i’m sooo brave for not mauling 2 coworkers to death after i said we have a friend (bug) at the office and they asked me if i needed something to squish it with

I think i’ll try and answer as many of these as i can lol

1. There was this one program for my shitty old laptop i got for my birthday when i was younger that i pretty much only used like 5 times, i forgot the name of it but it sucked or maybe i just didn’t know how to use it, i still have the disc for it somewhere?

2. Usually i try and vary what direction the folks in my drawings are facing (especially when there’s like 5 that are pointing in the same direction in separate drawings chronologically), but i usually draw them facing to the left. Maybe it has something to do with being right handed? I have no idea.

3. I can’t think of any off of the top of my head (brain failure. i had covid a couple months ago so i blame it on that lmfao) but i do remember some of the really old stuff i did before i started drawing digitally, maybe those count. Some old comics that i worked on in middle school to show to a friend of mine when he (rarely) came to school.

4. Everything is a bitch to draw i need practice because drawing is aggebrnsgsbnendjd DIFFICULT!! But i can say that my secondary fursona, an isopod named Ia (like the letters i and a, I don’t know how that will display on other tumblr themes and whatnot). All of the chitinous scales on their back are a  pain in the ass and i usually give up :( Also clouds. Love em, the puffies and yah but like?? They kill me i suck at making them look good aaaurg.

5. Oh i post most things, tho sometimes i crop drawings because of bits that I don’t like or whatever. i admit that i rarely draw (((bare boobies))), but i never share that publicly, and most likely never will. i think it’s healthy and useful to my transition to express my feelings about my body thru art for myself. But none for y’all im 17 who do you think you are??

6. I don’t know, but for sure. i can’t say exactly what but eug idk. im going through a existential crisis over whether or not i have free will, so e

I like a lot of the looks that some anime and manga have, plus a lot of older children’s animated shows n stuff. i became disillusioned with anime a year or two ago after realizing that i despise reddit and all of the anime communities that i was a part of. Makes me shudder lol. I still like to watch some animes like Mob Psycho 100 and stuff tho, like ghibli movies and those 80s OVAs, those are cool. For the childrens animated stuff, obv I don’t like most of the modern stuff because it’s just addicting 5 year olds to mindless consumerist mindsets. I mean they’ve always done that but blehhh. Generally theres stuff that i like because it reminds me of when i was younger and didn’t know i was depressed haaaaahh. Oh right, i really like music from the late 90s through the early 10s, because it was the stuff my mom loved to listen to around me. She still does, but not as much unfortunately.

8. So many things. Blaming depression amongst other things like school hah uha. Euh. Im kinda bad at coordinating and stuff, plus im terrible at committing. 9. Usually nothing (i work in procreate so I don’t technically have to name things) so it just ends up being seas “Untitled Artwork.” When i do name things it ends up kinda silly. Just grabbed some, here we go: “KILLING YOU” “Rona Vahrus” “Overwhelming Thrust Instead of Aerodynamic Stability” “Forehead” “BACK PAIN HOTLINE” “Holy Shit Outside”

10. Socks are fun but i like to draw sports bras. That’s usually what i draw Meni in because i like to wear sports bras myself and i like to dress my fursonas up like me. Except for ia. i haven’t really figured out how to put clothes on them yet because they’re shaped weird. Fishnets, robes, and panties are fun too but they have their own place. (Drawing characters in their underwear is how you show off they tummy and how fluffy they are yay)

11. Yeyeye! I listen to so much music so often. I can’t remember the last time i drew without music or at least something going on in the background to keep my ears occupied. Theres a ton of artists i like but rn im mostly listening to Left at London and David Bowie songs atm. Speaking of which, im listening to left at london right now!

12. Head. Oval. Done lol

13. Theres so many ppl out there that have cool stuff, but i wanna say one of my favorites is a fellow enby i met in y first few months on twt named Packtion, they make cool tunes. I like cool tunes but I’m not really one to make music.

14. Ive heard of the term motif before but im not super certain as to how to portray that to my art? If it basically means “theme,” then I would say fall. Love autumn weather!

15. On my bed, on random chairs around where i live, couches, outside (only when it’s warm out). Sometimes i draw physically at school or out in parks, but that’s not too common. I do also have a projects desk but that’s covered in fursuit stuff and also my 4 foot tall model of a Space Launch System rocket lol.

17. Sometimes water or cheap hot chocolate/ apple cider. Earlier tho i drank an unacceptable amount of cola while drawing meni in their winter coat colors lol

18. A lot. Mostly in middle school because i hated my art teacher or whatever. A lot of times it happens on accident or when my fidgeting gets destructive (esp w/ erasers)

19. Planes, rockets, that sort. Im an aerospace nerd, sorta kinda. Also i drew my ass kicking boots a couple weeks back and that was rlly cool too

20. There are some things im good at and other things im bad at. i haven’t drawn any real bangers imo in a very long time so i can’t say anything in particular, but my furry internet friends like my drawins and fursuiting stuff so i think that counts.

21. Kemono is pretty cool, some more crunchy and spooky art plus fall vibes and all that sort. Art is a big world! Theres a lot to like i think

23. Ye, for sure. Multiply, add, overlay, those are my favorites. Sometimes tho i sort thru the other ones to see if theres any that make particular image effects look good.

24. Not usually. Sometimes i make funnies using stock images tho, on April 1st a year or two ago i dressed my retired fursona (meaning I don’t draw them anymore) up in a business suit that i shamelessly copy pasted from a stock image of some guy.

25. One time i drew a rocket and i put a lens flare on the engine plume and it accidentally looked like a cross. When i posted it on twt i got like a bajilion likes and everyone was like HOLY SHIT MOGY DRAWED NEON GENSIS EVANGELION?? And i was like “what” because i hadn’t seen eva yet lol.

27. Usually i don’t warm up, no. i usually just start drawing hah, and it either works or it doesn’t. i’ve been told that i should try and do warmups before drawing but it’s hard to start..,

should i create a "wind" system for my semi-closed, isopod/plant propogation vivarium? a rain system would be too much since it has a roof and i only need to spray it every once in a while, so should i use my timer for wind instead?? attach it the outside where the air holes are to push air straight through??? what would even happen if u incorporated wind into a closed viv???? the trees might need it to strengthen themselves against natural wind for when theyve outgrown the bin & the anthropods n isopods stay underground (most of the time) so they probably wouldnt care much

Top Bug Pokes By Gen

So I thought I would next discuss my favorite pokes in each type. The problem is, it’s tricky narrowing down to just ONE in your favorite type. ;____;

As such, I’m going to cheat for this first type (bug) and pick a favorite out of EACH generation of games.

Gen 1 - Parasect

It has to be Parasect. This is not a popular choice, and I know it. Parasect’s typing (Bug/Grass) makes it a very difficult poke to use. I’m not going to deny that. I’m also not going to try and deny its rather lackluster set of stats.

Paras and Parasect are really special to me, though. I still remember when I was a kid, playing Pokemon for the first time, and running into a Paras in Mount Moon. That awesome little sprite and its etheral cry (incidentally, a cry deemed cool enough to also be used on Mew) filled me with such a sense of fascination and wonder, as did its relative rarity. I’d been wandering around the cave for ages and didn’t expect to run into anything new, and especially nothing so alien and cool-looking. I immediately added it to my team and brought him all the way to the Elite Four, where he joined the Hall of Fame. Lackluster stats didn’t hold him back from being a useful and valuble member of the team.

I named him Sopea. I’m not sure why. I just made up a word, and it sounded like it suited him.

Paras and Parasect remain possibly my favorite bug type to this day. It is a bug with a parasitic fungus that gradually consumes it, and that is fascinating as heck. A zombiebug, basically. That’s why its eyes are white. There are real species that are preyed upon by parasitic fungi, which ‘control’ their insect hosts, and it’s a truly fascinating thing I strongly suggest looking up sometime. :)

Anyway, my second-favorite of gen 1 is probably Venomoth or Scyther. I love them both a lot. I don’t care for Scizor’s design too much, despite its popularity in the meta game.

Gen 2 - Heracross

I mentioned before how I’m not super-attached to Gen 2. I never played it as a kid (after gen 1 I didn’t play pokemon for many years), so there’s no nostalgia factor for me. I honestly often forget which pokemon originated in gen 2, in fact. Regardless, Heracross is definitely the coolest bug type from that era. Other than Sun/Moon’s funky Ultra Beasts, his typing is entirely unique. A Fighting bug type is truly awesome, and his design is really beautiful. Simple but elegant, with an adorable little smirk, and a really cool species in real life.

Gen 3 - Shedinja

Yes, I think most can agree, Shedinja is a novelty poke. Yes, he’s not actually useful in battle except in extremely circumstantial situations. I know. I don’t flippin’ care. He’s adorable, and the idea behind him is amazing. Spooky ghost pokemon that’s the discarded shell of a cicada? Something that literally will swallow your SOUL if you look into the empty hole in its back? Sign me the fuck up, ayyy. Again, a totally unique typing, and I can’t help but adore him. Cicadas in general are awesome, and if I can’t pick Shedinja as my favorite from this gen, I would choose its bouncier, livelier partner, Ninjask.

Gen 4 - Kricketune

I know you givin’ me an ugly look for this choice. And I’m not gonna bother trying to convince you he’s useful in battle.

But he’s got swag. Dele-dele-whoop, bitch.

(Look, gen 4 was pretty bad for new bug types, so gimme a break)

Gen 5 - Galvantula

Gen 5 had some fantastic bug types, but the prize probably has to go to this crazy electric tick-and-then-spider. Joltik is adorable AS FCK and its evo is awesome AS FCK. I had one on my team during my run of White, and I loved the thing to absolute bits. Once again, before SuMo its typing was totally unique, and I was beside myself with excitement for getting a badass electric tarantula. This speedy spider will run laps around the unfortunately clunky Vikavolt, and I’m happy to see him sometimes used competitively as well (though usually just as a sticky web lead, but compound eyes + thunder is still a tasty combo that’ll pack a punch).

My second-best for gen 5 is reeeeeally hard to say. That gen was definitely the best in terms of getting awesome new bug types (FFS, we even got a Mythical Bug type, and Volcarona), and probably the best for bug lovers of ALL the gens.

Gen 6 - Vivil– oh uhh this is awkward

Yeah, that’s the only new bug type that gen. Needless to say, not the best gen for bug catchers, BUT not the worst either maybe?? Because we DID get a bug type with a TON of forms to collect, and I have to admit, I had a good time collecting them. I still don’t have those special event forms though. ;___; Oh Pokeball Vivillon, someday you will be mine. Also, Scatterbug/Spewpa are the cutest caterpillar/chrysalis forms. (Sewaddle comes close, admittedly)

Gen 7 - HELP I CAN’T CHOOSE

I mean come on, we have an insanely badass isopod thing (with an adorable AF first evo) or a super-adorable fairy-bug thing (with an adorable AF first evo). I gotta tell you, it was pure agony during my run of Moon, because I wanted both on my team so badly. I didn’t put both, because I wanted a more diverse team than that, but it really, really hurt leaving little Wimpod behind. They are both so fantastic.
