From any other child, perhaps she'd have been a little curious about what they may mean, but the only thought to rush through her mind at those words, were ones of worry - her gaze drifting behind Yumeno for any signs of smoke. There were few people in this world that she would ever allow to see her in such a state. She was a woman who prided herself with the strength in which she carried herself, someone who had survived through the worst that this world had to throw at you, and who would never allow for it to drag her back into the dregs of the abyss as it almost once had - and yet there she was, on the verge of tears, glaring at the reflection in the mirror that she'd just smashed. She'd managed to cut her hand slightly on the glass too, her gaze drifting to watch as the small droplets fell onto the wood of her dressing table, eyes slowly closing as she heard her husband behind her, resting against his chest with a small sigh. Everyone had their off days, but even she couldn't understand as to why her emotions had been running on high for as long as they had. Well, there was one reason she could think on - but it terrified her to think on as being a possibility.

Kouyou and Hirotsu are each other’s support crutches because out of everyone, they were there with the Old Boss and it sucked for both of them. Yeah they both support Mori but they trust and understand and just like each other in a way Mori doesn’t exactly fit into because he wasn’t there.

You know, as much as I love Wan and as much as I recognise how non-canonical it is, I gotta say....they were so wrong for making Dazai, Yosano, and Kouyou the preschool teachers. All three of them are unhinged and traumatised and two of them canonically. taught children and scarred them horribly.

The only two qualified to even be associated with teacher-hood are Fukuzawa and Hirotsu, you cannot change my mind.

Dazai Osamu

He somewhat planned it all out. The invitation sent to you to watch movies with him at his dorm, right next to yours. The drinks, too. Cheap cans of beer and sake that are lazily passed to you. The futon too that you two are situated on is more neat and tidy than usual with no forgotten crab legs or alcohol stains in sight. It’d be easier to confess if he had liquid courage, right? Dazai didn’t want to fuck it all up.

When he confesses this way, it’s because he can’t think of anything better. Dinner at a restaurant is nice and dandy, sure, but it’s not quite intimate enough. A letter doesn’t express the tone of how serious he is with his love for you. You’ve been with him since his days in the Mafia. You saw him at his worst, and so he wishes to give you the best.

So when you’re both slightly tipsy and giggly at the sights on the TV, he tugged at your clothes and brought you in closer, pretending to shiver and whine about the cold. Unsurprisingly, you had snuggled into him back—such an affectionate drunkard. What Dazai did next was probably purely driven by intoxication and the need to confess. Jokingly (not really), he asked if you could be with him every night to warm him up just like you did already with his heart.

Dazai nearly had a heart attack when you took so long to ultimately respond with a yes. He doesn’t waste time, already carefully maneuvering you on top of him as a pretty body pillow while he sleepily mumbled that he loved his pillow. Loves you. Sure, it was all planned out, but it worked. He’d keep you forever by his side.

Nakahara Chuuya

It’s such a total fucking accident. The whole thing was never intended to happen when Chuuya took you out for a drink after a successful mission. You were his subordinate—albeit a close one of his—and it’d be wrong to act on his feelings for you. Death is a common and accepted daily occurrence of the Port Mafia, and he doesn’t want to accidentally get you hurt or even killed because you were his partner. Even if it hurts, he doesn’t want to confess. For your safety.

Although two glasses of wine later and a guy hitting on you stirs jealousy in his mind, and the fact that you seem uncomfortable increases it by tenfold. He didn’t hesitate to walk over with a thin smile on his face, wrapping an arm around your waist and cooing in your ear that he missed his baby and if you could please dance with him—your fake boyfriend. That’s how he ended up dancing with you to the beat of the music. His eyes were glued to your lips, admiring the shape as he wished they’d cover his body in rouge lipstick.

But Chuuya Nakahara lost everyone he ever cared about. Kouyou was still here, but he doubted the world would let her stay by his side for long. The drunken urge to kiss you was pushed back by the logical side of his mind, screaming out the fact that he’d be a creep if he did that. And he didn’t want you to think he was a sleazy guy. You were his muse from afar, and he wouldn’t dare do anything to hurt you.

So instead the wine in his veins opts to merely drop his head onto your shoulder and hesitantly intertwine his fingers with you. Next? He mumbles in your neck that he loves you. Loves you to the point where he’d kill everyone in the world if they dared to cross you—his heart. All he wanted was your heart, your undying love. But at the end of the day, you’re too good for him. He’s not even human, after all.

Fyodor Dostoevsky

He wasn’t drunk whatsoever and capitalized on your inebriation. Fyodor was a smart man, able to read moves of his opponents and acquaintances alike. This included you, of course. He knew absolutely everything about his little mouse, from your family to your darkest secrets. It was no surprise that he discovered your deep admiration of him as well.

What was supposed to be a meeting between the two of you discussing the DoA’s plans, instead ended up into him gently coaxing you to sip at the wine he had given you. He didn’t drink himself—a man as great as himself would not taint his mind with such a poison—but merely watched as your cheeks flushed with the telltale sign of tipsiness. The scenario would’ve been baffling for any outsider. Two terrorists in a room that both have a crush on each other. How utterly perplexing and unsettling!

Once he was certain you were to be easily manipulated to whatever he wanted, he began asking more personal questions and other matters. Coyly asking if you needed to visit a doctor with how red your face was whenever you two spoke. Or when he began to poke fun at your habit of stammering when he’d appear behind you and give your head that small condescending tap. Poor, poor you who didn’t stand a chance. You were so easy to crack. The seed at the middle of it all was your confession and the way he invited you onto his lap and began stroking your hair like one might do with a beloved pet.

While he’s not entirely sure what love truly is other than the definition, Fyodor felt a deep sense of affection and responsibility for you. Nearly every ruler in history had a beloved at their side to witness the fruits of their goals, so naturally he should as well. It wasn’t like you’d leave either. He’d make sure of it and keep you with him forever until he decided to end it.

Hello fellow yttders!!! Tis i!! The midori connoseuer who drew him once during jeandori takeover.

Under cut is a midori centered (Though The main cast have alot of elaboration on them, too.) yttd bungo stray dogs au me and 3 other people thought on a bit.

I intended to do something bigger with it. But since im working on the midori dating sim. I just cant. So im using this as a sort of hivemind post for anyone to compile ideas for this au!!!

So! Let us start with the *new* ability users and their abilities

Sou 'midori' hiyori:

Ability: "the silence of the lambs"

Affiliation: Armed detective agency. (Early story)

Rats in the house of the dead (later in the story)

This ability, allows anyone with contact to midori to establish a mental connection to, midori. Where they can swap out conciousness, speak telepathically. Or even hear the other persons thoughts and emotions. Midori is the one in control of all of that, though.

Now, as you might have guessed. This *does* have something to do with shin. Specifcally, midori ripped a layed of his skin, sew it into a scarf. Which shin now wears!! Meaning as long as that scarf is on shin. They can swap out conciousnessnesses! Shin is aware of this.

Funfacts: in yttd we see that midori has a very slight hunch. In this au, its due to shins bad posture, blowing his cover whenever he was in midoris body. So after many horribly gone attempts in fixing shins posture, Midori had to compromise.

Midori mostly uses shins conciousness in situations where his "non human way of thinking" would be a hindrance like: when he was passing the ada entrance exam.

Gin ibushi:

The switch is instant. And happens in the blink of an eye.

The name "midori" was given to him by the ada

Ability: "Knuffle kitty"

Affiliation: port mafia

Gins ability, allows any plushie animal, organ, or essentialy 'living tissue' made by gin. To become functional as if it were a living thing. With gins ability, you can easly replace someones organs or limbs as long as theres a surgeon to attach the plushie limbs to the actual host. He can also create poisonous animals to then throw at his enemies. Which is whoever is watching over him most of the time. (Lets face it. Its shin and sou who're getting stuff thrown at them.)

Fun facts: gin was transferred to the port mafia via saras request.

Kyuusaku and gin were buddies before Q witnessed the horrors.

Mori views gin as a sort of "mini yosano" and has a little collection of poisonous insects which gin has made for offensive use.

When dazai first met gin, in chuuyas presence. When gin began speaking in his "woof, meow" s. Dazai pointed at chuuya and said "he talks like you"

Joe tazuna:

Ability: 「トリプルドッグデスバラージ」 (TRIPLE DOG DEATH BARRAGE!) (Sorry i had to)

Affiliation: port mafia

His ability. Is self explanitory.

There are three dogs.

They will death barrage you.

And they regenerate atsushi style.

Funfacts: hes here due to!! Sara!!

He tried to get ryoko (was that her name??? Doner kabab gurl.) Into the port mafia too, but sara said its too dangerous for her.

Sara chidouin:

Ability: "Muses, mad men and prophets."

Affiliation: Port mafia

Her ability is meant for crowd control, and large, quick genocide. Whenever sara kills someone. They manifest as a "hallucination." Of themselves. Which wander around like normal passerbys. She, can swap her location with any of these "hallucinations" . No matter how far.

Hallucinations cannot be contained. And pass through walls. Hallucinations will dissipate after an hour has passed.

Funfacts: she works with kouyou for her training.

She was introduced to the port mafia via her father.

She kicks ass

Reko yabusame:

Ability: "perfect pitch"

Affiliation: port mafia

Juonos hearing. She can detect sound waves. She is all hearing. She detects them snitches.

Funfacts: she came to the port mafia for alice.

She and nao are girlfriends

Tia safalin:

Ability: "Babushka's doll"

Affiliation: none (sort of.) She does freelance work for whatever faction needs her. She has the most expirience working for the special ability division, rats in the house of the dead and the port mafia.

Her ability allows her to create dolls which she can give a portion of her memories to, they will then function as normal people. And can go through with tasks.

Funfacts: i got none

Maple:

YUP!!! MAPLES FINALLY GETTIN SCREEN TIME!!!!

Ability: "The tea party in the woods"

Affiliation: none (because she deserves happiness)

Her ability causes the person shes using her ability on, to expirience a vision in their mind. Which time does not pass in. The vision will display the most comforting envoirment for the person the ability is used on. Maple, can interact with the other person during this vision. And the vision can only be stopped once the host, has drunk a whole cup of tea. This room can be used as a sort of quick therapy room, or somewhere to share confidential information with. Only 3 can enter at a time.

Funfact: she comes to the cafe under the ada very often, and has made great friends with lucy and atsushi. Shes also met midori, but its just a little baby crush.

Now, we get to characters with no ability, and their affiliations.

Alice Yabusame:

Hes part of the port mafia due to reko

Yelling. Alot of it.

Shoved in here by midori so he pays for the attempted murder

Tries his best.

Keiji shinogi:

Affiliation: Armed detective agency.

The wahaha man.

Hes a little like ranpo, in that he has no ability but is very preceptive.

When he joined the ada midori was so panicked he forced shin to interact with him. So now midori has to act like shin whenever keiji is talking to him.

Its not fun.

His arrival at the ada was NOT expected.

He was transferred to the ada from the speacial ability division.

Kanna!!! :

Affiliation: port mafia, because she kicks ass.

She helps out with mais bakery alot since its right below her house.

Shes learned alot from sara. And it shows in her fighting style.

She fights with her FISTS

She likes kyoka alot. Kinda sad shes in the ada, and sneaks to go to the cafe to see kyoka.

During one of these sneaking sessions shin (in midoris body) spotted her. And now shin has to cover for her whenever shes off to see kyoka.

Just. Genuinely a very kind girl

She doesnt deserve to be in the port mafia. And everyone knows that.

She could probably beat chuuya in a fist fight if chuuya didnt use his ability.

Shin tsukimi:

Affiliation: port mafia.

Shoved in here by midori.

Everyone and everything is out to kill him so he has a gun and several knives under his very large coat.

Most of his time is spent yelling at computers because theyre too slow for his liking.

Picks fights with sara over the stupidest little things, which sara wasnt even disagreeing with him on.

The unfortunate person who has to watch over all the children

Koyou scares him.

Higuchi is like the only non intimidating person to him, and exclusively because of how non-decietful she is.

Hatred for dazai osamu

Megumi is a part of the special ability division.

Hayasaka is a member of the port mafia

Main plot points im experimenting with: (midori exclusive)

Midoris motive from joining the ada being finding fyodor due to more information on "god" and assuming they follow the same god for this.

Midori being found out by dazai/ranpo/keiji , because midori is forced to switch into shins body to save shins ass during an ada raid. (Probably during the cannibalism) because midori isnt skilled enough in combat to hide his combat style. And shin cant fight for shit.

Midori getting his ass beat by keiji due to giving him piss hair and trauma.

Midori and fyodor kiss and make out (aka midori magically manifests in the tower during dead apple because his ability would just...be a copy of shin)

When it came to person like Garth though, how could you not be nervous about leaving them alone for too long? Whenever spring rolled around, cherry blossoms, sliced in clean halves, silently fluttered to the ground, some fluttered onto the pond's surface. Even someone like Dazai found beauty in the blooming mafia garden which Kouyou tended to.

With the scent of white tea lingering in the air and the greens colliding with the pinks, one would never think that this little oasis was part of the mafia.

A smooth schwing echoed throughout the space, the sound of Kouyou sheathing her sword back into her makeshift umbrella. "I heard that you've been working together with [Name]," she greeted Dazai.

The two executives sat down at a small, rounded table where tea boiled in fine porcelain cups.

A sigh slipped Dazai's lips. His eyes were drowning in thoughts, a shimmer of uncertainty glimmering in the abyss. "This is exactly why I'm here, Kouyou."

The swordswoman tilted her head to the side and a fine smile graced her pale complexion. "Allow me to take a guess, Dazai," Kouyou mused, took a sip of her tea and then continued, "even the great Demon Prodigy feels something akin to fear, is it not?"

Dazai's face hardened, his jaw was locked. "..."

"Care to tell me what happened?"

And the entire story spilled from Dazai's lips like water from an overflowing sink. How you were shot and remained dead for hours until you suddenly..were not. How you smiled at him and told him that the scent of blood gave your assassin away. How you had deliberately kept information from him.

"Apparently two abilities had been at play. One possessed the ability to erase his presence and physical body. The second one possessed the ability to slow time down to nearly zero. That was how we were kept in the mansion," Dazai explained.

Kouyou took a glance at Dazai from the edge of her porcelain cup. Maybe the tea was still a tad bit too hot. "What is it you wish to know?"

Dazai folded his hands underneath his chin and let his hazel eyes flutter shut. He wasn't asking as an executive, but rather as someone who was curious and terrified alike. "I want to know what you know about her."

Kouyou didn't know any more than the rest of the mafia. During a mission, under her very own command, she was certain you had gotten shot by some lowly men and you had been proclaimed dead for hours on end. That was until you had gotten up and dealt with the matter yourself.

Back then, an ugly shiver had rolled down Kouyou's spine.

Kouyou set her cup down on the table, letting a lone blossom float into her tea. "I fear there isn't much I can share with you. But there was this one time..," she trailed off slowly and locked eyes with Dazai as she told her tale.

"After our mission, she was watching the heartfelt reunion of two lovers. [Name] cried silently. At the time, I was too stunned to ask what was wrong, but now..I guess even the devil is painfully human."

A beat of silence passed and a dumbfounded look settled down in Dazai's face. "..Why do I feel like you're telling me some fairy tale?"

Kouyou smiled, her lone eye twinkled. "You seem to forget that even fairy tales have happy endings."

Chuuya & Subtle Actions - 15 Arc (Anime)

This one is more of an observation

During the anime version of the 15 arc (I say anime version as it does deviate from the light novel) Chuuya's very guarded. He comes off as annoyed, haughty, and angry.

I noticed two subtle actions he made that shows off how much he tries to hide any form of concern or weakness.

As usual, lots of pictures ahead. I like visuals.

The first one most wouldn't noticed and I thought maybe I had been seeing things, but it's clear Chuuya's leg is pretty much incapacitated after Randou injures it. Broken? Sprain?

At this point Chuuya's been using his agility to launch kicks at Randou but with only one good leg he knows that's not an option anymore, thus he's reminded of his humanity and he removes his hands from his jacket. This is now a fight for survival.

When Dazai yells for Chuuya he puts gravity on the busted leg, knowing he cant move it anyway. So he'll become immovable and calls to Dazai to come to him, which he understands. Chuuya wont let Randou's subspace push him back.

There are subtle clues that prove this, such as when he lands originally he goes for his usual right leg but switches just before he touches the ground to put weight on his other leg. He also doesn't move unless with the left leg which he also uses as support. Chuuya's final attack on Randou isn't with a kick, it's a punch. He cant jump and uses gravity on rubble so he can finish things.

The light novel is much more brutal with how much of a beating Chuuya took, but this was at least a nod to the fact that more than likely he still fought with a busted leg.

The other observation is possibly just me over reading into things, but you know what? It ain't hurtin' anyone to post my musings.

The scene where Chuuya is betrayed by Shirase and Sheep is heartbreaking. This group that he thought were like a family immediately turned on him when they assumed he was with Port Mafia. I think they leave it up to the viewer if Chuuya is sweating or he does cry, and I'm leaving it up to interpretation here, but something I did notice was Chuuya's mouth.

There's a couple times I've noticed this, thought it could also just be an art director's choice, but when he's in obvious distress Chuuya's emotions are held back shown as he forces his mouth to stay closed. His lips look as though they are trembling.

This happens when he's fighting Randou. Once it's explained that his gravity wont work as easily you can see he's visibly nervous. Oh, my gravity wont work on him like this. Chuuya's eyes also tend to shrink, but this also happens when he's mad. His eyes are very expressive.

But what made me come back to this moment was a scene in season 3, when Chuuya finds himself in a position that he has to lead members of Port Mafia.

His boss could die, Kouyou, as well as himself, are unsure of their options, and Chuuya puts all this responsibility on his shoulders. He and Kouyou are the only available executives. They both know it's a set up but neither of them are anywhere near as tactical as Mori.

So when Chuuya goes to scope out the situation he's thrown off that the Agency is already going 'full force', something he wasn't anticipating. He's obviously not quite sure what to do, so he decides to go full force as well which ends up being his downfall.

And while this scene happens... his lips mimic the ones we saw earlier, not as noticeable but still there.

I tried to go back and see if this happens with other characters. I went through a few episodes and then lost focus, but I figure this could easily just be an animation choice for showing lips pursed together.
