I have another batch (episode) of comics not quite ready to go. Unfortunately, my colon exploded at the beginning of March, and I almost died. 😬 I'm continuing to recover (well, but it's a somewhat frustrating process). So finishing those comics is a low priority right now. (It's "just" sizing and placing dialogue boxes, but there are a looooot for a looooot of comics 😅).

I hope you're doing well! I'm sure you've lived a lot of life after following the comics on DA. 😁

This is a phrase I just heard from Dnd shorts that captures perfectly why I often try to make the effort of commenting on posts and telling people that I enjoy their work and why Even to small creators, I advice everyone to make the extra effort to tell them, I can guarantee it makes all the difference in the world, it's not cringy or obnoxious, it'll just brighten someone's day

Greetings! I hope you are well, I greatly admire your writing, it is the type that if you feel nostalgic or want comfort you reread and it is a pleasant space to be in mentally. I wanted to know if there is the slightest and perhaps minuscule possibility that your plans are to write a Jackiexhyde fic where instead of chasing Donna during the first season, he is chasing Jackie. Yes, I know that at that time they really disliked each other but there is something really curious about Hyde's attitude from season one that makes me say to myself "hmm just imagine the possibilities of this carefree Hyde who goes wherever the wind takes him." What if it had been like that with Jackie instead of the apprehensive person and prepared for everything to go wrong that he really was (because let's admit it before starting he was already preparing the funeral of their relationship) I want to think that the reason why Hyde is so different from the moment he tried with Donna compared to when he tried with Hackie, the thing is that by season 5 he was already a man fed up and disappointed with even those he didn't know, while Hyde season one still retained a minimum of innocence. And let's admitted that if learns how to dance is a romantic gesture, sure as hell Would be THE GESTURE for Jackie

A set of specific circumstances drive Hyde to pursue Donna in S1. She and Eric aren't official(ly, concretely) together yet. Hyde tries to stop Eric from giving Donna his class ring since then Eric and Donna are official, and Hyde won't go after his best friend's girl. Of course, Hyde is in deep denial and ignores Donna's directly stated, "I'm here with Eric, not you," in "Ski Trip" (1x13) then (rather delusionally) tells her in "First Date" (1x16) tells her he believes she has (romantic) feelings for her.

Jackie is officially Kelso's girlfriend from (before) "That '70s Pilot" (1x01). Ignoring his dislike of Jackie, Hyde wouldn't pursue her romantically because of that. But this problem has an easy fix: when Jackie suggests she and Kelso break up in "That '70s Pilot" since she can tell he's not enjoying their time together, Kelso agrees. Their relationship ends after two weeks of dating (exposition cut from the U.S S1 eps but remains in the U.K. eps).

For me, though, this story would be a major canon-divergent AU, necessitating too many changes to Hyde and Jackie's fundamental S1 characterization (for me to be inspired to write). My fic One Difference: The Answer's Probably Yes is close to your premise but folds canon into it.

As a consolation, here's a comic I made where Hyde gets refresher dancing lessons for his wedding to Jackie.

And a ficlet I wrote showing the aftermath of Jackie tricking Hyde into taking a backroom dancing lesson (a throw-away line on the show that adds significantly about what we don't see on-screen of Jackie and Hyde's relationship).
