I often say I don’t dream of working. But sometimes I dream of a quaint but hopping little club. Out front sits a glowing marquee displaying my name like a beacon for all my admirers. For a few select nights, my paramours, fans, friends, and loyal onlookers know exactly where to find me and my illustrious array of talents. Each night, I’d preen on my shrine of a vanity that faces my wardrobe wall of glimmering costume designs. The murmurs of an adoring audience as my favorite tune on replay in the background. I guess I do dream of work sometimes.

Lucille’s costume in Du Barry was a Lady would certainly inspire one of my acts.

I really wish the conversation between Min and Mhen had been in a different setting. Partly because someone waking up from a pacemaker failure on lots of IV drugs wouldn't be that coherent, and also that it undermines the message that Min has done more than enough for Mhen to be his equal and be his own person. He tried to repay his brother, and it ended in a catastrophic health event.

I think it would have needed to be set up way earlier from Mhen to have an impact vs. a hospital bed monologue. We and Jeen and Q and Mhen himself know that Min's doting is overbearing and feels like both guilt and genuine love mixed together. It's a great running theme to explore.

But Mhen is reduced to an Inspirationally Disadvantaged Person that doesn't get to have complicated feelings about his own condition and hearing firsthand how his brother - the rock he has in the world - resented him for most of his life and became who he is because he feels ashamed of past actions. He SHOULD get time alone (or with bbgirl Jeen, who is crushing on him just as hard <3) to process those feelings.

Mhen is 100% the "looks like a cinnamon roll, is a cinnamon roll" and it's because Min has blocked everything that could potentially challenge him. Mhen has turned into a compassionate and kind and cheeky young adult, but Min still sees the little boy he was jealous of handing him the bigger half of the rice ball and cannot let him grow beyond that.

"What? Be lucky I don't do worse you know. But it's fine even so." she snickered.

"Guys, please behave. Sorry about that Peahen mom. But we are happy you invited us." he said.

So, this has almost nothing to do with Cam, hence why he knows basically zero about what he's being told to do. Soren says " do this, " Cam is like " what why, " and gets hit with the divine version of " because I said so, " and that's it. BUT, the rebel Vassals are tied to Libra, who is actually such an icon. She's the former Scion of Eiyr, and her Tournament was incredibly deadly. Normally, there's a handful of survivors, but for once, she was the sole survivor out of approximately 850 people, and it really messed her up. Spite led to her stealing Eiyr's life force as Scions can do, making her the new Eiyr, and she's trying ( in secret ) to get Scions to basically kill their patrons the way she did so she can bring abut a new age of gods and the Tournaments can finally stop. She's an embodiment of life, so of course she would want to put an end to something that takes lives in such a brutal way. Why the Eiyr before her participated at all is beyond her.

Where Cam connects to her plans is that, in name, he's only Khymos' Scion, but he's connected to three. It is possible for him to become the new forms of Irades, Eutheme, and Khymos because his body was specifically designed to house all of those energies, but uh. that's never been done before, and Libra doesn't know if that will actually be beneficial. Even focusing on just Khymos, the main problem, may not work. It wouldn't kill him, but Khymos as a whole is the issue, as they tend to be. They are made up of instability and knowledge that humans shouldn't know. Cam isn't human, but he was raised by them and his mind developed in the ways humans do whether he wants to admit that or not. He can only process things in a human way. The chances of him being able to handle everything that makes up Khymos is very low at this point in time, so Cam is a last resort. Hence, her gathering up other Vassals and even normal followers to get into the heads of other Scions and just not talking to Cam at all.

And, of course, Khymos knows about what she's doing. They could easily put a stop to it, but frankly, it's funny. She's screwing with the competition that they have, ironically, kept consistent for who knows how long. If anything, they're on her side. But they have to pretend to care about what the other gods want, so when word gets out that someone is planning things against them, that's when they send in a few people, Cam included, to subdue those Vassals. They're not killed, but they are " punished " ( aka Khymos personally informs them that They Know, but they'll be allowed to continue as long as they don't speak of the interaction or let themselves get caught again. )

So, no, Cam doesn't like being kept in the dark, but he technically isn't doing a bad thing by rounding these people up. He would just really like to have the choice to do it, because he hasn't had control over his own life or goals in far too long <3
