Ren and light, as you described, Marucho is Ren light, and you wrote three whole pages about it.

And with the help of understanding yourself , as Ren's search for himself and the understanding that he can only give freedom and light himself.That despite this, he still has everything ahead of him and he must answer for his sins before Neathia. That Ren himself understood all this.

And to say that he betrayed his homeland only for Marucho.Undermines Ren's arc on such level I can’t describe.

Not to mention that friendship with the brawlers faded into the background. And it was after a conversation with Dan that Ren decided to return to the side of the brawlers. And this was the last straw.

Friendship with the brawlers and what Gundalia does with his comrades, that all this is wrong and the desire for kindness is exactly what helped Ren. This is exactly the light.

I have nothing against MaruchxRen, although this is my not a ship, but to say that Ren back to brawlers only because of Marucho is too much.

MS1 and how it helped Marucho "grow up"

If we say that it was in this season that Marucho stopped idealizing Dan, then this is not entirely true. It all started in NV, and it was from this season that Marucho began to rely less on Dan. In Gundalia, Marucho played a much more leadership role than Dan. He was the one who led the attacks and troops on Neathia, and he helped figure out how to regain control of the interspace. This season, Dan played a mascot role much more often. MS1 is more of a generational change, since Dan is no longer needed, given that Marucho is already ready for his duties as the new leader of the brawlers. And the whole season has been leading us to this. Noah and the others, yes, began to rely less on their leaders and realized that you can’t put your hopes and expectations on your heroes, just as blind faith in them can be dangerous. This is about them, but not about Marucho. Like Interspace, there was stagnation because one group had been at the top for too long, despite the teams of Sellon and Anibuas. So the brawlers lacked fresh air.

So yeah, you're exaggerating a bit to prove your point.

When I first write to you, I just want to give my opinion, how it all came to this, I really don't know.

i'm pretty sure i've never said nor implied that marucho was the sole reason why ren betrayed his homeland. i've said that out of the whole group of brawlers, marucho means the most to ren because that's what the narrative has told us numerous times. i've provided screenshots of those moments in my maruren meta.

hell, i've even dedicated a post entirely to debunking a maruren ask claiming that ren only joined the brawlers because of marucho. i mention dan, nurzak, jesse, sid and barodius as some of the people responsible for ren's decision to turn on the gundalians and follow his heart. i don't mean to be rude but if you'd actually read my analyses, you would know this.

like i kept re-reading your ask, thinking, "surely they're not talking about me? because i never said this. i actually think the exact opposite. and provided canon documentation!"

at what point did marucho stop idealizing dan in nv and start relying on him less? because i specifically remember him being too anxious to sleep without dan nearby and fearing that he couldn't liberate new vestroia without him. he was so worried, in fact, that he got tricked by shadow which led to his immediate capture.

or maybe you're referring to episode 40, when he was more worried about finding dan than the more pressing matter of destroying the bt system. was that when he relied on dan less and started thinking for himself?

additionally, marucho taking on a leadership position in the battle to reclaim the second shield does not negate his idealization of dan. it just shows that he has the potential for leadership. marucho ended up being the decoy in a plan that set dan and shun up to be the star players and then celebrated and praised them both along with the rest of the team. you know, like he always does.

dan also didn't play "a mascot role" because he was front and center when it came to every major event this season. gundalian invaders actually marks the beginning of dan and drago taking on the seasonal villain by themselves instead of as part of a team.

and yes, while marucho's leadership qualities have slowly been emerging even before ms1, it's also this season that begins the process of shattering marucho's perception of dan as an infallible, heroic and dependable leader. ms1 is when marucho stops making excuses for dan's behavior and you can even see in ms2 that when dan and shun argue, marucho no longer plays the mediator but actually takes shun's side and tells dan to leave his property.

And I'm not talking about the headcanons that you tag , but about those posts that you publish as meta- or analysis, but in the notes (which, by the way, are absent) you write that some of them are based on canon and your ideas about canon. The thing is, you write as if you are talking about canon, but you do not mention that this entire post is about your interpretation of canon. Which has little to do with reality.

But you promote them as canon.

i'm not quite sure what you mean with "a lot about ren. a little about marucho" in regards to the ren/alice parallel posts. you'll have to elaborate more on that.

as for my analyses, they're naturally my interpretations of canon. i don't believe i have, at any point, said that my interpretations are canon and if i ever have, then that would be poor wording on my part. obviously i would have meant that my interpretations are merely supported by canon.

talking about canon alongside one's interpretation of canon is not contradictory. it's normal to talk about a canon event and then go on to analyze what that event means and i shouldn't have to clearly outline when i'm talking about the story and when i'm giving my own take on that story. that should be obvious to whoever's reading it.

if i say "it's canon!" about anything that's not canon then that's clearly fandom speak meant to be taken as a fandom joke rather than me stating with absolute seriousness that everything that comes out of my mouth was approved by spinmaster and sega. when someone says "canon is dead," you wouldn't actually believe that person is pretending to be the author of bakugan, would you?

again, i would really much rather you give specific examples from my posts instead of making vague general claims.

Didn’t you think sometimes you little exaggerate things in your post about characters like Ren , Marucho , and others. I read and everything is fine and you refer to the canon when you present your point of view and suddenly you start to conveniently interpret how and what happened in the canon in order to maintain how you see the situation there. By itself, the way we see the situation is impossible to do without prejudice. And it’s fine but sometimes you write like you one who is author of Bakugan.And it impossible that there other point of view how things happened.

tbh sometimes I think you’re more into the design than the core of their little guys, and then other times I think it’s just projecting things onto them until they’re unrecognizable. like until it’s basically an oc, not even headcannons anymore

ofc im not immune to bias and i tend to clearly state when my character interpretations move into headcanon territory.

that being said, all of this is pretty vague so if you could point me to instances where i project heavily onto characters until they're unrecognizable or where i say my interpretation of them is the only valid one, that'd be very helpful.

Why would Mira ditch her Bakugan wilda for one who doesn’t talk I find it odd

can you really call roxtor mira's bakugan when she only has him for around five episodes before he becomes marucho's bakugan. . .

like the whole "roxtor speaks gibberish" bit is because he's meant to be paired up with radizen as a comedic duo. roxtor says something the audience doesn't understand and radizen repeats it back to us, usually with some annoyance (sort of like with jesse and plitheon.)

iirc you hardly even see roxtor hanging around mira from s4ep27-30. like that's not her bakugan and the show knows this. if anything, i would've found it cuter if wilda was still here and roxtor was a little buddy of his who wanted to be part of the brawlers or something. at the very least, give an explanation for wilda's disappearance if you're not going to include him.

it's a plausible route because spectra does, in fact, use this strategy after he loses contact with gus and fails to recruit his father to come work for him. he needs drago's perfect core energy but plays it off as if he's helping to take down zenoheld for other reasons.

and he's previously tried to align himself with the brawlers by throwing all the blame on hydron so that they could help spectra get rid of him.

the brawlers were even receptive to a truce with spectra and the idea of welcoming him as an ally. if spectra had actually been smart and played the long game, he could've yoinked drago when their guards were down.

(we don't talk about how stupid they're all being for accepting him so easily.)

Why do you feel like spectra’s redeeming was poorly done I feel like since he saw the power of friendship beat Helios he understands how important friendship is to become stronger

it's just too out of left field. there's no buildup or natural progression of any kind for spectra to come to that conclusion. he did a lot of terrible things, genuinely believing that achieving great power justified his actions, and the (1) time he helped the brawlers it was motivated by the need to keep drago alive so he could go after his perfect core energy later.

(side note: i've seen ppl on reddit say that gus' disappearance played a part in spectra's face-heel turn which is just not true. the plot needed him to turn good and he did. did spectra miss gus? yeah. did he turn good for gus? no.)

the only kind of remorse we see from him is when he talks to mylene in episode 48, but again, there was no buildup for any of that, or even a moment of clarity where he realized that the source behind drago's power lied in the connections he had built and his strong need to protect others. so his whole spiel about how "he used to be just like mylene but friendship saved him" rings hollow.

if there was ever going to be such a realization, i think episodes 38-42 would've been a great time to have that happen. drago's speech to helios, which clearly outlines the differences in their core values, is one of my favorite moments in season 2.

helios seeks power to stand atop all of creation as the undisputed strongest and drago seeks power to protect others. it's clear by the outcome of their battle whose principles is stronger and that (along with klaus' whole speech about friendship and love being the greatest source of strength and later gus' assumed death) should've brought spectra down to a point where he realized the importance of connections and accepted an alliance with the brawlers after episode 42.

but instead spectra doubles down on his ultimate bakugan bs, fucks off, comes back two episodes later to have a pointless last battle with dan and drago and then inexplicably turns good. hooray.

Runo keeping her bakugan in a dollhouse is actually so cute ough

it is!! it's such a nice little detail and i love that they added it. reminds me of how she put tiny pink bows on tigress in their picture together.

Runo should've been the main character. Going back she's got the most interesting stuff going on for a Main Character. She would've enjoyed kicking Spectra's ass. Remove the dumb lineage stuff from Gundalian Invaders and make it actually about strength. Ignore MS that's Dan's own AU like planet Sheen.

definitely. i understand the whole thing about dan's progression from an insensitive hothead to a more considerate and level-headed leader-type character but runo starts out way more likable and her connection to both masquerade and alice stands stronger than dan's from a narrative and thematic perspective. just see how dan treated drago in the early episodes vs how runo treated tigress.

the difference is like night and day.

dan starts out only caring about the game and couldn't care less about drago's feelings but runo is way more considerate and wants revenge not for masquerade ruining the game but to avenge her bakugan who were lost to the death dimension. her motivation for wanting revenge is already a lot more noble than dan's. there's also a stark difference between dan forcing a nickname on drago who doesn't want to be called by that name and runo giving tigress a nickname and asking if he's okay with it.

runo's love for her bakugan is ever-present in the show and even becomes the reason for her brief retirement from the game and her quest to make masquerade pay. she fears losing her bakugan more than anything because they mean so much to her.

compare this to masquerade's callousness and the way he sends his bakugan to the death dimension with no hesitation. he has no loyalty toward them and views his bakugan as disposable.

runo not only holds a big grudge on masquerade (and fears him), but she also has the closest relationship with alice, which presents the ironic situation of runo being the closest with the person she wants to get away from the most. this is even something that could influence runo's trial, that her fear of losing her loved ones shouldn't keep her from fighting for what she wants to protect.

runo was also masquerade's first on screen victim (and possible his very first victim.) they are polar opposites in their general disposition and the way they treat their bakugan, not to mention their light and dark attribute relation that pyrus conveniently stole from haos. (if this doesn't symbolize how much alicedan wants what aliceruno has lol)

the only thing really keeping runo from taking over dan's spot is the fact that drago is undeniably the main protagonist of season 1. unless runo and dan swap bakugan, there's just no way to make it work and i like tigress with runo too much to let that happen lmao.

as for the situation with spectra, i'm so mad that spectra not only got away with capturing tigress but also with kidnapping and manhandling runo specifically, with absolutely no retribution from her side. if you're not gonna let runo fuck him up then at least let baron do the honors if he can't beat spectra in a bakugan battle.

i'm also all in favor of removing the "dragon is the direct descendant of the original dragonoid" storyline because it's dumb and doesn't make sense. if the original dharaknoid created the world that split into neathia and gundalia, then why is the guardian that protects the sacred orb (dragonoid colossus) modeled after a being that had nothing to do with their dimension or their planet? why isn't it modeled after the original dharaknoid???

ms is salvageable to me. . .but only if we bring back alice. runo and the others could probably come back too but only once everything has gone to shit.
