Whoever made the Damian Wayne playlist on Spotify that has strictly dramatic classical music is so correct. That kid would not listen to any "underground" or "alternative" artists (PLS, I don't mind mother mother but they're on every single slightly angsty character's playlist). That mf when asked his favorite song would say "Piano Sonata No.14 in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 27 No.2 'Moonlight': III. Presto agitato" with a straight face
#the other bat members would make fun of him and he wouldn't understand how odd it is#he thinks his taste in music is normal#all the others have trash taste in his mind#he would go into heavy detail on how classical music shaped today's modern music#damian wayne#batman#batfam#dc comics

Rewind the Tape —Episode 7
Art of the episode
Only four days to go until the premiere, and we're finally wrapping up with the last post of our rewatch. Just like we did for the pilot and for episodes two, three, four, five, and six, we took note of the art shown and mentioned in the 7th episode while we rewatched it, and put together our notes for reference. And, now, we're sharing our notes on AO3 too.
Six épigraphes antiques
Claude Debussy, 1914
This suite was originally composed to be played as a duet, but Debussy re-transcribed it as a solo piece the next year.
The Garden of Earthly Delights
Hieronymus Bosch, 1503–1515
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/dec9f256c96bb9d5e6da6a39aaa8c0ec/a8708153fe543eb1-4a/s540x810/14334fbed453a8f3c4501a92e4b56015373eefb1.jpg)
Original sin is the theme of Lestat's Mardi Gras ball. The triptych shows that sin "starts in Paradise or Eden on the left panel, with Adam and Eve, and is punished in Hell in the right panel. The centre panel depicts a Paradise that deceives the senses, a false Paradise given over to the sin of lust. This deception is encouraged by the fact that the centre panel is shown as a continuation of Eden through the use of a single, continuous landscape." [From Museo del Prado.]
Let them eat [King] cake!
A historical reference this time: this is the traditional translation of the French phrase "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche," conventionally attributed to Marie Antoinette. The quote can be traced back to Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Confessions, published in 1765, 24 years prior to the French Revolution, when Antoinette was nine years old; and was only attributed to her decades after her death.
Autumn at Arkville (again!)
We first saw this painting by Alexander H. Wyant in episode 2, in the du Lac family home! It was there during the funeral too but now, almost a decade after Grace left New Orleans, we see it in Rue Royale. We wonder: was this simple prop recycling, or should we ask ourselves how and why Louis came to have that keepsake from his family?
After the Bath: Woman Drying her Neck
Edgar Degas, 1898 [Identified by @nicodelenfent, here.]
This is the third Degas in Rue Royale! It's part of a series of studies of women drying after bathing, which includes charcoal sketches, and we suspect that the unidentified drawing from the hallway might be one of them.

Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor
Ludwig van Beethoven, 1801
The closing song of the season is a classic, better known as the Moonlight Sonata, but the first edition of the score was headed by the title Quasi una fantasia or "almost a fantasy" (a fantasia is a musical composition with roots in improvisation).
The Graduate
Dir. Mike Nichols, 1967
Not exactly a reference, but Jacob Anderson shared in interview with Collider that Rolin directed them to play that scene thinking of the final moments of this movie. Have you taken the chance to watch it during the hiatus?
If you spot or put a name to any other references, let us know if you'd like us to add them with credit to the post! And we rounded up all the unidentified pieces in this post, in case you want to take a look and see if anything feels familiar!
We're super close to the second season, and we can't wait! Of course, we'll keep watching with an eye out for interesting references, and it's always easier to find them if we're working together. So, if you spot any interesting art pieces and other references in the second season, make sure to share with the class in the tag #vampterview, and @ us or use the tag #art of the episode if you'd like us to reblog your post into our dedicated tag for these references.

Cross the Jaded Stars Solver Strains
A note! Strain C and Strain D do NOT belong to me, they belong to @mephiles97 who has graciously let me use them. If you have more questions on how C and Ds work, pop over to them!! And check out Through the Looking Glass for more D and C stuff because that's where they're coming from!
A Strains:
Nickname from humans: Demons Nickname from other Solvers: Bats Nickname for Young strain A Solvers: Pups
Notable people that have it: Jaelyn Doorman (AA) Khan Doorman (a) Nori Doorman (A) ??? (Ba)* ??? (Ab)*
AA (doubled)- bigger wings, bigger tail head...like, can't hide them big. Jae has to have hers hidden under her coat as she wraps them around her like a cloak. Her tail is more often than not tied around her waist or hiding under her desk gnawing on something. They are half again as tall as she is individually (she's nearly 5 feet)...so her wingspan is closer to being about 16 feet in length. S for comparison (7ft tall) has a wingspan of about 14/15 feet. Her tail's fangs are also bigger and sharper and more akin to hunting knives than glass shards. Strain As in JS also have their tails talking to them as soon as they start showing signs of infection regardless of their transformation state. It's a mental voice only they can hear (Jae's is already super chatty and she hasn't turned yet. It's that intrusive little 'We don't like her, we should totally bite her' moment when E's tormenting her...and is also the internal voice that was shrieking alongside Jae about 'dying' during the vision fits).
a (diluted)- has either wings or tail but not both. Still has the venom that all A strains have and the future visions.
A (regular)- See canon Uzi for wing size and tail size, also has neurotoxin venom.
Ab (Greater Hybrid)- has wings and tail and one or two reaper blades. Can displace themselves like two inches to the side via teleport. Also has visions of both past and future. Kids with this strain are dubbed "Oracles".
Ac (Greater Hybrid)-has wings and tail from Strain A and the eyes and claws from the strain C though they are more the size of DD claws. Aka...hi, here's the biomechanical Murder Drone. Kids with this strain are dubbed "Diablos"
Ad (Greater Hybrid)- has wings and tail from Strain A while a shadow limb or two and the pharyngeal jaws from Strain D. They are capable of minor illusions and can patchily cloak themselves to become camouflaged. They also have the Strain A neurotoxin and future visions. Kids with this strain are dubbed "Fiends".
B Strains
Nickname from humans: Reapers Nickname from drones: Scissors Nickname for young Strain B Solvers: Safety Scissors/Butter Knives
Notable People that have it: ??? (b) * ??? (Bd) * ??? (Ba) ** ??? (Ab) **
BB (Doubled): Generally has about 6-8 Reaper Blades (insanely sharp 'bladed limbs' of 'invisible' air...will be tinged the same color as the Solver Drone's light that can fold back against the drone's back to make more a 'shield'...is strong enough to deflect bullets as we saw Doll deflect "Tessa's" shots) and they range from being smooth to serrated. They are able to see the past or force others to see the past as well as teleport multiple times within moments.
b (diluted): Will have two reaper blades at most, can teleport but at most a few inches to dodge a blow. Can still see the past/force others to see the past.
B (Regular): What I gave Canon Doll with a little flavoring from Kirie from Internecion Cube. Will have 4-6 Reaper blades and they are smooth, more like knives. Can Teleport and see the past/force others to see the past.
Ba (Greater Hybrid): Will have 4-6 Reaper Blades and can teleport like the others as well as have visions of both past and future. They will have wings OR tail much like a diluted strain A. These children are called "Oracles".
Bc (Greater Hybrid): Will have 4-6 Reaper Blades and can teleport like the others, can have visions of the past. Will have an optic array like the C strain does and claws about the size of a DD. They do not have a gun. These children are called "Spellshots"
Bd (Greater Hybrid): Will have 4-6 Reaper Blades and can teleport like the others, can have visions of the past. They have the D strain's pharyngeal jaws and are capable of creating minor illusions. These children are called "Wraiths"
C Strains
Nickname from humans: Marksman Nickname from drones: Snipers Nickname for young Strain C Solvers: Pistols
Notable People that have it: Luke Sterling (c) Emmett Sterling (Cd)
CC (doubled): ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE claws with knuckles that drag the ground. Can make both their arms go from claws to fleshy sniper guns rather than one or the other. Has an ocular suite much like a DD does.
c (diluted): can manifest claws about the size of a DD's, no gun. Debatable if they have the ocular suite as well (In JS they do, unsure about LG).
C (Normal): Claws are long enough the knuckles will brush the ground, one arm will become the C Strain's gun. They have the optical suite much like a DD does (JS after the first transformation will have these eyes permanently, LG is unknown and at Silver's discretion)
Ca (Greater-Hybrid): Claws are long enough that the knuckles will brush the ground, has the gun and eyes as well that is typical for a C strain. They have either the wings OR the tails of the Strain A and are capable of seeing visions. They also have the strain A Neurotoxin. These children are called "Diablos" just like their Ac counterparts.
Cb (Greater-Hybrid): Claws are long enough that the knuckles will brush the ground, has the gun and eyes as well that is typical for a C strain. These children are called "Spellshots" much like their Bc counterparts.
Cd (Greater-Hybrid): Claws are long enough that the knuckles will brush the ground, has the gun and eyes as well that is typical for a C strain. They have the D strain's pharyngeal jaws and one or two shadow limbs, though the latter will manifest post transformation. They are also capable of minor illusions or cloaking. These children are called "Trickshots"
D Strains
Nickname from humans: Ghosts Nickname from drones: Spooks Nickname for young Strain D Solvers: Boos
Notable People that have it: Alice Sterling (d) (Note from old convo that I found funny: She didn't need mind fuggary in JS but here we are") Beau Sterling (Dc) ??? (Bd) ** ??? (d) *
DD (Doubled): Aura of System Shock is larger, able to effectively become invisible to both organic and inorganic life. Illusions are more realistic and cannot be seen through other than by another D Strain. They have more shadow limbs and their pharyngeal jaws' teeth are much larger (think almost as big as the ones we see on Eldritch J).
d (Diluted): Can cloak but it is very patchy and easily noticable, aura of System Shock is very small and can effect only a handful of people. Illusions are more akin to what Eldritch J showed at the beginning with 'Frank' and cannot be projected far. They have one or two shadow limbs and their pharyngeal jaws' teeth are smaller.
D (Regular): Able to project illusions around themselves and in general area. The lower oil level they have the more their 'mind fuggary' System Shock effects those around them ranging from headaches to full on fainting. They are able to cloak in plain sight only barely visible by small pieces of colored code. They are unable to be seen on camera. They have pharyngeal jaws that manifest soon after infection is visible though the shadow limbs are available after first 'transformation' (Note: This is for JS, LG has different reasoning!)
Da (Greater-Hybrid): Able to project illusions around themselves and in general area, are able to cloak themselves, have the typical shadow limbs that a D strain has and have the pharyngeal jaws. The also have wings OR tail from Strain A as well as the neurotoxin and future visions. These children are called "Fiends" much like their Ad counterparts.
Db (Greater-Hybrid): Able to project illusions around themselves and in general area, are able to cloak themselves, have the typical shadow limbs that a D strain has and have the pharyngeal jaws. They also have about two reaper limbs and can teleport just out of reach of a blow (a few inches) from their B strain parent. They also have the ability to see the past or force others to see the past. These children are called "Wraiths" like their Bd counterparts.
Dc (Greater-Hybrid): Able to project illusions around themselves and in general area, are able to cloak themselves, have the typical shadow limbs that a D strain has and have the pharyngeal jaws. They also have the C strain parent's claws, though they are about the same size as a Disassembly Drone's rather than the full C Strain's as well as the optical suite which appears after first 'transformation' upon reaching single digits and will remain with the Dc child much like their jaws do. (This is for JS, not LG). These children are called "Trickshots" like their Cd counterparts.
A Child with a Worker/Disassembler Parent and a Solver Parent that is diluted has a 50% chance of becoming a Solver Drone. Of that, there is a 50% chance that they gain the Normal form of the diluted Parent's strain. (So for example...a Worker and b Strain solver might have a B strain child).
A Child with two Solver parents will always either be a Doubled or Greater Hybrid. Example: Jaelyn is an AA strain despite her father being a Diluted strain and her mother being a Normal strain. Emmett is a Cd strain despite both his parents being Diluted strains...Emmett exhibits Strain C dominant traits, Beau exhibits Strain C dominant traits.
In terms of oil consumption from Greatest to least:
AA A Ac a Ab Ad CC Ca C c Cb Cd Ba Da Bc Dc BB B Bd b DD Db D d
aka...Jaelyn gets REALLY hungry REALLY fast (and also VERY hostile VERY fast) compared to say Beau who gets hungry but not so much as Emmett or Khan. Strain As and Strain Cs will fight each other for material as they both need it especially for first transformation.
(* Will be given at a later date) (** Same as first mention)
#cross the jaded stars#solver strains#me and silver's ramblings!#if y'all want more on Strain C and D go chat Silver up#They'd LOVE to hear y'all talk with them#They don't bite#hard.

Much like Satie week, Beethoven week involves resisting the urge to continue obsessing over Schubert. But there is a connection here! They were fans of each other's work and Schubert was really into Beethoven
From the Schubert wiki page:
In 1822, Schubert made the acquaintance of both Weber and Beethoven but little came of it in either case; however, Beethoven is said to have acknowledged the younger man's gifts on a few occasions. On his deathbed, Beethoven is said to have looked into some of the younger man's works and exclaimed: "Truly, the spark of divine genius resides in this Schubert!" Beethoven also reportedly predicted that Schubert "would make a great sensation in the world," and regretted that he had not been more familiar with him earlier; he wished to see his operas and works for piano, but his severe illness prevented him from doing so.
On 26 March 1828, the anniversary of Beethoven's death, Schubert gave, for the only time in his career, a public concert of his own works.
Five days before Schubert's death, his friend the violinist Karl Holz and his string quartet visited to play for him. The last musical work he had wished to hear was Beethoven's String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 131; Holz commented: "The King of Harmony has sent the King of Song a friendly bidding to the crossing."
Schubert was buried, at his own request, near the grave of Beethoven, whom he had admired all his life, in the village cemetery of Währing on the edge of the Vienna Woods. A year earlier he had served as a torchbearer at Beethoven's funeral. In 1872, a memorial to Franz Schubert was erected in Vienna's Stadtpark. In 1888, both Schubert's and Beethoven's graves were moved to the Zentralfriedhof where they are next to the later graves of Johann Strauss II and Johannes Brahms. Anton Bruckner was present at both exhumations, and he reached into both coffins and held the revered skulls in his hands.
Emphasis mine because what the fuck, but I guess I would also hold Schubert and Beethoven's skulls or really any human skull if given the chance

Thursday, 11-28-24, 7pm Pacific
'Evenin', everyone...Mr. Baggins back with a set to soothe your achin' nerves and help ease us all into a good night. I've designed a fairly diverse evening's show, ending on a very special note. Let's start off with a concerto for the oboe, this one by George Philip Telemann, his Concerto in F minor for Oboe and Strings. Our oboist is Heinz Holliger, with Marriner/ASMF, a recording made in 1982. Enjoy!
youtube
Now let's hear Horowitz in the very first concerto recording he ever made, for EMI/HMV, as well as the first recording of this concerto, in 1930! This is the deservedly famous reading that is insanely fast, conducted by then bad-boy conductor Albert Coates at the helm of The London Symphony, in Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 3 in D-minor, Op. 30. Historic reference recording for a reason! Just sit back and be amazed. This is 1930!
youtube
Now let's hear, as an encore, Horowitz' jack-hammer recording of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody Number 6, from 1947. Be amazed for a few minutes longer. It'll be ok.
youtube
Turning from Liszt to Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, we hear his Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47, played by the incomparable Jascha Heifetz, with The Chicago, led by then assistant-conductor Walter Hendl, from a 1960 RCA recording. Another jaw-dropping performance!
youtube
I thought we'd hear from Lenny and The Vienna next, conducting one of his signature pieces, the Dmitri Mitropolous transcription of Beethoven's String Quartets Nos. 14 and 16 for String Orchestra. Lovingly rendered live from 1979!
Next we hear another historic recording, this one of Mozart's Divertimento no. 17 in D major K334 for 2 horns and strings, K334, with father and son Aubrey and Dennis Brain on horns, with the Léner Quartet, from 1939.
youtube
Now a little Divertimento by Haydn, his Divertimento a Tre for Horn, Violin and Cello. Recorded for the NDR about 1985. Ab Koster Horn, Ingrid Götl Violin and Dieter Götl Cello
youtube
And this evening, I have saved the best for last, as it were. Here, finally, is the String Quartet whose performance of both the Debussy and Ravel Quartets was such that it blew me away: The Via Nova Quartet! For years all I had was my original "Musical Heritage Society" album of the Debussy and Ravel String Quartets. I didn't hear or read ANYTHING about them, or about any other recordings, after that, for literally decades.
I've always used those two performances as the ultimate reference recordings of the works when I'd play them for people, so I always wondered if there were more out there to hear. I've been searching on YouTube for awhile, and could not find them. I accidently stumbled upon the very recordings, plus the Roussel Quartet, all performed by The Via Nova Quartet (under their French name, Quatuor Via Nova), recorded some time around 1970.
I am SO HAPPY I FOUND IT! I have wanted to share this very album with y'all from the beginning, at least the first two quartets, that is, and I will be hearing the Roussel Quartet for the very first time, right along with y'all. Truly classic performances of the first two, so we can expect nothing less for the Roussel! Here is The Via Nova Quartet, Paris, playing the string quartets of Debussy, Ravel, and Roussel. Originally recorded for Erato in France, issued in America by The Musical Heritage Society.
While it might have been a touch "modern" for some ears, the Roussel was, indeed, also filled with moments of intense beauty. More listening is required! And so, those three beautiful string quartets bring our program to a close for this evening. This is Mr. Baggins signing off for another evening. I do hope you've enjoyed tonight selections, and possibly heard something new to your ear. I'll return tomorrow with Morning Coffee Music, at 8am Pacific.
Until then, dream sweet dreams, babies, dream sweet dreams.
Baggins out.

Wore count:
The whole team had been working on this case for 2 days straight, and yet they were no closer to catching this un-sub; who was a complete freak of nature.
Kidnapping young girls between the ages of 11-16, and no one had been able to track him, not even Garcia. They had found a few of the girls that the un-sub had taken and hurt, and they were questioned then reunited with there family; the un-sub had realised that the team were onto him and had started to become more and more of a threat, he's escalated to filming himself torturing these poor young girls, it had even gotten Hotch to shed a tear.
It was currently 3:45pm and it was practically a rainstorm outside, the sky a mix of light and dark grey clouds as a cacophony of raindrops rained down upon the police station the team were in, Hotch and Rossi were discussing ways to catch this horrific un-sub if they got close, Prentiss and JJ were putting together some care packages for any girls they find and bring into safety, alongside Garcia, Reid and Morgan. Garcia was the one who came up with the idea, which was not unusual considering her caring nature, but what was unusual was the fact she'd been serious and sharp, for the entirety of the case so far.
"Babygirl why are we putting bars of chocolate and bags of sweets into these boxes?" Morgan piped up as he placed both a bag of haribo's and a large bar of chocolate into one of the 'care boxes' as Garcia and JJ deemed them, "Because chocolate and sweets are a universal healer, and also Reid said these girls' sugar levels would probably be low so this is a good way to help them..", Garcia said with an unusual melancholy tone towards the end of her explanation.
Morgan leaned over to and gave Garcia's hand a comforting squeeze, which she appreciated, Reid had started a rant about how sugary things have both a negative and positive effect on serotonin levels, when Hotch called them into one of the presentation rooms with a harsh 'Agents,' his voice Cold but with a hastily undertone, all 5 agents practically leaped out of there seats, and followed Hotch.
"We've just been sent a tip that one of the girls our unsub has taken hostage has been killed, and another has managed to escape, a nurse on her way from her night-shift saw a young girl, said to be around ages 13 to 14, sprinting down a sidewalk," said Hotch, and Rossi continued, "She's got y/h/c, around y/hgt, and she was seen wearing a large grey t-shirt and undergarments, if we find it's most likely she'll have a bad cold or even a minor case of pneumonia; it is imperative we find her as quick as possible."
All of the agents in the room felt their hearts ache, and after a few beats of silence penelope raised her hand, her gaze cast onto the linoleum, "Yes Garcia?" Hotch questioned, "since my brilliant, glorious computer skills can't be used as much as usual....i- I was wondering if I could go out into the field with the other age-" "babygirl you know I love you, but.." Derek let's out a sigh, but a specific one that let's penelope know that he's gonna tell her 'no', in some way shape or form, "I- I mean do you even know you have your gun qualification and stuff but...baby I wouldn't forgive myself if you got hurt...I'm sorry.."
Oh for goodness fucking sake-
"I know I'm your princess but for the love of God I'm not a fragile little baby! I've gone through case through case seeing innocent people: old, young, rich, poor, and more, just being slaughtered and tortured, and this time it's little girls who should be having slumber parties and going to soccer or cheer practice! But they can't do that...if we find that girl who's been spotted," she turns to Hotch, "I would like to take care of her, atleast until her parents get here..if that's okay?"
Hotch nods, and before he could open his mouth again, the sheriff comes sprinting into the room, "SSA hotchner, we have some information on that girl that's been spotted!" He exclaimed, out of breathe, that had penelope out of her seat in an instant.
"Whoever hurt those little girls is gonna my high-heeled foot right up there ass, what's the info on her that you've got?" Penelope said, shocking all of the others, "her names y/n y/l/n, she's 13, she was spotted on 18th avenue with a nun practically chewin' her out, apparently she's now at the church the nun was from."
☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆
The team pulled up at the church at around 5pm in a black SUV, Penelope was one of the first ones out of the car, and the only one with a bulletproof FBI vest on - at Morgans request -, penelope barged her way into the church and quickly scanned her eyes across the chappel, before her eyes landed a girl who looks like she'd been to hell and back, mascara running down her cheeks, eyes puffy and red, hair wet, small frame shivering as she sat in one of the pews, penelopes legs and feet moved before she could think, blankets in hand.
"Oh poor baby, you're going to be alright, I'm with the FBI's behavioural analysis unit, my name's Penelope Garcia and I'll make that evil man won't lay a hand on you ever again, okay sweet angel?" She spoke softly, wrapping one of the cushiony blankets around the poor unfortunate girl, "i-i'm s-sorry.." the young girl murmured quietly, tears welling up in her eyes, "oh no no no, don't apologise it is not your fault, that people in this world don't have a shred of humanity..come here angel"
The y/h/c girl latched onto Penelope, like if she let go, the world would end, sobbing her innocent heart out; after a few minutes, Pen felt a hand on her back, rubbing softly, she thought she knew who it was, but when she saw a pale hand start to caress the young girls hair, she turned to see Spencer, "we'll make sure you get back to your mom and dad as soon as possible sweetheart." He said gently, not wanting to startle her, the girl hiccuped before she shakily spoke, "You'll take me to the cemetery?"
What!?
"Honey...did you just say cemetery?" Penelope said with a confused tone, "my parents are dead...have been since I was 4.." she said, huddling closer to Penelope and Spencer; before Penelope could coo words of comfort, one of the nuns rushed out, Hotch and Emily hot on her tail, "I've said all I need to now if you'll excuse me.." she said, drawing a cross with one hand and holding a rosary in the other, hastily making her way over to one of the further away pews.
"She said that y/n here ran into by accident and has lots of bad cuts and scrapes but couldn't bring herself to patch her up due to her hemophobia, so she helped us find a first aid kit," Emily knelt down to y/n after her explanation, making sure to keep her tone steady and calm, "Dr Reid here," she says motioning towards spencer, " is a germaphobe, so who would you prefer to patch you up? I'm agent Emily prentiss, this is penelope garcia as you probably already know."
No offense to Emily, but you felt much safer in the hands of penelope, "i-is it okay if m-ms garcia helps m-me?" You said with a quiet tone, huddling up to pen more, trying to take in as much of her warmth as possible, "That's perfectly okay, sweetheart, would you be okay with coming back to the poli-" "NO!"
Everyone fell silent as a flush of embarrassment rose up from your neck to your cheeks, "hey, hey hey....sweet baby I'm gonna need some context okay?"
Tears started to well up in your eyes again, mind swarming with rapid thoughts, "I...if..if you take me to the police...they'll put me back in the f-foster care system..I was r-running away from the home I got placed in.." and the flood gates opened. You felt as if you couldn't stop the seemingly never ending stream of tears as Penelope rocked you back and forth in her warm, comforting arms, rubbing soft circles on your back whilst she coo'd soft words of comfort & reassurance, "it's okay sweet girl...shh sh it's okay, I'll make sure you don't get put in the hands of any cruel person ever again, even if my life depends on it..oh sweet girl."
Mama bear mode? Activated.

You and the team were now back the station, safe and sound; you had been given a hoodie and a pair of hot pink sweatpants, courtesy of Penelope herself, speaker of Penelope, you were currently sat on her lap munching on a chocolate bar whilst pen is nibbling on a bag of haribos after she had patched you up, "so I guess those were necessary," spoke Derek as he sauntered over to the two of you, "chocolate and sweets are a universal healer" you say with a mouth full of chocolate, causing penelope to erupt with giggles as you unknowingly quoted her.
---
From that day forward you became y/n Garcia, Penelope had asked Hotch if he could help out with the legal stuff of adopting you and getting you away from the horror of the Foster home you were in.
You also helped the team successfully catch the un-sub, even mustering up the courage to speak out against him in court (with the support of all of the team.)
"Stich - from lilo & stich - once said 'Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten." - Penelope Garcia.

Taking a moment to be joyfully petty:
Last night I went to a cocktail lounge with my parents, sister and my parent’s friends and their daughter … stay with me on this…. The friends have always bragged about how amazing their daughter is and how talented and how much MORE talented than everyone else she is.
I was already drinking and I got annoyed, shocking I know, and so I asked if Maya still played piano. (Because that was a huge thing they always bragged about) and they answered for her saying essentially “omg yeah she’s so amazing she can play anything even if you put her on the spot.”
NOW. A friend of mine is dating the owner of the bar and I asked maya if she’d play something on the piano. She kept hedging, saying she wouldn’t be allowed, she wasn’t in the mood, etc etc. so I got up and walked to the owner and asked if I could play something. He asked me if I was good and I said “pretty good” and he said ok so I then sat down and played the third movement of Beethoven’s piano sonata no. 14 in C sharp minor FROM MEMORY. I did it near perfectly.
Then I got back to our table and downed the rest of my martini and just stared smugly at the friend’s and daughter.
BITE ME BITCH I PLAY EVERY DAY
