what's with the weird glorification of smoking that's come back lately

I've seen so many posts that paint opposing smoking as some impossibly Loser-ish or puritanical stance and I really don't get it

it makes you, your house, and your clothing stink, destroys your teeth, and gives you lung cancer. opposing it is. Correct. obviously addiction is very complicated and quitting can be hard, but just saying "smoking is gross and harmful as a practice (including vaping)" is True and Right actually

some of you have never grown up hearing about how some beloved family member died a slow, agonized, wasting death of smoking-induced cancer, or watching it firsthand for yourself, and it shows

sometimes i start feeling bad about spending time on my hobbies, thinking about how inconsequential they are and wondering if i'm wasting my time

[ID: A series of drawings showing a lot of varied dwarf portraits. In the beggining, it is written: "Dwarves are hewn, not born: The first Dwarf was such a superb craftsman that her stone statues took on lives of their own. Modern Dwarves carve their children from stone. You can often tell where a dwarf was hewn by what type of mineral they're made from. (Though sometimes they're made of imported material)".

The first four portraits, titled "igneous" are called basalt, obsidian, fire opal and unakite. Basalt has white locs on hair and beard and a normal human mid skin tone. Obsidian has long straight hair with a few small braids mixed in, black hair and dark purple skin. They seem moody. Fire opal has a full red hair and a light nude skin, and seems cheerful. Unakite seems fierce, and has green skin and hair with alternated orange strokes.

The next set, named "metamorphic", has dwarves made of lapis lazuli, marble, slate and anthraclte (coal). Lapis lazuli has blue skin and hair, an elegant look and golden eyes. Marble has light nude skin and bright white hair and eyes. Their beard is braided and they have a serene expression. Slate has a short beard, dark nude skin and dark hair, looking sturdy. Anthracite has very pale skin and very large black straight hair.

In the last section, "sedimentary", are featured the dwarves of sandstone, chalk, iron ore and limestone. Sandstone has a mid nude skin and golden hair tied in a braid crown; Chalk has light skin and white hair, partially tied in a bun; Iron ore has dark brown skin and brown wild hair, their beard tied in many small braids; and limestone has pale skin and pale brown hair and beard, which is short and straight. /end ID.]

Ik gender, sexual orientation or anything of the sort is not an issue in the cotl-verse in canon, but Kallamar, Kallamar is special. to me at least.

when you're so used to long flowing tendrils, pretty gowns and a crown that literally resembles (ik it's supposed to be a dunce hat but i'm ignoring that lol) one of those old cone shaped princess hats??? the one in kids shows back then with a streamer at the tip that flows down along with the hair?

when femininity becomes almost second nature to the point where "Brother" only bothers him juuust a little bit, who cares he could brush it off. call him whatever. he's too afraid to correct you anyway.

but now as a follower, he has none of those luxuries, no pretty tentacles, no crystals, no gowns.

just his body...his ugly, slimy, scarred, thin, sorry excuse of a body with a forehead too wide and ears- his precious ears, nothing but shredded lumps at the sides of his head. (Though it was always like that post Narinder, he always hid it with pretty jewelry that matched him)

he's too afraid to ask more of the lamb because of- well because of everything- so instead he asks the tailors for an old marital robe and wears it even though he isn't wed to the lamb (it sparked a LOT of misunderstandings, Leshy found it funny for the most part)

it hides him. hides the shame. it feels okay, for once.

but every now and then it comes back, like an itch, he can't scratch.
