WHAT'S YOUR ROLE IN A FOUND FAMILY DYNAMIC?
Tumblr media
THE BRAINS
people are not so much your forte. you are more at home with thoughts, ideas, hobbies, skills. as such, you probably have to learn how to work well with others--but once you do, hey, it has its moments. while you are treasured for your ability to solve problems, people also have this unique love of novelty. when you break from your schedule, when you say something no one is expecting--that's novel. you are as curious and lovable as the subjects you study. you are family. this place is not the same without your witty comments and wry observations. you definitely feel more comfortable when someone needs a straightforward answer than a shoulder to cry on, but it's not impossible to give both. know that your family loves you for more than that, though, and will (usually) remember to respect your boundaries.

An electrical engineering major at Penn State just clinched the first US men's gymnastics team medal in a generation with his routine in the pommel horse, his only event.
He's two shades paler than even the other white guys on the team, he wears glasses that would be appropriate for a stock IT character in a serial crime drama on CBS, he squints at the apparatus when he takes the glasses off, and he fucking nailed it.
I love this guy so much.

Euronymous writing in Russian + my commentary.
About the 2nd one: he probably spelled "народов" ("peoples") as "нородов" because of the stupid Russian grammar, which sometimes makes no sense. Maybe he thought there should be two о's. Like in "городов" ("cities"). 🤔 He probably forgot how to spell these words and tried to guess based on how he remembered them to sound and tried to apply logic.
Original pictures.

I'm also super torn on whether or not Dave was homeschooled, but what if Bro just kind of... Did neither? Or maybe Dave went to like kindergarten/Pre-K or like first grade and then Bro pulled him? Just very minimal schooling. It's so tough!
i use 2 be fully on the home school side but then these three posts made me reconsider... n now im unsure which way i lean......

newsies fandom I love you dearly, but why do we reference the time period that newsies takes place in as the 'Victorian Era" when we have another term that quite literally describes the period of history and the place that newsies is set in?
If you didn't know, the Victorian Era is tied directly to the history of Great Britain and coincides with Queen Victoria's reign from 1837 to 1901. It was a time of social reform and significant advances in science and technology.
In the United States, we have a term that refers to the period after the American Civil War or the 1870s to 1890s. This term is the "Gilded Age". The Gilded Age in US history was so named because it was a time of political corruption and serious social problems (like child labor, poverty, and Jim Crow laws) thinly veiled or "gilded" by a golden mask of economic expansion and industrialization.
The newsboys' strike of 1899 was set against the backdrop of the Gilded Age, not the Victorian Era. It might seem like a small thing to nitpick, and both periods bare resemblance to each other, but I swear it's so important when looking at the history and the context of the time.

I love weirdos. I love people who have walls covered with manga pages and anime posters. I love people who have way too many stuffed animals and toys strewn about. I love people who have little space in their rooms and homes because they’re full of bookshelves for their figures, manga, books, comics, toys, etc. I love people who wear weird things like “cringe” merch, stuffed animal bags, cloaks, capes, etc. I love people who experiment with unconventional makeup. I love people with mullets or shaved heads. I love people who complete their looks with fishnets and colored contacts. I love people who have half finished cosplays in their closets. I love people who write and read fanfiction. I love people who make fan art, whether it’s “sellable” or not. I love punks, lolitas (the Japanese alt scene), scene queens, emos, bimbos, femmes, butches, studs, drag performers, etc. I love furries and therians. I love witches and pagans. I love the people on the outskirts. The weirdos. The freaks. The undesirables. Because in them I don’t just see myself, I see joy. The reality that life can be lived authentically in countless ways. I see that we cannot be doomed to conformity or homogeny. We are vibrant, we are beautiful. We are worth saving. Life is good. Life is fun.
