Neverland, the 10,000 square foot Tudor mansion among a backdrop of oak trees and rolling hills, was first discovered by Michael Jackson while filming "Say Say Say" with Paul McCartney. 4 years later, he bought the property and kept most of the furniture, but replacing the grand piano with a huge toy castle imported from Germany. He employed more than 120 staff. There were huge commissioned paintings of himself all throughout the house, some portraying him as Peter Pan, some as the Pied Piper, and some paintings even included Macauley Culkin. He also owned a police motorcycle, a Pinocchio doll under glass, the Oscar from the film Gone with the Wind, the hands from Edward Scissorhands, and a throne-like chair. Jackson owned mannequins all throughout the house, most of them of children, including the gateway to his master bedroom, which were of two child mannequins, one in a boy scout uniform, interlocking fingers. The door of his master bedroom had six locks and a peephole, and there was a camera above the door.

The stairs leading up to the master suite were lined with rows of dolls. Upstairs was a guest room for visiting children. The bathtub led directly into a walk-in closet. And back in the far end of the walk-in closet, behind the clothes, was the infamous secret room. The previous owner used to have it as a panic room, and it is where the prosecution alleged one of his crimes took place. He built a 50 seat theater with a built in snack bar, the only building on the property that Jackson had a personal hand in designing.

Jackson died of a combination of prescription drugs along with a milky anesthetic called propofol, as he had a high tolerance and couldn't sleep that night. He had been having trouble sleeping all that week, and had to perform the next day. His makeup artist, Karen Faye, says she believes his drug abuse began in the 90s, at least as far as she knew. He would use painkillers to perform, she said.

He was basically forced to tour, because he was in massive debt near the end of his life, due in part to an extravagant shopping spree habit, as well as an addiction to plastic surgery. There was also the paying out to victims. All of this combined left him scrambling to repay people he owed. Having a high tolerance, he would doctor shop, asking for different doctors to prescribe the same drugs. After awhile, it was said to have caught up to him. He was nearly half a billion dollars in debt when he died. One former advisor claimed Jackson spent $8 million a year, on plane charters, antiques, paintings and other personal expenses, spending more than he was bringing in.

"It's as though you have - you know - you take out a credit card and borrow the max on that credit card to pay another credit card," the advisor said. "He just did it on a massive scale."

His assets also carried heavy mortgages, including the Beatles catalog and his own music rights. He owed upwards of $450 million, with creditors at the door. Staff were even left unpaid, and Neverland was threatening to go in foreclosure. The result was the This Is It tour set to happen right before his death, and possibly net him more than a billion dollars, but Jackson was already spending his cash advance. He was a great businessman, but also a spendthrift.

I just found some biopic updates on Instagram and they are getting ready to start filming at Neverland.

It’s almost haunting.

I can’t put my finger on what I’m feeling right now. Seeing Neverland has me a little teary-eyed. I’m just beyond words.

OH MY FUCKING GOD

I THINK I CRACKED THE CODE ON THE PREMIUM FARMS NAMES IN THE PROMISED NEVERLAND

Okay so something we all know is that the name of every Premium Farm starts with the letter G, and so far I have seen no explanations as to why. So I decided to do some research on the author (Kaiu Shirai) and his interviews in hopes of finding something, to no avail.

Or so I thought.

See, I found something important (in my opinion) that I easily brushed over. Shirai is a Christian. I at first just thought this was some interesting trivia or something but then I took a moment to think about it, and I quickly made the connection between his religion and Emma’s orphanage starting with the word grace (Grace Field) - an extremely important concept in the Christian religion.

So, I quickly decided to look up the significance of the letter G in the bible and found this:

Also, gamol represents the caring of a creature until it is mature (which was taken from the sentence in Genesis 21:8:

Knowing that the purpose of the Premium Farms is to nurture the children as best as possible until their shipment age, and that Shirai is a Christian, there’s absolutely no way this is a coincidence.

To be fair, it could likely also be a reference to God or Genesis, but the more common way to refer to gods in Japanese would be 神 or 神様 (kami or kamisama). Though, the Christian god can be commonly referred to as ゴッド (Goddo) so the point still still stands. I doubt it is a reference to Genesis though since TPN and the Book of Genesis don’t really have much to do with each other and it’s also called 創世記 (souseiki) which doesn’t even start with a G.

Anyways I just found this really interesting and I needed to share with everyone!
