From one Jack simp to another, THANK YOU for your takes and advocating for him, I enjoy reading them all 🙏😭 My hot take is that I have a bit of mixed feelings over Jack being a New Years SSR; I was hoping he'd be a SR. I'M HAPPY OF COURSE!! He looks amazing and it's been so long since his last event SSR, but... I do consider New Year events kind of like mini filler events like MasterChef. They're just not interesting, nothing of substance happens and it's not lore-driven. I think it's kind of a waste to put Jack as a main SSR in an event like this. The cons of Jack being a SSR is that it will cut off the chances of him being the main SSR of a story-driven event for a good while. I was hoping he'd be a SSR for the 2025 halloween event (he had a SR and R card so he's due to a SSR) but it's highly unlikely that a character gets 2 event cards in the span of less than a year. Uh, if they're not the marketable housewardens. (EVENT SSRs I mean. Not counting Club cards or book 7 exclusive cards.) I guess my hopes for a Jack hometown event for 2025 are shattered 😭 I'm still salty that Tapis Rouge ever happened. Vil, who already had 2 EVENT SSRs and was due to getting ANOTHER ONE SOON (Tsum 3 with a Malleus, Vil and Idia SSR was already a certainty) had a "hometown" event before Jack. It makes no sense to me since; we already HAVE a snow-white themed event (Haverston) and didn't need a second one and Vil only spoke about his father like 2 or 3 times in voice lines. Jack on the other hand constantly brings up his family and his siblings whenever he can and spoke about them MULTIPLE times. He deserved this, idc.

Uh, let's hope the groovy for Jackie's new year SSR is good and not another disappointment 😭 and hey, at least he is guaranteed to appear in 2025 halloween event! As a SR I hope... They wouldn't give them ANOTHER R card, right? R-Right??

I understand this on every level.

On one hand we are so desperate for Jack to get more focus that we will take literally anything and appreciate every scrap we are given because DANG THAT CARD LOOKS AMAZING--me being especially glad there are no Pomefiore cards this round to go with it. But on the other hand New Years events aren't that special and it feels like a very lazy way to throw Jack a bone because if the game updates for long enough, all of the characters could theoretically get a New Year's SSR.

Our boy is getting something, but he still deserves better. The game is so prone to neglecting him that I fear they'll say, "Well that's our Jack feature for the next three years!" You're right, a hometown event for him is basically out of the question for this year, but Halloween may still be on the table because of how far away it is! The spacing may be just enough for them to give him to us this year! Please please please pleasepleasepleaseplease. . .

(Now, I still have reservations in regards to Halloween because Jack's birthday is almost immediately afterwards, but that type of thing hasn't stopped the game from featuring SSR cards of a character during their birthday month (MALLEUS) so I won't accept that as an excuse anymore.)

New Years Event

So far the majority is interested in all the listed events and I decided to go ahead and post the prompt list for the Turning a New Leaf New Years event. Each day up until the 31st of December we have a new prompt starting on the 25th. You can create art or write any kind of fic (ficlet, one-shot, multi-chapter fic) or both. Proposal: Revival of the Inkopolis New Years Celebration Event (Debate #1)

((There will be 7 debates for this idea, so expect 7 polls prior to Christmas (the deadline) on whether or not to revive the new year event with some refining and changes.

It was an event with the intent to keep the Inkopolis community on Tumblr together whether they are a roleplayer, a writer, an artist, etc. They are rewarded "badges," "trophies," and other honorable titles. I even let people nominated others.

The reason the events stopped was basically a bad case of someone raining on my parade, and I have actually gotten over that drama and grew up.))

AuDHD is so funny sometimes like what do you mean my hyperfixations/special interests will last for years on end or possibly forever but they will cycle out every month or two with absolutely no transitional period or warning. like i will think about the same topic every day obsessively for 46 days in a row and on the 47th day with no visible cause adhd brain goes "ok! bored of that now" and autism brain goes "dw i got something queued up for ya" and i blast into full blown obsession on some other topic whose mental file folders haven't opened in 9 months. brain's out here treating hyperfixations like a crop rotation. once the dopamine runs out it cycles in another one but once something's in the rotation it never ever leaves. last summer we brought in one from when i was 11. it's so funny to me but frustrating too bc like. i cannot stress enough my inability to predict or control this. or how completely abrupt and random it can be

Daria was out on a weekend buying some stuff that her and her brothers were running low on. Usually Nester would be sent for these types of errands, but today he was resting so Daria took it upon herself the eldest of the bunch to go do it. While in a small store that sells teas and coffee’s she was tapped on the shoulder. When she turned her head she was greeted by a raven haired girl, much shorter than her, and honestly a bit adorable.

“Excuse me, are you Daria Olympia?” The girl asked looking up at her “yes, may I know who you are and why you’re asking?” She said as she placed a bag of French coffee into her basket “yes of course. My name is Sephie. I go to school with your Cousins, Idia and Ortho. I was wondering if you’d like to have some tea with me and chat if you are free?” The girl, Sephie, said with a soft voice. Daria noted the small blush as she mentioned her cousins but decided not to mention it. “I’d like that, Idia told me a bit about you. Let me just buy these items and we’ll be on our way”

After a bit the two were on their way to nrc to have the tea Sephie had promised. Thankfully Daria was in a simple button up shirt alongside some dress pants so it was appropriate for this occasion. “Are you fond of tea Ms. Olympia?” “Quite a bit yes, though I usually drink coffee. But on a day like this tea is best” she replied as the two walked through the large gate of the school “what type do you like. I have chamomile, Iris, Rose, Pomegranate- that one is personally my favorite. But if you like more normal stuff like black or green I’m sure I have some somewhere.” Sephie listed as she read them of a small notebook “I’ve never had pomegranate tea, let’s try that one shall we?”

Soon the two sat down at a garden that was in the pomefiore dorm. “So Sephie, what exactly did you want to talk about?” Daria asked as she stirred her tea before taking a sip out of it, the taste was a bit sweet but other then that she liked it quite a bit, she’ll have to ask Sephie where she got it from. “Oh yes. I just wonder if it is alright with you if we have a talk about your family, and especially a certain... Blue flamed gentlemen. I must say it must be interesting to have a lot of family members..." She finished, a small blush forming on her face. Daria smiled at her “of course. Ask whatever you want. And yes, my family is… interesting as you, said it” Sephie returned the smile and the two started talking.

Soon the sun was setting and the two ladies started heading towards the gates of the school. “This was lovely Sephie, I enjoyed it very much” Daria told the younger girl as she stepped outside the gate “as did I. Let’s do this again” Sephie replied with a smile “thank you again for agreeing to meet me and chat Ms. Olimplya” “please, call me Daria” the Raven haired nodded before the two bid farewell and started walking away.

As Daria walked away she took out her phone from her pocket and started dialing a number. “Idia! you will never guess who I just had tea with”
