DAY 5919
StWork, Mumbai May 2, 2024 Thu 12:49 PM
Birthday - EF - Elena Iankova Friday, 3 May .. and all our wishes for a happy birthday
🌹
Yo !
here before time for a very big change .. haha ..
but at work and got a bit of time and BOOM !
got to say the travel from Juhu home to work Marine Drive in 30 mins .. amazing Coastal Road and the Tunnel emerging on Marine Drive , just before its flyover and simply amazing .. !
Super constructed roads, tunnel, neat clean construct .. no traffic jams .. and done ..
Ok just to change the topic .. here is something to know :
Know what is a "mondegreen?'
MONDEGREENS
If you’ve been listening to rock music, you know it’s often hard to make out the lyrics. They sing it their way and we hear it our way.
Jimi Hendrix famously sang the phrase “While I kiss the sky” which was heard by thousands as “While I kissed this guy.”
CCR’s popular song originally said, “There’s a bad moon on the rise.” Many heard it as “There’s a bathroom on the right.”
Deep Purple’s still-popular chorus (known for its timeless guitar riff) “Smoke on the water/Fire in the sky” was misheard as “Smoke on the water/Fire engine guy.”
Nirvana’s anthem “Smells like Teen Spirit” had the lines, “Here we are now/Entertain us.” They were misheard as, “Here we are now/In containers.”
When Elvis Presley sang, “Everybody in the whole cell block”, many heard it as” Everybody in a wholesale frock”
There’s actually a word for misheard lyrics like these.
Mondegreen.
Some mondegreens became so famous that even artistes like Hendrix and CCR sang the misheard versions in their live concerts in a spirit of fun and tease.
It’s not just in pop songs that mondegreens occur. The US national anthem begins with the lofty words, “Oh say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light.’ Some heard them as “José, can you see…”
Occasionally, mondegreens had an interesting side-effect. Joe Cocker sang of a ‘lovely planet’ which was misheard as ‘lonely planet.’ The latter became the name of a well-known travel guide series of books.
No one knows why we hear the wrong thing although there are theories. It’s akin to the game of Chinese Whispers where the original line gets progressively distorted into some hilarious garbage by the time it reaches the last guy.
Mondegreens are not restricted to English alone. South Indians, with limited knowledge of Hindi, were taught patriotic songs in Hindi by zealous teachers. A popular one had the repeating phrase, “Bara tamata.” School students sang it with great gusto. Years later, some of them realized the actual words were “Bharat Mata.”
A popular line from Qurbani song, “Aap jaisa koi meri/zindagee mein aaye/ toh baat bun jaaye” was understood as “Aap jaisa koi…toh baap bun jaaye.” The defective version made sense to many who saw Zeenat Aman gyrating on those lyrics while gaping at Feroz Khan.
Many who weren’t familiar with the hill station between Bombay and Pune heard the Gulaami song as “Haathi ka andaa la” until they realized it was “Aati kya Khandala”.
I have a friend, her name is Geeta. Her family called her Gitu. Throughout her childhood and youth, she thought Rajesh Khanna was singing for her, when he said, ”Mere sapnon ki raani kab aaye Gitu”.
'Mondegreen' sounds French but isn't. In 1954, a writer at Harper’s Magazine remembered how as a little girl she misheard an old English ballad. The actual words, saluting a dead war hero, were:
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭 𝘰' 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯.
She heard them as:
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭 𝘰' 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯.
And thus was born the word ‘mondegreen’ to signify all misheard lyrics from that moment on.
Turns out, mondegreen itself started life as a mondegreen.
sent to me by a friend .. 🤣🤣
More perhaps later .. or perhaps not ..
Amitabh Bachchan
and some more .. a very pertinent article in TOI ..

Im gonna need your like, whole musical rec list, bc literally every song you have posted has not flopped once, give me your faves i need to eat them
OUGHHH YOUVE UNLOCKED THE BEAST ARGSHHFHJDF....
in the interest of making this both easily accessible but not stretching the dashboard, im embedding bandcamp links when i can, otherwise linking to youtube when unavailable
in no particular order, inclusion based mostly on what im still actively into LMAO but also just things you should give a go at least once:
list of artist recommendations
zeal and ardor: described as a mix of african-american spirituals and black metal. try devil is fine, you aint coming back, wake of a nation or church burns
bloodywood: indian folk metal, literally nobody is doing it like them. recently featured in monkey man (2024), try chakh le, yaad or dana dan
stromae: if youve never heard any of his songs WHAT ARE YOU DOING..... incredible lyricist, described as a blend of hip hop/electronic. papaoutai made the rounds on tumblr a while back, but you should also try santé and l'enfer
alamat: pinoy pop. a youtube commenter described them as sounding like 2nd gen kpop which probably also explains why i took a shine to them LMAO, notable for the amount of filipino culture on display and the diversity thereof (singing in different languages, themes). first heard them thru kasmala either here or on twitter lmao, try aswang or maharani
andy bull: alt-pop. a lot of poppy and upbeat songs with a melancholic undertone imo. an australian artist, try it's all connected or keep on running
cosmo sheldrake: electronic, wikipedia also lists him as folktronica and baroque pop. you may have heard the song come along on an apple ad - hes known for sampling sounds from nature. pliocene for example features sounds from endangered ecosystems.
if you like cosmo sheldrake, you might like hidden orchestra (electronica, ambient). also making use of field recordings, i really love the archipelago mixtape but its a hard sell at about an hour lmao. if you like the following song then i implore you to give it a go
son lux: experimental, you may have heard from them in the entire soundtrack for everything everywhere all at once (!!!!!). try dangerous, dream state (brighter night) or live another life.
ammar 808: electronic/world fusion, also behind bargou 08 (folk rock you should also listen to). i just cant get ain essouda out of my head, but i also love geeta duniki
miyavi: j-rock, used to be a visual kei artist. these days he might be known more for anime openings like flashback (kokkoku) or other side (id:invaded), or for work like snakes in arcane (or actually inspiring and voicing a character in it), but ive always been partial to his early work like sukkyanen myv or ashita, genki ni naare
songs/albums
'threads' album by now, now (indie rock).
'dream to make believe' or 'what to do when you are dead' by armor for sleep (rock, emo). here's the truth about heaven from the latter album
i already posted about it but denzel curry's 13lood 1n + 13lood out mixx (rap, trap) is extremely good
the guilty gear soundtracks and im so serious im not fucking joking. different kinds of rock and metal and all sorts of influences put in, a genuine labor of love. xrd and earlier games are mainly instrumental with some vocal tracks (try give me a break or big blast sonic), while strive pretty much always includes vocals (of course i need to rec rock parade, but also try requiem. its genuinely hard for me to pick and choose lmao)
not an album and not an artist
coke studio pakistan and coke studio bangla knocking it out of the fucking park, im particularly a fan of harkalay and kotha koiyo na. you could try the other coke studios too (tamil, india, etc)
triple j like a version is when the radio station triple j brings in artists and has them do a cover of a song (artists choice). i liked denzel curry's cover of bulls on parade and flume's shooting stars (video for this one is incredible, man had a vision you just have to stick it out), but you get a lot of interesting interpretations like the wombats' running up that hill, gordi's in the end or, infamously. the wiggles' elephant
ive DEFINITELY missed out some, but thats what my music tag is for LMAO i hope someone discovers something they like here!!!!
#ive tried to include a mix of songs that covers their range..#includes the ones i like but ALSO is easiest on newcomers#particularly with the metal bands LMAO#eg church burns isnt really my favorite on the album but i remember it being the song i started with#specifically because someone in the reviews said it would be the easiest to start with. and they were right#also miyavi HAD to be here ive been a fan since GRADE SCHOOL#if ive recommended an album and not the artist its probably because im not a huge fan of their other stuff LMAO either cos#theyve moved away from what ive recommended stylistically (armor for sleep or now now)#or i havent gotten to a lot of the other stuff/its not my thing (denzel curry. sorry)#i liked the song ricky but a lot of the discography just isnt what i listen to rip#honestly it was so hard to choose AHSDUSDF i tried to choose artists that i really think others should listen to#but yeah obviously some are just there because. /i/ like them lol#wait not me reading the ask properly again and seeing that the focus was MY faves ASHDSDFSDHFBSDf#i got too excited at the prospect of recommending music#sonochinosodomy#ask#Bandcamp#music#obviously this couldnt be Everything... but ive done my best#to pare it down.............#long post

Two weeks ago, female wrestler Vinesh Phogat became the first woman from India to make the Olympic finals—and was promptly disqualified for being 100 grams overweight.
On August 9, Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement from the sport of wrestling in a post on X. After the previous day’s incidents, it was a message that many had been expecting.
Vinesh experienced the highest of highs at the Paris Olympics. She defeated an unbeaten Olympic champion wrestler who was considered not just the favourite in her weight division but across every weight division at the quadrennial event. She became the first Indian woman wrestler to reach an Olympic final. However, Vinesh also faced the lowest of lows at the Olympics. No one had ever reached an Olympic final only to be denied the chance to compete because they had failed to make weight on the day of the competition.
Vinesh had taken her case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, seeking at least to be awarded a silver medal by virtue of reaching the final. If she had succeeded, she would have set a precedent, but, much to the disappointment of the nation, her appeal was turned down by the sole arbitrator, Annabelle Bennett.
...
Vinesh has always been a fighter. Tragedy has followed her, yet somehow, against the odds, she has emerged victorious.
When she was nine, her father was shot dead by someone in her village, believed to be a mentally disturbed relative, just outside their front door. Her mother, a young widow, refused the custom of marrying her husband’s brother. She battled cancer single-handedly. Through it all, she raised a firebrand daughter, who refused to back down.
Her cousins, who grew up near her home, were the more famous girls of the family. Geeta and Babita were among the first to win gold at the Commonwealth Games. They had a movie made about them — Dangal — which made the ‘Phogat sisters’ iconic in Indian sports.
Vinesh didn’t feature in that movie. The events described in it took place too early in her career. But she wouldn’t be satisfied with being one of the Phogat sisters — she would become ‘The Phogat’ sister.
Talk to any of her peers .— and even some of her rivals in Indian wrestling – and there is, in some cases, grudging, genuine respect. She is considered the most instinctive and natural wrestler India has ever produced in women’s freestyle wrestling.
Her career is as much a highlight reel as anything out of a movie. No one in women’s wrestling compares. No Indian woman wrestler has won three Commonwealth gold medals as she did in 2014, 2018, and 2022. No one has won an Asian Games gold medal as she did in 2018. No one has won two World Championships medals as she did in 2019 and 2022.
The one medal missing from her collection is the Olympic medal — which she fought bitterly for.
...
Vinesh has had terrible luck at the Olympics — the only competition that seems to matter to Indians. In 2016, she was one of the favourites in the Indian team before her knee was bent out of shape in the quarterfinals. In 2020, she was one of the world’s favourites to medal in the women’s 53kg weight class. Then, suddenly, a freak weight cut left her physically and psychologically broken, unable to coordinate her movements on the mat. She lost to a wrestler she had beaten comfortably just a month before. Now, in Paris, another poor weight cut left her at the lowest point of her wrestling career.
Her battles, though, haven’t been restricted to the mat. Perhaps the most significant one Vinesh has fought has been for the safety of young girls in the sport. In pursuing this fight, she took on one of the most powerful men in Indian sports — Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
When her rivals were preparing for the Olympics, Vinesh was fighting on the streets of New Delhi, where she, and few other fellow wrestlers, accused Brij Bhushan, a five-time member of parliament and the long-time president of the Wrestling Federation, of sexual harassment.
The longer she stayed on the streets, the slimmer her chances on the mat became. Yet, she continued to prioritise what she felt was right. In doing so, Vinesh showed the kind of courage almost uniformly lacking in most sportspersons in India. Most of them, as the saying goes, “crawl when asked to bend.” Vinesh’s spine has been ramrod straight. She had the courage to take on the system without caring about the consequences. She displayed it even though it cost her what she loved the most — the chance to wrestle.
Only when her protest was forced off the streets and entered the court did Vinesh finally get a chance to compete.
This article delves into her struggle to rein in her weight as the Olympic timeline unfolded. It's horrifying to read.
TW for fatphobia and people with eating disorders and body dysmorphia: fatphobia:
Even as she had been winning, Vinesh’s nutritionist had been nervously monitoring her food and fluid intake.
She had a celebratory glass of juice in the morning right after she had first made weight – 300 grams. She had another couple of litres of fluid to rehydrate herself before her bout - another 2000 grams of body weight gained. A couple of light snacks throughout the day to keep her energy up meant 700 grams more.
By the time Vinesh was done with her day’s competition, she weighed 52.7 kg.
August 7:
As the hours rolled into the night, it was clear that something had gone very wrong. After weeks of dehydration, the human body, once it gets rehydrated, simply refuses to give up water. Even urination becomes impossible.
Vinesh didn’t sleep all through the night of August 6. She was on the treadmill for six hours and in the sauna for another three. She didn’t consume a bite of food or drink a drop of water. Every few hours, she stood on a weighing scale. The numbers were getting smaller but not fast enough. In desperation, her coaches trimmed the elastic in the bottom of her costume. They thought of chopping her hair and then did it.
But the scale didn’t budge.
The function of weight classes is to prevent outsized mismatches in strength due to body mass and minimize injury. Pathologizing what is clearly water weight to this extent and subjecting athletes to this kind of psychological torture due to minute variables is simply making what is essentially a safety measure into a punitive arbitrary criteria that has huge implications for racialized fatphobia for female athletes and the reinforcement of toxic diet culture across the board. It's misogynistic, unscientific and fucked. This article goes into more detail about Phogat's career-long battle with her weight— a yo-yo of losing too much, and then too little. Indistinguishable from an eating disorder, only one imposed by the standards of international sports.
You will never convince me that a white athlete would have been disqualified in the lightest weight category for a weight less than a bar of soap. The disqualification retroactively places her dead last, which is added cruelty. The refusal to revise this and even award her a joint silver is just adding racist insult to racist injury.
Phogat spoke two days ago about her devastation at being disqualified by racism and fatphobia with a three page post on twitter.
And on top of all of this, because the Indian National Congress political party welcomed her with a road show that outshone the alt-right BJP's own planned welcome, the Hindutvas in her own country have launched a hate campaign against her.
This copy-paste has "disqualified in Rio 2016" trending on twitter. It's doubly cruel and fatphobic because she wasn't disqualified for being overweight, she sustained a knee injury.
After the witch hunt against Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting, I'm just so fucking done with the Olympics. The outsize importance of this competition is nothing but an anvil to break entire careers on and offers female athletes of colour on a platter for all the world's vultures.
#I grew up watching my own country beating Susanthika Jayasinghe to the ground#and then seeing her husband arrested for domestic abuse and battery after her career ended#and then the treatment of Caster Semenya left such a collective scar on so many women of colour and Black women#it all just keeps building up man#i'm really glad algeria turned out the way it did for imane#i hope they don't turn on her too down the line#but it feels like too much to hope for#vinesh phogat#i had no idea Dangal was based on her family! go watch it on Netflix it's really good!#india#racism#misogyny#fatphobia#tw harrassment#tw hate#anti bjp#indian politics#olympics 2024#women's wrestling#ableism#tw body dysmorphia#tw weight loss#colonialism#white supremacy#knee of huss

Some more 🍐 hc
Because if I don't post them, nobody will :^)
More focus on The Accident™️ this time because... why not :^))
Retirement was voluntary rather than forced; following The Accident™️ he was able to return to snowboarding and quickly (all things considered) managed to get back to close to his pre-accident skill level. However, despite his best efforts, he was unable to complete any of the standard racecourses he trained on in a competitive time. He could still complete the courses, just not in the times he used to be able to.
He refused to accept this, of course, and just kept pushing himself over and over, convinced he just needed to put in more effort. This all led to a much-anticipated return to competition at the Paldean National Championships... only for him to wipe out early on after taking a turn too fast. He didn't return to complete the course, and announced his official retirement the next day.
Sometimes he still wonders if he made the right decision or not.
He still spends most of his free time hiking and/or snowboarding, and has a small group of buddies he's known since he was a kid.
Actually genuinely does enjoy Pokémon battling deep down, however due to how overly micromanaged the Paldean League gyms are, he's kinda fallen out with it because League rules prevent him from battling how he likes. He has to win a certain amount of battles, lose a certain amount, isn't allowed to use a full team unless for International tournaments, can only use certain moves etc etc.
Post rematch, he decides to let loose a bit more and battle how he wants to, Geeta be damned.
Speaking of Geeta, she doesn't actually hate him. Like, at all. Being an athlete, he's just naturally way harder on himself than he probably should be, so he's cooked up this idea in his head that she's constantly disappointed in him and looking for any excuse to sack him when in reality she couldn't care less.
That or she told him she would sack him if he didn't pull his weight in a misguided attempt to make him work harder, I haven't quite figured out my Geeta hc yet lol
Slightly less sad:
His Altaria likes to sit on his shoulders and muss his hair up.
His name in the Paldea gym leader's group chat is 🍐. Just 🍐. Literally just the pear emoji. 🍐.
His phone lock screen is a cool pic of him snowboarding with a GoPro. His home screen is his pre-evolved Cetitan snuggling with his scarf.

In the midst of the controversy surrounding a scene in Oppenheimer, where the titular character is depicted engaging in sexual activity while reciting verses from an ancient Sanskrit scripture, purportedly the Bhagavad Gita, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has stepped forward to praise Christopher Nolan’s biographical thriller film.
Taking to social media on Monday, Kangana lauded the movie as “Christopher Nolan’s best work so far” and expressed her admiration for the part in the film referencing Bhagavad Gita and Lord Vishnu. “Most important film of our time… I am so excited I just didn’t want it to end… It has everything I deeply love, I am passionate about physics and politics… For me, this was like a cinematic orgasm… beyond wonderful,” she noted while sharing a selfie video.
“The theme of the film is that when your nationalism rises, it precedes your religion; but when your humanity rises, it precedes your nationalism and you become a problem for the system. And the system that built you, starts disintegrating you. My favourite part is the reference to Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Lord Vishnu when he channelises his inner Vishnu. Go watch it… it’s a lovely film,” the Queen actor said in the video.
J Robert Oppenheimer, regarded as ‘the father of the atom bomb’, had learnt Sanskrit and was said to be influenced by the Bhagavad Gita. In the film, Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy, is shown having sex with psychologist Jean Tatler (Florence Pugh) as she asks him to read a verse from what appears to be a Sanskrit book, whose title or cover is not visible.
The scene involving Gita in Oppenheimer had irked a section of social media users, who demanded the removal of the sequence from Christopher Nolan’s latest film.
Uday Mahurkar, information commissioner, Government of India, wrote an open letter to Nolan, terming the scene a “disturbing attack on Hinduism” and appealed to the director to remove the scene worldwide.
“We urge, on behalf of billion Hindus and the timeless tradition of lives being transformed by revered Geeta, to do all that is needed to uphold the dignity of their revered book and remove this scene from your film across the world. Should you choose to ignore this appeal it would be deemed as a deliberate assault on Indian civilisation. Eagerly await needful action (sic)” Mahurkar, founder of Save Culture Save India Foundation, wrote.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has sought an explanation from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on why it cleared the movie in its present form. According to sources, Thakur has demanded accountability from the CBFC, which functions under the aegis of the I&B Ministry, regarding clearing the movie with the controversial scene, which has hurt the sentiments of a section of the Hindu community.
The Dhaakad actor’s comments come a day after she locked horns with former Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy after the latter questioned her Y-plus security status. He tweeted, “The SPG knows, and has kept a register of her movements. I wonder why since it is no business of SPG to track Bollywood stars. In her case, on a special dispensation, she has a high level of security provided.”
Kangana replied, “I am not just a Bollywood star sir, I am also a very vocal and concerned citizen, I was the target of political malice in Maharashtra, at my expense nationalists could make a government here. I also spoke about tukde gang and strongly condemned Khalistani groups. I am also a filmmaker, writer and producer and my next production Emergency involves operation Bluestar… there is evident treat to my life hence I requested for extended security… Is there something wrong in this Sir?”'

Vinesh Phogat: A Wrestling Star
Vinesh Phogat: A Wrestling Star – Vinesh Phogat has been already printed in the history of wrestling as she is the first female wrestler to enter a gold medal bout. Regarded as one of the best wrestlers to make an appearance from India in the Paris 2024 Olympics, she has also a strong wrestling family background.
Vinesh was born into one of the most famed Indian wrestling families and cousins, Geeta Phogat, and Babita Kumari. Her uncle Mahavir Singh Phogat instilled the idea of wrestling in her at a very young age.
The locals, who believed that wrestling was a man’s activity and supported keeping women within their homes, opposed Vinesh’s actions. Vinesh Phogat also had to deal with her father’s sudden death at the age of nine.
The Inspiring Journey of Vinesh Phogat
Commonly, the subject of inspiration belongs to Vinesh Phogat, who may be considered one of the most influential people of the present day for many people, as she shows persistence at her best. In the sphere of women’s wrestling, she takes her place as a leading figure and her fame rises higher because of her sheer passion and splendid shows.
Nevertheless, she goes on and overcomes all the odds, barriers, and shake-offs of the society and her success narrative can be seen on the national as well as international level painting the picture of success amidst the Modest challenges.
Just a few days back, Vinesh Phogat was angry and unbeatable indeed on the issues of threatening, police arrest, backlash in a protest she was leading, and even a campaign to malign her character months before her dream of winning the Olympic medal turned into reality.
Rather than sit in her despair, she rained abuses on her critics and abusers loudly and fiercely. So this would come in handy as she failed twice over 12 years, to make it to the Olympics; She became the first Indian women wrestler to qualify for it.
She has faced a lot of hardships and failure on the way and now she is an example of perfection and one of the most legendary female wrestlers of all time. Her sterling record is characterized by a dazzling array of medals and achievements that she got by dint of prowess and sweat; this makes her a champagne sporting personality.
She has now emerged as the most successful female wrestler who has been awarded many medals throughout her wrestling career.
Vinesh Phogat one of the ruthless wrestlers of India, was born in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana on 25 August 1994. Indian professional wrestler and a three-time Olympian performed exceptionally in the Paris Olympics 2024, however, she is now disqualified because of her overweight by 100 grams before her gold medal match.
Earlier, she was the first Indian woman wrestler that win the gold in the Commonwealth or the Asian games. And frequently, she is now the only Indian woman wrestler to win multiple medals at the World Wrestling Championships.
Paris Olympics 2024: A memorable journey
The storyline of Vinesh Phogat is very prominent. She is now become the attraction of the Olympics 2024. Although, she is disqualified for the finals but her journey is very sparkling and exceptional. She showcased her and her devoting performances till she was disqualified.
In competing at the 2024 Asian Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Vinesh earned a quota place for India at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. The rules necessitated wrestlers to be weighed on two occasions, in which Vinesh passed the 50kg weight check.
However, she went beyond the limit after her fights, she had to drop 2kgs for the following morning’s weigh-in to get down to the needed weight. The 50kg division will now result in one gold and two bronze medals.
At the Paris 2024 Olympics, she created history by appearing as the first Indian wrestler to triumph over Yui Susaki, the gold medal-dominating woman, and the World Champion during the round of 16 bouts of women’s 50 kg wrestling.
Oksana Livach from Ukraine 7-5 was also defeated by Phogat in the quarter-final and Yusneylys Guzman of Cuba 5-0 in the semi-final. With these victories, she became the first Indian female wrestler to enter an Olympic final.
With the remembrance of her obstacles, struggles, and successes. This is a small attempt to brighten up the inspirational and influential journey of Vinesh Phogat.

New Criminal Laws Take Effect: First FIR Registered in Delhi Under Revamped Legal Framework
A new era in Indian criminal jurisprudence began today as the recently enacted criminal laws came into force. This historic day witnessed the first First Information Report (FIR) being registered under the new legal framework at the Connaught Place Police Station in the heart of the capital.
The revamped legal provisions are part of a comprehensive overhaul aimed at modernizing India's criminal justice system, which has long been criticized for being outdated and inefficient. The new laws, which replace the centuries-old Indian Penal Code (IPC), Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act, have been designed to expedite the judicial process and ensure more effective enforcement of justice.
The first FIR under the new regime was lodged in connection with a high-profile case involving a financial fraud scam that had shaken the business community in Delhi. According to police sources, the accused, a prominent businessman, is alleged to have orchestrated a multi-crore scam involving fraudulent investments and siphoning off funds from unsuspecting investors. The swift registration of the FIR marks a significant milestone, demonstrating the authorities' commitment to implementing the new laws with immediate effect.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the media, emphasizing the transformative potential of the new criminal laws. "The enactment of these laws is a landmark moment in India's legal history. They are designed to bring about transparency, efficiency, and accountability in our criminal justice system. We are confident that these changes will restore faith in the legal process and deter criminal activities," Singh stated.
One of the notable features of the new laws is the introduction of stricter penalties for white-collar crimes, cybercrimes, and crimes against women and children. The laws also include provisions for witness protection and victim compensation, ensuring a more victim-centric approach to justice. Additionally, the digitization of FIRs and case management systems is expected to streamline police investigations and court proceedings.
Legal experts have welcomed the reforms, although some have raised concerns about their implementation. Senior advocate Geeta Luthra noted, "While the new laws are a step in the right direction, their success will depend on effective implementation and the training of law enforcement agencies. There is a need for robust infrastructure and continuous monitoring to ensure that the objectives of these laws are met."
Public response to the new laws has been largely positive, with many citizens expressing hope for a more responsive and just legal system. Rajesh Sharma, a resident of Delhi, commented, "For years, we have been waiting for a change. The new laws seem promising, and I hope they will bring about the much-needed reforms in our justice system."
As the nation embarks on this new legal journey, the first FIR registered in Delhi under the new criminal laws symbolizes a pivotal step towards a more just and equitable society. The coming months will be crucial in assessing the practical impact of these reforms and ensuring that the promise of justice is delivered to all citizens.

"So we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. —Romans 12:5." The bible
"He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings, and all beings in his own Self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye. Set thy heart upon thy work, but never on its reward." Bhagvad geeta
"God created light of which all the beings were born And from this light, the universe; so who is good and who is bad" Guru Granth Sahib ji
As a citizen of my country, I'm ashamed. I am devastated. How can these leaders be within their own world not caring about people that are being recklessly killed? Kids. People with dreams. Mothers. Sisters. Brothers. Fathers.
Being from a country that has once seen this, the bloodshed and whatnot just in the name religion be that hindu, muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jains etc. Whatever is happening right now is absolutely disgusting and it is a criminal activity. How can we just ignore this? Tons of videos get shared everyday and i wonder if their heart ever wavers?
It's said that being sensitive is a curse as well as a blessing...i count it as a blessing. If an 18 year old can understand this, hell, if a kid knows what's kind and what's not then how can these middle aged people not give a fuck about all this? I'm...i can't begin to tell you the crushing feeling that hits me everytime I see one of these videos, one of the people who were just a few weeks ago enjoying their life, dreaming about pursuing all their wishes are now nowhere to be found.
I wonder...what's the United Nations up to? Isn't it their job to maintain the peace in this world? Where were they during Russia and Ukraine's war? They haven't, in my opinion, ever achieved a milestone. What is the point of it?
Because at the end, the world is so consumed by hate and power that they do not think of the consequences twice. Not even once. And at the end of the day, we, the ordinary citizens, who always suffer among the beefs of these big leaders and the ideologies they have influenced on the people, will come together to help the others.
I asked my father before the things got this messed up, "whose side are you on?"
"No one. Because it's not about right or wrong anymore. It's about the innocent people that are losing their lives."
But I will pray, I will keep praying, keep manifesting and what not to get at least a ray of hope for these people. It's the least i can do and I know that one day, these people, will be at peace. The ones who were sacrificed will be remembered. Forever.
