Today You Learned about Nicolas Flamel's house!

In case you were unaware: yes, Nicolas Flamel was a real man, a French bookseller who died in 1418. He is not just a character in Harry Potter. Sometime (about two hundred years) after his death, however, because of his generosity, and because people love cool stories, legends popped up that he was actually an alchemist who, after getting a hold of an old alchemy book, created the Philosopher's Stone, and with it he both became incredibly wealthy and learned how to live forever.

Also, True Fact: he designed his own tombstone:

We don't actually have any evidence that he suddenly became incredibly wealthy, though he was certainly generous with the money he had, donating it to different causes and institutions around the city of Paris. People claim to have seen him, or that his tomb is empty...

Look, that's all unlikely. But! He was a real person, and his house is still there in Paris to this day! And you can visit it! It's not a museum, though, it's a restaurant: the Auberge Nicolas Flamel.

I've been there! It was good food! Also: it's expensive. So, uh, maybe not the best place to go unless you're really splurging. I liked the idea of going to an alchemist's house though, and at the time I was super into that sort of thing.

I mean, Flamel is already pretty much magi-coded, why not take it one step further? PRIMO MATERIA

The witch of the philosopher's stone, its nature is biological immortality. It has the ability to manipulate the chemical structure of anything from metal to human flesh, and change it to whatever it pleases. Its apparent intelligence fluctuates from of a wise genius to only a clingy baby.

The doppel of biological immortality, its form is a philosopher's stone.

Each of its segments are in the shape of one of the five alchemical polygon going in numerical order, with the icosahedron containing the witch, which has aged so far backwards from the philosopher's stone's magic, its now a fetus, using its treasured stone as a womb.

I'd imagine if Flamel was a magi (and therefore magireco unit), he'd have a trio unit with Pernelle (with Torte as the third wheel), and combine with Hermes Trismegistus and Torte's doppel.

Why had no one made the correlation that Nicolas Flamel could very well be merlin? Like the man creates a stone to live forever! More likely he was stuck immortal and was tired of creating fake aliases while he wanted for Arthur's return. And it's very well possible that Harry was a reincarnation of Arthur, as the "chosen one set to unite the kingdom" and conveniently Flamel dies when Harry finally takes his place as the chosen one.

Albus POV, Godric's Hollow 1899

Albus felt a strained smile stretch across his face, “yes, well anyway. I, um, met Gellert and we, hit it off, so to speak.” Nicolas gave a hoot of laughter and slapped his knee so hard he splashed tea all over his night robe. Albus looked at him in shock. Nicolas laughed and laughed until tears were streaming down his cheeks. He wiped them away with the sleeve of his robe.  “Oh Albus, tell me your face is misleading me, dear boy, you did not ‘hit it off’ with Grindelwald, you hit it hard with him, didn’t you?” Albus blanched. His mouth popped open but he couldn’t find his voice. Suddenly a soft female voice floated in over Nicolas’ renewed laughter.  “Good gracious Nick, what in Merlin’s name, oh hello Albus.” Perenelle Flamel was wrapped in a floral dressing gown and standing in the doorway to the room.  “Penny, Penny, get in here! Albus was just telling me about his steamy fling with the most recent Dark wizard to make a grasp for power.” If this news shocked Perenelle she had the grace to not show it. “Really?” she smiled with raised eyebrows. “Do tell us the details Albus, oh to be young and full of raging hormones!” She unabashedly threw Nicolas a longing glance, which he returned.  “Come now Penny, there will be plenty of time for that later, it’s not like we haven’t done it before.” Perenelle swept into the room and plopped down next to her husband, her hair was equally white and her face had gentle lines at the corners of her eyes. Nicolas pulled her to him and swept his arm around her shoulders, holding her close.  “I apologize Albus, you just, you should have seen your face,” he said, and broke out into a whole new round of giggles.  Perenelle slapped his knee and said firmly, “enough Nick. Let the poor boy tell his tale. There must be an important reason for a meeting at such an ungodly hour.” Albus cleared his throat, and then said, “so as I was saying, we really took to each other.”  “Took each other to bed more like,” murmured Nicolas and Albus felt his face redden.
