As a millenial person, I love 90s-2000s aesthetic! Also, I needed a gameplay where I can do stuff that I never did on the sims 4 before, so why not combine them into a brand new legacy challenge? Pop-Confetti has a nostalgic sound to it, that’s the only reason why I chose this name lol, well, also it sounds cute i think~

.｡.:*♡ Let’s get started! first things first... ♡*.｡.:

Home decoration and outfit style of the sims should suit with the fashion of the decade.

There is nothing like “if you fail one rule, you fail the whole challenge” in the Pop-Confetti because I’m terrible at following rules and I understand if it’s too hard sometimes lol. These are rather like guidelines.

Yet, don’t use money cheat I’d say. It ruins the fun.

The decade specific guidelines:

1990s Challenge: Use only the worst computers or use typewriters (there are nice CCs). No social media, no selfies, no funny videos. Use the worst camera to take photos.

Optional Activities: Game at the arcade, go skating. Send postcards on holidays. You can also build a drive-in movie lot and watch films and eat popcorn (we don’t have cars in sims, but well, we can pretend).

2000s Challenge: Slightly better computers. No simstagram, no selfies, no social media profile. Use a camera to take photos.

Optional Activities: If this gen can see the winter and can get the chance to celebrate the new year, it should be perfect. Throw a huge party! If they can see summer only, create a new new year holiday in summer (like in the south pole) and throw a perfect party again. Send postcards on holidays. Also, spend hours on MSN (chat with friends via computer).

2010s Challenge: You can start using laptops. Selfies? Hell yes. You can create a social media profile. Get fast internet lot trait.

Optional Activities: Update your social media profile every day. Take selfies every day. If you see a street protest, attend. Also, you can use the Simda DatingApp mod and find dates online!

2020 Challenge: Well, the nightmare begins: Social distance. Avoid crowded places. When many people come and try to talk to you, use the mean interaction “go away.” Get the fear of crowded places if possible. Do not leave your neighborhood. Live in a lot with simple living and keep your fridge always full.

Optional Activities: Gain weight! The rates of divorce increased during the pandemic IRL, so you can also break up with your partner maybe. Choose your partner as someone totally different than your identity group (for example: if your sim is a white straight woman, marry a black bisexual man).

2025 Challenge: Environment suffers… You can live in the dirty neighborhoods of Sulani or Evergreen Harbor. If you live somewhere else, get some/one of these lot challenges: filthy, landfill lot, and wild foxes (my reasoning is that because wild animals lose their home in forests, they have to find food in urban areas ;-;)

Optional Activities: You can do environmental activities if your sim cares enough. Use gaming mats. And uh… maybe go to space! What else..? if you get an idea, let me know ^^

#1. 1990: Ripped Jeans

(TW: Child neglect)

Because you were a neglected baby, you were taken away by social services and grew up in an orphanage. The orphanage was no good in terms of education, you got no skills, and you didn’t even get the skill to gain skills! But who cares? You believe in yourself. Now you are a young adult, ready to build your life from scratch.

You hate bad parents. Just the idea of it drives you mad! You believe that life taught you how a good parent should be in a harsh way. Well, you aren’t a parent yourself, but, uhh… is that important? I mean, you have been a child…? Anyways, who would know it better than you do! You the best! So you dedicate yourself to informing people about good parenting. Well, you become a parent at some point anyway, but you are so busy criticizing other families that… you lose your baby to social services.

IMPORTANT!: So, normally, when your child gets rescued by social services, they disappear. This shouldn’t happen in this challenge (See Gen #2). You can use MCCC to prevent it and have them adopted by another family.

Scenario: No Skills, No Problem Aspiration of your choice (you don’t have to complete) Traits: hot-headed, self-absorbed, outgoing Career: Education

Start with the “No Skills, No Problem” Scenario on.

Argue about parenting with the other parents and whenever you can’t win the argument, write an article or book about the issue.

Write 3 books on how to make children happy and good parenthood (because you don’t have skills, you have to write in children’s books genre lol)

Have at least 2 kids

Lose 1 toddler or child to social services (the “die in accidents” option for the other households in the neighborhood stories settings should be off)

After losing your child, complete/cancel the scenario and start getting skills along with your 2nd child does.

Leave your career and be a perfect parent to the 2nd kid: Have them the top-notch toddler trait. Knit clothes for your children, cook healthy food for them, have a special activity with them every week (such as watching movies, reading books, eating out, or going on vacation), always assist with the projects, etc.

Max parenting skill.

#2. 1995: Postcards from the Past

You grew up under the wings of perfect care. You are kinda spoilt, your life is excellent, and the world revolves around you. Your parents gave you whatever you wanted until now (or you knew how to take it). Same for romantic relationships.

However, when you are a teen, you eavesdrop on your parents one day and learn that you have a sibling who got taken away years ago! You can’t believe that your perfect parent neglected a child in the past! You desperately want a reunion. No matter what, you are going to find your sibling. You can get whatever you want, right?

Scenario: Well-Rounded Sim Aspiration: Serial Romantic Traits: Self-assured, family-oriented, one of the traits inherited from the previous heir’s partner Career: Interior Decorator/Police Officer (basically any job that enables you to visit random people’s homes) Gender Options: Can’t impregnate nor become pregnant

Complete the aspiration

Complete the Well-Rounded Scenario

Complete your career

Travel house by house and try to find your sibling

Complete postcards collection.

Once you find them, cheat the relationship to the -100 because they hate you and your parents at the moment. You need to gain their love!

At some point, move in with them, or you can also get them as roommates or live in a residential rental together. They will be the parent of the next-gen, and you will help to care for their child (you are not fertile. you can adopt a child if you want, but the heir will still be your sibling’s child. you are free to marry but you should still live with your sibling and their family).

#3. 2000: Shiny Face of the CD

You grew up in a crowded, happy family. You have an aunt/uncle with a serial romantic past; but your parents are nothing like them. They are way more conservative. Your parents are judgmental, especially about people’s love life. They want you to make an “appropriate” marriage within “moral” norms like no sexual relationship out of marriage, if you date someone they better be your spouse in a short while, and it has to be a heterosexual marriage. Will you able to give them what they want or will you follow your heart?

Scenario: Finding love after breakup Aspiration: One of the location aspirations Traits: Proper, Romantic, one of the traits inherited from the previous heir’s partner Career: Shopkeeper (you can additionally be freelancer or enter a job you can work at home)

As a teenager, you are invited to participate in an exchange program. Pick any other household in the save that has another teenager and swap them in manage worlds. Befriend the exchange student. You can have them stay as long as you want (This rule is actually one of the rolls written for the random legacy challenge which is full of amazing ideas! check them out!).

Complete the aspiration

Have a highschool sweetheart, preferably a bad boy/girl.

Have a very well-managed retail shop as a young adult.

Expect a baby with your highschool sweetheart! but they refuse to take care of it.

Make a marriage of convenience with one of your employees before your family notices that you will have a child soon.

Have an isolated room for the baby.

Die as an adult.

#4. 2005: Bankruptcy

You had a pretty interesting childhood... that pushed you to make interesting choices in life. You are definitely not the favorite of your family. You keep making mistakes, but you always laugh them away. You hate school, but also you couldn’t care less. You love eating and cooking even though you cause fires all the time and everybody hates it. You lost your parent so young and now you live with someone hating you and your half-sibling(s). You want to be independent and show everyone that you are actually full of capabilities! You are the star chef of the future!

Oh and also, you want to be rich in easy ways. You love gambling! Too bad that you will lose all the money your family hardly earned...

Scenario: Trouble Maker (optional); Unlucky Chef Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy Traits: Lazy, Clumsy/Glutton, one of the traits inherited from the previous heir’s partner Career: Chef/Mixologist

Start playing cards as a teen and create a gambling club. Have club gatherings every week.

Once you are a young adult lose either family house or retail shop and then set household money to 0$.

Be kicked out of the household. You can get a tent and maybe 100$ with you while moving out. You can use freerealestate cheat but the lot should be empty. This will be a kind of rags to riches.

Enter the chef career while going on gambling by playing cards, don’t wake up llama, and the like games (I guess there is a gambling mod but you can also play it like +50$ when you win the game and -50$ when you lose the game).

Definitely buy the lottery tickets when you get the option.

Complete the career and unlucky chef scenario.

#5. 2010: Twilight

As a child, you loved being in the scouts: getting badges, camping, telling ghost stories, and all! Dark nights you spent in the forest while camping made you love every possibility of occults and mystery. You just would never guess that your story is going to be one of them as well.

Aspiration: The Curator / Outdoor Enthusiast Traits: Child of the islands, Geek, another trait inherited from the previous heir’s partner Career: Paranormal Investigator / Sell stuff you find

Join the scouts as a child & teen

Complete your aspiration

Move to the first gen’s house. Make the house haunted (if you don’t have the pack or you don’t want to play in a haunted house, give the house these lot traits: gremlins, spooky, quake zone). You can use freerealestate cheat if needed.

Live with a ghost. Don’t move out until the ghost achieves something big in their afterlife with your help (for instance get mentor trait and help them maxing 3 skills out, complete a scenario or complete a quest together; if the ghost is a child or teen help them to get 3 positive character values or be an A student; if the ghost is a toddler, max all skills).

Once the ghost is saved, remove them from family and make the house residential again.

After the ghost leaves, change one of your traits into erratic.

Max the medium skill and host a seance every week (if you don’t have the pack, max handiness).

#6. 2015: Selfie Stick

As a teenager, you hate how you look. You want to be one of those beautiful popular sims at school, you have cool friends but your body insecurity makes you less confident among them. You are obsessed with taking selfies, you want to capture your best look but you can’t find it. You have a bestie from your class and they find you very beautiful already, yet you can’t be convinced.

Despite everything they say, once you are a young adult, the first thing you do is having plastic surgeries. Now you are who you want to be! You start to work as a fashion photographer, meet famous attractive models, and your bestie works as your assistant though you doubt if they still like you as you are. Are they too judgmental? Aren’t you the same person, or did you change? Who does love you for your looks and who for who you are?

Scenario optional Aspiration: Party Animal Traits: Jealous, Art Lover, another trait inherited from the previous heir’s partner Career: Freelance photographer / Style Influencer

Have a photo studio in a public venue

There must be 3 different sims you are attracted to. Try to get out of this love square with the person you finally choose as a partner

When you are an adult, you go through a midlife crisis. Do all or some of the following:

Secretly leave home one day and have a vacation alone

Choose a new hobby and max the skill

Change one of your traits

Meet new friends

Make big changes at home decoration

Cheat to get uncontrolled emotions or if you are famous, get emotional bomb quirk

Have some arguments with the family members

Change your fashion style

#7. 2020: Pandemic

You have a competitive, ambitious, career-focused life since your childhood including your relationship with your sibling. You have a very romantic side too, but you always wanted to ignore it. Your heart wants a cute, cozy, loyal marriage while your mind is, embarassed, seeing these feelings as the virus of your success plans. How will you manage your inner conflict?

Scenario: Engaged in Conflict Aspiration: Soulmate Traits: Ambitious, Materialist, another trait inherited from the previous heir’s partner Career: Business/Salaryperson/Law

Grow up as rivals with your sibling and have a competitive relationship with them

Become an A student at school

Complete a part-time job as teen

Study and finish university with honors

Join the Braniacs/Debate Guild and attend at least 3 events of them

Date someone from the guild and catch them cheating on you

Have a freelancer job as a university student

Complete the aspiration, career, and the scenario

After graduation, pandemic begins. Live in a lot with the simple living trait.

Gain weight to the max.

Live with your fiancé who is romantic.

Often have arguments with them about the wedding.

Don’t leave the neighborhood until you are an elder.

#8. 2025: Heat Wave (subjected to change)

Scenario: In the moodlet Aspiration of your choice Traits: Good, Gloomy, another trait inherited from the previous heir’s partner  Career of your choice

Move out as a teen and live in air-bnbs (which means other sims’ houses), rental lots & camping areas.

Learn at least 10 different local recipe (San Myshuno, Sulani, Selvadorado, etc.)

During your trips, meet/get closed with your love of life

As a young adult, live in a house made only by pre-made rooms of EA (you can make some changes but keep the general frame and style).

Start the scenario

Your love has a kind of disease that stems from environmental disasters and requires an organ transplant. Yours is compatible with their biology. They will die once they age up.

To be able to save them, you should get the never weary reward trait before they age up (for some reason lol). If you can’t, only choice left is to sacrificing yourself for them. Before doing that, set them up with someone else hoping that they can have their happily ever after.

If you die, play as the partner and organize funeral for your sim. Also name their child after your sim.

If you can save them, get married and move to a lot within a natural paradise. Adopt a child and name them after the first gen.

What’s your favorite Sims death? 

The death by fright in Sims 2, the animation cracks me up! It happened once to my zombie maid, she was always dying of different things and coming back to zombie state xD

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? 

I don’t know what really means alpha cc so I will say both.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Not really. But I always block access to the gym lots. I hate when my non-sporty sims go there autonomously, getting suddenly muscular or getting athletic skills!

Do you use move objects?

Enough to make my game crash, apparently.

I would say nraas Master Controller, I didn’t think I needed it until I tried it :p

Moloch was originaly created in Sims 2 and I gave him this hair in black color. Now I couldn’t see this hair on an other sim than him :D

The amount of cc we can find for sims 3 makes me want to mix gameplay, sims creation with more attention to a certain aesthetic. But I think the “spirit” haven’t really changed throughout the years :D

Sims 1: Makin’Magic and Superstar, Sims 2: All of them, Sims 3: Supernatural. Sometimes I think I maybe wouldn’t have ever played Sims 3 if there weren’t this expansion :D

Through the Generations

there’s probably another challenge named this, but I am not good at names, so I’m keeping it

*this challenge is currently unfinished as I am play testing it and fell into a rut, but feel free to start from this point*

this challenge is a free forming challenge meant for me to hopefully enjoy the sims more and have structured legacy that I like without anything that seems to hard. this legacy can be bended however you want and the gens played in whatever order you want (each gen however has a backstory and will not work if you switch them around, so create your own backstory if you switch generations around) there are a lot of pack requirements I didn’t intend to make, but you can skip those or modify them to your will.

Also, feel free to play with siblings and such to make fun family trees, just make sure to have “auto-age current household only” on!

we’ll get into all the rules below the cut to make it neat, but incase I ever delete my tumblr or it gets deactivated, HERE is a google doc of the rules too

Some Basics before we get into the Generations

Heirs are whoever you choose unless specified 

You can give the next generation however much of the family funds of the current generation as you choose

Piggy-backing off of that, unless specified you can use however many funds you want to build/buy new lots

You can create sims to be your spouse and add them into the world unless specified

Any lifespan length is fine, although regular is recommended

Start each gen at young adult unless specified 

You can have pets in any generation unless otherwise specified

You can have same-sex or hetero couples per each generation (your choice). In same-sex couples, you may adopt or use a mod that will allow try for baby and pregnancy between them

and lastly...have fun and please tag me if you play or use the tag #ThrGen, I’d love to see it!

Generation one: A Big Happy Family

You grew into young adulthood with absolutely no-one, no siblings or parents, it’s not something you would wish onto your worst enemies, let alone your own family. You vow to make a large, happy family for your own children and never want to lead a boring life for your kids

Marry one of the first sims your spouse meets

Have 10 children (you can use mods if you wish, but just replacing them as they move out is fine)

You can live in whichever world you want, just pick the biggest lot of that respective world

Paint, write, or any other work from home job (your spouse may hold a part-time job or do the same)

Max the parenting, cooking, and charisma skills

Grow a nice little veggie garden

Have good relationship with all children

Most of your children should have the happy toddler trait and at least one positive character trait

Generation two: Work, Work, Work

You didn’t hate growing up in a full, loud house, but you saw how much your parents sacrificed of their own freedom and ambitions for you and you never want your family to come in between your dreams and you like that. So you move to the city to build up a career for yourself completely kid free.

Move to San Myshuno, working from a small apartment up to a penthouse

Reach level ten in either the Business or Politician careers (you can pick which branch)

Take any career opportunities the game offers you

Only after you reach the top of your career can you look for a serious relationship (you can have one night hook ups here and there if you wish, just nothing serious)

The only way you can intentionally boost fun is by listening to the radio or watching the television

Have a child with your spouse once you complete your aspiration (this should be into adulthood, the older you are the better)

Only have one child building a strong relationship with them and spoiling them rotten

If you or your spouse dies of old age, the respective partner should also die in some manner shortly after (to set up for the next gen)

Generation three: All on my Own?

start with whatever aspiration you think fits, but change it to and complete the Friend of The Animals aspiration

With the sudden passing of both your parents, you have no idea what do with yourself and how to live on your own. In a rash decision, you sell the penthouse and all it’s belongings. You blow through all this money quite quickly on drinks and gambling until you have barely enough money to move out to a small house on the coast (you will probably need to cheat this, just cheat it down to 20,000). There you try to find yourself and make a life for your new normal. After job after job, you notice the amount of strays in the area, which inspires you to open a small family clinic

Do as the description above says, only starting once both of your parents are dead

Move to Brindleton Bay

“Try” (you can just work at them for a couple days) three different jobs before deciding to open a small vet clinic

adopt at least five animals over the course of your life

You can meet your spouse wherever (perhaps the clinic) and have 2 children with them

Take your children on trips to different parks, museums, etc., every week

Max the pet training and veterinary skills

Generation four: The Nuclear Family

athletic, paranoid, [your choice]

Your parents always encouraged you to pursue what you wanted, but also encouraged economic conscious and independence. Not sure what you want to do, you enlist in the army and move to StrangerVille, trying to figure out what you want, but as your there, you get enveloped into what’s going on

As a teen, have a part time job

move into the trailer park in StrangerVille

Enlist in the Military

Complete the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration

After finally taking down The Mother, you are finally able to decipher what you wanted, a Writer. You leave your position in the military and pick up a job at the local paper (the writer career), where you tell your stories of your adventures and other strange happenings in Strangerville. At the paper, you meet your spouse and settle down to have a few children with them. But still feeling unsatisfied, you find solace in a stranger at a bar and do things very questionable as a married sim.

Move to the Suburbs of StrangerVille

Become a writer and choose the Journalism path

Meet your spouse at work

Have 3 children (preferably at least one boy and one girl)

Cheat on your spouse with someone you meet at the bar (this can be a one time thing or a continuous theme)

Complete the Successful Lineage Aspiration

Max the Writing Skill

Generation five:  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Eco Innovator Aspiration 

Sensing something was always off in your parents marriage, you wanted everything else in life to be perfectly in your control to balance it out. One of the biggest problems that seemed to be out of your control however, was the environment and the negative impacts of it, until you learned about a little town on the coast, Evergreen Harbor. There people of your similar mind lived and coexisted, working on creating a community of a better environment. So, soon after your eighteenth birthday, you pack your bags and move. 

Move to Evergreen Harbor

Always live in a tiny home, the smaller, the better

Grow a garden of at least ten different plants

Go into the Civil Designer Career, specifically the Green Technician Branch (you can also choose the conservationist career, just cheat the aspiration go

Concerned about their environmental impacts, have only one child, you can either by adopt or a have a one night stand resulting in a child ( you can be in contact and be in a relationship with the child’s parent, but they should not live with you) 

Have at least fifteen renewable energy sources

Make your neighborhood (and maybe others!) the cleanest it can be

Generation six:  Paintings of Cityscapes

Growing up with a single parent, your life was a little interesting, but never dim or unloved. Growing up in Evergreen Harbor gave you access to many interesting and cool people who shaped your view of the world and it’s beauty (Rory and Lorelai Gilmore type vibe ig?). Interested in broadening your world view, you move yourself all the way to the big city to pursue a career in arts. There you meet all sorts of people 

Move to San Myshuno, try moving into the smallest apartment possible, make it into a studio/loft and live there for as long as possible

Meet all your friends at art galleries and karaoke bars

go to as many festivals as possible, trying to paint and photograph them as much as possible

Max the Charisma and Painting skills

Never to boggled to settle down, have at least two children to at least two different people, preferably “casual” friends

Never live in an apartment bigger than what you need in the name of being unique (basically no mega big apartments and penthouses)

Marry as a elder to your highest romantic partner

Take your kids on trips to art galleries and such every week

You should have an extra stock pile of money, don’t spend it on stuff you don’t need

Generation seven:  A Higher Degree

Living with your eccentric parent in a tiny apartment with your siblings, at times, felt quite odd and claustrophobic, but your parent always introduced you to new people and new places that widened the lens of what you could do in your life. With the help of your parent, who put away any extra dollar they could so that you and your siblings could to go to college and pursue your passion, you apply for university and move into the dorms. 

Go to University and get a degree in Psychology, History, or Literature and Language

Join at least one student organization

Meet your spouse while in university (they can be attending or you just meet them somewhere on campus)

Have a big graduation party with all your friends and classmates

Marry your partner soon after graduation

Pursue a career related to your major

Max your Logic and Research & Debate skills

Languages you speak: Just English, and extremely low-level GCSE French :(

Are you a mermaid?: Sure! I live in a coastal town & was a huge mermaid & dolphin girl as a kid, even had an underwater/dolphin themed bedroom. These days my vibe is more witch-y than mermaid-y, but I’m down with being any kinda cool fantasy lady, haha

Your play style: It’s a mix, yeah! I tend to play with a lot of structure (rounds, challenges, etc.) but keep the rules pretty loose & optimise more for storytelling than anything. It varies a lot between saves and sometimes even between families, haha.

She doesn’t really look anything like me since I wasn’t the best at faces in those days, and my style has definitely changed in the last 5 years (although the hair isn’t all that different) so maybe I’ll make a new one, just for fun?

Your favorite holiday: Christmas, definitely! It can be kind of a stressful holiday but it gives me such a strong feeling of community and love, with family, friends, hell even on simblr! It’s the only time of year I really get together with my extended family. I also love the food, the decorations, the lights, Christmas pantos, classic films on TV, ghost stories... it’s got it all, imo!

How was your day?: So far so good! It’s been a weekend of having absolutely no plans (courtesy of corvid-19, heh) and just kinda relaxing. It’s a worrying time in a way but it’s also been nice to not have to worry about cramming as much as possible into the weekend & just being, yknow?

Your favorite career: I like running a OFB career the best but other than that... maybe crime, haha?

Your favorite aspiration: Knowledge & Pleasure!

Your favorite EP, GP and SP: Probably Mansion & Garden, I can’t live without all that gorgeous garden decoration & the cool archetectural details! For EP, hmmm, maybe university? University is my favourite part of the game, I think :)

How old is your simblr?: Apparently it dates back to August 2014 so, gosh, about 6 years??????????

Have you WooHooed?: Haha, serious question? Yeah

Your favorite skill: Creativity, probably! Although really its the hidden skills linked to it that I like, painting& music proficiancy, etc.

Your 3 favorite mods: Going to cheat and say all the occult stuff by @midgethetree, the simological school/prison mods, & @hexagonal-bipyramid‘s traits project!

Your interests (other than Sims): Writing, D&D (I’m a newbie DM currently running Curse of Strahd for my IRL friends), anime, reading, drawing, tarot, fashion (I like ‘alternative’ style but lean more into witchy/granny/mori stuff than the ‘edgy’ look), witchcraft/occult stuff in general, knitting, embroidery... the last 2 are very new hobbies I’m still getting the hang of! 

Your favorite Sim (picture if possible): Chosing one is always basically impossible for me so I’m gonna go ahead and post a few favorites...

Which Sims games have you played (including mobile games)?:Definitely TS2 is the one I’ve played the most of, but I’ve also played all the other mainline games... TS1 was only at friend’s houses, never got into TS4, but I have played a lot of TS3.

We never had a PC as a kid so I’ve played looooooads of the console ones. On the PS2 The Sims, Bustin’ Out, Sims 2, The Urbz (the best one.) Also the Sims 2 DS game & PSP games. Those are both pretty great. I also played the Sims 3 Wii game which was fucking terrible, haha.

Propose a crazy scheme: Bring back round robin legacies where a different simmer plays each generation

Best part of simblr: The community spirit is great, everyone is always eager to help each other and the level of creativity is just wow

Worst part of simblr:Sometimes I miss how much people commented in the old LJ days - without “threads” in comments it’s much harder to build friendships on Tumblr without going out of your way to message people, which is always a bit intimidating! 

What other games you play?: I don’t play that many other games because I like the Sims 2 so much, but me and my boyfriend generally play through a couple of games together each year... mostly the Zelda and Final Fantasy series. I also play 00s era Sonic games weekly with one of my friends, haha. They are kind of crappy in a lot of ways but hold so much charm for me, I just love them... in general I like visual novels, mysteries, puzzles, adventures & anything with a good story. Not so big on anything very large and open-world, or first-person.

Other favourites include Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Harvest Moon (had to quit this one cold turkey lmao), TWEWY, the 999 games & Phoenix Wright.

Your name: My birth name is Lorene. But online, I’ve been going by Des for a while. All spawned from Desira, which originally was my WoW main’s name.

Languages you speak: Fluently? None. lol. I speak English. Took French for 4 years in school, but remember VERY little.

Are you a mermaid: Whose been telling my secrets? 😂 But really? I wish.

Your playstyle: I guess at this point, story-based. I do love challenges and that’s what I started this simblr with.

Your favourite age state: Oh man. They’re so precious when they’re in the toddler stage. Just want to pinch their cheeks. But I’m such a huge romantic, so my fave fave is YA. I like playing them when they’re older and ready to take on the world. Find their love. Etc.

Your favourite season: So... my favorite worlds don’t tend to change with the season... But... Summer and Winter, I think. At least I find these seasons the prettiest to take screenies in.

Your favourite holiday: Ummm... Winterfest? I haven’t played a true holiday in a while.

How was your day: My day has been really good. Putting things in motion for my BC. Getting ready for my anniversary tomorrow. So, been very nice.

Your favourite career: I like the active and stay at home careers (though I haven’t played them all yet.) I do tend to gravitate towards the more creative ones like writing or painting.

Your favourite aspiration: Hmmm... I don’t know. Tend to do the knowledge and creative ones.

which sims games you have played (including mobile games): I started way back in Sims 1. Played 2 and 3. Played the offshoots like Castaway and Medieval. I know I played it on a console but can’t remember which one.

Best part of simblr: The people I have met, hands down. I admit to being a bit of a hermit, and I have met some amazing people through simblr, some that I consider my very dear friends and can’t imagine not talking to them daily now.  

Worst part of simblr: I think it’s something we all agree on: the hateful message. Be it on anon or not.

What other games you play: I mentioned it up there, but mostly Stardew Valley. Occasionally Diablo 3. And maybe one day I’ll play WoW again.

Your name: I think most people would assume my name would be Claudia because of my username and me using Cloud as my name. But my real name Elin , which is the Swedish/Scandinavian version of the Greek name Helen , and most people think my name is actually Ellen , depending on spelling and pronunciation. I don’t particular care about my real name , so I simple don’t use it on Tumblr while addressing myself.

Languages you speak: Swedish (native) , English (secondary). If my preschool teacher didn’t forbade me and my brother , I would have probable learnt speaking and reading in Finnish. 

Are you a mermaid: No. I’m a gnome princess ruling my court of forest pranksters! 

Your play style: I think it’s story driven mixed with game play. I usually have a story in my mind while playing but I let the game dictate how it will go.

Y'all know that I adore Ava and Cassie , so they have to be here. 

I’m also very found of their son Prewitt. His an adorable firecracker who is a total sweetheart. I love his sisters too , but Prew  has been my favorite since the day he was born. 

And I can’t forget about my berry sims either!  

I loved the dynamic of Scarlet and Mirage in my random legacy challenge , generation 3. If only the rules didn’t say that they could not be a romantic couple , they would have gotten married. Also red with green and teal makes very good contrast 😍

Kitty Cat has to be my newest favorite thought. I am very very tempted to do a berry pastel rainbowcy with her being the spouse , but I sadly realized that it won't be happening for a long time. 

Which Sims games you have played (including mobile games): The sims 2 , The sims 2: Castaways , The Sims 3 , The Sims Medieval and The Sims 4. I have never played the sims 1 or any of the mobile games.

Propose a crazy scheme: Crazy huh..?  I want to paint  a1000 llamas green ( no harmful/toxic paint though) and release them in a  city and see if anybody knows the sims reference!

Best part of simblr: The uniqueness of each simblr and their sims, their way of storytelling and the since of community.  

Worst part of simblr: The "it's way better" argument. We have all our own experiences of the sims games and view the games differently. I adore the sims 2 and 3 , but I don't hate the sims 4 anymore because  I realized it might not be the game for me , but it's the game for other simmers. We should all accept that what makes a game good is the opinion of the player itself and we all have different opinions.

What other games you play: I enjoy simulation games , especially strategy and survival games. But I have only played the sims for most of my life I only have a few games that’s not sims related ,  like Undertale , The Long Dark and Niche: A genetics survival game and  The Reign games.

I would LOVE to make storytelling posts (with subtitles and all of that) but I don’t know where to start & if anyone really would want to read that. Like there is story in all my Sims but I just don’t know if y’all would want to read that. But these challenges have been really fun to do! I wanna do more lookbooks though! Custom Content I’m still trying to work with but I’m struggling a little bit but soon I’ll have some for y’all!:)

Your favorite holiday: So in my game I have a holiday called “Summer Farewell” it happens on the last day of Summer & the day consist of chill vibes. Drinking, playing outside, swimming, bbq, fireworks, hanging with friends & family & chilling around a bonfire. It’s super chill & I honestly look forward to it. Maybe I should post more about it soon!

How was your day: It was okay. Work sucked ass. Being understaffed all the time & working with a fake ass coworker is so draining. But it got better when I got home because I played some Skyrim. Then went out to eat with my mom at Five Guys then bought myself a memorory foam bed topper from Bed Bath & Beyond. So I slept amazing last night. Now it’s Saturday & I plan on not leaving the house!

Your favorite career: Ummm that’s kinda hard because I always choose freelance careers in game because I love how your sim can stay home & just work. But it gets a little monotonous at times. I also love the teacher & administrative careers that came with Discover University!

Your favorite aspiration: I love the geeky ones, like collecting stuff & I love the family aspirations!

Your favorite EP, SP or GP: this is so hard ugh. For favorite EP it’s either Discover University or Get Together. Favorite GP is Parenthood but also Strangerville because it’s actually pretty great! Favorite SP is extremely tied between Tiny Living & Moschino for the build & buy items!

How old is your Simblr: it will be hitting one year old soon! I’ve always wanted to make one but never did. But I finally just made one. I used to blog about my sims on Amino but that community was toxic and their ways were extremely toxic & stupid. So it pushed me to make a Simblr & I loved it ever since. You can go on Amino actually and still see my posts. STORYTELLING POSTS!

Your interests (other than the sims): I love to play video games, I’m a huge gamer. I also love to travel. Even if it’s to a small town in the middle of nowhere, I just love to see new places. I live in Texas so any chance I get to travel around, I’m always excited for it. I also love to write stories & songs. Then last I love to cook, so I’m always watching Food Network to see what ideas I can get to create in the kitchen.

Your favorite Sim (picture if possible): that is so hard because all of my sims that I post on here are my babies. So I can’t just pick one. But my favorites would have to be between Kade, Zephan & Tobias.

Which Sims games have you played (including mobile games): The Sims, The Sims 2, The Sims 2 on GameCube & the Strangetown one for PSP. Urbz on PS2 & on Gameboy. The Sims 2 Castaway. The Sims 3 on PC & PS3. SimCity 3,4,5(ew). I have never touched the mobile games & I never got to play TS3 Medeival :(

Propose a crazy scheme: Omg I know this is crazy but wouldn’t it be amazing if our Sims could own multiple homes, basically house flip & rent them out to other sims. Get that money, or let their children that are trying to move out, live in those homes. Or how crazy would it be if the roommate system wasn’t just from Discover University but was BASEGAME. DEAR LORD.

Best part of Simblr: Seeing the crazy talent & passion that simmers pour into this game. Seeing them tell awesome stories & sharing their amazing CC! Also seeing people form friendships over this game is pretty magical.

Worst part of Simblr: Seeing blog who put so much effort & work into their posts & blogs and seeing no one appreciate it. Also the bitches behind anon leaving hateful messages.

@battlecouples: Hey! Realm of Magic looks and sounds absolutely amazing. Do you know if Vampire or Aliens can become Spellcasters and/or learn Alchemy?

As far as I can tell, Vampires can become Spellcasters but Aliens & Mermaids cannot. I think if you use MCCC you can get around this, though. If anyone can verify that, feel free to let me know in the replies! (I haven’t gotten around to trying it myself & I don’t personally use MCCC)

@petaluhsims: Could you let us know if there are any off-the-grid compatible items in realm of magic? Does that stove in the screenshot you shared work off the grid?

The kitchen stove & a variety of light fixtures (candles) are off-the-grid compatible, but the kitchen fridge isn’t. Kind of a bummer, but I’m sure someone will make it compatible soon. 🤞

Anon: Do you think Realm of Magic will have a storyline like Strangeville?

Anon: Hello, so I have ROM question, Spellcasters are immortal like vampires? And can they make youth potions ? Thanks for your time ^^

They aren’t immortal, but there are potions & spells that can make them immortal! You just have to level up your Spellcaster before they can attempt either of those (which isn’t that hard to do).

Anon: After downloading ROM I’m finding a lot of slowness and bugs with my game. I have a really good computer that was working flawlessly before installing ROM, is EA releasing a patch to fix this soon?

I’ve been experiencing some bugs, too. I have no idea when they’ll release a patch to fix them, but I hope it’s sooner rather than later. 

Anon: I'm loving the Realm of Magic pack so far, but I have one little issue...you can't sell potions for money! Is this purposeful or a bug, do you know? I wanted to have my Sim make a living by selling her potions :(

As far as I know it was on purpose, but I hope they’ll patch in pricing at a later date. In the meantime, @icy-spicy-scalpel made a mod that allows you to sell your potions/gives them a price! 🙌

Anon: will you put your realm of magic house on the gallery or up for download? it's so beautiful

I’ll try to do that as soon as I'm able! It’ll most likely be CC free & edited from the original, but it’s mostly CC free to begin with, so it won’t be too different. 

Anon: Is there any way to access your body sweat overlay outside of Wicked Whims?

As of right now, no. I made those as a commission so I’m not sure if I’ll release them through my blog.

I’m not much of an expert with coding, but if you find a decent base code there’s so much you can do with it! I recommend checking out @simblrlayouts or the family/network tag on @theme-hunter. I use a heavily edited version of this one for my own Downloads Page.

If they need to be updated, sure, but I probably won’t be editing them any time soon. I want to focus more on new/future content. I hope you’ll understand!

I highly recommend checking out the @sims4studioofficial forum. They have an entire CC creation index full of tutorials & general resources that will help get you started.

Your name: I usually go by Em online, or doodle. Full name is Emma, no middle name. My family and a few very close friends call me Emmy, and my dad calls me doodle, which has been a nickname he’s had for me for years.

Languages you speak: English is my mother tongue. I speak French and Spanish at a high level. I would’t say I speak them at a “native” level, but I would consider myself near-fluent. I started learning Catalan about 6 months ago, and I can read and understand that almost perfectly, speaking and writing is a little more of a struggle. I also just started teaching myself Italian, so that’s very basic. Oh, and I can read Portuguese I guess, and a few other minor Romance Languages. Oh, and I know a tiny bit of Arabic. I love languages, can you tell?

Are you a mermaid: Quite the opposite, I hate the water and tbh, I probably can’t swim. 

Your playstyle: Hmm, a mix of casual and storytelling. Of course I have my two saves that I share here on tumblr. I also have a supersim save that I’m playing myself, and I have a couple of other personal saves that I just.....play.

Your favourite age state: Hmmm, toddlers are super cute, but YA because that’s when there’s the most to do with them.

Your favourite season: Autumn. It’s beautiful in all the worlds in this game, but especially Brindleton Bay.

Your favourite holiday: Hmmm. Rebate Day? I don’t tend to use money cheats so it’s a lifesaver 😂

How was your day: Pretty good! I was persuaded to watch Doctor Who for the first time by my ever so lovely friend (you know who you are) and now I need to know all the things. Also the 13th Doctor is like 96% of the reason I started watching, we fangirled over her for a good 10 minutes non-stop. 

Your favourite career: In the game, probably any of the freelance or work from home careers. I much prefer being able to have my sims actually do their jobs. Feels more rewarding that way.

Your favourite aspiration: Hmm. Honestly, I tend to forget about aspirations, so I’m not really sure.

which sims games you have played (including mobile games): I used to play Sims Freeplay alllll the time. I also played Sims 3 for several years before I moved onto the Sims 4 about 3 (ish) years ago!

My OFFICIAL Best/Worst TS3 EPs - REVISED 2019

I did a 2014 Sims 3 countdown list here, but since then I’ve played a lot more, and changed my mind about a few things. (Except the SPs -- I stick by what I said about those.)

Disclaimer: My “best/worst” is really just my personal favorites, with no real bearing on how well I think EA actually created the game, the quality vs quantity, how they executed the concepts, or anything like that.

With that said, let’s go Worst to Best this time! >:D

11 - Late Night: My opinion hasn’t really changed; if anything it’s gotten worse, especially after Boroughsburg went and dookied all over Bridgeport. XD

10 - Island Paradise: I’ve yet to even touch Isla Paradiso (I plan to...eventually), but the mermaids are meh & I was bored underwater (there’s not much to do); I don’t give a eff about resorts; and though I really like all the boats, they’re a EFFING HEADACHE to route & control. The new collectibles & items are cool, but I don’t feel my gameplay expanded all that much, as most of those objects are just a new, more colorful/tropical coat of paint on the regular stuff we already have. (Formerly #9)

9 - Generations: A huge expansion, yes, but when I’m not playing with kids (which is most of the time, outside of my Malec gameplays), I sometimes forget this pack exists. I disabled Memories & Imaginary Friends almost as soon as I installed Gen, and Story Progression on Day 1, so all I ever really use is the toys. It REALLY should’ve been basegame, or added in a free patch the way the TS4 Toddlers stuff was. Especially considering it didn’t include a new world to play in. And for all its claims, it effing ignored Elders, lbr. The new CAS & Build/Buy items get the most use from me by far, and the new sorting/filtering systems they added. (Formerly #7)

8 - University: I have zero intention of ever using the university mechanics, or going to the world at all (RL school already traumatized me enough; thanks). But I really like the Plantsims (a heck of a lot more than Mersims), and again, the collectibles & new CAS/Build/Buy items are the coolest part for me. I LOVE the harvestables, possibly even more than the ones in Supernatural. And the Buy Mode objects are effing cool -- the wealth of hobbies & skills stuff especially. 

7 - Showtime: My feelings about SHT have been conflicted since it was first announced. I still feel like it’s an expansion of an expansion (*cough* Late Night *cough* cuz it needed one -- or two *cough* Supernatural *cough* -- I’m ALLERGIC to EA’s BS!). I never used Simport, I don’t like Katy Perry, the Genie lifestate is glaringly out of place, and Starlit Shores is just ok. But the keeper for me is hands down the new professions, particularly the Magician, and I absolutely LOVE the CAS & Build/Buy items. (Formerly #6)

6 - Pets: I. Am. IMPRESSED. I think this is possibly the second best EP in the whole game (the best =/= my favorite). I’ve owned Pets & IP for years, though I was never able to run them on my old laptop, and had to wait till late 2017 before I got a new one with better specs. While IP was a letdown for me, Pets certainly isn’t; it’s so cool having pets & wildlife in the game! (Formerly #10)

—The rest I didn’t change my original ranking for, I just have more to say—

5 - Seasons: Still the best, most well-made EP out of the bunch (which says a lot, cuz it had its flaws, too). Winter is still my favorite (which is ironic, cuz I effing hate snow & cold IRL), but I still think the “holidays” mechanics & content are really bad -- EA was so busy trying to be politically correct that they watered down each and every one. At least small yet welcome additions/improvements were made in TS4, but TS2 still had the best, IMO. I miss Father Time. 

4 - Into the Future: A STAPLE for sci-fi gameplay, along with Showtime & Ambitions (and Seasons, for sneaking in the Aliens for no effing reason). But I am SO IN LOVE with the Build/Buy items, that I use them all the time. (I frikkin hate a lot of the CAS nightmare fuel, though.)

3 - World Adventures: I get tempted to bump WA up to #2, but I honestly don’t use the tomb exploration much at all, the mummies scare me, and I never cared for Champs les Sims; I think Monte Vista’s much prettier, with more interesting townies. I just love the fact that they added new cultures and lifestyles -- the worlds (plural!) are the biggest draw. 3rd best game, because they could’ve done so much more, but for the first EP out the gate, it’s a great expansion.

2 - Ambitions: Granted, I disabled Laundry (cuz eff chores); I don’t play in Twinbrook much anymore; and ITF’s Plumbbots make the Simbots look like a bad joke. But the content? The content. Dude: they’re EXPANDED. The traits, professions, hobbies & skills are sooo good. And I refuse to give up the CAS & Buy Mode items, not to mention that some of my favorite Build Mode content is from Ambitions (especially the plants). (Magnooooooooolia Crawford XD)

1 - SUPERNATURAL: Cuz duh, of course it is. XD Major flaws, particularly with the lifestates, but the content is just too integral for fanciful simmers to pass up. I have gripes with each and every lifestate (y’all know I raved a bunch about the 3rd party mod that added magic for kids), but I still have loads of fun with what we have (even the vampires, when I suspend my disbelief >_>).

TaS - The Sims 4 Farr Dynasty (1#1)

I’ve played TS4 for so long and have done lots of challenge (though without ever sharing about my experiences), but I have never had done the legacy challenge. Seeing that I currently have nothing to do in my game aside from the 30-days Build It challenge, obviously I decided to have a little fun with one of the biggest, oldest challenge around  🙌

Instead of creating a new sim from scratch, I picked out a randomly generated townie. This allowed me to have a completely random sim whose traits and aspiration are alien to me - since I have a tendency to make my sims look and have certain traits - while also introducing me to the freak show that is Maxis’s choice of... well, je ne sais quoi.

The game did a good job on utilizing all my cc, that’s for sure.

So here is the founder of the soon-to-be Farr Dynasty: Robin Farr.

Driven out of home by her parents, Robin Farr promises to create a far (pun not intended) greater legacy to prove her worth. She moves out to a small island near Windenburg, settling down on an empty land, with what little changes she’s saved up from her job as a leaf cutter. That’s right, folks. Our miss Farr is a gardener. Now that’s something I’ve never truly played with, despite having the seasons expansion. 

Following the basic rules of the challenge, the succession laws I follow are gender equality, traditional, merit, and brood. I considered the exemplar law, but then again it would be far more interesting to see which child tries to lick ass the most :D plus I rarely interact with children in my game plays, so the hates children trait really sits well with me. What doesn’t sit well instead is the scoring sheet, since I will most likely forget to tally all my dos and don’ts to even know my score at all due to college works. I also set down the quality to laptop mode due to having to work on another 3D rendering program, so my graphic in game looks quite crap.

Traits: Romantic, Geek, and Hates children. Hmmm.

After setting my money to §1800, I had to send her off to work because the damn phone is starting to explode with the boss’s calls. She brought home §175, a meager sum which I doubt would even be useful at all to help me build a house - SOOO I set her out to visit the neighbors, the Bro household and the Bjergsens. Robin had free meals over at the Bros’ and introduced herself to Bjorg Bjergsen and his smallest daughter, whom she had the misfortune of having to entertain. That little interaction gave her a 6 hours tense moodlet, lol.

That being said, right after the little imp scampered away to play in a leaf pile, Bjorg made a move on Robin and DUH, of course she retaliated back. They were watching a romantic movie together, sitting by each other’s side with flirtatious jokes flung around, generally having a really suggestive time a homeless person and a rich father of two shouldn’t be having. Then Clara Bjergsen came in, and Bjorg got embarrassed just in time before his wife caught on them. Robin left the house with a plate of warm turkey dinner and a dirty little secret I might had planned to cultivate.

She left the house to go back and sleep at the Bros’, I might add. That earned her a negative relationship with Joaquin, but also a significant boost to her romantic relationship with Sergio for no other reason than all the flirting the two kept doing because they were under the influence of the steamy ginseng juice Joaquin brewed. So much for trying to get her out of the house, Le Chien.

The romance went steady even with all the sneaking around Bjorg led Robin to do - he asked her to dinner right after he fought with Clara, took her to the humor and hijinks festival, and had a date to the park - and at the end of the day, Sergio’s romance meter was higher than Bjorg’s. Fuck it, I thought. Persuading good ole Bjorg to get a divorce is way harder than marrying Sergio. On their third dinner date Robin asked Sergio out, and he immediately followed up with a proposal. It might be because they were celebrating his birthday or whatever, dunno, but she said yes - and they eloped on impulse Θ_Θ)> The news didn’t sit well with Bjorg, who asked Robin out to another outing right after her sudden wedding.

He hated it. The old man argued with Robin and threw her drinks until suddenly, Clara Bjergsen came inside the bar, looking shocked to see her husband so violent. It prompted him to stop fighting with Robin, but the deed is done and the love is gone. Whatever fling they had had gone down the drain, even as Robin tried to smoothly recover and apologize (jackass had the nerves to shove her in response!). So I moved her out of the bar, heading to the art gallery, a place where she usually unwinds... with Jade Dragon. Seriously though, this game needs a heavy PG rating - and not just because there are super R-rated mods in the community :>

After three plates of chicken nuggets and unwinding with the bubble blower, I couldn’t force the poor girl to walk home when she’s already jackshit hammered. 

So she slept in the art gallery and was late to her work - oh, joy! - and I automatically switched to Sergio. He was chatting up Joaquin in front of a Japanese restaurant I put in Newcrest and Joaquin didn’t exactly look thrilled about it; so maybe he was asking Joaquin to be a godfather or something? Is this a sign from SimGod that some ~spicy~ woohoo is on the way that night?

Anyhow, because the lad had a day off, I fulfilled all the requirements for his promotion and bought some basic furniture to fill a 6x8 room. I crammed a (used) double futon, a baby basket, a toddler bed, a high chair, a fridge, a toilet, a bath tub, and a workstation as efficient as I could and bought some more decoration mod that resembled hastily given wedding gifts (clothes rack, shoe rack, and an ‘adults only’ neon sign that I put up for no other reason than looking cool during nighttime). Must’ve been heaven for Sergio, seeing as he was a materialistic sim. Building the whole room costed me an arm and a leg, and when Robin came back home the two of them had a quick, free meal to save on their food expenses.

Later that night, Joaquin invited Robin to dinner and Sergio tagged along. True to their action earlier, the bros started talking again about SimGod-knows-what and the conversation took a pretty strange turns when bubbles of sun, diaper, baseball gloves, and an anti-Sergio one poured out of Joaquin’s mouth lol. Is he rejecting Sergio’s offer? Is he dissing his bro? Is he really not bad-mouthing Robin, the one whom he had bad relations with?

Sims are... fickle????????

On the side notes, while these three were having a serious conversation, the Landgraab couples came and copulated in front of the entry way. I never would’ve seen it coming, not even when the blue notification box popped up and notified the whole world about their intimate times. I luuurve WickedWhims, but sometimes it’s just too much hassle - both the setting and the random sex pair ups. Teen Alexander Goth came by and excitedly took a picture of the event (shame that NPCs can’t exactly take a picture, though).

Even more later on that night, after they went back to Joaquin’s place from dinner, a certain someone couldn’t keep their hands inside their pockets and flirted a lot. And by a lot, I mean a whole damn lot. Sergio finally won over Robin’s reluctance and they tried for baby inside his old closet while Joaquin took over Sergio’s old bed and slept on it. It took a single try for Robin to carry a kid from the suave tech guru, whereas with Bjorg none of the hot dilly dally even produced in anything but the cum slut spermatozoa fluid hussy moodlet. Good thing she broke up with Bjorg, right?

God, I don’t even want to relish the next part ever again. Possibly one the worst drama I’ve witnessed in sim history, even with the knowledge that all kinds of activity that happens is probably mutually agreed upon. But hey, the worst is yet to come... I think. And the next part of our first generation is going to be a grim and heavy, but I won’t forget to add all the cute parts that popped up here and there. Rewriting my experience so far has made me realize just how dramatic a sims gameplay can be 🤔🤣
