Frieren : Don't worry, I know just one thing. Hey, Stark. I think that somethings might to be close to the lake. Aren't we going to solve this problem that migbt be the solution?
Stark : Look, Mrs Frieren, I'm sorry that the problems can be solved in different ways, but you see it's just that lake is super clean and--

You realized very quickly that learning about ghosts and ghouls was not good for your condition. As Professor Gallant informed you in a very unsurprised and uninterested voice: “jump-scares are part of the job.”
Unlike with humans, the Nine-Tailed Fox was hyper-sensitive to your interactions with any spirits, since she herself was a spirit. Even when the tiniest ghost came floating out of a small cubbard, the Nine-Tailed Fox would bristle.
You’re turning me into a scaredy-cat, you stupid fox.
You don’t understand, the Fox said sharply. Once the spirit senses me in you, they are tempted to overcome me and take you as their host. Only, two spirits cannot inhabit the same receptacle.
I’m a receptacle?
You are to us.
Well, I thought you said you were powerful, you said accusingly, as you stared in the mirror, observing the silver fox ears sprouting from your head yet again. So why are you threatened by these teeny-tiny ghouls, huh?
The Fox merely turned her head away from you, with her nose in the air.
You sighed. It hadn’t been two weeks yet, so you’d taken to wearing your hood up even when Professor Gallant was training you.
When he made no comment about it, you ventured to ask, “You don’t think I’m strange?” to which he replied, “Of course you’re strange. You want to learn about the otherworldly.”
*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *
Two weeks passed, and Severus Snape did not come to you with any Disguising Potions. Finally, you went up to his office yourself.
“Excuse me,” you said, as soon as Severus opened the door.
“Oh. It’s you.”
“You said you could make the Disguising Potion in two weeks.”
“I’m missing an ingredient. I’m waiting for it to arrive.”
“What ingredient?”
“Salvinia Natans.”
Your nose crinkled. “What?”
“Otherwise known as the Floating Fern,” Severus explained. “It’s an aquatic plant.”
“So, can’t you just find it in the Great Lake?”
Severus sighed. “Technically, there could be some down in the Great Lake, yes. But one would have to venture fairly far down to – Wait!”
But you were already off and running, desperate either to have the Potion or to have Severus satisfy you again, and you were rather keen to avoid that latter option.
*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *
Having cast the Bubble-Head Charm on yourself, you dove into the Great Lake. At first, the swimming seemed easy, but the deeper you went, the darker the water became, until you had to light up your wand to see a mere three feet in front of you.
Oh, so you’re embarrassed by the fox ears on your head, but you’re not afraid to swim around with a stupid bubble over your head? The Fox snorted.
Well, the difference is that there is no one around here, you shot back.
The Fox replied, I wouldn’t be so sure.
What?
“Hello!”
You screamed bloody murder, with your heartbeat literally stopped for a moment, until you realized that it was just Moaning Myrtle, the harmless ghost that haunted the girls’ bathroom on the second floor.
Myrtle immediately sulked. “I know I’m a ghost, but there’s no need to shriek like that…”
I’m so sorry, Myrtle, you tried to say, but all that came out of your bubble was a trail of smaller bubble.
But Myrtle seemed to understand. She giggled cheerfully, “I got you good, didn’t I?”
You nodded at her.
“What are you down here for, anyways?”
Another stream of bubbles left your mouth, as you replied, I’m looking for an underwater fern, called the Floating Fern.
“Oh, I know what those are. The mermaids like to flock around it.”
Mermaids?
“Sure, over there.” Myrtle pointed, but all you could see was inky black. “There’s an underwater garden of sorts. You’ll see.”
Um, Myrtle. Could you do me a huge favor and go and pick me some? I promise I’ll –
Before you could even finish your first attempt at negotiation, Myrtle’s eyes widened and she started to weep. “Pick you some? As if I could interact with physical objects! As if my hands could – could wrap around something and p-pick it up! How dare you?
Myrtle, don’t cry. Myrtle, I’m sorry! You called desperately after her, but she was already gone.
Very smooth, the Fox commented.
You scowled. Why couldn’t you help me charm her, huh? Why do you only ever persuade men I don’t even fancy to sleep with me? We could avoid all of that by just getting Severus what he needs to make this bloody Potion.
Exactly.
What?
That Potion will disguise the physical attributes arising from my inhabitation of you, but it doesn’t actually solve the issue – that is, it leaves me depleted of energy. You’re starving me, child, and you expect me to help you to prolong that?
At this, you fell silent for a moment. Then, quietly, you murmured, I’m sorry. That’s not what I meant.
I know. Besides, though you don’t know it, you’re doing very well with this one on your own.
Hm?
Nothing, the Fox said airily, just keep swimming.
You did, until you came to the underwater garden that Myrtle had been talking about.
You stared confusedly at the multitude of plants before you. The hell is that? Or this? Or… Merlin, I didn’t know there were so many aquatic plants.
After a moment, you stupidly decided to just go for it. You reached out and grabbed at a fern – only to have its leaves suddenly come up all over with pricking needles and burn the hell out of your fingers and palm.
Owwwww! You gasped and immediately let go of the plant. You jolted backwards, thrashing about in the water, and you accidentally ran straight into something behind you,
Oh, Merlin, no, this is just my luck! Running right into some sea monster - !
But when you turned around, it was none other than Severus, except he wasn’t wearing a bubble around his head like you. Instead, he looked entirely like himself, except for…
Your eyes widened. Are those gills on the sides of his neck? And webs between his fingers?
Before you could say anything (or let out a chain of bubbles, as it were), Severus had grabbed your wrist. With incredible speed, he propelled you back up to the surface.
As soon as your head burst out of the water, your Bubble Head Charm disappeared. Severus, too, had timed whatever it was he had done perfectly, and the fish-like features disappeared as the two of you made your way to shore.
“What the hell were you thinking?” Severus griped, evidently deciding to celebrate his return to human form by berating you. “Grabbing a Fire Fern with your bare hand? Are you insane?”
“Well,” you sputtered, “I couldn’t tell which one was the Floating Fern, so I just went for it. I mean, how are you supposed to tell? And why the hell is it called a Floating Fern when it doesn’t float?”
“It does once it’s picked from its root.”
“Oh.” You fell silent for a moment. Then, you couldn’t resist asking, “What did you do that gave you gills and webbed fingers?”
“You didn’t learn anything in Potions, did you?”
“Honestly? No.”
Severus reached into his robe and pulled out a tiny bottle. You stepped closer and saw that it seemed to contain some seaweed-type plant.
“It’s Gillyweed. When consumed, it temporarily gives the user fish-like features, including the ability to breathe underwater,” Severus explained succinctly. “Anyways.” He put the bottle back into his robes. However, as his hand brushed across his chest, he grimaced.
You blinked. “Are you hurt?”
“You were thrashing about so wildly…”
You reached out with both of your hands and you gently pulled open Severus’ shirt, only to see the beginnings of what was clearly a bad bruise.
You let out a breath. “So, you bruise, too…”
Severus’ brow furrowed. “What kind-of an idiotic statement is that?”
“You bruise, too, like any other man.”
Severus’ eyes narrowed. “Do you not see the utter absurdity of you doubting that I am a man, when you are the oddity with fox ears coming out of your head?”
“Right…” you murmured. You reached out and hesitantly touched his chest, tracing the bruise with gentle fingers. You couldn’t quite explain, even to yourself, why it was surprising that Severus could be wounded, just like any other man. Perhaps it was because he always seemed so impenetrable. Of everyone you had ever met, Severus Snape presented himself as the most emotionless person you had ever met. It was as if he had no vulnerabilities. But now, seeing first-hand evidence that he, too, wounded like any other man, you marveled at how strictly he seemed to live.
Having had enough of you standing there and strangely tracing his bruise with your cold fingers, Severus reached up and snatched your wrist in his grip.
“Sorry,” you apologized weakly. “I didn’t realize…”  It wasn’t clear to either of you whether you were apologizing for having hurt him or for standing there, touching his chest so awkwardly.
“As I said before, you clearly have no control over yourself,” Severus chided you. He gazed down, first at your hands grasping his shirt lapels open, then at your eyes, which were staring up at him, and then those twitching fox ears on top of your head.
“Well, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised,” Severus continued. His voice dropped into a velvet-like tone. “Running headlong towards a spirit and letting them take possession of you. Anyone with a brain capable of the merest hesitation would know better than that. And now look at you, desperate for my help…”
Pride irked, you said staunchly, “I’m not desperate for anything.”
“Then why did you swim down into the very depths of the Black Lake to find a fern you couldn’t even identify?
You scowled, unable to come up with a good comeback.
Watching you, Severus shook his head. “How on earth did a girl like you manage to find the Nine-Tailed Fox?”
You grimaced, half at his insulting statement and half because the burn on your hand was smarting up again. You held your hand up to examine it. Your palm was all puffy, shiny, and red – a trademark burn.
Severus reached out and grabbed your hand in his. Something cold, wet, and slimy squished between your hands.
“What’re you -? That feels gross!”
“Gillyweed also has healing effects when treating a burn,” Severus informed you.
Sure enough, your burnt palm began to feel much better, but the way that his fingers were wrapped around yours now…
Your ears twitched again. You breathed out, a bit nervously, “Um…”
Severus’ eyes flickered up to meets yours. They were such a dark shade – a true black. You swallowed hard. You found him entirely unreadable. Your fox ears twitched softly.
“Stop that nonsense.”
“Huh?” Your ears began to twitch even more furiously.
“Stop that. You look ridiculous,” Severus told you.
The Fox let out a snicker, not buying Severus’ lie.
Unfortunately for you, Severus somehow heard the Fox’s snicker.  Scowling, he reached out and grabbed your fox ears, meaning to still them himself.
“Ah!” You slapped his hands away and stumbled backwards, woozy. “What d’you think you’re doing? Hands off!”
Severus stared at you in surprise. “Is it truly so intense?”
“Yes,” you responded through gritted teeth. “It is. So, you keep your hands away.”
Severus stepped closer to you, however. In a condescending voice, he suggested, “Well, if it’s so sensitive, perhaps a few tugs of those ridiculous ears will do the trick.”
“You leave my ears well alone,” you told him. Unfortunately for you, the sudden burst of electricity you’d felt from when he had tugged your ears had reached your cheeks, tinging them a soft pink.
Severus studied you for a moment longer. Catching the blush on your face, he instructed you, “Perhaps my suggestion was not so far off the mark. Come here.”
“Don’t touch my ears.”
“I said, come here.”
“Don’t touch my ears.”
The Fox was fully laughing in your head, rolling around in the very depths of your soul in a most undignified manner.
You stop that, you seethed at her. You’re making my soul into your playground.
And what’s wrong with that? The Fox asked innocently, batting her eyelashes at you.
I was destined for noble things, you countered, a bit sadly.
Oh, let go of such notions, the Fox sighed. You don’t want nobility. You want release.
Now. The Fox gave you a little shove once again. Go forth. Unless you want my tails to show up, too.
Severus caught you. You looked up at him, eyes wary and full of dislike for him. Catching your expression, Severus’ mouth curled up in an unpleasant manner. “You’re not even grateful for my help.”
“Course I am,” you replied quickly. “I’m very thankful for your help. I’m just not thankful for you – What are you? Ah!”
While you were speaking, Severus had reached up, grasped the back of your neck, and turned your head up, towards him, as if he made to kiss you.  Then, quicker than in a blink of an eye, Severus’ hands snuck up. He wrapped his hands around your fox ears and positively yanked at them.
You choked from the sudden intake of air that you instinctively took. “Y-You bastard!” you coughed out. “I told you - !”
Severus used his arms to push your face into his chest, to shush you. Meanwhile, he kept tugging and yanking meanly at your ears, gripping at the soft little shapes.
You were moaning and gasping with each little tug and yank, and you were pushing at him desperately to try to get some space between the two of you.
Finally, Severus slid his fingers around the base of your ears. Tugging at them, he forced your head up.
“Severus!” you cried out, cheeks pink and hair matted to your forehead. “You’re such a -!”
He kissed you fiercely, fiercely enough that you suddenly felt his hard, sturdy body pushing against yours. Your breath escaped you as your hips met, with a soft little “uhn,” coming out of your mouth.
“What did I say about those ridiculous noises you make?” Severus reminded you.
“But I barely made a sound!”
It didn’t seem to matter, anyways, as Severus had already kissed you again. There was something frantic about the two of you in this moment. Rough and frantic – and yet, paradoxically, it felt slow, too. Perhaps it was because Severus was such a purposeful man. You could sense the intent behind each and every one of his actions.
First, the way his hands gripped your neck so tightly, forcing you to tilt your head up for him so that he could kiss you as rough as he wanted meant that it only took a few minutes before your mind was spinning dizzily. Still, you were cognizant enough to be able to note, rather breathlessly, “You’re better this time.”
Severus merely snorted at your comment. Then, his hands came down to trace your form because he wrapped his arms around you. His embrace too, seemed to happen quite slowly, with his arms gradually tightening around you. But once he had you in his embrace, you felt that he nearly suffocated you, what with your chest pressing up against his so tightly.
You barely managed to slip your hands down his front. Still, with your fingertips, you clutched onto the zipper of his trousers.
Suddenly, Severus pulled away from you. “Have you lost your mind?” he hissed. “We’re out on the castle grounds. Anyone can walk by at any moment.”
“You kissed me first!”
The Fox suddenly stopped you. She pressed her snout lightly against your chest. Don’t waste your time arguing now. You know what to do, little one.
Before you knew, you had changed tactics. Leaned in, you whispered sweetly to Severus, “Fine, then take me away. Take me somewhere where no one will find us, where no one will see or hear us, no matter what you do to me.”
But Severus merely arched his eyebrow questioningly at you. “I hardly think what I wish is the issue here. Rather, what does that Fox inside of you plan to do to me?”
“She won’t eat you,” you promised. “She doesn’t intend to hurt you.”
No, no, the Fox agreed. A sly smile perked up her snout as she whispered deviously, But we can use our mouth in other ways, can’t we?
You shush, you told her.
My, my, aren’t you sounding just like him? the Fox laughed brightly at you.
Meanwhile, Severus had finally made up his mind.
*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *
Severus led you up to his room, hoping to satisfy you quickly and then punt you out of his sight. However, upon entering the room, you realized that the lake water was drying into your robes and on your skin, plus your hand smelled of gillyweed.
Before Severus could fully protest, you’d stripped off all of your clothes and made it into his shower. Severus let out a few choice curse words when he heard the sound of the shower turning on.
You certainly took your time in there, too, or so Severus thought. By the time you were out of the shower, with a large towel wrapped snugly around your body and another piled on top of your head, he was fuming.
“What are you doing?” he hissed. “Why didn’t you use your own damn shower?”
“I dunno.” You shrugged. “Yours was closer.”
You pulled the towel off of your head.
Severus blinked. “The fox ears haven’t gone away.”
“Well, no,” you agreed. “It’s not like I can scrub them off.”
Behind his back, Severus’ hands were clenched together. His chest rose, and then stopped, as he held his breath for a moment. For some reason, his pants felt awfully tight. And, unless he was dreaming, there was frost creeping the edges of his vision, until his peripheral vision was altogether gone, and all he could see was you, standing in front of his mirror as you did your best to dry your hair – your long, silver hair.
“What are you?” Severus asked desperately. “Some phantom? A ghost?”
“No,” you replied calmly, as you slowly opened the front of your towel. You knew, or rather, the Fox knew that Severus could see you in the mirror. Without dropping the towel, but merely holding it open, you turned your head and looked back at Severus. Blinking softly, you murmured, “You already know – I’m a fox spirit.”
Severus was beginning to lose his usually unwavering sense of control, of focus… In a voice most unlike himself, he asked, “If – That is, should I give you what you want” – Severus swallowed – “will you leave me be?”
You dropped your towel. “It’s not about that, though, is it? The question is not whether I’ll leave you be, or whether you want me to come back. Not at all. We’re far past that. The question for us is: How do you want me?”
Severus had fallen utterly silent as your words, promising so much and yet far too late, washed over him. Without meaning to, his eyes followed your curves up and down, then back up and back down again.
Don’t turn around, Severus begged you in his head. I can hardly think straight as it is. What’s come over me?
You started to turn, oblivious (or perhaps all too aware) of Severus’ thoughts.
Severus suddenly rushed forward, and he pushed you rather forcefully up onto the mirror in front of you.
You abruptly stiffened as you felt the cold glass pressed up all down your front. “Severus!” you choked out. “It’s c-cold!”
“Hush!” Severus growled into your ear accusingly. “You’re a blasted nymph! You seduce men based on their fantasies to have them as you will. But once you’ve made use of them, you leave them to die, don’t you?”
If that were true, would I have possessed this silly girl?
You and Severus both stiffened, as the Fox abandoned her guise in you for a moment to speak directly to Severus.
Your own voice, too, returned to you just enough for you to mention, “Um, S-Sev? I can’t breathe.”
Severus hastily lowered his arm. You fell back on your feet. Then, you finally turned around, facing him.
Severus did not hide the fact that he was devouring your shape with his eyes. His black eyes glittered with want.
You shivered. “Y’know, I am a bit cold, standing like this.”
You started to step past him to grab your clothes, when Severus grabbed your shoulder and held you there, before him. Startled, you felt his name slip from your lips. “Severus?”
“Lie down on the bed.”
“What?”
“Go,” he commanded, releasing you. “Lie down on my bed.”
You slowly walked over to his bed. Hesitating, you glanced over your shoulder at Severus. He remained perfectly still, simply watching you. You slid forward, letting your palms slide over his sheets until you were lying down atop his bed. You blinked as an unexpectedly warm scent of basil and sage washed over you.
Behind you, Severus was still standing there. Unbeknownst to you, a crisis was unfolding in his head. On the one hand, he hated the idea that he was falling for the Fox’s wiles, and that he was being tempted by you. Though he never wished for you to bully you, he couldn’t help but feeling condescending towards you the same way he did with Dumbledore – this talk of myths and fairytales confused and frustrated him. Severus thought you a silly little thing for chasing after the Nine-Tailed Fox. Though, he had to admit that you were right that the Fox existed, after all. And Severus was rather impressed that you’d actually found the Fox. Still, he didn’t want to fall into the same trap that you had seemingly fallen into – where the Fox was using you for its needs.
Finally, Severus came to the bed. His hands came down on the sheets on either side of your head. He leaned down and whispered fiercely in your ear, “I will give you the release you want, if only to help this girl you’ve ensnared with your mind tricks. But I will never make love to you,” he whispered. “Do you understand me, you slippery Fox? I have no intention whatsoever of being your prey. I will keep my soul intact.”
The Fox whispered back, You’re very strong of mind, Severus Snape. No wonder your Legilimency skills are so formidable. But as you felt, I can slip right through them.
“Will you trick me with your illusions, then?” Severus asked, in a low, defensive growl.
No, I respect your decision. But give us enough to carry on, won’t you? We’re hungry. As are you.
You blinked as you felt your hips rising, not of your own accord, until you’d gently pressed your ass up against Severus, who was still leaning over you.
“No.” Severus pressed down on the small of your back roughly, pushing you back down flat against the bed. A soft breath left you as your hips pressed back into the sheets.
No?
Severus’ hand slipped to your side, but instead of slipping off of you, he kept his hand on your waist – in fact, he was clutching at you rather rightly.
“You think that I suffer from hunger?” he challenged the Fox, unwilling to simply give in.
Yes. You’re starved of affection. Your strength comes at the price of a terrible loneliness. I can see that. For the time being, I can fill that void for you, if you just…
You once again softly lifted your hips and you waved your hips back and forth in the air, brushing your bare ass past the front of his pants.
“Be still, you,” Severus growled at you. He suddenly gave your ass a sharp spank, making you yelp softly in surprise.
Then, a growl of your own (not of the Fox’s volition) rose into the air. You turned around on the bed, thought still underneath Severus, and you prodded your finger angrily into his chest. “She’s not the only one you need to appease,” you warned Severus, and by ‘she,’ you were referring to the Nine-Tailed Fox. “I’m not just some girl the Fox took advantage of. I’m a witch, and I’m more than capable of stringing you up in your own sheets and leaving you here to dry, like all of those gross herbs you use in Potions.”
Severus rolled his eyes at your lame threat.
You hated when you weren’t taken seriously. “Or I can hex off and grind up your horn for you,” you carried on, eyes narrowed into slits. “I’m sure it would fetch a few Sickles on the black market, though it obviously wouldn’t be worth nearly as much as unicorn horn powder.”
“I’m surprised and relieved that you know the name of at least one Potion ingredient,” Severus retorted dryly.
You grabbed a fistful of Severus’ robes and dragged him down on top of you. “Listen here, you little shit,” you whispered angrily. “Fox or not, I’ll leave right now if you – Ah!” You gasped as you felt a sudden warmth flash between your thighs, as you dragging Severus down meant that suddenly, his hips were flush against your thighs, and the front of his pants pressing down, rather heavily, against your… your… You swallowed hard.
“If I what?” Severus whispered back meanly. “Didn’t you ever learn to finish your sentences?”
Too dazed to reply, you simply blinked as you let go of the front of Severus’ robes.
Severus immediately sat up. He frowned as he flattened out the front of his robes, trying to rid it of the wrinkles your little fist had just made there. He glanced down at you, only to find you staring at him… or rather, at a very specific bulge straining the front of his pants. Apparently, you hadn’t been the only one to feel that flash of heat run through your body.
Severus flushed. Reaching down quickly to cover himself, he muttered, “Turn around. I prefer not to see your face.”
Your nose crinkled. “That’s rather mean, you know.”
Severus sighed. In one swift motion, he flipped you over on his bed. Then, he sat firmly atop the back of your thighs, trapping you in place.
The Fox snickered in your head.
Having fun, are we? you asked her, irritated.
Severus Snape is quite an interesting person, the Fox murmured, mostly thinking to herself. In fact, yes, I rather think…
You think what?
But you never got to hear the Fox’s reply, for you suddenly felt something warm and thick slip over the curve of your ass.
You paused. “What are you doing?”
“Shush.”
You tried to lift yourself up onto your elbows, but Severus reached over and pushed you back down onto the bed.
You immediately sprung up again, though, and you quickly turned your head back to look at what he was doing.
That curiosity, Severus thought distastefully, frowning down at you. She can’t even help herself, can she?
He saw your eyes widen. Severus had pulled his cock out of his trousers and now had his cock resting on top of your pert little ass.
“What?” he asked curtly.
“N-Nothing.” You quickly looked away again. In fact, you were rather shocked by how large and thick Severus’ cock was. You were sure that if he were flip you over and measure your cock against your body, it would go all the way up into your tummy.
“What are you going to do?” you asked, now with anticipation bubbling up inside of you.
Severus merely said, “I won’t enter you without your consent. You have my word.”
“O-Okay.” You paused. “But that wasn’t my question.”
However, Severus didn’t have to explain anything to you. For, only a moment later, he had reached down to grasp your ass. Squeezing your firm, curvy ass cheeks together, he started to run the length of his cock up and down against the pretty line between your cheeks.
Severus groaned, appreciating how very perky and right your ass was. He leaned forward a little, so that the tip of his cock nearly slipped between your ass cheeks with each gentle and slow back-and-forth of his hips.
At first, honestly, the anticipation in your tummy simmered down as you realized that he was not about to give you his hard, thick cock the way you had hoped. You sighed quietly, thinking that this would do absolutely nothing for you. You didn’t really understand how this would do anything for Severus, either.
But then, of course, you couldn’t see yourself. You couldn’t even begin to imagine Severus’ view -  how seeing the way your soft thighs were gathered together, how the curve of your ass was quite pretty to him, and then how graceful the dip down to the small of your back, which seemed so very small and delicate to him, would affect him.
Severus, for his part, wondered if you realized that your hair had turned long and silver, pooling in beautiful ringlets atop his white sheets on either side of you. Then, there were damn fox ears on top of your head, giving little twitches any time you were feeling the least bit of pleasure.
Severus closed his eyes and he gave in to that feeling of wanting you, of needing you in some way that would make his hunger for you known. He began to work his hips against you, until his cock was becoming slick with pre-cum spreading all over your ass, and he began to push himself faster and faster, nearly snapping his hips forwards and back, as his cock kept brushing over and slipping against your ass.
Then, Severus groaned. He groaned – and your eyes blinked open and your ears perked up. Because, goodness, the depth of his voice was – was – well, it was something new and different, that was for sure.
You made to lift yourself onto your elbows again, wanting to see Severus, to match his intense voice with him. However, Severus felt you move under him. Without opening his eyes, he knew what you were up to, and therefore knew to instantly push you right back down against his sheets.
You let out a soft, frustrated moan. “Severus,” you pleaded with him. “Stop pushing me down. I just want to look at you…”
Severus ignored you, but his cock twitched when he heard you say his name so pleadingly. Her voice, he found himself thinking. Maybe she can put her mouth to other uses for me… That is, if that’s what she truly wants.
Meanwhile, you were growing more and more – not uncomfortable, but restless – as you were suddenly becoming aware of how very hot this position was, even if he wasn’t outright fucking you. For one, Severus’ groans were growing even heavier, and a soft, but quite deep growl, accompanied every one of his moans. You couldn’t help but feel your heart thrum in time to his moans. There was something so very entrancing about hearing someone like Severus start to give in to himself, and to lose control over the sounds coming from his own mouth. Then, there was the way Severus’ fingers were pressing into your ass as he held you down on the bed. There was also the way his thrusts were becoming heavier and rougher, making your hips bounce lightly against Severus’ bed. From there, it truly didn’t require much imagination to picture how your hips would be bouncing against the bed if he were fucking you instead. You swallowed at the mere thought of it, and you knew, without a doubt, that your pussy was starting to get wet, even without him touching you.
Besides that, Severus’ cock was only getting bigger, as he used your ass to pleasure himself, and you swore you could feel the veins and ridges of his cock. Must feel heavenly, you found yourself thinking. You closed your eyes and imagined taking him inside of your with little hole. Without realizing it, your mouth fell open and you started to drool a little. Mmm, you hummed in your head.
Just then, Severus’ cock throbbed against your ass, and you shivered. Severus let out a berating grunt, and a second later, you felt him, not just on top of you, but mounting you, so that you could feel the inside of his strong thighs squeezing against the outside of yours.
You buried your face against the sheets and moaned out hotly. Oh God, I didn’t think this would be so – so – uhn…
Severus was rubbing his cock all over your ass now, leaving a trail of his glistening cum along your ass. He was barely holding back, and the amount of self-control it took him to keep from pushing your legs apart and thrusting into you was incredible.
Now, to make things even harder for him, you were moaning for him, though you had hid your face in his sheets to try to muffle yourself. Besides that, your little body was shivering all over, and Severus almost felt pity for you. Almost.
Severus was sure that he was going to cum soon if you kept up your little display of moans. He hated how much your soft little noises disarmed him. Wanting to cum from fucking a woman’s pussy was one thing. But cumming at the mere sound of her moans – it was too much for Severus’ pride.
Severus spanked your ass roughly. Thankfully, you yelped loudly, and Severus used that as an excuse to scold you, “Shush. How many times do I have to say it?”
“I d-didn’t even s-say anything!” you blubbered out, barely lifting your head from the sheets.
Severus caught a glimpse of your flushed face, and he hurriedly looked away. Keep it together, he told himself in his head.
“You moan too breathily,” Severus told you meanly, though even he knew that he was spouting complete nonsense at this point.
“N-Nngh, you’re not being fair,” you half-argued and half-pleaded with him.
“I never said I would play f-fair,” Severus breathed out, his own voice catching at the end of his sentence. For he was close. Merlin, he was so close.
Unable to hold himself back, Severus ran his hands down the length of your back, pressing you into his bed. Your breath stuttered as your felt your breasts press against his sheets. But Severus’ hands went all the way up to your shoulders, and then he gripped you hard by your shoulders.
“Ah!” You let out a far louder gasp as Severus suddenly made you arch your back for him, for he was grasping your shoulders so tightly. Your head fell back, and your beautiful silver hair streamed down your back, only to pool at the small of your back.
Severus groaned. Having you arch like this for him, your ass lifted even higher, and your tummy all tight from being pulled into the position he wanted, Severus could feel your shoulders straining under his grasp, and he honestly loved it – loved having you like this, straining and squirming under him as he grinded his cock furiously against you.
“Oh God!” you breathed out harshly.
“Stay down,” Severus whispered harshly at you, with his jaw clenched tightly.
“I c-can’t stay down!” you moaned loudly. “You k-keep holding o-onto my shoulders – S-Sev! Ah!” You gasped in surprise as you felt Severus’ cock nearly slip between your thighs and brush right back your wet little cunt.
“Fuck!” Severus spat out. “That’s why I told you to stay still.”
“U-Uhn! I don’t care!” you burst out. “Sev, please just give it to - !” You blinked in shock as you realized what you’d nearly said. You hurriedly yanked at Severus’ sheets and bit down on the soft cloth, shutting yourself up. You closed your eyes and prayed that Severus had not caught on to what you’d nearly said to him.
It’s his fault, you thought, hiding from your own overwhelming sexual frustration. He nearly entered me. That would have surprised anyone. S’ not – S’ not that I w-want him – Uhn!
But a little part of you prayed that he’d just slip into you – any excuse to feel him fill you up, as you knew he undoubtedly would, just from feeling the way his cock slid against your ass. Feeling all that friction inside of me. Mmmm, fuck.
You didn’t realize when the sheets fell out of your mouth, and you started to just moan all open-mouthed, with your cheek pressed up against the sheet.
“Ah! Ah! Please… Uhn… Please!” you panted out nonsensically. “Please, won’t you just -? P-Please, can I -?”
“Can you what? Stop mumbling nonsense,” Severus scolded you, though it was clear by the panting rippling throughout his own voice that he wasn’t quite in control of himself either.
“M-May I -?”
“You’re not making the least bit of s-sense – Uhn,” Severus groaned deeply as he continued to fuck his cock between your ass cheeks. He grunted in appreciation, feeling how your thighs were shivering like crazy underneath him right now.
Unable to hold back any longer, you lifted your hips off the bed. Severus, who had already thrust himself forward one finally time, exhaled sharply when his cock suddenly pushed up right against your tight little pussyhole. He felt you, pulsing all wetly against the tip of his cock.
Oh, shit, Severus cursed in his head. He held still for a split second, trying in vain to keep control of himself.
But it was a lost cause. Severus’ eyes rolled back in his head for a brief moment. His hands suddenly fumbled all over your ass until he managed to grab your hips. He very nearly thrust his hips forward just then, out of pure instinct and want, but that voice of self-control, so prevalent in his genius mind, reminded him that he needed to ask for your consent first and besides, he didn’t want to see himself get tricked by that damn Fox.
Instead, Severus abruptly pushed himself off of you, but not before accidentally cumming all over you.
“Shit – Fuck - ” Severus bleated out in desperate grunts, as he felt himself cum despite his best efforts not to.
You gasped when Severus came – all over your little pussyhole and asshole, without even having been inside you. His thick, white, hot cum spurted all over your ass and cunt, until you were positively dripping with him.
Stunned, you whimpered as you clutched onto the sheets, suddenly realizing how close the two of you had been to actually fucking and perhaps even making a baby.
“S-Sev!” you whisper-yelled in a hushed voice. “H-How could you -?”
Severus stared in total shock at how much cum he’d managed to cover you with. And even now, he could barely resist reaching forward to slap your cum-covered ass and to push his cum dripping off of your sweet pussy lips right into that tight pussyhole of yours… To fill you with him… What could be more enticing than this vision of you, already covered with him?
You immediately reached over to grab your wand, intending to perform the usual pregnancy prevention spells on yourself. As you started to get up on your hands and knees, however, Severus watched his cum slowly drip down the back of your legs.
Severus’ hands clenched into fists. He could just imagine how intense it might feel if he were to have you the way he wished – to drive his cock over and over again into your flushed little pussy. And he could do it too, he knew he could, if you would just give him a minute to become hard again you for. Severus wondered what kind-of sounds he might push out of that cute mouth of yours if he were to actually take you…
But now he was watching you crawl over his bed, reaching for your wand to clean yourself up. And something in Severus made him feel quite guilty. He wasn’t sure what it was, but…
Fuck, I can’t just let her go like this, can I? Severus found himself thinking. He sighed, for it was not a happy thought. Damn it.
To your surprise, just before you could reach your wand, you felt a warm pair of hands grasp your thighs, trapping you softly against the bed.
“Severus?”
Severus slowly lowered himself on the bed, and then he nudged his face between your thighs. He then blew softly on your pussy.
You stiffened when you felt a warm breath passed over your already wet pussy. Oh… Are we – Are we continuing?
The Fox leapt up hopefully in your chest. Push him. We want more, love, she whispered fervently. Ask him to take you all the way. Entice him. Now!
“Wait, don’t d-do that,” you mumbled. You tried to untangle your legs from his grasp, to scoot away, but Severus held you in place.
He did stop, however, to check on you. “Why? Am I making you uncomfortable? I simply wish to taste you. Just once.”
“Well, no, I mean, yes, I mean – I mean - ” Struggling to express yourself, you merely dropped back down on the bed and looked over your shoulder at him alluringly. “Don’t just tease me like that. If you’re going to taste me, at least do it properly.”
You waved your hips a little in the air as you whispered, “Kiss my pussy. Tongue me. Make me cum on your mouth.”
Severus stared at you, mesmerized, and you stared back at him, with a look of intense surprise, flickering with such want, glittering in your silver eyes.
Severus blinked. Silver eyes? All at once, he shook himself out of it.
Inside of you, you felt the Fox whisper, Ah, so I was right. Damn, then I’ve overplayed my hand.
Huh? Right about what? you asked, though a bit numbly, as you were still trying to process what had happened.
“Never mind,” Severus spoke up just then, unintentionally interrupting the conversation between you and your Fox.
“Hm?”
“Let me clean you up.”
“But, Severus, I thought we were going to -”
“No, we’re done here.”
Feeling let down, you pouted, but to no avail. Severus got up, and he went to the bathroom. He came back, with his pants already zipped back up and neatly belted. Then, with rather gruff and inexperienced hands, he made you lie on your back and spread your legs before he tried to clean you up.
You watched him, both feeling a bit nervous and also somewhat charmed by how bad he was. His thick fingers, so dominating when he was touching you to make you all wet, were clumsy as he tried to gently swipe the damp towel between your folds, to make sure you were clean.
Finally, you reached down and put your hand over his. “I’ll do it,” you whispered quietly.
“Hm?”
You took the towel from him. “Yeah, you’re bad at this, too,” you told him, not sparing his feelings.
Severus gave you a displeased sigh, probably the thousandth sigh for you at this point. He got up and walked away from you, letting you clean yourself up. He left you in peace as you finally performed the proper spells on yourself. When you got dressed, he was still nowhere to be seen.
Now, when you say good-bye, say it cutely. For you’ll be seeing him again soon, the Fox told you.
We won’t, you replied shortly. And he’s not even interested in me. He’s not even around. Probably went back to making Potions.
Having pulled on your robes, you gave yourself one last look in the mirror to make sure there weren’t any telltale signs of what you’d just been up to. You were pleased to note that your fox ears had disappeared, too.
You’d just opened the door, however, when Severus’ voice seemingly came out of nowhere, to ask you, “You’re leaving?”
You turned around. “Yes. I figured that now that I’ve gotten rid of those blasted fox ears, I should be on my way.”
Severus paused. He appeared to be choosing his words quite carefully. “Will they… appear again?”
You frowned. “I try my best to keep them at bay.”
“As you should.”
“Agreed.”
“And your hair is blue again…”
“Yes. Right.”
The two of you stood there for a beat longer.
Awkwardly, you murmured, “Well. Good-bye, then.”
Severus didn’t say anything.
With a soft shrug of your shoulders. you gave up entirely. You turned away and walked down the hallway, leaving Severus standing in his doorway.
Inside of you, the Fox gave you a little pat against your chest. That was exactly what I wanted you to do, she said, smiling. That was a cute good-bye.
Oh, shut it, you, you huffed. I don’t care if I see Severus Snape again. I don’t care for him at all.
But why not? Truth be told, he likes your natural energy better than he likes mine, the Fox informed you. He’s an interesting man, in that sense. He prefers what is real, evidently. He doesn’t take well to me at all. She sniffed a little, offended. Anyways, it doesn’t matter, as long as one of us can get the work done.
The work? You call this work? you said angrily. Seducing men like this is –
It’s work to me, the Fox replied straightforwardly. Only you think of it as… whatever your puny human brain is mistaking it for. The Fox let out a long, breathy sigh. You humans are always so tangled up in your own emotions and thoughts. Learn to breathe and to think of something other than yourself. Learn to dream a little.
At this, you abruptly came to a stop. A well of bitterness and anger suddenly rushed forward inside of your heart.
The Fox paused, startled. Why do I suddenly feel such dark energy coming from your soul? What are you thinking of, little one?
Your voice came out in a muted whisper inside of your head. You think I don’t know how to dream? You think I’m incapable of feeling for people and things that are beyond me?
That’s not what I meant. I simply meant that, compared to a mythical creature, your powers of imagination and breath of conceptualized thought are relatively underdeveloped…
You stopped listening to the Fox. Instead, you began to head for Ravenclaw Tower.
The Fox paused. Little one, where are you going?
Almost in a trance, you ducked inside the hidden archway, tailing off just before the staircase up to Ravenclaw Tower.
The Fox finally sat down on her haunches, and she quietly observed you.
You slowly crept up the stairs, marveling at how little puffs of dust swirled around your ankles with each step, because the dust indicated that time had, indeed, passed.
You lifted yourself up the hole in the floor and then –
You breathed out. It was still there - this secret spot of yours, one that housed memories from very long ago.
What is this place? the Fox wondered.
Close your eyes, you told the Fox.
My eyes are closed, the Fox replied quickly. I’m a spirit. I don’t use my vision the way you do –
Close your eyes, you repeated. Come join me in my memory.
The Fox obeyed you and closed her “eyes,” or rather, her external focus. Then, she gasped as your memory of the room the way it used to be – covered with book pages, newspaper clippings, and maps all dedicated to her history and whereabouts, and then a corner of the room filled with crumpled chocolate bar wrappers, tea cups, jazz records, and spools of knitting yarn - filled her vision.
You… You searched for me so. It was not a question, but a statement that the Fox spoke aloud. She sighed. I did sense it when you first came to me, but I was so desperate to escape that eternal winterland. When you came to me as naught but a hollow little thing, a bird laying itself out for prey, I couldn’t resist.
You were trapped, you acknowledged. It’s so ironic… That I once thought of you as freedom, you whispered bitterly in your head. You reached up and traced the wooden wall gently with your hands, remembering all of the parchment you’d once taped up here. Because you’re just…
I am not a parasite, the Fox thought angrily.
I never said you were.
You may have never said it to me, but I can hear your thoughts.
You didn’t reply.
You’re wrong, the Fox said coldly. I don’t just take energy. I give in return.
Having traced your way across the wall, your fingertips now slipped onto the cold glass of the window. You stared out the dusty window, out across the grounds of Hogwarts, as you thought aloud, It doesn’t matter, does it? You betrayed me. You, and Remus.
Neither of us betrayed you, the Fox whispered in your head. I am not not what you imagined me to be, but I told you – nothing alive can ever be free. And this man, Remus… It seems to me that you simply miss him. That you expected more. But can you honestly say that he promised you more than that?
A tear streaked down your cheek. Perhaps you’re right. But how can I help it if I miss Remus? How can I help it if I let you take advantage of me, when I so believed you were the form of courage and freedom that I best liked? I regret it all now, but how can I regret what I once believed, when I put everything I had into making my belief a reality?
You were crying in earnest now. I know I was foolish. Of course you aren’t what I thought you would be. Of course you don’t care about my heart. And of course Remus didn’t want me, either.
But was it so wrong to love him? And was it so wrong to have wanted to see you? I don’t understand what I did that was so wrong. Maybe it doesn’t matter, maybe you don’t care, but I tried really, really hard, in my own way, to reach you both…
You fell to your knees and curling up into a ball, you sobbed into your arms.
The Fox remained silent. She felt your heart caving in on itself. In fact, a new space opened up for her in your soul, one which if she took control over (which she easily could), she would be able to control you even more effectively. But for once, she stayed herself. While the Fox did not believe that she had betrayed you in any respected, still, she felt a deep pity for you.
The Fox sighed. Little bird. You cannot offer yourself to the world so willingly, and then be surprised when you are devoured. The world is darker than you think. Even this man you loved – Remus, was it? – from the memories I can make out in your head, I don’t believe that he was what you saw him as.
He was a good man. I know it.
Yes, I see that. I am not arguing with you on that point. I’m merely saying – perhaps a ‘good man’ wasn’t the only identity he had.
What do you mean?
But the Fox wouldn’t say anymore. It’s not important, anyways, she told you. What is important is that we heal your heart.
You paused, confused. Won’t that force you out? Didn’t you say that you live in the hollowness of my heart?
The Fox nodded her head.
But then, if I heal, and my heart isn’t hollow anymore – where will you go?
The Fox spoke in a quiet murmur to you, Little one, don’t you get it? You’re not the only one exhausted by life. I have lived neigh nine hundred years now. I no longer wish to live.
You - ?
Yes, the Fox said quietly. You, too, are my last wish, for I hope to die soon. There is nothing in all of eternity or heaven that I wish for. I’m tired. So tired, you can’t even imagine, little one. That is why I followed you out into the concrete world, where time can touch even the spirits. I wish to die.

A Spark in Search of a Powderkeg
Rebellion is its own justification, completely independent of the chance it has to modify the state of affairs that gives rise to it. It’s a spark in the wind, but a spark in search of a powder keg.
André Breton
If only one thing has brought me joy in the last few weeks, it began when the matriarchs at Unist’ot’en burned the Canadian flag and declared reconciliation is dead. Like wildfire, it swept through the hearts of youth across the territories. Reconciliation was a distraction, a way for them to dangle a carrot in front of us and trick us into behaving. Do we not have a right to the land stolen from our ancestors? It’s time to shut everything the fuck down!
Tawinikay (aka Southern Wind Woman)
The toxic cargo carried in Canadian pipelines, whether it be tar sands oil or fracked liquid natural gas (LNG), is, according to all serious climate scientists, a major, perhaps even decisive contribution to global warming, i.e. ecological catastrophe.   Meant to fuel industrial expansion, the pipelines have themselves become fuel for revolt. Designed to move these dirty fossil fuels from one location to another, they are a crucial element in normalizing the dubious paradise of unlimited growth in awe of which all obedient consumer/citizens are supposed to genuflect. In what the colonial mapmakers have called British Columbia (BC), resource extraction has always been the name of the game. However, the emergence in February of this year of a widespread oppositional network ranging from “land back” Indigenous warriors to elder traditionalists and from Extinction Rebellion activists to anarchist insurrectionaries was heartening. Railways, highways and ferries were blockaded, provincial legislatures, government administrative offices, banks and corporate headquarters were occupied. The catalyst for this rebellion was a widespread Indigenous uprising that refused the illusory promises of reconciliation. Together, these rebel forces disrupted business as usual in solidarity with the Unist’ot’en Big Frog clan of the Wet’suwet’en tribal house.
As objective chance would have it, the primary Indigenous land defense camp is situated not far from the same Hazelton, B.C. area to which surrealist Kurt Seligmann and his wife Arlette had journeyed in 1938. During that time, they visited Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en villages, marveled at the imaginative power of the totem poles and ceremonial objects, made field notes, shot 16mm film, collected stories and recorded mythic histories. Now, in 2020, growing numbers of these same Indigenous peoples have been threatening to bring the Canadian economy to a grinding halt. Unwilling to be bought off by corporate petrodollars or mollified by a legal system that has never done anything but pacify, brutalize, or betray them in the process of stealing their land, Indigenous peoples passionately fought back against the forces of colonial law and order in a radical whirlwind of willful disobedience and social disruption. One action built upon another in creating a rolling momentum that seemed unstoppable. When one railroad blockade would be busted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), another would spring up in its place elsewhere extending the frontlines of the battle all across the continent. Then the debilitating Covid-19 virus arrived to compound the damage that had previously been done to the capitalist economy by the incendiary virus of revolt. The resistance of these Indigenous communities against the pipelines concerns all of us, worldwide, since they are on the front lines of the struggle to prevent cataclysmic climate change.
In the future, a key question will be whether Canadian authorities can successfully put the genie of Indigenous rebellion back in the colonial bottle of “reconciliation”. As surrealists, we hope they will not, and we stand in solidarity with the unreconciled insurgent spirit of defiant Indigenous resistance. A new reality is to be invented and lived instead of the one that today as yesterday imposes its environmental miserabilism and its colonialist and racist hierarchies.  As surrealists, we honor our historical affinity with the Kwakwaka’wakw Peace Dance headdress that for so long had occupied a place of reverence in André Breton’s study during his lifetime before being ceremoniously returned in 2003 to Alert Bay on Cormorant Island by his daughter, Aube Elléouet, in keeping with her father’s wishes. With this former correspondence in mind, we presently assert that our ongoing desire to manifest the emancipation of the human community as distinctively undertaken in the surrealist domain of intervention is in perfect harmony with the fight of the Indigenous communities of the Americas against globalized Western Civilisation and its ecocidal folly.

Postscript: During the process of gathering signatures for the above declaration, we were inspired to see its uncompromising stance against white supremacy and police repression reflected in the brightly sparkling flames of the Minneapolis uprising that lit a powder keg of pent-up rage and incited an earth-shaking eruption of spontaneous rebellion in the streets of America. It was only fitting that in solidarity with the uprising about police brutality kicked off by George Floyd’s execution/lynching at the hands of the police, anti-racism protestors in the United States would take direct action by beheading or bringing down statues of Christopher Columbus, genocidal symbol of the colonial expropriation of Native American lands.

Since people have different methods of showing their emotions, I like thinking of how my OCs would show certain emotions. It's kind of a shame that people think everyone kinda defaults to displaying different emotions as the way those emotions are shown are as different as people. So how would my OCs portray peak anger?
Soleil has what I call 'teary anger'. His anger often comes from frustration or from the mistreatment of someone he cares about a lot. It's anger cocktailed with sadness and frustration. Once the anger and frustration have been burnt out, he's left with only sadness.
Natane's type of anger is like a raging fire: it's big, it's loud, and it's next to impossible to put out once it gets started. When she reaches the maximum level of anger, her voice turns to shouts and the way she incidentally draws a crowd can make it where the subject of her anger has no escape until her fury is fully spent. No physical harm is done, but the verbal thrashing she puts you through will make it feel like someone just made you play tag with them while they were chasing you with a red-hot poker.
And Mars? Oooh boy, this is the member of the group that if you fully piss him off... the results won't be pretty, that's for sure. His type of anger is him going full-fledged unhinged villain. If you want to know just what kind I'm entailing, then take a good listen to Thermodynamic Lawyer (<-- link to a lyrics video) or Rattlesnake by Kabaret Sybarit or Wasted Wonderland and Lunatic by Myuu.
A pair of sharp, pale green eyes with an almost serpentine or fox-like shape to them void of light or sanity. Strangely, the arched up eyebrows and creasing of the eyes suggested a sort of giddiness or excitement. A toothy grin showing all teeth sharper than normal, an occasional giggle coming from behind those pearly whites that had been decorated in red every now and then, though that little tidbit was unknown to the person that would next be devoured by them. The ever slight blush dusting his cheeks made it seem like he was on a high of some sort, but his movements said otherwise.
His stride was void of stumbling or uncertainty, with each footstep sure and deliberate. There was a sort of slowness that wasn't accidental, but there to instill a sort of fear. It was only those with cowardice who ran in, hoping the speed would catch their target off guard. That gaunt face of his - jutting cheekbones and seemingly hollow cheeks with a sharp jawline - only added to the fear felt. If a person with the kind of face you'd expect on a starving man could move with such sureness and calculated purpose, then fear was indeed an appropriate response.
"My hearing is on the better side of things, you know. That means I can hear every beat of that heart of yours, and with how much its pounding it seems like it wants to pop out of your chest." He laughed a bit as he told them with a sickly sweet voice and a smile equal in such properties, cupping their face. "I could help speed up that process, though with what you've done... No, no, no! You can't have such a reward yet! No grandeur without grit!"
He pinned them by the throat, hands struggling to claw away at that of their captor's. It seemed to only entice him more. "Just like that! Struggle and squirm, then give way to screams. I know a place where you can scream your heart out and no one but me will hear." He got merely an inch or two away from their face, eyes brimming with excitement and anticipation and a grin stretching his face and showing those horrid teeth. "Come along now, we've got plenty of work ahead for the two of us. Well, a lot for me. But for you?"
They felt like they were starting to black out, but heard something quite frightening.
"Just sit there pretty and sing, canary. After all, cats love playing with their food. And this one's gonna tear you to itsy-bitsy pieces but still keep ya kicking!"

pairing: natan warnings: sfw, death mention word count: 337 notes: for @natanweek day 5 — distortion/clarity
“If our love's insanity why are you my clarity?” —Clarity, Zedd ft. Foxes
By all means, she shouldn’t love him. Being with him has been endlessly dangerous for her, but she was endlessly reckless to match.
No matter what obstacles lay in front of them, she was ready to tackle them, as long as he was by her side. As long as she had something to believe in, to fight for, she was invincible.
Or, at least, she thought she was. Her frequent visits to the hospital had proved her wrong.
Her death had proved them both wrong.
But it’s there, by the musty hotel bedside with her lifeless body, that his eyes are finally opened.
If he didn’t know what he wanted before, he does now, it’s all laid out before him in limp hair and closed eyes and cold skin.
He wants her. He wants her alive and by his side. He wants her smiles and her laughter and he’ll even take her tears as long as she’s alive. There is nothing in this world or the next he wouldn’t give up to bring her back.
He feels it in the throbbing, burning gashes on his back as he lays in a pool of his own oozing blood, waiting for her to wake up. There’s sorrow for his loss, but there’s no regret.
He’d give them up again if it meant watching her eyes open once more, and if he wasn’t already on the ground his knees would have given out in relief.
And it’s there, on the hard warehouse floor with her alive and well, that he’s uncomfortably acquainted with shitshow that was their relationship.
By all means, she shouldn’t love him. She died because of him. But she does, and he loves her back, and he would go to the ends of the earth to keep her with him.
It’s insane, by all accounts, but he’s never seen so clearly before her.
With everything on the line, he would choose her. Every time.

Ben 10: College football prospects to watch in Week 6
Bryce Torneden, S #1, Kansas (v. West Virginia, Saturday, 12 PM EST, ESPN2)
Kansas football players rarely garner draft hype, but the Jayhawks have a burgeoning star this year in Bryce Torneden. The junior safety has been a stalwart on the back end and his services will be in dire need against West Virginia’s high powered passing attack. Kansas is unlikely to upset the number nine ranked team in the country, but strong play by Torneden could propel him into the draft discussion. - Natan
Marquise Brown, WR #5, Oklahoma (v. Texas, Saturday, 12 PM EST, FOX)
The Red River Rivalry is one of this weekend’s most highly anticipated games. The game is no doubt going to be a high scoring affair between two top 20 teams. Marquise Brown is Oklahoma’s headlining playmaker on offense, outside of Kyler Murray of course. The speedy pass catcher has over 500 yards through the air and Texas’ tough defense will be his biggest challenge yet. - Natan
Darnell Savage, S #4, Maryland (v. Michigan, Saturday, 12 PM EST, ABC)
Excited to see what Savage does against Michigan, man. Folks have been pumpin’ Savage up as a potential nickelback/safety hybrid player, which is interesting to me. I enjoyed watching Savage fly to the football against Texas in Week 1 when I was at FedExField, but I was more impressed with teammate Antoine Brooks Jr., and his ability as a potential safety/nickel player. My eyes will be in the Maryland backfield all game — corner Tino Ellis also has some traits.
Jachai Polite, EDGE #99, Florida (v. LSU, Saturday, 3:30 PM EST, CBS)
Polite was a rumble-y sort of player — might be good, probably isn’t there yet — coming into the season. Then, before his battle with a good offensive line in Mississippi State, some buzz started to grow louder: “Man, Polite’s having a good season, isn’t he?”
Then the Bulldogs game — and wow, Polite put on a clinic. He’s officially on the bulletin board as a riser to watch, and facing an uber-physical team in LSU is a great way to string together two impact performances for NFL scouts.
Evan Worthington, S #6, Colorado (v. Arizona State, Saturday, 4 PM EST, PAC12 Network)
Colorado’s offense has caught a ton of the buzz thus far into their surprisingly strong season — but I have eyes on a couple players on the defensive side of the football in a big match-up against a good Arizona State team. Worthington is the first — he’s a rangy safety with really nice size and length who moves surprisingly well in space considering his frame. I’m not sure he’s a true cover man, but he offers some interchangeable traits that make him an interesting NFL piece for sure.
Drew Lewis, LB #20, Colorado (v. Arizona State, Saturday, 4 PM EST, PAC12 Network)
Lewis is the other player that really intrigues me on this Colorado defense. He’s one of Feldman’s freaks from the offseason — at 230, he power cleans 355, hits 1.50 in the 10-yard split, and broad jumps over 10’. That athleticism shows up on film: Lewis is super bursty into the contact point as a tackler, and is a good cover man in space as well. I’ll be interested to see how he handles physicality — Arizona State really wants to steamroll you with the running game.
Tyrel Dodson, LB #25, Texas A&M (v. Kentucky, Saturday, 7 PM EST, ESPN)
Dodson was in the news cycle last week for...less than great reasons. Not his fault: he was the player Jimbo Fisher shook by the facemask last week. Woof.
But Dodson is a good player in his own right — he’s a very intelligent backer when he’s lined up off-ball, and he brings a nice brand of physicality when the Aggies drop him down to the line as a SAM rusher. I think his brand of football translates really nicely to handling this Kentucky offensive line, and I expect a good game from him.
Josh Allen, EDGE #41, Kentucky (v. Texas A&M, Saturday, 7 PM EST, ESPN)
Kentucky has been a pleasant surprise this year and pass rusher Josh Allen has been a catalyst for the Wildcats on defense. Allen has a staunch test this weekend against Texas A&M and their explosive offense. Allen’s blend of pass rushing and run stopping prowess will be put to task against a balanced Aggies gameplan. - Natan
Jonathan Abram, Safety, Mississippi State (v. Auburn, Saturday, 7:30 PM EST, ESPN2)
The Bulldogs defense has star power in their front seven, but that shine has overpowered the performance of safety Jonathan Abram. The versatile playmaker has been a quiet stud in Starkville and will have a tremendous match up against Jarrett Stidham and the Auburn Tigers. Auburn will try to push the ball downfield all night, giving Abrams plenty of chances to make memorable moments for NFL evaluators. - Natan
Bryce Love, Running Back, Stanford (v. Utah, Saturday, 10:30 PM EST, ESPN)
Bryce Love was a preseason Heisman favorite but has struggled to meet stratospheric expectations. After a 2,000 yard rushing campaign in 2017, the senior back is averaging a modest 4.2 yards per carry early this season. Against Utah, Love has a great opportunity to make up for lost time and feast on a vulnerable defense. He’s fallen out of favor with Heisman voters and draft analysts, but Love is still very much a talented player and he’s due for a big performance. - Natan
