this is an ijiraq reskin!!!! or well. they were supposed to be one. their out-of-battle behaviors are pretty different but they work mostly the same in battles

the repulsive sigil is there because the ijiraq has it! but it also counts towards loop’s. general attitude towards themself i think. at least they can’t get attacked (if they don’t attack something with sharp quills that is). in kaycee’s mod, this sigil only appears on the ijiraq and starvation (which can only be played by leshy). probably for the best!

i added bifurcated strike both to set them apart from the ijiraq and because scissors craft! stats and sigils wise, they’re a sidegrade to the ijiraq. the fun stuff comes with their hidden trait!

so! shapeshifter!! originally just called. ijiraq. but it works a little different so it gets a different name shshhh. but i’ll just explain how the regular ijiraq works since it’s a kaycee’s mod card and kinda obscure. basically, it diguises itself as other cards in your deck! while on the map, it’ll show the card’s alt version with a red glow, but in battle, it’ll look and behave exactly like the card it’s mimicking. it only reveals itself once placed on the field! so it’s always a surprise! loop works similarly, but they only mimic sif’s card. because twohats :3

like the ijiraq, loop will swap themself with sif for most card events! though there’s a good few that they’ll just refuse to do. too much to talk about there, maybe i’ll post the talking card dialogue for them at some point? idk

oh, speaking of which!! like sif, loop is a talking card! they’ll still talk, even while disguised, but they’d have slightly different lines and portraits methinks. which does make it a little easier to figure out who’s who but that’s a sacrifice (heh) i’m willing to make. plus it’s just fun.

vulpecula is the name of a fox constellation! for fun parallels with siffrin! the constellation itself doesn’t have any mythology behind it though. just a fox. the reason loop’s holding a goose in their mouth(…?) is because the constellation is sometimes depicted with one! please look at the goose i’m really proud of that goose.

this was. probably the hardest card to draw Period. my usual way of drawing loops spiky face would’ve felt out of place with the inscryption style so i had to improvise! and BOY it was a struggle!! especially since i didn’t have a sketch prepared like i did with the others. i think this turned out pretty nice though!

NO PATCH!!!! REJOICE!!! loop can’t be selected for sigil transfers (because ijiraq) so they don’t have any!!!! i mean, i could’ve hypothetically given a patch to the sif disguise but no. i don’t want to even try to recolor the patch. that would be a nightmare. maybe if i ever find a blank png version of the patch.

if i were to give them a patch sigil tho, i think i’d give them hoarder? which lets you draw any card from your deck after placing loop on the field. as like, a nod to how much QoL they add in isat.

also as a little aside, you can attempt to fuse them and the wanderer at the mycologists. they won’t let you but you can try. similarly, they’ll be counted as kin in the trial of kin! because again. twohats

so uh. that poto au i did just over a week ago.

was playing around with some ships to figure out who would fit the roles of the other characters, and landed on airplaneshipping for christine and raoul. preferably ignore all the plot that would have to happen to lead to this point. (the scene where the phantom shoots fireballs, except in the pokémon universe it's a full on battle against the phantom and his chandelure. for an added bonus, look up the name of the 'song' sung during this part of the musical.)

elesa:

christine's dress in this scene is light blue, which is a colour that is indeed present in elesa's design (her bw2 outfit moreso). elesa not wearing any yellow felt wrong though, which is why the layers underneath are yellow-tinted.

went with her bw1 hair colour because christine was blonde in the original book.

her cloak is mostly based off her bw2 jacket in shape; it's black with a red clasp, which makes it not only similar to the cloak donned by christine in the musical but also retains the same idea of the cloak being a visual representation of the phantom's (who wears mostly black) hold over them. (+ the other colour ingo is most associated with is red.)

however, because of the lighting, said cloak appears yellow on the side closer to skyla - more similar to her canon design, and being close to skyla in a way rids her of the darkness.

she gets to change her hairstyle as a treat.

skyla:

it wasn't common for women to wear waistcoats at the time (1900s), but sapphics in history quite famously fucked with a lot of gender norms.

actually both of these lovebirds are blue now. sets up a colour contrast between the lighter, friendlier blues of the couple and the darkness and reds of the phantom. (blue = friend and red = foe like it's fire emblem)

the way swanna is placed is intentional, to set up a more angelic imagery mirroring the phantom's darker version (more on that in a bit).

both women wear matching white roses in their hair. something something flower symbolism. but skyla does also have feathers in her hair, for obvious reasons.

was debating on whether to make him actually more deformed in this au, but didn't really feel in the mood to sit down and design it in detail for this piece.

there isn't much i can say about his outfit design given it's literally just mashing his usual uniform together with his butler alt from masters. though upon actually looking up the phantom's outfit, the end result is actually surprisingly close. not surprising given both wear victorian suits and primarily wear black.

my original concept for the au was that he still works with the subway, he just does it from the shadows instead of being a public figure - hence he still wears a train conductor's hat. though since the battle subway isn't a thing (or at least not in the form we know it) he doesn't have its logo.

his cloak is intentionally flared up in this scene, for a few reasons: 1) it looks cool, 2) it resembles gliscor (albeit it isn't present here) and 3) mirrors skyla with a darker angelic imagery - the original musical had the whole "angel of music / death" thing.

i actually went through quite a few variations of his mask before settling on this one, and even then i'm not entirely satisfied with it.

version 1: exactly the same as the one used in most advertising for the musical - decently terrifying, but considering ingo's main 'issue' is his mouth, which this (and the one actually used within the musical) doesn't cover, this would be completely useless aside from probably hiding his identity and especially his resemblance to emmet.

version 2: leaned more into the angle of trying to alter his expression, particularly to be smiling instead - to be more similar to his brother. also suitably unsettling, but this specific style wouldn't work if you looked at him from any angle besides this one though. also, from this angle, because his actual mouth is obscured, i was worried he would actually be mistaken for emmet instead (given generally fandom tends to make emmet the unhinged one - let ingo have some fun too, guys).

version 3, the one i went with: has patterns at the cheeks simulating the edges of a smile (and also has the black-on-white contrast); his actual mouth is hidden but visible through the cloth.

why is there a litwick on the gravestone? good question!

in all honesty, this was part me drawing blorbos into an au and part me conceptualising what the pokémon universe version of POTO would look like.

these questions are pretty similar so i'll answer both at once.

to buy from a chinese indie brand, you need two things: the brand's taobao link and a proxy site account. taobao is a chinese storefront (?) that most of these stores are hosted on. there are plenty of western stores online that also carry taobao brand clothing - like arcana archive, glitch cupids, and pixie rebels - but i would recommend just getting your stuff from a proxy as those stores often up the prices of the clothes.

note that it can be a bit of a struggle to get the taobao link of a store, especially if you don't have an account (which is notoriously difficult to get these days), but i did find some link lists! (mostly lolita stuff as that's what taobao is most popular for among alt fashionistas ^_^)

some other brands that i recommend -

eyeelike - y2k inspired, though their stock is usually very limited. sizes up to UK 10-12 (L) i believe

so, now that you have the link, you need a proxy site. this is so that you can send the clothes over from china to your own country. in the past, i would've recommended pandabuy, but it died a few months ago due to illegal replica selling. for that, i'd recommend avoiding proxies that allow replicas, because they might go under while you're trying to get clothes shipped. (that happened to me T_T)

now all you do is use the search bar (make sure it's on the "shop" mode rather than "product"), and plug in the link to the shop you want to buy from, and it should be the first result. get all your clothes, and now all you have to do is have them shipped out! shipping usually costs a lot (£20+ from my experience) and if you're buying a haul, it can be over £200 for just 4-6 items, so i'd recommend only buying stuff you KNOW you're going to wear often and enjoy. shipping should only take 2-3 weeks (at least in my experience - i live in the UK, it might take more time in the US.) and boom! now you can dress like those cool girls on xiaohongshu!

there are also two western stores i'd like to go over that have similar clothes - sixth dimension and minga london.

sixth dimension has many good qualities - they have more inclusive sizing (up to UK XL), reasonable prices based on their quality, and they restock and do sales often. i heavily recommend them if you can't afford the high shipping prices or if the sizing is too limited for you!

unfortunately, i have less nice things to say about minga london. they're highly extortionate in terms of pricing - i've seen shein quality cardigans sold for upwards of £70, for example. they do drops often, and have been accused of fast fashion but i'm not sure if that's legit or not. they've also stolen designs in the past. however, they do have inclusive sizing, up to XXXL. i'd recommend only buying from them if they're doing a sale, or if you literally have no other choice.

now regarding fruits mag - unfortunately, you can't buy from them. fruits mag is a japanese magazine that went over a variety of different street styles, so if you want to buy from fruits, you'd have to buy from the brands that the people in the magazines are wearing. as fruits was most popular in the 2000s, most of those brands are defunct...however, i do have some recommendations for japanese alternative brands!

alice and the pirates - popular lolita fashion. pretty good sizing i think, and they do worldwide shipping too iirc.

baby the stars shine bright - same as aatp, but more "cutesy".

acdc rag - yami kawaii type clothes with inclusive sizing.

dearmylove - jirai kei/dark girly clothing and beautiful shoes. inclusive sizing, i'm pretty sure they have a full plus size range! also collabed with needy streamer overdose lol

liz lisa - lolita/mori kei/girly styles and pretty coats. quite expensive tho...

moi-meme-moitie - the brand of malice mizer's guitarist mana-sama! gothic lolita. i'm not sure about sizing or prices.

6%dokidoki - yume kawaii and decora style. very colorful! i'm not sure about sizing.

angel blue - japanese kids clothing, usually worn in general kawaii and jojifuku styles. as it's for kids, the sizing is NOT inclusive at all, UK size S-M at the most from what i've seen. usually you can only find resellers on depop, but the pricing usually isn't horrible.

other than brands, i'd recommend looking for clothes thrifting on and offline (hit big city thrift stores for better chances of alt clothing), buying accessories from verified etsy sellers, and just looking around the house for anything you can turn into an accessory or part of an outfit! i hope this post helps you though!

I am fascinated by the detail here; I particularly like the pose on the Hreakgleav, and the feathers on the Klethghrom. I would direct anyone trying to figure out which is which to the linked post, which contains a key and brief descriptions of each.

@coolest-capybara (link to post here) has also given us a tree full of birds. The explanation in the linked post of which is which and what they were inspired by is illuminating (pun not intended), so check that out. This is the hoopoe. Which, as listeners to the podcast know, you can trade to demons for perpetual access to great parties. The illustration is very cool, and seems to show the young birds rejuvenating their aging parent.

Really love the Stylized Plant, of course. One of the things that really strikes me about medieval manuscript art is how particular things that Definitely Don't Exist keep cropping up in different manuscripts, looking pretty much the same. Like, unless this is by the same artist who did the Rutland Psalter, it shows an interestingly consistent artistic tradition -- I swear that's the exact same plant, and in a couple other places in the manuscript they have the exact same wyvern.

Anyway, those are clearly magpies. I don't know why they're being shot at.

It tickles me that these are right next to each other, because there's a moderately-well-known Middle English poem called "the Owl and the Nightingale". This is pure coincidence; they're not together in the bestiary, there are a few birds in between.

Hey there! I really love your poses and aesthetic posts, and have been wanting to try my own hand at it for a while now.

What would be your tips/resources for someone dipping their toes into the more custom side of gposing? I've done a bit of vanilla stuff, and do use some light appearance mods, but things like shaders, posing, and custom camera positions still elude me.

This is a tough one because, in my opinion, a lot of tips I can give is mostly just "practice practice practice" as I didn't get remotely close to where I am now overnight. I've been gposing and working with mods + crimes for YEARS.

Like this is how I started vs how I do now:

There is (according to the timestamp of this photo, which is not my earliest, but the earliest I could find) a nearly 5 year difference. I can promise you, I did NOT get this overnight. It was a lot of trial and error, a lot of finding my own style, a lot of experimenting, etc.

Some tips and advice from personal experience:

First and foremost, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE: I was not kidding when I say it is all about just practicing and doing what YOU think would look good. Don't let others tell you what looks good or what doesn't unless you specifically ask for constructive criticism. At the end of the day, it's your gpose, your work, so long as you're happy with it? No one else's opinion matters.

Do not be afraid to experiment with new styles or even new OCs: Sometimes just having one OC to gpose can make things feel stale and boring, but we feel compelled to stay with JUST ONE for a myriad of reasons (which is fine!) and it makes people afraid to branch out a little. So if you want to experiment? Do it! Want to dress your OC how they wouldn't normally dress? Do it! Want to experiment with an alt that is vastly different from your main? Do it! You never know until you try.

Do not be afraid to use pre-made poses: Maybe this was just a twitter thing, but there were a few times I saw people shaming others for using "premade poses" instead of doing it themselves. Don't listen to these people, they're the WORST kinds of people, I promise you, they have nothing good to say (unless you're kissing their ass). A lot of creators, especially people who make poses frequently, make poses for them to be USED. They are a resource, free for people to use, take advantage of it.

Gpose for YOU, not for others: This is easier said than done, I know, but the biggest thing is you have to gpose only if you want to/if you're in the mood to, not to try and garner for social clout. At the end of the day, this is a hobby, we need to remember that.

Lift others up as you'd want others to lift you up: Now this is something I really need to remember to do myself; it's easy to get lost in the sea of praise when someone compliments you, or if a lot of people compliment your efforts. Remember to give the same love you get; just noticing someone's work can be a strong motivator, and let's be real, a single kind word about someone's work can really make their day. You never know.

Numbers don't matter at the end of the day: At the end of the day, we're all a bunch of nerds playing a game and playing dress up with our imaginary friends/digital dolls. Its easy to get swept up in the popularity contest that is social media, but that can go away at a moment's notice. So don't place your value as a gposer/creator in the numbers. Take pride in knowing you put your best efforts into something.

Now I don't have a lot of "special" tools I use that aren't available elsewhere, but here are some things such as filters, plugins, etc, that I use to make my gposing a lot easier.

Elvashades (Gshade/Reshade Filters): I pretty much EXCLUSIVELY use Elva's shaders and have for the better part of 6-7 months. Their filters are incredibly easy to customize, come in a variety of styles, and they actually show how their filters work on multiple skintones. Even better: their filters are gshade AND reshade compatible! So no matter which you use, they'll work just fine.

Elegy (Shaders): Now a lot of folks know who Elegy is; they're the creator of the Rue body and make a lot of more fantasy/victorian-style outfits (I love their work), but they also have a few shader sets that I personally enjoy for softer shots.

Leggerless (Poses): Lately I've been obsessed with Leggerless' poses, as they're quite versatile, and they have TONS of different themes that fit whatever I need. I also have the easiest time adjusting them, which is a huge plus in the checkbox.

Elio (Gpose Stage Props): ELIO is a creator (or creators*) that make detailed gpose stage props. They literally have WHOLE SCENE SETUPS on on a single minion that are perfect for something niche, or if you just want something simple. (Personally I use their studio photoshoot prop as a backdrop for my mod previews!)

At the current moment, this is all I can provide, but I encourage anyone with advice, tips, resources, etc, to add onto it. I'm always open to trying to help folks, whether it's just giving my own advice on gposing, or just providing resources.

With "Jayce house color is blue" and "Mjlo wears green" let me introduce you to "house of Silco"

So, Jayvik have to wear mostly piltover colors because academy but they change when they go to zaun/ Viktor's siblings bully them a little. Jayce start to wear more and more his house colors becasue he feels disenchanted with Piltover and Viktor starts to wear his colors as they get closer/he steals his clothes.

Jayce asks about his family's color and they end up getting Silco clothes with his colors Red & Green.

In the end, years and years later, his house would be known as The house of Silco.

(A little bit inspired by my last name because it was originally just a name turned into a last name)

There's a part of it as well where Viktor just looks Jayce up and down before they go to visit his family in Zaun and tells him to change because Viktor doesn't plan on being mugged while they're down there and right now Jayce screams "attack me I have money!"

The thing is I don't think there really set colors associated with the family. I mean Vander wears a lot of white and blue while Silco goes for the reds and blacks. Mylo likes greens and brows in the canon alt universe but so does Ekko. And Claggor white, blue and brown. Which is partially because Arcane is actually pretty bad at consistently associating characters with specific colors other than Jinx and Mel. But I do also think there is an element of while Silco (and Vander but Silco is more the driver in this area) is raising the status of his family and trying to put Zaun on equal footing to Piltover he doesn't want to one-to-one match Piltover so purposely will do things The Zaun Way whenever he can.

The thing that actually is more the calling card of Zaun style is the asymmetry of the cuts/accessories. It'd be kind of funny and sweet if there's a tailoring accident with one of Jayce's pieces and he tells them not to bother fixing it because he kind of likes it (and it's a way to wear a piece of his Viktor's culture).

It does feel unfair for Silco's name to be the one for the House when Vander is just as much involved in their work to raise the quality of life in Zaun he's just less dealing with the Piltover council. I kind of like the idea of them ending up as House Zaun (place names can also become surnames) because of how Silco is Zaun Representative (or Representative of Zaun) in Piltover and with no other surname in place those who don't want to use his first name because of their social conventions end up just calling him Representative Zaun. He never intended for it to become his family name (everyone in Zaun deserves its legacy not just him and his) but also he can't really control it and also it's kind of nice to have Piltites having to use the name for his home and not just "the Undercity".

for the director's cut meme: I am very fond of Cooling Off, and interested in the "thank you for protecting me"/"not shooting you is an obvious tactical benefit", because the one doesn't quite follow from the other and I've wondered what your reading of that is...

Cooling Off, the fic in question, and the relevant excerpt:

"By the way... thank you for protecting me during that battle. I appreciate it." [...Prime, not shooting you is just an obvious tactical benefit,] Megatron said. [And since when did you need anyone to protect you? I think you hit your reality processor on the way down here.] Optimus' chuckle was low and quiet, resonating slightly through the barrel and grip of Megatron's alt-mode. "I would shoot you any time you let me. I enjoy the feeling of a well-crafted gun in my hands."

Ah, this one was written almost 2 years ago, so it's super not fresh in my mind. But this bit is easy enough for me to explain! The intention was to show some subtle megop banter: as in, they aren't lovers in this scene, and they can't even really be friendly because the (mostly irrelevant) background of this is a temporary faction truce. But nevertheless, I wanted to have some banter in which the pair of them betray their fondness for each other. Also, Megatron is really tsundere about his side of the affection, obviously.

In this part, Optimus is trying to distract Megatron from transforming out of gun mode (bc he wants to keep holding him) and opts to show gratitude towards Megatron. Basically, trying to distract Megatron with soft, friendly feelings.

But Megatron, being tsundere and unable to acknowledge for pride/political reasons that he likes being around Optimus too, deliberately sidesteps Optimus' gratitude by essentially expressing "Don't thank me, I would be shooting you right now if it weren't for the fact that keeping you alive helps us fight our common enemy." He's essentially rejecting Optimus' attempt to connect as people via compassion and gratitude and responding by saying their relationship is pragmatic, nothing more. Which is also followed up in a subsequent line:

[You're a good shot, Prime,] Megatron eventually replied. [Why don't we keep it at that until we get out of here? And stop fondling me, you're embarrassing yourself touching a gun like that.]

Again, Megatron is deflecting Optimus' soft and affectionate emotions by putting on a veneer of pragmatism, a "we only work well together because we have to" style of deflection and denial. But this time he returns Optimus' emotion a little by giving him a compliment about his shooting-- a useful, pragmatic skill, not one about OP as a person. So Megatron is returning OP's warmth a little, but being sure to do it in a way that maintains the plausible deniability: he is, of course, only working with Optimus because it's a tactical advantage, and he of course only likes being held in gun mode because Optimus is a good shot. But he also leaves a little bit of mystery by saying "Why don't we keep it at that until we get out of here," as if implying he's interested in reciprocating OP's affections in a more optimal location.

TLDR: Megatron is being coy.

Remember that ask I answered a little bit ago about how Megatron and Optimus are the kind of people that have invisible conversations underneath the surface of every seemingly superficial/everyday discussion? This is a prime example of that.

Rewatched Bumblebee movie so Alert: random thoughts of sleep deprived person go--

Bumblebee has hella powerful legs. Not only when he uses them in fight, but also when he jumps.

I just love how Bumblebee uses his legs in combat, like hell yeah dude! They may catchin' those hands but they ain't catchin' those legs (they actually did couple of times but shhhh).

Fight sequences are muah. Love them, the best ones in Transformers movies I think. I'm not sure but I also think they were storyboarded/planned by animator so if it's truth it does explain things lol.

Bumblebee is smaller and weaker than the Decepticons he has come to fight, and he doesn't just use their weight or size against them, but all the time seems to be looking for an advantage in his surroundings. This is likely not very unique to him, but it clearly stands out when his opponents the moment they realized their advantage wanted to simply overpower Bee.

Also love how everyone is trying to use their alt-mode during combat.

They could have done more with the fact that G1 Bumblebee was said to like swimming, and Charlie was swimmer in the past (specifically was in school's dive team if I remember correctly). Like some kind of bonding scene? Whatever, it was just such an opportunity. (And I know we had this seconds-post-end-battle scene but it is not what I'm talking about at all if it makes sense???)

Shatter often folds her hands behind her back in a gesture that I personally associate with a business woman (also in base scene she and military man both hold hands that way when talking so yeah). I feel that this reinforces her image as the leader/representative of the duo when Dropkick maintains a looser posture. Just cool body language.

I didn't pay attention to this in the movie, but I was reminded of how someone noticed the Autobot symbol on Shockwave's arm. If that's true, they could make it cool to pull it up under Senator Shockwave's MTMTE-style backstory, or maybe some variation of the spy (before he was known as a Decepticon, especially a high-level one) in TFA style. As far as I know the entire thing was because of recycling model parts but still.

I don't like Bumblebee's camaro root-mode. Idk, he was all round and huggable almost the entire movie, even when he had jeep as alt-mode, and then he is all blocky :((. Maybe it's because even as jeep he still has his chest mostly flat and as camaro it moves so much forward. His Cybertronian root-mode also has chest moved forward a bit but it's a lot more aerodynamic (you know what I mean) so he still looks round. Like, he is huggable all the time and then his camaro-boob looks like it would cut you. Idk how to say it, hope you get what I'm trying to communicate anyway :')

I really like how Decepticons were casually showing off that they are Triplechangers. I understand why they were doing this from storytelling point of view but it's still funny from in-universe one. ("Look how cool and badass we are.") I'm probably turning it up but oh well.

Also this will be a bit off but I never liked the idea of hammer as Bumblebee's weapon. Like his thing almost always was being small, kinda fast and not very strong and boom. They give him one of the weapons that is most effective welded by someone big, strong who doesn't loose much fighting weapon that kinda slows them down a bit (I think hammer does but you can correct me lol) because damn, this thing is big, at least in his serwos.

Plus, still on the hammer's topic, actual war hammers had this spike on the one end of the head so you could actually pierce armor of your opponent or just your opponent but not this one. This one is just for smashing like your mom's meat mallet. Ok, I'm done with this saltyness lol

But really, hammer as weapon doesn't fit Bee at all. Or it's just me.

hey , saw this and genuinely wanted to address it as my intentions are genuinely not to copy anyone , let alone cause harm . summary is all the way down under the cut ( last paragraph )

first of all , i'm sorry to hear that reki isn't doing well . i hope hy'll get better soon , but i couldn't have known he wasn't in a well mental state because i don't want to and can't interact with hys blog . i've been blocked quite a while ago , just after the first post i made on this blog . what happened will stay private as requested , but ive apologised and as far as i know , we made up . hy doesn't want to interact with me and i respect his boundaries .

talking of boundaries , i did not know hy was uncomfortable with people getting inspired by his art style . it is true that i took inspiration from hym , but to be fair all i took inspiration from was the shape of fur . my colour theory was fully taught to me by ashenoranges , round shapes have been inspired by another artist who does not want to be named , the way i draw hands along with cartoon-ish ( and also the round shapes ) by an artist on tiktok whose name i forgot ( but did a lot of utau / fell art , something along the lines of pupbiteez ) and the eyes i've just always drawn that way because i adapted it from when i just started getting into animation memes , but i tend to add tearducts too ( which i've adapted from p0ny.world ) . also , i love the chalky way calciumdreams's and yokoneko's art looks which i'm trying to work on getting into my art . i also mentioned some other artists in a previous ask about my artstyle , those artists also provide me references for when i'm trying to draw animals that stand on all fours .

asked one of my friends if they had any art of reki saved , for comparison . i guess i can see the similarities ?

the thing is that i use several outlines and lots of rendering on top of it and use a shade between green and orange always - when reki uses one line-art layer , has highlights instead of shadows in the hair , usually a blue shade and overall has thinner line-art where parts between similar parts of clothing and / or fur gets coloured differently in line-art .

i'm not saying my and reki's styles do not look extremely similar or that he never said anything about not liking inspiration , but i did not copy ( or at least INTEND to copy ) hym , neither did i ( key word , i ) ever read he was uncomfortable with inspiration . if you would like to provide proof then i'd love to have you dm it to me /gen

my intro post had taken me quite a few months to come up with , going through a few things to get inspiration from . however , i can see why you think i copied him , especially with how i provided my links . asked a friend of mine to provide a screenshot of reki's blog to compare them after you sent this ask . to clarify - i actually got inspo for my graphic and the stars between links from a friend of mine , who used to make simple transparent background graphics and used the 𓈒 symbol in between links instead . since i'm a pretty big fan of stars , i used stars instead . went through tags to find introduction posts that i could take inspo from , which mostly used different colours , and since i usually use orange or green shades in my art ( since they're my favourite colours ) i thought i'd apply that to highlight parts i thought were important . just talked a bit about me , connected a link to my identity in case you want to get to know me better , provided a link to my toy house in case you wanted to see my characters , then talked a bit about asks because i barely really got any before . it looked a bit empty at that point , so i thought i'd largen up something , but doing that at the top of the post seemed like it went from big to small and i didn't like that . moved the links to the bottom , largened them up and that seemed pretty good . but now it was a bit empty on top of the page , so after messing around with the graphic i realised that maybe i should add something that would devide the graphic from the text - a divider . now everything looked tidy , while not being too little nor too much . a link to stuff that went more into detail ,, perfect right ? but ;

i can totally see why you think they look familiar : same colours , same link stuff , separate part about the inbox , divider between texts and images , but i don't have access to reki's blog so i wouldn't have known . even if i did before , i wouldn't have remembered that in the past 2 months where i was much more busy with other stuff than remembering what someone else's , who didn't want to interact with me , intropost looked like .

HOWEVER ! i do acknowledge that my EMOTE art looks incredibly - extremely , almost completely identical to hys . hand shapes , eye shapes , body shapes , even the yellow body and line-art , the SHADING - all of that . i guess that comes with having similar artstyles , then also worrying about whether or not your art looks ok . i actually asked a friend of mine what i could change about my art so other people would maybe like or use it more , and they said that i only ever use harsh - thick lines , so i should keep the line-art simple and try airbrushing stuff . this is basically what reki did , and so i did use one of hys emotes from a server i'm in as a reference - i really liked the result , and posted it not thinking about how familiar they looked despite literally having his emotes and mine side by side for comparison .

they're extremely similar , especially the little closed eyes and blush . they both have that little red eyelid bit above their eyes and shaded cheeks + hands . i admit this is my fault for not having realised earlier how i basically copied hys style , and i'll try to make it more into my own style next time . i'm unsure of how to yet , but i'll figure something out .

also , besides all that , i'm not really copying his appearances , sonas , other stuff hy might have made . the yellow guy is pretty popular after all since it doesn't have an actual appearance or anything that would relate to identity and can be interpreted as anyone . sure , there's blogs like k9emotes who make white sillies instead of yellow , but i prefer using yellow and i'm also going to use these emotes . not saying i won't change how i'll draw them , this is just a reason , but that's why my and hys emotes look so similar — they're exactly what i and my friends would like emotes to look like if we're going to use them frequently .

all of this is not an excuse but simply an explanation so i hope everything is more clear . as stupid as it may sound , the intro post was truly a coincidence . my art looks similar to hys ( but not that much ) because he was an inspiration , but not my only inspiration and definitely not my biggest but the hair / fur is something i do use the most . i deeply apologise for any harm i have done and crossing unknown boundaries , but i'm afraid i can't directly apologise to reki as he doesn't want to interact with me , boundaries are boundaries .

So, your answer regarding Tomoe's retconed relationship with Gabriel got me musing on how to weave her into the story more without retcons and amusingly I found a way that both connects to an Alt Hero's Day idea I had and creates a whole new timeline. This one uses my Only Twelve Kwami rules, so bear with me:

It is the familiar Heroes' day event, but the host and speaker is, unsurprising to the people of Paris but surprising to the audience. Andre. Its he who is dismissive of Volpina, endorsed by his wife who makes a snide comparison between the vixen and another 'failed' buzz, or she means, burnt out hero.

Elsewhere we see some reactions, from Chloe huffing and promising to prove her wrong, to Kagami sneaking away from her tutors to take Adrien up on that Hero Day picnic invitation and an irate Tomoe looking around the house for her daughter, muttering, "Not today, of all days."

Having seen the remarks, Lila is Akumatized and Andre ensures the recording airs "The people need to know!" before trying to call for calm as Paris begins tp panic, Audrey is seemingly Akumatized out of nowhere and runs off, while Andre goes to his "Command Center" to manage the disaster, sending Jean off to Pick up Chloe as an afterthought.

These events cause some minor changes.

Adrien sneaking out to meet Kagami means he is away from his bodyguard and can safely transform. Because of this he and Ladybug are travelling to Fu's together as she figures this emergency warrants it. Kagami upon seeing Chloe unaffected by the Butterflies and trying to get people to cool it also manages to stop herself. They start grudgingly collaborating along with Alya & Nino to keep things calm, but while initially succeeding Kim & Jean fuck that up and puts the pairs on the run.

Because Chat & Ladybug are talking they don't notice Vanisher until nearly at Fu's. There seem to be no Akuma, though there is a strange sparkly glitter in the air.

Fu is letting them take the Miraculous & while Ladybug wants only those they know how to use Chat thinks the more the merrier.

But before they can get passed Fu explaining the dragon "I know just the person" Chat insists, followed by Kaalki's boatsful introduction, they are attacked by Style Queen. She seems strangely in control compared to the other Crimson Akuma, and Kaalki is forced to open a portal so they can escape but is captured along with the Miracle Box, though not Sass who Fu had been contemplating replacing Wayss with.

The heroes escape, but several Kwmi & the box are lost.

They divide, with Chat going after Chloe & his secret friend, and Ladybug for Nino & Alya. Chloe is told to change her appearance and name if she wants to keep Pollen with her long term, which she does.

Heroes Day is mostly similar, though Tomoe's Akuma is leading the Crimson Army and is quite strategic. The average Crimson Akuma however is not that bright as they are too overwhelmed with rage and are too many minds for Gabriel to puppet. Still, its more tense and relies on Fu advising with Second Chance for the time it can be used.

The battle with Hawk Moth is also more of a group attempt at face stomping. His defeat however is not capped off with a Sentimonster but a portal swallowing him whole after he's stung.

Thus Hawk Moth escapes and the heroes muse on the danger now that he has several new Miraculous & can even use one. Fu is even more worried because they may have grabbed his notes on the Miraculous Spell book as well. Suffice to say he needs somewhere to stay and to basically retire after that experience. Though he will continue to advise. Kagami may offer her place, or Chloe sets something up.

Later, it ends with the reveal Gabriel's friends & allies are in on it.

Andre used Kaalki to evacuate him and both he & Audrey made their comments and sent Jean away to try and help Akumatize Lila & Chloe. Audrey's Style Queen form was so calm because she transformed willingly.

Nathalie has been strained deeply by being Catalyst, though its not permanent. There's a general air of mixed vexation and relief, as they flick through the notes debating on the pros and cons of key Kwami.

Tomoe is also present but the odd one out, making it clear she is here for her side of the bargain and not to commiserate. Gabriel grudgingly seperates Mullo the Mouse and assigns her as Tomoe's Kwami. Tomoe spares a glance at Audrey who waves her off, insisting when it can be done it will be done.

Tomoe leaves and they turn back to the captured Miracle Box and decide that evidently the Tiger will belong to Nathalie. Though the former archeologist suggests maybe she & Audrey could trade, but is jokingly rebuffed as she reveals her own Miraculous.

So yeah, all the temp heroes + Kagami are now permanent, and they are looking for a Snake wielder. There's probably an episode spent stealing back the Spell book so Fu can continue his work. & once the Peackock is repaired a new status quo is reached.

One that sees Nathalie on the front lines alongside Akuma and eventually Sentimonsters. With Andre using his portals to help evacuate them, move Akuma & Sentimonsters around and make a profit on the side. Meanwhile Tomoe is utilizing some none Kwami magic relics/relic and the Mouse Miraculous to make herself a private army of herself. She's tangentially on their side but not really.

Sorry this is running so long, but I'll try to be quick:

The gist of this AU is that Audrey's family had an interest in magical lore & relics. They weren't like super magic users, it was more scholarly. So while she didn't inherit this interest, she was still taught a log (Hence recognizing the temple) and had a collection of magic trinkets (Such as the bracelets Chloe had in season 1)

Nathalie an aspiring magic archeological scholar always wanted to see and study her possessions but could never get permission. Not until she found out about Gabriel and Emilie's issues with conception. She 'revealed' one of Audrey's artifacts, in fact her favorite could maybe be used to help.

IE, the broken Peacock Miraculous, that on a surface level just seems to change colors at the owners whim but also because its damages is subtly leaking its empathy magic. Meaning the wearer knows what others are feeling, which hilariously makes Audrey an even worse person.

Nathalie got it working, Adrien was made, and she got access to Audrey's magical artifact collection. But later, when Emilie began to grow sick, she realized how dangerous the Miraculous usage was.

This is why Nathalie is so dedicated, not only did she kind of become friends with Gabriel and Emilie. But she feels personally responsible for killing Emilie & wants to either bring her back, or rewrite history so it never happened.

Hence fighting on the front lines and Audrey having the Peacock.

Where does Tomoe fit in all this? Easy.

Morally, Tomoe's introduced as Gabriel if he had never had Emilie. IE, an control freak who isolated their kid and on them. But also shown to be less terrible than Gabriel became, IE, she's more reasonable about adjusting her behaviors as necessity dictates. Worse than he ever was, but better then what he became, but still not good.

Lore wise, even before Season 4/5, Tomoe was shown to be extremely wealthy, in Gabriel's circle of affluence and very invested in technology. Meaning she was the founder, or CEO or majority shareholder of an experimental robotics company.

One that Gabriel commissioned in secret for a human sized experimental cry-chamber.

Tomoe found this just fucky enough to investigate and determined he was Hawk Moth. But was convinced to let it slide in exchange for access to magical items, and especially Miraculous.

Also they both get to live.

Because if she reveals Gabriel he takes her down with him. If he kills her, there are contingency plans to reveal his identity.

Thus, she is new to the circle and not really invested in the Emilie situation or aware of the extent of the wish. She would like to claim the Miraculous for her own, admittedly more mundane ends. But she is mostly focused on securing a strong position no matter what happens in the future.

But yeah, that's how I figure things would go.

First of all, Red' don't keep any pictures of her past - to Buggy's big despair. So the poor little clown don't have any weapon to fight back! However I can easily imagine that one day the big top will anchor on an island where the crew will randomly meet someone from Reddie's past. Buggy will jump on them and ask them a TON of questions.

As you spotted, Rory has a soft for steampunk aesthetic - big fan of Jules Vernes (yes I HC that a version of Jules Vernes exist in one piece), dreaming about flying machines, obsessed by the idea to go on Skypiea because that's a land you can't reach by the sea. He's also the one of the triplets who cares the most about being ~ classy ~ . A real little dandy! He probably got through some victorian goth phase when he was like 14. When he get the outfit you can see on the ref, everyone in the family and the crew was like "o_o guys is Rory wearing COLORS?!!"

Skye is the one of the triplets who embrace the most the clowncore vibe, probably crafting herself some outfits in her father's old clothes. By the years she finally went ok with her nose, however she still feels the need to compensate with the rest of her outfit, copying her father's crossbones makeup for exemple. She will change her look when she will reach early adulthood (19-20 years old), and yes there is a meaning behind the undercut she got! you can speculate but I won't confirm or deny anything ehe 🤡

When it comes to clothing, Blaze only has two criteria : comfort and color. His hyperactive ass always run, jump, climb anywhere soooo he quickly learned to chose robust clothing that is easy to evolve with. But bright colors! Bright colors always catch his eyes! He's like a magpie! He also kept his beanie hat while growing up, and attempted to wear it with pigtails like his daddy do with his captain hat. He lose one teeth after a bait with Rory, too. Thinking this would make him look more like Buggy, but this dumbass did it the wrong side. His bracelets are very important too, but you'll understand why later! Also, I like your idea of him trying anything (and tasting eyeshadows which. Let's be honest. He did. At 16 years old. And after too.), especially some goth things. I think Blaze is mostly aroace, but if one day he should have a " planotic lovestory" this would be with someone who has a black cat energy, and he probably won't realize he's in a relationship.
