The air is heavy with the smell of death. It’s inescapable, in every corner, and worse with every body taken out of the ground.
Every time they dig, they find more corpses, sometimes in places they never expect. Sometimes they only find parts of a person, or a corpse decomposed beyond recognition.
According to the Gaza government media office, some bodies were found decapitated, or had their skin and organs removed. Children, elderly women and young men are said to be among the dead.
Rescue workers say they found bodies with their hands tied behind their backs, which the UN human rights office said “indicates serious violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law”.
Israel denies it buried the Palestinian bodies, claiming instead that it had “respectfully” exhumed the dead searching for Israeli captives.
There are so many tears at Nasser hospital today and so much pain. It’s hard for me to find the words to describe this scene.
The feeling of seeing someone find their relative is indescribable, the way mothers cover their dead sons in a shroud and accompany them to the cemeteries.
Every sight we capture as journalists we do so silently. We can’t speak, we cry blood as we film. Our hands are shaking so much our cameras lose focus. But we start over and try again.

Over recent days, he has been documenting mass graves uncovered in Nasser hospital, where more than 300 bodies have been discovered since Israeli forces withdrew. On Monday, his video of a woman in grey holding the recently uncovered body of her son spread across social media. This is his descriptions of the scenes at Nasser hospital.

The medical staff and civilians left in Nasser are literally barricading the doors as IOF storms the hospital.
Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shammala shared to his stories or watch it on twitter as someone shared it there too. In his last story IOF is telling them (those who can move) to evacuate and of course the remaining people are terrified because they were shooting anyone that moved.
Like I'm struggling to wrap my head around the fact that we're witnessing this as it's happening and we just have to keep watching. I'm due on shift in the early morning and can't close my eyes because I know if the crimes being committed in Nasser right now happened at any hospital in the west we wouldn't stop hearing about it. About how it's a terrible crime against humanity and should never have happened. We would be looking to have those responsible to pay dearly.
A bunch of you are probably sleeping right now but those who aren't I'm begging you to pray & to share any post about Nasser hospital. Any post from the doctors or civilians there if you come across it.

In the ruins of what had been Nasser hospital, the biggest in southern Gaza, Reuters saw emergency workers in white hazmat suits digging corpses out of the ground with hand tools and a digger truck. The emergency services said 73 more bodies had been found at the site in the past day, raising the number found over the week to 283.
Gaza authorities say the bodies recovered so far are from just one of at least three mass graves they have found at the site. "We expect to find another 200 bodies at the same mass grave in the coming two days before we will begin working at the two other cemeteries," Ismail Al-Thawabta, director of the Hamas-run government media office, told Reuters. He accused Israel of carrying out "executions" at the hospital and covering up the crimes by burying bodies with a bulldozer. Israel strongly denies having carried out executions.

Two mass graves were discovered by Palestinians near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis following the withdrawal of Isr@eli occupation forces.
"We found corpses without heads, bodies without skins, and some had their organs stolen," reported the Director-General of the Government Media Office in a statement.
Since the Isr@eli occupation withdrew, more than 180 bodies have been found in mass graves in the Nasser Hospital area.
The bodies include elderly women, children, and young men.
Rescuers recounted witnessing bodies found in plastic bags with Hebrew writings on them.
Many of the bodies had their hands tied behind their backs, indicating they were executed before being buried in these mass graves.
