Summary: In which Marguerite Adélie Chrysanthe drinks alcohol for the first time in Japan.

PHASE 1,

Adélie’s early days in Tokyo.

Ep. 1

Warning tags: alcohol consumption,

“すみません,” a softly firm voice used to make her way through the throng of people, Adélie knows she should expect this from rush morning hour.

Crossing the road reminds her of a choreographed dance, a steady stream of hastening pace with the businesspeople.

“Adélie!” One of the dancers she had known for a while greeted her the minute she passes through the entrance door.

Her name sounds endearing when said in a Japanese dialect, and it brings a smile to her lips, painted in coral for the day.

“A bunch of us are heading out for drinks after class. Do you want to come?” Her first invitation. Sure, there were others.

But, this is the offer she would not want to pass up. These dancers have a bit of a reputation, known to be semi-famous, too. It helps to keep some people close.

“Sure,” she nods, setting her bag down by the locker, pulling out her hairband and starting to brush her long, brown tresses back.

Faintly remembering the girl’s name as Sada Suzu, if she is not mistaken, Adélie brings her water bottle out. “Great! I’ll text you the details, okay?”

They exchange a few comments about the current choreography assignment they have, debating on which one is going to be picked by the 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘪 as the best routine.

“𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘪 is here!” One of the dancers with streaks of pink in her hair, Yamanaka Yuki, exclaims. They all scramble to find the position.

Everyone gets into place, streaming out of the locker rooms and their corner where they often sit down together.

Nakada Sakura, the teacher’s beloved dancer, takes her place in the middle, the center of the routine. She is deserving of the position, even Adélie admits it.

It goes on for about two and a half hours, the last part with their teacher repeating certain parts they still need to polish.

Practice makes perfect.

Even if it takes a thousand times until their feet are blistering and bruises mark their skin, that is. Raise your hands, and twirl on your toes.

There is numbness on the supposed pain, and bandages on her skin, and Adélie thinks she must have been one of the biggest donors for the ointments company.

One of the relief providers she found is a pain relief patch. Any ache is relieved with a small amount, cut by her into tiny pieces.

Sometimes, she wears them for class, too. Mostly for places unnoticeable, when the pain in her limbs is just too unbearable.

”One more time, and we are done for the day.”

Adélie knows they are nowhere near finished, if she is lucky, it would only be less than five more times.

”Good, good ——— ” a slight pause, then the teacher’s whole expression morphs into a grim façade. ”But, why are you changing the already correct part?”

Every curse she knows flies around in her mind, but she says nothing and gets back to place instead. There is no use complaining.

It would just make them spend more time, and waste more energy. She stands back in her position, hands raising above her head.

”Last one,” after nodding in approval for their recent try, the teacher, an older lady with a stern glare that makes any newbie dancer tremble in their place, finally promises.

This time, she sees the truth. After years of training and going through teachers, she can analyze their tone, more or less.

”5, 6, 7, 8!” Jumping to get through their choreographed dance, flowing and gliding past the moves, mouth slightly open in a ragged breath. ”Yes! That’s it! We’re done for the day.”

Thank any God who heard.

Once they thank the teacher, along with some dancers, Adélie returns to the locker room to change her clothes. A shower is long overdue.

Wiping the sweat dripping ——— at this point, pouring down her body, not to mention how she could squeeze it out of her hair, she finds her water bottle.

The girls chatter about drinks, excited for the prospect to kick back and relax after a long practice.

Piled into the train, changed out of their dance attire into crop tops and dresses, they head to the club.

Adélie dresses in an all black outfit, since she had initially planned to head back home afterwards. The crop top stops above her midriff.

Before she leaves, the dancer finds a moment to message Evelyn, notifying that she is going out with some friends.

They go through the usual, checking IDs, then the bouncer let them in. The party is in full swing, with blinding lights and dancing bodies.

There’s always a first for everything.

Adélie is no exception, who is recently just settling in Tokyo. The heart of Japan, with its glimmering nightlife.

It might not be uncharted territory for her, who has had enough experience with alcoholic beverages back home.

Yuki orders for everyone, proclaiming the first round is on her, returning with what she tells her as Yuzu Mule for everyone on a tray.

“This isn’t your first time drinking, right?”

“Of course not.”

Sipping a bit of the cocktail, she can taste the kick of fragrant aroma from Yuzu juice. A bit unusual, but welcomed.

Adélie did once try Moscow Mule, and she wonders if the two drinks are inspired by one another. Who knows.

One drink later, they all head to the dance floor. Maybe it is questionable, since they all do this on a daily basis, whether it already bores them.

Though the difference with dancing in a club is, they get to move however they want, be it a mere wiggle. There is no technicalities to be enforced.

“Sakura!”

Yuki immediately abandons the guy she just met, who seems to be hanging on to her every word, let her rephrase that, every sway of her hips.

“We need to get her home,” holding onto a swaying Sakura, whose gaze is unfocused, Adélie nods in agreement.

Having only had that one drink, she trusts herself to be sober enough. The two of them collect the other girls, before piling into a taxi.

Since most of them are drunk, though fortunately no one seems to hit the jackpot, at least not in front of her, she starts to list the addresses.

Adélie is the third to get home, with Sakura being dropped off first, helped by Yuki, who is sweet enough to promise she would take care of the star dancer.

“See you tomorrow, Chrysanthe!” Flashing her gummy smile, still intact despite the exhaustion, she waves at the two, though Sakura is too out of it to respond.

Not only she is dedicated, she notes of how responsible Nakada Sakura is. That thought crossed her mind as she sees the star already warming up in class the next morning.

Yuki chats with the other dancers, the social butterfly that she has always been. Her burnt orange jumper makes her complexion seem lovelier.

“Hey, there you are,” Suzu, the one who had invited her out yesterday, greets. She is less talkative compared to the others, but Adélie notices how attentive her classmate is.

From the way she always sees when the teacher is coming to class, and how she fusses over Sakura needing to rest sometimes, which everyone knows since they talk about it in the locker room.

Her decision to secretly ——— something she never thought possible with her parents’ meddling, choice to pick this major seems to go well.

Starting their warmup, one by one, taking turns to count to 8, as their teacher instructed on the first day.

So far, so good.

2022-12-16 “Can Ikeda Teresa see the dream of Teresa-panda?” [ENG]

Ahhh I can’t ever wake up for this dream, I’m pretty sure was a song that I sang on the first broadcast of New Nogizaka Star Tnajou. I had only just debuted and at that time that was the first time I had appeared on tv.

We wore this cute outfit, and sang while dancing… and watching myself in the screen I thought to my self “is being an idol really just a dream?”

I barely made it into the auditions for a group that I longed to join, Nogizaka46. It was then that my dream started and since then I’ve been unable to wake up from it.

To be able to be doing a lot of magazine shoots is something that most idols aim for. I don’t know anything about this line of work, but since joining Nogizaka as an idol I’ve come to know the world and the jobs that come with being an idol.

Appearing on TV, being published in magazines, radio, SNS and stream about myself…

It’s amazing.

I’m still a million miles away from reaching my senior members, and I don’t even feel like I’m close to reaching the other 5th generation members. They’re overflowing with talent, they’re cute and on top of that they’re hard workers. No matter how much effort I put in it’s still very difficult to catch up to them.

 New Nogizaka Star Tanjou! LIVE in Kobe, I was asked to do the vocals for JUDY AND MARY and YUKI-sa’'s ‘JOY’. Ever since it was decided that I would be performing this song I was very worried, happy, delighted and pained.

For me this is an important song. Deep inside, I feel like I did the best that I could at the level I’m currently at and I gave it my all.

I hope you were able to smile and enjoy my final song that I will be singing this year.

Umm, Uguisudani, I didn’t think that it would be such a stupid answer. Tokyo Kanda Akihabara, when I started the Yamanote-sen song I started listing off all the station names in quick succession and I had an image of all the station but Uguisundani is Uguisu and it doesn’t really fit does it…?

After that the picture that won the prize. Looking back, the yellow zebra in the meadow I drew a little big. Each ward is a ward but the ward I live in was supposedly a protection ward? Lol

We went on the stage after the performance had ended and the silence that greeted us was different from the one before we went on the stage, it was very moving!

“Chinmoku no kinyoubi”

I appeared on the December 9th broadcast (●︎´▽︎`●︎)

For some reason ChinKin is…. When I spoke to them it was like ‘finally’, I’ve mentioned it on the blog, and I’ve talked a lot about it with the staff.

Yumiki-san, new old man (is what I’ve been allowed to call her) who appeared on Nogizaka Under Construction and New Nogizaka Star Tanjou as a guest, out of all the senior members she is the one that I feel like I can get the closest to, want to be the closest to!

Because of ChinKin I feel like we’ve become even closer than before, I’m so glad 😭💕

(I’ve honestly listened to some of the old broadcasts and I was a little scared) Arupii’s Hirako-san and Sakai-san are really kind, it was honestly so much fun. Thank you very much!

 The other day while I was listening to Kubo Shiori’s LINELIVE, my name came up all of a sudden and I felt my heart fly into my mouth. Tere-pan…is honestly…….. For some reason, ehe, I became really happy aaaaahhhh ^^

When Satsuki-chan went to eat with Tamura-san and Hayakawa-san, suddenly “I’m currently a Teresa Oshi” she said with a strange smug look on her face, what the hell is she… is what I though but this is what happened.

It’s the first time we’ve ever done a gravure together and I was really looking forward to it, we’ve been a pair since BanHaga!

We ate salad and Aya had her favorite tomatoes and I had my favorite shrimp, I was super happy ｴｪｪﾋﾞｨｨ(｢🦐･ω･)｢🦐

I also drew a caricature of Aya so make sure to look for that.

 The fact that I was able to be in so many magazines like this was no matter of a fact thing, it’s all thanks to everyone who kept on buying these magazines, who requested me in the surveys, and because you supported me.

You’re not princes at all but like the gods themselves!!!!!

The length of the outfit was actually really long! Below the knee I would say. On the day of the shoot, they did a fitting and adjusted it then. Long version, short version and in the end they went with what they have now which is short in the front long in the back

But I do like Teshima after all. There are so many geniuses at Sohoku but because he sees himself as a normal person the way he pedals overlaps, but he isn’t really an average person he’s a genius at working hard.

There’s also a saying that I really like from a volley ball manga called “shoujo fight” and that is “the mind is more powerful than ability”.

The day I met Ito Marika-san

The other day I  went to Ito Marika-san’s solo exhibition “MARIKA ITO LIKEA EXHIBITION LIKEA” 🎧✂️

The second I entered the appearance of the world was so powerful and the level of perfection really charmed me.

It was so bright, on top of that the control of the colors and images and together with the still images and her expression were amazing.

Ito-san’s individual PV and the art she did while being a member even before I joined is something I really looked up to.

After joining, I drew self portraits, and because I liked looking at it I listened to a lot of Ito-san’s stories.

 And I’m so glad that I was able to go see this solo-exhibition!

I haven’t seen her since the 10th YEAR BIRTHDAY LIVE, and this is the first time I’ve talked to her, she was so kind, and on top of that she’s like so absolutely downright beautiful (  ᵒ̴̷͈ωᵒ̴̶̷͈ )✨️

Each page of the illustrated book had a different aura to it, thank you for kindly welcoming me.

 I’ve been to many exhibitions for people that I know, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been swallowed up by such powerful repesenations. Having that sensation was really nostalgic!

Ever since becoming an idol this world is something that I forgot about, which one is really my true reality? Where are my dreams? I became kind of lost

(For me they’re both important and amazing things in my life)

If the smile on Misha’s face was any indication, it was a very, very good story that she missed. One that Arrakis probably didn’t want to run around freely, but that still did. 

- Hm… well, no…- Oh, damn, I need to tell you this one.

- I… I… I don’t think I will… ever be able to look at him the same way, Yuki finally said, tears of laughter sparkling at the corner of her eyes. He really did that ? I mean…- Yes, yes he did !

She rubbed her eyes with the palm of her hand, barely hiding the large smile on her lips. It was a relief to be able to laugh, and be able to laugh to tears, to feel relaxed and no longer tense up at the idea of making a sound too high. And the smile Misha was giving her, eye sparkling with a joy he loved sharing with her, was just another small reason she fell in love with him. 

- Maybe I should just think about that when we will be at the dinner. Because I don’t think I could do worse.- Maybe. And, well, it’s.. it’s not like w… we are going to stay with the… “stuck up ones” ? Shizuka and Shinji are going to be there, too.- What, them ? … They are actually going to an aristocratic dinner ?- Well, uh, yes, th.. they… well their grandparents are nobles… Y… You have met them Misha ! You remember ? My adopted family ?- I just can’t see them as nobles, it’s just… It doesn’t fit. 

She shrugged and expected him to go back to the couch and leave their lesson at that, a small failure but a good moment shared together. She would get another moment to try and make him do the steps carefully with her later, he needed to relax. And she needed it too, probably.  

- Well… Will you try once again to teach me the waltz ?

He extended his hand toward her, and with a nod, she took it. Slowly, she counted the steps under her breath, showing him again and again the movements and rhythm of the dance. It took a bit more time, a bit more practice, but soon the steps smoothly followed one another, Misha letting himself follow the flow of Yuki’s movements.

- See, you can do it, Misha.- Well I do have a very well-known and talented dancer as my teacher, don’t I ?

She missed a step, red as a rose, always caught by surprise by the warmth in his voice when he admired her. With a laugh, he took her in his arms and kissed her.
