Long ago, the inhabitants of a kingdom deep within the far reaches of space are shocked when an orb of dazzling light comes upon them, bringing monstrous creatures with it. The inhabitants feared the creatures would surely kill them all, but the creatures themselves are just as confused and scared as to how they suddenly got there in the first place. The two twin rulers of the kingdom made a deal with the creatures that they would live in harmony together, the leader of the creatures known as “Bakugan” enlisted their own twin heirs to be allies of each ruler. The younger ruler eventually saw just how powerful the magical orb, dubbed the “Sacred Orb” was and became tempted by greed, wishing to use it for selfish gain. The older sibling respected the power of the orb as a life giver and refused to let the younger do anything nefarious with it. This led to a conflict that became so intense it split the planet in two. The younger sibling and their Bakugan ally were cast into the shadowy depths while the older sibling and their Bakugan ally remained guardians of the sacred orb, blessing them and their future generations with light and life. The light planet becomes Neathia. The dark planet would come to be called Gundalia.

Meet Prince Oliver!
-young gundalian prince aka Barodius' nephew. Oliver doesn't need to think much before putting his Time-stopper in action.
Goal: barely reached (with major consequences: Prince's Time-stopper will crash, and will not be able to save Alfred from the unexpected fate)
Type of villain (Oliver is antihero): Time manipulator , supporting antagonist 🔜 redeemed hero.
Take a look at his buddy, Alfie too!
Alfred is a even younger boy with personal desires. His goal is to follow Oliver's rules strictly and fight against his own home.
Goal: unfinished- unfortunately, Alfie will find his death the same way as his mistress, Kazarina.
Type of villain: loyal strategist/lab rat (for Kazarina's experiments)
-in this post you'll find their AU animals form too, just for fun! (And because im a cat artist ofc)
Well i hope you find their personalities funny, just as everyone i showed to had!
Have a peaceful day ⭐

It’s really funny how much Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a space opera. It just is about intergalactic political drama. Probably the coldest take this platform has ever heard about the series. This children’s early 2000s anime is actually about how everyone in the room wants to stab the Julius Caesar of the season ✨✨✨
That’s what the whole Kazarina and Gill thing was. It went crazzzyyy watching those two throw subordinates at each other the whole season. Then Gill, the guy who was seething the whole time, finally just stabs her when they’re alone in the heat of battle. INSANE. Then he dies because Barodius values her MORE!
The whole Nurzak situation was fun in its own right. The whole ‘the old regime was better’ shtick made Gundalia feel more real.
Ren’s entire deal, bro GUNDALIA’S entire deal. Ren being kept in captivity and raised as a soldier. Gundalians being raised to not trust others and be ruthless. Both Neathia and Gundalia are warrior cultures too.
Fiaba’s fiancé DIED in war and Aronaut faked amnesia for her sake so they wouldn’t talk about him anymore. Fiaba not bringing up Jin for the same reason but because of that…what kind of children’s TV show..
THE VEXOS WERE WILD. Lync switching sides three different times. Spectra and Gus doing the same. Hydron going ballistic and targeting the other Vexos just to feel and appear useful. Blaming each other for their losses. Whatever the heck Mylene and Shadow Prove were running around doing.
TIME TO TALK ABOUT GUS ATTEMPTING TO ASSASSINATE ZENOHELD! Imagine being so whipped for a scene kid that you attempt to murder the head of your country….. Girl…
Also Hydron exploded himself and his father….WHO LEADS VESTAL RN? I gotta get on Mechtanium Surge.
Anyway watching Dan and Co. semi- casually wandering into two alien societies and changing the tide of their political climate never ceases to amuse me.

A post about my theory THAT DESTROYS the "plot hole" (the one about the fact that bakugans live on Earth in later seasons). (actually, this theory is not very well developed. As people in Russia say, I "put an owl on the globe")
What is the problem? At the end of the first season, the bakugans explicitly say that they cannot stay on Earth. They are part of Vestroia, and staying on Earth will cause the universes to completely merge, self-destructing in the process. However, in the next seasons, bakugans live on Earth without any problems. Moreover, although in the first season we were always shown that in the normal state of the universe, bakugans on Earth can only exist in the form of spheres - starting from the second season, this is also no longer true. Why does it work like this?
First, let's have a history lesson. As you know, God exists in this anime. And God is Code Eve (then translator and I will get confused with pronouns, accept it. I think God won't be offended). It was Code Eve that created the first two bakugans, and they created Neathia-Gundalia and Vestroia. These universes are home to bakugans, where they exist in their true form without restrictions. But, what is important for us, the Earth does not belong to these universes. Did "our" universe appear by itself or was it created by someone? We don't know. But it is not part of the "family". Let's visualize it.
As you can see from this image, I claim that in the reality of this anime, there are not one, but Two multiverses. The first is "ours", there exists a universe in which Earth is located. The second is a multiverse created by Code Eve, where bakugans live. The multiverses does not intersect. And then the first season happened.
You all watched the first season and you know what happened. Nevertheless, I suppose you think that the universes completely separated in the finale. I have a different opinion. I believe that such a global event as the partial merger of two universes does not go without consequences. I believe that something like this happened:
I must say right away - this is absolutely unscientific, but who cares about it here. And so. I believe that during the separation of the universes, Vestroia essentially "pulled" the Earth with in. And, for this reason, the Earth became part of the "baku-multiverse". So from now on, the same laws apply to the Earth as to the rest of the Universes in this "family".
Why did this happen? The most logical reason seems to me to be Drago's influence. In the final, he gained the power of a Perfect Core, which probably gives him some control over the laws of the universe. I doubt Drago did it intentionally. Most likely, it was just a subconscious desire associated with the sadness of saying goodbye. I also like the option of romantic sympathy between universes, but you probably won't take it seriously.
Another question is, why did the bakugans go home anyway at the end of the first season if there was no need? The simple answer is that they simply did not know that the scenario I had come up with was even possible. So they made the most logical conclusion, and only then in the second season they began to contact the Earth again. A more complicated answer is that it most likely took time to completely move "our" universe. So, until the process was completed, they had to be patient for the sake of safety. But I think both answers are correct. Or something like that.
To sum up, none of this really makes sense. Most likely, somewhere in the anime there were facts refuting this theory. So I prefer to ignore these facts for the sake of peace of mind. I really like this idea that the Earth is now part of a common "family" created by Code Eve, and that's why bakugans live on "our" planet with humans. That sounds very nice.
Thanks for attention. We'll see each other again one day.
#bakugan#bakugan theory#It would be more correct to say#bakugan hc#I'm sorry if the names are misspelled in some places#the dubbing differences are annoying#If you find evidence that the theory is incorrect#complain to my friend. Because firstly#he said that there was no such evidence#and secondly#he wouldn't be offended anyway

I still don't understand why they had to switch Marucho and Shun's partners again in MS arc 2, like fucking hell guys. It hasn't even been a season yet 😭
Especially confused on Shun cuz like...Jaakor is just...a more jacked Taylean??? You could have just had him evolve or something. He could easily pass as an evolution. Big green robot ninja with knuckle canons. Cmon...
Also makes very little sense as to why their previous partners would even leave.
Ingram and Elfin were somewhat temporary partners so they could save the main 6, Hawktor and Aquomos were also temporary partners and were native to Neathia, but....Taylean and Tristar? They CHOSE to be partners, because they WANTED to. Not because they had some world ending threat they needed help. They just clicked with Shun and Marucho and took part in friendly tournaments, tournaments that CONTINUED after the events of arc 1.

So, yesterday I posted some lore on The Unity AU, I think it's time I finally talk in detail about Mirage. She's been mentioned recently.
Here she is (alongside Unity Wilda)
Now, for some information.
CW: Mentions of death
As stated, bakugans are classes as monsters. There's also no Vestroia, so bakugans in the Unity AU live on all 4 planets/universes. [Earth, Vestal, Neathia and Gundalia].
For a long while, Vestals and Bakugans lived in harmony, until the royal family decided that must take an end, so they started to strain the relation between them. Bakugans were chased out of the cities, sometimes even hunted. Their once friends turning on them set a fear on the bakugans on Vestal that set in for generations (so in short, vestal Bakugans are more on the cowardly side due to that).
With the Vestal overpopulation, the royal family decided that it's time to expand, which means that they'll have to invade the homes of bakugans and take over.
Bakugans are captured, experimented on, used in fights, or even killed. The current generations of Vestals are lead to believe that bakugans are mindless beings that are ready to fight and kill Vestals, so that's why all the experiments and organized bakugan fights are happening.
For some info on the Fermins in this AU. Clay, as usual, is the royal scientist, always trying to please King Zenoheld IV. He has two kids. Keith, a bakugan battler champion that goes under the stage name of Spectra Phantom. The second, younger kid being Mirabelle ("Bell" for short), she's Clay's lab assistant.
Bell would help Clay in his sick experiments... until one day, where she would encounter a bakugan who seemed, scared- she tried to approach him, but Clay would intervene and the bakugan would leave. Bell however, would try to re encounter said bakugan. Over time, the two would become friends. Most importantly, Bell would learn the truth behind bakugans. She would also learn more about how Vestals are meant to function, how they're more on the "magic" side. She would eventually try to perform magic on her own, which would lead to her 'core' getting 'encored'. With all that happening, she would try to talk to her father and brother about this, but they would not listen to her or stop the experiments or fights... so, she decides that it's time to take matters into her own hands, but she can't do this as well, "Bell". She's tied to the royal scientist and the brawler champion... so her and Wilda form a plan.
She would eventually tell her brother and father to meet her at a certain spot, only her brother would come. She would try to ask him one more time to stop with the fights and all that, but of course, he'd refuse. She would use an ability to make the ground beneath her to just, give up. Wilda, being bellow, would catch her, but Keith would believe the worst just happened... he's shocked to see what just happened- he just watched his sister fall down to what he assumed her own death. The authorities couldn't find her down bellow.
Meanwhile, "Bell" realizes that she's going to need a new identity. Almost everyone just called her "Bell" for short, but when she told Wilda her full name for the first time, he called her "Mira", which she started to grow to liking... but it couldn't be short for "Mirabelle", so, in a quick moment... she got it. She'll be going by Mirage.
Girl would dye her hair, also trying to stylize it differently, get some different attire, and will wear a vizor to help her hide her identity better.
Her, alongside Wilda, will try to stop the Royal family's attempts to hurt the bakugans further. Try to stop them from chasing bakugans way from their homes, try to break into bakugan 'research' facilities and freeing the bakugans in there, all that stuff. She'll end up teaming up with 2 vestals and 2 bakugans later down the line. Not only that, but once one of her team mates tries to contact help from some other place, a bunch of humans and their bakugan friends would come in to help them.
... HOO BOOOY- whole backstory be upon ye- but yeah-
Ngl I do have a lot of fun with Mirage over here- basically in this AU Clay has both kids dye their hair and get a new identity.
Now for some silly fun facts (about her and others):
Mirage is a bit on the "unhinged" side. From a chill/polite lil kid to pretty much a warrior trying to help the bakugans in her world.
Of course, since she's like this, Unity Baron and Unity Ace had to be a bit tweaked to balance her out.
Unity Baron is 24, he's a bit more on the serious side.
Unity Ace is 18, he's a bit more chill and open to new people. Unlike his canon counterpart he's okay with the humans when they come (he's the one who send the help message on the Bakugan forums)
Mirage is also 18.
In a way, the script is flipped since Unity Spectra's the one to worry about his sister, leading him to make some bad moves/decisions during the story.
Unity Bakugans don't have a marble form, but I'd imagine if they'd travel to any other bakugan universe that works like the canon one, they'd get turned into marbles.
They'd also be way more huge than they are in the unity AU.
Unity Wilda is more or less Mirage's adoptive dad.
Unity Volt and Unity Lync would defect from the Vexos. Mirage would have a hard time accepting that they're part of the resistance and complains about their role in the whole Vexos/Royal family plans, until Unity Baron tries to remind her that she herself was tangled in said plans... needless to say she isn't that pleased to get reminded of that, so she tries to accept the two.
Also, did I mention that Baron HEAVILY dislikes the royal scientist and his kids? Though granted once he learns Mirage's true identity he gives her a chance since he sees that she really wants to do better.
Zenoheld won't really be part of the story, as he's... about to get veeery sick during the story, making Hydron in charge of the operation and the Vexos.
The truth is, Hydron goes behind his father's back and taps into magic. He's also gonna use it to drain energy from him until he gets sick enough so he won't be able to properly rule anymore.
I was originally suggested that Mirage's original name should had been "Petra", which I liked but ngl, Spectra- I recently stumbled upon the name "Mirabelle" and decided I could go for that, and then went with the "Bell" nickname for her past life before she renames herself to "Mirage".
Also, her and Mire are (at the moment) the only AU characters that have slight name changes.
As usual, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

One of the main things I changed in my Bakugan dr is how the team members from past season never really come back to play large roles until S4. There's no actual way the Vestials would ignore the situation on Nethia if the Brawlers reached out and asked for help, so why wouldn't they? At least Keith and Gus would come to battle alongside them, if not the rest.
It makes sense from a writing standpoint and how the writers only want one for each attribute of Bakugan, but in actuality, they needed all the help they could get. I don't see someone like Mira ignoring Bakugan or people that need help. So in my dr, I'll be making sure we reach out to them at least once before leaving for Neathia.
There's bound to be at least one of them willing to help and that will make a huge difference. And the girls? The writers really side lined Julie when she would've been a better asset to the team than Jake. She'd wipe the floor with him in a battle. This is Jake slander. He is pretty useless

sid did kinda save neathia by bringing neo into that battle and forcing him to kill himself.. I mean its awful sure but things could've been so much worse if neo was delivered to kazarina like they intended. instead the element is just safe with drago. sid gave neo that opportunity to pass the element to someone else and fulfill his duty even if sid didn't mean to and it was just him being stubborn and stupid
don't think it makes linus feel any better though haha

WIP sketch of twin dharak, I’ve given the nickname Nova Dharak (or just Nova). Coloring her is going to be daunting but I need to dump my bc about her rn
Headcanon dump time!!
She’s Dharak’s twin who originally vowed to protect Gundalia alongside her brother. After Dharak and Barodius conspired to usurp the throne they sealed her away knowing she, like Barodius’ father, would oppose trying to obtain the sacred orb. She is considered a “fossil bakugan”, never able to awaken again. Barodius works to erase her from the public’s memory and from the history books. Nurzak secretly hid her away, believing that one day maybe she would be able to reawaken and help Gundalia. The sacred orb revives her in the events of Gundalian Invaders, but her brother has become far too strong while she has been in a weakened state. She goes with Nurzak and Mason to plead with Serena and the brawlers to help save her people.

Omg can you write on Barodius X Kazarina plss there are not any fics on them
Just like the Aristocrats
Ship: Barodius x Kazarina
Prom: Is not an easy task to get married when you are making it by labor, but some labor are appreciable.
The royal house of Gundalia, the monarch and there diferent noble houses, that things where not really interesting for Barodius, on his young age, must of his time was based in studying, taking his fighting leasons and sleeping.
Yeah, the labor of a crown prince where always the same, but Barodius was diferent, he wanted to achive a new perspective, not only been king of Gundalia was enough but he needed to be the best in anything and everything.
And so it was fit to have some as initiative as him, love was underated to this point, what really matter so far was to be the best king, the one that defeats Neathia and claim the code eve as his, of course to that point first he needed to take his first steps into been the best of Gundalia, then he would be the best of the universe.
One day, some particular interesting day of casual light, the sky was open, no clouds where seen in the distant but he could observe the near moons shining high, he has a good feeling about this day, the past week, his Fathar was searching for a woman to be his companion reigning over Gundalia, but the other days where a mess, mustly because he didn't like does weak girls that just look like dolls, not of them look like a good complement for his plan, overall his father pressure him to choose quickly and get over with the selection but his father was an old man that wanted to rush things, Barodius was more inteligent, he could take his time.
He was walking down the aisle just to see his fsther with one of his cientist talking about some plans usually he would wait for his father to finish his casual conversation but he noted that also another person was present in the room, by the side of the door there was a girl, diferent from the other girls he had seen, her blue skin and Yellow hair speaked of elegance but he couldn't stop to imagine how that remind her of does aquatic snakes that there skins was the prettier but they where the most Posionous.
—Stop, seeing me, I will pull your eyes out with my own claws if you don't stop the staring—
Barodius was taked at back, never in all his years that someone have the guts to talk to him, even more to tread him.
—Oh?, The guts of this woman to treat at the crown prince— He could almost laugh at her guts but she didn't flinch, he didn't know her, but he was sure she was not from a royal house.
—I, Kazarina do not follow the rules of the royalty, My way should be the extend of knowledge this world has to offerd but you, some rich kid wouldn't understand him— Yes today was a good day, not only that he woke up in good humor but also he found that flame that he was searching for.
—Kazarina uh?, You fell superior that any other one?—
—I don't feel superior, I am superior, I will be the best ciencist in all Gundalia, the Universe, one day you will see— Barodius could see her, her determination was shining brighter that the stars in the sky and he choose her, so he extended his hand up to her.
—I can see that, I like your will, Would you be my wife al let me be the first to see you shine?— everything when silence until they hear a big gasp, Kazarina was looking at him like he was some crazy lunatic on this point, the gasp where from the pure cientist that was part of the court of his father, his fsther on the other hand just look amuse by this exchange.
—You are out of your mind, weirdo— Kazarina reget his hand with the back of her hand, and starting to walk up the door.
—Kazarina w-wait!— the cientist went running for her as Barodius started walking again to his Father.
—Guess you have choose—
—Indeed father, I have choose—

Intro to My Bakugan DR
Name: Taylor "Tay"/ "Ve" Kuso
Birth Name: Vex'ahlia
Pronouns: she/her, they/them
Languages Spoken: English
Backstory:
I was born after a marriage between Barodius and a Neathian Noblewoman in an attempt to keep the peace between the two worlds. I grew up an only child on Gundalia, under my father’s rule. I was introduced to Kiba when he, Linehalt, and Ren were brought out of the Darkness to help my father with the War.
Ren spent most of his time learning and catching up to his peers, preparing to join on my mission when it became necessary. While he studied, Kiba and I were sent to Earth to infiltrate the newly forming Bakugan Brawling society.
When I was sent to Earth, Kazarina induced amnesia that Ren would undo when he joined the Brawlers.
Bakugan: Darkus Kibanite or "Kiba"
He was initially based off Darkus versions of Dragonoid. He is also a Dark Bakugan like Linehalt
How he can pass through the Neathian Shields:
Kiba can pass through the Shields protecting Neathia from Gundalians due to the Evolutions he was granted by the Six Legendary Warriors of Vestroia. Since he was not from Vestroia originally, these Evolutions altered his DNA and he can pass through the Shields like the rest of the Battle Brawlers.
Exedra’s illusion in the Doom Dimension was a version of my human self, mocking me for my memory loss and how the Kusos will abandon me just as my birth family did. During the battle, I make peace with the fact I am adopted and don’t remember my past.
This comes up when the Brawlers are preparing to leave Earth for Neathia. Fabia and I discuss it privately to protect the secret behind the Shields and I tell her about the Doom Dimension and the first Evolution caused by Vestrian Bakugan while there. It was only a theory, but one that is confirmed when Kiba can go through the Shields.
Some fits from my dr:
Extra Info:
I have amnesia when I first arrived on Earth and will not remember my past for at least the first few days in my dr
I own my apartment and do not rent
Everyone is aged up
Spotify Premium is just how Spotify works for free
I can change between my two forms with the same ease as other Gundalians and Neathians when I have my memories back.
I have the same electrical abilities as other Gundalians and understand how to use them
I understand the rules of a Bakugan battle and can successfully strategize a win against most strong opponents.
I scripted out Jake. I am his biggest hater
The girls don't leave the team after one season and will still actively participate in battles. Meaning we aren't short a Subterra brawler even if Jake isn't there 😘

Headcanon: The Gundalian culture is based on individualism, the Neathian culture is based on collectivism
Race interpretation part one: Neathia
Summary: The Neathian culture is built on the core values of communities and collective thinking. While conformity within the society is of a high level, they pursue a 'closed gate' diplomacy towards other races - resulting in a 'bubble' phenomenon and becoming vulnerable to losing their sense of belonging. Centralised urban system, with regional reciprocity and redistribution, whereby the Queen plays a coordinator role, and exists as a unifying symbol along with the military.
(Wall-of-text warning ; with block-breaker illustrations, but a huge amount of information ahead.)
Okay, this topic is something I was thinking about for a long time, and I finally hit the point to collect my thoughts and write them down. I've seen a lot of people trying to build up/further and enrich the cultural and social-political features of the alien races we've seen in the series (namely Vestals, Neathians and Gundalians), and I felt some inspiration to put my take on these things into words.
It's not only intriguing to try one's hand on the world-further-building, but I felt, I have to explain how I imagine the build-up of the Neathian and Gundalian culture and society to make the story of the 'Neathian Special Squad' ('NSS') more understandable 'symbolically' and from the aspect of a 'cultural clash'. /For those, who follow the NSS: This is something that definitely happens later on, you just don't know about it yet./
I have to put a small disclaimer here: This entire piece of writing was conspired out of fun and passion towards the series. It was not meant to be a 100% professor approved scientific research, but a seemingly logical untangling of my personal train of thoughts concerning the fantasy creatures of the third season. And this means, there is going to be some personal opinion mixed in as well (especially at the rewriting parts).
I wish the readers to enjoy reading it regardless. You are always free to disagree or not to take it seriously. :) To me, headcanonizing and imagining things always meant to be fun.
Side note: I'll add canon elements as examples or refer to the events of Gundalian Invaders, although I have to admit, I'll do this mostly from memory. So If I get anything wrong, or just remember incorrectly, you are welcome to add-in or correct me! :)
Season: Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders (and Mechtanium Surge)
Language: English dub
Okay, let's go!
Gundalian Invaders - Slightly rewritten
The first and foremost reason I actually started writing this post, is because I had some issues with the characterisation of the Gundalians and Neathians in the third season. One side is depicted blatantly, purposelessly and one-dimensionally evil, while the other is portrayed to be the goodie-two-shoes victims with no backlashes. I wanted to swing over this simplicity and make an attempt at explaining, how I imagined these races to function. These interpretations were explored with the intention of both keeping the main features of the races, staying canon-compliant where possible, but change canon elements/propose ideas to turn the races into interesting (and on a theoretical level functioning) societies.
For these added or assumed ideas to work, some lore elements have to be changed or removed: For example the way Bakugan got to be on the planets. For this explanation see: a further point below.
This post discusses only Neathia for now. (Gundalia will probably get it's own post, as there is much more canon-divergence to be talked about.)
Neathians
1. The beginnings and core values
Due to the power of the Sacred Orb, almost the entire planet have relished in a lush fertility since the beginnings. (And this is why there are huge plants in their jungles. The wildlife also experienced a great upsurge by the life-force of the Orb.) This prosperity quickly enabled the Neathian race to organize into a peaceful and sharing society, because the wars over resources became redundant and unnecessary. The established racial mindset reallocated the focus from the individual needs to the communal efforts, and gives a ground for the Neathian values and collective thinking up to even the days of the season.
Neathians think mainly in groups: Let those be pairs (e.g. Fabia and Jin as fiancés; Linus and Neo Zipperator as brawling partners), teams (Neathian Special Squad; Friendship circles), communities (Castle Knights), and the biggest of them all, their entire race. These are all bigger or smaller communities within communities, and they play a major role in how Neathians perceive the world and themselves. Being in these relationship structures defines their place, grants them their basic mental frame, which they are able to think in, and not only their resources, but also their goals are shared with each other. This kind of goal assimilation is what makes them really efficient team players, and also provides them a strong social support from a mentalhygiene perspective. This important role of the sense of belonging makes Neathians both empowered while being in close social constructs , and extremely susceptible to losing these connections.
Thinking like this, when Fabia lost her fiancè or Linus lost Neo, their grief extended further than their deaths or the traumatic events. Losing strong bonds like these put Neathians in a technical identity crisis, as it is a part of their personal perception and mental frame which were dismantled through these events. We have seen Fabia going to extremes to retrieve Aranaut - and to retrieve that part of her, which was lost with Jin. Just as when Rubanoid was handed to Linus, a new connection was formed to either replace or continue the old one in a different form. Fabia's communal bonds were successfully restored, when she also became a member of the brawlers.
The Neathian society is based on caring and cooperation to achieve a collective well-being. This is why communities play such a major role in their self-perception and world-perception.
2. Open-sources, but enclosed diplomacy
For most part, I've always imagined the Neathian race as an although proud and generous, but closed society. They share commodities with each other - within their society -, but it is very important, that only within it. The outside world (meaning outside of their habited planet) is fundamentally shut out of these transactions.
I often refer to this phenomenon of enclosedeness as the 'Neathian bubble':
Not only their mindset operates in closed communities, but their diplomacy too. They are generally passive towards other races, missing trust and a reason to pick up the communication /Up until the Gundalians came and the war started/. This perspective could be applied to understand, why could they be more insistent on and better at operating defensive mechanisms (layered shield generator), than initiating communication with the rest of the universe (Unlike Gundalians, Neathians have no ships or bigger means of transportation. Yes, teleportation is accessible for them, but I don't think they use it that often outside of Neathia.)
I treat this as an explanation for why Neathia had only asked for outside help after the second shield generator went down - the situation became desperate and already being involved in the conflict, it was time to try and reach out for aid. According to these headcanons, I also think, Serena wasn't putting - or at least shouldn't have put - faith in the Brawlers so easily. The reason they weren't tested to prove their trustworthiness further than one question, is because she trusted Fabia's judgement. Without the support of a Neathian, outlanders are almost automatically dismissed. Their (or their Queen's) empathy and compassion may overwrite this code, but even by then they have to be made certain by proving the cause.
Just as when Fabia accepted Ren, because she had seen how much he tried to prove himself. Winning Neathians’ trust is supposed to be a big and determining moment, because they ‘internalise’ you into their scoiety.
Neathians are capable of empathy and kindness (this is something they actively practice among each other), even towards outsiders, they just need time and proof to accept them. Trust is just not automatic towards them, and even so they keep their distance until they get used to it.
3. Personal paralel counterparts - Night elves and the Highborne of WoW
When I think about Neathians, I often put them into paralel with the Night elves and the Highborne from World of Warcraft. For most part, I use their artistic motives, architecture, fashion and cultural approach as an inspiration for Neathians, as they are recognised as 'The pretty space elves' in my book too.
Beside the above mentioned, what could be imported from their WoW counterparts is a rather matriarchal social apparat. For example, Neathians traditionally having a Queen, and women being present in the military or in higher positions, playing important roles. //Just as by the Night elves leadership, religious and military roles being traditionally occupied by women (priestesses, wardens, sentinels).//
Another elven impression, which is more or less universal, is their sense of pride (I like to say it as the expression of 'Neathian pride '). Highborne in World of Warcraft are a quite prestigious race and are usually said to be a little 'aristocratic'. I can imagine the Neathians being lightly less, but somewhat similar on these terms, when it comes down to interacting with their own or other races: For example being proud of their appearance (Emphasizing their unique V-shaped forehead with adequate clothing and accessories), structuring buildings and constructs based on aesthetic instead of real functionality (using diamond as the main material of construction, structuring buildings with elegant but futuristic shapes), or being confident and showing immovable standing and opinion on things (towards outsiders).
As far as I know, the Warcraft elves used to be similarly passive and uninitiative - even mistrusting - towards other races too. And in this, it played part, that they also had exclusive access to a powerful source of power and prosperity, the Well of Eternity (an almost one-on-one counterpart to the Sacred Orb).
While the half-tribal connections of the Night elves derive from their ancient bonds with nature and druidism, the Neathian society feels more likely being based on a futuristic envisionment of these social relations. A civilisation that perfectly blends technology (teleportation technology, communication devices) with classic fantasy elements (knights), while still remaining tribal in the core (shared communality is just put into a modern environment). /Although I like to lean more into the fantasy setting, the technical advancement is undeniable there./
4. Overall economy
If we wanted to negotiate about their economy, I would say reciprocity and localised redistribution are the dominant mechanisms of it. The basic definition of economy builds on the premise of distribution of scarce resources. In this case, resources are not scarce, in fact, due to the Orb they are very much prosperous and renewing. This accessibility discounts the value of the traditional market trading, and supports the establishment of semi-centralised recollection and redistribution. The semi-centralisation here means regional production and consumption, whereby the accomodation of the population happens mainly territorialy, but these regional centres still have a connection to each other and the capitol. This economy is based on caring and well-being, and the high level of conformity and trust within the collective society results in a lack of currency usage (so, my headcanon is basically, that they don't use money).
5. Urbanisation and territorial layout
The reason we talk about a more physical apsect of the planets, is because the core values of the races both play a role, and mutually affect how I imagine their civilised hubs being developed. Communities form hubs and cities with strong connections - just like their society!
When I mentioned localised redistribution, I was also refering to the urban structure of the Neathian planet. Important to note, that Neathia is not just a city, or a country - just like Gundalia, it's the entire planet. What we've seen in the show is the capital of their urban system - which makes sense to be technically built around / in the immediate enclosure of the Sacred Orb, for it's the source of the relishing power. Assuming this, along the capital there could be a centralised territorial layout with rural areas (cities, villages), and untouched wilderness (due to the overflourishing flora and fauna; the urbanisation doesn't affect the entirety of the planet, there are a lot of uninhabited/uncharted areas).
Here is a simple schematic illustration of the above.
The rural hubs not having physical connection with other centres due to the dangerous and untamable wilderness (see: Giant plants in the show) could have lead to the advancement of the teleportation technology. The cities are connected through this port-system, and also with the capital, which serves as the centre of the network.
6. The role of the queen and the military
The main purpose of the current Queen is an overall governance with the direct help of a council consisting of the local leaders of the hubs. The queen bears not only a political, but a symbolical importance to the people. The concept of the Queen is a unifying symbol, someone who watches over the nation. The Neathians can stand behind her and being represented by her. But it's important to note, that her status is not as glorified as to be a despotic being, and her power is not extending much further than overall policies, diplomatic representation and helping the transactions of the local leaderships. There is much more power and independence shifted into the regional governance, rendering the Queen's position to be an effective coordinator between them and unifier, who keeps the nation together. /Still thinking about the way the queen is chosen/comes to the throne, but I had the idea of the next Queen being elected by the current Queen, so the order of succession is not based on the Queen’s family, nor being a community vote of the people./
The peace-oriented existence in itself doesn't require a military to exists, therefore I treat the Castle Knights as a mainly defensive organisation. This military serves as Neathia's defenders, bearing symbolic and community building purposes. Among the Castle Knights - just as the name itself suggests - the traditional medieval knight values show up primarily, such as loyality, humility, courage, faithfulness and the act of mercy. In their comprehension, being a Castle Knight is an act of service towards their country and the Queen, and is not mainly for warfare reasons. (To some extent, I assume martial arts and other forms of fighting - even brawling - is essentially a spiritual activity, which they pursue in order to keep their inner- and physical balance.)
As we've seen it the show, I assume the Palace also functions as the military's operation base. The head of the military is the current commander (formerly Jin, recently Elright), and under them operate several divisions with captains as division leaders. The separate divisions are Physical Fighting (both with weapon, like those defensive shock-sticks the guards are using - formerly offensive melee weapons until the fall of NSS - and hand-to-hand combat, e.g. used by Fabia), Technical staff (operating the shield generators and overseeing their areas) and Bakugan Brawling (this headcanon part is still under construction, but Elright used to be the former leader of this, and the reason he was promoted to commander after Jin’s death, is because the Neathians' realisation of the war swinging in favor of the Bakugan fights, so it was logical to put him as the next 'general leader'). /There may be other divisions outside of these, I just put out some ideas here./ Every guard receives education to some extent in all of these fields, but they end up specialising in something.
//The Neathian Special Squad (NSS) had it’s own divison under Captain Pyrehart, they were a special strike team with a unusual task: Staggering, forcing back or just divide the Gundalian leadership’s attention from focusing on their assault. Basically poking them with melee weapons until they either go away, or can’t concentrate on helping their Bakugan on the field and their monsters get defeated. According to the story - made up by me of course - after a tragedic mission this unit wasn’t restored, and the war effort shifted onto long-range fighting with Bakugan, Gear and Bakugan Assaults.//
7. So...where are the Bakugan?
They have been mentioned here and there, but I'm sure, whoever made it this far into this theorising information dump, may wonder at this point: 'But what about the Bakugan?'
My simplest answer is, that I firmly want to believe, both Gundalia and Neathia had a civilised and established culture before the Bakugan appeared there.
According to the original lore, Bakugan existed on the planets since almost the beginnings. Now, this is part of those lore bits I would definitively change during a rewrite: I want to believe, Bakugan only appeared in their very recent history, almost as recently, as on Earth and Vestal itself.
Perhaps a Bakugan lore- and GI rewrite explanation deserved it's own post, but for the further understanding allow me to explain here a little: A similar event of raining cards - what the first season started with - occured on Neathia and Gundalia too, caused by the dimensional boom of Michael Gehabich and his transporter. The twist on this - and the effective solution to the problem of possible timeline inconsistencies - is that although the explosion caused this interference at one point in time, across cosmos and universes time flows differently. So technicaly the result of it - the raining cards and Bakugan being transported into the particular worlds - could happen at different point of their relative times - even years earlier or later! On Neathia and Gundalia it could happened a few years before on Earth, which covers most of the questions of the timeline-consistency /such as Ren being assigned to watch over Linehalt as a child etc./
Bakugan coming to these places has only an added effect: Just as on Earth, they are not (yet?) integrated into the society and culture of the planets so deeply to be any kind of pillar of their existence or basic civilisation. There could be a start (as having specialised researches, technology revolving around Bakugan, taking part in the war,..) regarding this internalisation process, but it still runs on the surface, and not in the 'veins' of the culture.
I hope this breakdown made sense in some form or another. I just felt an urge to pour out the content of my head. Looking back, this became longer and more detailed, than I originally intended, while also surely missing things because there is no worldbuilding without holes or further questions. The attempt to lay down the basics was made regardless haha!
As always, feel free to disagree and follow your own visions concerning the races and worldbuilding. :) This post was made to reflect back my personal interpretation of Neathians - just for fun and thinking out loud.
For the very end, I leave a disclamer here, which was supposed to go at the beginning, but it felt redundant to put there, so here it is:
I tried to approach it from a more sociological side, as focusing on a bigger, overall picture, common features, than create exact statements. (I would rather call this a speculation regarding the features of the races themselves, their core values, common attitudes, mindset - and this doesn't mean other questions are fully out of the picture. We are just discussing things, which can be derived from the features of the society itself, and make up a more or less coherent chain of thought for now. Other 'for fun' or miscellaneous headcanons, like fashion or physical traits will be covered another time.)
Thank you for coming to this TED mambling!

ren tricked her only possible allies into thinking that she was an enemy and then he had jesse and the others pretend to be neathians to further perpetuate the harmful narrative that neathians were evil invaders and couldn't be trusted. every insult out of fabia's mouth holds truth. why is her justified anger painted as racism when her race is the one facing subjugation at the hands of an evil tyrant and his minions?
ren can take away fabia's only hope of saving neathia with no one caring but the minute fabia calls him out for being a liar (which he is) and conniving (which he is), then that's where we draw the line? that's bordering on racism??
Fucking hell bro the way she says it sounds like she's barely holding herself back from calling him several racial slurs 😭
