Dipper

◇ First of all this boy is absolutely autistic. My little autistic ass acted so much like him as a kid, I mean, what autistic 12 year old wouldn't base their entire summer around a weird book full of monsters they found?

◇ I think he's a trans dude and aro/ace, and that his crush on Wendy was more comphet than anything. I'm not really a fan of any ship involving him but I think platonic dipcifica could be cute.

◇ Cryptozoology/The Paranormal is absolutely his main special interest, but he also has an sp/in in computers/comp sci (but he's honestly not great at computer stuff).

Mabel

◇ AuDHD Queen! I think her main special interest is absolutely arts / crafts, I mean look at all the silly things she makes throughout the series as well as her dedication to handmaking dozens of puppets/props/etc as well as writing and entire play to impress her crush of the week in Sock Opera. ◇ I think sexuality wise she's not straight but prefers to be unlabelled. I also like to think she's the type to collect xenogenders / neopronouns like pokemon cards. ( she totally uses a bunch of cat-based pronouns) ◇ Shortly after the series I think she'd get a little less Boys-Crazy and focus more exploring who she is as a person / her self expression. Absolutely is gonna have a mall goth/emo/scene phase (she's smushing all three of those together into one thing for herself).

(I also think Mabel and Dipper were born identical twins)

Grunkle Stan

◇ Also AuDHD, not quite sure what his big main special interest would be but he's absolutely hyperfixated on Ducktective. Also going off the story in Lost Legends I think he'd absolutely be getting into making comics / drawing in general (even if hes not great at it). Post series I think he'd spend a lot of his free time out at sea drawing in the boat's cabin. Mostly making comics of silly re-tellings of he and Ford's adventures out at Sea (he absolutely shows Dipper and Mabel these if he and Ford video calls them when they're on land) ◇ I'm a transfem Stanley truther. He doesn't really realize/come to terms with it until post-series. I think she'd just grow out her hair and throw it in a pony-tail + use she/he pronouns to transition. She'd still use the name Stanley and be fine with both masc/fem terms (ie fine be called a man or a woman). Also he's bisexual (but has known this since he was like a teen, even if he didn't have the words to label it.) ◇ I think his Popsicle addiction from the unaired pilot is real and canon. Old autistic men love popsicles just look at my dad and grandfather.

Ford

◇ oh boy its projection time (i am a stanford pines fictive) 😈😈😈

◇ Transmasc, somewhere under the nonbinary umbrella but very guy adjacent. Mainly uses he/him pronouns but I think he'd use "it" and "they" aswell. Gay and Arospec as well. ◇ Autism + NPD + Schizophrenia wombo combo. He's sooooo NPD coded its INSANE, I am going to write an essay about it in the future. Goes without saying that his special interests are the paranormal and various sciences, but I think he has a hardcore love for the arts as well. ◇ Going off both the autism and arospec HC- I think he's the type to convince himself he has a crush very easily, when in reality he just has a strong admiration / platonic love for those in question, and had strong platonic feelings for McGucket back in college that he confused for romantic ones (projecting 100000000%) (i think the Stan twins were fraternal twins)

Sanemi and Giyuu are exes (Part 2)

Ok so this part is just spoilers galore but if you don't mind then ok. Here's part one.

The second beginning

During the final battle after they have both unlocked their demon slayer marks. They are more open with each other, Sanemi has learned to trust others and Giyuu has learned to trust himself and Sanemi throwing the sword is awesome for him because it's Sanemi telling him that 'I trust you, don't let me down!' and Giyuu thinks 'Yes! I'll do my best!'. The previous training that they've done now comes into play because they know each other's moves and are able to fight together seamlessly!

The last shot of them eating Giyuu's favorite dish together not only calls back to Sanemi's offer, but I feel that it's also a way for Giyuu to begin opening up, like he's telling Sanemi 'This is me' and that he wants Sanemi back and wants to mend their relationship.

The side eye Sanemi's giving Giyuu is so funny because he seems wary. I can just imagine their conversation.

Sanemi: You'd better not fuck this up again, or I will leave your ass for good.

Giyuu (already playing the part of the whipped husband): Yes, dear.

Some proof

Like I said in the Part 1, I already talked about the romantic undertones in Giyuu's attempts to connect with Sanemi by his body language and expressions. It's obvious Giyuu wants him and now that Tanjiro has touched his heart a second time, he now has a stronger understanding of his emotions and what he wants.

Here, I'll list a bunch of tidbits that point to them having a previous relationship.

Giyuu and Tanjiro's discussion about Sanemi post coma-inducing punch should've stopped at theories as to what type of bean paste he likes, but they kept on talking about him. I don't think Giyuu would do that if he didn't know more stuff about Sanemi, maybe through their past interactions, his own observations or both.

Giyuu describes Sanemi as grumpy and hot-tempered in the Corps records, contrast this with his thoughts on Obanai. He feels sad and doesn't know why our snek boy doesn't like him but with Sanemi the short description he gives is similar to one I would give about someone I'm familiar who has a major flaw that I can't ignore that makes it hard for me to connect with them.

How did Sanemi know where Giyuu's training grounds were? Even Tanjiro who has spent a considerable time with Giyuu still needed a map for directions. You might argue that Sanemi's crow probably told him where Giyuu's place is, but neither of their crows are present during the entire scene. So Sanemi has to have known where, which means he's probably been there before and has sparred with him in the past.

I've talked about how their fight was similar to a conversation than actual training, and the way that they're able to perfectly counter and dodge each other's moves tells me that this isn't their first time sparring. There's also Sanemi's demeanor during the fight, in his training with Obanai and Muichiro, he was serious but with Giyuu he's...smiling? He was enjoying himself, even his taunts to Giyuu had a playful edge to it. It's like he's happy to be sparring with an old friend.

Giyuu's lack of reaction when Sanemi suggests that they beat each other up. He doesn't seem threatened, it's like he knows that Sanemi isn't actually going to hurt him and based on Sanemi's annoyance at Tanjiro coming between them, there's a small chance that Sanemi might have been joking and Giyuu knew it. It wasn't as big of a deal as Tanjiro made it out to be.

In Conclusion, Sanemi and Giyuu probably have history, which is why the vibes between them feel like they're an old, married couple.

*Yes, I am crazy and yes, this is an ADHD, 4 hours of sleep, caffeine-induced breakdown. Their relationship is my current hyperfixation, and I'm going to make it everyone's problem 🙂. It's all Ufotable's fault.

the gods all have favorites, and ironically none of them are their own kids (save for hades: he loves his kid. doesn't make him a good parent, but you know?)

In a more Zelda timeline abiding setting; Originally they weren't all at camp halfblood at the same time, but time shenanigans decided they were to be brought together

Imagine Chiron’s surprise when 7 of his dead campers waltz into camp (this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME they enter camp. Dionysus is completely unfazed, knowing the bs time shit the gods are dealing with atm)

By the time they enter camp in Wild’s Hyrule for the second time he kinda understands (Wind and Sky didnt have a Camp Halfblood, for the record, for obvious reasons)

Alternatively, its some form of modern au where they’re just from different parts of Hyrule (skyloft, downfall, ordonia, windfall peninsula, hyrule town (different from castle town), the list goes on) which would make a lot more sense for this kinda au (the world would’ve just had a LOT of calamities within the span of a few years, some of the heroes knowing about camp and others not so much)

(i think Legend, Wars, Time, Wind (post WW) and Four would’ve known about Camp Halfblood while the others were just kinda on their own until after their quests) meaning over half of them didn’t have prophecies and just went to deal with the issue themselves, possibly meaning on their journey they learned of camp

Ok well, all of them but Wars, who grew up at Camp Halfblood

All Zelda’s are children of Athena, save for Skyward Sword Zelda since she's the reincarnation of Hylia (yeah, im keeping the original Zelda goddesses! What of it?)

At some point fairly early on, a Zelda only had a son, who got together with Athena at some point and boom

he was the "first" Link; Zeus was technically the first God, it makes sense (this is such a stupid reason)

The skies are his home, Zeus finding someone on Skyloft and “falling in love” with their love of the sky too results in this bad boy right here

The demise fight? Only a zeus kid could harbor lightning like that

A camp counselor in the modern setting (ik typically once you’re 18, you’re no longer a camper really, but shhhh)

Wind: child of Poseidon 

Don't roll your eyes, i've got a reason!!

the 4 wind gods throw a fit anytime he's sent on a quest (they all love him even if they won't admit it)

A world purely ocean and islands? Poseidon would have a fuckin ball

The Great Sea needed a hero, Wind was brought about more for necessity than out of the want to have a child (this leaves a hard disconnect between wind and the gods, knowing his dad didn’t really have him out of love for his mom but because the world needed to be saved)

The irony of Poseidon being the patron of pegasi and horses and Wind not knowing what a horse is will never not be a funny thought

Has more control over the wind than he does the sea (for now) 

he, like Legend, pointedly ignores that he's a demi-god, especially since he comes after the Hero of Time (kinda hard to live up to that, even outside of a demi-god au)

The ocean and winds are his mood ring: you upset him the wind gods are after you

In a modern setting, the same reason applies kinda; a quest under the sea would be virtually impossible for anyone but a child of Poseidon, and hell knows a cyclopes isnt gonna be sent (gotta love those prophecies)

The wind gods still adore him, but he doesn't have the hero’s spirit and i think that’d kinda translate to not being a demigod, yet still being the one who was destined to go on the quest because there just weren't any demigods to do it

Ah yes, child of the big three goes on so many quests trope. Love to see it

he's Apollo's favorite favorite (Warriors is jealous as hell. Thats his dad! Wdym he likes Legend more????) 

Pointedly ignores the fact he's a demigod (at least, he definitely tries to)

Blessed by (and beefing with) so many gods from his quests

probably one of the few heroes who's spoken to their godly parent (trust me, it was out of obligation rather than free will)

Prefers helping out the more minor, underappreciated, and not as needy or bitchy gods (like Hestia, for example)

curses the Olympians constantly, they've learned to ignore him, hes their best questing kid

Sort of a general camp counselor since Hades doesn't really have kids (its technically his last year but hes been there the longest out of everyone)

Managed to block the oracle over iris message

After his trip to the dark world and lorule, the gods go haywire around him, much to his delight (because it means they leave him alone)

Hyrule: child of Hecate 

adopted by Hermes (much to the dismay of all the Hermes children)

I was on the line between Hecate, Apollo, and Hermes; Hyrule’s affinity for magic and the blood curse resulted in Hecate to win 

Very detached from the gods, the help he receives is never outright but more subtle blessings

The gods like to ignore Downfall after Legend died tbh (outside of modern, obviously)

Well, they still ignore Downfall as a city/country. 

Only learned of camp thanks to Legend, otherwise he wouldn’t have had a clue it existed

Wild: child of Athena 

Also adopted by Hermes 

One of the more chaotic children of Athena

The idea of Athena being his godly parent sourced from his resourcefulness and quick battle (or just general) strategies, along with his pre-calamity self being stoic and more on the critical side

Completely forgot he was a demigod and just let loose, Athena is more than slightly perturbed by him and yet so infatuated

Supervises archery at camp

Warriors: child of Apollo 

exemplifies almost 0 traits of his father other than his looks and his affinity for medicine (shit archer, shit musician, can't write poetry)

blessed by Athena during the war since he was struggling so much, she always has a soft spot for the heros since they fight to protect her daughters so hard (aka pity blessing) 

Actively beefing with Ares 

Aphrodite likes to keep an eye on him, mostly for entertainment (she woulda eaten the whole Cia debacle UP)

Very notorious in camp considering he was a war captain at the ripe age of 17; once learning of the whole Camp Jupiter has apartments and college for half bloods insisted and led a project at CHB to get something similar built (which is where he, Sky and Twilight stay after turning 18)

Twilight: child of Demeter

His love for ranch animals and caring for his farm lead me to this decision

Also the whole wolf thing, that also counts

Appalled by the fact Wind doesn't know what a horse is considering he's literally the son of Poseidon (jealous the kid can talk to Epona and he can't)

After his journey to the twilight, the gods kinda flicker between Greek and Roman around him so they tend to avoid him like Legend

blessed/cursed by Lupa, hence the wolf thing

Teaches foraging lessons at camp

Four: child of Hephaestus

He's the smithy, I couldn’t not say he's a Hephaestus kid

received a lot less help from the gods since he was one of the first 

started advocating that heros receive help from the divine after LU concludes so those after him have a fighting chance (not in the modern setting)

I havent played many of his games, but the kinstones sound like a thing Hephaestus would scatter across the earth as scrap from his creations

Not one of the fire wielders (the only one that can wield fire is Red when split, mostly because of the elemental bs in minish cap)

After drawing the Four Sword, Janus (despite being roman (i like to think the four sword would be a roman artifact, it just feels right)) was suddenly pretty interested and bestowed what wisdom he had for the demi-god

Vulcan, Neptune, Aeolus, and Ceres all came together to forge the elemental stones; the Minish were still the ones to bestow the sword to Hylian people

The gods tend to avoid him too, for the same reason they avoid Twilight and Legend (dark world shenanigans and the Four Sword)

He loves the damn forge at CHB, and was ecstatic seeing the one at Camp Jupiter

He was asked by Chiron if he would be interested in running a forge class for young demigods (be it his siblings or anyone interested) but sadly declined 

Has that air of responsibility to him, being a seasoned quester (and while his 3 doesn't stand to Legend’s 6, its still pretty sizable) hes looked up to by the younger campers

Time: child of Demeter Kronos? 

The Kokiri were so Demeter core dont even tell me they werent

I guess they’d kinda act like nymphs and dryads in a sense??

His abilities use to relate to his mother until the events of his first quest: the Ocarina of Time was designed to slowly corrupt the user, being a creation of Kronos’

However, it wasn’t really designed with a demigod in mind sooo…

Also self explanatory, the titan of time? Duh… huh?? what do you mean he was taken over?? What do you mean he was a child of Demeter?? No he wasnt lol that Neverrr happened

the reason he's the only “child” of a titan is mainly because of the fierce deity mask literally making him god-like, meaning he has a lot more power harbored in him sooo (the second he dawned that mask he discarded his old identity for that of a titan’s child, since it was also cursed object)

Don’t ask how he came to being Kronos’ kin, no one knows, not even he does (I do) (no, it does not imply a Hylian wandered into Tarturus and got out alive to have the baby)

Avoids interacting with the gods at all costs, he's weary of them as they are of him (even if he saved the world twice)

Extras :)

Ravio: child of Pluto 

blessed by Minerva for his natural quick witted nature and clever war strategies, if her own daughter can't succeed she might as well make sure ONE does

can tell if a rupee is real or not by glance alone

Sheerow scares the fuck out of the gods, which in turn means Ravio puts them on edge, a thing very few can achieve

the gods never gave him much thought until the events of albw, to which he suddenly gained like four pair of godly eyes on him

can and will plan one of the worlds most successful heists, refuses to participate 

also beefing with Ares (not Mars, Ares)

Based on my personal HC that Ravio’s some sort of artificer (be it replicating magic dungeon items or just flat out creating new ones) i think Vulcan has his eyes on him too

Hilda: child of Minerva 

by far the strangest child Minerva ever birthed

exemplifies the traits of a hero rather than a ruler

a little jealous her mother likes Ravio more than her

gods be damned, she's not going to let them neglect her kingdom anymore 

a force of fucking nature that single handedly forced a meeting with the gods and somehow forced them to agree to start restoring Lorule (she got the idea from Legend, who has done this multiple times for multiple different reasons)

It being me, I have not posted in literal years, i think, but my teenage mutant ninja turtles hyperfixation has been reawakened. Anyways I have some headcannons on how the lives of our boys would look in the future if they all went their separate ways, no traumatic post apocalypse arc included...

Leo

Is the one to stay in the Lair

He will move into Splinters room, making it his own.

One day, a bunch of children came exploring in the sewers because they had heard of there being monsters.

They discovered Leo as he saved them from falling off of a very high ledge

Ever since, they have been his pupils, and he has been teaching them ninjitsu.

Will visit his brothers to take care of them

Raph

If Raph and Mona worked out, he would go to war with her for the Scalamandians

He would spend a few years traveling through space with her, fighting with her.

If it did not work out, he would earn money in an underground fight club

That's one of the few places he can be amongst the people

Would rent a shitty room there, that has barely enough space for him and Chompy.

Chompy will grow around the size of a big dog

Will earn a reasonable amount of money, but will spend it on whisky and sigarettes.

Donnie

He will get fully emerged in the studies of the universe and dimensional travel

Ever since going to space, it has opened his mind to how much there still is to learn

He can't get his mind off of the knowledge that he never had the chance to acquire while in space and is trying his best to find a way to get it anyway.

Will not eat or drink, because he is so obsessed. He's lucky Leo comes to visit.

Hasn't seen his other brothers in months

He lives in an abandoned kraang lab, where he has the space and leftover equipment to conduct his experiments and do his research

Starts talking to himself more

Slacks on his ninja training, becoming weaker and less skilled in fighting

Mikey

Travels some places, was probably seen by a lot of people

When he comes back to NYC, he will live with Leo in the lair for a while

Will mostly hang out in alleyways with dealers

If he doesn't snitch, they don't

Regularly smokes the green stuff

He will probably become like a local legend

Will help around, when he hears about people having random problems, they're suddenly fixed the next day

It makes him feel like a superhero

Eventually, I feel like they will come together as a team again because they found out they need each other more than they thought...

Fop: a new wish Tword headcanons!

Because, once again, hyperfixation lol. In this is Dev, Hazel, Cosmo +Wanda, and Peri, in that order. (long post)

Dev (I love this silly lil guy)

-he is def a lee, although he likes twording ppl as well.

-he didn’t know until after he got really introduced to it(he always knew what it was and kinda what it felt like, but never really experienced it that much.) but he really likes being tworded. [don’t worry man, same 🙏]

-his death spot (and coincidentally, his favorite spot to be tworded) is his tummy!

-his laugh is the happiest sounding giggle you’ve ever heard. This laugh is so bouncy and bubbly and sweet. It’s the kind of laugh that you just know whoever’s producing it is having the time of their life.

-Whenever he’s tworded he stims, usually with flappi by his hands or little kicks. However, he never seems to try and get away.

-very easily flustered, both by the fact that he’s ticklish and that he likes it. however he can say the tword with ease(unlike me)

-would try to hold off his laugh but fail miserably

-he is weak to raspberries and tword games, but as much as he likes to deny it he loves them.

-after being introduced to twords, he gets lee moods, and the first one he ever got he did not understand. ‘Why do I feel all buzzy? Why do I want to be tickled?!’ Peri was happy to explain and assist (probs gonna write a fic of this one)

-Now, when it comes to being the ler, Dev is an absolute little shit.

-he likes to tword others, both because it’s fun for him and because he likes seeing others laugh. (He will tell you it’s just the first one. That it’s fun for him to make other ppl powerless)

-He’s pretty new to the whole thing, so he’s not super good at it yet, but he’s trying, and getting better!

Hazel

-She is a ler leaning switch!

-she loves to start tword fights and absolutely loves it as a bonding experience.

-Her laugh is very wheezy, but don’t worry she’s fine.

-her worst spot is her ribs

-She doesn’t actually squirm all too much, kinda just goes limp.

-she is immune to visual teases after the twords start, because as soon as she starts getting tworded she shuts her eyes.

-Hazel loves to use twords as a way to cheer up her friends. (Although she tends to leave Jazz out of it since she’s afraid of being tworded)

-she is not shy about her love of twords at all. She’s very open about it.

-I didn’t come up with this one,(that award goes to my mootie @randommusicalfluff) but after finding out Dev is twordish, she absolutely gets him any time he’s being pretentious or pushing people away.

-she uses baby talk. And lots of it. A fave of hers is definitely to just repeat the tword over and over again in a teasy voice.

Cosmo + Wanda

-putting them together cause they’re basically a package deal.

-both of them are even switches.

-they love to team up, but also love to get into tword fights with eachother.

-sometimes after a tword fight they’ll have a cuddle sesh and watch a movie

-Cosmo’s worst spot is his wings, and his laugh is very funny, and kinda high pitched.

-Wanda’s worst spot is her armpits, and her laugh is kinda rough but very sweet sounding.

-they will use their magic to their advantage in a tword fight, or when lering as a whole.

Peri (my fav boi!!)

-he’s a ler but he likes being tworded too.

-his worst spot his also his tummy (him and his godkid have something in common that way.)

-when he’s tworded he squirms but mostly just curls into a ball. Most of his movements are in his wings, which usually flutter around rapidly.

-his laugh is very smooth, but also very frantic sounding. And it can get very loud.

-Now, as you’ve probably gathered, Peri loves to tword Dev. Especially to cheer him up. He just loves to see his godkid happy.

-he has a ridiculously good sense of when someone is in a lee mood. He just knows

-he loves to make a game out of it, and is overall a very silly ler

-the more he can make someone laugh the better he feels.

-hasn’t thought about using his magic before, until he sees his parents do it.

Summary: The sign at the local ren faire looks tempting. After all, Steve is one year out of high school and has no idea where his life is going. Sometimes he wishes someone could just gaze into the future and figure it out for him.

In the fortune teller’s tent, Steve has a run-in with his past. And if he doesn’t turn on his heel and leave, it has absolutely nothing to do with how pretty Eddie Munson looks in his costume, all gleaming jewelry and dark tendrils of hair spilling out from under a patterned headscarf. He lets Eddie read his palm, because why the hell not? It’s all bogus anyway!

Except, as the summer goes on, Steve finds that Eddie’s cryptic predictions somehow, inexplicably keep coming true. As they keep running into each other, almost as if orchestrated by an invisible force, Steve can’t help but be intrigued with the other boy. He also can’t seem to forget how pretty Eddie’s eyes look in black liner, or the way his fingers feel on his skin, but that is an entirely different problem.

The sign at the local ren faire looks tempting. After all, Steve is one year out of high school and has no idea where his life is going. Sometimes he wishes someone could just gaze into the future and figure it out for him. 

In the fortune teller’s tent, Steve has a run-in with his past. And if he doesn’t turn on his heel and leave, it has absolutely nothing to do with how pretty Eddie Munson looks in his costume, all gleaming jewelry and dark tendrils of hair spilling out from under a patterned headscarf. He lets Eddie read his palm, because why the hell not? It’s all bogus anyway! 

Except, as the summer goes on, Steve finds that Eddie’s cryptic predictions somehow, inexplicably keep coming true. As they keep running into each other, almost as if orchestrated by an invisible force, Steve can’t help but be intrigued with the other boy. He also can’t seem to forget how pretty Eddie’s eyes look in black liner, or the way his fingers feel on his skin, but that is an entirely different problem.

long meditation on jade and dave's relationship - part 1

here's a three-part heavy homestuck meta. took me about 3 days to scrobble together and format and everything

i apologize in advance for the disorganization of my thoughts. after writing it i realized this is probably one of the clearest glances into how my mind thinks associatively so everything relates in some way to something else in here. the foundations for my thoughts might be invisible to others because they can’t see the connections ive built upon but you can probably see them here, and that strong foundation is also why i care so much about them and why i chose to lay it all out. sometimes i feel like i have Got to get this tangled associative web out of my head and into some form of writing so other people can be like, “oh so This is why you have so much to say” and can just. see into my head and where it all comes from for me. people have expressed interest and the general opinion tends to be that people like hearing my thoughts a lot so yeah. pov you are in my brainwebs. seatbelts everyone get on the magic school bus in that bitch

some time ago i saw this post i saw as i was going through florals jade tag again. my homestuck hyperfixation flared up again and ive been hyperfocused on dave and jade and particular just absolutely entering these monotropic black holes over them and turning them around at different angles and looking at discussions and what people thought both now and in the past and now that im older i can appreciate them even more. ive always been a fan of dave and jade both, but i cant even lie dave has my whole heart so maybe im biased as well. but i like to believe that regardless of my liking for dave and interest in not even x-ray scanning him just straight up 3D mri scanning him and rotating him in my head that my argument is still very reasonable. i just understand his psychology a lot

i want to preface this by saying i absolutely love floral and im so glad she’s on the hsbc team because i know she can do jade harley justice. one of the best jadesters fr. we all come into media analysis with different personal experiences and perspectives, and i understand this was from her perspective as someone who had run ins with dumb boys and relates a lot to jade which is why she can put so much love into her <3 i just found myself disagreeing with some of the arguments that she presented in that post just as a peer who also read the comic from my own perspective. keep in mind i also love jade to bits and want the best for her

so yea this isn’t a targeted post at all. it just got the juices flowing and inspired me to actually write my pre-existing thoughts down and i used it as a springboard for them

i think it ended up being pretty insightful overall especially because i was stoned as fuck writing it and ive come to realize being stoned amplifies and improves the output of my deeply inwardly associative thought processes tenfold. or maybe weed just changes how significant it feels. maybe a little of both

part 1: on using davesprite as a basis for interpreting jade's relationship with all daves

i love what hussie does with alternate versions of characters and. it’s one of the coolest things about homestuck’s characterization. like floral quoted:

… we see that Jack is a simple man, no matter what name he goes by. He is, if not much else (and he’s not), impatient and violent. We only got the briefest glimpse into these qualities when we were first introduced to him on Derse. But now we get to spend much more time with him, albeit in the form of a completely different character. This is another bit of sneaky utility provided by this intermission tangent. It serves as an arc to help indirectly characterize the villain of the early acts. Having multiple copies of a character operating in totally different circumstances turns out to be a great stealth characterization tactic, and it gets used much more aggressively later in the story. In fact, it proves to be inseparable from one of the story’s most essential themes. (Hussie’s Intermission commentary)

so i agree in principle and think the alt self thing is fucking brilliant

however, i disagree with the argument it’s supporting.

So, not the same character, but if switched, I would go out on a limb and say that Dave would experience all the same issues as Davesprite did, but without the “bird” part acting as an easy explanation. That doesn’t make Dave responsible but it does speak volumes to how their personalities respond to each other, insinuates that a relationship involving any Dave would end badly for Jade and that “Real” Dave indeed has Some Issues To Deal With.

i don't agree that dave and davesprite should be compared in this context. yes they are splinters of the same character and floral is right on the money in that canon deflecting the relationship failing on "bird issues" doesn't really explain anything meaningful, but i do not think its the case that all of jade’s relationships with dave are doomed to fail because of what we saw with jade and davesprite.

yes, if switched, dave strider would be practically identical to davesprite since they were the same exact person until a branch in the timeline

however, it's the unique things davesprite has been through that made him like this. davesprite has baggage that dave doesn't. a timeline where john was tricked into fighting his denizen early and died and jade couldn't get in on time and was presumably wiped out dinosaur style on earth. with alt future dave's year-worth of knowledge, gear, loot, and experience, he rescinded his player status and "realness" as a human person to be a game guide for his naive past self right before the timeline split in order for himself and his friends to continue existing.

that would mess anyone up mentally. it's no wonder he's jaded, no pun intended. he's depressed as shit and bitter and probably has trauma issues unrelated to his bro, though they do compound on it. yes they both experienced bro's abuse but i'm talking about the differences between alpha timeline dave and davesprite; right now im not going to talk about things that are the same about them prior to the timeline split because it applies to them both so it's redundant.

essentially what's setting them apart is their experiences playing sburb, their chronological age (alt future dave/davesprite had been making timeloops over a span of four months and he says that in total the time from his chronological perspective is close to a YEAR in sburb grinding shit out before he goes back), their relationship to their friends and how their friends see them and how they see themselves, their ontological natures as beings, what their purposes are.

davesprite had his ontological status as a person and purpose changed. he assumed he'd be the one playing and doing important main shit in the alpha timeline with all his friends but then it turns out that wasn't the case due to the events that went down in his timeline. and becoming a sprite solidly changed his degree of existence. davesprite's best friend john asking if he can talk to "the real dave" is when i think he realized just how fucked up his existence as a person has become despite him doing pretty much everything for everyone for nearly a YEAR before the alpha timeline was even able to get properly started. if davesprite didn’t exist, nobody would have (john needed to live to do ectobiology). davesprite knew this and weaponized it against john who john treated as a secondary, lesser dave. so of course he’s kind of an asshole. it’s like his efforts and sacrifices meant squat to the people he considered his best friends because they didn’t experience it. to john he just suddenly appeared from the future and became a sprite.

this is heavy shit for davesprite that alpha timeline dave does NOT have to go through and it did change him in ways that cannot be said about alpha timeline dave. this is not a universal dave experience. so while it’s true that dave has the capacity of act like davesprite under those exact circumstances, alpha timeline dave didn’t undergo those that led to davesprite’s more miserable traits. therefore i don’t think it’s fair to conflate jade’s failed relationship with davesprite in particular as informing of how most of jade and dave’s relationships would unfold, because davesprite has been in exceptionally tragic circumstances, coming to terms with the state of his own existence. the last thing davesprite needs is romance. alpha timeline dave does not carry this burden.

Everyone believed that what was creating the dissonance wasn’t a central part to Dave’s character but an aftereffect of Bird Syndrome. Which you can’t blame them for because there’s nothing that would lead them to think differently. Every character besides Dirk is completely in the dark about Bro’s abuse and Dave stated he’d probably never tell any of the Betas. Which is fine, no one’s owed to know somebody’s baggage. But when you don’t give people a means to understand what you’re going through, especially when it leads you to hurt them, its only inevitable everyone’s going to be confused and going to come to conclusions using what they do know.

rebuttal to this: as i said earlier i don’t buy the whole bird issues thing and i get the handwaviness about being fused with a bird being john’s explanation for davesprite’s bullshittery. however i think it’s important to mention that john and jade both question if becoming a sprite might have had something to do with his change.

being fused with a bird never bothered him, as jade says. it was all the other baggage that came with the prototyping.

this includes playing the game for way longer than anyone else and mindlessly grinding from the ground up for about a year, then turning himself into a game construct and having his ontological level of existence as the platonic ideal form of dave strider lowered in the eyes of his friends.

JOHN: why is he such a basket case? he's like regular dave, but like, aloof enigma edition. JOHN: maybe it's because he's part bird? i think becoming a bird and a sprite did something weird to him. JADE: i dont think being a bird ever bothered him JADE: like i said... its all more complicated than that JOHN: normal dave was so much more level headed. JOHN: i have to admit, i spend a lot of time wondering what he and rose are up to. JADE: me too JOHN: ehh... JOHN: maybe it's for the best he broke up with you. JADE: why? JOHN: well, what kind of future do you think you would have with him? JOHN: he's a sprite. like really, what even is a sprite? how long do they live? will he still be around if we win the new game we are allegedly trying to get to? JADE: i dont know (p.5294)

as for the bro abuse thing, i can’t tell if floral’s position here is that davesprite is fucked up and had a failed relationship with jade because of bro’s abuse, and that dave would also necessarily have failed relationships with jade because he had the same experiences and also doesn’t tell anybody? the wording there is kind of vague and can be interpreted in different ways but that’s how i interpreted it.

they are right that bro’s abuse is something dave keeps to himself. but remember that dave has also deluded himself about it to cope. he doesn’t know what to think of it himself. both alpha timeline dave and davesprite have this baggage, but we explore it more with alpha timeline dave.

i know dave said in the post-retcon timeline when having a conversation with dirk that he could never tell karkat all of this or any of the betas about his abuse. but i still find this pesterlog interesting and i want to put a spotlight on it. even while dave was still chugging that copium, jade was the person he was closest to opening up about the nature of his relationship to his bro at this point. remember this is quite early on in the comic and he didn’t have 3 years on the meteor to contemplate it yet when he said this to her, his bro had just died at this point

even if he’s in denial about it, deciding to point out the positivity he can rationalize about it to avoid spending too much time thinking deeply about it (it makes him uncomfortable), he’s getting closer to acknowledging the truth here that shit wasn’t normal, about it being “bizarre” and you can tell hes being genuine here when he thanks jade for her concern about his loss

dave then continues talking about his thoughts/feelings on the situation after jade says “sure”, as if he took her concern as an invite to open up about his thoughts even when it’s something vulnerable for him that he tried putting on false bravado in front of terezi about. jade then abruptly changes topic to what’s to be practically done about these tragedies—dave was still on the topic of his bro and she changed the topic to jack noir without clarifying, hence he goes “what”

this is interesting because terezi tried to get something out of him about this and was met by riddly puzzlecock and false bravado but he’s pretty straight up about his current feelings with jade. basically it really depends on the person dave is talking to.

in this specific argument, floral approaches grimbark jade solely from the position of her being uninhibited which is true in many ways, but grimbark jade is also quite nefarious and not in her right mind. i think that even if jade were unihibited and spoke her mind, she wouldn’t have it in her push the mayor into lava to get dave to fight her. thats the evil. floral does acknowledge this in a separate post though, but it’s not really touched on in her argument im discussing. i also want to reiterate that even though it might seem like im violently ripping this post limb from limb its really just something to bounce my pre-existing thoughts off of. this is all written with civility towards and respect for floral

even roxy says something about this—that the schtick doesnt suit her. like it doesnt feel like something she’d have the natural capacity to really be without some external influence

so i don’t think everything jade says here should be taken to heart about her real feelings or how she would express them if she was being genuine as her normal self. we know jade can get mad but i think we’re giving her evil possession a little too much credit

that’s why i was personally disappointed in grimbark jade when homestuck was ongoing, is it felt like it didnt really give us anything? it was like empty calories while just waiting for the regular jade to come back which she never did. it is interesting to look at in retrospect to see if there’s anything there but…grimbark jade isn't exactly a reliable narrator. i guess none of them are but like, especially not grimbark jade. if i can’t separate what’s genuinely jade under this mess from what isn’t then what’s the point?

like for example this was left out of floral’s argument when showing this part, but in the comic grimbark jade tells dave that he’s “more messed up inside than davesprite” …. right after dave wouldnt comply with her demands to fight her and doesnt want to fight lord english. that’s…not really telling about anything at all for either of them. jade is evil and if things dont go the way she’s programmed to get them to go she’s gonna flip her lid. this is what i mean about her not being in her right mind

Writing this headcanon post took me a VERY long time, because I usually write everything in one go, just "typing" as many thoughts and images as I can and then "pouring" it into a Microsoft word document and feeling like a genius xD First, when I met him and his references in the game for the first time, he was… unpleasant to me 💀 Very much 💀💀💀 And then hyperfixation happened, which can now be seen on my blog 💀💀💀… Welcome, blorbo #2, you will never be the first, because it is impossible to dislodge Damian from his throne (throne in the form of Gremia)… But you are still my favorite 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 (I changed his portrait a bit and it feels more in-character now)

So, my Logarius is a half-pthumerian, half-breed. His mother is the woman on the portrait in the robes of the bell ringers, also pthumerian (I gave her the name Ionela).

As a child she saw the military clash between Cainhurst and pthumeru that took place in the dungeons. Her husband was one of the knights who served Cainhurst faithfully and died early. He was a pureblood nobleman, and his ancestors were among those who had separated from pthumeru centuries ago to establish their own, separate branch of the family with blood drinking and luxury. Ionela and her husband had produced two boys, twins, Rogerius and Rutger. Ionela had a good place at court and even had close relationship with Annalise's mother, the past queen of Cainhurst, and there was a kind of friendship between them that helped Ionela stay near royal family, since her husband had been a source of influence before. And both boys were granted the title of page, both were to become knights. Roger and Rutger both closely communicated with little Annalise, and even though the princess lived surrounded by governesses and teachers, the three sometimes played together. Roger was more closed - he dreamed of his deceased father, for he knew what a glorious warrior he had been. He had tried to be more manly and strong since his childhood, when Rutger was more romantic and prone to fantasies, tenderness and feelings. Little Rutger had sympathy for young Annalise, and Annalise had eyes for young Roger (it was mutual). (Oh no, Fareeha is making up love triangles again.)

I read that this ^^^ is a portrait of Logarius/King Cainhurst from the time when the two were one (actually, from that fact comes the fact that to me they are twins). So Rutger and Roger's appearance can be imagined based on the portrait. I really like to think that young Rogerius and princess Annalise might have been in love with each other the way children can be in love - very pure and innocent. He may have even kissed her on the cheek once, and it remained a little secret between them, which would later dissolve into all the grief that would happen to them. In any case, all three were gradually growing up. Rogerius served as a page to one of the nobles, a knight as worthy as his father, and that man was the very "foreign" executioner whose gloves have been passed down from generation to generation that we find in the castle.

I know that the executioner of Cainhurst and the executioners of Logarius are two different things, however, in my vision Logarius was very much inspired by his first mentor, an executioner from southern lands. Also, I was initially confused about the executioner in the castle. In my vision, the executioner is supposed to be an unsightly figure, someone who "cleans up the dirt" by executing transgressors and traitors. He was supposed to be a very strong and cruel man, cold-blooded and used to death, living in the shadow of the nobles. However, reading the Japanese forums led me to think that the Executioner could have been a VERY honorable man? Even an honorable knight, maybe even close to the affairs of the royal court.

And it just so happened that young Rogerius served him as a page, helping with weapons, learning fighting techniques, and preparing for knighthood. And part of the ideology of the executioner, whom I named Manuel, was passed on to Logarius. More specifically, it was his ability to kill quick and mercilessly and his ability to unmistakably identify people whose blood starts to deteriorate and lead them to turn into a beast and be cursed. And also interest to blood and anatomy... Young Rogerius thought a lot about blood back then. There were too many things occupying his young head. He grew up without a father, like his brother, but inwardly suffered more from it. While his brother, Rutger, reached out to the rest of the nobility and was sociable, Rogerius looked for a mentor in everyone, the one person who would be ONLY his (a kind of possessiveness), and in simple words had huge daddy issues.

Serving to an executioner, he saw more than once people turned into beasts because of blood, and also...

"It is said that the nobles found immeasurable delight in the dances of these vengeful specters"

(I can understand them. But he couldn't). Rogerius even began to take a certain dislike to Annalise because of this. Rogerius was also intrigued by his own roots as a pthumerian, but his mother restricted him from trying to learn more. Ionela had long ago renounced her heritage and did not want her son to seek knowledge, especially after the military clash there was a "taboo" on the subject of their ancient history.

Rogerius was very close to his mentor, and after growing up a bit more, even experienced a heartfelt affection and even passion for him. In general, daddy issues of Logarius for me is a very important detail of his personality, because a kind of "father" he will be looking for during his whole life, and this aspiration influenced him a lot.

The longing for roots and the rebellion against the foundations of Cainhurst made him (already a withdrawn introvert) live with thoughts in his own head, where he tried to envision the world as a much better place than it was. And in his vision, the best way to "cleanse" the world was to eliminate all those who carried curse. However, he kept these thoughts to himself. All through his youth he had served faithfully as a squire, and his mentor Manuel was very pleased with him. And he was his first lover, which strengthened Rogerius' attachment even more, and later made him "idealize" the image of a bloodthirsty and apathetic executioner.

As time went on, the bond between Rogerius and his brother became increasingly fragile. Despite being twins, they became very different. Sometime around his 16th birthday, Annalise was crowned on the death of her mother. And from that point on, despite her sympathy for Rogerius, they stopped seeing each other altogether. She had too many responsibilities, and Rutger, who was courting her and preparing for future knighthood, was prophesied to be her husband.

Roger's obsession with his own ideas, his slight fear of blood, his honed ability to kill PEOPLE, not beasts, made him very superstitious and suspicious from a young age. I mean, he began to give things their own meaning, hidden meanings, and also, when his beloved mentor passed away, dying from the claws of a bloodsucker, Rogerius took it as a sign.

To this day, I still wonder - the Radiance - what is it? Is it the voice of the Great One we don't know about? Since it's an existing Rune of Caryll, obviously Logarius has some sort of connection to divine providence after all. My headcanon is that this rune, or rather the shining eye, is something that came to him in dreams. You know - a recurring dream? On the fifth or sixth time, you already realize what's happening in the dream and just observe the events (just recently I had such a dream. It's not related to fanaticism though xd). He may have drawn something from higher matter to him, desperate to find a parent, and also realizing the concept of blood work and the corruption within Caihurst. Perhaps some Great one sensed in him someone vulnerable and sensitive enough to carry the ideals of "purity" forward.

I also had the idea that the Great Ones had nothing to do with it, and Logarius was just a fanatic of his own ideas conveniently falling into the hands of the Church, but Rune! Too much for one Logarius - for all of this to be just his imagination?

Now, he had a vision of the Radiance. The purest it can be, firing all "filth". It sounds a lot like the flames of the Inquisition, of which Logarius will essentially become the head, seeing himself as a savior and righteous man. It's a vision he jealously concealed, trusting no one. Perhaps he would reveal himself to his master if latter was alive. But for now, Rogerius was only slowly going mad, trying to see if his dream was true or not. His behavior many found strange, for he would begin to whisper to the void, and a small offering plate could be found in his chambers. He was slowly sinking into a belief in the golden light that guided and instructed him. (Yes, yes, a huge parallel to Ludwig. However, whereas Ludwig was "bewitched" by the turquoise light of his sword, Logarius sought contact and prayed to the golden eye that came to him. He was now beginning to believe that if something bad happened to him - he was not diligent enough in his prayers or had somehow stained himself with sin)

After a while, Rogerius grew up and was knighted. So was Rutger. (@katyspersonal Remember when you asked me in the tags below the post with my portrait of Logarius in armor??? Here's the context! Sorry it took so many months xD) At this point, somewhere within the castle walls, little Maria is growing up, looking dreamily at the Knights of Cainhurst, dreaming of becoming one of them. After another time, Rutger was engaged to Annalise, by mutual affection and a desire to bear the burden of ruling together (I won't call their union true and only love. Annalise may have been too busy to give vent to her feelings). A year later a beautiful wedding took place.

A castle must still somehow receive provisions and still have knowledge of what goes on outside its walls. I also believe that the royal family of Cainhurst contributed to the founding of Byrgenwerth once upon a time. It would be a reasonable investment for them - keeping in touch with the outside world, patronizing the sciences, and helping a town you want to have friendly relations with.

But one day (years later) the provost of Byrgenwerth - not quite old Willem, accompanied by Gehrman and father of Laurence and several other scholars, requested an audience with the Queen. Willem asked for Cainhurst's help and sponsorship to investigate the ancient catacombs of Pthumeru, discovered near Yharnam. Annalise approved of the idea, the 18 year old knight Maria was seized with enthusiasm and excitement, and Logarius saw it as his chance to finally break free from the shackles of the castle and explore his origins. The arrangement was simple, I think. Cainhurst gives Byrgenwerth warriors and money, and Byrgenwerth gives Cainhurst the relics of their lineage and information about what became of the remnants of the Pthumerians.

During the audience, Laurence's father got a good look at what weapons and medicine Cainhurst has, Willem made new contacts and met the new queen and her future consort, Gehrman met a curious girl and the castle's formidable guardian, Rogerius. Of all the people he saw, Logarius liked Gehrman specifically, he was called "the hunter" out of all of them. He was older, had a very soft timbre of voice and was tense, as if before a fight, always ready to stand up for the people entrusted to him. Logarius even showed him the knights' armory himself, inspiring him to set up his own workshop in the future.

Logarius won't decide to leave his post just yet, but after the visit of the delegation from Byrgenwerth, his visions will be brighter, stronger (and he'll also miss Gehrman a bit. Even though the two of them have spent very little time together, Logarius will miss the man who was willing to listen to him and gently approve of his lectures in a fatherly way. My Gehrman is "father" to half the characters lol).

Laurence's father talked a lot about his theory "On the Properties of Blood". In his dreams, Logarius will start seeing blood all the time and gradually even start his own experiments on it (But his knowledge is based on Cainhurst's teachings, which in turn are based on Pthumeru and Loran and so on). His experiments are less science and more magic. With his sensitivity to blood purity he could serve as a machine to determine if there were impurities in the blood. I think the Blood Saints samples will be his favorite in the future 💀

Using blood magic, he also performed some medical experiments on corpses and sometimes relatively living people. (Like Leonardo da Vinci. Only perhaps less consciously. Like a child trying to mix paints) I think as a trusted knight he could afford it.

Very soon Maria was sent to Byrgenwerth - at her great request and as a "gift" with a few more warriors - help and an offering, and also a reminder that Cainhurst is waiting for results.

I don't know how long it should take for the Fishing Hamlet to happen? A month, a year? But by this point we have the King and Queen of Cainhurst, Rutger and Annalise, and also the King's brother, Knight Rogerius. He is cold, aloof, strict, and keeps his subordinates disciplined (as well as himself). His chambers gradually became a refuge for his religious ideas. The golden light became not just a dream, but part of his personality, an integral light with which Logarius conversed, prayed to, and asked for guidance. A great reminder that "If you talk to God, it's a prayer, and if God talks to you, it's SHIZOPHRENIA (c). (Katy knows what I mean lol)

So it was that Logarius was gradually starting to have. Joking, but not a joke. If he'd even let anyone into his humble abode, perhaps his obsession would have been revealed much sooner? But the knight had no lovers, he rejected the services of palace servants, annoying everyone around him, and his mother couldn't get any communication with her son, nor could she get into his chambers. So there was a real pustule forming inside Cainhurst. So far, however, Rogerius still prayed for a long life for Annalise (his prayers reached heavens!) and his brother, though he thought his twin was a weakling and the queen was too soft.

At certain moment, the letters from Maria stopped coming, as any research from Willem, and artifacts from the upper floors of the catacombs (Byrgenwerth simply Couldn't go deeper yet. Tomb Prospectors don't exist yet).

But one night a carriage does arrive at Cainhurst. Exhausted scholar, more like a madman, he requests a meeting with the queen to offer her an unknown blood sample that Byrgenwerth wanted to withhold. (Laurence's father in my headcanons is a Cainhurst fan, a true simp and adorer. So yes, he stole the blood to bring it to the queen) Logarius doesn't like it, he doesn't understand why royal family should meet a traitor. However, the queen is interested in the new blood.

Next, the idea of Child of Blood probably appears. I can't tell what it is, a desire to regain former greatness? Reunite with the Great Ones through the Child? To bring forth the "Übermensch"? This point is still vague to me for now; perhaps when I write Annalise separately, I'll be able to figure it out. But for now, from Logarius' point of view - his visions and dreams are starting to come true. He sees nobles accepting blood from the queen, sees his own brother's enthusiasm, and sees ancient echoes dancing in the blood. Some nobles are also extremely unhappy with the situation. Normally, a split in noble (as well as religious) society would lead to bloody massacres, but so far both sides are silent, and Logarius tries to talk only to his brother and convince him that all this is heresy. But Rutger has grown too fond of Annalise and too loyal to Cainhurst. And even arguments about their shared true homeland don't help. Logarius sees him as a puppet of an ambitious woman.

Later, Logarius declares that he wishes to help Byrgenwerth with his research, as well as to find the roots of his lineage. And having an excuse, will take a few people with him - those who were willing to follow him. (Importantly - Logarius isn't a Vileblood himself. He fleed to not bring a vow) He didn't lie when he said he would help Byrgenwerth, however, he withheld that he had no intention of returning. Then he had to destroy all traces of his worship of the golden idol and clean his own chambers although he feels uncomfortable doing that even for an urgent reason. There is even a conversation between him and Annalise before he leaves. Annalise by that point is a determined, confident, but still kind woman. And she didn't see his radical sentiments as a conspiracy, because I like to think she still had sympathy for him (And it was mutual. It's just that his expressions of sympathy always look really weird).

Logarius leaves the castle with a few soldiers and even three like-minded nobles. They have all supported his plan, but are yet unaware of the divine power that resides in his thoughts.

Along with Willem, Logarius enters the hidden service of Byrgenwerth and meets Laurence, the son of the very same heretic that ruined Logarius' life lol But Laurence's dislike of his father and the idea of taking the teachings of blood in a whole new direction - fascinate Logarius. Purity of blood, prayers, return to the Great Ones, but as humble servants returning to their patrons - this is how Logarius saw the future Church, the project of which was already maturing between the Provost and his best student. Logarius swore loyalty to them. Laurence managed to get himself the support of a knight by assuring that the future would be based on medical progress and faith. Logarius shared what was happening in his castle, and Laurence and Willem presented him with an opportunity to realize his potential - combining his skills with Gehrman's to become a fighting unit of the future Church.

Maria was not privy to the details (Logarius treated her like a child in a way. He considered her too innocent to know the whole point. He didn't know yet how the Fishing Hamlet had changed her), and neither did Gehrman. All anyone knew was that a dutiful knight from Cainhurst had joined the research to help, and several other nobles along with him. Active research of the catacombs and conversations, developments, projects began. The Order of Executioners does not yet exist. There is Logarius in his heavy Cainhurst armor and his people helping the first hunters. For now, Gehrman's workshop is a haven for all sorts of people. And Logarius also chooses his own weapon, a Pthumerian scythe he found in the Tombs, which becomes the inspiration for the Burial Blade.

Caryll and Logarius inevitably meet. And the result of their crossing for Caryll is series of visions, and he tells Willem about them. Logarius tells young Caryll about his dreams, and then observes a miracle - the young man carves on a tablet the figure that came to him in his dreams, Bill Cypher. Logarius is convinced of his chosenness, his followers are stunned, and Laurence realizes that he has snatched a very large prey. Here comes the apogee of Logarius' obsession with his ideals. Thanks to the discovery of the Rune, he sees the pure truth in his dreams and from this point on he will begin to openly worship his personal idol, and his followers will follow him (This is where the Executioners begin).

I can't say, by the way, that Caryll and Logarius' relationship after this contact was even friendly. Caryll was too physically weak for Logarius to truly respect him, but too important to reject him. But knowing my Caryll's character, the scholar would rather show the knight the middle finger and snort than make contact. Logarius and his teachings have always frightened Caryll. However, Laurence was not willing to listen to any outrage. Caryll initially knew that everything would end in bloodshed, however, he felt that none of his loved ones would be harmed, and so he tried to remain calm.

It was somewhere around this point that Rogerius becomes Logarius, a name he gave himself in order to sever his connection to home. Executioners, a name he chose in memory of his mentor and in honor of the title held by those who had the duty of eliminating and cleansing Cainhurst of the wicked, be they human or beast. In short, he truly believed he was doing the right thing. I think that the idea of the Cainhurst raid was already there between Laurence and Logarius back then. They just didn't publicize it. Laurence benefits from it, and Logarius fancies it his holy mission, even though he feels sorry for Annalise. (But only "Feels sorry" No remorse. Just sadness that she will have to die one day, and he liked her, after all)

Also, during his time with Byrgenwerth, Logarius meets another man. His path crosses with a bandit who hails from Hemwick (and this guy is around sixty y.o.). His body is very strong, but his organism is weak - he smokes from a young age, and also eats whatever he can get. He robs the rich and robs the poor too, he is a misanthrope, a murderer and a man without morals - he has seen too much in life, so he values only strength and the ability to survive. He has lost his relatives, his little son and a wife, so he lives as if every new day is the last. He rarely feels pity, he does not shy away from robbery and plunder, he kills the innocent and the guilty, because he does not care - one day everyone will die. This man's name was Bernard.

They faced each other in battle, and at first they were completely on equal footing. Bernard knew the tricks of Cainhurst knights too well, while Logarius found his quick actions and attacks too reckless. And despite the fact that Bernard was objectively stronger and more cunning than Logarius, the latter came out victorious. The bandit waited for his death, but Logarius did not finish him off - because he was interested. A man of years, formidable and much seen, a criminal, but so empty inside, maimed. And yet there was no madness or bloodlust in him, only indifference. Thus he reminded Rogerius his first mentor very much...

Logarius wanted to help. That's how they learned each other's stories - Bernard told him about himself, his hideous fate and outlook on life, and Logarius told him about his visions and his desire to eradicate the evil that surrounds the city, as well as about Cainhurst and his intentions for the Vilebloods. Logarius will even help him See the Shining, sharing with him what he sees himself to help him find faith. Bernard vows to follow him and Logarius shared his own blood with this man to help.

And so the future Queen Killer joined the Executioners, Logarius' closest associate, a man with many vices, but nevertheless loyal to him and believing in his ideas. And his new daddy. An amusing but funny detail is that when Bernard first entered the Grand Cathedral, several people recognized his face. One had had his barn burned down by Bernard in the past, and another had had his cattle slaughtered. So Yharnam's reception of him was difficult, but did Bernard care? Bernard would immerse himself in dogma and prayer, live by rules new to him, and has a sense in life because of Logarius. He will be able to use his great strength and skills as an assassin for "good".

I really enjoy building headcanons about this couple. As brutal and heartless as Logarius is, he's still a Knight with ideals, raised by etiquette and a strict code. And Bernard is the truest scrap of society, lacking even a shred of nobility. Nevertheless, they quickly established a common language, and Bernard even taught Logarius many "simple" wisdoms of life - domestic, survivalist and even love (together to roast meat or fix the church bench - it's so manly). Also yes, QK's funny habit of running around with no clothes on - has been almost always. He endured the first year after the Church was officially founded wearing the Executioners uniform, but then he'd still unbutton his shirt and throw off his cloak because he was used to the difficulty. By his logic, if you're incapable of surviving without armor, you're incapable of surviving anywhere. Typical Elden Ring player who thinks that leveling up, picking up builds and weapons is git gud Anyway, Logarius got himself a new "daddy". He was very similar to his first mentor - the true Executioner of Cainhurst, but was much more stern than the Gehrman who had impressed Rogerius. Perfection.

They also had the warmest father-son relationship between them. It started unspokenly, they never discussed it. It was just that Logarius was always asking his advice and help (something he usually NEVER did), looking for support, and Bernard was wary at first, and then accepted his new role. And even once stroked his head when Logarius went to sleep on his lap. And it's all very funny, considering Bernard is much shorter than Logarius. And when they hugged, his face was at the level of Logarius' chest.

But back to the events.

Early Healing Church was founded. Logarius actively helps with the design and redesign of the cathedrals, and is also passionate about creating armor for Executioners and hunters. Contact with Cainhurst is still intact, with Laurence and Willem creating a semblance of friendship by displaying the fruits of their labors - various types of blood, as well as finds in the tombs. However, the curse of the beast and progress move together. Many more hunters are becoming necessary. No one informs Logarius that the Church is as interested in contact with the Great Ones as Cainhurst, and he is too busy with his idea to see it.

From the neighboring lands arrives a skillful warrior and hunter, expert in the art of battle and just a sunshine - Ludwig, still in a completely sane mind and set up for great deeds and glorious battles.

The Order of Executioners exists along with the Healing Church, but on its own, so they have their own hidden workshop, where Logarius fully realizes his religious mania. They live according to a certain daily routine: pray, sometimes perform bloodletting, and get punishments for misdeeds. And the Executioners are also often engaged in helping Gehrman's hunters - so far, few in number. And the ranks of the Executioners have widened. Originally, the squad consisted of Logarius and several nobles - skillful warriors. Now Bernard has been added to them, and then the yharnamites - nobles and commoners - joined ranks as well. But there is one thing that distinguishes all of them - only those who truly believe in the miracle of Logarius' Radiance remain in the Executioners, because the rest simply cannot stand the harsh training and strict lifestyle. Executioners are also very well fed, a logic close to gladiatorial goes here. More mass means a better chance of survival. Imagine holding a Logarius Wheel for a moment... (Bernard aka Queen Killer is an exception. He is not weak, he is dry-bodied)

Maria and her so-called "kin" from Cainhurst seen each other in Gehrman's workshop, but she senses changes in him. Logarius does not openly state his murderous intentions for Cainhurst, but tries to debate with Maria on the subject of the Vilebloods. And even believes that she will follow him, since she too did not appreciate the appearance of the Vilebloods. But Maria is only intimidated by his radical attitudes, and she does not share the idea of "To cure a sore finger, you have to cut off your hand."

During the events of the Early Healing Church, Logarius has also made some more new acquaintances.

The scholar Rom annoys him to no end. He doesn't even see her, because Rom is mostly at the Research Hall, working exclusively on experiments. But Laurence is constantly distracted by the thought of her, and in addition to progress, also dreams of marriage. Logarius begins to think that everyone around him is idiot or crazy. He sees in Rom the same Annalise that he used to see in all women he knew. And he thinks that a woman's attempts at self-rule won't lead to anything good.

Somehow I'm sure that he and Adeline could be a great couple, or at least acquaintances… I could really ship them. The problem is that in my vision of the story they only met a couple times, but both were satisfied with the fact xD You see, they both get visions and aspire to their Great One, both are rebels, and Adeline on top of that is an aristocrat and a Blood Saint, her blood would appeal to him especially. I think if I draw Logarius/Adeline ship art one day, you can consider - that's it, I've reached my peak of shipping (not true) xD But damn, they'd look so good. Two gremlins. Just a little bit more and I'll ship them

Logarius and Micolash barely knew each other, because Micolash wouldn't want to get caught by a man with a "sense" for impure blood, and who is a two meter tall big-ass macho with a huge scythe… lol. I think it was enough for Micolash that Damian, who served as the Tomb Prospector under Ludwig's command, told him about Logarius.

Now to the Tomb Prospectors. Ludwig! I tirelessly believe he was their original leader, only later to put on the Executioner's cloak. As Logarius stayed in Cainhurst, the Executioners would need a new head… I've written a headcanon post on Ludwigarius before, but some things might change since then. Some points have stayed the same - they disliked each other at first sight. But they quickly grew close. After all, Ludwig was a true knight, the man Logarius wanted to become, and a compatriot of Manuel, the Executioner and Logarius' first teacher. Ludwig had enough experience to take command of a squad of seven fighters at once (and also to recruit them himself from the streets. He believed that it was better to train the ragamuffins to order than to mush the hunters already trained by Gehrman. The streets would be cleaner and the ranks of hunters broader. Only Damian was sent to him by Laurence.) Ludwig was caring and strict as a father to his soldiers, understanding, kind and very cheerful. And this disposition of his also struck a certain string in the heart of Logarius, who needed exactly this kind of man.

The Executioners and Tomb Prospectos were responsible for different tasks, but the people of Yharnam favored the Executioners. Because Ludwig's men were doing sinful things according to old beliefs (And Ludwig himself, despite his big heart, was distrusted and got a bad reputation because of his work). In short, I wrote all of this right here - X.

On top of that, one day Logarius was able to taste Ludwig, or rather his blood ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) And that, too, excited him - pure blood, a true heir to his ancestors, the blood of the lands southern to Yharnam, where people are sensitive to voices from beyond and insight. Except that in addition to the perfect shade of blood, he sensed something weird (the blood from Byrgenwerth that Laurence had injected Ludwig with, awakening visions in him)

Through the efforts of Laurence and Logarius, the Executioners and Tomb Prospectors have grown closer. The two leaders found common ground, and Logarius found another "dad". And if he was interested in someone, he wouldn't let them go. Often they trained together - so the vicar tried to accustom people to the idea that both squads deserve equal honor, as any order of the Church.

Gradually Logarius and Ludwig became secret lovers (I once mentioned that Ludwig callem him "kitten"? Well hi, that's it again. There was a huge room for love and tenderness in their couple, despite the fact that exactly the MOST brutal man in the Church needed those feelings. Logarius could feel warmth aroung Ludwig that he desired so much. But Ludwig didn't know about his plans). Logarius began to dream that when the time came to die for the purity of blood and on the ashes of Cainhurst, he would give the leadership of the remaining Executioners to Ludwig.

Also, Logarius knew Olek (Honestly, one day I'll drop a long-post with headcanons on him too. For now, he's the object of jokes and memes for my husband and myself) . Olek is a fan of pthumeru history. And despite being a child of the streets, he is a man of principles and with a huge desire for education. He learned to read from pthumerian fairy tales, and so has remained fascinated by the mysterious civilization for life (And later, the mad Olek will help the player kill Queen Yharnam in the Chalice). But his relationship with Logarius didn't go well. How so - a descendant of the Pthumerians, and so disrespectful to Queen Annalise? Olek could never understand him and disliked him, and Logarius liked to add to his after-hours training and duty. Just so he wouldn't slack off.

Logarius knew both Gremia and Damian. Gremia had always thought of him as a "pompous turkey" and resented their captain for getting so close to him. Damian preferred to stay out of the way and tried to make Gremia do the same.

Their glorious time together had left many memories and stirred many feelings. But at Cainhurst, too, time was passing. The Queen continued to receive letters from Maria and didn't know that later letters will be faked by the Church so they can hide her suicide. And even Logarius pretended to send news of himself and the progress of the Healing Church, which was considered an ally of Cainhurst.

Honestly, here I'm not sure, did Annalise or Rutger know how this was all going to turn out for Cainhurst? On the one hand, the Church had their two knights at once, but while Maria was known for her kindness and cold temper, Logarius always had oddities. And those oddities were justified by his brother, in an effort to make Roger look good. Rutger believed he had been badly influenced by their mother, and also that it was good for Rogerius to be away from home. Still, I think Annalise had misgivings that Logarius would do no good. However, both she and Rutger, deep down, loved him for old memories from childhood and faithful service.

Once Logarius even visited the family home, letting them know that all was well, and at the same time familiarized his men with the layout of the castle and checked the fortifications and knights for preparation. He had originally planned to betray and give Cainhurst to the Church, giving away all the hidden passages and secrets of the castle, but on his visit he saw Annalise - pregnant. (This is where I get very confused about the time. I don't know how long it's been, and a Blood Child pregnancy - can go overnight, as it was with Arianna, or it can take much longer, I suppose…) So after that, Logarius made the final decision on Cainhurst's fate (fear of women did the trick)

How did he see his assault on Cainhurst? I think he originally thought of himself as of suicider. "Die yourself and take every enemy with you", a "heroic" move to save others from a horrible fate. But to keep the spoil from spreading, it was necessary to get rid of ALL the Vilebloods (Bloody Crow of Cainhurst and Arianna will survive as we know. Arianna would be covered by the Healing Church, as she and her mother left one night before the massacre, and Bloody Crow would be picked up by Eileen).

Bernard promised him that they would die together. Bernard, by the way, became like Logarius himself because of the blood exchange. That's how I like to explain his unnatural pallor and long life. "Edward, you're a vampire!"

Preparations were already beginning for the assault.

The Tomb Prospectors had made a breakthrough, discovering the future Maiden of the Healing Church, Ebrietas, in the depths of the dungeons. The terrified Great One killed most of the squad, and the encounter with her was not at all "glorious" or "prophetic" as Laurence commanded to be recorded. In the records of the Church, Ebrietas was gained by meeting a prophetess (Rom) surrounded by warriors loyal to the Church. And in reality, one of the Tomb Prospectors was nearly maddened by what he saw when he met a Great One. A battle ensued. While this was happening, Ludwig wandered through the catacombs, almost unable to comprehend where he is because the sword was calling him, clouding his mind. Olek showed the first signs of madness, wandering alone and crying out for the blood of his ancestors. And Gremia and Damian saw with their own eyes how the "icon" of the Church and the idol killed their comrades (Ebrietas was terrified :( ).

The sword was gained, survivors were rescued, and Rom got busy contacting the Great One. And Ludwig's mind started to go down. Logarius devoted the remaining of time before the assault trying to ease Ludwig's soul and weaken the relic's influence. And in part, through the exchange of blood and visions, shared dreams - he succeeded. If Logarius had used his gift for good at all, things might have been much better. But so far he had only taught Ludwig to perceive the voices in his head and helped him get used to the discovery.

I think that because of the events that had befallen him at the last moment, Logarius didn't want to leave Yharnam. No, his bloodlust and thirst for fictional "justice" was still strong, but perhaps he would have stayed to look after Ludwig. Everything that happened with the First Hunter of the Church also made Logarius doubt Laurence (I'm not talking about Willem at all. Laurence sent him on vacation lol). But it was too late to change anything! And so he focused on the sacred mission.

The massacre was especially painful for the Queen. In the middle of the night, taking Cainhurst unexpectedly, the Executioners had complete advantage over the castle, knowing where the defenseless would take refuge and how to overpower the knights. I'm not sure to this day, Was the Blood Child born? Perhaps the baby was killed by Logarius, or perhaps it was miscarried and the umbilical cord was carried by the survivors to the Church (as cut content says). Logarius killed his own brother (And it's so symbolic, considering the castle is called Cain's Hill).

Most of the Executioners died in battle, and those few from Cainhurst who rebelled with Logarius suffered a terrible fate - vengeful spirits took them to the grave with them. Breaking through to the queen's chambers, staining his hands with blood, Logarius discovered her immortality, imbued with an aversion to unnatural sorcery. He himself was already beginning to undergo a metamorphosis - something inside him was rapidly changing - his brother's soul was with him now. The anger, the pain, the devastation of Annalise, which formed a symphony with the agony of all the slain, enveloped everything around him. And Logarius already knew that the castle would not let him go - he had absorbed too much.

Logarius gave Bernard one last order - to order the survivors to leave the castle now and never look behind them. Those who disobeyed, looting or doubting, were lost. And as hard as it was for Bernard to leave his master and almost son, orders were orders. Bernard and a few others left the castle, and the bridge collapsed behind them. Logarius put on the crown of illusion and was left to spend eternity among the native winds and snow. Thus ended the siege of Cainhurst.

Going off topic a bit, I've always wondered why the servants in the castle are called servants of Cain? A bit like Mergo's servants, especially since the Japanese version uses the same word for "servant". What if Cain is an Ascended Great One like Rom, someone from ancient times who sent Logarius visions? I've never seriously thought about that theory before, but I don't think it's anything worthwhile, just fun ideas. The soul of his brother and angry kin took possession of Logarius, chaining him to Cainhurst. Logarius assumed the role of king posthumously, still "taking" power, only already over a dead place. Annalise as a child saw Logarius as her chosen one, and Logarius imagined he would be a better ruler than Annalise or Rutger. So their dreams became truth.

The Church, as it always does, wrapped the massacre in a pretty wrapper. The Order of Executioners continued to live on, but lost its mystical beliefs as the spiritual leader was left sitting on the cold roof of his old home. There were many new recruits, including Alfred, and there were only a few True Executioners left, including Bernard, who would return to mercenary service and then fade away, boring Alfred with his tales of Logarius' adventures and all his oddities.

Bernard did not accept the way the Church had dubbed Logarius a "saint" and a "martyr", for him his master was first and foremost a man, but also a naive child, whom he had once taught the wisdom of life, with whom he had drunk together, whose tears and laughter he had seen and hold like a treasure. Bernard shared his blood with him, and afterward truly accepted him as his own son.

The outcome of the Cainhurst massacre was a blow also to Ludwig, who was unaware of what was happening until the last moment (as was the rest of Yharnham). The Cainhurst massacre frightened most Yharnamites - some cheered, some gloated. But those who knew that a vicar was at the very heart of the conflict were shocked (except Willem, I guess. Somehow I think Laurence's ambitions were long known to him)

Also, I might still add that Logarius would not have appreciated Alfred's efforts. Neither the prayers that Logarius can't hear, nor turning Annalise into a bloody mess. I think he put a helmet on her for a reason… We also see no signs of a beating (or at least no signs of Logarius using the Wheel) on the Cainhurst ghosts. So all the murders that took place there can be described as rather ritualistic. Superstitious fear of their own victims and obsession with their ideas. And the violence that Alfred did to the queen was absolutely senseless! After all, the goal was her death, not her torment.

The Logarius/Annalise pairing appeals to me a lot, but they are absolutely doomed by the narrative. She was too young and kind for him to respect her. And it took her going through the pain that Logarius himself brought to her to become a strong and cold queen. Only now she doesn't need him anymore. An absolute tragedy.

I'm also curious still what Annalise's mask is. As I recall, there is no definitive evidence that it was Logarius who put it on the queen? Perhaps her face was mutilated by him and she put the mask on herself? (There is a beautiful ribbon bow on the iron helmet for a reason) Her body does not regenerate, as we realized from the situation with Alfred and the bloody dress, she is only reborn time

Aaaand, my essay is coming to an end, as usual now come the little headcanons:

Logarius' hair has always been a huge concern for him. Such a luxurious mane must really get in the way in battle. And Bernard had suggested several times that he shave his head or at least cut his hair short. But Logarius treated it very reverently, because from his youth he had learned from books all the subtleties of caring for his mane.

Bernard has a photo of Logarius taken in Gehrman's workshop. Gehrman made one for his own little album, in which you can find photos of Laurence, Maria and many others. Bernard asked him to make the second one for him personally. Even though the photo required him to sit still, it captured Logarius's smile as he made a well-timed joke. Bernard kept this photo with him.

Logarius designed the Executioner's armor himself, inspired by the Church's patterns. Also, the silver riveted gloves were his idea, as he was very fond of hand-to-hand combat and considered it the most worthy form of battle.

He always had a passion for the arts, however, he was able to realize it much more during his service to the Church.

His blade, which is a replica of the sword from DS1 and Demon's Souls, I headcanon as a relic of Cainhurst, stolen right during the massacre.

Of all animals, Logarius favored dogs.

The great quote about kindness, as I've written elsewhere, belongs in part to Ludwig. Logarius was very inspired by his kind and compassionate nature and even tried sincerely to follow his example. And the Church attributed the words to Rogerius later.

He has a huge... praising kink. Huehuehuehuehue

From the way he looks in the game, it is unclear which part is his and which part is the King's, as their souls have merged together. However, his amulets are those of Logarius himself, which he wore to strengthen his connection to Divinity.

Logarius' prophecies almost always came true for reasons unknown to anyone <: Whether he was talking about rain or Laurence's future, it all turned out to be true

Trigun hyperfixation has an iron grip on me and I desperately need to get my head to think of something else. Especially cos I crave so much for good stories but to my suprise, a lot of (vashmeryl) fanfics I read are extremely samey, especially the post-anime ones.

That being said, while reading, I was actually suprised to see a few scenarios or themes never explored? So I thought, since I can't get my brain to focus anyways, might as well drop some vashmerly hcs and prompts.

the one I'm most suprised has not been explored at all is Meryl and Milly trying to teach Vash how to actually talk/flirt with women. I still dunno how Vash came to be known as a womamizer in the og anime cos he is abyssmal when it comes to flirting. So, after an especially embarassing rejection, Meryl picks a fight with Vash as usual and he's all like "yeah, then you show me how it's done." Not one to chicken out on a competition (and with avid encouragement by Milly) they set up a fake date. I can totally see it going really funny, Meryl trying her darn hardest to act like an actually interested date but can't help herself from cringing and and scoffing at how stupid Vash' approaches are. So basically, it would be a mix of silly flirting and a lot of bantering. By the end Meryl admits that he's not half bad if he just turns down the goofiness a bit, mentioning if he just ties up the night nicely he might even score a second date (she means in general, not realizing that it sounds like she's implying a date with her). Cue Vash doing the only smooth move in his life and stealing a goodnight kiss, asking "well, did it work?"

less of a prompt or headcanon, but in all the scar-centric fics Ive read, not once is it mentioned how Vash has a literal cage over his heart? Ive always loved this little design aspect, since it so obviously shows Vash fortifying his heart and keeping everyone out. I can also see Meryl being all smug like "well, im small and nimble, and the spaces between the bars are wide, I can easily slip through"

another funny thought about the metal grids on his body would be them cuddling but Meryl's hair gets caught on the metal and now they have to akwardly maneuver out of this situation

Meryl uses any and all situations to be taller than Vash. Since she is so much smaller than him, she usually stands when he sits, especially when they argue, tries to be just a few stairs above him or walks a few more steps up a slop so she can peer down on him. Not that her presence isn't big enough already, but she for sure tries her hardest to assert dominance.

To her dismay, Vash likes to use this moments to pick her up. I dunno why, but since Meryl is so small I can see Vash just enjoying it to pick her up and twirl her around. Lugging her around like a pretty looking sack of potatoes.

Vash is a human pretzel. He will contort his body in ways to hug as much of Meryl as possible.

Meryl becomes incredibly good at ignoring Vash if she needs to work. She could be sitting at her typewriter, only noticing Vash has her in a vice grip when Milly asks if she isn't distracted.

Despite how spiky it looks, Vash' hair is actually pretty soft and fluffy, and once Meryl finds out she uses any opportunity to run her fingers through it. Vash doesn't mind cos he totally digs the head scratches (humanoid typhoon? more like humanoid doggo)

when traveling together, they usually share a thomas cos Vash can't ride for shit. Vash likes to be dramatic and complain about it (cos he's a big boy thank you very much) but he can't deny that he wholly enjoys being cuddled up behind Meryl for hours on end.

Welp, just some food for thought cos my brain is in Trigun overdrive. These are specifically based on the 98 versions of them but I have a whole lot for Stampede as well haha

GENERAL POINT OF THE ASTRALS

The main point of the astral bodies existence is to postpone the end of the universe as long as possible. The way they do this is by fighting the incarnations of antimatter that pop up all over the universe. Each astral is assigned a role, for example: Castor and Pollux scout out worlds to see if they are corrupted by antimatter. If so, Taurus and Leo destroy said planet before it can spread.

FACTS ABOUT some OF THE ASTRALS

Honorable mentions that I think are too small of facts/too obvious to get their own sections:

Since the astral body’s are made out of light (mentioned multiple times throughout the show, but I think the first mention is in ‘EARTH and POLLUX Become BEST FRIENDS?! In VRCHAT’) they can move through walls and most physical structures and surfaces.

It’s been shown that the astral are very bitchy about their schedules/pisces and sagittarius are friends(?), as shown In the episode ‘Castor and Pollux's PLAN for LUNAR?! in VRCHAT’ Castor and Pollux said this: “everyone’s getting angry! I mean- they like things to be punctual! They like things on their own timetable.” “Those two are very awful about it.” (Note: in this scene the twins are complaining about how the other astrals are rushing them on find out if lunar’s a threat or not, and their complaining about Leo and taurus in particular.) *sigh* “Pisces and Sagittarius are likely doing their own thing.”. I looked up what the personalities of Pisces and Sagittarius, and they generally seem like they’d probably be more nice (if google is correct), and I might be jumping to conclusions on this one, but I think that they might be friends, due to the way that castor mentioned them together, and google says that they have a very high friendship potential.

The astral shave their own culture. Mentioned in the current latest episode as of writing this: ‘Gemini SENDS A MESSAGE in VRChat’, Gemini mentions that the stars have their own etiquette, but never really gave any context beyond that since they thought if they told lunar, then it would break his mind, WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNFAIR. BESTIE I DO NOT CARE IF IT MAKES ME INSANE, IN CASE YOU COULDNT TELL FROM ME WRITING THIS ENTIRE ESSY, THE ADDED INFORMATION WILL ONLY MAKE MY HYPERFIXATION STRONGER. *cough cough* so anyways yeah this section is basically just a place holder till we get more info on their culture.

The astrals can for some reason not be seen by colorblind creatures??? Mentioned in the episode ’Lunar Is FRIEND ZONED! in VRChat’, because there was a deer standing near lunar and Gemini said “it must be comfortable in your presence” and when lunar asked why they didn’t care about Gemini, with which they responded with “no we are more or less invisible to them. See?” Then they started to run around the deer. And when asked why by lunar they replied with “most animals on your planet are colorblind. We are light. If light can’t reflect the way it’s meant to, then we kinda just come off as invisible.” WHICH MAKES NO F*CKING SENSE AT ALL!!! Cuz like yes. they wouldn’t be able to see them in their full glory, but if an animal were to look at them they’d at least see a glowing figure towering above them!!! So yea, it was probably just a bit to explain why a deer would be standing so close to them, but it still makes no sense.

The astral body’s can naturally produce star power without creating any anti matter. (Mentioned in the episode ‘Moon is THREATENED by GEMINI?! in VRCHAT’ I think.)

they also apparently have a jail as well. They can also essentially perma ban people from L I F E. Not killing them, when they do this apparently said victim gets sucked into the void and is in constant pain. So that’s fun- (mentioned in the episode ‘Gemini CONFRONTS Lunar again in VRChat’

Whenever the astrals are around antimatter, they start to feel progressively more nauseous. And wherever/whoever is admitting said antimatter, smells incredibly potent to the point where they can taste it. and it apparently smells like: [and I quote] “like if somebody mixed anchovies with rotten eggs”. (Judging from lunar’s reaction to Monty’s antimatter infested arm in the episode ‘Dazzle's NEW JOB in VRChat’.)

And lastly, and probably the most obvious of all, the astral body’s do not need to eat or sleep, since the astral body’s are made of light.

Vent post (wow a 2 in 1!!)

I really want to talk about sfth with my friends, but they don't understand how my hyperfixations work for me. I was talking about sfth with my friend (who is currently being turned into a shark friend) and they thought I was weird because of how much I had admired them, wrote fanfics abt (characters, not rpf) and had photos of them. Like it's hard for me to talk about my interests, I constantly have to hold myself back from going insane and yapping about them so much because they don't understand. Same with my other hyperfixations. I talked about Grian with another one of my friends, and they just thought I was such a weirdo for caring so much about some blocks. It was as if they weren't even listening. It actually hurt me quite a lot. My hyperfixations control my life, I think about them all the time and everything is a reference. The fact that people think I'm weird for that, the people that I care about the most in the world, makes me so upset. I'd rather have no one to talk to about my interests than be told I'm weird again. I don't really like having no one to talk to about something that I am so invested and interested in because I make my own bubble of thoughts that I just keep to myself and wish I had someone to talk to about it.

I actually can't believe I'm going to talk about boy problems. It feels ridiculous, but this next part is about a guy. I don't want to go too deep into details about us but think of all those casual by Chappel Roan tiktoks. He loved me, and I loved him. He just didn't know I was trans. When I had the courage to come out to him, he stopped talking to me completely. We didn't have each other on any socials, so there was no communication. I tried to talk to him, try to start a conversation with him, but he'd always end it and quite literally walk away and act like a stranger. It took him a year to actually just talk to me. It felt nice but hated how I liked it. It brought back all these sweet memories we had and my love for him. I hated it. I still hate it. I hate it right now. It's the new school year/grade, and we have classes together, we are sat near each other in classes, and I really wish we weren't. In spanish/languages class, we sat together (we have a seating plan), and he moved seats away from me. He didn't sit next to a friend. He just moved away from me. I hate to admit that it hurt me. Additionally, he has so many red flags. He's a terrible person, yet I put it to the side because I love him. Saying or even typing the words "I love him" actually makes me feel so guilty. I fucking hate his guts. I hate my guts, too. I don't hate him because he started distancing himself from me. I hate him because he's such a bad person. And I hate myself for loving him anyway. It's been a whole year since the day I fell in love with him, and I wish that day never happened. I wish we just stayed friends. I wish we never sat next to each other in that fucking maths class. His name is poison to me. It burns my skin the second I hear it. It hurts my heart, and it stops besting because I know he's shitty and I know I am too. Everything I find with his name on it, I want to rip it apart. I hate that name because it's his. It's ruined so much for me because I have such a terrible problem with it. I want these feelings to go away before I rip my large intestines out like a party trick. I hate having feelings for him. He's fucking awful. I hate myself so much because I love this man. I hate it. I hate it so much. I hate everything about him that I used to love. I hate his voice, eyes, smile, laugh, hair, humour and just fucking everything. I fucking hate him. I hate myself for loving him. It's something that lives in the back of mind, and it taunts me every time I see him. I wish I never knew him. I wish he was just a classmate. I really fucking wish he was just a classmate. I hate myself.

ho boy. so i'm having more timmy thoughts and you guys have to deal with them. kind of long, rambling post ahead, but bare with me. (i don't know how to include a cut on mobile so sorry)

a couple nights ago i was rambling to my poor family about the traffic smps bc hyperfixation, and i mentioned jimmy always dying first and how he's the canary. my sister, who is not into traffic but is into hermitcraft and sees a lot of traffic stuff, said that the metaphor doesn't work and he would fit better as an albatross.

i argued with her, and while i do still love canary jimmy and think the metaphor fits, i've fallen completely in love with albatross jimmy. yes, i know, another jimmy hybrid i'm going to be pushing on you, but cmon. think about it.

jimmy is not the cursed one, everyone else is. he was killed, now everyone else has to deal with the consequences. he isn't cursed to die first, people are just more likely to die after he's gone.

whoever kills him has horrible nightmares. storms and shipwrecks. dead bodies and slimy, oozing things. they wake up each morning feeling like they're being strangled. they swear they can hear albatrosses flying above them, but when they look there's nothing there.

his teammates, while he's alive, benefit. albatrosses are symbols of good luck, after all. small things, like perfectly cooked food and restful sleep. and it was one of his allies that won third life, wasn't it? and his husband won last life, even if they weren't together. (i haven't watched dl yet, but it was pearl who helped with the horns, right?)

it would have been fitting if the one who killed him in each game ended up winning, but alas, this series is unscripted and therefore (most) narrative parallels and metaphors are coincidental. perhaps an au where whoever kills the albatross is cursed to be the only one who remembers? still thinking on it.

i'm just obsessed with the idea that jimmy's deaths are not warnings of the chaos to come, but the cause of it. that maybe things wouldn't be so bad if they just didn't kill him. they shot the albatross, now they have to deal with the aftermath.
