My personal interpretation of Der Größemann: A Tale of a Hungry Phantasm. Written by Jasper; Ymbryne-Thea. A. R
Tumblr media
Background:
In this story, Slender Man had been around for a millennium. He's prevailed ever since the 8th century at the year AD 843, tenth of June. Precisely 1180 years ago. When the kingdom of Germany existed as the Holy Roman Empire, there existed low-lying mountains in the centre of its acre, located between the cities of Hamburg, Hanover, and Leipzig. The Harz Mountains are rich in folklore and myth, renowned as the home of many mythological creatures.
Reference Classification:
"Three great legendary myths that have shaped the Harz: the days of mediaeval emperors and kings, the enchanted world of witches and devils, and the subterranean realm of mountain men and dwarves."
The Harz Mountains are well known for its ghostly sightings and supernatural occurrences. Subsequent to the innumerable supernatural incidents there, it had caused for a sensational energetic imbalance to be formed, which was excessively brisk and vehement. These occurrences are frequent at a particular vacant area where it is empty of undergrowth — the area from a high-view is shaped as a circle. People, distinctly the Ecclesiastical Monastery (an Ecclesiastical Monastery is a Monastery that is a jurisdiction of the Church.), bequeathed it the name 'Chthonic Circle', because they had come to the conclusion that it was a portal to different planes of existence, evoking mythological creatures to enter and roam amongst the depths of Harz Mountains dark naturalism. We shall call this a rip in the fabric of reality, caused by an imbalance in the fundamental forces that hold the fabric together. This had occurred due to the overwhelming amount of energy caused by the previous multifarious supernatural circumstances. The Chthonic Circle is portrayed as an unpredictable and inter-dimensional phenomenon that allows creatures of miscellaneous dimensions to bridge into our world. This fervent circumstance had eventually led to the inadvertent manifestation of the Slender Man, who initially had his appearance as a creature with an unidentifiable sex. It didn't seem like a man or beast. Its form dictated clear as being preternaturally tall, its body can be described as diminutive, partially black except for its head that took in the colour of ghostly white skin, resembling that of an apparition. It was simply in nude, completely devoid of facial features, not adorned in any garments. It moves unnaturally like it is a marionette attached onto invisible strings. His unnaturally long, slender arms that swung like dead limbs, seemingly too lengthy and disjointed to belong to a mere mortal, hung awkwardly at its sides, and its towering height will make you feel dwarfed in its shadow. A Behemoth.
Crusaders and Martyrdom.
Folks that dwell around the mountains had allegedly sighted him a few times. They surmise that he was either a Wraith or Behemoth. Consequently, the tall creature had leisurely obtained an enigmatic reputation amongst central Germany and few parts of Europe, being known as Der Größemann (Deer Grohs-man is the proper pronunciation, I think. It depends on how people in Germany pronounce it. Southern Germans have a distinctly different accent compared to all of Germany). In this period, 800 AD, paganism was practised in some areas of Central Germany, particularly in rural areas where the influence of Roman Christian monks was not yet strongly felt. Elements of pre-Christian shamanic practices have persisted in some areas of Central Germany even after the arrival of Christianity, as a kind of syncretic combination of old and new beliefs. Historically, there were magickal burial sites situated in segments of the Harz Mountains, with this introduced to knowledge, the Ecclesiastical Monastery (or Frankish Christian chapel, whatever they used back then), had conjectured that it was witches who had convoked the notorious entity, rather than him being an accidental manifestation of the fundamental supernatural energies that meander the area.
Throughout the passing moons and suns, he had slowly developed an unquenchable hunger. A desire to witness despondence and sorrows. In his endless pursuit of power, the Slender Man has observed countless individuals fall victim to the hardships and suffering of life. He watched civilisations rise and fall. He has learned about the flawed aspect of humanity and harbours a profound knowledge of impurities inherent in mankind. Humanity’s weakness and frailties can make them susceptible to even further degradation and despair, because they are eager enough to make themselves even reprehensible as they are now. The Slender Man relishes the twisted pleasure of witnessing others succumb to their own hubris, proving to him that his own superiority is justified. As such, he seeks to gather proxies to enact his will and demonstrate his dominance. By doing so, he hopes to further reinforce his belief that humanity is a deplorable species observing subjugation and punishment. He realised that humans were easily influenced, and that their minds could be moulded to serve his purpose. He craved subserviency, and soon developed a hunger for supremacy. He viewed his proxies as extensions of himself, and their success fuelled his own desire for authorisation and power. Being cognisant of his hatred for humanity, there was one thing he refused to acknowledge, and that was how he's grown to be rather anthropomorphic throughout centuries of acclimating to the human world. He refuses to think that he was comparable to a human.
The Manor. (If I had to make the Manor work here somehow..)
Tumblr media
The manor existed during the Common Era (around the 1460’s), so the outward appearance of the manor would look a bit akin to this. Though, I am specifically talking about the texture, not the way it’s structured. It’s way more spacious and humongous than that.
Der Größemann has mastery over a wide range of magickal and mystical arts, allowing him to create a travelling-manor that can be summoned from the spiritual realm. This manor is like a conduit that allows him to tap into the latent magickal energies of the region in the Harz Mountains and transport himself to different locations across the Earth. The manor is made up of a complex network of arcane sigils and ancient runes which allow him to summon it wherever he pleases. The manor itself is a manifestation of his power and his innate connection to the mystical forces that he has mastered over the centuries. The estate would be heavily influenced by his chaotic energy and history, so the atmosphere of the interior is filled with a supernatural energy that can be felt as soon as you enter. The air is thick with power and magick, as if you have stepped into a different world entirely. The walls and floors are made of dark stone, and there are ancient symbols etched into the wood that is used for furniture and other items within the sanctum. The lighting is low and dim, with candles and sconces providing the only illumination. Despite the overall dark and foreboding atmosphere, the dwelling-place is also faintly filled with a sense of comfort. The manor is a sanctuary for Der Größemann.
Der Größemann can move or teleport the manor by harnessing the power of the supernatural energies within him. He can conjure up a mystickal vortex around himself and the mansion, which acts as a portal that can transport him and the mansion to any location in the world. Der Größemann's ability to create and manipulate this vortex is a reflection of his immense abilities and his connection to the natural world. When he uses this ability, he can feel the energy engulfing him, as if it were a part of his own being. The manor is not physically attached to the ground and instead exists in a separate realm, only visible to those who are connected to him on a spiritual level (the people who work under his name, novice or professional), When the manor is being moved, the inhabitants inside can experience a sense of vertigo and disorientation, as if they are being pulled through a vortex of energy. To summarise it, it transports itself through magickal means.
The manor, funnily, is a massive estate, built to resemble an egg-shaped space, reminiscent of ellipsism. It is corresponding to an elliptical orbit of a planet around a star, symbolising the cosmic laws and Slender Man's mastery over magickal arts. This shape is not only structurally sound but also metaphysically significant, symbolising the cosmic order and laws of gravity. This also symbolises The Slender Man's mastery over the mystic arts and his control over the natural world. The vortex is enforced by arcane sigils and ancient runes, and as such, the shape serves as a protective boundary, shielding the Manor and its inhabitants from external forces (may not make sense but I hope you guys get this!)
"Planets following an exact path around their Stars is a visual presentation of the laws of gravity and cosmic order", this is a small passage quite comparable to Slender and his proxies, with the proxies representing the planets, and the Slender Man being the star the proxies orbit.
I tried making this as historically accurate as possible. Thank you for perusing this, fare well.

Let the poor man rest.
#also no he doesn't want to experience life as a normal person. no he wouldn't sacrifice his powers to live again.#he LOVED being powerful. he was very proud of his powers. he was at the top of the world. what he disliked was being so lonely at the top.#which having reunited with Geto now he is not.#and he wanted to keep the next generation safe due to his past regrets and teach a generation of kids to be at the top together.#and he wanted to get rid of the corrupt higher-ups and reform the Jujutsu society.#and he did all of that. Yuta and Yuuji are both alive and safe and the kids are all reunited with each other stronger than ever#and the higher-ups are d**d.#Gojo obviously wouldn't hate to keep living. he clearly didn't expect to lose and die. but as he himself confirmed#he died doing what he loved. he went out the way he wanted. he went out with a bang. he had the best fight of his life and gave it his all.#as he said 'he had fun'. he said it would have been embarrassing if he died of old age or sickness.#and now that he's gone he's happy with his friends and especially Geto. he found peace.#He said it himself 'Now i'm wishing that it's not just a dream'.#also for those of you who say that Geto & Gojo wouldn't be together because one would go to hell and one to heaven... no. just no.#first of all. Gojo did a mass m*r*** before his death#second of all. they're Buddhists. they don't have heaven and hell. don't bring Abrahamic religions into everything.#and you'd be surprised by the excuses the Abrahamic religions find to not let people in heaven.#probably Gojo wouldn't go to heaven even if he didn't kill the higher-ups due to...idk... occasionaly doing pranks or sth.#but Gege apparently created a whole other afterlife of his own. and Toji Geto Gojo Nanami and everyone were all gathered there together.#you SAW that. so stop.#jujutsu kaisen#jjk#gojo satoru#satoru gojo#jjk gojo#gege akutami#my two cents#satosugu

this may sound a little strange but when it comes to the utmv fandom and in universe meta aware characters interacting with ones who aren’t aware, I like to approach it more from like a religious or spiritual belief standpoint. so like, to others, characters like killer and ink seem either really religious or spiritual (ink) or really superstitious/religious/indoctrinated (killer). ink believes in creators, but to killer, those creators are actually more like players.
