"All the same, Mayhem initially had somewhat of a ‘big brother’ influence on Black Death/Darkthrone. Fenriz was invited to attend his first Mayhem rehearsal in 1987. At that time, a couple of boys from Vomit, who didn’t quite fit in, attempted to fill Mayhem’s vacancies. Future opera singer Torben Grue sang and future Christian fundamentalist Kittil Kittilsen played the drums.
The fact that Mayhem’s members were slightly older than Fenriz, who initially had to rely on them to pick him up since he couldn’t drive, affected dynamics.
