Okay so let me ramble about a really, REALLY cool game!!!

Mad Rat Dead!!!

Mad Rat Dead is a rhythmic platformer made and published by Nippon Ichi Software. It's also released on the 29th of October, 2020 on both the Nintendo Switch and PS4.

So this game is about a rat named... Mad Rat. He was supposed to die, but got revived by this "Rat God" for one final day to fulfil his wish: Enacting revenge on the scientist who had him. Oh and said Rat God looks like this:

Okay so, the soundtrack is really, REALLY good, and includes Camellia... yes, the same exact Camellia who's very, VERY infamous for making really fast songs for rhythm games.

Oh and warning for blood, cartoon gore, body horror and such. It is a game about death after all-

Nothing really, but they said that they saw it while driving at night.

Apparently it was on the side of the road, just standing there. They described it as really tall and lanky-looking, with some diamonds making a sort of "crown" on its head.

There are two things this Project consists of: Solarclock Lepigriffs and Moonmoth Clockworks.

Solarclock Lepigriffs is the general worldbuilding project. This is based around the lepigriffs, sapient moth/ bird-like creatures, and their culture and environment. This is heavily based on solarpunk, clockpunk, art deco and art noveau, with a slight dash of biopunk.

Lepigriffs are the sapient species of Solarclock Lepigriffs. They are anthromorphic moth-like creatures, with bird-like faces and talons. They tend to be 4-5 feet tall and very light. Their colouration tend to mimic real-life moth, butterfly, dragonfly and wasp species. They have large eyes with slightly elliptical pupils, with black, brown, gold, green, blue or even red iris and dark sclera.

They're also based on various moth species and can have tail wings! However, they can't be based on insects that aren't moths/ butterflies.

Moonmoth Clockworks is a series of short stories focusing on Sula, a timid lepigriff artist, and her friend Ashworth. It's mostly slice-of-life stuff, and you can read the first part here.

Unfortunately, as you can see, I... didn't really managed to write much (*Cough* Too many things and not knowing what to focus on *Cough Cough*)

Okay here's a question for you, because Summum is on the brain:

How would y'all's respective AU takes on Summum react to a starlet/starlets? Whether that be holding one, just discovering one, being shown one, what have you. What would the response be, how would they feel about this??

Cuz Eclipsed Summum is like... immediate dad mode mixed with "wait they're so incredibly tiny I'm scared to touch them I might break them."

Hey! It's been a while! Hope you and those two creatures are doing okay! You haven't been posting, so I'm kinda worried-

Have you heard anything else about these mysterious creatures?

Yeah, I'm doing quite fine. I'm just busy with work at the moment, but the holidays are coming up so I would hopefully be more active again.

Barguese and White Shuck are both good! White Shuck seems a little bit antsy again, but nothing major.

Some of my other coworkers mentioned seeing similar creatures, the most notable one being this tall orange thing. But most were just those little spider dudes, they are pretty cute. Apparently someone took one in as a pet and it's a surprisingly decent pet? Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to require any food nor water to survive.

Also on the feathers, I noticed they are popping up again. Some even seem to be sparking with blue electricity of some kind? It's really weird.

Plus one time while I was outside in the backyard, waiting for those two, I swear I saw a big white thing sprinting into the woods.

I will, I'll try my best to not get myself into trouble.

Lepigriffs have clutches of 1-3 eggs, the chicks are initially naked and blind but they grow quite quickly, like they take at least 3 weeks to develop feathers and eyesight. Lepigriffs become mature at 20 years, and live up to 70 years on average.

Basically Lepigriffs chicks are very cute! They have big ol' eyes and are very, VERY fluffy with their downy feathers. Colouration tend to mimic the lavae of the bug species that they'll resemble at adulthood, with some markings based on game species (Specifically little stripes and spots).

One question is if the six-eared macaque is a negative aspect of Sun Wukong's personality, that means that the other two mystical monkeys are also aspects of the personality except that unlike the Macaque, they are both positive aspects or simply part of Sun's personality. and the reason why they do not appear directly or are agonistic in jttw is because they do not go against the path of Buddhist enlightenment

I've also speculated that the other two cestial primates are aspects of Sun Wukong's mind. An update to my Six Ears article reads:

I'm not really sure why the other two don't explicitly appear in the narrative. But I do know that, including Sun Wukong, the four celestial primates mirror the four kinds of monkeys and apes living on Flower-Fruit Mountain. As I write here, chapter one reads:

The Handsome Monkey King thus led a flock of gibbons [yuanhou, 猿猴], macaques [mihou, 獼猴], and horse-monkeys [mahou, 馬猴], some of whom were appointed by him as his officers and ministers (based on Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 1, p. 106). 美猴王領一群猿猴、獼猴、馬猴等，分派了君臣佐使。

The gibbons are also called "long-armed gibbons" (tongbei yuanhou, 通背猿猴; lit: "(arms)-through-the-back gibbons"). [1] (This refers to the belief that the long, agile arms of the gibbon were somehow connected (i.e. tongbi, 通臂), passing through the back (i.e. tongbei, 通背) (Gulik, 1967, p. 92-93).) The horse-monkeys are also called "red-buttocked horse-monkeys" (chikao mahou, 赤尻馬猴). [2] These terms are important to remember.

Here is the list of the four celestial primates:

Stone-Monkey of Numinous Wisdom (Lingming shihou, 靈明石猴) - i.e. Sun Wukong

Red-Buttocked Horse-Monkey (Chikao mahou, 赤尻馬猴) - The exact same kind as that mentioned above.

Long-Armed Gibbon (Tongbi yuanhou, 通臂猿猴; lit: "Connected Arms Gibbon") - As mentioned above, tongbi (通臂) and tongbei (通背) refer to the ape's long arms.

Six-Eared Macaque (Liu'er mihou, 六耳獼猴)

The apes and monkeys of Flower-Fruit Mountain and the Four Celestial Primates both include Sun Wukong (i.e. the Stone Monkey), Red-Buttocked Horse-Monkeys (Chikao mahou), Long-Armed Gibbons (Tongbei and Tongbi), and Macaques (mihou), one of which has Six Ears (Liu'er). Therefore, the two groups are practically the same.

Based on this, a person might suggest that if one celestial primate (Sun Wukong) is born on Flower-Fruit mountain, then others can be, too. This opens the door to all four of the celestial primates having been born (or at least manifesting) there. And since Six-Ears is an aspect of Monkey's mind, the missing two celestial apes could be as well.

I should note that Wukong's Four Might Commanders are two long-armed (tongbei) gibbons and two red-buttocked horse-monkeys. Someone could suggest that two of them make up the missing celestial primates. But they are never shown to have great powers, just knowledge about the world outside of Flower-Fruit Mountain.

In the end, though, the missing celestial primates may not appear simply because they are not important to the overall narrative.

Notes:

1) Yu (Wu & Yu, 2012) incorrectly translates tongbei yuanhou (通背猿猴) as "bare back monkey" (vol. 1, p. 131).

2) Yu (Wu & Yu, 2012) incorrectly translates this as "baboon" (vol. 1, p. 106). The horse-monkey was a nickname for the macaques placed in horse stables to keep away sickness (refer to here).
