hotd fandom AND production team does not deserve the black actors (specifically the black women) in the cast at all bruh . making characters black just to absolutely butcher their plots isn’t inclusive btw!! they absolutely butchered laena and rhaenyras storyline, completely erase nettles and DONT even get me started on those fuckass wigs they keep putting on bethany and phoebe omg. and the way the fandom treats them and their characters?? like second or third thoughts?? black actors and characters on this show deserve more

I am now onto Laena, who was given criminally little screen time. While I don’t dislike this dress, it’s not my favourite, there’s nothing wrong with it, just not my style. With the hair, more specifically the snood, I was inspired by Persephone in act 2 of the current west end production of hades town, which I recently saw and it is my favourite musical to ever exist. While in general I love a good snood anyway, when drawing Laena I was specifically thinking of Persephone. Anyway, I love Laena, all 3 actresses did brilliantly, she should have had more screen time, here’s a dress.

i know this has been said already but nothing makes my blood boil like the fact that savannah steyn who played teenage laena would’ve been a perfect casting choice for adult laena. laena was only 26 when she died. she’s supposed to be three years younger than rhaenyra and alicent, both of whom — as we’re reminded time and time again — were children being groomed by adult men. but we’re casting adult actresses to play laena so i guess she’s mature enough and not a victim of grooming too?

CASTING ADULT LAENA.

I'm of the firm belief that seeing as youngest Laena was already visibly that much younger than Rhaenyra and Alicent that Savannah did not need to be recast ten years later. I think a bit of makeup and common sense of how ten years works would've justified her as adult Laena, who we are introduced to as the youngest of all the girls.

That being said, I think if they had to recast, Nanna was wonderful in portraying her strength and struggles at that time of her death. Given her limited story and short scenes, she truly did excellent.

With this in mind, seeing as they felt the need to recast, I went looking for a more age appropriate actress for that time in Laena's life as Nanna does look older than the 24 - to 26 year old Laena is suppose to be at this point.

Ladies and Gentle folk,

Georgia Campbell is 31 now and she's already an established actress. I think that if we had to recast Laena in this way she would be a great alternative.

If nothing, she has the doe like eyes all the Laena's had.

Also Laura Harrier, but we knew that.
