Cool cool cool cool cool please excuse me as I vividly think about Professor Sato keeping bunny (Ollie) around all these years. A deeply beloved toy that Kenji found comfort in as a child, and how he goes on to gift it to Emi. Thus allowing Kenji to, in turn, share the comfort he felt back then with his own daughter, now, when she needs it most.

How Kenji harmonizes with his dad and bunny in singing Bingo to Emi (how singing is such an important expression of love in Lost Ollie)

How Emi comes to adore bunny so much she first goes back to grab him on the beach before showing him to her daddy because she couldn’t leave bunny behind. He was too important to her, even when things were getting scary, to leave him behind.

“She was loved so much she fell apart”

And thinking about Ollie going through the worst to make it back. Being in such an awful state, but still so loved, he’s cleaned up and fixed to then get passed down and share the love he brought.

Made with a love shared and passed forward from generations of parents to children.

Girl it was so bad I was literally like ohhh I feel so bad for cancelling on him let’s give him a chance. So today we spontaneously met up and studied together and we just ended up yapping the whole time . And at first it was fun bc he gives off this funny party guy who’s also ambitious impression (my favorite type). He says some questionable white man things I let slide. But then towards the end he goes on this whole rant ab his ex and how he’s pissed oft she didn’t wanna have kids (he’s 24) and how we should be thinking about having kids seriously and how women’s clocks start ticking (this man wants to be a doctor one day) so I should be thinking about it at my old age of 22 (yeah). This whole time I’m listening and smiling but on the inside his autopsy is already monogrammed in my mind’s eye bruh it’s so over

Thoughts I was having as I fell asleep last night:

Ed has a stuffed bunny toy that was handmade for him by his mum when he was very little. He treasured that bunny for years until a couple of shitty ex boyfriends decided to damage it on purpose (what kind of grown man has stuffed toys? etc etc). From then on Ed keeps his bunny hidden away in his wardrobe, partially because he’s scared to show it to anyone but also because he’s ashamed of himself for letting something so horrible happen to his bunny. Until he meets Stede. He shows Stede his beaten up old rabbit with a missing arm and eye, the head hanging half off the body and stuffing coming out, and Stede doesn’t mock him or belittle him! Stede comforts him!

A few months pass. Ed’s birthday rolls around and he can tell Stede is excited about something. After breakfast, Stede places a cardboard box in front of Ed and tells him to open it. He does. Inside the box is his childhood bunny, but it’s not falling apart anymore. Instead, Stede has lovingly repaired it. The repairs are very visible because Stede has used a floral material rather than the original brown that the bunny is made of. The new eye on the rabbit doesn’t quite match the old one, it has a brand new arm, and it’s body is covered in little flowery patches to cover up the damaged material underneath, but Ed loves it, to him it’s perfect.

And what can Ed do other than cry? He’s never had anyone care about him in this way. He’s never had someone take his emotions so seriously. He holds the bunny to his chest as he cries and he can’t help but see himself in the little creature. Maybe one day he’ll be able to heal as well?

Bsf!Felix would absolutely have a crashout if lovie ever mentioned doing something risky in high school, both because he wasn’t there and that she had other friends back then

omg u brought up an aspect of this i hadn't even thought of felix is def the type of co-dependent that gets a little sad that he hasn't known lovie her entire life, and while there definitely is a toxic way that could go he's not even trying to be manipulative and it's not an assertive jealousy

like he sees an old picture of lovie and some friends from high school or--god forbid--earlier and a part of him feels like an adoptive mother seeing photos of the child she gave up growing up 😭 it reminds me of a tiktok trend i saw awhile ago of girlfriends getting emotional over their boyfriend's baby photos

and if lovie ever mentions a period in time in which she was fighting with her friends or felt unpopular/friendless it's so over for felix, like who had the opportunity to experience growing up with lovie and squandered it?? he just wants to have a conversation abt it :)
