I have more evidence of your point!
If you look at the episode “Certain Warmth” (Netflix Terms: Season 3, Episode 21; time 17:10-17:26) Meliodas quite literally admits to trying to kill himself.
Zaratras, very intoxicated: “If that’s really true, and you’re that old, then you’re astounding Sir Meliodas. I mean - if it were me - I don’t think I’d be able to stand it. I’d have to kill myself or have someone kill me, you know?”
Meliodas, tipsy: “Oh, I’ve tried everything,” - pause - “But… the curse won’t allow that to happen.
Basically, Meliodas does want to die and has tried to end his life before - admitting to trying everything. And if Nakaba had half the mind the fans did, this idea would’ve been explored a bit more.
Meliodas definitely had several moments in NNT where he was fed up with the curse and just wanted things to end. Based on his character, his thought process would be along the lines of: “If I end my life, maybe the curse will end and Elizabeth can live freely.” Because even if he commits such a selfish act, he’s doing it for the benefit of someone else (what can I say, he’s too self-sacrificial for his own good). Furthermore, if Meliodas was ready to accept death calmly when the curse was taking affect once more, and jumps at the opportunity to collect the commandments knowing it would trap him in the demon realm away from his loved ones for the sake of breaking the curse, then it’s safe to assume he’s had enough of his life.
I wouldn’t be surprised that if Elizabeth Liones died due to the curse once more, Meliodas would completely give up. In a later season with Meliodas, Merlin, and Escanor (where Meliodas shames Escanor for being suicidal and basically tells him to get his shit straight), Merlin suspends Escanor in a state between life and death so he can speak with Rosa (The King Sings Alone, S5 EP 18, time 21:23-21:40). Merlin offers, “I can render you half dead the same way I did for Escanor.” Knowing Merlin not only has the power to render someone half dead, but also the power to keep a state infinitely, Meliodas would probably ask her to put him in dormancy. AKA, Merlin would render him half dead and keep that state infinitely; Meliodas would technically be alive, but put in a state of comatose as his soul itself wanders the Capital of the Dead.
The angst ideas are infinite and I will explore every one of them, TRUST.
Hear me out for a sec.
When Meliodas revealed the truth about his and Elizabeth's curse and wanting to break it, Diane said something along the line of "But then you and Elizabeth will..." (I think) implying that she thought both of them would die once the curse was broken.
Meliodas responds with something to the effect of "that's the point"...??????? Am I reading into this too much or did he just admit he wanted to die?? This has angst potential methinks

the fact that we never got a 1 on 1 Ludociel vs Estarossa fight just saddens me every time I think about it. The rampant anger turning into slow realization then chilling despair would have been so cool to see. For all the shit Ludo has done I think nakaba should have hurt him some more. Lost potential if anything.
also colors suck.

Another match down!
first and foremost, THAT'S MY BOY!!!
second....why does the Sacred Tree talk like that...s-...somebody kill me... But I do feel better about Nasiens' status, having been given some kind of criteria now. So fine I guess...
We're not even gonna get into his Spirit Spear though, I've already commented on someone else's post about that...
Anyway! The tournament!
And Rothes goes down! (lucky for Nakaba, I don't have to get the raccoons :P)
Nasiens certainly is an unconventional combatant. He always has been but this takes it to the next step.
He wasn't sure he could handle miasma from Purgatory, so chose not use his usual "absorb and neutralize" tactic with poisons. But that didn't leave any real options to fight with! Rothes backed him into the corner of the ring! And that's when our favorite half-fairy(well mine anyway) remembered he could fly! With some encouragement from the Sacred Tree itself! Nasiens finally utilized the fragment of Chastifol given to him by Fairy King Harlequin, summoning first "Sponge Percival"... which was interesting... It did as the name implies and sucked up all the miasma!
After that Nasiens formed his own version of the Spirit Spear! It's uh... Well it's a weapon anyway... One that the Fairy Prince used to destroy Rothes' Purgatory rift allowing him to win the match! (and I'm 4 for 4!) His next match will be against Diodora. Will Percival's "brother" bloody another one of his love interests? Or will Nasiens avenge his teammate? It's anyone's guess.
Though I'm assuming our next match will be the first of block B, which will be Gawain against Turret! I think we all know who we're rooting for...

*sigh* So, Jade
I'm gonna be frank with y'all, I'm not a fan of Jade's death? And not for the usual reasons character deaths suck, like if they serve shock factor instead of character development, because concerning that this was actually a pretty okay death? But it still felt shit. Because it was an okay end to Jade's character, the problem is that his arc was fuck all too short. Or rather it feels like the arc was cut off when it was actually starting to arch.
Jade's character was just starting to develop. He was cool for like 4 chapters, like, could have become a fan fave cool. We just got to know and like him, and seeing as this is still the beginning of the story? His death just feels like wasted potential. At least to me. Honestly if Nakaba keeps treating his side characters like that I'm out. I so hope Nasiens' rant wasn't foreshadowing for one of them dying each arc til Percy's all alone and destroys the world out of grief. Or...?

No exactly because tell me why that was her first fucking instinct in comforting Percy was to be like “oh hey that sucks but hey grope me that will make you feel better remember that from 2 years ago” like anne i love you I really do but WHAT THE FUCK!??
Like Percy was over here trying to confide in her about these things he had thanks to Gareth making him feel like everything is his fault and that he’s some monster that brings death and misfortune to everyone he hangs around with and on top of feeling like it was his fault for being alive again because of diodra being in the cauldron. And that he was supposed to be his vessel
Like bro thats such a valid feeling for Percy and anne was doing good at comforting saying it was Ironsides fault because it is and not his and than she goes and does that LIKE WHYYYYYYYYYYYY UGHH
It ruined it for me like horribly it was so unnecessary like why nakaba why
Welp- it was nice shipping you Percyanne but y'all fell of HARD
I'm kidding but at the same time I'm not.
Cause the fym, Percival started to confide to Anne about a horrible situation thay makes him feel guilty and sad and Anne's way of trying to make him feel better is to ask him to feel her up- WHEN HE LITERALLY TALKED ABOUT SOMETHING TRAUMATIC.
Anne I love you girl but wtf this is not okay, this is actually really shitty, he opened up to you about his trauma and you decide to change the subject and ask him to touch you like maybe you were trying to make him feel better but it's still weird and feels dissmisve of his feelings !!
I genuinely loved Percyanne, (more platonically tho), I always appreciated their bond and their chemistry. Loved how they always had each others backs and adoredd how they matched each others goofyness.
So it's really sad and disappointing to see such a positive relationship reduced to some gross fan servicey gag ( just like melizabeth tbh, an aspect that takes away alot of their charm ) because their relationship is so much more than that hell Anne is much more than that!!!
I really don't know what to say, I'm just beyond disappointed.

Ok since you bored I’ll tell you my thoughts.
We know Nakaba had a habit of not utilizing his characters to their fullest potential, and I believe one clan that had the short end of the stick was the vampire clan. I never like how weak he made them, I mean we seen different kinds of vampire in the different anime/shows and we seen how vast their abilities are.
I kinda wanted the vampire to be like the demons from demon slayer. The stronger the demon is they develop their own blood art based on their personality. Or at least be like the vampires from Castlevania. Tell me your thoughts
I absolutely agree with this and it’s really sad because I think the vampires are hella fucking interesting in the sense they are like demons but aren’t so I kinda always think of as like maybe decadents of them but just with varying differences. But it so sucks we barely got anything about like we don’t much about them other then they drink blood and it makes them stronger. Hell we don’t even know much about gelda for that matter. I’d just like a side story or even an arc about them because nakaba could do so much with them but he doesn’t. He literally said look vampires! And then nothing I mean we learn some stuff because of gelda and her relationship with zeldris and Orlandi too but it’s still not enough. Even Gelda’s magic (which is listed in the cursed by light pamphlet) is listed as unknown so we don’t even know her magic.
I do really love the idea of them having like magic or abilities based on their blood because they would be super cool because they could use the extra blood they Consume and form in into attacks and stuff and that would look super cool. Or even like different abilities with their fangs like being to paralyze their foes or victims before drinking their blood or maybe even them having venom in them too or anything that would be super cool.
I’d just really like to see more from them because they are one of my favorite clans and it’s a shame we don’t know anything about them barely. I’d especially like to see what kind of relationships they had with each other.

random NNT wip that I may or may not continue
(and if I do continue it, one day, it probably won’t look like this now that 4KOTA has given me more material to use)
More notes at the bottom, but I was going through some of my wips after thinking about this concept again on a whim, and I re-read it and I’m still happy with this scene, so I decided to post it for the kicks and giggles. It’s smack in the middle (early-mid?) of a whole story that I don’t have time to write (and 4KOTA is making me reconsidering things) so it may not make much sense, but that’s part of the fun.
Basic premise: a Tower of God AU for the characters of Seven Deadly Sins. I thought of it / wrote this after the NNT manga ended, but before Nakaba announced 4KOTA and published the Lancelot oneshot.
--
Howzer never imagined that he would be a scout when he first decided to climb the Tower. In fact, he was rather upset when Hendrickson labeled him as a scout back on the Floor of Tests, especially when he dreamed of being a spear bearer. Of course, he knew now he was nowhere near as talented with spears as Gilthunder or even Griamore was, though he had gotten pretty good at using his lance in close combat. The point was, Howzer had underestimated the importance and even the difficulty that the position of a scout had to offer.
It was a heavy load to bear.
He panted for a moment, hands on his knees. There was a short window he had to recover from that cheap ambush before he had to keep moving. He could buy himself some more time if he hid their bodies, to hide his tracks, but he was running out of time.
The thirty-second floor was nothing less than a battlefield wrapped up in a fun little ‘game’ the test director had the audacity to call ‘hide and seek.’ Essentially, the teams had to wander through the maze and duck under the hedges to make it to the center. If anyone was out from under the cover for more than three minutes, giant fucking birds would come down and eat them. Oh, and of course, the regulars were fond of killing each other along the way in the spirit of competition.
Lighthouses weren’t immune either, only allowed out in the open for a single minute before imminent, feathery, destruction. The hedges were nigh impenetrable, forcing the teams to funnel through the maze, so the spear bearers were relegated to straight ground attacks with the fisherman, once in engagement. In short, the entire test seemed to boil down to raising hell for the scouts.
Which, as previously mentioned, was him.
Joy.
He hadn’t really wanted to kill those guys, but they were annoying and bent on doing the same to them. There wasn’t the time to make a proper decision anyway. Howzer rounded the corner and dove back under the hedge, eyeing the three seconds left on his pocket’s timer. There wasn’t time to regret anything: he had to move.
No one had reached the end yet, which was both a good and a bad thing. Good, because it wasn’t a full-on race yet; bad, because Howzer’s specialty was following people, not mazes. However, he liked to think he was getting better at this kind of stuff. It was a shame his observer could only last as long as he did out in the open—but at least they weren’t on the same timer. When Howzer ducked into the hedge, he sent the observer out.
Luckily for him, his observer was picking up no more lifeforms. Well, no more living ones. It looked like a team found the wrong path before he came and paid the price for it. However, now Howzer knew the correct path for the next few turns, and they were all clear too. “I just sent the directions,” he spoke into his device. “You guys got it?”
“Yes,” Margaret’s voice came through from her lighthouse. “Although, I don’t think ‘take a left at the bush’ is an adequate description in a…hedge maze.”
“Nah, it’s obvious when you see it.” It was a different color and everything! His teammates were so picky… “But I gave the coordinates too.”
It was away from the receiver, but he heard the sigh. Picky and judgmental… “We’re on our way.”
Howzer rolled his eyes, grateful Margaret and Guila weren’t there to notice and gang up on him. Don’t get him wrong, he was beyond happy that Margaret joined their team (especially since Griamore was terrible at being a light bearer) but sometimes there was no winning with her. Not unless you were Gilthunder. Or Guila. Or Tristan… Okay, maybe it was just him. The fated tension between light bearers and scouts, he supposed.
“Not even a thank you…” he muttered to himself before jumping back out in the open. He already stashed his observer at the destination, so he just needed to reach it, quick and easy— “AH!”
“Agh!”
Howzer collided with a body as he turned the corner into the new path. He stumbled back a few steps, and the other person was sent flying on their butt. For a moment, he stared at her, dumbfounded. His observer excelled at sensing signs of life based on their heartbeats, so unless they had some crazy technique, not even shinsu could cover it; and this girl just came out of the dead end—where everyone had appeared dead.
Although, he was pretty sure he didn’t remember seeing her in particular. She was a slight thing, but with bright pink hair with a short cut and a sweeping bang that covered one eye completely. Plus, she was wearing armor, which wasn’t all that common. Surely, he would have remembered… Unless she was in the hedge. But even then, that should have picked up on his observer.
“Sorry,” she gasped. “I was in a hurry.”
He glanced at his pocket. “No kidding.” He wouldn’t make it to his observer now. Damn, a short break then. “Come on!” Howzer yanked the girl into the nearest hedge with him. Sure, she was an enemy, but she didn’t look like she was in good shape. Her armor was scuffed, the needle on her side looked damaged, and her skin was unnaturally pale. And Howzer wasn’t gonna’ let a girl die like that—especially not to frickin’ birds.
“Thank you.” The fisherman got back on her feet. “I was just trying to get my bearings. My observer broke though.”
“You’re a scout?!” he exclaimed reflexively. Damnit, he thought he pegged her. “I thought you were a fisherman.”
She glanced down at her needle and huffed out a quiet laugh, almost like she was remembering some past joke. “Our team doesn’t have a real scout, so I multi-task.”
“Damn, that sucks.” That was beyond reckless. Not that Howzer could say much, because his team tried to function with a proper light-bearer for nearly fifteen floors before Margaret joined them.
“Yes. It does. It worked out enough, though.”
Howzer can’t help but to wonder if the slaughtered team around that bend was hers. The far off look in her eye seemed to match his suspicions, too. Worked out, huh? Not forever…
She snapped out of her daze. “I’m Liz,” she introduced, offering a hand.
Howzer took it after only a brief moment of hesitation. She didn’t look like she had the strength to take him in a fight anyway. Besides, if she wanted to kill him like that last group did, then she had the opportunity to shove him to the birds a while ago. “Howzer,” he returned. “Here, let’s hurry up around this corner. My observer is there.” He couldn’t afford a new one if it was destroyed or stolen…again.
Liz nodded, and they took off. Despite her pallor, she was fast. He had the feeling that had he not been leading the way, she could easily outrun him. Strange, that someone with the ability to move through shinsu like this would be in the position she was…
They made it to their destination without a hitch, and Liz hadn’t even broken a sweat. Still, the question bothered him. “So, where’s your team?”
The beat of silence was answer enough that his first hunch was correct. “…they died. I’m…the only one that survived.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.” He really was. The thought of losing a single one of his teammates was painful enough, but all of them? Howzer didn’t know if he would have the motivation to still keep going. “…What are you going to do, then? Finish the test alone?” It was nigh impossible, but for a fisherman who knew the ways of scouting…
“I don’t know.” Liz picked at her armor, looking uncomfortable. He imagined it was a sore question, but he wanted to know her motives. She seemed capable enough, so if she wanted to get out of the maze, Howzer was willing to vouch for her and absorb her into the team, at least for the test. “There’s someone… I want to see. I can’t die until I see him.” The steel in her blue eye was testament to her resolve. She had something to live for.
“Hey.” Howzer laid a hand on her shoulder. “I know we’re not your teammates, but my team can get you to the end of this test. You go find that guy you’re looking for.” He was sure his team would be sympathetic, too. Gilthunder wanted to find his missing father. Guila wanted to make it back home to her brother and her hometown to protect them as a ranker. Jericho wanted to avenge her brother. Tristan wanted to find out who his family was. Everyone had someone they wanted to look out for.
“Thank you.” Liz smiled, and Howzer thought he saw a glisten on her cheek.
There was always sorrow behind resolve.
“Who are you?!” A needle pressed itself to Liz’s back. Oh, crap.
Howzer yanked Liz forward and intercepted. “Oi! Easy there, she’s with me!”
Jericho frowned, but she sheathed her needle. “If you hormonal boys don’t stop picking up girls, I’m leaving.”
His face turned red. (But not as read as Gilthunder’s and Margaret’s, a fact he was very proud of.) “H-hey, it’s not like that! I just offered to help her clear the maze, that’s all!”
“Whatever, lover-boy.”
Liz laughed, a short and sweet but very unapologetic sound. “Oh no, it’s not like that at all. I’m far too old for him, anyway. You must be Howzer’s team, correct?”
“Y-yeah.” Gilthunder cleared his throat, recovering from Jericho’s heckling. “We are. I’m Gilthunder.”
“Liz.” She gave a short bow. “Thank you for helping me.”
At their questioning gaze, Howzer filled in. “Her team died to the birds. I offered to help her reach the end, so she can move on and find someone.” He grinned. “We’re close to the end, too. I can feel it.”
“With what?” Griamore grunted. “Your impatience?”
“Nobody asked you, big guy. Anyway!” He clapped, turning on his heel to his beloved observer. “I’ve been tracking the paths on here. They’re narrowing and getting tighter around the curves, so we must be approaching the center of the circle. A few more trips, and I bet we’ll have made it.”
“That’s…” Margaret gave a soft smile. “Actually smart.”
“…’actually’?!”
His brow twitched. Whatever. They’ll appreciate his genius one day! Maybe. Howzer turned back to his observer with a sigh, ready to send it out again, but something caught his notice.
The observer counted seven lifeforms in the vicinity, including himself.
With Liz, there should be eight.
He had assumed it was a fluke that he didn’t see Liz on his radar the first time, and because she wasn’t hostile, he hadn’t thought of the implications too hard. But she was right there, and the observer wouldn’t read her. It was possible it could be some weird shinsu trick, but she wasn’t a wave controller, and he had never seen a regular with that level of skill otherwise. Besides, there was absolutely no point in her expending energy to hide herself now that she had allies.
It seemed like Guila noticed something about her, too. Howzer noticed the black-haired wave-controller frown pensively, her eyes opened to slits in a rare moment of appraisal. Howzer couldn’t ask her what she sensed without raising suspicion, however, so he would have to wait. He could send a message by pocket once they started scouting again, when messaging wouldn’t be abnormal.
When he looked back to her, however, Liz was completed fixated on something else. Her eye was wide, and her mouth was parted; it was slight, but there was a tremble to her muscles. It looked like she was afraid, but it wasn’t the kind of fear that Howzer saw on the battlefield. Her gaze was locked…
…onto Tristan.
He wasn’t sure how long this had taken place, but Tristan just noticed, meeting her gaze like an equally spooked deer. Parallel to each other’s, their blue eyes looked similar—but there was something deeper to Liz’s than in the kid’s. Something Howzer couldn’t quite recognize, no matter how it hurt his pride as a scout.
“You…” Tristan blinked owlishly, taking one cautious step towards the woman. “Do I know…you…?”
“…no.” Liz’s voice was thick. The entire team was frozen around their encounter, as if time or the test didn’t exist outside of the two. “N-no, I’m afraid you don’t.” She matched Tristan’s hesitant step forward, her hand reaching out slowly. “But can I…?”
There was recognition in her stance, however—in her hungry, pained gaze, and in her outstretched hand. No one knew Tristan, not really, but rumors of him spread around the tower. This wouldn’t have been the first time someone hailed Tristan as some savior, whether because of his strange shinsu control or his status as an irregular. However, this seemed different. Normally, those willing to cast their hopes on a complete stranger were not the hesitant type.
“Uh…” Tristan looked as confused as ever. “I’m not sure I’m following but…”
He didn’t stop her, and Liz inched towards him like she was still afraid of something—of him, maybe. Guila looked like she was about to stop her, but she was frozen in place just like Howzer was. Maybe it was curiosity that made them useless. Maybe it was something else.
Tristan gasped. “Your heart—!” Her heart? Has Tristan figured out why Liz mysteriously didn’t show up on his radar? “It’s not… It’s not beating!”
“I know,” she whispered solemnly. What?! It wasn’t beating at all?! Then how was she even alive?! “But don’t worry about me.” Liz didn’t take her gaze off of Tristan. “It’s beating somewhere else.”
Howzer blinked. What?
“What the hell…?” Jericho whispered, echoing his thoughts perfectly.
Liz looked up sharply, forcefully tearing her gaze away from Tristan, who still looked baffled and dazed. She bowed quickly in Howzer’s direction. “Thank you for your hospitality, but I must be going.”
Before he or anyone could even respond, and with one last longing glance at Tristan, she took off faster than untrained eyes could track. The team looked to him, but Howzer could only shrug helplessly. “I don’t know if I can catch up, but wait here.”
He did see which direction she was going, but he knew her speed was greater than his unless he reinforced himself with shinsu. However, there wasn’t the need, because she was headed back to the dead end.
If she was there to get information from them, she didn’t stick with it, and he knew for a fact that she was too distracted with Tristan to ever mess with his observer. It was almost as if Tristan was the one that she was looking for—or at least a sizable distraction to her goal, based on the fixation. However, she took off without accomplishing much besides confusing them; she took off with a level of panic too. They were safe in the bush though, and there were no teams nearby.
Howzer heard her before he saw her, and he slowed his approach out of both caution and respect, hovering on the other side of the corner. Liz screamed, wailing unabashedly with pent up sorrow that he could not fathom. She would have been out of earshot of the rest of the team, but just barely. But hers was a cry that came as a deluge; there was no holding it back.
He thought about just turning around and leaving her alone. He was intruding on something delicate and personal, but, as a scout he couldn’t remove himself without a final glance. Howzer peaked around the corner, in no way prepared for what he saw.
Liz was not the one crying. She was but a body on the ground, limp and lifeless. A white entity floated above her, with long silver hair and those same blue eyes, holding her stomach in her ghostly hands as she wailed.
This time, it was hard to ignore how much she looked like Tristan.
It wasn’t a suspicion he could follow at the moment, however. The test was still running, and they couldn’t afford to lose their chance at going to the thirty-third floor. Howzer turned around and left the woman to her sorrows, with the inescapable feeling that they would see her again.
--
another A/N
The story is/was going to be about the youngins’ dream-filled trek to becoming a ranker in the Tower, with the team consisting of Howzer, Gilthunder, Griamore, Jericho, and later Margaret, who are all regulars with various aspirations and goals, along with Tristan, a young boy who met the first four on Floor 1, who was sent to the inner Tower from outside known Tower boundaries, making him an irregular.
The main mystery was going to be finding out how Tristan came to be (which is to say, finding out what happened to his parents and the Sins) because his only memories are of a mysterious woman named Nimue caring for him, though much of his childhood was spent alone in her domain.
I’m pretty dedicated to the HTRYDS series right now, but maybe after 4KOTA gets farther along, I’ll rework the story to incorporate the new worldbuilding tidbits and the new characters. I had wanted the main team to be the “babies” but that required using the OG children and aging them down a bit to match Tristan, though they all still would have been older than he was.
Tbh, I had more fun comprising the backstory/alternate story that involved the sins and such than I did trying to figure out what the main group would be doing. I might just post my ideas and call it a day. Who knows.

From the darkness below (life can still rise)
Fandom: 七つの大罪 - 鈴木央 | Nanatsu no Taizai | The Seven Deadly Sins - Suzuki Nakaba (Anime & Manga) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Relationships: Diane/Fairy King Harlequin Characters: Fairy King Harlequin, Diane (Nanatsu no Taizai) Additional Tags: Post-Canon, Angst, Angst with a Happy Ending, Fluff, One Shot, king feels guilty about lots of stuff, diane doesn't like that, king and diane dancing!, Dancing, Romantic Fluff, Zine, written for the SPECTRUM zine
Summary: King visits the ruins of the old Fairy King's Forest for the first time in years. The last time he went there he was a criminal and racked with guilt, and he couldn't do anything to save the forest. But this time, Diane is with him. And this changes everything.
Notes: here’s my piece for the Spectrum zine @spectrumnntzine ! I got the prompt “black” and wrote some Kiane. King suffer a little here but luckily, Diane is with him.
Enjoy!
When he lands, a cloud of ashes and dirt rises from the ground. King clenches his mouth as dust covers his shoes and pants with a thin dark layer, then starts to fall, slowly, to the earth. Around him, the ground is covered with black mud and rubble, all that’s left of what were branches and leaves. King shivers and forces himself to look around, letting his eyes wander over the desolation surrounding him. The burned forest hasn’t changed since last time he was here. Somehow, the trees still stand, raising their slender branches to the sky. The wood is dark and dry, and King feels like it would crumble into ashes under his fingers if he touched it. Below, the twisted roots sink into the arid ground. Dirt and cinder cover the earth, almost obscuring the spider-web of cracks stretched across it. In his mind, the resemblance is disturbingly fitting. After all, this wasteland is a place of death and misery - death of the vegetation that once ruled it, death of the wildlife that made its home here, death of the Fairies he failed to protect. The place is the rotting cadaver of his beloved forest. Nothing but a monument to his own failure.
“Harlequin?” Diane’s voice is as soft as the gentle touch of her hand on his cheek. He breathes in and looks down to meet her eyes, loosening his grip on her. He was holding her tighter than he realized.
“Sorry,” he mutters as he buries his face in her hair. It feels nice and smells like flowers and hills, and it gives him an excuse to look away from the grim landscape around them.
Her head shakes slightly as she answers, “I’m fine - are you alright?”
Continue on AO3
He swallows before glancing around again. The scrawny trees look back at him like a jury of the dead. There used to be colours in their bark - light and dark brown, red, grey - sometimes almost invisible under the green mass of moss. There used to be colour in the earth where their roots sink - the light green of the grass, the hundreds of shades of the flowers; and in the air too, where butterflies flaunted their vibrant wings and birds flew from branch to branch with a beat of their vivid feathers. Nothing is left. King imagines them melting together as the fire consumed the forest, leaving behind only this nauseating, burned black.
“Yes,” he answers slowly, looking away, “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Diane raises an eyebrow but says nothing as he lets her go. She eyes her surroundings, a hint of uneasiness in her violet gaze. Not for the first time, King wonders why she insisted on coming with him. He told her it wasn't necessary, that the sight was hardly worth the trip, but he knows better than pushing her when she makes up her mind. She can be very stubborn, he thinks, a faint smile curving his lips.
Truth be told, he doesn’t know why he wanted to come here. The new Fairy King's Forest is home now. He knew nothing waited for him here. Yet the desire to return had been growing in the back of his mind since the war ended until it was impossible to ignore. Maybe, he admits to himself as some he takes hesitant steps between the trees, he hoped something had changed. When he last came, he was still a traitor, wanted by the kingdom for a crime he didn't commit. Even to him, it feels like ages ago. It was easy to convince himself that it was worth visiting if just to check whether some semblance of life had returned. But on the ground he sees no sprout, and on the trees, no leaves. The entire place looks frozen in time, framed in the aftermath of its destruction. King clenches his jaw as he approaches a tree. After a moment, he finds the courage to touch its trunk. It doesn’t crumble under his fingers as he feared, but he can feel no life within its burned shell. It’s only a matter of time before it rots, leaving no trace of its existence but ashes scattered on the ground.
“We should leave." His voice sounds stiff and low, but he is grateful it's not trembling.
“Oh? But we just got here!” He hears Diane’s approach behind him, her soles crushing tiny pieces of burned wood. “Didn’t you want to take a look around?”
He shakes his head. “It’s useless. I … I was hoping that I would have been able to fix this, now that my wings have grown,” he admits, finally turning towards her. "But this place is ... well, look at it. It’s dead. If anything survived, if only a single bud sprouted, I could help it grow, but I can't bring what is dead back to life.” If he could, he thinks bitterly, he wouldn’t have lost so much, would he?
With his foot, he traces a line in the dirt. It stains his shoe with sludge, black like the charred wood and the burned bones he knows he will find if he looks well enough between the roots. Some are so tiny and thin and can’t come but from small animals. Others are bigger and King doesn’t even want to think who they belonged to.
"It was foolish of me to come here - and to bring you with me,” he mutters. “I should know by now that I can't erase my mistakes."
Diane gasps and King closes his mouth, pressing his lips together, though he knows he can’t take his words back. She hates it when he speaks like that about himself. He glances at her and tries to find something to say as he waits for her to berate him. But she doesn’t speak. She stands silently instead, her head tilted and teeth sinking in her bottom lip; she stares at him with thoughtful eyes, then, suddenly, she moves. King's brow furrows as he watches her walk around, eyes fixed on the ground. Near a tree, she stops and taps her foot on the soil, once, twice, making the dust lift and float. King hesitates, unsure how to ask what she is doing, and his eyebrows rise suddenly when she crouches and reaches for the earth with her hand.
"Diane! You shouldn't touch -"
"Of course you can't erase your mistakes," she says without looking up, "that's not how it works."
King sucks in air and closes his mouth, baffled. That’s … not how she usually answers him, when the argument comes up. The change doesn’t quite upset him, though he feels his stomach clench. She loves him, but if she starts to see how much a failure he was -
"But you can't deny," she continues, pressing her palm against the dark soil, "that you’re trying. You are doing what you can to be a good king, and you are Harlequin. I, our friends, your people, everyone thinks so. Yes, you made mistakes in the past, but you’re trying to make sure nothing like this will happen again. This is the only thing you can do, now.” When she turns towards him, a little smile has formed on her lips. “And anyway, you’re wrong. You can help this forest.”
King frowns. “No, I can’t."
Maybe she can't feel the sense of death that filters through the cracks on the trees' bark, but she is not blind. Her bond with the earth must be telling her there is no hope for this place.
"You know I can't revive these plants," he says through his teeth. "There is no life left inside them, I ... checked, the first time I came here." Those moments are etched in stone in his mind - fear and disbelief taking his breath away, his mind refusing to process what he saw, to acknowledge it was real. He looked for his sister first, then for the other Fairies, and when he couldn't find anyone he had examined the plants, stumbling from one to the other, desperately looking for something alive. "Nothing survived the purgatory fire," he finishes, bitterly.
Diane hums softly before beckoning him with her hand. "Come here,” she orders.
King frowns as he walks towards her, curious to see what caught her attention; as soon as he is close enough, she grabs his hand and pulls him to crouch at her side.
“You have to stop blaming yourself for everything that happened here,” she whispers. “It’s distracting you.”
“How can I?” His eyes drop to the dirt that now stains their shoes and calves. "I was the king of this forest and I left it unprotected." He smiles bitterly, shaking his head, "I can't even bring myself to regret it. I couldn't abandon Helbram and - and leaving led me to you," he adds softly. "No, I could never regret my decision. But when I remembered, when I realized that I abandoned my people for centuries, I chose to stay away. I thought it was for the best to surrender myself to the humans and take the blame for what Helbram did. The truth is that it was an easy option.” He swallows, feeling like there is dust in his throat. “One that didn't require me to face my people after I failed to protect them, after I left them, after what I let happen to Helbram -"
“Harlequin.” Diane’s grip on his hands becomes tighter. “Look at me.” Reluctantly, he meets her gaze. Her eyes burn like violet flames. “You know you had to stay. You told me.”
"If I came back -"
"You would have had to fight a war against humans. Many people would have died - more than the ones who lost their lives in the fire. You would have brought death here,” she gestures at the forest around them, “to your people, and to the humans who would have fought you. You saved lives when you decided not to come back.”
“But I should have been here to fight that Demon!”
“You couldn’t know about the Demon.” She squeezes his hands tighter, so abruptly that he has to hold back a groan. “You did what you had to stop what was threatening your home. You acted like a king.”
He wants to object, to insist he should have done better, he should have found a way to keep everyone safe and give the humans the justice they demanded. It takes just a moment to realise that he can’t. Diane is right. It’s not the first time he’s thought about this and reached the same conclusions, but this time they feel more … real. Not like simple excuses he is trying to make up to absolve his crimes.
“I … know”, he whispers, “but my sister died because of my decision. If Ban hadn't revived her ...”
“But he did. You can’t keep tormenting yourself over what was in the past, Harlequin. Elaine is alive and happy, and so are the Fairies and the Fairy King’s Forest - and that’s what you should focus on. What it is, not what it isn’t anymore.” She smiles at him. “You have to accept that you can’t change the past. But you can protect the present.”
King stares at her, the grip on his chest finally loosened a little. The guilt is still there, heavy and bitter. He knows it will never go truly away. Maybe it's alright. Maybe with time, it won’t feel like a burden to drag him down, but a push to do better. So that there won’t be more burned forests and lost lives.
“Thank you,” he murmurs, releasing a long breath as he lifts their joined hands to kiss her knuckles.
Diane beams before reaching for him; the touch of her lips on his own is quick as a beating of wings. She is gone before King can even think to kiss her back, then, still holding his hand, she murmurs, "Will you look into the earth, now?"
"The ... earth?" He blinks, tilting his head, cheeks still flushing for the kiss. "The - the roots have burned as well. I can't feel them, Diane. They’re dead too."
She shakes her head. "No, I mean - under here," she says, pressing his hand against the ground with her own. "You have to look deeper. Please, just," she adds when he looks at her with uncertainty, "just try."
Under the dust, the ground is hard and coarse and feels nothing like the soft meadow that once covered it all. King hesitates, but when he glances at Diane she nods encouragingly, a spark of excitement in her eyes. So, he closes his eyes and lets his magic flow. When he uses Disaster, he can feel them clearly - the plants, their connection with each other and the ground, whether they are going to survive or if they need to be taken down to allow other plants to grow. When he does it in the Fairy King’s Forest, the wood awakens with whispers and lights everywhere around him, the entire forest pulsing with life.
But here, King feels nothing. The world around him is silent and dark as a starless sky. Nothing seems to answer his call. Clenching his jaw, he keeps looking; Diane wouldn't be making him do it without a reason. She felt something, and now he just has to look long enough to -
It's there. His eyes snap open, but his mind stays focused on the tiny spark of life hidden in the depths of the earth. It’s a seed, King realises, and it’s not the only one. There are others around it, here under him, but also in the surroundings, under every scrawny tree. He looks up, eyes wide, and Diane grins at him.
"You saw them! I think the earth preserved them from the fire. There is still life in this forest.”
“But it's too deep," King breathes, "they are still alive, but they won't reach the surface and grow if we leave them there."
“Then we won’t. We are going to get them out.” Suddenly, Diane is holding both of his hands, looking at him with determination. "Dance with me."
It takes only a moment to understand what exactly she means. He can make the seeds into buds and trees, but with feet and feet of ground separating them from the soil, it will be easier if the earth opens for them.
"Of course," he says as they stand up together. Sliding one of her hands from his, she starts.
This is not by any means the first time they’ve danced together, nor the first time they have combined their powers like this. Yet King feels clumsy and stumbles on his feet as he follows Diane's smooth movements. She doesn't say anything and continues to dance, adapting her movements to his and giving him time to pick up the pace. His throat feels dry, his chest tight - he is nervous, more than any other time, maybe because he needs to make this right, to give this place another chance to live after he failed his duty to protect it.
He breathes in, out, trying to calm the pulse of his heart, and stops thinking about his next step, his focus shifting to the seeds. They are there, tiny and weak, and he keeps looking for them, finding more and more. His magic gently envelops them and then pours inside them, growing them slowly. Around them, the earth opens, like lungs too long contracted and finally given the chance to breathe. King is only partly aware of the way the ground trembles under his feet, but he can feel Diane's magic radiating from it as she delicately pulls the seeds outwards using her control over the earth. They are still dancing, their bodies finally moving in harmony, and when Diane pirouettes in his arms their hands touch oh so slightly - and under them, the seeds keep growing and rising until they are emerging from the ground like tiny green stars on the dark soil. King doesn't stop though, not yet, nourishing them with his magic, pushing them further - just a little more, till they will be strong enough.
And then they stop. King gasps for air, his eyes snapping open; Diane's face is inches from his, her body in his arms with their hands still connected. Her cheeks are flushed and her eyes feverish, but she is grinning widely as she whispers, "We did it."
She is right. All around them, among the dead trees, saplings raise their thin branches to the sky and tiny bushes cover their roots. They are not many, yet, but it's a start. A laugh escapes his lips and he takes Diane's face into his hands before kissing her, again and again; he can feel her laugh too against his lips.
Before they leave, Diane carefully shapes the earth so that the wood will have enough water to grow while King finally lets the old trees decompose. They turn into dust under his power almost gratefully, as they were waiting for it. Part of him can’t help but mourn them, as he mourns the times he used to fly between their branches with his sister - and Helbram and Oslo and all the friends he lost. He will hold the memories dear in his heart, but finally, he thinks as the last tree crumbles into ashes, he can let this place go.
He turns back only once as he flies away with Diane in his arms. The wood looks so young, so different from the forest where he grew up, but that’s fine. It will grow into something new - something that will survive, he promises to himself. Even the earth looks healthier and softly embraces and supports the new trees, though its pitch-black colour remains. But ... maybe it’s the green of the new leaves, maybe it’s the fact that his heart is much lighter than when they arrived, but as he looks at it, King feels for the first time like the darkness of the dirt doesn’t mean death. It means life.

I like Mortlach, also because I have a feeling Ironside obscured some details around Percy and Diodra to him as well, so he’d be more upset. Idk I just see that being possible because Ironside sucks!!!! (I feel like Percy will just do enough damage to get out of there and then heal him because he’s Percy)
At this point, we have to worry about ANY chaos knight being marked for death since Arthur can just…do that 🥲
That being said, I think Mortlach is too important to Percy’s story that he won’t die now, at least not before something important is revealed (I hope not!!)
I have mixed feelings about Lance, I’m okay with him being the strongest, but the issue is that he just doesn’t seem to struggle 😭 I wish the Nanashi fight at least gave us that, I really just want to see him faced with a fight he doesn’t know if he can win. And him getting the sword might make him stronger so. I love Lance as a character so I’m just gonna hope Nakaba has a plan for the power scaling and roll with it
my random thoughts on recent chapters
I don’t think percival has the heart to kill somebody, so I hope mortlach just gets knocked out even if it doesn’t look like it
idk man I just like him yk? he’s greasy, funny and just wants to protect diodora which I find endearing and tragic at the same time <\3
but arthur’s way of dispatching him to the mission just felt like a huge death flag for him, especially with how all the chaos nights are being treated in the series.
Also, Nanashi’s defeat was something I didn’t expect tbh, it kinda bothers me because it was stated that his power was comparable to the ones of the archangels.. But I guess making lance the strongest is the best option to make the four knights be feared to some degree.
Lance balances them all out in strength because at least arthur and his knights have something to beware of, but seeing him win so many times can get a bit boring at least for me
But I don’t hate lance tbh, He reminds me of Gojo in a way lol and he is so endearing.

13 for gowther
fandom ask meme (only doing nnt)
13. unpopular opinion about XXX character?
um... where do i even start. i have many unpopular opinions for gowther, my biggest being one that i have an unfinished essay written up for, cemented my dislike of the fandom, immediately made people dislike meeeee... i’ll start light. 1.i’m glad gowther completed his arc but i’ll always prefer awkward emotionless gowther. it sucks because once he got his heart, he seemed to just lose a lot of what gave him an identity, writing-wise. and his main purpose turned into being an exposition dump or solving other people’s problems. 2. gowther/nadja was cute and he has the best gaiden imo but i don’t think they would hold much water outside the gaiden. he will always have more chemistry with slader to me, despite most of that chemistry existing before he had emotions... god i miss gowther/slader. why is nakaba allergic to people being able to move on from their partners... okay anyways 3. my major one is like... okay... so we just aren’t going to say he assaulted guila? we’re going to keep dancing around the words, still? people acted like i was ridiculous for even trying to apply that lens to it and i felt like i was losing my mind at the time. i nearly dropped the manga, because i couldn’t read through it. the way the whole situation was approached by everyone still gets me mad like, now. mad forever. because that’s what he did, that is what happened. and it’s so frustrating to me because there’s such a conflict in the fact he IS one of my favorite characters, and his motivations were certainly... abnormal. given the circumstances of who he is, i still think it would have been completely possible to redeem him, even for this situation. but the situation both got completely toned down and he never had to take accountability for it. it felt like we were actually going to get that closure, but... oh lord i’ll stop here. like i said i have an unfinished essay about this. the narrative and the strange writing decisions. maybe one day i will finish it. the “extent” of it being like... "not that bad” was a really fucked up perspective to have on the situation. still highly traumatic and wrong!
#nnt fandom uses its one braincell to think sentences like 'she wasnt assaulted she was just forced into--'#Anonymous

What advice do you have people just getting into writing? I adore your writing and you inspire me to maybe try my hand at it but have no idea where to start or how to plan, etc. So what is your advice?
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Hello and thank you for the ask. I will give advice but please know I am not an expert so everything I have to say is just my own personal things that have worked for me. Everyone is different and people develop skills in their own ways so don’t be afraid to explore other methods.
My first piece of advice- don’t be afraid to write badly. What I mean by this is if you focus so much on the details and the ‘correctness’ of everything it will take the fun out of it. What you want is to write often, whether bad or not, so however you can get yourself to do that, do that. As you go you can see what you do like about your writing, what you don't, what you want to change, and the more you write the better you get. So, at the start go short, sweet, and fun. A ficlet to dip your toe in and get that feeling of accomplishment as writing takes a lot of time and if you start off with a 20+chapter fic it can feel overwhelming. So, just write and worry about polishing it up after it’s finished. The skills will come with time and once the writing habit is locked in then the 20+ chapter fics will be much easier to wrap your head around.
My second piece of advice- when you are reading something you love, figure out why. I will read a book, stew over it for days and then read it again with a critical eye. What about that piece sucks you in? How is the pacing? Go as deep as you can to find out themes/character quirks and such to use for yourself. Once you can peel those layers back it's much easier to build your own layers in your own work.
Third- Researching and borrowing from many different sources is not stealing. I know a lot of brilliant writers and a lot of them get hung up on not having ‘The Idea’. I do get it, really... but what I mean is that no idea is completely original. Demons are not an original idea. Goddesses are not an original idea. Demons and goddesses together- not original. Fairies, giants, and so on (you get it)... those are all borrowed things that Nakaba used to make something bleeping amazing, something all his own with things he has borrowed. So, don’t feel bad if you like a theme or ‘echo’ something as long as you make it your own and write it in full yourself. (I am not okay with plagiarism to be clear and I hope my point is made well here.)
Fourth- get the free add-on ‘Grammarly’ for your google docs or some other editing program. It is not always right, so question it, but it’s a helpful tool that even gives you report cards. I love it. It does not replace having a beta, which I also very much recommend for the other story elements, pacing, consistencies, and such so if you can find a friend to swap stories with- that relationship can be priceless. (Even when they are fleeting, sharing your obsessions is a kind of friendship that, for me at least, is deep and endearing.)
This is getting long, I’m sorry. But as for planning and starting... There are a lot of templates online for different genres. Do some digging and once you pick one and know it, break all the rules. (hahaha). It’s a great way to start, how to put your ideas in order but once you have it down, don’t let it cripple you. Trust your own mind, challenge yourself but have fun. Fun is really the most important thing because you have to find joy in it for yourself- as trust me, writing is pretty thankless. (😂😂😂😂😭) Outside validation is nice and can utterly make my week, don’t get me wrong, but if I relied on it to write nothing would get written.
Sooooo... Good luck! Writing is one of my great loves in life so I am utterly thrilled to have inspired you. If any aspiring writer wants to chat, I’m around. I don’t have as much time for beta’ing as I did before but I’ll always try to help- especially fanfictions about my favorite ship. 😉

Agreed ‼️‼️🤘👍👍👍 nakaba needs to include lancelot more in percy group because lately it is lancelot like lancelot isnt a part of the group to be honest. Ever since I reveal himself as a human/fairy hybrid
By the way whats a unpopular opinion seven Deadly sins:Four knights of the apocalypse ? Or a thing most people in the fanbase agree on but you don't?
That tristan group is boring. Not the characters tho! It feels like isolde, chion and jade only revolve around tristan. In my opinion. They need to also see their own goals and desirs it feels like they are only there for tristan.
Unlike percival group(and lancelot yes he is a part of the group ofc!)it is not the same percy group helps eachother and believe in one in other! To put in to place percy group has a different dynamic compare to tristans group. And what you think about Chion,Jade Isolde? Tell your honest opinion.
Yeah, the Tristan Platoon is kinda cult-y :p
Uh, I really like Jade. It sucks that the only tolerable member of that team died.
Chion is just the absolute worst. Sympathy for the Vivian related trauma, but he still sucks.
Isolde is...ok, I guess? I kinda forgot she existed, honestly xD
I have a couple of opinions that go against the grain in the fandom, but my most unpopular one revolves around Guinevere. You maybe have noticed that you can't send me asks ananomously. That's cuz I got harassed for, like, 2 weeks straight for saying she acts like a normal 12 year old and doesn't deserve to be hated so viciously. Someone kept making new accounts to keep harassing me after I blocked them, they started leaving petty comments on unrelated posts, they called me really awful things. It was terrible.
Honestly, I'm kinda anxious answering this cuz I don't want it to pick back up again...
Oh, another (less anxiety inducing) thing is that I hate the Tristan/Lancelot ship :p

EXACTLY like they were a group for who knows how long and they absolutely felt betrayed by what Meliodas did by leaving so like the fact we didn’t get to see all of their reactions besides for some and how they felt about it so sucks
Cause you can tell me they didn’t develop at least a little bit of care towards Meliodas when he lead them because they absolutely did and the fact we never got to see them or even with Zeldris’s group like bond or spend time together makes me so mad like they were a group for so long and you mean to tell me they didn’t just spend time off hanging out or even killing dragons or some shit CAUSE NO THEY TOTALLY DID
Like I don’t care that it didn’t fit into the main storyline Nakaba I wanted to see them feel like a genuine group not just a bunch of demons who feel like they were forced to be together and just tolerate each other’s presence LIKE WHERES THE BONDING UGHHHHHHH
I also forget sometimes Mel killed them because ya know for something that was a big deal Nakaba never brings it up again lol
Okay ngl I'm losing it a bit over this...
He called her MELA!!
(and I am once again wishing we had gotten to know more about Mel's relationship with the 10C BEFORE the betrayal)

Hello! could you do some headcanons of how sins would be taken along with Elaine and Elizabeth with Zeldris and Gelda
sure thing! I’m not sure what you mean by ‘taken’ so I’m gonna assume that you mean the interactions they all have together? If that’s not what you meant feel free to elaborate in the ask box and I’ll answer it x
Elizabeth
-mainly hangs with Meliodas and Diane
-only really hangs with King after he and Diane get into a relationship. She makes clothes with him sometimes
-She’s kinda scared of Ban but she sucks it up and tries to talk to him. They mainly talk when he’s drunk
-she’s stuck to Gowther more since he’s got his emotions. He tells her stories of her aunt and it’s quite emotional.
-she’s Merlin’s sis sis! she always looks out for her when she can. Usually tries to talk to her about her experiments and her day
-she always reads Escanor’s poems! She loves them! She’ll always ask if he’s written any more!
-treats Zeldris like he’s her brother too. She looks out for him.
Elaine
-clings to Ban, Elizabeth and Diane
-Elizabeth and Diane are her first girl friends and they go clothes shopping and do all the cute things together and she’s so happy!
-She’s cool with Meliodas. She wants to be on better terms with him because she knows he will be the best man at her future wedding but she doesn’t know how.
-she absolutely bullies King with Ban. She will tell Ban off for bullying literally anyone except King.
-Once she tried to read Gowther’s mind, but Gowther knew she was doing it so he thought “oh hi Elaine” and scared her. Now they regularly greet each other in the headspace.
-Frequently asks people for embarrassing memories about King
-She’s not one for poetry, but her and Escanor bond over their love of different arts. She will rant to him about one thing, and then he will respond by ranting about poems
-Her and Merlin talk sometimes. That’s about it, she’s kinda scared of Merlin.
-Doesn’t particularly mix with Zeldris either.
Gelda
-please let her hang with Elizabeth, Diane and Elaine Nakaba she deserves girl friends
-She kinda sticks to Zeldris but then also wants to hang with everyone I guess?
-She thinks Ban is a vampire at first. He tells her that he is not, and then they become drinking buddies. It’s as simple as that
-Her and King are cool I guess? King is kinda scared of her
-her and Gowther both get beheaded and then reattach their heads so they’re obviously a team. They have a tally of who’s had their limbs severed the most. Gowther is winning
-She hangs with Merlin. They’re both mature women so they have mature chats (jk they mess around with Orlondi and bully him)
-Escanor wrote a poem about her because he though she was super cool. She was flattered and they became acquaintances
-she’s cool with Meliodas. He tells her embarrassing stories about Zeldris and it gets wild
Zeldris
-He’s too edgy to make friends
-He mainly hangs out with Gelda and Meliodas. Sometimes Merlin
-him and Gowther have a weird relationship. They both remember each other vividly but they don’t hold anything against each other. It’s like “You tried to kill my dad for escaping prison but it’s cool tho. I ain’t stressin”
-Diane really wants to be his friend. She’ll try to talk to him, invite him everywhere. He usually declines due to not wanting to open up, but sometimes he comes along and he has fun (he won’t admit it). Diane won’t stop trying to be his buddy
-he opens up to Ban once because they were both reaallllly drunk. Ban somehow still remembers and Zeldris is embarrassed
-He chills with Merlin and asks her about the situations of the demon clan. He pretends that’s the main reason he came but we all know he also wanted the company
I’m sorry if this isn’t what you wanted, but once again if it’s not please ask again!
Have a lovely evening! 💛

So when king the fairy king harlequin dies who do you think will be the next queen or king? Because the 3rd fairy king is the very last fairyking right?
Hello Anon! Thank you for the ask!
Okay, first of all, why do you think the third Fairy King will be the last? Has it been said somewhere? I don’t remember! (But it could also be because my memory sucks so if you remember something I don’t, please share!)
I don’t think King will be the last Fairy King honestly, and even though I’m not sure at all about who the next Fairy King could be, I have some theories!
I admit I like to think that the Sacred Tree will choose one of King and Diane’s children as the next Fairy King in case something happens to King. What can I say, I just love the idea their kids taking their parents’ roles eventually and protecting their home! There is also the fact that King and Diane seem determined to merge their Clans, so it’s possible that even after they’ll be dead, their Clan will stay together, so there could be two ruler collaborating or even just one ruler for both the Clans.
Another option is that the Sacred Tree will choose an entirely different Fairy for the Fairy King’s role in case King dies. After all, it’s the Sacred Tree that decides and it could want to give this role to one of his “creations”. (This could be interesting because it would introduce an entirely new character ... I’m not against this at all!)
But I honestly hope I will not find out because this would mean that King will have to die or that he would be forced to leave/renounce to his role somehow and I don’t want this! Please Nakaba, leave this Fairy boy alone, he suffered enough!
(I admit I’m also curious though...)
#ask#anonymous#nnt#seven deadly sins#king harlequin#thank you for asking anon!#i thought about this#but really if you want to explain to me why you think king will be the last fairy king please do!#I am curious!#i love theories!#i'm super weak for kiane kids continuing their parents' doing to be honest#but we will see#we don't even know the child's name!
