Thorki AU where Thor and Loki start a band when they're teens but it's mostly just the two of them because they're messy little fuckers who constantly butt heads and no one can stand to be around them for too long. Somehow, they're still really good and end up getting picked up by a record label and become a hit. This, of course, makes them even messier fuckers and their constant drama makes them an even bigger draw to more people. They manage to find a small team of people who are (mostly) willing to stick it out with them and make a few hit albums and get through a few tours. (They just barely manage to get through them by the skin of their teeth, but still!)
Unfortunately, their latest album hasn't done as well critically or commercially and the tension between Thor and Loki has been at an all time high, which has really made touring unbearable for everyone involved. A particularly rough performance the night before ended up with Loki and Thor getting into a(nother) nasty little ruckus that had their manager calling up the front desk of the hotel with a preemptive "I'm sorry for whatever happens to that suite, we'll pay for the damages, please don't call the cops, thank you."
They show up to the tour bus the next morning and something's... different. Sure, usually after a bad argument they're a bit quiet and sulky until one of them cracks a joke that makes the other laugh and everything's good again until the next shitfit ensues, but this time they're real quiet and avoiding looking at each other(and everyone else) and everyone's getting worried that this might be the fight that finally breaks them up.
Except actually they had an angry fuck after Loki said 'We'Re NoT EvEn ReEeEeAl BrOtHeRs!!?!' for like, the 700th time and Thor was like 'FINE!' and smashed their mouths together. Things Happened and now they're a bit shell shocked and trying to figure how to feel about it. (And trying valiantly to convince themselves It Wasn't That Good.)
(It was That Good. Oops.)

I still always want to take concepts from the Kane Chronicles and apply them to comics. The Kane Chronicles had the whole thing of: Gods can't really affect things in the mortal realm without having a host body. So for example: Carter Kane ended up being the host for Horus. And i love that concept, and i keep seeing it in Thor. Thor and Don Blake feels like a Kane Chronicles host body style thing. For Thor to appear on midgard, he needs Don Blake to host his essence. This would also mean that Thor and Don Blake are different men with different personalities, which would be really cool.
And hell, i can still apply this concept to other characters in the thor comics. I'd have made Jane Foster the host body for Sif. I think that would have been fun, since we'd then be combining thor's love interests. We could even use this as an opportunity to imagine possible hosts for loki, odin, hercules or other gods. It'd add an extra layer to the already interesting realm of thor comics.
Hell, even outside the realm of thor comics i could make this work. Imagine an alternative universe where Captain Marvel/Shazam worked like this. Billy Batson is the host for whatever god Captain Marvel is. It'd be sort of extra derivative of percy jackson then (seeing as billy batson is roughly the age of an average rick riordan protagonist), but it'd be really cool to see someone take this route with captain marvel and the marvel family. there's potential in it.

Like Master like Students

And even though Sora isn't a student of anyone in the Wayfinder Trio (though Aqua did think of making him an apprentice for a second when he was four, of course), Sora is continuing to adapt what he learns from other warriors into his own fighting style and can be seen using the keychain of his Keyblade to fight in the KHIV trailer (though part of me wonders if that could also be a hint at web slinging and a Spider-Man world, but take that with a huge grain of salt).

But now that Kairi is going to be trained by Aqua, I wonder if we'll see her using chain magic, or whatever, too. I sure hope so.

I haven't seen s2 of Loki but with the all the posts (the solid like. maybe five posts showing the parallels between the s2 finale and TBI.) I'm just feeling like. "Remember your roots" sorta feelings. So.
I was obsessed with the MCU for a while until the past couple years, but why did I get into it? I adamantly dislike superhero films and find them boring. So why Marvel?
Yeah I was super obsessed with Norse Mythology. Like it was all I thought about. Scrounging for any Norse Mythology content I found the Thor movies and went ham on that. MCU doesn't hit like it used to for me, though, but MAN does The Bifrost Incident. Actually smothered in Norse Mythology compared to the MCU and just. The Mechanisms hyperfixation.
The thing that got me to the point of stuff like the Loki series and The Bifrost Incident was really that seventh-grade kid who wandered constantly about mistletoe and oversized snakes, ravens and snow- the faux marriage for the return of a hammer, the broken friendship between a warrior and a wolf, the loyalty of a wife to an imprisoned and tortured husband, the mild and silly adventures of an ever watchful guard, and the drive for wisdom of an old king.
So, you know, just got feeling nostalgic I guess. And to the kid described above that waved a "hello, say hi to Odin for me if you can" to every pair of crows they saw in childlike wonder, you're a nerd and you would have adored TBI. Also, dude... thanks for having existed <3

[...] Just like that, he was back by the Mila tree, lying on the ground and staring up at the canopy. He smiled, sitting up, scanning the area. Soleil had already bounced up, looking around the area in awe, hair just as purple as it was when they’d left. Selena was in a sitting position, taking in the view.  “It’s been so long,” Selena–no, Severa, Inigo reminded himself–said. Her hair had streaks of blue again, and her Brand was back in her right eye. “It has,” Inigo agreed, smiling.  But then he heard a choked sound, and he and Severa both turned. Owain was behind them, on his knees, staring at his hands. Time seemed to stop.  Owain wasn’t supposed to be here. “I didn’t even have my stone,” Owain whispered, but in the silence of the clearing, the impact would have been the same if he screamed it. “I… I had destroyed it. How… how am I here?” Inigo didn’t have an answer.

I think I'm beyond the point of an organised belief system or more far-out philosophical stance than I used to be, like I toyed with the idea of philosophical satanism for a while but learning about how shit the Satanic Temple and LaVeyan Satanism were really soured me on satanism on any level outside of aesthetic. Like fuck it I'll be a poser and dig satanic imagery while being actively critical of the institutions and foundational texts of the wider satanic/pagan movement. I'll respect the people and their own belief and adherence to an idealised version of that, but my belief in any of it, even as a transgressive counter-cultural movement, is gone.
Like for a while I just discussed satanism as a concept and talked about the tenets and how it can be a tongue-in-cheek reaction to organised religion that reflects and contrasts and is empowering and all that, and then it turns out one of the guys behind The Satanic Temple, Doug Mesicko or Doug Mesner or whatever his fucking name is, had a pro-eugenics website until very recently, chose to platform KKK members for years and is generally a very shitty, antisemitic gloryhog.
Like satanism as it exists today is a hokey novelty that some carnie came up with, and now the leading satanic org in the world take people to court because they have a copywrited version of Baphomet. It's a con, and it took the wind out of my sails, especially as more people championed TST on the grounds of religious freedom despite their consistently terrible track record in winning court cases for civil liberties.
Pro-Satan, pro-666, pro-power to the people, pro-transgression. That shit belongs to everyone. But my stance to any sort of institutionalization of that is that it should be burned to the ground. Nothing good comes from a counter-cultural institution. It's an oxymoron.
#satanism#anarchism#i think??? is this anarchism??#like get this - I have the same stance on satanism as I do on christianity#in that what it means To You and the positive influence it has on you as a person is your business and your right#but the second you put a guy in charge everything falls apart. fuck doug mesner and tst and also fuck the pope + the entire vatican#churches can be lovely and full of art and cultural landmarks. a lot of people died at the hands of the catholic church#like over a thousand indigenous canadian children who were buried in mass graves under state-funded catholic schools#similarly - there can be satanic/pagan locations that are badass and have great art and can be a meeting point for likeminded people#but it's just as likely that someone's going to be a neo-nazi and/or try to co-opt shit for their own ends#and fuck up a lot of goodwill and a lot of good people for selfish ends#yeah it's on a lesser scale than the vatican but it's the same issue. imagery and community and recognition of the self and others is great#art and community is great#putting someone In Charge Of A Community and putting that community into tiers fucks everything up. it's all about personal belief#and whether the person in charge is named John/Mary or Odin/Prarie it usually fucks everything up#a christian is just as valid praying at a church as they are lighting a candle at home or against a brick wall or with friends#a satanist is just as valid whether they're a card-carrying member of a satanic org or if they're doing their own thing#as long as it gets you to the same point of being good to yourself and to others#that gets harder to do when you have someone In Charge of the shit you're into#so cut out the middleman and live to a strong code of ethics. and frankly take as much of the middlemans power as you can#because fuck the middleman. the middleman should mean jack shit to you in my opinion. fuck em
