I like to remind myself that no one ever actually sat me down and promised me a life free from struggle. When I expect a life free from struggle, I find myself mired in resentment every time I encounter a problem.

What feels gentler to me these days is to remember that a good day is a day where the only problems I encounter are ones that I already know how to solve from previous experience.

On days when I come upon a problem that I’ve never had to solve before, I try to recall that I’m building an easier day for myself that I’ll get to enjoy later on. Nice!
