AN: I have an acquired brain injury, and always have a lot of feels about it on my birthday! so, disability bday comics are now a thing :)

Human Ink but he’s actually 100% human this time

I actually already made a post about my human ink here but I’ll ramble about them more if that’s okay

Ink draws stars on his pants when he’s bored in class and sometimes puts paint on his sleeves. He also wears no shoes cause he wants to “feel the earth better”. Blue sometimes forces him to wear sandals. He also writes notes on his scarf just like in canon, (it’s written “dog? TAX SEASON, Pick up Dream, Exam Tuesday”)

They also have a big bag to bring everywhere. Inside, there’s art supplies (ink pen, paintbrushes, sketchbook, pencils, ruler, IPad with broken screen (Error broke it after borrowing it for 10 minutes, he says it was an accident), stylus pen, palette knife and a box cutter (can be used as self defence teehee)). It also has three pins, one with the aroace flag, another the non-binary flag and the last one is intersex.

I think Ink would be the guy who’s in his mid twenties but is still at school (university). It’s not that he’s bad at art, it’s just that he never really understands the assignment, finishes days after the deadline and is always late for classes. (He’s so me fr)

And since art school is expensive, he’s broke and sometimes invites himself into his friends homes without any warning

I present to you the Bill Cipher flag, for when you are, in some way, Bill Cipher. In-depth explanation under the cut.

I picked the colors based on what felt meaningful to me personally, so I don't expect this flag to resonate with everyone who identifies with or as Bill. That being said, anyone who does resonate with it can use it. Gender, kin, kith, anything under the alterbeing umbrella, serious or casual, literal or non-literal, etc. Whatever form of connection or identification you have, this flag can be for you.

Stripe meanings: (aka a plain text version of the 2nd image)

Black: Eldritch Nature. Can also represent reclaiming demonized identities. Gray: Mystery and Madness. Gray the way the world grays out around Bill in dreams. Also represents neurodivergence and mental illness. 'Mystery' as a catch-all category of Bill weirdness Yellow: Genderfuckery. Yellow's meaning is tied to gender because it's the only primary color that isn't associated with a specific binary gender. Turquoise: Magic, Mischief, and Chaos. Whimsy, being just a lil guy, getting silly with it. Dark blue: Liberation and Destruction. The capability to be both a creative and a destructive force. Dealing with harmful/self-destructive impulses. Pursuing constructive outlets for expressing oneself.

Further meanings and associations:

The black and gray stripes at the top are a nod to the ace and aro flags, because so many folks who identify with Bill in some way (including myself) identify with one or both of those labels too.

Black and yellow are, of course, the main colors on Bill himself. Gray has a strong association with dreamscapes, especially when Bill visits them. I also associate gray with static. The dark blue and turquoise stripes are based on Bill's magical flames. I also associate dark blue with the portal blueprints.

Final notes:

I tried to fit in a magenta stripe or accent in the flag design somewhere, but couldn't make it look cohesive. It would've represented rebirth and second chances, and the color itself would've been a nod to the axolotl, and color picked from one of Bill's weirdness bubbles. It would've also been a fun addition due to magenta being a color that technically doesn't exist. I think a separate kin-focused design featuring magenta would be worth making sometime (not even necessarily by me--anyone can use this idea if they'd like to).

Use and share this flag however you like, with or without credit, as long as you're not outright claiming to be the one who made it lol. In my opinion, a successful flag should belong collectively to the group of people who use it just as much as (if not more than to) the creator. Of course if other flag makers feel differently then it's only polite to respect their wishes, I'm just saying that for this flag, you can do literally whatever.

Guess I should explain this AU a bit more while I'm getting ready. For people on my X knew a bit, but people here might not know. It's supposed to contain mature themes such as drug and alcohol abuse. As well as workplace harassment, withheld wages, stealing credit, etc. Wade is the main focus of the story, unlike Ember in the original. It also takes place four to five years before the movie. For example, the movie came out in June 2023, and Wade is 26, according to the Unlikely Friends book. His unofficial birthday is February 20, so he was born on February 20, 1997. So this fanfic AU is set in 2019, when Wade is about to turn 22 on the day his band, Mainstream, has their return concert after their first world tour. The return concert is actually set to be on Wade's birthday. It's ironic because they are releasing the album inspired by him and his life, "Wade to my Heart" but his manager, Ty Phuong, scheduled it on his birthday on purpose to fuck with him.

There are four members; Creek Mill, Angel Falls, Font Sailor, and Wade Ripple.

Creek is non-binary but their manager, Ty Phuong, is an asshole and refers to Creek as male often in the story and in media so he can call the band a boy band. Creek is the shortest and a drummer, they are always put next to Angel who is self-conscious about his height.

Angel is the oldest member. He can't play any instrument at all. He worked with Mr. Phuong the longest but failed because he had no musical talent besides singing. Angel is a jerk and steals credit for the band's work.

Font is the tallest and strongest, he plays bass guitar. He played Waveball to get into university to be a music major. Talks to Wade about his dad. He met Creek there but they didn't get close until they joined the band. They started dating a little after talking about how Phuong mistreated Creek. In photos, he is never allowed to be next to Creek to hide their chemistry.

Wade is the lead guitarist and writes almost all the band's songs. He is the fans' (Streamies) least favorite member. Ty Phuong is their manager, he is an air man from Chinook. He's an asshole who purposely manipulates Wade, Creek and Font in a way where they are trapped to work with him. Creek and Font have no family to return being NB and gay as well as following music careers instead of something more 'substantial.' Lastly, Wade is purposely alienated from his parents and it only gets worse after his dad dies

Some information about their world tour is here on a shirt. They visited a different country every month, but in October they went to two different countries (more in image description) I spent a long time trying to come up with element-related puns for the places they had their concerts.

Wade has a very strenuous relationship with Angel, but the other members tend to stick to themselves. Wade admits his relationship with Angel is like a toxic co-dependency, Angel would be nothing without Wade and vice versa. Or that's what he is manipulated to believe.

Dewey in this AU doesn't die until Wade turns 18, he dies from a degenerative heart disease. His backstory is about he same, but slightly different since his health deteriorates and he is forced to quit Waveball early on. This allows for Dewey to be a much softer father than the original because he knows he's dying and unable to hide it from his kids early on unlike how it is depicted in the book where he hides it until it's too late causing him to have much harsher mood swings. All the kids work hard to fulfill their dreams before Dewey passes away, graduating school early, playing Waveball, and Wade starts in the band at age 16.

Ember is actually a huge fan of the band. She owns a limited edition chainmail band shirt from the band's tour in Fireland. However, it's a size too big since the one in her size was too much. She also made a custom chainmail hoodie that she wears only every once and awhile. These are red flags for Wade originally when they first meet, but he can't seem to pull himself away from talking to her since she doesn't recognize him as a member of the band. This is how Wade is able to talk to her freely without the fear of her judging him as others have in the past.

"It was the first genuine smile I've gotten in a long time. She saw me for who I am and not what I was, it made me want to cry. At that moment I wanted to tell her the truth, but then would her smile change?"

This next part you'll have to suspend your belief for, I realized based on my sibling's criticism that Ember not recognizing Wade despite being a fan of his band strange. I admit it's a little far fetched but let me have my fantasies ok ｡ﾟ･（>﹏<）･ﾟ｡

You probably already noticed throughout, Wade and Ember are smoking. Wade unlike the other members avoids taking narcotics, bu he ends up addicted to smoking. This is the whole reason Ember takes interest in him in the first place. She's never seen a water person smoke before. This makes her chase after him and that's how they start talking. Anyway, that's all I should say without fully spoiling the story. To be honest it's strangely my comfort story. Writing Wade's backstory and how he finds solace in talking to Ember despite manipulating the truth to avoid her knowing who he really is, is sweet to me?? I read too much manwha stories ngl lmao

⚡️Frankie Stein (They/Them)⚡️

Frankie’s personality in G3 is very energetic and quite literally electric. They have dreams of becoming a monster surgeon, and they also enjoy STEM activities such as building gadgets and attachments to their body. In my design I wanted to give them a unique, almost neon-punk mad scientist, style. I feel like Frankie finds reflecting their unique identity in their self-expression to be very important. I kept their gender identity and sexuality pretty canon to the show because I think it’s amazing to see for a main character. Also as a neurodivergent person I see myself in Frankie and their personality a lot, which is why in my version they are absolutely neurodiverse in some way.

🧠Ghoulia Yelps (She/They)🧠

I know there’s a lot of dislike for Ghoulia’s new character in G3, but honestly I really do like seeing her being portrayed as a gamer ghoul type nerd versus being a numbers and tech nerd like in G1. I think her character design needs a bit of work though. In my design she’s kind of a more realistic gamer in terms of dress I feel like, and also has a bit of edge as well. I headcanon them as being slightly emo and it shows in their style hence the classic beanie, plugs, converse, and hoodie/t-shirt combo. And I feel like she’s the type to wear strictly pajama pants and sweatpants due to sensory reasons (jeans are evil), but they usually have some kind of graphic patterns on them! I feel like a good aspiration for them would be learning how to code and create video games. I could also see them enjoying animation as well, potentially incorporating their own animations into games. Also, I’m taking away the skater ghoul aspect completely just because I think the animation and video game/coding hobby is a lot more interesting!

🐾Clawdeen Wolf (She/They)🐾

Clawdeen’s character revamp in G3 is another controversial one that I see the fandom divided on as well. A lot of people miss her glamorous and fierce style, while others embrace the change. I personally adore Clawdeen’s new look, and I definitely leaned into it in my version. I felt like I just had to make her a tumblr ghoul. Idk what the Monster High equivalent of Tumblr would be, but she’d definitely be on there with blogs about books, following fan fiction tags, and aesthetic mood boards and photos. I totally get those vibes from the OG design, but I needed to see them in a beanie, flannel, tattoo choker, distressed/cuffed skinny jeans, doc martens. I also just had to give her the galaxy wolf shirt her doll outfits always have a celestial theme and galaxy print was THE shit.

so I was code diving in CT:OS to minimax the Ultimate Chad of my dream (forgive me) and noticed that trans (wo)men have the variable "trans" set as true, while non-binary mcs do not, why is that? they don't seem to have anything set, which made me curious about how that will work in the future

Ah yeps, you only get the trans flag if you specifically chose that option - non-binary folks get a specific non-binary flag. As people pointed out previously I will also include an option to be non-binary AND trans, though I haven't implemented that yet.

As of now there aren't a lot of differences I can think of between the trans and non-binary route texts, but I am planning to touch on it in the game. I've also got some really insightful suggestions and input from trans readers on what they hope to see, so I'm looking forward to finding an appropriate point in the story to explore that!

VN Anon here. Sorry if my ask caused up a stir. I genuinely wanted to compliment you on your efforts with your first VN and understand your inspirations behind it without coming off too strong.

I was so invested with how you approached Sonic and Knuckles' conflict -- it's a very solid adaptation of what tends to be the heart of their disagreements. I was a little caught off guard when I was trying to help Amy, so I did feel like I was thrown for a loop when I accidentally prioritised her external conflict over her internal conflict (I got a real good scolding from Sonic TwT). And Cream's event made me feel personally responsible and protective of her, and the background story that Vanilla wants the best for her but considers discouraging her dream of becoming a baker made me feel a bit seen lol. So I commend you for making me feel human emotions like I'm a part of the cast even as Sonic's buddy^^

The unique spin you added with the puns, the dogs, Knuckles' weeb deal was a fun break from expectations. And your thoughtfulness over avoiding narration fatigue is also something I appreciate heavily since I'm frankly not a vn player by trade. I was interested in seeing your spin on the cast since I tend to agree with your thoughts on the game cast.

Currently still on the meta section (the character swap is entertaining), but I like how Eggman is a genuine threat, an absolute control freak, and sees me as a tool! Guy's a hilarious bastard as always!

Thanks! Originally it was going to be a kinetic novel (linear VN with no choices) but due to my inexperience with RenPy at the time, I couldn't figure out how to make branching paths; every choice tended to loop back around, so I decided to work with that conceit instead.

OaS isn't fully non-kinetic, but it isn't fully kinetic either. Only one choice really matters, which determines whether you get the bad ending, and even that can be reversed if you know what to do. You might just have to suffer for it a little, is all.

Without getting too spoilery, each choice has a "bad" alternate route, which is implied to be Eggman veering things off-script. You can see this as early as the first choice, where he pops in with a jumpscare. Because there aren't a whole lot of choices, I tried to make each one weightier than usual, as well as fairly obvious.

The overall idea is that you'll evaluate each situation and choose the option that's best for the characters, rather than something you may personally want them to do. ex. Sonic says he's getting stir-crazy, so it would be kind of imposing your will on him to be like "no, stay home and read a book." The original plan was to tally each of the player's bad choices and have Sonic issue a warning if it looked like the player was on the path towards a bad ending, with each one slowly increasing the volume on the alarm. But, again, due to my inexperience with RenPy, I didn't know how to set up those variables. What I wound up doing instead was a more binary system where one choice is the "good" choice that progresses the VN like normal, whereas the other is the "bad" choice that loops you back around following a jumpscare.

There's nothing in the code that will punish you for making poor choices - you won't get any friendship points docked or anything like that - but since the game is about friendship, I was hoping Sonic's admonitions would be enough. The deterrent needs to be a little harsh in the absence of flagged variables.

(And that's before Vanilla puts the fear of God in you. :P)

Ty, I'm glad you're enjoying it. ^^ And no rush. I'm still working out the bugs in Antigravity.

Two recommendations, though: don't try to rollback or button-mash if you can. RenPy doesn't remember the last action you took while you're in the battle loop, so if you try to rollback during battle, it'll take you to the title screen.

I do want to see if disabling rollback will fix the issue, but that's for later. I'm currently working on making more maps.
