So like Katy Manning auditioned with contacts and didn't tell anyone how blind she was
But then they made her take them out, presumably because old hard contacts reflected studio lights
and I think, although I'm not 100% sure, that Katy's what really established the trope of the Doctor grabbing a companion's hand to run
and even the Master (gentleman that he was) led Jo by the arm after poor Katy supposedly ran into a tree and knocked herself out
anyway I like to headcanon that Jo was as blind as Katy, keeping her disability a secret so she wouldn't be tossed out of UNIT, but the Doctor just worked with it. He's used to his human friends having various physical limitations, so what's one more or less? He provides a steadying hand when he can, and they manage just fine.
It's part of what the Master finds baffling, although after Jo threw off his mind control he began to understand what the Doctor saw in these creatures despite their obvious deficiencies.

anyways it wasn't chibbs decision to make 13->11 eps long season, to switch xmas specials with new year ones, flux production was a NIGHTMARE (also led to chris and jodie declining other offers bc of the contract), he did want to have 3 seasons (and not ,w with exiting in 2022 btw), saturday->sunday timeslot again not his idea, he did want to make spin offs but there was 0 budget for it and he also said he eas reassured by bbc that the show won't end with his last ep.
it was all bbc's decisions.
I know I don't have any nmds/chibnall haters as my followers but i do hope this post may reach them bc there were many things said about him and about half of them: about those particular parts.

If I have to suffer with medical testing, so do my favorites
Molly especially, because she's a doctor and I think it's funny if she's medically zonked
Self projection at its finest, I think

my new head canon is that right after broken — when ianto and jack agree to be together only for one night — ianto didn’ t really want / need to have sex and jack knew that.
they kissed each other a lot (spoiler: they made out for only god knows how long) and once they arrived to the bedroom jack broke the moment without scaring ianto away; he took his clothes off and stripped ianto of his, he slowly laid him on the bed and kissed his nose, his lips and went down to his jaw, neck and chest.
jack kissed every inch of his skin taking his time, he wanted ianto to feel everything ianto prohibited himself: lips on his, warmth, hands exploring his body, being appreciated — held, perhaps even feeling loved for a few instants.
ianto was probably too broken to care about jack would do with and to him, he just wanted to feel something, anything that would numb his heart and fog his mind; his body responded to jack’ s in a way that did not reflect what was going in his mind and despite the lust and apparent consent jack did not dare to do anything that would go beyond appreciating ianto through kissing and touching him.
jack held ianto in his arms and i’ d like to think that ianto felt so overwhelmed that at one point a few tears fell from his eyes without him even noticing and jack kissed away every single one of them until ianto calmed down a little and eventually fell asleep, his body exhausted and his heart a little less broken.

I'm like gradually becoming more physically disabled and am now at the point I can't work. I just can't. I'm too fatigued and dizzy and in pain and physically weak to keep going. I've been through a gamut of specialist visits, all providing no answers.
My primary care doctor has officially given up on me, basically told me to just start popping painkillers and suck it up. That this is my own fault for stopping antidepressants, when said antidepressants left me malnourished due to low appetite, and once I stopped, my physical health and motivation had a marked window of improvement. At least until whatever this is started.
I can't work like this. I can't easily apply for disability bc my pcp has turned on me and won't give me a diagnosis. He has refused further testing. I'm so tired of fighting. I'm so so tired.

Guess who’s wearing a back brace now because my back hurts from years of terrible posture? That’s right me! And it feels like wearing one of those Victorian corsets that are tight around your rib cage.
