yesterday i had a glorious fucking migraine and i had thoughts about au of the time travel tobirama au

basically what if Tobirama fails and dies like about a year after the marriage with Madara. Konoha is building and everything, everyone is happy and then Tobirama fucking dies.

I didn't think of the reason, but maybe he was killed in battle or smth. Maybe by some clan like idk Shimura :)

So, expectedly, Madara loses his fucking mind and it's even worse than when Izuna died, cuz they're supposed to be at peace what the fuck. Madara tries to raze the entire clan responsible for his sweet husband's death.

Hashirama doesn't let him do that and Madara leaves the village, where Black Zetsu catches onto him.

So basically, canon, but Tobirama was never Niidaime and Izuna lived.

The second Hokage would be, idk, Itama, who's fucking terrified and he didn't signed up for this shit!

But yeah, he's the Niidaime and he does everything in his power to implement everything Tobirama wanted to do for the village. And it's a lot. A LOT. Honestly like the dude knew he's gonna be a Hokage one day, he left MANY notes.

Itama appoints Kagami as his successor, cuz that's what Tobirama would want.

Danzo, being a bitch at the Uchiha clan, since Madara had a huge beef with his clan, kills Kagami, takes his eyes, makes it mission accident yada-yada, Itama appoints Hiruzen the next Hokage.

Idk why Itama left the position, but he never wanted it anyway. He did everything his brother wanted and peaced out to go smoke.

So, the canon happens.

The 4th war happens.

Orochimaru raises the dead Hokage, but not only him, Tobirama is there too, since he was super smart and his personal fav.

"Oh fuck, not again," Tobirama said, hiding his face in his hand. Everyone thought that's about the time Orochimaru made him fight in the Konoha crush on chuunin exams. He choose him over Itama, cuz even though Itama is a good Hokage, but he's a healer for the most part and not that useful on the battlefield.

Sasuke asks his questions and then he asks Tobirama.

"Uchiha Tobirama. The history says that you were married off to the Uchiha clan, to Madara, against your will and then took the suicide mission after a year in marriage. Is this true? You hated the Uchiha so much that you killed yourself?"

"I did what"

"Well, you were the one who created Uchiha Police Force..." Orochimaru said.

"First of all, I planned it to go further than the Uchiha and to supervise it myself. At the first stages it was supposed to be only Uchiha because it was one of the most competent clans to do this job and my clan that I trusted. Second of all, 'against my will'? Seriously?! I did not chase Madara since I was 9 to write our marriage off as a political marriage! What the fuck!"

Everyone, except Hashirama and Itama looked shocked at this confession.

"Where IS my husband? Trying to avenge my death to the whole world?"

"Uh, yeah.."

"Of fucking course. I should've left him a note specifically saying that he needs to be in the fucking village and take care of our clan. Now what? Our clan is just one a vengeful child!"

Tobirama paused, feeling up the battlefield.

"And one more Uchiha who lost his shit. Of fucking course"

Everyone shocked, cuz Tobirama had a reputation who hated Uchiha, cuz his brother married him off to them as a peace offering. Then Sasuke makes Hashirama talk about all this talk about village, Hokage, shinobi yada yada yada

Senju brothers are PISSED at Hiruzen and Danzo (thank fuck he's dead right). Hiruzen looked remorseful and said that he knew that everyone expected Kagami to become Hokage and not him.

Ok, so!

Tobirama was the fastest one to rush to the battle field. He had a feral husband to calm down.

He arrived and just stood before Madara, who froze in shock.

"Husband, come here," Tobirama said, opening his arms. Alliance is just standing there gaping cuz what the fuck

Madara didn't notice Tobirama at first, since he masked his chakra by habit. But even then he was exited to meet Hashirama and fight once more. But then he sees Tobirama and FUCK all these plans, his huband is here!!!

Madara just crushed into Tobirama. He had no idea that Tobirama could've been edo tensei'ed the whole time!

"Calm down, dear. What have you done here?" Tobirama asked, petting his husband's hair.

"I just wanted to bring you back..."

"Oh dear... You stupid, stupid man," Tobirama shook his head and kissed him, while the whole Alliance watches shocked.

And this is a story how Tobirama stopped the 4th war singlehandedly.

Ofc there's Obito, but they sic Naruto on him and it's all good. Though Black Zetsu tried something, but Tobirama is fucking READY for him. He will avenge his husband's sanity.

Before they go to Pure Lands again, Tobirama said to Tsunade, Kakashi and Naruto "Fucking fix your history books! I love my husband since I was 9!" (he actually didn't, but no one should know about it, okay)

And Madara is there just clinging to Tobirama with all his body and refusing to let go. He doesn't care about Eternal Tsukuyomi anymore, cuz he can hug his husband once more.

I was debating on YouTube about Sasuke but YouTube deletes comments, especially those that have a link. It was also difficult for me to search for the publications. So I gave myself the task of collecting posts from all Sasuke fans and neutral critics of the work 'Naruto' that talk about Sasuke and his relationship with the other Naruto characters. How can anyone read the two chapter panels showing two very different worlds the characters occupy and be surprised by the way it ended? They were not going to reconcile since the world where Sasuke exists is the antithesis of the world where his former team resides.

Lee was never "good” at Taijutsu, let alone being a genius at it. The series' main theme, revolves around bonds. When the manga began, Naruto let loose Kurama (unintentionally) against Haku, breaking all Ice Mirrors that ... no Jutsu could break; and that, happened way back in the Waves Arc. How does that associate "hard-work" with Naruto's character, upon whom many poor souls project their misfortunes to feel vindicated, when two geniuses (Sasuke and Kakashi) in the near-vicinity failed? Naruto powered through this via nothing but brute force; and that isn't a precursor to hard-work. That's the exact opposite. With the beginning of the next Arc, the "if we work hard, we could beat all odds, too" trope lovers got their kicks from Sasuke's humiliation at Lee's hands (or gates?); but then they conveniently forget that Lee himself stated that what Sasuke accomplished was literally impossible for someone like him (he even emphasized on this argument). Gai even went so far as to state that even with the Sharingan's power, Sasuke should never have been able to do what he did (he literally invented his own Taijutsu maneuver from Lee's in a single day; if that's not prodigious, I don't know what is); and Gai, last I checked, is an authority on the subject of Taijutsu, not you—yes, you! Sasuke mastered Kimimaro's CS in under two hours whilst Lee survived simply because Kimimaro was dying and he literally died whilst delivering a death-blow to Gaara and Lee; so thematically, narratively, and metaphorically, Sasuke matched an adversary against whom both Gaara and Lee lost? That and Lee was outshined by Sasuke twice in a row, going so far as to undermine Lee in his own life endeavors that involved years of sweat and tears?

Shikamaru's revenge is meaningless unlike Sasuke's.

The Mershark & Mermaid - Part 10

“Oh well you see, she can’t. Sarada has to go and meet up with her parents.” Boruto explained calmly. Orochimaru was bound to figure out who she was, and they couldn’t have that. Perhaps if he and Mitsuki distracted him long enough then Sarada could swim away and escape.

“At this time? Now, now Boruto. You know as well as anyone that being out this late is dangerous for sharklings. Why don’t I take you home, you’ll be much safer then.” A scary smile appeared on the ‘snake’s’ face. If only they had stayed with his mama, sure she would have questions but at least she wouldn’t have harmed Sarada. Why out of all mersharks did it have to be him?

“Actually-” Mitsuki interrupted, as much as he loved his parent, he knew he couldn’t be trusted to be around Sarada. He was about to say something before Sarada spoke out, coming out of her hiding spot from Boruto.

“Uh, sure?” She shrugged.

“I don’t mind staying a little longer, I’m sure Papa won’t either.” What is she thinking? They both thought giving a confusing look to the young mershark.

“Excellent, right this way then. I told you; you should bring your friends around more often Mitsuki.” Orochimaru turned around swiftly leading the way.

“Sarada, what are you doing? If you stay here, you’ll be in danger.” Boruto whispered close by.

“Well, he doesn’t know yet. Besides, I’m sure Papa will come and save me.” He had to, Sarada believed in him and for now it was best to be discreet. Even if they did find out she was Sasuke’s daughter, if they don’t know who her mother was, she would be safe. Right?

However, what the three sharklings weren’t aware was that Orochimaru wasn’t leading them to his home. But instead taking them to where the Uchiha sharks lied. If she was truly the daughter of Sasuke and the mermaid, then they would indeed be quite interested with her.

Whether she made it out alive or not wasn’t any of his concern.

“It’s getting late, you should go back.”

“I’m not going anywhere without my daughter. I told you.”

“More sharks will be out by now, it’s not even safe for sharklings.”

“All the more reason for me to stay don’t you think? If it’s between me and Sarada, who do you think they’ll go after. A small child or an adult mermaid with more meat, I’d rather be the one distracting them then have them lay a hand on my daughter.”  Something about those words stirred Sasuke in the wrong way, almost as if saying how easy her and Sarada’s life was to get taken away.

And he hated it.

“Don’t fucking talk like that!” Sasuke snapped swimming in front right of her. His claws held onto her arms harshly glaring at Sakura. Almost as if telling her to take it back.

But she won’t.

“Why not? It’s the truth, right? Mermaids, sharklings. We’re nothing but food to you. Why should I gloss over-”

“I will kill anyone before they go near you or Sarada!” His voice held a deadly tone and his eyes, those damned eyes. They held conviction, the image of losing Sarada and Sakura. Sakura flinched feeling his sharp nails dig into her arms to which his face immediately softens apologising letting go.

She knew he wasn’t lying.

“Why?” Why would he go so far for her?

“Sarada I can understand, but me? We haven’t talked in years. Why would you go so far for me?” Why? Was she really that dense? Surely, she couldn’t believe that all those moments together were nothing. Then again, given how they ‘broke up’ could he blame her for doubting him?

“Do I need to spell it out for you?” Sakura looked at him expectedly waiting for an answer, some closure maybe.

Mama should know the truth.

“Because I… I love you.”

When Sakura was young, she was a curious little mermaid, always wanting to learn more about the sea. Including above with humans too. Sakura went about her day collecting unusual items she found when they dropped them into the sea. She had a various collection from jewellery, to mobile and electronics and even clothes like shoes. Not that the little mermaid knew exactly what they were but that was the fun of it. As soon as she discovered a new item Sakura went out her way to find out exactly what it was.

Her parents warned her to be careful, but it wasn’t like Sakura went up to the surface to meet them. She waited until the coast was clear before swimming over to the object, the humans would even jump in to retrieve their items if it was something important, so Sakura knew to wait patiently before putting herself in danger.

“Where are you going forehead?” A young Ino asked as Sakura tried to sneak away.

“I heard there were more humans about.” Which meant more treasure.

“Don’t you think you need to stop with your little ‘collection?’” The fishling asked, concerned about her friend’s safety. Ino knew Sakura inside and out and was worried that this hobby would put her in danger one day. What if the humans saw and captured her?

“I’ll be careful, please don’t tell Mama or Papa.” Ino gave a pinkie promise but only if Sakura was back at a certain time. If not Ino would assume the worst and tell her parents, she had gone out again. Realistically Ino knew she should say something right away, but with her friend’s pleading face how can she deny her?

“Deal!” Sakura grinned happily; she was glad to have a friend like Ino.

Sakura knew she saw the item drop over here. Granted she had never been this far down the waters before but the fishling was determined to find the shiny object. It was dark and scary, Sakura looked from left to right. It felt like she was being watched but that couldn’t be right? And if something were to happen, she was quite fast so could easily out swim them. The mermaid continued her quest until up ahead she saw a little merboy on a flat rock lying about inspecting the item she was looking for.

“Hey, that’s mine!” Sakura swam over to him, her little hands on the rock as she looked up curiously from below. Now that she got a good look at him, he seemed slightly different than a merboy. With the tail being a giveaway. The strange boy put the item on his face where his eyes were. Oh, was that where it’s supposed to go? They were called glasses; however, she didn’t know what its purpose was.

“Yours? It’s the humans.” He turned to face her with a smirk. “I bet you don’t even know what it’s used for.”

“Yes, I do! It’s… it’s um…” Sakura tried to come up with an excuse that seemed more believable than what he was currently using them for, nothing came to mind. Humans were strange when it came to clothes.

“Um, okay I don’t know. I collect them, I’ve been waiting for ages to get it. Please can I have it?” Perhaps if she looked cute enough the merboy would willingly hand them over? He only snorted amused with her antics.

“What use would it be to you if you don’t-” It was only until he took the glasses off did he realise who he was talking to or rather what he was talking to.

‘Wait a minute.’

“You’re a-”

“Sasuke, are you down here?” That was his brother Itachi. Sasuke looked at the mermaid and to where he heard his brother’s voice. He had to think of something before Itachi came over, what was she thinking swimming all the way down here? Didn’t she know how dangerous it was?

“Quick, you need to leave. Here! Take it!” Sasuke gave the glasses to her ushering her away.

“Ah, thank yooou?” Sakura squeaked when the strange merboy pushed her away before swimming up to his older brother. “I’m here Itachi.”

“What did I tell you about wandering on your own?”

“Sorry, a human dropped something, so I went to see what it was. I couldn’t find it.”

“You know better than to go after something a human left, it could be a trap.” Considering the number of times humans have come close to capturing them. Fortunately, there was always another mershark about to help. Some of the humans have even come face to face with a shark, but who would believe them?

“I know.” Sasuke looked down pouting, he wouldn’t have said anything had the mermaid not distract him. Knowing better than to touch anything human related but like Sakura Sasuke was a curious little mershark and he went to inspect for himself.

Sakura watched the two brothers from a distance. It wasn’t until she saw the older one did it register what they were and how close she was to dying.

The mergirl certainly had a lucky escape, but why did he willingly help her?

“Hey Ino, do you know about the waters below?” Sakura asked one evening, of course every merfolk knew of the mersharks living below. Yet Sakura couldn’t stop herself from thinking about the one who saved her. He could have easily led her to his brother and be a snack to them, instead he distracted the older shark and pushed her out to safety.

“The deep sea? That area is invested with mersharks, it’s dangerous for mermaids. You should know that forehead with your big brain.” Ah, Sakura did know, but wanted to make sure.

‘He protected me though.’

Now instead of having any interests of the objects the humans would drop her curiosity led her to the mersharks.

Fortunately, when Sakura went off alone again Ino had assumed it was because she wanted to find more human objects. Never would she tell her about exploring the deep sea, Sakura was only going because she wanted to go and thank the mershark boy. That’s what she tells herself at least. Certainly not because her curiosity got the better and was curious about other mersharks being the same as him or if he was the only one.

The little mermaid was careful on where she was swimming knowing if she encountered an adult mershark she would be as good as dead. That was the cruelty in their ocean world, everyone is out for themselves. She was willingly putting her life in danger but at least her parents and friend were safe. Sakura swam from rock to rock hiding behind it peeking out to see if there were any predators about. None that she could see so far, so Sakura continued swimming out in the open.

No luck either on finding the small shark boy. Sakura felt her ears drop. What was the point if she couldn’t find him.

Without warning the mermaid felt a huge tug on her tail and being lifted upside down.

“Well, well. Look at what we have here?” The shark grinned showing his pointy teeth. Sakura froze having no idea what to do. She didn’t sense or see him beforehand, how was he able to surprise and come up behind her?

“This is no place for mermaid, but I can’t complain. I’m starving.” A second shark appeared to which she later realised there was a group of five of them. There was no way she could escape.

“Oi, save me a piece as well.”

“Get your own. This is baby, it’s hardly going to satisfy one shark let alone two.”

“That’s not fair.”

“I saw her first!” The mersharks began fighting as the other one held her higher out of place trying to control his ‘friends.’ At first Sakura was worried if she would be torn to pieces with how violently they were attacking. She heard plenty of gruesome stories that had happened to merfolk, these stories were shared at a young age to put the young ones off on going to shark territory.

However, now that they were distracted a little sharkling came and bit onto the mersharks claw hard enough that he dropped the mermaid. Still in a daze and terrified of the adults Sakura had barely noticed and was frozen. Even when the young mershark boy took her hand and pulled her with him so they were swimming away. He was saying something, but Sakura could barely hear him, her heart hammering so much she felt like it was going to burst.

“Oi! Get back here Uchiha, I don’t care if your father is Fugaku. I’ll eat you in front of him myself.” The two were being chased but Sasuke was faster. As he rounded a bigger rock there was a small cave big enough for the two of them where he was hiding before.

Sasuke pushed the young mermaid in before peeking outside to see if they had been followed. It seemed that the coast was clear, and they couldn’t keep up with him, still it was best for two to lay low for now. Sasuke turned to the mergirl with a glare.

“Are you stupid? What were you thinking coming down here? You know sharks eat mermaids, right?”

“Uh… I um…” Coming down here seemed perfectly reasonable before but now she was a fumbling mess. Shaken from what happened earlier, I mean Sakura practically faced death in the face and had he not appear she probably would have been torn to shreds and shared ‘equally’ that way. “You’re lucky I saw you; you would have been fish food.”

Quite literally.

“I… why are you hiding?” Was the first thing that came to mind.

“Sharks eat sharklings too, I’m as much as food to them as you are.” Except as he was slightly bigger, he would probably be more fulfilling than a small mermaid.  “You are?” This was the first she’s heard of it. She knew they feasted on merfolk sure but their own. What about the parents? Wouldn’t they be upset? Want revenge? He merely shrugged as if it was nothing.

“That’s how our species work, if you die a sharkling then clearly your too weak to live as one.” Such a cruel and horrific thing to say to someone so young, Sakura could only imagine what that would be like in her fins. Imagine not only having to worry about sharks but adult merfolk at such a young age. The thought gave her the shivers, but it wasn’t exactly as though they had the right body parts to begin with.

“That’s not fair, what if you get stronger when you get older.”

“Life’s not fair, that’s how the world works. We should be safe in here though, their too big to get in here and it’s where I hid from them before.”

“They were chasing you?”

“Yeah, but then they got a glimpse of you and thought you were an easier target.” In a way Sasuke had felt guilty because had he not been taunting them from before with Naruto they wouldn’t be in this situation. Sometimes his head got a little bit too big with being an Uchiha, although she shouldn’t be here at all. He found it strange when he first met her but as she was after the human’s item Sasuke took it as an accident and that she hadn’t realised how far she was.

She was too innocent, so he helped her out. It would be such a waste to die so young, why was she back though?

“What’s your name?” Here he was her hero, twice and she still didn’t know his name.

“Sasuke.”

“Sasuke? My name is Sakura!” Sakura grinned holding her hand out for him to take.

“Wait a minute, what are you doing?”

“Huh?”

“Asking me my name, giving me yours? It’s weird.”

“Why is weird? I just wanted to thank you for saving my life… twice now I guess hehe.” She stuck out her tongue bashfully. “Because a mermaid and mershark can’t be friends, you know when I get bigger, I can eat you right?”

“Pfft, if you wanted to eat me, you wouldn’t have saved me to begin with.” Sakura said filled with confidence. She was a strange mermaid but maybe he was no better like she said for rescuing her and here starts their unusual friendship.

“Ino! Ino! Guess what I met someone!” Of course, Sakura didn’t mention him being a mershark, but she was too excited and wanted to gush about her new friend.

“So the human’s toxic did this to you?” Sakura asked looking at the now different mershark. What once was his pale scales were now grey. Even his hair and tail had changed colour, but Sakura couldn’t help but be fascinated by him.

“I told you, leave me alone! I don’t want to see anybody!!” Not looking like this.

“But your upset and I can’t leave a friend alone being upset.” Especially after his traumatising experience. Even if his form had changed Sakura was sure he was still shaken up from almost being eaten. It took her a while to get over it when they met the second time.

“Stop calling me your friend!”

“Nope!” Sakura plopped herself down next to him as if to make a point. Their tails were swished side by side. She tried to look at him, but he refused, hating how he looked. Sakura pouted at this.

“Come on Sasuke, let me see.”

“No!”

“Please?” At this he snapped, he hated how carefree she was. Couldn’t she see that this wrong?

“I’m not supposed to look like this! I mean look at me, I’m gross, I look like a monster I mean I know I’m meant to look scary but not like this. What if I get older and can’t find a mate? She swam over to him, her little hands held onto his claws as she tried to snap him out of it.

“Sasuke, Sasuke! Breathe.” The little mermaid inhaled and exhaled trying to get him to do the same. He did. She gave him a small smile in response and that was all he needed to feel safe.

Safe, secured and relaxed.

“I know it’s scary, and we have no idea on what’s happened, but I don’t think you will die. You’re a sharkling, if something were to happen it would have er did.” She looked up and down his new look. “And you’re still the Sasuke I know, it doesn’t matter what’s on the outside. It’s the inside that counts, that’s what my parents always told me.”

“Yeah, but your parents are merfolk.” Sasuke muttered but Sakura ignored him letting go of his claws. “Point being your still Sasuke and still cute. Your hair is soft too.” Sakura went to touch his hair again liking the texture all the while the words ‘cute’ kept ringing his ears as he found himself blushing.

Sakura went to face him again upside down.

“Are you blushing?”

“Tsk, no?” And how could she tell?

“Aww, Sasuke is even cuter now.” Sakura squealed hugging him giggling away.

“And besides I’m sure you’ll get lots of mersharks fawning after you. You’ll be a… a… mermaid man? No wait, mershark man!” Sasuke looked at her dumbly.

“What’s that?”

“Someone who’s popular with mermaid, my parents won’t go into details though. In your case though it would be sharks. What’s a female shark called?” Sakura asked curiously. It amazed him how she could be focused on one thing and then another.

“Stop getting so close.”

“But your so cute and I really like your eyes.”

“Mersharks are not meant to be cute.” But he did find her words reassuring, if a mermaid like her could be at ease with him maybe other mersharks can too. She always knew how to make him feel better, unlike his father.

“Except Sasuke.”

“Don’t act surprised, we have a daughter between us. I don’t see the point in lying or denying my feelings for you.” What? Where did that come from?

“But… I saw you. With her.” When Sakura went back to tell Sasuke the news of Sarada she saw him with another mershark clinging to his arms. It had only been a few weeks since Sasuke ‘broke up’ their little arrangement so of course it could only be because he met someone else.

A mershark like him, someone who could give him everything and not having to hide their relationship to the world, his family and friends. Perhaps he didn’t think she could get pregnant and have a future together. Even though rationally Sakura tried to make sense of it, the two of them finding someone their own kind but for her it was too late.

She couldn’t get rid of the baby and even if she could Sakura would refuse. Because this little one was the proof of their love and afterwards the closest thing Sakura had to Sasuke.

The mermaid was terrified, she wasn’t sure whether Sarada would fit in with the rest. How she would eat but fortunately Sarada wasn’t a fussy eater. She didn’t need fish or any type of meat to which could be because of her own DNA as Tsunade said.

‘Don’t forget she is part mermaid too, although she looks more like a mershark, she is neither a full mershark nor mermaid.’ Hearing those words made Sakura’s heart swell. Because again Sarada was proof of their love and yet it was so painful too.

Because she could never meet her father.

“You cheated on me, you broke my heart. What do you mean you-”

“I never cheated on you. Yes, I wanted to hurt you, I want you to think that way and see me with someone else.”

“Why?” How could he be so cruel?

“Because then it would be easier for you to hate me. To stay away and never come back. I couldn’t have you come back. They knew! My parents, Orochimaru, everyone.” There was no coming back from it.

“I didn’t have a choice, if I left you alone, they wouldn’t harm you. They’ll let you be, they even promised on leaving your family and friends alone. I couldn’t turn down their offer, I wanted to protect you!” Even if she still hated him, Sasuke wouldn’t blame her, but he would not regret protecting her from his family. Everyone now, including the sharklings knew of the mershark that mated with the mermaid. Sasuke would not deny it, but he could at least act aloof and uncaring towards her now, or so he thought.

With Sarada in the picture… what use is there on pretending. If he knew beforehand, could they have swum off together and start a new life? It wouldn’t be fair to Sarada as she would be lonely with no friends but at least he can keep them away and safe from his family.

From any sharks that would dare to harm them.

“You… no you don’t get to do this. You don’t get to swim back in my life and act like nothing’s happened. I refuse.” Her head was spinning, and heart ached, this is exactly what she wanted but everything was happening too fast. Sarada didn’t know who her father was one minute and now he was here. Sakura hadn’t seen Sasuke in years and for the longest time thought he was with someone else, that he wanted to have Sarada here, to be raised with another mershark who was his mate and now he’s saying all these sweet nothings to her.

That he had always loved her?

Sakura swam around him determined on looking for their daughter, yet the two didn’t seem to notice other sharks nearby and as she was swimming fast to get away from him, she almost swam into them.

It wasn’t until Sakura felt a tug on her arm from Sasuke pulling her closer to his body. Damn him and his speed but before she could react in any sort of way his fangs went to her neck and bit her hard. Sakura let out a yelp at the pain, but it was enough to stop the other sharks from going near them. Assuming she was already caught and his meal instead, Sasuke looked at them sharply with a glare. It was enough to scare them away fleeing and making sure the area was clear he tore his fangs away from her but he still held her close. They hadn’t had this type of physical contact for years.

Sakura groaned at the stinging sensation rubbing her neck.

“That fucking hurt you asshole!” Plus was going to leave a mark too.

“Your used to it.” He shrugged letting her go swimming ahead. Her face flushed instantly knowing exactly what he was referring to. Sakura had a good mind to smack him.

“I’m not lying either, you can believe me or not. Hate me even but I will kill anyone before they go near you or Sarada.” Because in Sasuke’s eyes out of the three of them, the one who should get punished is him. Not his daughter who is innocent in any of this or Sakura who was his light.

They were both young and didn’t know any better but getting older Sasuke should have. He was above her. If anyone was going to pay it would be him.

She didn’t doubt him for a second, his words had her frozen in place. She wanted to say something, have a snarky comeback but a scream that sent a dreaded chill down her spine interrupted her thoughts.

“Sarada!” Sakura quickly swam ahead recognising her voice.

She needed to save her baby.

Next not-romantic Scene.

Why are people using this scene to ship Sasuke and Sakura? Like for real...

Sasuke made his decision to leave by then. He doesn't really care about her since he has been retraumatized. Look at his annoyed expression when he sees her.

Sakura admits to having been watching this road... Which is... Not what people in a loving relationship should be doing.

First, she is worn out and worried to death.

Second, if there is some sort of deeper bond, they can usually talk to each other.

Third, if she was that worried about him leaving, she should have approached both Naruto and Kakashi and asked them for intervention. I don't get why she thinks she can stop Sasuke solo at this point tbh.

Well, Sasuke tells her more or less politely to mind her own business... Also not very romantic. He doesn't change his way for her.

Again, he rejects her. This is painful. Maybe Sasuke is being a jerk, or maybe Sakura is being too pushy with him, besides his rejection. In both ways, it doesn't seem very loving...

Afterward, she goes on to say:

You always act like I am bothering you! But do you remember our first real conversation? You blew up in my face and told me that I make you sick!

Sakura... what? This is not a loving memory.

And Sasuke is just like: I don't remember that.

And then Sakura is like: Well eh, going on missions together was fun.

Sasuke looks torn here.

She says this... And... It could have been something cute like: "We should have more fun together, stay together, blablabla" but she only thinks about her own feelings here.

It is manipulative. We know that Sakura can be quite manipulative, as we see later in her declaration to Naruto, but this again, is about how she feels, not about how Sasuke feels.

Sasuke takes his time to explain his feelings. He has made up his mind. He is hurt and lived through the genocide again... He would need some serious help here... But instead, we have Sakura saying THIS:

Once again, she is comparing the involuntary genocide of his entire fucking family, the betrayal of his big brother to what? Her being lonely because her crush is leaving on his own account? This is actually insulting and lacks so much empathy and understanding on her side...

Sasuke is still being considerate here...

And Sakura, instead of understanding, and offering support just screams that she is in love with him... Once again, everything is about her... I get that she loves him and she tries her best to make him happy... It is just that she doesn't understand him, so she won't be able to make him happy. I actually feel sorry for her here.

So she screams how much she loves him and how she wants to make him happy and help him. And Sasuke just calls her annoying and turns away. That is a freaking hurtful rejection.

And now Sakura just gets possessive and disrespectful. Sasuke is lost, about to commit treason and to go to the freaking snake man who wants to possess his body and Sakura only thinks about how she doesn't want him to leave her. Hell, she even offers to go to Orochimaru with him. She doesn't fucking care about anyone, not her parents, not Ino, not Naruto, not Sasuke, only herself and her obsession with Sasuke.

Sasuke is a good-mannered boy and at least says thank you (for caring), before punching her unconscious so she stops making a fuss. Then he leaves and never really thinks of her again, tries to kill her 2 times, would let her fall into lava, AND THEN GETS HER PREGNANT AND LEAVE HER AND HIS CHILD ALONE FOR 12 YEARS.

shikamaru and temari- def actually would. i agree. bc of the thing with asuma and mirai, shikamaru is one of the central characters to the theme of growing up from being taught into a teacher and making a world for today's kids to grow up in thats better than the one you grew up in. he likes kids and is good with kids. temari is the type to not super like kids in a general sense and she's not THAT good with them, but she thinks her own kid is the greatest thing in the whole world and better than every other kid that exists. kids like her because of her cool air but she doesnt get why since she's not that attentive to kids that aren't hers. she'd give shikadai cool hairstyles

naruto- he really loves kids but recognizes that he's too busy to be able to give all his attention to raising one, so he settles for visiting the school a Lot and being the cool uncle to his friends' kids, which he does pretty effortlessly. unmarried, not interested in getting married, his best friend is sasuke

sasuke- NO what the fuck.... he would not. he doesn't really care for kids and by design of his JOB is on the move constantly. he knows he couldn't raise a kid and it never even crosses his mind that thats even a thing potentially on the table. unmarried, not interested in getting married, his best friend is naruto

I don’t think people really understand that Kabuto himself is what you put in him, he reflects who he works for, he is told to act and behave according to the mission, and because he has a barely sense of self.  Any kind of improvements will always come off as awkward and not as impressive as his peers.  And because he has literally spied on the ENTIRE 5 NATIONS, he also has taken on so many identities and personalities that he had almost lost himself several times.  The perfect example would be that movie Spirited Away where a little girl named Chihiro almost lost her name after being called “Sin” for merely a few days.  Kabuto has been doing that FOR YEARS since he was a child and still managed to remember and keep his name!

And as for his backstory, while of course it doesn’t excuse that he should’ve been thrown in prison for the crimes he did. In the end, he was still a victim who was manipulated during his worst moments of his life and it’s seems intentional on Orochimaru’s part and it doesn’t seem to show that he’s apologetic about it. More like he’s “proud” that Kabuto has found his true self and that he’s not needed anymore despite the fact that HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING KABUTO LIKE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

 A twisted version of a friend being proud of their friend for getting better.  

Kabuto has ALWAYS been a good, hospitable, and kind person deep down. But again, because of the world they live in. He absolutely can’t let his emotions get in the way of the cruel world of Naruto.  The reasons why he’s a bully in the first place is because he was envious of people with kekki genkai and other special people who make a name for themselves.  And that shit is relatable to everyone who is lacking in something in their life! (Have you ever been envious of someone who was rich/popular/had a good family/married to a great person/happy? And don’t lie to yourself. ) 

As for being a hypocrite? Do you know who’s the BIGGEST HYPOCRITE was?

They had the nerve to say that there are some things that having powers or abilities cannot change. And while it was sweet that Itachi wanted to help him see his worth, but it really doesn’t sound good coming from a gifted person like him. Since Itachi has absolute NO IDEA how Kabuto feels as Itachi carried on and USED his name and kekki genkai to solve his problems.

Imagine a rich and popular person telling you that you are good as you are and that there are things that money can’t buy and to be happy with what you have. But everyone knows damn well that having money and a good family name and reputation would improve and help you and your family and friends in more ways that the rich person doesn’t seem to understand or even thought about.  

 And last but certainly not least. Kabuto’s not “hot”? I can assume that whoever thinks that probably is the type to focus on the appearance. Kabuto’s appearance is simple and normal. Not this fantasy beautiful unreachable God that many of the fans often love to write fanfiction and fantasize about.   Kabuto literally looks like your neighbor that you could actually marry and have a happy normal life!  He’s not beautiful or outrageous looking because if he was too beautiful or loud, he wouldn’t be doing a good job as a spy as a spy is SUPPOSED to fit in and not stand out too much.  A fact that the Naruto series tends to ignore despite it being a show about NINJAS!    But yes, keep humping your Itachi and Madara body pillows. Especially when one has cancer, and is a chronic liar and the other is a sexist, abusive (obviously gay) bastard. Guess which one is which. 

Whether you read this or not, here’s the truth. 

Kabuto is perfect as his is with all of his good qualities and flaws, and he does not need you or anyone else to tell him otherwise. There’s a reason why there’s a saying, “Kings and Queens Don’t Compete and Waste Their Time With Hoes and Peasants.”

Character Roundups Round 5: Orochimaru

I had planned to do one of these for Orochimaru since he does interact a lot with Sasuke and he is a Sasuke parallel, but thinking about it he didn't really fit the format I came up with at least not in an interesting way. So I was going to skip him, but really there's something I want to talk about in regards to Orochimaru. Let's call it...the Orochimaru Problem.

The problem with Orochimaru is he comes in as this scary big bad that even Kakashi is afraid of and then by the end he's, well, a joke. I suppose that's par for the course for some media, particularly ones that don't care about their characters, but what really bugs me here is that Sasuke did WAY WAYYYYY less bad things than Orochimaru. Orochimaru was out here experimenting on people, imprisoning people, kidnapping children, murdering people, attempting to start a war (not that Konoha didn't deserve it a little bit but the reason they did deserve it wasn't because they didn't make Orochimaru hokage). And I was fine with the scene of child Orochimaru and the snake when he died because one it was a nice character moment in Naruto and those rarely happen and I didn't feel like we were supposed to feel sad for him, just understand him better. But when Orochimaru gets back the narrative acts like he's a harmless weirdo despite all of the above and makes a joke about him wanting Sasuke's body still.

What gets me about that besides the fact that Konoha just lets him do whatever, is that Sasuke apparently still needs his ~redemption~ for being "bad"? Sasuke is ~lucky~ that Naruto was ~vouching~ for him or else they would have thrown him in jail??? Bitch, Orochimaru, child abuser, murderer, war mongerer, is right there are you guys aren't doing shit about it why does SASUKE need vouching for? For being mad that he's a genocide victim. And furthermore is really retroactively fucks with the narrative acting like Sasuke defecting to Orochimaru was this terrible thing. On every reread when everyone is saying how horrible it is that Sasuke went to Orochimaru the only thing I can think of is "well, you guys aren't going to be giving a shit what Orochimaru does in a few years so who cares." Defanging a villain is one thing, but acting like he's less bad than someone who actually had a point because the author just started pretending he wasn't that bad is bullshit.

the problem with the first argument, in my opinion, is that it lacks complete empathy in the way victims of trauma act. people essentially compare sasuke’s trauma to others that also bear it in order to say “hey they’re a good victim, why isn’t he one too?” which is just so totally crazy. sasuke isn’t a “perfect survivor” (who is?) he can be brash, off putting, etc. but these people fail to understand that if most people went through what sasuke went through, they would be too. shit, i probably wouldn’t even be able to get out of bed for the rest of my life if i went through what he went through.

he’s not just a survivor of seeing all of the uchiha clan massacre happen, he’s also a survivor of torture. a little child, barely old enough to understand what happened. that is my gripe with these people. and i see so many of these same people who criticize sasuke for how he acted, have empathy and stan for sakura of all people, saying she’s a girlboss and saying sasuke treated her terribly. as though she wasn’t the one CONSTANTLY forcing her feelings onto him, and anything he did back (like her trying to kill him first) was merely retaliatory

and i know fiction and reality don’t necessarily go hand and hand with each other, but it makes me wonder how these people would react to an actual survivor of genocide being angry at the system that failed them, and wanting revenge?

the 2nd example, fair enough. it’s just i see these same people have love for characters like megumi from jjk, who i would argue is quite like sasuke, in terms of personality. but yeah, maybe you’re right and the anime archetype is the main culprit for this one. i have a theory on this gripe in particular i’ll bring up at the end, because i think it’s what’s most likely

for the 3rd argument in regards to team taka and karin, i understand that. in the tags of my op post i actually said that’s something i understand people disliking sasuke for (stabbing karin to get to danzo) because that’s a moment i really hate and think was totally unnecessary for him to do

but i kind of have to agree with @the-real-sasuke-uchiha for the team 7 argument. to say “fuck em” to anyone that cares about you isn’t a great mentality. but this isn’t what sasuke was doing. these people (naruto half excluded) were trying to bring sasuke back, kicking and screaming, to the village that condoned the massacre of his entire clan. now we can argue that’s for a good reason (as orochimaru is a terrible influence and would just end up hurting sasuke), but (once again, naruto excluded) the thing that mainly gets me here is the lack of empathy for sasuke’s reasoning and experience. sakura in particular never understood sasuke as a person, just her own wants and desires, so why should he care about what the hell she wants? and i think in most of these situations with her, she made the first blow (like when she tried to poison sasuke, so he retaliated, and kakashi was all HEY SASUKE WHY DID YOU TRY TO KILL SAKURA😭)

naruto, i more so understand this argument, as he grew to understand sasuke more, he became more empathetic in wanting to bring sasuke back. but i don’t think he treated naruto harshly? the usuratonkachi stuff was childish banter turned affectionate, and sasuke showed he loved and cared for naruto many times like when he jumped in front of haku’s needles to save naruto’s life. in regards to naruto giving up his teenage years to help him, i don’t know what sasuke was supposed to do? if it’s just in terms of wanting sasuke to come back to konoha in shippuden, that wasn’t going to happen and even naruto came to understand that wasn’t going to happen. they disagreed with each other on something huge, that neither was going to budge on. i think this argument, when it comes to naruto as a character, just shows people’s lack of understanding when it comes to their dynamic. and also kind of takes away agency from naruto, people that make this argument act as though sasuke was forcing naruto to do all of this outside of his own volition, and that’s just not true. sasuke was important to naruto, so naruto made the decision to chase after him. but even with this, i don’t understand the reasoning, because in chapter 699/700 we can see sasuke grateful that naruto never stopped caring for him and he clearly appreciates him. this dynamic is definitely my favorite, and i think people oversimplify and misunderstand it sadly, which leads to arguments like reason 3

back to what i said before i was gonna expand on for reason 2, i think (and i’ve seen) a lot of people that watched naruto as a kid, but ended up dropping it or just not keeping up with the anime after the og naruto. so this might explain this reason a bit more. the characters in og naruto were kids, and were at the beginning of their story arc, so these people never ended up seeing them develop fully, and were kinda stuck with first impressions. sakura, in particular i see this with. i dislike sakura myself but i kind of see the whole “she made fun of an orphan to an orphan!!” argument a bit moot, there are many more things we can criticize her on, seeing as she was a kid, and that was the beginning of her characterization, not the end (not that she ended up developing as a character all that much but i digress🫢) so yeah, even though a lot of these people ended up seeing the uchiha massacre and why sasuke was the way he was, for a lot of them i theorize, this argument stems from the fact they ended up only watching half of the story. and sasuke was more “emo and edgy” at the beginning as opposed to shippuden

saying all of this, i would change my op post to say these aren’t necessarily “unvalid” reasons to dislike sasuke. but i think they are either fueled by misunderstanding of the story, a lack of empathy towards sasuke as a character, or just preference for other characters and bias towards him. those are just the most popular reasonings i see why people dislike him, and in a way it does make me sad because i think he’s such a nuanced, complex character, and one kishi put a lot of heart into writing

istg i’ve never seen a valid reason used by someone explained why they hate sasuke.

90% of the time it’s basically them saying he didn’t react to trauma the way they wanted him to (or doing trauma olympics using naruto, gaara, kakashi, etc as examples of “thEIr TrAUmA DiDN’t TUrN thEm iNtO aSSHOLes”)

5% is again, using very valid trauma from a 7 year old witnessing the death of their entire clan by their brother and being forced to relive it for 3 days, as a way to say he’s “too edgy and emo”

and the other 5% is used by shippers (mainly SS), shaming him for not reciprocating feelings he never felt for the other character

this is legitimately one of my top five favorite kakashi scenes.

i love seeing kakashi break the rules in the name of doing the right thing, and this scene especially is particularly satisfying to me, because his moment of defiance here is, to my mind, long overdue.  

one of my eternal frustrations in early naruto is how the leaf village administration gives kakashi the job of caring for a group of super high-needs children and then continually makes that job as difficult for him as possible.  they task him with being solely responsible for the development and well-being of three twelve year-olds - a group that includes naruto (a walking disaster with a god’s power trapped inside his body) and sasuke (a genocide survivor fixated on killing his own brother), BOTH of whom are being hunted by different groups of supercriminals - and then the village keeps getting in kakashi’s way or dropping the ball or actively ordering him to prioritize other things.  

so much of what goes wrong with the kids in this period is the result of other people interfering with kakashi’s work or being negligent or endangering the kids/putting kakashi in impossible positions.  team 7’s first big mission sets the tone for everything that comes after, with someone else’s lie putting kakashi in a situation where he has to single-handedly protect not just the client who deceived him, but the three children who were supposed to be the clients’ other protectors.  and after that, the list just multiplies:

ten anbu operatives can’t manage to protect sasuke’s hospital room from orochimaru’s minions, so kakashi has to do it himself and then whisk sasuke out of the village for a month, leaving naruto in the hands of a substitute and sakura with her parents

genma orders sasuke to chase after gaara when the chunin exams blow up, saying “you’re at chunin level already,” which forces kakashi to immediately dispatch more kids to bring him back, because “ffs NO i do NOT want him out there doing that why the fuck would you tell him to do that?!” 

aoba runs his mouth off about itachi when sasuke is standing RIGHT THERE, instantly undoing all the work kakashi just did to prevent itachi and sasuke from coming anywhere near each other (and thus sending sasuke to that disastrous first encounter, the outcome of which ultimately leads to sasuke’s defection)

jiraiya decides he should let sasuke try to fight itachi himself, “out of respect for the boy’s feelings,” leading to sasuke ending up in a tsukuyomi coma

tsunade orders kakashi to drop his teaching work and leave the village on a mission even though a) he’s just gotten out of his own torture-induced coma and b) sasuke is having a crisis that kakashi is trying to manage

and then when kakashi gets back from that mission and finds out that surprise, all of this meddling has led to a disaster, tsunade tries to order him away AGAIN

but this time - he just says no.

he walks right out of her office.  he turns his back on her.  and there is NOTHING i love more than seeing kakashi embody the philosophy that he’s chosen to adopt as his guiding light: those who break the rules are scum.  but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum.

it’s not that he doesn’t understand where tsunade is coming from here.  but he knows she’s wrong.  she’s making her decisions based solely on concerns about the Leaf Village being in a tight spot - feeling like they can’t turn down missions because they’ll appear weak and thus become vulnerable to attack when they’re already operating at half strength.  she sends a group of twelve year-olds to bring sasuke back because supposedly the village can’t spare anyone else, “even if it means letting the sharingan fall into orochimaru’s hands” - but like.  it’s not the sharingan.  it’s a child.  sasuke isn’t just a repository for his hereditary jutsu; he’s not a pair of eyes to be passed around from one wielder to the next.  he’s a human child.  

tsunade doesn’t know sasuke.  she’s new to the situation and doesn’t know enough about it to understand how serious it is.  i don’t even think she was still in the village when the uchiha massacre occurred; the timeline makes it sound like she left long before that.  she doesn’t really understand who sasuke is or how much trouble he’s in - she makes her decision because she feels like her first priority has to be the well-being of the Leaf as a whole, not the individual people who comprise it.  kakashi, though, who a) lives his life by a very different philosophy and b) does understand sasuke’s situation, would not have dealt with the issue like this, and if the village had let him do his job from the beginning, things wouldn’t have gotten to this point in the first place.

kakashi is horrified that tsunade sent a bunch of twelve year-olds out to fight orochimaru’s ninja, and i think he’s also probably angry and/or frustrated about having been ordered out of the village in the first place.  he was dealing with the situation before tsunade sent him away.  he interrupted the fight between sasuke and naruto even though he himself had literally just gotten out of the hospital, and then he continued addressing the issue with sasuke privately (unlike jiraiya’s non-attempt to address it with naruto, when he said he was going to give naruto a talking-to but actually flaked out).  kakashi knew sasuke was struggling, and he was doing all the things a teacher is supposed to do to address it, but then he was ordered away, and even though it was just for two days, it was enough time for everything to go to hell.

if people would just let him do his job - if the administration would let him focus on the task they themselves assigned to him - things would be different.  but everybody wants him to do everything.  they want him to be everywhere.  they want him to protect the nine-tails jinchuriki (who is also kakashi’s dead teacher’s son), and train the last surviving uchiha (which is a task only kakashi and his sharingan can perform), and give equal attention to a third kid, for good measure, and they want him to do it without stepping away from any of his other burdens, all while other people around him constantly frustrate the progress he makes.

so this time, when tsunade tries to send him away, he refuses.  he disobeys her orders and walks out of the room.  he doesn’t care about the rules or what he’s “legally” obligated to do.  he knows what the RIGHT thing to do is, and so he rejects his new mission in favor of rescuing the kids.

i love these moments.  i love when we’re shown so clearly the person kakashi has chosen to be - someone who does what’s right, not just what he’s told.  he made an active choice many years ago to adopt that philosophy, and he’s been living by those new rules ever since.  he's wiser now than he was when he was a child - sometimes you have to break ranks to do the right thing.  sometimes you have to buck the system, even if it means you might face severe personal consequences.

he had one of two choices: either save the mission or his comrades.  of course, according to the law of the village, you cannot abandon a mission.  but to save the life of his comrades, he put the mission on hold.

kakashi may have spent a good chunk of his childhood trying to reject everything the subject of that story stood for, but none of his attempts to harden his heart ever stuck.  he is, in the end, his father’s son.

Naruto hot takes part 3: can I PLEASE get a waffle?

1) Kushina and Minato’s relationship was so fucked up. Like seriously she was a genocide survivor and he was a literal war criminal who killed thousands of people. 2) Also the fucking power imbalance - Minato was a prodigy, chosen young to be the Third Hokage’s successor, had close ties to the three Sannin aka the most powerful ninja in Konoha, and seemed to have some connection to the Second Hokage. Kushina may have been a Jinjuuriki, but she was also a refugee without a family or connections. 3) Also Minato was probably a psychopath lmao. He literally doesn’t care about anyone’s problems unless they’re shoved in his face, has no reaction to two of his students literally dying, and puts the third one - as a traumatized child - in murder corps. 4) Yk if he was alive he probably would have been a dad in a similar way as Principal Asano from Assassination Classroom. 5) Konoha probably had a part to play in Ushizo’s demise and it’s why no one ever mentions them despite that the literal Hokage was married to an Uzumaki. 6) Sasuke isn’t the amazing radical savior his fandom think he is lol. 7) Yeah, he was the closest to a radical character throughout the series, but the second he found out why Itachi decided killing his whole clan was a good idea he immediately sided with him and never questioned any of his decisions. When he did claim to want a revolution, his ideas were a) becoming a dictator (Kage) or b) killing everyone in Konoha. 8) He has every right to be mad and you could probably make him an actual revolutionary easily, but still lol. 9) Shikaku was a kind of bad dad based on what hints we get of Shikamaru’s home life. 10) Literally everyone’s characterization - Sakura included - was more interesting, well rounded, and had more potential in Part 1 than Part 2. 11) Sakura should have been a ROOT agent. It makes a lot of sense, especially in Part 1. 12) For how interesting Sai’s backstory was there was very little point to his character. The only reason he was there was to be Sasuke’s replacement. 13) The fact that he could have and should have been more is true, but he wasn’t. 14) Tsunade had a shit ton of privilege as both a Senju and the granddaughter of the First Hokage and that really should have been explored. 15) Both Jiraiya and Orochimaru give me pedophile vibes and I do not like it. 16) There was literally no reason why basically all of the Rookie 9 had to be clan heirs. It makes no sense. 17) Sarutobi Hiruzen was probably senile and should probably never be seen ever again. Please someone destroy his face on that stupid Hokage Wall or whatever it’s called. 18) Hashirama wasn’t the happy-go-lucky guy everyone seems to think he is lol. He was manipulative as hell and probably killed a shit ton of people. 19) The Last is a really stupid movie that showcases all of Studio Perriot’s fetishes in like two hours. 20) The one thing that is realistic is Hinata caring more about knitting a scarf for ‘N-naruto kun’ than her sister being kidnapped. 21) Both Sakura and Hinata are shittily written characters who’s entire arcs in-story revolve around guys. The difference is Hinata is a slave owner and Sakura knows jack shit about politics because no one tells her anything. 22) Hey Kishimoto give your main heroine an actual fucking thematic and plot relevant role that makes her equal to her male teammates as she’s literally supposed to be as their deuteragonist challenge. 23) Oh yeah Rin being a ROOT agent also makes a lot of sense. 24) Please sort out Naruto’s backstory. Did he have no friends or were Shikamaru, Kiba, and Chouji his friends? Did he not give a shit about Hinata or did he save her from a copy-pasted version of Sakura’s backstory? Please. 25) Naruto isn’t empathetic at all he just trauma dumps on everyone and expects them to gush over his oh-so-sad backstory because he had it the worst out of everyone, awwww. 26) And the worst part is it works lmaoo. 27) Kakashi has white man energy. 28) The whole reincarnation plotline was stupid and added absolutely nothing other than making Naruto’s whole thing about being an ‘underdog’ even more obsolete as he was literally destined for power. 29) Honestly if the ramen girl (Ayame?) was younger I probably would have shipped her and Naruto. It would’ve been cute. 30) Fugaku wasn’t abusive lol. Yeah, he wasn’t a perfect dad, but he did care about his kids and didn’t purposefully hurt them. The only reason people make him out to be Sasuke’s abuser is so they can make Itachi into this uwu savior instead of a nationalist responsible for a genocide.

Mitsuki ♡

Mitsuki is a confusing one, because of how well of a poker face he has and how most of the time it’s hard to genuinely tell what emotion he’s feeling if you’re not used to his zany quirks it can be hard

Because of this it would be hard to pick up on Mitsuki’s yandere tendencies because he can suddenly appear next to you leaning close to your face and say “You took a different path to school today” and you just chuckle, classic Mitsuki 

Because of his usually blunt tone a lot of people don’t realize he’s joking, which can lead to his comments being taken at face value, but since you’re his friend you can most likely tell when he’s joking if you’ve hung around him long enough 

He does watch you though, he can go undetected for ages, it’s a mixture of making sure your safe and just wanting to be near you. He loves to watch you go about your daily life, He’s like a bigger stalker than his dad/mum. You think Orochimaru was sus for what he said about wanting Sasuke? Yeah think of that but it actually is as weird as you think it is

That mixed with your shy nature means he really likes to tease you, lingering touches, whispering stuff in your ear, or when you’re training together he’ll stand close behind you and grab your hand showing you how to properly do it

He’s always watching out for you, making an assumption you’re on his team going missions / stupid adventures with him he’s always going to be keeping you within touching distance / the corner of his eye

He doesn’t like it when you’re not close by but that isn’t much of a problem for him given his stretchy jutsu it doesn’t matter if your halfway across the room he’ll just reach over wrap his arms around you and pull you close to him, he tries to avoid touching more intimate parts but in the middle of a battle it can lead to mistakes, but unlike most yandere’s he fully doesn’t mean this, (but he’ll enjoy it) I mean his ‘Aunty’ in a way is Karin, and you really think she wouldn’t teach him to respect women?

He’s very clingy, but he’s always subtle enough about it to make people think their just subtle friendship touches, but lingering just enough to make your face blush and your mind start to race, he loves to see how quickly you spiral into a mess when he simply lays his hand on your shoulder

You weren’t quite sure how you ended up in this situation, you never were honestly but you had a slight hunch it had to do with being friends with Konoha’s star problem child, an Uchiha and the living embodiment of why the word personal space was invented.

But that still didn’t explain why you had to be handing by your ankle upside down next to the stone face of said problem child’s father.

How did this happen you may ask?

Boruto.

That’s all that needs to be said.

But if you want details Boruto wanted to deface his fathers...well face, you and Sarada were trying to stop his dumb-ass you both nearly got caught in one of the traps he’d laid. By sending a shadow clone to make it look like he was doing the graffiti in real time so when his dad came to stop him he’d be able to sneak attack him. However before he could show up you and Sarada did leading to the three of you to get in a fight, and just as Sarada chased after a fleeing Boruto you got caught in one of his snares.

Now usually you’d be able to get out of something as simple as this, but of course Boruto had infused it with his lightning chakra so you weren’t able to cut it without getting a shock.

So there you were

Stuck.

You were starting to wonder if Sarada was going to come back for you or if you’d be stuck here all night, it was gonna get cold soon and you were hungry...damn you would love to each some barbeque meat right now, you bet Chocho was out with her dad right now feasting on all sorts of delicious well flavoured well seasoned-

“Hey there~”

You jolted, leading to your body swinging side to side lightly nearly hitting the boy in the process, he grabbed a hold of your arm to hold you steady

“You seem to be in quite the situation, how did this happen?” He asked, looking up at you smiling, you rolled your eyes at his comment,

“Boruto happened”

“Ah” he laughed “that explains everything, but-” he paused, reaching his hand up he rested it on your cheek, “your face is quite red, are you feeling okay?”

Your eyes widened slightly, you were sure your heat wasn’t suppose to beat that fast but you were suddenly thankful Boruto trap had you upside down.

“I’m upside down Mitsuki” you frowned slightly, you’d never usually be this bold but the blood rushing to your brain and the fact the only thing keeping you from falling to the ground was something Boruto made. “the bloods rushing to my head and unless you get me down soon you’ll be charged will telling my grieving parents whose responsible for their little girls death”

He laughed once more, innocently smiling up at you “you are aware I would be able to catch you with my jutsu, and I know with your skills you could catch yourself as well, so why the urgency to get down?”

You huffed, embarrassed at how easily you always let this boy push your buttons; something Sarada always chastised you for, but usually all it took was for you to mention Boruto and she shut up real fast, or slap you on the head and with her mother’s strength you always preferred the former option.

“Why don’t you switch places with me and then tell me whose acting urgently”

He chuckled at your response, before raising his hands in a mock surrender

“Alright fine”

The feeling of your feet on solid ground was reliving to say the least, but the head rush that came wish it was irritating to say the least. You felt your body sway slightly in response to the dizziness but you felt your body come to a still before your mind did; leading to confusion.

Feeling your body come to rest against something soft but firm you looked up to meet the snakelike eyes of Mitsuki.

His usual blank smile was replace with a smug one “You feeling alright (y/n)?”

Once again your heart sped up against your own wishes and you pushed yourself away from him and tried to think of something, anything else that would distract you from the obvious heat running to your face.

The sun was beginning to set, you hadn’t even realized being so preoccupied with Mitsuki you had only noticed when the suns golden rays lay to rest on your face,

‘I should get home’ you thought sadly, enjoying your time with him, but before you could speak he did

“Are you hungry (y/n)?” He asked, tilting his head slightly

You flushed slightly at the idea of eating food with him, but before your brain could send a complete sentence to your mouth your stomach answered for you with a loud yes.

You blushed heavier as he laughed

“I’m going to take that as a yes, come on, let’s go to Ichiraku ramen”

You smiled, a little embarrassed but way more hungry and excited to spend time with him

“Sure! That’s actually my favourite place to eat, I go there whenever I can”

He smiled and grabbed your hand, then jumped down to the rooftops below

“I know”

Much like his father he’s got resting bitch face and saying what’s on his mind and he got his sass from the both of them honestly so like his mum was the baddest bitch in konoha and his dad wore crop tops before they were popular trying to have himself a hot girl summer so to be his friend you have to be used to his attitude

Unlike Mitsuki Inojin will be more likely to figure out your true feelings, but he isn’t going to act on them straight away no its way more fun to see you get flustered 

But that doesn’t mean he’s going to be a dick about it (most of the time) because he actually does like you....a lot. so even if he teases you sometimes you know you can go to him whenever you need a problem

Inojin will also be more likely to help you get out of your shell, by teasing you and being himself you’ll see him less as the perfect version of him as people do with their crushes and instead see him as he is, therefore less likely to be nervous in front of him 

He likes to draw you, though he’s not obsessed with doing it as he feels he could never incorporate how he see’s you accurately into his drawings but he also likes to watch you

Inojin at his core is scared, scared you’ll find someone nicer, scared it’s just puppy love, scared of it all, He wants to pull you close to him and at the same time keep you at arms length

He’s a tough one to crack because he knows what he wants but at the same time he doesn’t

He knows he loves you, He knows he wants to be with you but he doesn’t know how he could be upfront with you without you doing the same, Unless he knows you won’t be just another reason he’s closed off

You rolled over nearly hitting your head on the wall in the process, changing your reading position again. you’d just finished a good chapter in your book when you looked over at Inojin who was happily drawing on a his beanbag in the middle of the room. 

You liked moments like this, where you both could do your own thing in each others presence freely. to you it showed how far you two became as friends, as Inojin didn’t feel the need to put up a front in front of you, sometimes he just didn’t feel like being social and that was okay with you, but when you offered to leave he objected quickly

“No, I enjoy your presence”

So you happily stayed. 

“How’s the book?” Inojin asked, disrupting the silence to look over at you

You raised your eyebrow slightly, it had been silent for nearly an hour, why now did he feel the need to break it now?

Noticing your expression he chuckled under his breath and smiled 

“You’ve been changing your reading position more often, usually you do it every twenty to fourty five pages, now you’re doing it every twenty five to thirty pages and the more you move the more you’re thinking about something”

You laughed, blushed slightly as you hadn’t realized he had been paying attention to you that whole time, and how many times had he considering how long it would usually take the work out the average of how many times someone moves after turning a goddamn page!?? 

He cleared his throat, and you realized you still hadn’t answered him 

“Oh! Um, yes, It’s, It’s getting really good! all the little plot points are starting to link up and make sense, but....how long did it take you to count my pages?”

He smiled, putting down his pencil, a big sign of respect to you on his part “I didn’t”

“Then how?”

“I learnt a long time ago from Shikadai if you ever want to sound smart just say something that’s grounded in reality that you know the other person isn’t likely to know”

You laughed, that was so like Shikadai “and why do you want me to think you’re smart?”

He rolled his eyes picking up his pencil again “You’ve seen me drink ink my mistake and draw in milk I think that trains left the station”

You couldn’t help but cackle at the memory, you and Chocho never let him live that down, but he seemed to tolerate you bringing it up more than he did with Chocho.

“What’cha drawing?” You asked, rolling over so you were looking at him the right way up, on your stomach propped up by your elbows instead of lying on your back 

He looked back up at you, then down at the drawing 

“Something very precious to me”

Your interest was peaked 

“Can I see?”

He smiled, “not yet, It’s not ready to be seen yet”

You frowned, “when will it?”

He shrugged his shoulders “I don’t know”

“Promise me when it’s I’ll be the first to see!” You smiled, holding out your pinky

usually you would’ve been embarrassed to be so upfront with someone, especially your crush, but you figured, with the amount of time you spend with Inojin and that both his parents know you personally, he must at least consider you a friend, and as long as you got to be near him you didn’t mind. 

He looked at you, then down at his art once more, the charcoal pencil had dropped to the floor as he scanned over the details, no matter how many times he tried he could never get the look of happiness on your face quite right.

he looked back up at you, your smile, your eyes, your expression all looked so much better in reality than they did on paper, 

Interlocking his finger in yours that familiar feeling he felt when he was with you came back, your skin was so warm and comforting, a direct contrast to the cool unfamiliar texture of the paper.

“I promise”

Shikadai ♡

Alright let’s get this out of the way first and foremost, Shikadai is like his father. He is smart, and while out of the three of them he’s most likely to realize your feelings from an intellectual standpoint, remember that episode where Shikamaru asks Temari to go with him to look at good places for a honeymoon for Naruto and Hinata’s wedding but FORGETS TO MENTION ITS FOR THEIR WEDDING??? AND IS CONFUSED WHEN THE WOMAN IS FLUSTERED, NEVER FIGURES IT OUT AND IS CONFUSED WHEN SHE BITCH SLAPS HIM WHEN SHE REALIZES IT FOR THE WEDDING?

Yeah Shikadai got the pure dumbassery when it comes to women from his dad 

He’s still most likely to figure it out but unlike the others he isn’t going to use it to his advantage, if anything it’s going to make him less jealous, you like him, he likes you why would anyone else get in the way? (uh maybe because you haven’t TOLD her you dumbass smh)

He will enjoy it, knowing you like him will make it so much easier 

Also unlike the others Shikadai won’t make an effort to tease you, while he might do it sometimes when he’s in a more playful mood 

He doesn’t mind if your shy, in fact he’s probably the easier to break out of your shell with how laid back he can be and how genuine he is with people it can be easy to be genuine in return

The ino-shika-cho squad is like low-key your protection squad, Chocho will always be there to defend you from assholes and give you food / hype you up, Inojin will vent with you and genuinely go for peoples throats it makes you realize how much outta pocket shit he doesn’t say, and Shikadai is always the one who cools things down if there’s an altercation but also the first to get you away from it, doesn’t matter how involved you are he will also make himself the villain, you can be arguing with your mother and he’ll swoop in and grab you by the shoulders and say some stupid shit like “I can’t find Chocho help me” and most of the time his bullshit excuses are see though seeing as at that time Chocho was literally a few seats away from you guys

You sniffled a sneeze as the summer grass tickled your nose, leaning into the grass underneath the tree that was generous enough to provide you with a pillow you smiled serenely as you looked over to a sleeping Shikadai next to you. 

You had been angry a moment ago, you had had an argument with your friend and they had said something that went too far and you needed to clear your head before you said something you’d regret, that’s when Shikadai showed up and took you to your secret place, originally his own. 

You remember how embarrassed you were the first time he’d showed you this place, you knew how much Shikadai valued his quiet time so for him to show his secret place to you.....

It was a big willow tree with a dip a few feet before the roots, that combined with the bushes and grass unless someone actually made an effort to look behind what looked like thick bush they would not find you. 

Just the way he liked it. 

A cool breeze rustled the leaves above you, not cold enough to give goosebumps or make you want a jacket but enough to feel relaxing 

The comfortable silence only filled with the sounds of the leaves rustling and Shikadai’s soft but deep breathing you closed your eyes, fully contempt to take a nap, but you we’re just about to fall into a sleepy state when the voice of said friend was calling out to you, you considered ignoring it but it seemed they wanted to apologize and make amends, and you sat up to go find them when you were grabbed by what you thought was a previously asleep Shikadai, His green eyes seemed to narrow in the direction of your friends voice as he shook his head. 

“Give it some time, they can’t just apologize after saying something like that and respect everything to be okay straight away, if you forgive them straight away they’ll see it as a sign they can do it again”

“Are you sure? They sound like they really want to make amends..” 

He made what sounded like the mixture of a snort and a huff “easy to want that when you weren’t the one effected by the words”

You frowned slightly, He was right, he usually was but you still felt bad leaving your friend to look for you and worry about you, but remembering how deep their words had cut and remembering how peaceful it felt before you smiled, 

He wrapped his arms around you and gently pulled you back down leading to you resting your head on his chest as a response, and the comfortable position made it an easy choice. 

“Stay longer, It’s better with you here”

You closed your eyes listening to his heartbeat as it started to lull you to sleep and laughed lightly, “I’d rather be here with you than with them”

Before you fell asleep you felt him laugh 

“Me too”
