man okay so I used to play mechquest and dragonfable back in like, 2008 when I was a kid with very little patience to follow a storyline. coming back as an adult and finishing mechquest has absolutely slapped me silly with how deep and serious the story is in between all the absurdist humour. I have. so many emotions over the whole storyline, and especially so many thoughts about the unique form of tragedy that is The Reset.

You save the world but it's not the world anymore. You and your friends survive but you don't know each other anymore- have nothing left of the lives you fought to keep. You 'save' everything but it's still all gone. Everything you knew and loved, gone, and you don't even know what you've lost. You can't even keep the memory of what you had- and that's almost kinder compared to being one of the 3ish people who DO remember... and have to live around everyone else who doesn't, knowing their closest friends look at them and see a stranger, and that they may as well be because they aren't that person they remember being.

And to top it all off, that terrible sacrifice doesn't even end it. you're still left fighting impossible and devastating wars over and over. It's the tragedy of doomed time loops with extra layers of devastating all over the place. The GEARS University students being forced to become soldiers because they're all that's left to protect their homeworld. The horrors of the Shadowscythe virus taking over friends and loved ones you may be forced to put down to save yourself. The town of Falconreach burning over and over because no matter how hard they fight, it's never enough. The people like Sha'rae who sacrifice themselves to try and prevent tyrrany from seizing power, only for it to be utterly useless.

Anyway the brainrot is severe and especially dangerous since I'm coming into exam season and all my hyperfixated brain wants to do is chew on glass about these games.

I think he struggle a lot with that and not knowing how to recognize it. He wants to conform but not in a toxic masculinity way so he's trying to tell the difference. the issue is conforming should never really be a goal in the first place. so his strat isn't working well.

firstly i'm not sure if he's exactly aroace but he's defo on the spectrum.

i feel like one of them (romantically or sexually) it's all way ace/aro and the other is either grey or demi. dunno which one. maybe it switched around every now and then

i feel he doesn't often have opinions but when he does they are Very Strong opinions and he will kill you on the hill he dies on

he strikes me as the guy who's had a lot of things happen to him but either was never told it was explicitly wrong or there was never really time to address.

because of that he doesn't react to a whole lot. nothing phases him because he was never given a chance to be phased. never given a chance to express how he feels about things so it just became in his nature to move on quickly. oh god i'm project so hard wow

it takes him a while to sift through the facts of the situation and actually get to how he feels about it. you ask him how he's doing and he probably doesn't answer at first but if you're close enough for him to give you a real answer he'd just state the facts of his current condition. if you're lucky he might consider how that would make the average person feel afterwards and then say that. how does he actually feel about it? huh. um. it's whatever, he guesses

I don't need realistic graphics!!! Just a simple cute player character and lots and lots of clothes (easier to put on simple characters!) and furniture...and I also think life sims with dating Now are kinda polarizing wrt art styles and (lack of) diversity which is why I do actually wish u cld date in AC and such (well not anymore since the franchise has gotten a bit sour to me)...

this isn't even just me "being a furry" since a lot of characters in magician's quest are like. living objects. i was dating a TV when I last played 😭 but ykwim...it's less about being a furry or w/e and more it's much easier to project traits onto "Universal" cute designs and silhouettes than hoping that 1. the art style for the human characters is pleasing to you 2. hoping there's a character that's your type 2a. picking between potentially samefaced characters 3. why's there always just one non white person 4. where are all the fat and old people 5. -

when it originally aired, it showed the actor for c.w. mildly younger holding the nebula award when it claims he is a nebula award-winning writer during the "advert" pre-credit scene.

now, it shows the actor who played c.w. in the season two "backstory!" episode holding the award and footage of the award ceremony instead!
