I thought to myself "we need more wlw smut", and as a MalMage shipper, I know the girl counterpart of them needs some screen time. This is part of this MalMage fic I'm doing, but it can be read by itself.

Summary: Natasha and Lucy formally meet during holidays at Watford and they get to know each other better than anyone before.

Here's Chapter 1: 'tis the damn season

Some WLW smut for Natasha/Lucy on their Watford years for you today. This is also my first sapphic smut and thanks to this, it might not be the last time.

Here's a snippet of it:

NATASHA

She gives in, grabbing a scone and biting on it.

Her blue eyes open up in surprise and her cheeks fill up with the blush of a smile, her few freckles shining.

“Morgana, these are good.”

“I know.”

I push myself to sit closer to her, since it seems like I will need to be the one to do so, but her arms are already pulling me towards her. My hand comes up to reach her face, and when I’m holding the back of her head, her hand grabbing my chin, we both close the distance, and we kiss.

As we walked towards here, I thought kissing her, touching her, might put me off. I’ve only ever been with men, and I liked it. Before Malcolm, I kissed a lot of other boys, boys that were drawn to me for being the headmaster’s daughter, for being some type of forbidden fruit that enticed their curiosity. And with Malcolm, I loved getting to be with him in any way. I liked that he’s taller and broader than me, that he could hold me and lead while also letting me tell him what to do; I liked that he’s malleable. And I liked how it felt to be treasured by him even when I know his mind wandered at times.

However, I also wanted to be with someone present, even when it’s a girl who we’re talking about

Natasha would've loved Simon and Penny.

Natasha loved sour cherry scones and i bet even as a headmaster, she would've gone to the dining hall during tea break just to get some scones. I imagine Simon and Natasha would grab a plate each and hover round the food table chatting about anything, possibly about their love for sour cherry scones.

In wayward son, Baz calls Penny "his mother's child". Natasha would have loved Penny's intelligence and courage. If Natasha could choose to mentor anyone who wasn't Baz, she'd choose Penny.

In a world where Baz still had Natasha, I think he wouldn't have turned out "evil". Baz would have been friends with Simon and Penny early on and I'm sure Natasha would've loved Baz's friends.

thinking about the question of how natasha would have reacted to baz's vampirism again.

i used to be firmly on the side that she would have rejected him entirely, maybe even actually killed him. after all, fiona and baz both say as much, and why would they make that up? true, natasha as a ghost has nothing but love for baz, even though she saw him get turned before she killed herself - but we don't know how the afterlife works or what's going on in her head. maybe she's repressed the memory. maybe she has some kind of Ghost Vision telling her he's still alive, still has a soul, still counts as a person, etc, and she assumes that means he can't possibly be a vampire, so either she was mistaken or they found a cure.

but now i'm like... hmm. that's not actually super convincing. it's still very much an open question. it's equally possible that natasha has realised that she was turned and yet she undeniably still has a soul, so maybe not ever single vampire needs to be burnt at the stake.

but like. part of the reason i used to grate against the idea of an accepting natasha was because i felt like it so easily turned into flattening her into a perfect mother who only exists in the story to heal baz, and that's so clearly not who she is...

but now i'm wondering if fiona and (possibly*) malcolm are actually doing a similar sort of flattening by being so certain natasha would murder her only son. not making her a perfect person or mother, but making her a perfect pitch - someone who would never sacrifice her honour for anything, whose loyalty to the family name overrides even her loyalty to the real family in front of her. a pristine symbol of a lost age.

honestly, i think the combination of general vampirism stigma with natasha's death is strong enough that it's not just that baz feels guilty for surviving - on some level, fiona and (possibly*) malcolm actually feel guilty for letting him live. of course, they'd feel guilty for killing him too, doubtless far more so, and there's no danger of them actually doing it... but i think it's still part of the picture. they love baz, but they're still afraid of him, and even though he hasn't actually done anything (yet?), it still feels treacherous and unclean just for there to be a vampire within the pitch home.

*we never get to see inside malcolm's head, so we don't actually know if his position is the same as fiona's. but baz has picked up fiona's position and never had it contradicted, so it seems likely.

Because we have the most outlandish name - Tyrannus Basilton Grimm-Pitch for our beautiful man.

But what about Natasha and Fiona?

Are they ridiculously traditional/old family names? Are they fun lighthearted middle names? Are they the most basic of basic middle names?

Live Again

it has been over a year since i wrote the first part of this fic, but i've finally finished it off for this year's @carry-on-sapphic-week. the prompt is phoenix, which i feel applies to Natasha in this fic!

In the month since Natasha Pitch came back from the dead, a lot changed. Daphne doesn’t care for the politics of it all; she cares about her family. Her kids have a million questions she has no easy answers for, Fiona is tetchier than she has ever seen her, and Malcolm… Well, it's best not to even think about him. Only Baz seems to be taking it well, on the surface at least, but Daphne can still tell that something is off about him, too.

Vampires In The Nursery!

~ News for Mages of all ages and stages ~

(A/N: this is part one little mini project I did of turning the events of Carry On into newspaper articles)

One of the many questions on everyone's minds: Are any of our children really safe?'

The attack took place only days before the autumn term began, imagine the carnage that would have occurred on a typical Watford day. Mistress Mary the nursery manager said that one of the beasts attacked Grimm-Pitch from behind clamping its fangs onto her neck after she neatly decapitated another who was threatening her very own son. "She was like Fury herself," Mary said, "Like something out of a film the monster bit her and she choked out a Tyger Tyger burning bright-- then they both went up in flames." Her son 5-year-old Tyrannus Basilton Grimm-Pitch was shaken but unharmed. His father, Malcolm Grimm has taken the boy to the family home in Hampshire to recover.

The coven is convened in an emergency meeting as of this writing to discuss the attack on Watford; the escalation of the dark creature problem; and the appointment of an interim headmaster.

There have been calls to close the school until our struggles with dark creatures are sorted-- and even suggestions that we join the Americans and Scandinavians in mainstreaming our children into Normal schools.

With nothing decided, whether Watford will open for the autumn term or even this school year at all hangs in the air. And if the coven does decide to keep the school open, who will lead it? Despite the suddenness of this horrible tragedy, there are some popular choices.

While not the most popular one of the most notable candidates is a man by the name of David Cadwallader. Cadwallader is known by most as something of a radical and proposes many forward ideas about reintegrating Normal culture into the world of Mages saying that he "fears we've become far too disconnected with the events of the Normal world and their culture. We think ourselves far above them when in fact" he claims that "we cannot exist without them."

But before people can even think of choosing a new headmaster they must grieve the old one. A private family-only funeral will be held for the late Natasha Grimm-Pitch at the family estate and then according to Lucas Ravenworth the coven will hold a brief ceremony commemorating her. 

When all is said and done and a new mage is chosen what will they do about the increasingly growing dark creature problem? Is Mage dominance coming to an end? Read the next issue of The Watford Gazette to find out.

This is a collaboration for @carry-on-big-bang where @theearlgreymage wrote the story and I made the art.

Chapter Three is exciting as we get the backstory of Persephone!Baz.

I got to this moment and I had to stop and draw it. I love the interplay between Natasha and Baz as she teaches him to use his magic. And Natasha is a fantastic Demeter!

Of course, then I went back to reading and wanted to draw what comes next, lol. But the pull of Lil Baz was too strong!

And I just want to take a moment to appreciate the colours Rachel Smythe uses for her characters. Half the fun has been c l o s e l y looking at the panels of the web comic.

No no no I’m good I’m definitely not thinking about Natasha Grimm Pitch Visiting her son again when he’s 38 years old and him being a little afraid of her judgement and he saying something like

“Oh little puff, I would have changed the world for you. I would have changed my mind.”

(And also her saying something along the lines of “Say hello to Malcom and Fiona for me, and tell Daphne thank you, for picking up the pieces, and loving you when I could not.” And smiling at Simon and giving them each a kiss on the temple and leaving to wait peacefully behind the Veil)
