Theo James made an excellent point which may get lost because of a wild ride that the show offers. He explained that his character, Edward, gets corrupted by power and violence.

This dark theme is neatly deepened throughout the show and very well resolved at the end. Think about Eddie’s transition from a captain striving to avoid unnecessary border conflicts to a drug lord always having his way. It takes a really unsettling turn. Explored before, famously in the Godfather, the Gentlemen’s new reimagine serves justice to this trope.

The point of the story is that they are not gentlemen. It is just a cover they exploit to justify their horrible deeds.

I just binged the 4th season of the umbrella academy and honestly

Im glad we finally connected all the dots but five...

They did five SO dirty i cannot say this enough

Through the whole relationship thingy i was like "CMON GIRL YOUVE GOT 3 WHOLE KIDS"

And why was klaus the only one who actually made some sense in their words

Yeah sure the "all the marigold needs to be destroyed" thing kinda made sense in my head

But overall the season just felt so all over the place. Im still content with the ending tho

The Umbrella Academy really said: "How do we make 'House of the Rising Sun' an even more heart-breaking song? Ah, yes--play it over a montage of Harlan's childhood as he never learns how to control his powers, making him and his mom, Sissy, constantly move until Sissy dies of cancer and he has a meltdown in the hospital. And then, play it again - this time, a cover by actor Jeremy Renner - when we learn that Harlan's meltdown ended up killing the would-be mothers of the Umbrella students!"
