(otherwise known as hate names terrible at decision)
VERY pastel n rainbow overload >:)
they level 3 autistic (“requiring very substantial support”) with high support needs—meaning they cannot independently do most adaptive functioning skills, needing other people physical help to do/do for them. they also need 24/7 supervision & physical help for all iADLs & bADLs.
they nonverbal & use AAC full time. their AAC is symbol based speech generating device.
their (most likely [<haven’t decided] partner who act as their) disability caretaker is hyacinthos shinya🪻🌌.
they also full time non-ambulatory wheelchair user with very specific posture & seating positioning needs so not out of it for long or really much at all.
angel wing on back of wheelchair is power assist! is magically powered by hyacinthos (who angel) & can be powered even remotely / far away. way control wheelchair & power assist part by intuitive / hand motions & gestures / etc, part by halo hover above armrest that act as joystick. can use it like traditional joystick or wear as bracelet n control that way! Tumblr media
[character sheet. functionally described below]
top left is full character clothing (with wheelchair translucent in background) because in original there some key parts blocked by wheelchair especially arm rest.
skirt around waist have purple band with blue small ruffles. center have rainbow bow with rainbow star on top.
n also have front n back of AAC device. what drawn here is 5x7 grid with various colored squares showing different parts of speech but grid size more so because like. is how much could fit comfortably. so even when redraw n isn’t exact 5x7 with colors exactly right where is right now, is okay. colors & where they are based on own AAC device >:) because of course
design of aac device case basically same as above. back side just have bigger clouds. oh also device has handles. tho it float around so handles get used less. float around so don’t have worry about how to carry it how to mount on wheelchair etc etc etc it follows you it automatic come to your hand when you wanna say something (kinda also acting as prompting bc sometimes think about say something but don’t actually say in device) it get out way when you don’t want it. if only like this irl lol
bottom left is info about character already said

useful information: How to get a USB Blu-Ray player to work on your computer
Not a post about vintage technology, just an explanation of what you think might be simple to do but isn't: There are Blu-Ray players that plug into your computer by USB, and you discover that just plugging it in doesn't make it work* in the same manner that CD-RWs or DVD-RWs are automatically recognised and function. You will see "BR Drive" in My Computer and the name of whatever movie you have inserted, but that's as far as you're able to go.
Tumblr media
*There is software you can buy to make a Blu-Ray (internal or external) function, sure, and if an internal came with your computer it's likely already installed -- but if you're like me you don't have that software, you're cheap and won't pay for software, and you want to use what you have installed already or find free solutions.
Looking in the Blu-Ray drive's package, there's not a lot of info about what you're supposed to do. The above no-name Blu-Ray player cost $40 from a popular website; name-brand ones can set you back $120 or so. Looking around online for those instructions, I never saw the whole set of directions in one place, I had to cobble them together from 2 or 3 sites. And so here I share that list. To keep out of trouble, I'm not linking any files -- Google will help you.
Get VLC, the free video player available for pretty much any operating system. Thing is, it doesn't come with the internals to make it work with Blu-Ray even if when you go to the Play Media menu there is a radio button for selecting Blu-Ray.
Get MakeMKV, a decoder for reading Blu-Ray disks. This had been totally free during the beta testing period but it's come out and has a month or two trial period you can work in.
Get Java if you don't already have it. Reason for this is, the menu systems on Blu-Ray disks uses this... technically it's not required, however it does mean you don't have options such as special features, language and sound changes, or scene selection if you don't have Java installed; insert a disk, it can only play the movie.
Get the file libaacs.dll online so you have AACS decoding. I am told it hasn't been updated in awhile so there may be disks produced after 2013 that won't work right, but you won't know until you try.
There's a set of keys you will also want to have so that the player knows how to work with specific disks, and so do a search online for the "FindVUK Online Database". There will be a regularly-updated keydb.cfg archive file on that page to pick up.
Got those three programs installed and the other two files obtained? Okay, here are your instructions for assembly...
In VLC: go to Tools, Prefs, click "show all"… under the Input/Codecs heading is Access Modules then Blu-Ray: Select your region, A through C. You can change this if you need to for foreign disks. Next related action: go to My Computer and C:, click into Program Files and VLC, and this is where you copy the libaacs.dll file to.
In MakeMKV: click View, then Preferences, and under Integration - add VLC.
Confirm that Java is set up to work with VLC by going to the computer's Control Panel, going to System Properties, and into Environment Variables. Click System Variables, and click New to create this key if it doesn't already exist: … Name: Java … Value: [the location of the Java 'jre#.##' folder... use Browse to find it in C:\Program Files\Java]
Let's go back into My Computer and C:, this time go to Program Data, and then do a right-click in the window and select New and Folder. Rename this folder "aacs" (without the quotes), and then you click into it and copy the keydb.cfg file here.
REBOOT.
And now you should be able to recognise Blu-Ray disks in your player and play them. Three troubleshooting notes to offer in VLC:
"Disk corrupt" -- this means MakeMKV has not decoded and parsed the disk yet, or that you don't have the libaacs.dll in place so that it can decode the disk. ...After checking the VLC folder for the DLL to make sure, launch MakeMKV, then go to File, Play Disk, and select the Blu-Ray drive. Now it will grind a bit and figure out the disk's contents.
A note appears when a movie starts saying there will be no menus, but the movie plays fine -- Java isn't running. ...Invoke Java by going to the Java Settings in Start: Programs. You don't have to change anything here, so Exit, then eject the disk and put it back in to see if the movie's menu now appears.
Buffering between chapters, making the movie pause for a few seconds? There is a setting for this but I need to find that info page again for where that is. (If you find it, tell me where it is!)
I don't claim to know a lot but if you have any questions I might have some answers or suggestions. So far I've watched "Office Space" and Disney's "Coco" without any issues beside occasional buffering.

@autismswagreblogs i realised no one has done any saiki propaganda yet...
i need the internet to know that he is a non-verbal autistic who uses telepathy to beam his thoughts into peoples minds (which the fandom has aggreed is a form of AAC) alongside gestures and facial expressions (usually ones he has literally stated to have practiced in the mirror, aside of which his face is usually expressionless/blank and his 'voice' also sounds emotionless/monotone most of the time)
Tumblr media
also he supresses every emotion he ever feels bc he doesnt want to hurt anyone, and theres a manga panel where he describes not having his limiters in (which supress his powers) as being a huge robot in a city where anything he does could very easily destroy a lot of stuff (which 'feeling too big for their body' is something i have seen some autistic people describe feeling?? not too sure though)
his comfort food is coffee jelly, and im pretty sure ive seen someone say they hc him as having food as a special interest and multiple people agreed
he struggles reading peoples body language and tone without the use of his telepathy, and immediately decides he doesnt like being unable to tell what people are thinking
cant think of any more rn but will continue at some point maybe
OH YEAH HES ALWAYS WEARING GLOVES SO HE DOESNT TOUCH ANYTHING DIRECTLY WITH HIS HANDS (more bc of one of his powers, psychometry, which allows him to see an objects history when he touches it with his hands directly)

Gatekeeping communication methods = time to find a new practitioner.
[Image description: A 4 panel cartoon by Autball.
1: Two adults, one purple and one green, sit across from each other at a table and chairs in primary colors that are a bit too small for them. Purple says, “So, we’ve given it a lot of time, but speech just doesn’t seem to be coming for her. Meanwhile, I feel like a lot of her frustration comes from not being able to tell us things, so I really wanna focus on finding a better way for her to communicate with us.”
2: Same scene. Green says, “Well then you’re in the right place! We’ll do everything we can to get her communicating more effectively.”
3: Close up of Purple and Green, having a series of quick exchanges.
Purple: Great! We’ve already been trying out some signs…
Green: Oh no, that’ll discourage speech.
Purple: and I’m wondering if an AAC device might work for her…
Green: No, she’s not ready for that.
Purple: and I’ve also heard good things about Spelling to Communicate.
Green: Ha! No, that’s fake.
4: Original scene. Purple says, “So when you said you’d do everything you can…” Green replies, “Yeah, I meant speech. Just speech. Maybe some PECS along the way, but that’s just to get to speech.”]

Dead Roots, Dark Water Ch 20
Tumblr media
Keira jabbed at her keyboard, putting the door console to sleep with a sharp clack before moving to the sleek zoomer hanging from the ceiling in her 'active work' port. “You just missed Erol.” Her voice was clipped, icy. She pulled a lever and the zoomer dropped to hang at eye level. “But you already knew that.” Jak's mouth dried. He hadn't told her that he knew Erol. Had he? They hadn't talked about the Guard, the government, or anything that could've involved Erol, not during any of their late night calls. He set his AAC to hover and started typing. “What's wrong with your arm?” Some of the frost had melted from her voice. She peered around the zoomer at him, her mouth tipped into a slight frown. Of course she'd noticed right away. Jak deleted what he'd already typed and started over. “Not sure. Think I broke something.” “Well, obviously." Keira pulled a rolling chair from beside a workbench and, scowling at the pile of books and papers atop it, tipped the whole mess to the floor. She shoved the newly-vacated chair at him and hurried to the other side of the garage. “Sit. And take that jacket off.” So much for asking for her help. Jak took a seat and freed his dead arm from its sleeve. The jacket was halfway down his organic arm before he saw the gray skin and scars. He shrugged his coat back on and pulled the collar a bit tighter around his neck. Keira returned with three items: a flat metal tool that would've been more at home on an oysterer's boat than in a garage; a tiny screwdriver that was probably meant for fixing eyeglasses; and a thin length of metal that he could only describe as a comically small prybar. This being Keira, he should've been grateful that none of it looked razor-sharp or eco-powered. That didn't stop him from worrying the loose sleeve of his jacket. Malachite eyes followed the movement, roved up the sleeve of his half-on jacket. She raised one eyebrow, but made no comment as she crouched beside him and set to work on his shoulder. In Keira's hands, the strange tools became forceps and scalpels, poking and prodding and prying off panels piece by piece. As the pile of small metal plates grew on the floor beside them, Jak's arm started to feel... fuzzy. Like the nerves were being pinched, falling asleep. Could a mechanical arm go numb? There had to be something in there simulating nerves, or he wouldn't be able to channel. He'd felt it 'waking up' once, back at Tess's apartment, when she'd helped him charge it for the first time, but— A weight vanished from his right shoulder. He lurched to the side, unbalanced, and caught himself on the edge of the desk. Keira staggered to her feet, Jak's arm in her hands and a smirk on her lips. “That's for eavesdropping on me.” She hefted the prosthetic, readjusted her grip, and carried it over to the electronics workbench. “Now, let's see what's going on under the hood.”
Chapter 20 of Dead Roots, Dark Water is now LIVE on Ao3!

Chapter 19: Twisted Nerve
Tuesday I take for myself, and go to the DMV to update my State ID before counseling.
Oh, counseling, AH-HAHAHAHAA!!!
If I'm a myth, a story, maybe I should be seeing a literary analyst instead. Or an editor!
I avoid other people I know to give them their space, but I message them about it, to let them know what I’m doing. I might catch Chapman before counseling, but by then I’ll be ready for it and sie might be too. I hope. I still plan on joining Rhoda for evening tea if she invites me. She can have more space if she needs it, though.
What did I do most of yesterday, after my talk with Rhoda and the Kims?
I practiced with Wentin, and I started setting up plans to meet with the Mayor again.
I’m gonna keep glossing over practicing with Wentin. It’s an experience that I don’t need to share much of. Or want to.
It’s still a nightmare, after all.
But confessing my revelation with Rhoda and then spending time with Wentin again right after has me introspective in the lobby of the DMV.
As I’m waiting for my number, and watching other people wait, too, then to hobble or walk up to the counters, exhausted and confused, I’m asking myself questions.
For instance, if I’m a story, what’s my plot?
What are my themes? What’s my message or moral? Do I have one?
What kind of weird bullshit am I destined to experience next, as a dragon waiting in the DMV?
I’m not disguised as a human.
I actually don’t think that that would make this go easier.
I have this really weird intuition, or suspicion, that the clerk with the camera would look annoyed and ask me to take my disguise off. And I’d rather save that disguise for special occasions, like meetings with the Mayor, or showing off my favorite dress and tiara while I drink coffee in the morning.
Am I going to wear my tiara when I meet with Mayor Chisholm?
Yeah…
I’m totally going to.
But here? Nah.
It’s not that I want this to go smoothly, actually. It’s that I’m trying to choose my trials, I think. Strategically, like I’ve explained.
But, like, even if getting my ID renewed with an accurate photo of me and my new name and gender marker does go smoothly, it’s still going to be fundamentally funny.
I’m a dragon in the DMV.
It’s practically a one panel funny in the actual printed newspaper.
It’s so goofy what we call newspapers nowadays, too. And that the weekly calls itself the weekly, still, even though it updates its website every day. It just considers its news cycle to be weekly, rather than daily. It takes its time to investigate things, unlike the daily.
That’s a tangent. Sorry.
I’m a fifty year old – oh, there’s my number.
I get up from my spot in the aisle near some chairs and walk up to the window that my number is above.
“How can I help you today?” the clerk asks without really looking up from their computer.
I place the open envelope that’s in my mouth onto the counter and say, “Hello.”
The clerk looks at me and then looks down at the envelope.
It has a hand scrawled note on it that says:
Hello, I can’t talk well without AAC. I am here to update my State ID with my new name, gender marker, and up-to-date photo. Everything I need is in this envelope.  Thank you, Meghan Estragon Draconis
It’s actually my hand writing, and not at all what I think of as girly, unfortunately. But now I see it as draconic. It was always legible but scratchy. It’s easier to do in human disguise, but now I think I know why I’ve always had trouble with it.
The claw marks needed to get out somehow.
“OK, let me take a look at this and see what you’ve got. Can you answer yes or no questions?” the clerk asks. Her name is “Sheela, she/her”, I see on her nametag.
“Yes,” I say.
“Wonderful!” she smiles. Which surprises me. I don’t think I’ve seen a DMV clerk smile before.
Sheela flips through the contents of the envelope and nods, licking her finger occasionally. Then she arrays it out in front of her.
“I’m going to get you entered into the computer right now, then I’ll give this all back and I’ll need you to sit back down,” she says. “Then, when your name is called – your new name – go on up to that window over there, and Gavin will ask you your questions and take care of your ID. OK?”
“Yes. Thankyou,” I say.
She smiles again, then takes a couple of minutes to do her work before filing everything back in the envelope. She points at my note as she hands it to me, “Just show Gavin that when you go up there.”
“Thankyou,” I say again.
“Have a nice day!” she says, then presses the button to cycle numbers.
And it takes a little while, then it goes pretty much the same with Gavin. Except that I think he’s a trans man, because when he sees my deadname and name change form, he gets excited and congratulates me. And then it feels like we’re queerly flirting at each other without saying anything out of script for the rest of our interactions.
Oh, and changing my gender marker is so simple. It’s just answering the question of which marker I want. I can change it every time I update my ID, as many times as I want. There’s even the X to choose from. I go with F.
And it turns out that they have the camera set up to be adjusted for dragons already.
Which makes this feel like a fantasy.
I mean, honestly, poking my nose out of my apartment four weeks ago to meet Rhoda, who said, “Good morning, Sleepy Head. Still a dragon today?” was plenty fantastic already. Along with everything else that’s happened since.
Sometimes it’s been like a children’s picture book, and sometimes it’s been almost but not quite like a grimdark web serial about world shattering supervillains fighting against cosmic forces beyond comprehension. But fantasy, either way.
But, like, the DMV has already got this stuff figured out? That’s silly. Isn’t it?
Only, having it figured out means everything goes more smoothly, and that’s valuable to everyone stuck in this place.
It’s probably not the same in other states.
Heck, it might not be quite the same in Spokane or Wenatchee.
As I stand there and wait for the flash, I ask another question of myself. One that keeps coming back to me.
Am I a person?
Not, should I have the same rights as a person? Or, can I act like a person?
More fundamental than that.
Am I even alive as an entity that resembles a person sometimes?
Closer to, do I exist? Except I know I exist.
It’s a kind of silly question to ask, because I have the agency to ask it and then decide whether or not to try answering it. Of course that makes me a person. But it keeps popping up.
“OK!” Gavin cheers at me. “Come on back and get your stuff. You’re all paid for. Your temporary ID is being printed right now. And all you have to do is take that and then wait for your new ID to arrive in the mail. It’s been an honor doing this for you Meghan! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week! And here you go!”
And I’m done, and I’m weirded out that there wasn’t more to it than that. And that no one was blatantly grumpy. It was such a different experience the last time I renewed my ID.
“Oh,” Gavin says. “Do not forget to swing by Social Security and update them, too. It’s easy, though, and a lot less work. Just one half a form. Do you need the address for that?”
“No. Thank you,” I say.
“You’ve already got it?
“Yes.”
“Fantastic!”
Then, when I’ve got everything together, I head to the door to go outside where the thermals off the parking lot are not so great in this fall weather, but they’ll have to do.
And as I reach the door, a man comes through it and holds it open for me.
He looks familiar to me in that way where I’ve seen only a rare class of people dress like that, and he’s wearing a single unique accessory that should identify him if I were only more familiar with him specifically. His tie. It’s nothing. Just some distinctive stripes.
And as I step up to him, I then notice his eyes.
And our eyes meet as I plod by, heads turning to maintain contact.
I can’t exactly say that we’re not transfixed, but we’ve both got lucid control of the rest of our bodies, despite how rigidly locked our gazes are.
“Hello, Meghan,” he says in a strange, almost mechanical male British voice.
To be continued…

I would LOVE to hear your feelings about Captain Pike from Star Trek (re: your tags)! I have a lot of feelings on the way his disability is handled, and unfortunately, those feelings are mostly disappointment and frustration.
OH BOY DO YOU HAVE TWO HOURS?? Really, do you?? Because along with two of my friends, I did two presentations at Trek Long Island on disability representation in Star Trek (one on disability in general, and one specifically on eugenics and neurodiversity), and Pike's arc came up, uh... a lot! With questions like "Why do we not have decent AAC by now?" and "Why was this particular plotline brought back as the tentpole for the franchise revival instead of being left in the problematic '60s like Turnabout Intruder?"
https://www.tumblr.com/hyperlexichypatia/752220606713446400/behold-our-panels-both-of
I actually have way more thought than fit into these videos, but I will avoid spamming you all at once or writing a novel... for now.

Do you happen to have a compilation of queercoded Alan Scott panels from before Flashpoint by any chance? It's really interesting to know how even as far back as the Golden Age the seeds for his sexuality were there and nobody really noticed
i do! kind of! i have a bunch spread across various post so i'm just gonna put together a compilation of gaycoded alan scott moments from the golden age (and beyond) for you right now :)
in his 1940s stories alan not only shows a complete disinterest in women but he actively rejects their advances at every turn
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(in green lantern 1941 #34 he refuses to go on a date by pretending his dog dislikes girls)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(in green lantern #33 he reacts with disgust to the idea of marrying a woman)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(in all-american comics 1939 #71, alan's completely immune to a mad scientist's daughter that's been specifically created to be irresistible to men)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(in green lantern #13 doiby falls for a debutante that only has eyes for alan, and alan can't stand her or any affection from her)
much of his gaycoding also revolves around the close and intimate relationship he has with his best friend doiby dickles, whom he shares a bedroom & a bathroom with
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(an especially flagrant example from all american comics #60 but keep in mind this is the status quo for all their golden age appearances after doiby finds out alan's identity in aac #35)
Tumblr media
(a couple other examples of such intimacy from gl #28, aac #54, the big all-american comic book 1944 #1, and gl #34)
there's also a story in comic cavalcade 1942 that implies a great deal about alan's relationship with a nightclub owner named jonah dayton, which stands out in stark contrast to alan's distinct lack of romantic & social life
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(comic cavalcade #23, note doiby's strange insistence that alan is 'ruining his life')
these are all just examples because it'd be impossible to show you panels from all his 130+ golden age appearances but if you were to read them in full you'd discover that over the course of his 1940s stories alan has no romantic relationships whatsoever and he and doiby live together, go on vacations together, adopt a dog together, babysit doiby's nephew together, and generally share a closeness that is 'inexplicable' even for the comics of back then. notably, alan's first silver age appearance in green lantern 1960 #40 has alan & doiby still living together and alan's employees at gbc calling him alan's 'man friday'
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the 1976 run of all-star comics (which picks up the golden age series' numbering) goes so explicit with the confirmed bachelor aspect that it's undoubtedly what led to roy thomas' subsequent retcons in infinity inc (and specifically infinity inc annual #1)
Tumblr media
(missing doiby in all-star comics #60, after doiby's subsequent marriage in the silver age gl series)
Tumblr media
(writer paul levitz' retrospective on asc 1976 in the amazing world of dc comics #16, note how alan's the one jsaer to have never married and who has no family besides his close friend doiby)
it's within this context of alan's history that roy thomas' attempts to make him seem straight in infinity inc must be approached and how the confirmation of alan's sexuality in the present day is just that -- a confirmation, a return to form -- and not a retcon, after all for forty-one years of his existence there had been no women in alan's life.
this isn't to say though that with molly in the picture the gaycoding ever actually stopped, it just became rarer as any focus on alan himself or his personal life became rarer and the jsa-as-people (rather than heroes) sort of faded into the background. we still got the occasional gems like everything during the sentinel era (special shout out to the book of fate 1997 and the weird psychosexual things contained within) and how showcase '95 #1 has alan fighting the maybe-ghosts of his teammates while saying they have no right to judge him after they accuse him of not being 'a real man'
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
or green lantern: in brightest day, blackest night 2002 stating he'll never be able to settle down into a normal life because he's not a 'normal man'
Tumblr media
and there's a lot to be read into molly's effective disappearance over the years, too. she's been pretty much erased post-early 2000s to the point that you could easily pinpoint their separation/divorce somewhere around 2007 or so.
there's certainly much more out there and having read all his appearances i've found next to none that didn't feature some hint of gaycoding but i hope you've enjoyed these examples! lmk your thoughts if you'd like :)

Spoilers for The Strange Redemption of Thaddeus Thawne below:
Tumblr media
Ten is the Inertia from Flash: Fastest Man Alive. He killed Bart Allen. Then Wally West came after him and turned him into a living statue. Ten spent years in the Flash Museum, able to think at real time but not to move.
To survive the isolation, his brain basically shut down. When he's rescued, he has a laundry list of unfortunate side effects. He can't speak anymore. He has paranoia. It's hard to reach him with language, especially at first. His physical coordination is a shot for a while, although he does start to recover that. He needs a significant amount of support in daily life.
Physically, he's 19 years old. Chronologically, he's 27.
It's another clone who frees him from the immobilization. I'm not saying who or how yet, though—that's secret! ;)
He ends up living with Joseph Wilson and Two. He sleeps in the computer lab upstairs, the one known as the "Green Room". (Two gets the Blue Room!)
Ten uses an AAC app to communicate. He writes and texts sometimes, but mostly uses the preprogrammed phrase boards and vocabulary from the app. Three was delighted by Ten's phone and stuck a bunch of stickers on it without asking (THREE HONEY NO...). Ten didn't mind, but he meticulously removed all the stickers except the blue ones.
Ten's favorite color is blue. This is one of the first things that they learn about his personality.
Ten listens to a lot of rock music! His headphones are his favorite possession. He also really likes listening to people talk to him, as long as they're talking to him and not just around him. He has issues with being ignored, understandably enough (had to watch people in the museum). He also hates silence (all those long nights...)
When Ten is upset, he often goes to the back yard and gets fabulously dirty. The sensory input helps remind him that he's real.
I almost forgot—he learns to quilt! Ten will easily spend hours and hours quilting. He likes the mathematical challenge of it, the arranging of patterns, the planning and the execution of the plan. He's smart and strong, and quilting is a good brain workout that also gets his body moving.
He's my boy and I love him <333

Revolutionizing Construction. The Role of AAC Block Manufacturing Machines
The construction industry has been steadily moving towards more sustainable and efficient building materials in response to global environmental concerns and rising energy costs. One of the innovations leading this change is Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) blocks. AAC blocks are favored for their lightweight, thermal insulation, and fire resistance properties. At the heart of the production of these revolutionary building materials are AAC block manufacturing machines, which play a pivotal role in shaping modern construction landscapes.
Tumblr media
Understanding AAC Block Manufacturing Machines
AAC block manufacturing machines are the backbone of AAC block production plants. These machines handle everything from the raw material mixture to the output of cured blocks. An AAC block production line includes several key components:
Batching and Mixing Unit: This is where raw materials like cement, lime, sand, gypsum, and aluminum powder are accurately measured and mixed into a slurry.
Pouring and Pre-curing: The mixed slurry is then poured into molds. These molds are transferred to a pre-curing area where the mix sets slightly, forming a solid but still soft block.
Cutting Line: After pre-curing, the solidified block is cut into precisely measured blocks or panels using high-tensile strength wires.
Autoclaving: The cut blocks are then subjected to high-pressure steam curing in autoclaves, which gives AAC blocks their strength and lightweight properties.
Packing and Storage: Finally, the blocks are packaged and moved to storage areas from where they can be distributed.
The Impact of Technology on AAC Block Manufacturing
The evolution of technology in manufacturing AAC blocks has significantly impacted the construction industry. Modern AAC block machines incorporate advanced features like automated control systems which ensure precision and efficiency at every stage of the production process. These advancements not only increase the output but also enhance the quality of the blocks.

Automation in AAC block manufacturing includes computerized batch process controls, automated mixing, and accurate wire cutting systems, which reduce human error and enhance the uniformity of the product. This automation extends to the autoclaving process, ensuring that each block is cured under optimal conditions for consistent quality.
Quality Control
Today’s AAC block manufacturing machines come equipped with integrated quality control systems. These systems monitor each phase of the production process, from raw material mixing ratios to final block density, ensuring that each product meets stringent standards.
The Advantages of AAC Blocks
AAC blocks offer a multitude of benefits that make them a superior choice in modern construction:
Lightweight: AAC blocks are about one-fifth the weight of traditional concrete, which reduces the load on the structure and allows for faster construction.
Insulation Properties: The excellent thermal insulation properties of AAC blocks mean better energy efficiency, reducing heating and cooling costs in buildings.
Fire Resistance: AAC blocks are fire-resistant, making them a safe building material.
Environmentally Friendly: The production process of AAC blocks uses less energy and generates fewer emissions than traditional brick manufacturing. Additionally, AAC blocks are made from non-toxic materials and are completely recyclable.
Challenges in AAC Block Manufacturing
While AAC block manufacturing machines have streamlined production, there are still challenges that need addressing:
High Initial Investment: The setup cost for an AAC block plant is significant, primarily due to the sophisticated and expensive machinery required.
Technical Expertise: Operating an AAC block plant requires skilled personnel trained in handling complex machinery and understanding the technical nuances of AAC production.
Market Penetration: Despite their advantages, AAC blocks are still relatively new in some markets compared to traditional building materials like clay bricks and concrete blocks. Increasing market penetration requires extensive marketing and education efforts to build trust and acceptance among builders and consumers.
Future Prospects
The future of AAC block manufacturing looks promising with continuous advancements in machine technology and growing awareness of sustainable construction practices. Innovations like enhanced automation, better energy management systems, and the use of artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance and process optimization are expected to further improve the efficiency and environmental footprint of AAC block production.
Conclusion
AAC block manufacturing machines are more than just equipment; they are the drivers of change in the construction industry, pushing it towards more sustainable and efficient practices. As the demand for greener building solutions increases globally, the importance of advanced AAC block manufacturing technology will continue to grow, playing a crucial role in the global movement towards sustainable development. 3d Printing and Mobility Aids
Frequently do not qualify for grants/funding/insurance (which does make it a good option if needing things that wouldn’t/can’t be covered anyways).
*Most of these can be used with/adapted for other mobility aids than shown.
*This is a selection of what is possible and is very much not an exhaustive list.
Levers
Most common modification I see for 3d printed wheelchair modifications.
Makes it so that propulsion is via a “rowing” action instead of a “pushing” action, which then changes the stress on the body.
May be a suitable replacement for power assist depending on the reason for needing the assist.
