Ok, so in the wake of certain games going through shitty nerfs thanks to sweat lords, I have to ask the following:

When are we as a consumer base going to realize we need to do everything in our power to shut these fuckheads up? They are among the Three Great Evils ruining games alongside Incompetent and Out of Touch Devs and Greedy Corporations. Why are we not singling them out for their part in ruining games?

I’ve been watching the downfall of helldivers 2 and it’s truly saddening. I expected to play this game for a decade at least but it just couldn’t be.

We should have seen it coming with the first Arch thrower nerf tbh. Arrowhead took accidental genius and pruned it like a rose growing un planted in a garden simply because its beauty was not created intentionally. The arch thrower was the first real harbinger.

Since then it’s just been a snuffing of joys sparks, taking any unintended or intended mechanic that added a sense of depth to the game and whipping it away, the eruptor shrapnel, the railguns armor piercing, the flamethrowers utility.

We used to fight for every little planet. Now when super earth falls, nobody will care.

i feel like an often overlooked downside to 10-episode seasons and the death of the "monster of the week" format is that we get way less whump variety nowadays. used to be that there'd be dozens of opportunities for your fave to get punched or kidnapped or hypnotized or what have you. these days if it doesn't fit into the main plot, it just doesn't happen. this is a tragedy. we should be protesting.

Valorant v25 (Patch 10.06) Changes

Agent Updates KAY/O (Buff)

FLASH/DRIVE (Q) will now have a 0.8 second windup and then pop with unique audio and visuals when triggered, showing the flash, as well as where it bounced off of. This new windup will not be triggered if it is already less than 0.8 seconds from popping, and therefore will not increase the time it takes for the flash to detonate. The unequip time of the flash has been reduced to 0.6 seconds (from 0.85).

Underhand (right-click) thrown FLASH/DRIVEs (Q) have had their duration increased to 1.5 seconds (from 1.25s).

The voice line callout range for KAY/O's FLASH/DRIVE (Q) flashing voice line can be heard by team mates from 50 metres away (from 20m), and a minimap indicator has been added to the flash for team mates.

NULL/cmd (X/Ultimate) now takes 1.5 seconds to be resurrected during his ultimate (from 3s).

Yoru (Nerf)

The credit cost of Fakeout (C) has been increased to 200 (from 100).

Vyse (Nerf)

The duration of Vyse's Razorvine (C) has been decreased to 7 seconds (from 10s).

The duraton of Vyse's Shear (Q) wall has been decreased to 6 seconds (from 8s).

QoL Changes, Bug Fixes & General Updates

When playing on Sunset, players should see an increase in performance through technical adjustments made — this is through reducing the number of map-specific objects that tick each frame, thus improving CPU performance.

Bug Fixes have been implemented for agents including Vyse, Raze, Clove, Deadlock, Breach, Sova, KAY/O, Gekko, Iso, and Tejo — for a full list of these bug fixes, check here.

When reporting players for cheating, players that have reported a user will see better reporter feedback when this leads to a ban.

Fonctionnalités multiples: Certains nerfs ont des fonctions mixtes, à la fois motrices et sensitives.

one more opinion about star trek fashion

it actually shouldn’t look like stuff you would wear (or at least a lot of it shouldn’t)

i’ve seen a lot of praise for modern trek fashion being better than classic trek because ‘people would actually wear that’

look at what people wore as everyday fashion 200-300 years ago, would you wear it? probably not, maybe for the novelty of it, but definitely not every day.

like, yeah this stuff looks crazy

it’s 300 years in the future. some of them are aliens, makes perfect sense to me that they would wear ridiculous extravagant clothes that look strange to my 21st century eye

similar to how if you showed modern fashion (especially alternative fashion/runway fashion) to someone dressed like this,

they would probably think we’re crazy.

yet for some reason modern trek wants us to believe that hundreds of years into the future people still just wear zip up hoodies?

tldr

clothing design in star trek should be just as important as clothing design in a period piece. i don’t think a screencap from any star trek should look like it could just as easily take place in the 21st century, i should see some crazy outfits. the clothes can do a lot of the heavy lifting to remind us that this is supposed to be far in the future.
