And technically that's what they did many times, Rhaenyra and Laena used to fly together and spent a lot of time gossiping, chatting and being darlings

I love HOTD so much and any complaints I personally have will never overruled that, but the one thing I could never forgive is the replacement of Laena with Alicent, nastiest woman ever drew breath.

O termo utilizado pelas manchetes jornalísticas chama atenção. "Sequestro Manicomial". Muito se encontra em pesquisas na internet sobre o sequestro em hospitais e casas de cuidados psiquiatricos, o tema, que é muito sensível para falar de forma natural, é trazido pela narração de Stella através de falas expressivas sobre seu testemunho em viver em um hospital psquiatrico.

Stella, diferente do esperado das expressões de pacientes de hospitais psiquiatricos, conseguia se expressar através do seu falatório, que pouco registrado, gerou reflexões sobre a sua forte capacidade de poetisa. E essa diferença é explicada por um simples fator: Stella não era um sujeito psiquiatrizado, ela passou a ser.

" Filha de Manoel do Patrocínio e Zilda Francisca do Patrocínio, Stella trabalhava como doméstica na juventude. Aos 21 anos, morava em Botafogo e, em agosto de 1962, quando pretendia tomar um ônibus para chegar à Central do Brasil, foi parada por uma viatura de polícia, na Rua Voluntários da Pátria. Segundo ela, a polícia a levou ao pronto socorro mais próximo, perto da praia de Botafogo. Dali, foi encaminhada ao Centro Psiquiátrico Pedro II, localizado no Engenho de Dentro, dando entrada na instituição em 15 de agosto. Desse modo, passou a ser involuntariamente um "sujeito psiquiatrizado", recebendo o diagnóstico de esquizofrenia.

No dia 3 de março de 1966, foi transferida para a Colônia Juliano Moreira, em Jacarepaguá (a mesma instituição onde Arthur Bispo do Rosário foi internado). Stella passou a ser paciente do núcleo feminino Teixeira Brandão, local onde permaneceu até o dia de sua morte."

Ser vítima do sequestro manicomial, levada por uma autoridade compulsivamente, fez com que Stella se tornasse menos humana. Agora era como mais uma em meio a multidão dos pacientes do hospital, mesmo que sem querer e sem motivos, Stella passou a receber tratamentos cruéis, as quais a mesma expõe em seus falatórios.

Mas acima de tudo, Stella foi poeta. Stella foi forte. Stella foi sobrevivente através da arte. Concluo através das reflexões em sala de aula e do texto de Viviane Mosé, como também lendo as histórias e poemas de Stella, que a arte foi o seu refúgio, sua forma de sobreviver mais um dia. A reflexão que podemos fazer, é que a arte mora em todos os períodos e situações.

While Nanna Blondell is amazing, Arsema Thomas is closer in age to Laena's adult age in canon, and her age difference with Savannah Steyn is not that big either so it's more believable as it's supposed to be only a 4 year gap.

Sincerely, the show would have saved itself from so many plot holes if they had adhered to the book, Laena is older than Rhaenyra.

Laena's birth as a girl was what made people choose Baelon (Rhaenyra's grandfather) over Rhaenys, and she was later passed over by Laenor as heir; also Savannah is older than Milly the almost exact amount of years Laena is older than Rhaenyra.

Arsema is as beautiful and graceful as I imagine Laena and is as playful and lovely as the most beautiful woman both sides of the Narrow Sea.

Also, I myself edited the hair and I think the producers are lazy because they could have edited it, or apply some dye spray, or simply hire black hair stylists.

To me, this is the correct order:

They should have begun the show with the First Great Council between Rhaenys and her uncle Baelon, showing Laena's birth and how many dismissed both Rhaenys and Laena's claims; in the Second Great Council they dismissed Rhaenys, Laena and Laenor's claims, with Rhaenys' own supporters preferring Laenor over Laena, and to emphasize how the misogyny in Westeros is so deep that they wanted a king from the male line rather than a king from the female line. (It will be important to remember this in the future.)

Nova Foueillis-Mosé can still appear as the twelve year old Laena who claimed Vhagar and was a bride option for Viserys, then Savannah Steyn as the teenager Laena who befriends Rhaenyra in a genuine way and is considered one of the greatest beauties in the realm and how she is gaining the knowledge of how to manage a Household and has also developed a thirst for adventure; then Arsema Thomas would take over and show us how loved and appreciated Laena is to everyone who knows her.

Oggi vi voglio parlare di uno dei grandi affreschi che decorano il secondo registro della Cappella Sistina. Fu realizzato per volere di papa Sisto IV da Luca Signorelli e Bartolomeo della Gatta nel 1482 e ha come soggetto gli Ultimi atti della vita di Mosé. I PARADOSSI DI VENERE

Un paio di giorni fa, a Napoli, qualcuno ha dato fuoco ad una delle opere d’arte contemporanea più celebri al mondo, la “Venere degli stracci” di Michelangelo Pistoletto. Il primo paradosso, il più evidente, è che per molti, soprattutto per molti di quelli che si indignano, la Venere ha cominciato ad esistere nel momento della sua fine. Non la conoscevano, ma appena si è sparsa la notizia della sua distruzione è cominciata l’indignazione. Il secondo paradosso è che la maggior parte di quelli che si indignano, darebbe fuoco a tutta l’arte contemporanea (e forse anche agli artisti). Poi c’è un terzo paradosso: la Venere è stata bruciata a Napoli, che come diceva Benedetto Croce è un paradiso abitato da demoni, città paradossale per eccellenza, che vorrebbe diventare una capitale dell’arte contempera e per molti versi lo è, ma dove qualcuno distrugge una delle opere più rappresentative. “La Venere degli stracci” è bruciata per mano di qualche balordo, ma, ultimo paradosso, è proprio un gesto così che la pone sul piano di tanti altri capolavori dell’arte che nei secoli sono stati deturpati da pazzi o balordi, come László Tóth, il geologo ungherese che nel 1972 deturpò la Pietà michelangiolesca di San Pietro o come il David colpito da Pietro Cannata nel 1991. Qualche volta furono gli artisti stessi ad infierire sulle opere, per restare a Michelangelo, fu lui stesso a dare la famosa martellata sul ginocchio del Mosé ora in San Pietro in Vincoli a Roma. Addirittura Filippo Tommaso Marinetti nel suo “Manifesto del Futurismo” affermava di voler dar fuoco ai musei. Quindi, per ora, accontentiamoci di aver visto andare a fuoco la “Venere degli stracci” di Pistoletto. Venere, dea della bellezza, e gli stracci della nostra contemporaneità, erano un magnifico connubio poetico, ma il piromane, chiunque esso sia, consegna direttamente l’opera all’eternità.

I want to make, like, a proper post about this later because there are heaps of fictional characters I'd love to try my hand at making out of american girl dolls and the like but the three I really want to try and make are:

Alanna of Trebond, later known as Alanna the Lioness, is ten years old at the start of Alanna: the First Adventure, the first book in her quartet, set in the fantasy land of Tortall. She wants to be a knight and doesn't want to be a lady while her twin brother Thom doesn't want to be a knight. The pair conspire to swap places and thus begins Alanna's journey to knighthood. Alanna (and Thom) has red hair (frequently called copper) and purple eyes (sometimes described as violet). She's short and stocky.

I've compiled a mini gallery of some of the book covers of Alanna: the First Adventure as possible sources of inspiration. The copy I grew up with is in the middle top row so I have a soft spot for it but in terms of which comes closest imo to the text description and what I envision in my head, I would probably draw from bottom left and middle.

My difficulty is in working out which doll to become Alanna as there are no purple-eyed dolls and no dolls with the right hair shade, much less cut, so it's a more of a matter of working out what face shape I like best followed by acquiring the right wig and eyeballs.

Suggestions are very welcome!

The second one is Laena Velaryon, mostly inspired by the adorable actress playing the child version of her in House of the Dragon. (However, I'm kind of debating whether to keep her purple eyes from Fire and Blood.) I love the A Song of Ice and Fire series and haven't gotten around to watching more than a little bit of HotD but this actress is so endearing in her scenes, I'd love to make a doll of the character. I tentatively thought maybe Truly Me #112 (pictured next to Nova Foueillis-Mosé as Laena) could work but I'm really unsure. Open to opinions!

And the third one is Sabriel from the Abhorsen series. This is a series that one of my dear friends introduced me to in the past five years, which I adore but I also know I would have loooved if I’d read it when I was the target age. Sabriel lives in the Old Kingdom, a fantasy land on one side of a wall across which is the mundane land of Ancelstierre.

The Abhorsens are a lineage in the Old Kingdom who use special magical bells to control the dead and return the necromanced dead to the realm of Death.

When the first book (also called Sabriel) opens, Sabriel is at school in Ancelstierre and learns her father, the Abhorsen, is trapped in Death and she must go rescue him.

Sabriel has dark brown eyes and black hair worn in a bob. Unlike Alanna and Laena, Sabriel is not around the usual American Girl character age. I think she's 17/18 at the start but I still wanna make her.

I really like Just Like You #40 but I think Kit's haircut is the more accurate bob. As always, open to thoughts!
