How WhistlinDiesel Revolutionized Car Reviews
With automotive content, traditional car reviews have long followed a familiar formula: polished shots of vehicles, technical specifications, and reserved commentary on performance. However, with the rise of platforms like YouTube and social media, this formula has been challenged. One creator who stands out in this shift is WhistlinDiesel. Known for his unconventional and often extreme approach,…

"Presumed Innocent" - thriller on Netflix
I love internet reviews.
I suppose Gyllenhaal's role could have been aged (he's 43) although both he and Ruth Negga (she's also 43) are a reasonable distance from their kids Chase Infiniti (24) and Kingston Rumi Southwick (17). I don't want to think too hard about what this means for perceptions of adult males and females in the eyes of the audience.
My review of Presumed Innocent on Netflix would be summarised as "surprisingly watchable". I'm not a huge Gyllenhaal fan, partly due to his literal stiff upper lip (is anyone else finding it distracting?) however Ruth Negga carries it with the all the feels, as does relatable older couple, Bill Camp and Elizabeth Marvel. Online reviews were dismissive but I binged and enjoyed each episode. Great pacing, great acting, great dialog.

The reasons behind why comics (or movies, or books, or video games) turn out lackluster or outright bad are often really interesting and complex, factoring in elements like the limitations of various mediums, the expectations of the industries involved and evolution of those industries over time, perceptions or misconceptions about audience expectation, behind-the-scenes drama, and just the overall imperfect nature of human communication and the fact that every creative endeavor is ultimately a gamble whose outcome can never be determined until it's resolved.
So it is just really. Really. Fucking obnoxious. That the default assumption of criticism for so many people on the internet is, inevitably:
"The creators are bad/stupid/evil and/or hate my favorite characters and want them to suffer!!"

What is radio fo(u)r?
This week, a look at four recent BBC Radio Four shows.
Tumblr media
Wing It, an improvisation game that's a lot like Whose Line Is It Anyway? but different enough to pass muster.
Tumblr media
Unspeakable, where Phil Wang and his panel try to put new words in the dictionary, and Susie Dent tells them what similar words exist.
Tumblr media
One Person Found This Helpful, a panel show based on the sort of foolish online reviews annoying people leave. Really needs work, and I'm surprised they've commissioned it for a high-profile slot.
Tumblr media
Counterpoint, the evergreen music quiz. What is the secret to its longevity? And who won this year's tournament?
Plus, the Tory peer who learned the hard way that you don't fool around with University Challenge contestants.

A Disappointing Dud!? | Monday, 10.09.2023
Can you believe this!? Game Informer officially called Super Bomberman R 2 "a disappointing dud"!
Here's the final verdict: "Super Bomberman R 2’s best parts are the ones carried over from older games in the series. Messing around with friends in local and online matches is still fun, and if that's all you're interested in, it's a fine enough experience. Unfortunately, that’s a small portion of the game, making it hard to recommend."
Scored a 5.75 out of 10.

Just know that sometimes comments are for people other than the person who posted the Original Post
'I replaced the butter with a vegan alternative and it sucked' (a crude way of saying If you, potential baker, are trying to accommodate this recipe to your non-dairy diet it will not work)
'This recipe sucks. I added lemon juice for flavor and the flavor was bad. Do not use this recipe.' (An idiot who thought lemon juice belongs in Bailey's)

Dealing With Negative Reviews
I want to say at the top that I have been extremely fortunate that I have not had to deal with a lot of difficult or mean-spirited customers and negative reviews. The people who visit my Etsy shop have been lovely individuals; not only do a majority LEAVE a review (which, in itself is a miracle), but they normally leave high ratings.  That being said, I have had to deal with a few people and a…

Searching for the Perfect Tree Company to Trim my Trees | Tree Trimming Services in Nashville
Maintaining the trees in your yard is crucial in ensuring the safety and beauty of your property. Tree trimming is one of the essential maintenance tasks that homeowners should always prioritize. It improves the health of the trees, enhances the aesthetic appeal of your yard, and reduces the risk of accidents caused by fallen branches.
However, tree trimming is not a task to be taken lightly. It requires skills, knowledge, and experience to do it safely and effectively. It's advisableto hire a professional tree trimming company to do the job instead of doing it yourself.
But how do you find the right tree trimming company for the job? Here are some tips for searching for a tree trimming company on the internet:
Start with a local search The first step in finding a tree trimming company in Nashville is to search for a local company. Google 'tree trimming' together with your locality or zip code. This search will generate a list of local tree service companies in your area.
Check out company websites Take some time to look at each company's website. A professional and informative website can give you a sense of the quality of services a company offers. Ensure the websites have essential details such as the services they offer, their experience in the industry, and contact information.
Read online reviews Online reviews can provide valuable insights into the quality of services that a company offers. Check out Google Maps or other online directories to look for reviews from past customers. A company with many positive reviews is more likely to deliver quality services.
Consider certification and experience Look for a Nashville tree trimming company that has certified and experienced arborists. Certified arborists have the necessary knowledge and skills to handle different tree species and other vegetation. They also adhere to the industry's safety standards and guidelines.
Check for proper licensing and insurance Ensure the tree trimming company you choose has met all the state and local licensing requirements. A licensed company is a sign that it’s a legitimate business. The company should also have insurance to protect your property and their workers in case of accidents.
Get multiple estimates Once you have narrowed down the list of potential tree trimming companies, request estimates from them. A reputable company will provide you with a free estimate by visiting your property and assessing the services required.
Final thoughts
Finding the right tree trimming company can seem like a daunting task, but doing proper research and following the above tips can make a difference. Choose a company that meets all the requirements, has a proven track record of delivering quality services, and has mindful customer service. By doing proper research, you can protect your property, get value for your money, and ensure your trees remain healthy and vibrant.
