Here are the transcriptions of the Backstory for Rook's factions in the Character Creator (with the different pronouns available + surnames):
GREY WARDENS
Surname: Thorne
BACKSTORY
Shield Against the Night
When innocent lives were at stake, Rook led the charge, saving a village from a monstrous nightmare--no matter the cost to herself/himself/themselves.
During a large darkspawn incursion, Rook was ordered to hold the line with other Grey Wardens until reinforcements arrived. Rook argued that by then, villagers under attack would be dead. She/He/They disobeyed orders, leading the squad into the incursion and sealing the tunnel to the Deep Roads. This turned the tide, and the darkspawn were driven off, which saved the villagers. Rook's heroism was popular among the younger Wardens, but others with connections to noble families resented her/his/their independent streak. Rook chose to step away while tempers cooled.
VEIL JUMPERS
Surname: Aldwir
BACKSTORY
Hunter of Secrets
When lives were at stake, Rook defied orders to rescue people from the mystic perils of Arlathan.
On an expedition to ruins in Arlathan Forest, the Veil jumpers found ruins that contained important lost lore and deadly danger. Barely surviving the ruins' ancient magical defenses, Rook's small team recovered and invaluable map leading to a hidden area of the forest. Although the team escaped, other Veil Jumpers found themselves trapped. Rook chose to return to the ruins, saving her/his/their teammates' lives, but losing the map. She/He/They was/were lauded for her/his/their bravery, but the map's loss caused some resentment among Veil Jumper leaders.
SHADOW DRAGONS
Surname: Mercar
BACKSTORY
Breaker of Bonds
Rook risked everything to liberate the enslaved people of Tevinter, even knowing it would anger the ruling elite.
The foundling Rook was adopted into a military family and joined the Shadow Dragons to fight from the shadows for change in Minrathous. While guarding a visiting dignitary who was investigating a slavery ring in the nearby city of Nessus, Rook concluded that the mission would fail without throwing caution to the wind. Alone, she/he/they sneaked the dignitary deep into Venatori-controlled zones and brought him back, along with the rescued slaves. These actions brought Rook to the Venatori's attention, and the Shadow Dragons decided to keep Rook out of sight.
LORDS OF FORTUNE
Surname: Laidir
BACKSTORY
Seeker of Gold and Glory
When a corrupt Rivaini noble double-crossed Rook, Rook escaped a collapsing ruin, turned the tables, and destroyed a dangerous artifact.
A rising Lord of Fortune, skilled at breaking into lost tombs and ruins, Rook killed a corrupt Rivaini noble to prevent an ancient evil from being given to the Venatori. Her/His/Their actions were correct and saved the lives of expedition members, but some Rivaini nobles were resentful. Because the success of the Lords' expeditions relied on Rivaini authorities looking the other way, it seemed wise for Rook to step away while tempers settled.
MOURN WATCH
Surname: Ingellvar
BACKSTORY
Defender of the Dead
When restless spirits threatened the inhabitants of the Grand Necropolis, Rook took the decisive action to protect both the living and the dead.
Discovered by undead inside a Grand Necropolis tomb as an infant, Rook was raised by Mourn Watch necromancers, eventually joining the order. During a "civil war" between undead nobility, known later as the War of the Banners, she/he/they led a daring attack on the rebellion's dueling leaders. It was a success, quelling the war and saving lives. But Rook's destruction of these undead nobles was controversial. Some Mourn Watchers feared Rook had offended the order's aristocratic patrons and encouraged her/him/them to travel for a while.
ANTIVAN CROWS
Surname: de Riva
BACKSTORY
Assassin Extraordinaire
When the invaders of Treviso took people captive, Rook was determined to free the prisoners at any cost.
A talented new Crow recently promoted to full membership, Rook chafed at the cautions of her/his/their commanders, especially with her/his/their city occupied by brutal soldiers known as the Antaam. When Rook saw a patrol herding along captives one night, she/he/they leaped into action. Despite saving lives, however, Rook had unknowingly compromised a larger Crow operation against the Antaam. Rook's superiors were incensed. Sidelined for her/his/their actions, the young assassin searched for new ways to prove herself/himself/themselves.

Current State of Self Care: hello pile one! It seems like you guys really like routine. I feel like this pile really likes spending time with animals and nature (some of you are farmers or gardeners), and you might feel disinterested with people and their “strange” activities as a whole. I also feel like you guys really like to do things during the day when the Sun is up. People might invite you out in the evening or night—maybe to casinos or clubs—but you’d rather not. You might prefer to do things alone, or to just spend your free time really peacefully instead of doing something that requires a lot of social energy. Totally understandable! Self Care Advice: you guys are encouraged to try new things that fall in line with your individuality. A large part of why this pile likes to stick to the familiar is because of past experiences when trying new things with others. I feel like you’ve tried to step outside your comfort zone before; you’ve been roped into the family vacations or group activities you didn’t want to do and it didn’t go well. Some of you have trouble meshing with the other people in your lives. So, instead of continuously ending up in uncomfortable situations, you’ve stuck to yourself and what you know. I see some of you feel limited due to your health or physical ability? However, there are things you can do in your home or in solitude to expand your world. Perhaps, you could try at-home hobbies, such as crochet. I see a lot of you would really enjoy solo travel. If you want to socialize, maybe you can do something chill with just one friend instead of 5, or do something online (an online event?). You guys have a sense of disbelief when it comes to new things, thinking if it can go wrong it will. But both great experiences and lessons come out of the unknown. You’re encouraged to allow yourself curiosity without compromising on your boundaries.

This pile might like to do very experimental or impulsive things. Things that others are afraid of like zip lining or skydiving. Or, you might make decisions that others perceive as careless, like traveling on a random whim or suddenly moving. Many of you have already experienced living a limited life, or watched someone else spend their life without ever doing what they really wanted. You’d rather make security where you go and find what makes you happy instead of having external security with regret.
Self Care Advice: a lot of you use a super-free and independent lifestyle (or mindset) as a defense mechanism. The less attachments you have, the less chance to be hurt or stifled. You have a lot of fun chasing freedom, but I’m getting that you do it to the point where it’s not fun anymore. I sense a curious energy towards some kind of attachment; maybe you’re interested in what it would be like to be in a committed relationship, to move somewhere permanently, or to get a job that would require you to be more stationary. Some of you view spontaneity and freedom as a way to get the most of what you want while giving the least. But in truth, no matter what we do we exchange something. If you are always doing something new, you exchange possibilities that can only come from being still. And when you don't do new things, you exchange opportunities to explore. You’re being called to care for yourself by sitting down and deciding what you’re really drawn to. Maybe you don’t think you could be happy unless you adhere to your current lifestyle—like this is how you can protect yourself. There are many possibilities outside of current habits that can bring joy. Your energy reminds me of Sandy from Spongebob when she’s trying to do every extreme activity she can before she has to hibernate. You are not being asked to compromise who you are (the cards strongly emphasize that your uniqueness is amazing!), but instead to be open to what your soul is calling for—even if you’re not sure how it will go. You’re encouraged to face fears and apprehensions so you can emotionally appreciate your blessings. And as a lot of you are in relationships, this includes vulnerability with the other people (or person). Examine what in your life has made you feel the way you do today, and if it’s necessary to bring these mindsets forward. Your extra advice is to be real with yourself and know you have the strength and courage to express yourself authentically.

Current State of Self Care: hello pile three! I feel like your self care right now is not what most people consider self care. This is manifesting as more thought-based activities like researching, studying, meditating, brainstorming, and the like. I did get this stifled, antsy feeling when I connected to your energy; you might feel overwhelmed with your own brainstorming or with reality. Many of you are comforting yourself by dragging through this phase. Self Care Advice: you’re being called to be realistic with your time pile 3. I think you’ve enjoyed toying or flirting with ideas and not committing—and for a chunk of you this is literally about stringing someone along. What would be beneficial now is a re-evaluation of how you’re allocating time and energy. Eventually procrastination does become harmful—especially if other people are involved. I don’t feel this is necessarily the case for most yet; I see you've been able to bluff your way through life and take it day by day. But the time is coming where you’ll have to choose a path to take. I see many of you getting overwhelmed due to a lack of support and guidance. You might be surrounded by people who make you feel more confused, either because they can’t help you or because their advice doesn’t resonate with you. Some of you aren’t actually as unsure as you come across. You may be drawn to something already but it feels unconventional, and this instills doubt in you (or you might be afraid of financial instability too?). Whatever your situation is, protecting your energy will be helpful. When you feel pressure, you can redirect this into productivity instead of procrastination. You may have to draw back your energy from draining sources to better channel it into yourself. This includes protecting yourself from being swayed by what is not authentic to you. Even though you feel the weight of your life upon you, know that taking one path doesn’t mean you have to walk it forever. Current State of Self Care: hi pile four! This pile’s goal is to cope with the lack of control over their life. There’s a sense of feeling stuck in a free fall where you’re constantly pushed around by crazy, external forces. There could be a sense of repetitiveness too. For example, maybe you go to school or a job everyday, but there’s always an extreme deadline to meet. Or when you’re finally getting a grip on the last major life event, another one barrels you over. It seems like you’re constantly in a reactive state or tower moment. To cope, you might like to engage in the same things repeatedly for comfort. I’m also getting this pile might like to read up on their interests a lot in their free time; there’s emphasis on mental activities. You’re quite aware you need to balance constant stress with self care, but physically taking care of yourself may be difficult. For example, knowing you need extra sleep, healthy food, or exercise, but feeling like these are outside your capacity. Some of you may be drawn to pile 1; there’s very similar themes and details.
Self Care Advice: first of all, if you have pets, you’re encouraged to spend time destressing and cuddling with them as self care. But your main advice here is to plan. You may currently be in a space where it’s not easy to go and do new things. So, use this time to really lay out what you want. Don’t let yourself be discouraged by your current restraints. Think about what in your life you’d remove if you had the chance, and what you would pursue if you could. Writing it down could be helpful. This way, even if you can’t currently obtain those things, you’ll be ready if an opportunity comes your way. Instead of ruminating over whether you should or shouldn’t and miss it, you’ll know which path in the crossroads to take because you’ve done most of the thinking. Many of you may also feel tied down by people or duties around you. You’re being reminded that you don’t have to let everyone know your every plan. It’s easy to be influenced when you’re already under stress—or literally controlled by others. It’s ok to keep your thoughts to yourself or protect your future wishes from those who aren’t aligned with you. Sy shizun au
Sy transmitting as a random rogue cultivator many years before the protagonist is even born.
He starts looking for the protagonist but in the way he finds a homeless child that just looks like him, they are not the exact same, but they could easily pass as family. He ends up helping out this child, he felt strangely attached to him, bringing him to his lil cabin near a forest, one of his many hidden safe zones.
The child, Sj, comes in a package with his older brother? Yqy. The 3 of them don't start as teacher and students, much less a parental figure, Sy is not a child, but he must be just 5 or 6 years older than them, but Sy becomes a safe space, he provides them with basic necessities and more.
They grow up respecting him, and he teaches them what he knows, and could be useful. Thing is, the system determines that his work in that era is done, and needs to send Sy to fix the next problem, so one day, 4 years later after meeting his 2 lil gremlins, he goes into the forest, just a normal fauna and flora exploration for Sy, he goes alone with almost nothing, after all he is not going far, they all know this.
But Sy doesn't come back.
They wait until midnight
They are still searching by sunrise
They are losing hope after a week
They think that he must have abandoned them, it was too good to be true, but it still doesn't makes sense, Sy left most of his stuff in their little cabin, all his money, his sword, his trinkets, his fan. If he abandoned them, why did he leave all his stuff too?
They don't want to think that he may have died. It isn't fair. They would prefer that Sy just abandoned them, but they know (they hope) that Sy isn't like that. Years pass, and the plot somehow reconnects, Sj becomes a peak lord, and Yqy the sect leader, they gave up searching a long time ago and just accepted the most probable "truth" Lbh enters the story, and in one of his night hunts, he separates from the group.
He ends up in a section of the forest that looks a bit wilder, somehow more mystical. He reaches a big tree, ancient looking, it almost looks alive, and in the middle of it, there is this crystal, ancient amber filled and pumping with energy, maybe the beating heart of the forest? And there is something in the middle, a figure seemingly sleeping, it looks like his shizun, but not quite, maybe a bit younger, even Lbh doesn't realize until he has his hand pressed against the crystal, blood from his earlier wounds accidentally smeared against the amber, and the figure opens its eyes.
Haha funny au Lbh helps a really confused and out of it Sy out of his amber cocoon and brings Sy to the were they were staying just to discover that his teammates went back to the sect without him So imagine the shock of an Sj that was going to look for his student when he Sees this child carrying a full adult that seems to be unconscious, he was going to scold lbh when he actually sees the face of the man, and it feels like time stopped

Purpose and Cosmic Intentions
Start by determining the underlying reasons for the gods’ involvement in geographical creation. Did they shape the world to foster life, establish realms for their divine power, or create natural barriers for protection or punishment?
Establish how the divine will interacts with the world—whether it’s nurturing or harsh, collaborative among deities or singularly tyrannical.
Pantheon Influence and Divine Roles
Outline which gods or celestial beings are responsible for specific parts of the world. A god of oceans might have sculpted the vast seas, while a god of fire could be the origin of volcanic regions.
Clarify if these divine creators acted alone, in alliances, or through conflicts. Introduce rivalries where a god of order creates plains and structured landscapes while a chaotic deity disrupts them with jagged mountains and whirlpools.
Creation Myths and Narratives
Craft epic stories that detail the moments of creation. These myths might include dramatic events, such as titanic battles that split continents, tears shed by a mourning goddess creating lakes, or the laughter of a trickster god forming rolling hills.

“Home away from home” is usually a used-and-abused term one uses without digging too deep into what it means. Many hotels, resorts, and travel accommodations will often describe their place as such to lure in tourists.
Coco Grove Beach Resort is within the mystical island of Siquijor is often described by their guests to be such. It’s not exactly a hidden gem, but it does give its visitors a gem of an experience – one that’ll have you longingly staring at their bright-hued, sunset orange walls, already planning your next visit.
To be frank, it’s really difficult to get bored here and even more difficult to find the will to leave in search of more. How could you, when you get over 800 hectares of pristine, white sand beach naturally incorporated within a coconut grove, turquoise water that seems to magically glimmer especially around sundown, and a marine sanctuary with more than 7 hectares of teeming with coral reef and underwater life, to name a few?
Right from whichever port you’re coming from (there are two in the island), a personalized welcome sign will greet you. The check-in staff are just as charming and friendly, and we knew then and there that their customer service is ace.
We could go on and on about the resort’s many facilities – 91 (soon to be more) rooms, 2 large swimming pools, a spa pool (referred to as The Quiet Zone), in-house restaurants and pool bars, a dive center, a garden gym, and more.
The Temple Spa is one of the latest additions to their list of facilities, and dare we say, the best. Walking into the reception alone is a Zen experience, as it’s hidden behind lush greenery and tall trees. Think forest oasis – but better and much more peaceful. They have luxe suites with floor-to-ceiling windows that look into the garden, alongside top-tier spa facilities such as massive showers, tubs, and an aromatherapy bar with your choice of scents to be diffused. As for the spa treatments, they offer a variety of full body massages and body scrubs, all of which are designed for optimum peace and bliss. Afterwards, the lovely ladies will hand you their own concoction of a delicious spa-exclusive, post-massage hot drink.
During our stay here in Coco Grove, we took the chance to experience the best massage everyone was talking about. And they were right about how good the massage is!

How different is Gallifreyan geography from Earthern one? E.g. do they also have many mountains, seas, lakes etc? Do they have any cities aside from the Capitol? What about villages?
Sorry if it's a lot of questions, just curious!
How is Gallifreyan geography different to Earth?
🌍 Planetary Overview
Gallifrey is approximately three times the diameter of Earth, yet it has similar gravity, orbital radius, pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels, implying there's some tech or natural phenomena keeping it similar despite the difference in size. Gallifrey also has two large moons, one of which is Pazithi Gallifreya, named after the mystic virgin moon goddess.
🏞️ Natural Features
Mountains: Gallifrey is known for its vast and towering mountain ranges. The highest peak is Mount Cadon, which reaches the fringes of the atmosphere, and other notable mountains include Mount Solace and Mount Perdition. These mountains are often covered in unique vegetation and have varied geological formations.
Oceans and Seas: Despite having three small oceans and several seas, less than half of Gallifrey’s surface is water. The lakes and rivers often have unique colours, like gold, reflecting the burnt orange sky. The Sea of Life, near Mount Perdition, has silver water and orange sandy shores.
Deserts and Plains: A lot of Gallifrey is covered in burnt-red rocky deserts and endless mountain ranges. These deserts, such as the Camation Desert and the Arkanian Desert, have distinctive orange and red sands. There are also other arid plains with warm nights and brilliant starry skies.
Forests and Fields: Though they are less common, Gallifrey does have green forests and golden fields. The Lune Forest near Mount Cadon is one.
Atmosphere and Sky: The sky of Gallifrey is famously burnt orange during the day and filled with vibrant colours such as purple, green, and yellow lights. The sky’s appearance can change, sometimes showing a cerulean blue during the day.
🏙️ Cities and Settlements
The Capitol: The primary city and the heart of Gallifreyan civilisation, the Capitol, is located in the northern hemisphere of the continent of Wild Endeavor. It's surrounded by mountains and situated in a region that's known for harsh winds and arid conditions. The Capitol isn't too far from the red grass-covered hillsides of Mount Perdition.
Arcadia: Gallifrey’s second city, Arcadia, lies to the southeast of the Capitol in the Arcadian Sector. It's separated from the Capitol by the Myridian Mountains and is known for its beauty.
Prydos City: Located in the Prydonian sector, Prydos City is at the northern base of Mount Cadon. This city is significant for housing the Prydonian Academy and is known for its ancient, fortress-like architecture.
Other Cities and Villages: Gallifrey has several other cities and city complexes, including Olyesti and Patrexi. Abandoned settlements and ancient roads indicate the planet’s long history. The Wildlands, or undeveloped areas, are huge and largely uninhabited.
🏞️ Unique Geographical Features
The Untempered Schism: Located just outside the southwest edge of the Capitol, this rift in space-time is a significant landmark for Gallifreyans, particularly for young Time Lords who gaze into it during their initiation.
The Death Zone: A pentagon-shaped valley used as an arena for ancient Games, the Death Zone is surrounded by a powerful forcefield that can trap a TARDIS.
Wild Endeavor: A massive continent, spanning from the northern arctic regions to the southern hemisphere. It has diverse ecosystems, from jungles to arid plains and towering mountains.

Your mind has been taken somewhere very dangerous and very far from earth while you were sleeping. Select a guide to take place you in a body on their home plane, so you can try to get back to earth and your original form.
Which guide/plane will you choose?
The plane of Dredd: A Semi apocalyptic world where the sky shifts between yellow, red and black, yet no sun nore stars ever show. Nobody knows what ended the world, but the ruins of an old one can be seen among the wasteland, even if those with warm bodies can't remember it. Undead are more common here, from animalistic ghouls, to powerful vampyrs and liches. Your guide is a revenant gunslinger whose used to putting souls from other planes in still living bodies.
The plane of Outlend: a world of deep forests, shining deserts, and high mountains. No humans exist here, with the dominant races being the orcs, the goblins and hobgoblins, the lizard folk, and the dark elves. Sentient beings here seem to be born from strange mystical pits, with no child or female members existing in any known race (though some dark elf gods are portrayed as feminine). Your guide is a young hobgoblin whose been studying magic in college, and has become enamored with the possibility of other planes.
The plane of Computera: A plane that exists entirely digitally, with no actual physical space existing here. Some places here are vast virtual spaces, though others resemble a static screen more so. Though some places here are ruled by strange factions, or by eldritch beings that have mutated into corporations, there are still safe zones. You won't need as much of a guide as bodies don't really exist here, but there's an old helper program who can help you get through this place.
The plane of Abiss: a dark and firey place where demons of all sorts, fallen angels, and humans who have lost their humanity dwell. This place can be quite fun if you're in the right part, and find the right kind of hedonist, but there are certainly some places you don't want to end up here. Your guide is a faerie who ended up their due to a contract between Abiss and Archadiya, she doesn't want to be here either but she's learned to adjust.
The plane of Nemon: a massive plane of mostly empty space. Planets exist here but humans have no way of settling them, and live entirely on massive space stations and space ships. Humans here are born artificially, and lack biological sex. It's also really common for humans here to combine themselves with technology, becoming strange cyborgs. It's said there are ships and stations controlled by things much stranger then humans, and much more ancient, in uncharted space. Your guide will be an artist whose been studying the occult recently, and is as caught off guard by this as you.
The plane of Archadiya: an endless forest, larger than all of your earth, inhabited by a strange all female race of semi immortal beings known as faeries. Some faeries are quite humanoid, even beautiful in an otherworldly way, though some take on much more alien appearances, resembling fungi or insects. Regardless of appearance though, all faeries have minds alien to us. In the outer edge of this plane there are things older than even faeries here, though those things are too mysterious and deadly to speak of now. Your guide is a moth like faerie whose been waiting at a silver lake for something like this to happen.

Journeys: Great RPG Mechanics #RPGMechanics: Week Five
In Playing at the World Jon Peterson mentions the impact of the board game Outdoor Survival (1972). It influenced early D&D– framing the act of crossing wild distances as an adventure unto itself, with perils beyond monsters. This theme appeared in several early board games– traveling out into a blank map, filling it in, and dealing with random events (Source of the Nile, Magic Realm, The Mystic Wood). The third booklet of original Dungeons & Dragons, “The Underworld & Wilderness Adventures,” specifically references Outdoor Survival and using it in play.
So, while dungeons have always captured the imagination, travelling through great spans has always been a close-run second. The popularity of hex-crawls and point-crawls, moving through unknown space, illustrates something basic. There’s no functional difference between different spaces and locations within a game. A dungeon, in terms of motion through it, mechanically operates like a forest or a city. The party moves through a space and arrives at an event. There’s some description possibly of the passage, but functionally it is the same.
The difference lies in the trappings and mechanics: time, obstacles, physicality, travel resources, etc. There are some meta-considerations as well. I remember running a city-based campaign which had a set of maps I’d drawn of different neighborhoods and areas. I had a player complain that he wanted a traveling campaign, to see different things. I explained that the city was varied and interesting– going to other places and neighborhoods could be just as cool. We went back and forth as I tried to drill down on what he wanted.
It eventually came out that he wanted a game where his character could loot, destroy, and shit on folks and then move on. Having a game in a city meant he’d have to deal with people and potentially suffer consequences.
In any case, if time and distance function mechanically the same across different sizes and instances (dungeon, wilderness, city), how does a game differentiate? The most common tool has been random encounters– with chances varying based on the terrain. Different environments have different appearance rates. That’s an approach ubiquitous to early FRPGs. That might then be elaborated with guidelines for speed, exhaustion, weather, supply, and encumbrance. The level depends on how crunchy the game is. In fact these kinds of systems have been a hallmark of trad approaches.
So it was interesting to see a more modern, story-driven game take a swing at travel and work to integrate it into play. The One Ring (with the original subtitle of Adventures over the Edge of the Wild) aims for this. TOR has some trappings of the trad game, like Encumbrance but handled simply. It has the need for a map and the calculation of possible distance and travel time. Resolution here goes through setting route, judging distance, multiplying by terrain, and comparing that to speed. That generally determines the number of fatigue tests being made.
Those tests are made by the traveling companions, with each having a different role. We have the Guide (making decisions), Scout (setting up camp), Huntsman (finding food), Look-out Man (keeping watch). Journeys have a set procedure beyond fatigue tests with players carrying out their role and comparing it to a hazard target, with different events possible.
Forbidden Lands takes a page from TOR, echoing this procedure. It falls somewhere between Mutant: Year Zero’s zone exploration and TOR’s role system. In practice it feels a little more mechanical and wearing than a Tolkien-esque journey. Forbidden Land’s travel can be brutal– that’s a feature of the base game system. The land is supposed to be harsh, newly opened after a post-apocalyptic calamity. In that sense it works, but in play it can seem absolutely punishing for players who don’t expect it. I definitely want to explore travel in play– with something more than just an Undertake a Perilous Journey move. In theory I love the idea of a deep journey procedure, but neither TOR or FL exactly hit what I want. The former feels like too much calculation and too many rolls potentially and the latter like a procedure for beating down the player’s resources. I love the idea of Journey mechanics, but I want something which falls in the middle of those– offers interesting play, adds to the story, and feels like the sweeping grandeur of crossing great distances.

I originally named her "Moonlight" (bcs she was very moonthemed), and eventually gave her the nickname "Lilly". During a multitude of character revisions (all within like 2 years of making her), I dropped her original full name, as well as one the L's. Her current full name, "Lilium", comes from the Elfen Lied OP |D

Once when she was twelve, a friend mentioned that she taught there was a monster in the corn fields. Lily, 0 fear and Super Interested in monsters, went in to look for it. And she found it! And though she doesnt remember much of it afterwards, she holds it as her bestest memory.
✂️ What is one of your OC's worst memories?
She has 0 control over her Shadow Powers and during a particularly dark night (new moon), she got stuck in an intangible shadow person form. Unable to be heard or seen by anyone else, it was the most isolated she had ever felt in her life. It is probably the one and only time she had a panic attack.

HAHAHAHAHAH n o. I change Lily's design like a girl changes clothes. I barely ever drew her the same to begin with, and overal she's gone through a few major redesigns, and plenty of smaller ones.

Believe it or not; a dream. It was a weird ass dream not at all related to Sonic but it featured a sort of moon spirit and my brain was just "I like her" and tried bringing her to the waking world with limited success.

Aspiring author (primarely of cosmic horror and adjacent) who lives with a foster family after a traumatic incident from her youth. She is very intelligent and a wealth of random trivia, but she's also a massive idiot (high INT, low WIS). She loves being out and about, collecting bugs and freestyle parkouring. Happy-go lucky, but with a short temper. Collects octopus/squid/jellyfish plushies. Has shadow powers she only recently found out about and is still trying to control.

He’s the son of Tangle and Whisper in my future au that takes place roughly 20 years after canon. While he looks almost identical to Whisper, he is very similar to Tangle in personality, being very extroverted and energetic. Whistle loves playing baseball, and Tails ended up making him a bat that can utilize the wisp’s powers, like the variable wispon. Whistle is very kind and polite, if a bit gullible. In his first encounter with Mimic, he ends up defeating the octopus with the use of an electric water kettle.

A young wanderer walks slowly through the Zone forest, occasionally glancing at his expensive PDA. You have heard a lot about this otherworldly, mystical place, played various computer games about the Zone, and discussed it with friends. Why and how did you get here? The answer to this question is clear: Money and ambition. You always wanted to get into the Zone, talk to stalkers, find a couple of artifacts and return to the ‘mainland’ as a rich, new person.
Just a couple of days ago, a mercenary lead you to a small settlement. After getting out of the car, you headed to the bar "Сто БЭР". There, other stalkers measured you with glances, including the bartender - your new informant. You, attracted by youthful maximalism, immediately rushed on the road, to your first mission. You knew that the awl in your ass would again lead you into troubles, but you wanted to show yourself and make useful contacts.
Your PDA beeps occasionally as you walk across the autumn carpet of dry grass. The trees around you sway gently in the wind, causing their branches to tap softly above your head.
As you walk further into the forest, north of the town, you look at your PDA map more and more often.
“Странно…. Я уже должен быть на месте….“ (Strange…. I should already be there….) - you mumble under your breath
You had to, for a good sum, find the second informant of the bar. The last time his PDA signal was at the destroyed factory, where you are now heading.
The building did not want to be displayed on the map of your device. It glitched every time you moved the slider to the ruins. After a while, it began to turn off for a couple of seconds.
“Еп твою мать“ (Mother Fucker.) - you were starting to get angry.
The map started to change because of the glitches. Panic gradually replaced your adrenaline. You started hitting your PDA, raising it to the sky to get a better signal and shaking it, but it was all useless.
You kept walking, but a little voice in your head told you otherwise. You felt goosebumps running down your back and your legs were buckling.
Suddenly the PDA started screeching loudly. Panic rose in your throat and you started pressing all the buttons on your device just to shut it up. The PDA screamed incessantly, and panic began to mix with anger. Swinging hard, you sent your electronic assistant into a tree so that its back part broke off.
The squeak disappeared, as did your safe path to the goal. You froze, listening to the ringing silence of the forest. You feel your heartbeat in your ears, which only intensified your shitty situation.
“Блять…. Я долбоёб…“ (Fuck…. I fucked up…) - you begin to reproach yourself, distracted from the outside world.
You reach to pick up your PDA, but then you hear someone's muffled growl. In a panic, you take out your gun and look around only to see the Blind Dogs approaching you.
The world around you freezes… or maybe it's just you who froze in fear, awaiting the next actions of the half-dead creatures.
But they keep coming, surrounding you from your supposed escape route.
“БЕГИ БЕГИ БЕГИ!” (RUN RUN RUN!) - voices scream in your head, and only then do you break away from your place, running out of the encirclement through the only free space.
Out of fear and panic, you completely forget about your weapon, hopelessly jumping over fallen trees. The dogs rush after you. Their black saliva mixed with blood falls to the ground. You really don't want to feel the disease of their saliva in your blood.
There is no one more terrible in the Zone than a pack of eyeless dogs on a hunt, led by Wolf-dogs. These large and very smart creatures make up unique elements of a single brain, connecting the pack into a single, truly intelligent organism.
But you kept running, occasionally shooting back at the dogs. To no avail. They were catching up; muffled wheezing and screaming were escaping from your throat. Your head was spinning. Your breathing and your heartbeat were too fast to handle. It seemed like it was about to burst and you would fall face down into the dead earth of the Zone.
One of the dogs, similar to a German shepherd, but without the chunks of meat on its sides, was running right up to you. It wasn't falling behind. *It was catching up.* FASTER FASTER FASTER FASTER. ITS TEETH ARE ALREADY VERY CLOSE TO YOUR LEG! FASTER FASTER FAST—-
Everything around you suddenly became quiet…. The air stole your lungs, a knot formed in your stomach. You…. In the air?
And indeed. You were thrown high above the ground, like some of your pursuers. You fly upward. The squeak drowns out all your thoughts. The pressure knocks the air out of you completely…. You choke painfully…. Just as abruptly, you begin to fall down to the ground. You will not survive and you know it. Tears roll down your cheeks, but it is too late to go back….. Right?
You fall faster and faster to the ground. It's a shame, because you haven't even spent a week in the Zone. Her cold hands take you to herself without the slightest pity.
You already feel the approach of death, which is why you close your eyes, unable to see your own demise and……

Opening your eyes, you see dogs all around you again. You stand in the same place, clutching your broken PDA.
“Что за чёрт?!” (What the hell?!)
You start running again, choking on your own saliva. Your legs carry you without your permission and you, still jumping over the bumps, try to escape from the dogs. You try to turn, but it’s too late. One moment and you were thrown up again…..
And you fall…. and again, and again, and again, and again….. AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!
An endless circle of pain, animal fear, panic and death.
You can’t get out, you can’t scream, you can’t do anything to free yourself from this vicious circle.
No one hears you. Dogs and the forest are your only companions in this circle of hell. The Zone is looking at you. It doesn’t care about your torment, your pleas, your suffering.
With each death, you gradually lose the ability to think. You are absorbed by the non-existence of the same events: Dogs, escape, death, dogs, escape, death, dogs, escape, death, dogs, escape, death, dogs, escape, death, dogs, escape, death, dogs, escape, death, dogs, escape, death……
You are caught in a Time Loop…. Unfortunately, you are doomed to exist in the Zone until it gets tired of seeing you. You are a part of the Zone. Maybe at least this thought will warm your soul when you once again wake up from the shroud of the abyss, coming face to face with this endless, eternal sky.

The young stalker without a nickname shuddered.
“Ничего себе сказка на ночь! И каждому вы такие байки травите?” (What a bedtime story! Do you tell such tales to everyone?) - Said the boy, swallowing a piece of canned meat into his mouth.
«Нет» (No) - replied Меченый. - “Только тем, кто прожил в Зоне дольше Масленицы“ (Only to those who have lived in the Zone longer than Maslenitsa) - The man grinned
“Не робей, малой. Если рядом со мной держаться будешь, ничего тебе не будет“ (Don't be scared, kid. If you stay close to me, nothing will happen to you) - he said, taking a sip of water from his flask.
“Наверное я поистине везунчик раз наткнулся на вас во время задания. Ещё раз спасибо, что выручили. Я бы с той пулей не выбрался из бункера. Жизнью обязан.” (I guess I was really lucky to run into you during the mission. Thanks again for helping me out. I wouldn't have gotten out of the bunker with that bullet. I owe it to you with my life.) - The guy smiled, carefully stroking the wound.
“Да… но везение штука коварная. Никогда не полагайся на неё. Зона не любит самоуверенных.” (Yes… but luck is a tricky thing. Never rely on it. The Zone doesn’t like the overconfident.) - Said Меченный and lay down on the grass
The guy nodded - “А эта история….. Она произошла в реале?” (And this story… Did it happen in real life?) - the young stalker asked.
Marked turned around with the boy and looked at him for a long time, without saying a word. The stalker shuddered and was about to open his mouth, but the man got ahead of him.
“Меньше знаешь - крепче спишь. Не забивай себе этим голову.” (The less you know, the better you sleep. Don’t bother your head with it.)
The young man nodded and looked at the night sky of the Zone. - “Мы завтра в ‘Сто БЭР‘?” (Are we going to ‘Сто БЭР’ tomorrow?) - he asked, not taking his eyes off the sky.

I was looking through your Please Read post and am really interested about both the Love Apocalypse and Mysterious Forest Au’s.
Would the love apocalypse be in a more modern setting?
If it weren’t how do you think that would work in the world of One Piece? I had some idea forming but I feel like the execution would require some finagling. Would defiantly be harder to try and get away though if you’re stuck on a ship.
Oh now I’m wondering is it air born? Would it be in the water? Maybe some sort of weapon that the World Government was testing and it turned into this?

“Would Love Apocalypse be set in modern day?”
It could go either way in all honesty. It could be set in modern day, or it could be set in the normal One Piece world.
I do personally set it in modern day when I think about it a lot of the time, but there’s absolutely no reason why the scenario couldn’t be set in the normal One Piece world either.
So the answer is both depending on scenario.
“Is it airborne? Is it in the water?”
Typically when I do play with the concept, it’s kind of like a zombie virus sort of thing. One person gets it then kisses someone to spread it.
However I never really wondered how the virus spreads further if the love zombies typically stay in their own groups. So I guess it could be airborne, or in the water.
Maybe it’s like standing next to someone who has a fever though? Stay next to the infected person for too long or touch them too much, and it’ll cause you to get sick too.
Maybe it stays dormant for a while too so you don’t even realize that you’re spreading it until it’s too late, and you’ve already infected a good amount of people.
“What caused this?”
I’m pretty sure that you asked this question, and even if you didn’t, it’s probably still a good idea to answer it!
So I did do some thinking, and I did come to an idea of what might have caused this. Let’s take a patient zero, and let’s call them Heart. Heart likes to go exploring, and they explore anywhere that they can.
Heart goes somewhere that they’ve never gone before, and finds a mysterious plant that they’ve never seen before. The plant releases a pink almost glittery powder upon being touched, Heart breathes it in.
Smells good! Heart could uproot the plant, and take it home but even if he doesn’t then they still go home. Heart goes around his island for the next few days not realizing what they have, they hang out with people and do all this stuff which unknowing infects people.
Heart starts to develop symptoms after a week, and eventually becomes Patient Zero aka the first Love Zombie. Before this happened, all the people who were unknowingly infected have gone off island or interacted with others.
Boom! Worldwide Love Plague!
There also is another way though too, and I had an idea. It was that this little extinct race of bugs known as Love Bugs appear. Maybe they were revived via science, or maybe they were thought to be extinct.
Either way being bit by one turns you into a Love Zombie. Personally as much as I do like Love Bugs. Typically those concepts are more permanent for a story like “I have to get away from them, and find a cure before they give me a Love Bug to be bitten by!”
So the Love Apocalypse’s true cause is the plant scenario.
“How would the concept work in the One Piece world?”
Okay so I’ve never been good at answering questions like this. My sincerest of apologies, so I’ll try my best to do so. I’ll probably wind up messing it up though, so bear with me.
I feel like it would be pretty hard for people to avoid it no matter how it spreads, Marie Geoise has definitely been quarantined like no one is getting in unless it’s an absolute emergency. Anyone who leaves isn’t getting back in either.
And just like always, the world government is leaving the rest of the world to fend for themselves until a cure is found or something happens. The island where the plant was found is probably wiped off the face of the earth for good measure.
Of course that doesn’t stop anything, and a bunch of other islands are infected. Can’t destroy them all. So a lot of islands do go into lockdown too, or try to.
I feel like Egghead Island goes under pretty serious quarantine protocols, they do have a few Love Zombies to examine and take samples from. That way, there is hope for a way to fix this entirely.
Pirates and Marines would probably be the most affected by this in all honesty, they stay on ships a lot. If one person comes back to the ship infected then it’s gonna probably spread like wildfire. It’s probably the time when you’ll see very few Marine ships out on patrol, and traveling. Probably less pirates too.
Some islands might even become so afraid of the Love Apocalypse that they might start even trying to get rid of anyone that they suspect is infected. Lock em up, kill em, banish em. Anything just to ensure that it doesn’t spread.
Smaller islands or islands with very little population are probably the safest. Like you might not find a trace of it in a place like Syrup Village, or Foosha Village. Assuming no visitors come by, that is.
Skypiea remains entirely unaffected, and I don’t know about Fishman Island but something tells me that they’re alright. Same with Amazon Lily.
Once a cure is found and distributed, or something is found out about the love virus like it wears off after a week or something like that. That’s when the chaos finally dies down, it’s gonna take a while before things fully return to normal. With some places probably never returning to normal at all!
Despite being called love apocalypse though. Things never really get that apocalyptic funnily enough like the world isn’t gonna end, I just think Love Apocalypse sounds cooler than Love Virus or Love Plague.

If Chris and Jake were Halloween characters/creatures (like a vampire, werewolf, witch, literal monster, or whatever else like those for example) what would they be?
Chris, easily a would be a ghost given his canon self was born in the Phantom Zone. If I’m a more mystical creature AU though, like say if implemented in the early 1800s like say many Gothic tales, I envision him being the son of a prominent war hero who sadly perished during a nighttime siege in his family’s fortress and now roams the ruins of said fortress (which explains why he’s in nightclothes as a ghost), searching for a friend to talk to since his childhood while AU live was pretty heavily strict and lonely
Or alternatively, akin to Jon, he can also be a werewolf albeit hailing from a different clan/pack of them who hail from distant lands and the Pack Leader, Zod, is a brash sort, inadvertently leaving Chris behind during a pack voyage one stormy night, allowing the Kents to find and take him in
Then there’s Jake; I can see the Graysons being vampire rulers of a secret kingdom within the Balkans, who live in relative peace from the human world and Dick being the King of said realm. Kory descends from a Royal clan of vampires hailing from another corner of the globe, a clan notably for ironically blending in well with humans and can withstand sunlight unlike Dick’s clain can. Mar’i and Jake are the children of these Royal two, as Crown Princess and Prince respectively.
Despite having a literal thirst for blood, Dick has explicit rules for his kingdom to forbid human blood from being taken out of precaution in making sure their kingdom isn’t discovered and their existence under peril from the humans. Thankfully there location deep in the forests have a variety of wildlife they can fear from instead.

"Ugh, I'm so bored!" Lizzie flops down onto your bed where you're reading a book.
"Wait a second, are you reading Twilight?!" Lizzie exclaims, reading the title.
"Yep, Damon always got annoyed when I watched the movies, but I've never actually read the books" You put the book down. "It's not the best honestly."
"I could've told you that" Lizzie smirks.
"Oh shush, how about we do something that your father won't like?" You ask. "I'm in," Lizzie says straight away.
"Then follow me" You stand up, pulling Lizzie up by her hand. You keep holding her hand, leading her out of the school and into the forest.
"Where are you leading us to?" She asks, wacking a blackberry bush branch out of the way. "You'll see...right..about......now" you move some bushes away, revealing an older-looking black and red Kawasaki.
"Please say we're not going dirt bike riding" Lizzie's eyes widen.
"Don't worry were not, it'll be a lot easier getting to town on this" you say, easily pulling it out of the bushes and remove any twigs and leaves from it.
"Huh, smart" Lizzie smiles. "You do know how to drive that thing, right?" She then asks you.
"No, I've just had the same bike for fourty years because I like how it looks" you say sarcastically. "Of course I know how to drive it."
"Here, put this on" you say, giving her your helmet.
"You always have an extra helmet?" Lizzie asks as she starts putting it on.
"No, but I don't really need one, the only reason I have that is because of nagging people about safety" you explain to her.
"Hop on" you said smirking, seeing your best friend's cautious face. "Don't worry, nothing bad is going to happen. All you have to do is relax your body against mine and go with my movements"
"You promise?" She asks while getting on the back and wraps her arms around your waist. "I promise, always. You ready?"
"Yeah" she let's out a breath.
You start the engine and since this is the first time Lizzie had been on a motorcycle, you go at a slower pace and start working up the speed once you guys get onto the actual road.
"This isn't as scary as I thought it would be" she says, still holding onto your for dear life. (Though you don't really blame her).
"See, sometimes you just gotta step out of your comfort zone, it may surprise you" You chuckle.
Once you guys get into the town, you park in front of the strip of cute small business shops and boutiques.
Smiling, you guys go into them, trying on clothes or smelling all the scents of different candles.
"You need to smell this one" Lizzie hands you a candle. You open the lid and as soon as you do, you're immediately hit in the face with a way too sweet caramel, cake, ice cream, chocolate mixed scent.
"Oh god, why do you do this to me!" You put the candle back on the shelve right away while Lizzie is bent over in laughter.
"I'm so getting you back for that stunt," you say as you guys head over to the Mystic Grill.
"Oh, I believe it" she chuckles, opening the door for you both. You thank her before getting a table and you guys sit down.
A waiter comes around, and you both order food and drinks. " Thanks, that's all Erik," you say before he nods and walks off to the kitchen to put in the order.
"Do I even want to know how you know him?" Lizzie looks over at you with a grossed-out frown on her face.
"Really? No, I come here all the time to drink instead of punching your dad" you explain. "That actually makes a lot of sense, all the times I couldn't find you, you were here, weren't you?"
"Yep," you smirk.
"Well there goes all that time spent searching the whole school!" she playfully exclaims.
"Aww, I didn't know you missed me so much" you smirk and put your hand on your chest, in front of your heart.
"Shut up" she smiles.
Erik comes back with your guys' drinks before going to clean another table.
"Should you be drinking? I don't want to be the nagging 'mom' friend but you won't be getting drunk right? And then drive us back" she worries, taking into account that you ordered a double bourbon.
"Don't worry, I'm not planning to get drunk, I would need way more than this, and plus I would never think of driving drunk with you behind me. I care about you so much, you should stop second-guessing that" You hold her hand and squeeze it in reassurance.
"Okay, thank you" she softly smiles, letting out a deep breath.
After you guys are done eating, you compel Erik for the bill to be free of charge before leaving the restaurant. "One of the many perks of vampirism" you smirk.
"I can see why my dad thinks you're a bad influence" She links her arm to yours.
"You're just figuring that out now?" You chuckle.
"I have a great idea that you'll love, it involves maybe or maybe not pissing off my dad" Lizzie spots a store across the street.
"Oh, count me in" you smirk.
"Then come with me" She smiles and starts leading you guys toward the art store she spotted.
You guys go inside and she leads you over to the isle that has a massive glitter wall.
"Whatever's on your mind, I like it," you say, picking up a bright pink bottle of holo glitter.
"You know how my father hates a mess in his office, so how does covering it with the peskiest thing to clean up?" She smirks.
"I may just have to kiss you with how amazing this simple but amazing plan is."
You guys get a basket and fill it to the brim with the brightest colorful glitter you guys could find before 'paying' for it all.
Lifting up the seat of your bike, you guys places all the containers of glitter in the compartment. "By the time we get back, jackass will be asleep and we'll get down to business" you tell Lizzie as she loops her arms around your waist, holding on for dear life again.
You drive back to the school and Lizzie does a cloaking spell on it so you guys don't have to go back into the forest tonight. Sneaking through the front door, you guys make your way through the school with the bags of glitter and enter Alaric's office.
Lizzie locks the door before you guys get straight into dumping glitter all over his desk, the ground, the furniture, and basically anything important.
"A job well done!" You exclaim and lizzie high fives you as you guys take in the absolute glittery mess all over the office. You even went in and glittered his 'secret' weapon room.
"You can say that again. Let's get back to your room before anyone hears us. I told Josie I was having a sleepover with you" Lizzie tells you.
"Great idea" you guys go back upstairs and wash any traces of glitter off you before changing into pajamas. Lizzie borrowed some of your clothes, but she doesn't exactly have to ask, you guys go into eachothers closets all the time to borrow clothing.
Lizzie wraps her arm around you, spooning you once you guys get into your bed. Others may find it odd of how close you guys might be, literally, but it's just the kind of best friends that you are.
One things for sure, the next morning there'll definitely be a pissed off and annoyed Alaric Saltzman with glitter most likely all over his hands from trying to clean it up.
Right now, you just enjoy the peace and quiet with your best friend.
