i have some thoughts, particularly regarding morgan olliges and her not taking covid seriously, even after her grandfather died after getting it

however i want to be clear that while it may seem that i agree with her - i don't - but i can understand her

prior to her grandfather's death, she didn't take covid seriously, she didn't see it as anything more than a minor nuisance, or a hoax or whatever conspiracy theory she was(is) hooked on. i understand why that didn't change with her grandfather's passing.

this is very personal and im a little tipsy and very emotional which is why i am oversharing right now. but last month, my own grandfather died less than a week after having a positive covid result. so his death is officially classed as a covid death. however, this doesn't take into account that he was already dying. my grandad caught covid while he was in hospital already. he had lung cancer and pneumonia and he had already been in hospital for a month by the time he got covid. they had stopped treating both the lung cancer and the pneumonia, because the treatment wasn't working. he was ready to pass on, and he knew that his end was coming. we had to sign the do not resuscitate order on christmas day.

anyway, my point is that whilst yes, technically my own grandad did die with covid, had he not gotten covid, he would have passed very soon anyway.

the difference between myself and morgan is that i was already taking covid seriously (masks/social distancing/no meeting other households etc) whereas she wasn't.

i can see why having her grandfather pass with covid, especially since he had "underlying conditions" wouldn't change her mind
