Do you think there's a chance a streaming service will pick ncis:h? I've signed the petition but do we dare to hope? I'm tired of this happening all the time. I just dont understand. It was doing fine in ratings and it's a part of a franchise that keeps getting more spin offs? How that makes sense? Do you know the ratings compared with the others ncis shows? Sorry im asking you but im not from usa and i have no idea how american netwoks work. So sad rn.
okay SO i am also not from the us but have done this dance before sooooo:
1) from what i’ve heard, they were planning to move either another ncis show (i think sydney?) or another cbs show to paramount plus - which they now are no longer doing. in theory yes, this opens up the possibility for ncishi to move over there; in practice, i’m not holding my breath, as typically that negotiation would happen before a cancellation announcement
2) how does it make sense? the honest answer is that it doesn’t. like, it really doesn’t. it’s been holding steady at sixth of 14 cbs shows in the ratings (which is a brilliant number, ensures it’s profitable, and is also impressive for a procedural that’s still relatively new). it’s been beating a LOT of other crime procedurals in viewership and viewer retention, and reviewers have been singing its praises. i think this is why it feels so much as if it’s because they just view this show as less valuable (socially and economically) than their usual white guy cop shows; it’s very difficult to argue that your profitable, successful show is too expensive when you’re flying cast and crews across - or, potentially, internationally to - australia, to continue a less-highly-rated show with no issue.
3) as far as ratings go - ncis hawai’i episodes were pulling in as many as 10 million viewers last year (s2 e10 came in with 10.5 mil, as per variety telecast viewership reports) which has it going toe to toe with the core ncis (seems to pull approx. 8-10mil per episode, via hollywood reporter). for the 18-49 demographic across us series, ncis hawaii is ranking at #13 of #21 as per tvseriesfinale.com - this is significantly above ncis sydney (renewed, #15), and elsbeth (#19, renewed), two other cbs shows, one of which in particular is incredibly expensive. crucially, ncishi has actually increased its viewership, which is VERY difficult to do on a year to year basis. its up by 4.18% among 18 to 49 year olds - for comparison the core NCIS is down 0.83% and fbi international - a competing show - is down by 3.73%. bear in mind that even a single percentage point represents hundreds of thousands of viewers.
i also want to point out that ranking at #13 isn’t strictly representative of viewer numbers, it’s about percentage of viewers that are within that core age bracket. the neighbourhood is ranking at #6, but only pulling in 4.8 million viewers - ncishi is at #13, and pulling in 5.2 million. ncishi pulls in over half a million more viewers than four shows ranked above it in that chart.
so essentially - it doesn’t make sense. from any perspective. it doesn’t make sense from a business perspective (ncis sydney is more expensive to produce and brings in approx. 200k less viewers than ncishi, and ncishi crew had already agreed to a shortened, budget-restrained final season), it doesn’t make sense for a ratings perspective (it continues to outperform many of cbs’ own shows, including ones that have been renewed), it doesn’t make sense from a social perspective (people are loving it, even outside of our fandom spaces).
objectively, it’s a really, really bad move by cbs. i also thought being part of a franchise would be a kind of safety net - fool me once, i guess. all the evidence suggests that they just don’t care enough about ncishi, especially when they’ve got their bullshit white guy ncis origins show, a young sheldon spinoff (?? who asked?) and a plethora of other cookie-cutter shows they can just keep going with. and we can make a pretty educated guess as to why, when the main things that set ncishi apart from the other ncis shows are its diversity and character dynamics
(edit: it was pointed out that people aren’t being flown to sydney from the us, which is true, and bad phrasing on my part - but many are flown across australia at seemingly similar costs to mainland us/hawai’i flights, and i believe not all of the leads are based in australia either, so i’ve updated that bit for clarity. apologies!)
#ncis hawaii#i hope this helps ppl understand a little more!#it’s bullshit. like it’s such unbelievable blatant bullshit#ncis hawai’i

NCIS Season 22, Episode 2 ‘Foreign Bodies’ is a very funny episode that also manages to get poignant when it comes to a character that doesn’t always get as much of a chance to shine, Leon Vance. It’s also an episode about the team, and how well they work together — even if what they’re doing is questionable at best, illegal at worst.
Season 21 being a shortened season meant we ended up with fewer episodes like this one, hours that are more about cementing team dynamics — that absolutely need to be revisited considering Jessica was gone for 6 months — than anything else. And sure, Season 22, Episode 2 ‘Foreign Bodies’ is also about Vance, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s mostly about reminding us why this team works so well together, now that they’re finally back together.
WE GOT THE BAND BACK TOGETHER
Even though we skip over Jessica’s return and the awkward reunions or non-reunions, this episode is about teamwork. And it’s also about how this Major Case Response Team is truly Vance’s team. I remember we used to get a little Vance at the beginning of NCIS: Los Angeles, and that he is actually *the* director, so he should be present in every spinoff this show has had. But these are Vance’s “kids,” in a way. And that’s why he goes to them when he needs help.
As Vance’s team, they don’t disappoint. Even if they continue to be …well, themselves, as they go around the business of figuring out the murder and basically covering Vance. Jimmy points out how bad things are more times than is necessary. Jessica is very goal-oriented. Nick seems to thrive on chaos — and really, really has no issues with rule-breaking. And McGee is somehow the voice of calm, even while going along with everything.
Then there’s Parker, who is in many ways the perfect leader for this group. Just as Gibbs was the perfect one when the agents under him were another team, with other dynamics. To each its own. And NCIS isn’t any better or worse because this team is different, it’s just that …different. And both versions of this show, the one in the past and the one we’re getting now are very much enjoyable.
HONESTY
We’ve seen Leon Vance go through a great deal of tragedy in his time on NCIS. He lost his wife, Jackie. His relationship with his kids hasn’t always been the best. In many ways, Vance has made his work team his family, and that’s important. They all care for him, enough to go out of their way to help in this hour. But Vance needs — deserves — more than just the found family of his team. He deserves a chance at the personal happiness he lost the day his wife Jackie died.
And that is, of course, scary. A loss like the one he suffered isn’t something you just snap your fingers and get over. And it has been over a decade. But some wounds don’t heal. Some wounds, which had scabbed over, can be reopened when a situation that feels like it hits too close to home occurs. That’s why Vance loses it (as much as Vance can) when Lena is taken. Because he’s been there before. He remembers a similar loss.
This time, though, it all works out for the best. His team saves Lena, Parker gives him the push he needs and Vance, well …he lets himself try something new, something that makes him happy outside of the job. Sure, there’s a risk involved. But living life without daring to take a risk is almost not living.
Things I think I think:
Venezuelan Navy? A joint task force? This might be the most fictional thing to ever happen in fiction.
Ok, but Torres does look good. Not really like security detail, but good.
The way Vance is so done with everything in this episode is hilarious.
But I do like the fact that no one even blinks when he asks if they want to leave.
“Casual girlfriend,” yeah right.
“No story. We’re friends, I think. We’re good” is not convincing. But I like that Torres and McGee asked.
Let Wilmer be the one to speak in Spanish, please.
But everyone’s face at the second body!
What do you mean more careful, Parker? You haven’t been careful AT ALL.
Come on Leon, you didn’t tell your casual girlfriend you got shot? I’m judging you.
I can’t believe Jimmy’s one line of Spanish helped.
“You done, bro?”
Parker and Vance bonding was kinda nice.
When are we going back to who was the little girl Parker saw in the NCIS Season 21 finale?
But Parker is horrible at the stalling! He’s talking about baseball now!
“The things we do for diplomacy…” kinda hurts.
But well, the girlfriend thing worked out.
Agree? Disagree? What did you think of NCIS Season 22, Episode 2 ‘Foreign Bodies’? Share with us in the comments below!

#Bull Season 2 Episode 21 "Reckless" Recap and Review
The episode starts at a crime scene. A man raped a woman, tied up her and her husband, burned the house down, and stole their car.
The police find the car. The guy in it, Elliot Miles, is mute.
Benny is with the girl from the airport! I’m so happy!!! She leaves him to talk to Bull. Benny tells him that Isabella is getting remarried. That’s why she’s been calling him so much. Bull tells Benny to go be with his girlfriend.
Marisa is woken up by a phone call from Bull.
Bull is throwing up in jail. Miles gives him a handkerchief. Bull gives Miles his card and says that he should call if he needs anything. He finds out from the police officer that Miles is mute.
Bull and Marisa talk after she bails him out. She’s worried about him. He tells her about Isabella. She thinks it’s more than that and gets out after giving him a good talking to. That’s when he sees Miles’s face in the paper.
Bull goes back to see him. Miles “says” that he didn’t do by shaking his head.
Marisa gives the spiel to the less than enthused team. Miles works in construction and claims to have bought the car two days after the crimes at a bus stop. The description of the guy he bought it from is extremely general. He also has a shaky alibi. His girlfriend says that he got home a little after 8 and the crime was committed about 7:30. He could’ve theoretically made it, but that’s pushing it a bit. Bull wants Chunk to prep her. The only one, besides Marisa, that seems ok with this case is Cable. Good for her.
After Marisa’s lecture, Bull comes into work looking fantastic. He slept a full eight hours in his apartment, got a new suit, and hasn’t had a drink in a full day. She apologizes and he stops her. He needed it.
He talks to the team. There are two differences in a death sentence case. One is that all of the jurors have to be death qualified, aka willing to sentence someone to death. I wasn’t aware of this before, but I like that rule. The trial is also potentially in two parts. One is the normal deciding if someone’s guilty part. The second is sentencing, which is decided by the same jury, not the judge. Bull semi-addresses their concerns and then goes into what kind of jurors they need. They need jurors that have reduced emotional reactivity, aka people that talk clinically about emotional moments. Restrained people, no cryers.
During jury selection, Bull is arguing with Marisa, and then goes so far as to talk over Benny to use their last strike.
Benny talks to Bull in the empty courtroom the next morning. Bull had an early morning meeting with the prosecutor early in the morning. He offered a deal to take the death penalty off the table. Bull didn’t tell anyone. Benny gets mad because he feels like him and Bull aren’t a team anymore. He didn’t want this case because he doesn’t want to have to live with the guilt if they lose.
Marisa is in therapy, which surprises me, because she’s the most together person on the show.
Chunk talks to the girlfriend. She’s flakey and doesn’t appear to like Miles all that much. Chunk decides not to use her.
The dead couple’s neighbor is on the stand. She identifies Miles as the man that ran out of her neighbor’s house. Benny destroys her credibility and tries to get her suppressed. It doesn’t work, but Bull praises him and apologizes anyway.
They tell Miles about the deal. He doesn’t take it, but his description of the bus guy gets worse. Now he has a limp.
Benny and Bull talk. Benny’s worried about him too.
Bull goes to see Isabella. He apologizes to her. She tells him that he isn’t any good alone.
The Construction Manager is on the stand. The prosecution tries to plant a story in his head, but Benny puts a stop to that.
The prosecution calls the girlfriend to the stand. She changes her answer about when Miles got home, and then admits that she has no idea. She was on bath salts at the time. Yikes! I’ve heard stories about that. She also says that the prosecutor offered her protection if she changed her story. Benny calls for a mistrial. He doesn’t get it.
Miles and Bull say something to each other in sign language. Bull tells Chunk that Miles told him “you are not alone.” NCIS reference anyone? Bull needs a drink.
The problem with a two-part episode is that it’s incomplete. I can’t in good conscience rate it until I’ve seen both parts, so stay tuned.

‘9-1-1’ Season 2 Premiere Scores Record Audience, Heeds Fox’s Ratings Emergency — Ratings Watch
Fox treated the Season 2 premiere of Ryan Murphy’s emergency drama “9-1-1” as a new series, pouring tons of marketing support behind the show. And at least on night one, it worked.
Airing in a special Sunday night slot on the eve of premiere week, “9-1-1” averaged its most-watched episode ever. Thanks to running after a football lead-in, the Sept.23 Season 2 premiere of “9-1-1” averaged 13.8 million viewers, including three days of time-shifted DVR and VOD usage.
That made it Fox’s most-watched entertainment program in two years (not including post-Super Bowl programs). “9-1-1“ was also the week’s top-rated adults 18-49 scripted show, and posted its best-ever number in the demo (3.4).
Read More:‘9-1-1’ Review: Season 2 Builds on Its Outrageous Disasters, but is Still Struggling on the Human Side
Meanwhile, it was also a strong week for FX, which landed the top two scripted series of the week in cable: Murphy’s “American Horror Story: Apocalypse,” which was the No. 1 scripted cable originals series of the week in adults 18-49 and total viewers (in its second episode), and “Mayans M.C.,” which was No. 2 among all cable scripted originals, in its third episode.
The news wasn’t as good for the 70th Primetime Emmys, which sunk to a new modern low — a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 10.6 million viewers on NBC, down from a 2.6 rating and 11.9 million viewers on CBS last year. (This year’s show took place on a Monday, but suffered from tepid reviews.)
Over on Xfinity’s ranker of top video on-demand shows last week, Showtime’s “Shameless” was tops, but FX nabbed three of the top five slots.
