Was the Barbie movie radical? No. There was nothing “anti-man” about it, in fact it was incredibly kind to men. That, however, has not stopped them from pretending like it straight up unironically advocated for a male genocide. For example:
Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I firmly believe that the absolute hysteria from so many men that has occurred since its release could make at least a few more women realize that male socialization is not a myth and feminism is absolutely necessary for our survival. Like.. A movie about a toy marketed toward little girls not catering 100% to men is enough to make them go full mask off and advocate for the 19th amendment to be repealed. That’s how insane they’re being about this. Their reaction to this movie is a great example of what feminists mean when we say that males are socialized to believe the world must cater to them and their interests alone, and nothing makes them more mad than when a woman tries to challenge that. I just really hope women are paying attention to this and digging deeper into why they’re behaving this way.

And I can absolutely guarantee you no one would give a single flying fuck if a trans woman replaced a trans guy in a meme comic with herself. Because it's no big deal, and it's simply about finding something to be mad at the evil "TMEs" about or whatever. Truly, we must fight transphobia at the front lines! (Other trans people parodying meme comics)
Absolutely not lmao. But then it's fine, because, like, trans men are privlaged, so stealing their memes is like pirating a Disney movie, whereas stealing a transfem meme is practically snatching the food right out of a Victorian orphan's hands.
Are you not excited for the future where art styles are trademarked?
I'm still not entirely sure if I identify as a kinna non-binary or if I just feel myself to be a very butch transfem who likes using certain terms for myself to emphasize the unique nature of my femininity.
But I don't know what else to call it except for exorsexism when I get the five millionth side-eye for "AMAB trans woman," especially since I know people would go off the edge accusing me of being a TERF twenty times more if I said "male" like I actually want to.* Like, dadgum, can people not handle a girl choosing to identify in some way with a term traditionally associated with her body-type because she likes it without assuming she's another Blaire White?
Like this is that soul-gender shit I get riled up about, the word "male" isn't real! The ♂ is not a magic rune that wards against femininity! I can choose to identify with that and still be a woman, and when I enter a women's space while identifying openly as a male woman, that's going to piss TERFs off more than any of them ever could.
*I also identify myself as an AMAB trans woman to support AFAB trans women and other transfem folk, but I think using 'male' would do that just as well too
I DIDN'T KNOW IT HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH TRANS PEOPLE EITHER
Eyyup. The safest queers always pretend the world outside the community is completely hypothetical so they can get down to the crucial business of praising them for breathing.
The comparisons to acephobia at least gives me hope things will get better, but I hope it's fucking soon.
It's the closest people who're privileged enough to care about meme theft get to dealing with things like that, of course it's basically the same to them, if they stepped outside their gated community for a second they'd have a religious experience like the Great Renunciation of Siddhartha Gautama.
Some day we'll find out what number comes after one.
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Why can't haired people make their own memes? Why must they consistently debald the memes of bald people?
It's different when it's transfems because, uh, well, radfems say so.
They really can't help themselves.
Apparently it's hypocritical of me to call that racist, though, because I once told a tankie to bark like a dog without even looking at their* profile. Like, I'm sorry I very generically insulted someone who turned out to be Black, I guess.
Also, I apparently harass Palestinian blogs, which is truly wild and I can only guess must come from me occasionally bringing up hypocrisy when I yell at tankies for being enthusiastically pro-genocide when they feel like it.
*I do not recall the pronouns this loser used
The issue you're noticing is that transfems don't get socially murdered nearly often enough for transradfems to sustain themselves, and they can't influence any real issues, so they have to make up problems to fuel the martrydom that places them above all other trans people.
Oh, that sounds spectacular! Kinna gross, but like, in a spectacular way!
They don't think it's possible for AFAB trans people to detransition, to them it's all just cis women pretending to be trans to rip them off and hurt them.
It's real fucking bad.
I'm very sorry anon, and I completely agree.
You'd be surprised by me not liking most modern art.
I'm really happy you have that, and that we can relate to each other. <3
Are Black people saying the "why this _ mad" meme is exclusive to Black people? Is that discourse that's happening?

SJM's zionism as seen in ACOTAR: Fae males were territorial, dominant, arrogant—but the ones in the Spring Court … something had festered in their training.
Haha, what? You were just fine with them before, they revered you and respected you, and now they're suddenly suspicious because they live under Tamlin? It's giving "Ohhhh look at Hamas see see see? All Muslims are terrorists!" And I'm almost certain this is the justification SJM uses for Feyre to genocide the shit out of them in ACOWAR. HyBeRn'S aCtIoNs ArE tHeIr OwN sounds remarkably like Israel using October 7th to justify killing babies, maiming children, and abusing the elderly. They use this same mentality towards CoN citizens too despite Mor coming from there. But notice how Mor is somehow white. “Most of your soldiers are dead.” Eris only blinked. “And the good news?” “Two of them survived.” Nesta studied every minute shift on Eris’s face: rage glimmering in his eyes, displeasure in his pursed lips, annoyance in the fluttering of a muscle in his jaw. As if countless questions were racing through his mind. Eris’s voice remained flat, though. “And who did this?” Cassian grimaced. “Technically, Azriel and I did. Your soldiers were enchanted by Queen Briallyn and Koschei to be mindless killers. They attacked us in the Bog of Oorid, and we were left with no choice but to kill them.” “And yet two survived. How convenient. I assume they received Azriel’s particular brand of interrogation?” Eris’s voice dripped disdain. “We could only manage to contain two,” Cassian said tightly. “Under Briallyn’s influence, they were practically rabid.” “Let’s not lie to ourselves. You only bothered to contain two, by the time your brute bloodlust ebbed away.” Nesta saw red at the words, and Cassian sucked in a breath. “We did what we could. There were two dozen of them.” Eris snorted. “There were certainly more than that, and you could have easily spared more than two. But I don’t know why I’d expect someone like you to have done any better.” “Do you want me to apologize?” Cassian snarled. Nesta’s heart began to pound wildly at the anger darkening his voice, the pain brightening his eyes. He regretted it—he hadn’t liked killing those soldiers. “Did you even try to spare the others, or did you just launch right into a massacre?” Eris seethed. Cassian hesitated. Nesta could have sworn she saw the words land their blow. No, Cassian had not hesitated.
Cassian and Azriel are super duper mega warriors and they didn't even bother to try and save Eris's soldiers despite knowing they're innocent, yet we're expected to take Cassian's side over Eris's. It's giving "Israeli soldiers are traumatized over all the civilians they were 'forced' to kill" DAMN RIGHT YOU SHOULD BE TRAUMATIZED!!!
But Keir must have known, too. And said simply to Rhysand, “I want out. I want space. I want my people to be free of this mountain.” “You have every comfort,” I finally said. “And yet it is not enough?” Keir ignored me as well. As I’m sure he ignored most women in his life. It's giving, "I will colonize your land, I will trap your people in Gaza strip and systematically oppress you, but hey we didn't kill you! Why are you mad??" Also the white feminism in that last line I can't. THERE ARE WOMEN TRAPPED UNDERNEATH THAT MOUNTAIN GETTING ABUSED EVERY DAY!!!! It's the same reason no one cares that Palestinian women don't have clean menstrual supplies and no anesthesia for clean births. Because Palestinians are brown.
So Keir knew about Velaris. The Hewn City knew about Velaris. Before Rhys wiped their memory. This is a lot like Israel occupying Palestine and rewriting history to make it seem like they're the country and Palestine are the occupiers. But they can't delete all the evidence, and now the truth has come out.

idk if I've posted this before, but an UT/DR headcanon I have and don't see in others often is that humans in those worlds are not the same as the humans from ours. They're definitely more similar to us than the monsters are, but they're not the same "species" as what we'd consider to be a normal human in our world.
For starters, they can have bright yellow skin. That is straight-up canon. While we've never actually seen two humans interact in canon unless you want to count the end of genocide (which I won't because I interpret it as Chara talking to YOU, not Frisk), the fact that we now have two separate individuals with this skin tone does sort of imply it's normal. It's not a colour it's possible for a human to naturally be in our world; even when one has jaundice, it's not bright-ass Lego minifigure yellow. These kids are the colour of poison dart frogs. They're the colour of a hazard strip. That's not normal.
Given both this hint that these humans are different and the fact that all 3 humans seen in canon are universally addressed by they/them pronouns and are completely androgynous, I have a headcanon/theroy:
Humans in these worlds have no male/female sexes, no concept of gender, and no differing sexually dimorphic traits.
I do not think these humans have men and women. I think all humans are born as genderless, completely androgynous beings, and have no concept of gender within their societies. I have no idea how they'd reproduce, but I imagine them as having either no genitalia, or all having the same "set," and what it looks/functions like I have no clue. Honestly, I'm kind of leaning towards mitosis.
I like this idea for the following reasons:
Mettaton EX being so androgynous despite his identifying as a binary male would be a thing he lifted from humans, being such a fan of them and all. The thing with the four, five and six fingered gloves heavily implies he wanted his body to appear as human as possible, and I suppose that could mean combining what we would consider to be masculine and feminine traits into one metal genderbeast.
It adds a touch of "gremlinous creature" vibes to all 3 human characters; "inhuman" anatomy despite being explicitly, plot-importantly human.
The confusion about reproduction and just how tf not having gender or bio sex would work I and you are feeling right now is EXACTLY how monsters, the main in-universe demographic of both games, would feel.
Feels kind of Homestuck troll-ey, which is always a plus in any Toby Fox project because it solicits groans.
Things I percieve as flaws in this headcanon:
Kind of discredits the non-binary identities of the human characters, especially Kris, whose themes of identity, control over one's body and teenage angst are strongly complimented by a trans identity. If these characters were born non-binary, though, they wouldn't be trans for continuing to identify as such, for the same reason Mettaton and Mad Mew Mew are trans for being born genderless yet having a binary identity.
While opening narrative doors, also closes them... this is again very Kris-centric because they're older, but I've just seen so many portrayals of Kris as a non-binary kid stuck in a perisex body going through puberty that are really interesting and compliment their angst. Binders, facial hair, periods, voice changes... can't do anything with that anymore if these humans don't go through puberty as we know it, and that makes them less relatable.
It just feels bad to hc away canon trans rep like this, yk? UT/DR certainly wouldn't be hurting for it without human trans characters, but they're canonically trans, non-binary playable characters in a mainstream game. That is INSANELY rare. I cannot think of a single other example. Trans mcs are rare enough in mainstream media as a whole, let alone non-binary ones. To strip these characters of that to non-binarify their entire species feels a little... tradeoff-ey.
#I also like to hc that one leg being thicker than the other is real and universal in humans but that's just because it's funny#deltarune#undertale#undertale headcanons#deltarune headcanons#deltarune headcanon#undertale headcanon#undertale hc#deltarune hc#kris dreemurr#kris deltarune#ut/dr#utdr#utdr fandom#ut/dr fandom#frisk undertale#chara dreemurr#chara undertale#toby fox#non binary#non-binary

Me, defending Daenerys Targaryen: Her existence is meant to break the shackles that is often associated with Targaryen madness and tyranny. Just as Aegon the Conqueror came and reshaped Westeros, Daenerys is meant to do that and go further. Aegon did not radically changed the dynamics of the Seven Kingdoms, though his and his sisters' unification did lead to a lessening of yearly wars that the kingdoms were often associated with, but Daenerys goes beyond that. She seeks to dismantle ancient institutions that keep man enslaved and submissive--she is a revolutionary. Attempts to degrade her actions against slavery should be taken under suspicion, for no other character calls for greater reform, not even the common-born Davos. Daenerys' Meereen arc is meant to display the reality of leadership, something which male characters such as Tyrion, Robb, and Jon deal with, to a variety degree of success and failure. Yet, only Daenerys and her actions are held to higher scrutiny, meanwhile Tyrion, Robb, and Jon's fates all occurred by their own choices and actions - Tyrion actively maintained Shae at court, and though he meant well, pulled political blunder when he threatened Cersei, even though it was a noble cause to defend Alayaya; Jon's choice to remain reclusive regarding his designs weakened his overall support in the Night's Watch, especially as he received it under very peculiar situations. Meanwhile, there is less focus on the community about those political blunders and consistent critiques regarding Daenerys' actions, and given the show's canonization of Jon as a "legitimate" son of Rhaegar and Lyanna, any nuance toward her and her potential claim to the Iron Throne is often discarded and forsaken as Jon is considered the "rightful" heir to many members of the fandom. Referring to her as the potential mad queen not only fails to recognize that Daenerys likely is meant to break the common traits of her kin, but also simply ignores the parrallels between Cersei and Aerys. Having two mad queens is reductive, and ignores Martin's anti-misogynistic attempts through Daenerys. The Dance of Dragons only occurred because of misogyny, not because Rhaenyra herself was unfit to rule. That is meant to be something in which Daenerys is expected to break.
Me, defending Queen Marika the Eternal: Yes, she committed multiple cases of genocides...but she was a hot MILF while doing it, soooo

https://www.tumblr.com/allnewalldifferentwildspider/748862622231838720/the-reason-im-so-vulgar-in-regards-to-aangs
What a bunch of bullshit.
"He makes no effort to get to know or understand her" they're literally traveling the whole world together - and their original reason for doing that was because he wanted to help her go to the North Pole to learn waterbending, something which means a lot to her. Just because the writers didn't think the audience was stupid and needed a scene of them sitting down and telling each other a list of their flaws, qualities and motivations, doesn't mean their relationship was shallow.
"We get the MALE GAZE from him" Wow, he thinks a pretty girl is pretty. What a crime.
"He doesn't try to find out what happened to her mom" he didn't have to, she fucking told him basically right away. Complaining about that is like complaining he never asked if Sokka was her brother, even though one of the first things Sokka ever said to Aang was "And this is Katara, my flying sister"
"He always gets surprised when she's mad about something" Aang, the naturally cheery person, is pretty much ALWAYS surprised whenever ANYONE is angry, because that's not an emotionl he usually experiences much. Doesn't mean he doesn't get her - and I say this as a very grumpy person.
And ya know who else gets surprised at Katara's anger all the time? Zuko. The guy that sent an assassin after her group because Katara had to bring Aang back to life after Azula killed him - which only happened because Zuko helped her when Aang and Katara had her cornered.
Funny how things are only bad when Aang does it, but totally okay when Zuko does them in VERY different contexts that obviously paint him in a negative light for good reason.
"He hates the food and culture that she loves so much" Disliking a culture's food is not the same as hating said culture. We only see him talk shit about the Water Tribe's hunting culture once: in the Bato episode, in his friends are accidentally shutting him out of the conversation because they're too excited about being reunited with someone that is basically family. A 12-year-old throwing a tantrum is not the same as him being openly racist. Ya know what IS racist though? Zuko supporting his nation's attempt to genocide the water tribes.
"He doesn't respect her boundaries and kisses her twice without her consent" ONE poorly timed kiss is not the same as him forcefully holding her in place and kissing her, or even asking first then going for it anyway after she said an explicit no. And Katara visibly enjoyed the kiss during the eclipse episode, and was basically cuddlying with him on Appa afterwards.
"He keeps trying to talk for her when she's angry" You mean literally the same thing Zuko did in Southern Raiders?
"He expects her to do the work for their relationship... but he also makes wild assumptions about them being an item already... but he also wanted to talk things out with her to make sure he got it right..." I don't even need to tear these apart, the OP did it for me by making their arguments contradict each other. How kind of them.
"Aang wants the beautiful image of Katara. He wants that pretty face, those big blue eyes, that body, those long legs, those hips, the chest, and the hair that is just so manageable" While Aang is attracted to her, he NEVER mentioned a single one of those things, ever. The hair thing was literally MENG being insecure about her own hair. If you wanna simp for Katara, go ahead and do it, there's nothing wrong with it, but don't act like Aang only sees her a piece of meat.
"He has no interest in the complex, strong, hurt, angry, and caring person that Katara actually is" Ah yes, that's why he doesn't cheer her on when she's fighting Pakku, or helps her with the Painted Lady thing because he admires her compassion, or tells her she gives him hope, or calls her sifu, or accepts that she won't kill Yon Rah but also won't forgive... oh wait, he did do all those things.
"I'm calling it like I see it" Too bad you need glasses and refuse to wear them.
"Aang doesn't actually like Katara; he's just really horny for her" Considering your random description of why she's so hot in a post that has nothing to do it, all while ignoring her agency that used to choose Aang, I'd say that's more likely to be an accurate description of YOU than of our protagonist. Sorry, just calling it like I see it.

Indigenous casual Star Wars fan Hot Takes
The women deserve to live.
The mothers deserve to live.
Trans/Aro/Ace/Intersex characters: we need them. They exist. They have always existed. We need more.
Creators need to hire indigenous actors and artists. Stop just being "influenced" by us and our stories- offer to work with us, and adequately compensate us.
Almost all SW media fans the flames of unregulated White Boy Emotions. Not only encouraging but rewarding Creep behavior and the White women who hold the hands of supremacist genocidal White men. You've gotta do mental gymnastics and 3 paragraphs of his "trauma" to try to justify their femicide.
The Empire moved so seamlessly into power partially because The Republic was already an empire with a galactic militarized police force that people felt they had no chance fighting against. Similar bone structure.
Dave Filoni's Ahsoka costume choices until she's an adult and wears appropriate battle outfits. At 14 she wears a tube top, upgraded to an upper cleavage cut out, whatever perv. He was wrong for that, that was a deliberate choice made again and again until it was retconned in live action. The dedication to the white male gaze and sexualization/adultification of indigenous and Black girls is sickening and prevalent in US media.
The Jedi Order was responsible for aiding the colonization of thousands of worlds on behalf of the Republic.
The Jedi Order is based on a barely-not-a-Boomer cishet white man's perception of a bunch of religions/spiritualities and then applied to fantasy space cops, colonizer mentality is oozing out of the cracks.
People who get really mad about the criticism of the Jedi are usually White and men.
These are only "hot takes" because Star Wars is catered to White Supremacy and those who uphold it.
---
Some people have a BIG issue when I talk about Star Wars and colonizers/aiding colonization. So here you go straight from your Lord Lucas's mouth:
“I have a strong feeling about interesting kids in space exploration. I want them to want it. I want them to get beyond the basic stupidities of the moment and think about colonizing Venus and Mars. And the only way it's going to happen is to have some dumb kid fantasize about it — to get his ray gun, jump in his ship and run off with this wookie into outer space. It's our only hope in a way."
Got an issue? Block me, and be gone. This wasn't for you.

Dreamfyre laid Daenerys’ dragon eggs when Rhaena was her rider. Elissa Farman stole the eggs 75 YEARS BEFORE THE DANCE OF THE DRAGONS and sold them to the Sealord of Braavos.
The reason we know that these eggs are the gifts Daenerys receives is because of two easter eggs: that firstly, Daenerys lived in the Sealord of Braavos’ manse, and secondly, Jaehaerys I makes a comment about to Rhaena about the importance of getting the eggs back, lest they fall into the hands of “some Pentoshi spicemonger.” Illyrio Mopatis, the man who gifts Daenerys the eggs, happens to be a Pentoshi merchant who deals in spices.
The Greens have absolutely NOTHING to do with Daenerys getting her dragon eggs. Also, why are TG fighting for their right to claim ownership over the imperialist mad queen’s genocidal nuclear weapons ?
Hateful. Just hateful. The people who claim Dany will go Mad also don't think that the very man who describes how they describe Targaryens--Aemond--is a maniac with a genocidal weapon. Or they say he's at least being used to reinforce male primogeniture through Aegon's claim. So you know, we know what they really are about.

PROPAGANDA
ALEX DEWITT (DC COMICS)
1.) The term “fridging” is literally based on Alex and what happened to her. She was killed off violently by a bad guy trying to get at her boyfriend only a couple issues after she was introduced (making it obvious they only brought her in to kill her off for shock value). Her death did very little to the narrative other than hurt her boyfriend Kyle and was done in an exceedingly horrifying and violent way. (Bad guy came to the door with flowers and threatening note, broke in and attacked her, choking her to death, before [off panel] chopping her body up and sticking it in the refrigerator as a “surprise” for her boyfriend. This obviously is really fucked up and she deserves better and should win this actually (a vote for Alex is a vote for all fridging victims [in spirit])
2.) It doesn’t get much worse than being the character whose death originated the “fridging” trope. In Green Lantern Vol. 3 #54, Kyle Rayner comes home to find that Alexandra, his girlfriend, has been killed by the villain Major Force and stuffed into the refrigerator.
Alexandra DeWitt is the character whose misogynistic treatment coined the term where a character, usually female, is killed off purely to make the main character, usually male, feel bad. Even if there are other characters who have been subjected to similar levels of misogyny, Alexandra DeWitt’s treatment has been essentially immortalized.
3.) I know she’s not going to win but shout out to my home girl, literally the trope namer for women shoved in fridges. All anyone ever knows about her is that she was Kyle’s girlfriend and got murdered for his character development, even though she had plenty of potential to be her own character.
LEAFPOOL (WARRIOR CATS)
1.) For context, she’s a medicine cat, which is essentially the priest/healer of an ancestor-worshipping religion called StarClan, and there’s a rule in the living Clans prohibiting anyone from dating outside their Clan, and also prohibiting medicine cats from dating/having kits.
So she’s breaking the law by seeing a cat named Crowfeather in another Clan, and eventually gets pregnant. She secretly gives the children to her sister to raise instead, because the kits would’ve grown up in misery if their true parentage was known. When the secret gets out that they’re her kits, Leafpool became demonized to hell and back.
Crowfeather, who ALSO broke the law and fathered the kits, only got a slap on the wrist, and he’s almost certainly going to become leader. But Leafpool was demoted from her role as medicine cat (by her FATHER), treated like scum by her whole community (aside from her sister and best friend), and her children despise her for lying to them (one even tries to get her to kill herself). The narrative constantly paints her as a liar that’s getting what she deserves, and even has her children insult her at HER FUNERAL, years after the secret got out. She’s a main character and she dies OFF SCREEN between books!
It’s not even over when she dies. StarClan decides to hold a trial for her when she dies to see if she deserves to join them, or if she’s banished to cat hell for eternity. War criminals who abetted in genocide never got a trial, they were just let in. An incel who tried to kill 4 people because he was mad his ex dumped him got let in without question. But the cat whose only crime was dating someone in another Clan and having kids gets a full trial? Keep in mind their sire gets a whole book about StarClan coming down to help him, because clearly only she deserved to be punished.
Leafpool’s life is nonstop suffering because of misogynistic double standards. Treated like the devil for getting pregnant and wanting to give her kids a better life, while all the men involved get excused, coddled, and placed into positions of power.
2.) she went through So much bullshit. squirrelflight (her sister) too. i’m sure she’ll also get submitted. Cat God (starclan) vaguely told her to run away with the man she liked and then got mad at her when she did it. and then she was punished for it the rest of her life. She had kids with him and those kids were like Incredibly Important and wouldn’t exist if not for her but she’s still punished for it. BY STARCLAN. Who told her to have those kids in the first place . and of course the books just treat this like it’s pretty much normal and fair
3.) just like her sister squirrelflight, she does many things that male characters do and faces drastically different consequences. she and another cat, named crowfeather, run away from their clans to get cat married. this is illegal because they’re from different clans. when they get home, leafpool is pregnant. when all of this is revealed(years later) their punishments could not be more different. when they first come back, leafpool is suspected, talked poorly about, and outlasted. we aren’t shown any consequences towards crowfeather at all. after the grand reveal of leafpool having kids(and giving them away to her sister since she’s a doctor and doctors can’t gave kids) leafpool is forced to give up her position as doctor, is disowned as her kids aunt figure, and completely outcasted by the whole clan(mostly the same happens to her sister). crowfeather is just minorly treated poorly and gets a cat divorce.

atla live action thoughts: episode 5
SPOILERS AHEAD
tw: opinions
things i liked:
the title of the episode being a nod to ghibli is cute since ghibli was a major influence on the original
jun hitting on iroh is so fucking funny. zuko's reaction is 100% on point it's giving that scene in book 2 where iroh flirts with the ba sing se official to get passports and zuko's all "great agni please kill me now"
guessing this episode is pulling from both the swamp and the winter solstice. not mad about it, they're probably trying to eliminate some of the early filler in s2 to save time in the next season if they get greenlit. this means we're likely not getting aang having his vision of toph though :(
katara actually seeing her mother be burned to death is so much more traumatizing than the original, but i do appreciate the depth it brings to how desperate katara is to learn waterbending because she wasn't able to save her mother when it mattered
koh is just as creepy as the original, but i wish they hadn't taken out that the way he steals faces is by goading his victims into showing emotion
mai and ty lee sleeping next to each other is very cute <3
idk if i was just imagining things but it looked like azula's fire briefly turned from orange to blue at the end. guessing the season is going to end with her getting her lightning and iconic blue flames
aang getting to have one more moment with gyatso to say goodbye and gyatso assuring him the air nomad genocide wasn't his fault... tearbending
things i disliked/am conflicted about:
why on earth would sokka's traumatic memory be nearly failing at ice dodging and having to be saved by bato??? the fact that sokka DIDN'T get to go ice dodging in the original was a great way of showing us what he'd lost without male influences in his life, and his success at it highlighted his quick-thinking and ingenuity. if we needed a traumatic memory, why not use the moment where sokka watches the men sail off to war without him?? especially since the live action is so focused on how sokka grew up too soon by having to be the protector of his village and this was one of the story beats in the original that told us WHY he felt the need to live up to some impossible ideal of masculinity
sokka and hakoda's relationship in the live action is just weird in general. sokka saying his dad didn't really support him being an engineer in omashu as though hakoda wasn't just as resourceful and inventive in the original? i don't buy that hakoda would've EVER spoken about sokka like that to bato either, which also defeats the entire purpose of foiling the zuko/ozai and sokka/hakoda relationship.
fox spirit yue (?) was downright odd
no clue what they're doing with azula's character or if i like it. on the one hand, i do find it plausible that ozai would use the threat of zuko to keep azula in her place, but she feels way too visibly threatened by zuko here when she didn't seem that way up till her breakdown in the original. why would she when she was ozai's golden child pretty much right from the start?
ty lee's wig is god awful
we're more than halfway through and aang has not waterbent ONCE or made any attempt to learn... bombastic side eye
overall episode rating: 6.5/10, mostly for the odd characterization decisions.

How did the Yugoslav Wars affect your childhood? What do you think about other Balkan countries now? Would you like to see Yugoslavia back?
That is a loaded question! I was 5 while it was going on, so I don't exactly remember much, what did affect me was that male soldiers, including my father, had their rage and violence excused with 'he was in the war', which makes me so mad. For all I know they went there to rape women and shoot people, I have zero sympathy for that.
I don't think Yugoslavia will be back unless we the women abandon the boarders, and form our own female-only Yugoslavia, which I would be into. Wars and borders are male construction, we don't benefit from it at all, and there's no reason for us to stand by them.
I love all of the women from all balkan countries. I think all other balkan countries are great, only croatia sucks! I do believe that croatia is specifically a bad country, because we're hushing up the genocide of serbs still, and it's always making me mad. It's still openly nazi, fascist, racist, nationalist and extremely patriarchal country, and it drains me every day to live here.
I find all other balkan nations are at least a bit more chill and tolerant, maybe because they're not constantly hushing up a past genocide. I've noticed croats are very focused on putting blame and bad word on their neighbour countries, which I also believe is a part of the huge victim complex croatia has.
I don't remember anything of Yugoslavia, and my family never told me much (except my mom still being weirdly into the dictator), but I found books in the library detailing how life looked back then, and how close the people were in the past and the community they've formed, and it sounds... like nothing I've ever experienced. I would have loved to see it. All older people talk about the past with the fond, nostalgic tone, describing the local dances, villages working together to harvest crops, having big friend groups and stable work, having much more fun and relaxing times in life than I've ever seen anyone have right now. That made me feel like Yugoslavia had to be much better than what we have right now. But it is all stories, I've never experienced it myself past the age of 5, so I can't speak from real experience.

extremely Interesting that people turning on Wendigoon coincides with him candidly talking about being a Church Going Sunday School Teacher and him getting married this year, I'm sure that's a complete coincidence.
something also Very Funny about True Crime chicks and people engaging in breathless apologia for Actual Terrorists, genocidal militaries and other awful figures are getting pants shittingly mad at a guy about as close to Default American Male as you can get
yes gurodoll666 I'm going to take your allegations of you calling this milquetoast dude a neo nazi seriously when it's right smack dab next to a fucking fancam of a man who raped and murdered 7 women yes

Worst Undertale theories:
Frisk is canonically female because Sans says "sorry old lady" before his fight
Papyrus survived the genocide because he replaced himself with cardboard. I'm not kidding
Sans is Gojo 😭
Every lowercase sentence in the game is written by Sans.
Listen me here: Sans hacked Alphys(When she sent the ALPHYS updated status. just realized i didn't watch undyne fight the human v.c), the evidence is that it’s lowercase and also that Sans created everything that exist so he must be in every theory
Toriel is homophobic.
The theory I heard was that she was afraid HUMANITY was homophobic, thus why she said "not in front of the human" instead of "the child"
That frisk is male in genocide but female in pacifist. 🤨
Sans = Steven Universe After Not Surviving (
steven
after
not
surviving)
This probably isn't the worst theory but its one that bugs me, this old one I spotted that the reason Undyne has determination is because Alphys puts it in ice cream she eats
Any theory that goes "Gaster because Gaster" despite there being no need to include Gaster, and no evidence supporting his involvement.
That includes the theory of Gaster being involved in the Determination Experiments, despite Alphys directly saying all of it was her.
Sans can remember resets
Frisk is a monster 💀
, Genocide is justified 💀
Sans, Papyrus, Mettaton, Napstablook, Mad Dummy and Gaster were the 6 fallen humans. . . 💀
Chara controls Frisk in Genocide Route
Sans is the strongest ut character
River person = Ralsei because idk what it was but I think it was because like they share the same like cloak
ICE is Gaster (He’ll no! I don’t care if his suitcase resembles the suitcase of the true big shot Swatch, I will accept Rolux Kaard is Gaster first, their faces lineup at the very least)
Sans and Papyrus are revived humans that became monsters from Determination experiments (either by gaster??? or alphys). This would explain them "showing up out of nowhere" and how Papyrus remembers "Green Grass and flowers" before snowdin, where he remembers human life.
The Toriel's Dark Past theory
Sans bleeding Determination
the pile of asriels dust theory
Ralsei is a girl because Susie was surprised after he took off his hat.
Monsters are weaker because they are not exposed to sun and lack vitamin D 💀
Chara committed genocide on the humans before they fell underground. If I remember correctly their reasoning was that they said it was the only explanation as to why Chara was able to achieve as high a damage number as we see when they erase the world.
Soulless Pacifist is just Chara pranking you and that everyone's actually okay anyway since they're just reminding you that you did the genocides!!!!. Might as well just remove everything from the game but the Undyne the Undying and Sans fights without dialogue since there's literally no stakes in the story whatsoever if that's the case, just do the two challenging fights then be done.
Top 10:
sans remembering saves cause, imagine this, right? You do a SECOND genocide run right, reload your save file that is in the ruins, walk out of the ruins. What happens? Sans is there, sees you, and proceeds to obliterate you. And imagine how awkward it'd be to do a pacifist run AFTER a genocide run.
Flowey messed with the corpses of the kids Asgore and the others killed to gather what determination they had left.
Dr. Gaster is part wingdings and part aster because wingdings are silly like papyrus, and aster is serious like Sans. Not even Toby Fox would make sense of that, but at least the rest of the left brain - right brain theory has some evidence, if matpat's knowledge of brains is even credible i never did well enough at biology maybe i should
Chara is a villain
toriel is frisk
Sans is chara
That Sans doesn’t care about Papyrus or anyone
Um did we play the same Genocide route? Cuz he clearly does care…
Gas pipe theory
Both sans and flowey knows about the resets but flowey doesn't know it's a videogame, but sans knows it's a videogame
This is all just wrong, expect for the reset ones are backwards, the reset ones are mostly correct, the last one is just backwards, yes both remember about resets, but it’s flowey how knows it’s a game, while sans doesn’t know it is a game, it technically depends on the route, how is the strongest, but usually its flowey how’s the strongest, and besides that, all of them are wrong.

Until it finds my dreams have disappeared
I've been debating about whether or not to post this for a while. Mostly because I use my tumblr to post dumb stuff or act as a distraction from stress. I'm getting kind of tired with people though. This isn't something exclusive to the Metal Gear franchise (far from it) but it's something I've noticed happening quite frequently. Metal Gear has many characters with horrible backgrounds that suffer from PTSD/CPTSD and many mental health issues. I can't help but notice that there's a trend in the younger crowd (isn't mgs exclusive) that whenever there's a heavily traumatized character (I've only seen it happen with male characters but I assume the opposite does happen) that they considere attractive, they will simp for them and post things unironically.
It's like they see someone who they think is attractive and start actually going "NO I CAN FIX THEM! THEY'RE JUST SAD LITTLE MEOW MEOWS". Like it's fine to make jokes but when you see posts that resemble those weird celebrity fan pages bordering on obsession I think it's time to take a step back. I get some people identify with characters which is fine but they'll completely ignore said characters actions and be like "sure they killed all those people but I'd totally let them cut me up if I had the chance to smash" when the person in question isn't even real. Or there will be a character that's traumatized so badly that they think that if you just cuddle a person like that and baby them then you can fix them. I guess I'm mostly just mad because I feel like usually these are young kids who still have a chance for a good life but they're very ignorant about how people affected by trauma can be.
It's not some cute, quirky thing. It changes your whole world and your beliefs, especially when it starts in childhood. You can technically put this for any character that meets the criteria but personally for me I would have to choose Monsoon from Metal Gear Rising. He grew up with no choice but to kill to survive and witnessed the Cambodian genocide along with working for the mafia and nearly dying from that. I don't really care if someone has a crush on a fictional character, personally that's none of my business. What I'm tired of is seeing frequent posts that range from "uwu my soft cinnamon roll baby" to all the graphic smut on here depicting tortue.
I can't speak for everyone but personally I find it demeaning when being coddled by others. Yes, I went through things but please don't treat me like a child. It feels insulting. I also have no problems with BDSM but I can only take seeing so many posts that basically allude to someone drawing a character about to be raped for their own personal enjoyment. It's especially bad when people make stuff of that for characters who have already been held hostage or enslaved (I'm looking at Vergil x Mundus shippers specifically).
Trauma is not something that you can help someone overcome. It consumes them and becomes your entire world regardless of how it came to be. In fact trauma is often passed down through genes. Though you may not have someone else's memories you will have the same reactions to traumatic situations that those before you did or your body will adapt to that kind of environment. Hypervigilance can be passed down through epigenic changes in DNA.
This is where things get personal for me. Though I've never met them, I know I come down from genocide survivors. I'm either third or fourth generation. I'm not exactly sure what they saw but from what I've read it was common to see various forms of torture. One method was to stick babies in the sand and then trample over their heads with horses... Based on the family I could find and knowing their location, they must have survived the death marches and I'm unsure if they were at the final killing fields or not. That's not even mentioning everything they had being taken away from them and seeing everyone they knew suffer horrible fates. To this day bone fragments will still rise from the ground, the bodies of the dead never having been put properly to rest.
I'm unable to travel there but if I could, I couldn't help but feel like I'm being swallowed by death. Why am I here but so many perished. Then on to my father. I don't know much about him and he passed away when I was a child. All I really know about his background was that he came from a wealthy family. It was common for his friends families to have guards outside their children's bedroom doors. We lived in a western country where it was "safe" (he wasnt originally from where I Iive) but I remember he wouldn't sleep at night and would seem like he was looking for something during the day. Sometimes he just stared like he was waiting for something to happen but nothing ever came. I don't want to say that he was an intentionally cruel person, just that I don't think he had the capabilities to act like a normal human being. I was raised with a mindset of being better than others. That is to say that I wasn't supposed to have weakness. It makes sense looking back. He survived having his body messed up and I was told he survived assisnation attemps (corruption is huge down there so it's not like police could do anything). Nothing was said after so I assumed he killed whoever was after him before they could kill him. Pretty much a kill or be killed mindset.
Growing up I realized he was hard on us not to hurt us but because he thought it would make things easier for us in the future. I know it must have been even worse for him if he thought that this was being kind. Anyway he passed away when I was a child and long story short but for whatever reason my family couldn't get in contact with us so I never received my inheritance but that's for the best. I don't know how well I would have handled it at nine if I knew there was a possibility of being kidnapped or killed for the money or because someone had a grudge against my father.
I guess I always knew I was different but his death really solidified that. I was used to having to be tougher but it seems like my older sister and mother couldn't handle it. They already cried one time when we couldn't see him (which was often) and once the news broke I just remember everyone sobbing and screaming in agony. I didn't feel anything though. I realize now that it was dissociation but no tears would fall and I understood what was happening but it felt like I couldn't emotionally process it. At some point I have no memories up until a certain point. Whenever I have some sort of traumatic situation happen I suffer from dissociative amnesia. I'm not sure for how long, I just know that there are large gaps in my memory.
Right before my memories vanished I can remember not wanting to exist anymore. The day after I was surrounded by all the sobbing and knew that I couldn't let myself die. If I did I would just be trying to escape from my pain and would place it on my family. So for the last two decades I haven't really had a dream or anything to look forward to. I've just had a goal of trying not to die. There are many more traumatic things that followed which I won't get into but I dislike telling people my life story since they just give me looks of pity or seem like they want to ask how I haven't killed myself yet.
Unfortunately the kill or be killed mindset has been passed on. While I've never harmed anyone, I have recovered memories involving someone I trusted keeping me against my will and unspeakable things happening many times. I've had frequent nightmares since then and didn't know that my situation wasn't normal. By the time I was a teenager I found out that I didnt have to live my life in fear and allow abuse to keep happening. I've decided since then that I'll do whatever I can should I be faced with a similar situation in the future. I can only fight back to stop such a thing from happening again. It will most likely never occur again but it still affects my life everyday. I can't go out in public without someone I trust and even then I still scan the whole area and look for an escape route. I shouldn't have to feel like everyone around me is a possible threat to my safety and freedom.
I don't think people realize just how calming the rain can actually be. Not just the light stuff but heavy rain. It acts as a soothing white noise that drowns out your thoughts and feeling it hit your body also distracts you. I won't say when since it could reveal my location but within the last few years I was outside during a very bad storm that had frequent wet microbursts. It destroyed all the trees in the area and I almost died but I felt oddly calm. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. There was so much wind and rain that it resembled blowing snow and there was so much water hitting the ground that it would form waves that would zoom so fast and then crash only to repeat the process over and over.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm annoyed by all the sexualization of people with mental health issues. With the way some people act towards characters that don't exist, it worries me how they could treat real people going through similar situations. And on the other hand please see trauma survivors as real people. Many of us had to survive on our own and you thinking someone being terrified is just a shy/cute trait that makes them adorable is infuriating. I can't tell you how much I hate the latter. I'm so sick of people thinking that I need someone to spoil me with affection and protect me to the point where I feel like I'm being treated as a baby. It just makes me feel more weak and pathetic.

taehyung posted a photo of mcdonald’s fries on his ig really randomly so people are mad at him bc it’s obvs on the boycott list and braindead armys are defending him to the NINES😭😭😭 like bruh he’s a grown man he knew wtf he was doing
???? yeah noooo i do not fuck with that! 1) he’s 30, you do NOT need to baby him; 2) we know south korea knows abt the genocide going on in palestine; 3) i doubt bighit is just letting their artists post whatever, without censoring them. if they, or taehyung, cared about the fallout they would’ve put out a statement already. if he hadn’t known, somehow, then he would’ve known via the fan reaction and if he cared, if he cared as much as bts’s campaign for social justice and equality advertised them to care in the past few years, he would’ve said something. idk if he outright fucks w israel (if he does i would expect everyone to drop him outright, btw; i do not believe in suspending your morals for ANYONE, let alone someone who doesn’t know u exist), but tbh even if he is neutral then it’s just as bad.
it’s just so. weird. how wonyoung will be attacked for eating strawberries. but when a male idol does something actually worth criticism there’s an entire legion of people ready to give their life for him. but again: kpop fans aren’t exactly known for being nice to women.
