Does she know that this meal looks kinda bizarre or is she genuinely not aware and thinks it looks tasty?
ok we're going to play a game: guess what the hell Jill Rodrigues is making for dinner based only off the ingredients she shows on her IG story:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok it looks like we have:
1. Some kind of pasta salad with potato chunks?? and possibly turkey or chicken?
2. Red onion
3. Chopped up lunch meat, looks like maybe chicken and ham?
4. Italian sausage
5. Tomato
6. Shredded mozzarella, eggs, and milk, which are mixed with the chopped tomato and poured over the other stuff
7. Cheddar cheese slices
Honestly the pasta mixture is what really threw me off, wtf is that??? Otherwise it'd be a pretty standard breakfast casserole (maybe)

Okay this is real specific and nobody else may get it but that's fine
The vibes music video remind me of a prank my husband and his coworkers would play in each other
He worked at a 1920s music venue, as a techie doing various backstage tasks, and he and his colleagues would often find themselves in the odd, tucked away bits of the venue that not many people would ever be in (e.g. under the stage, up in the roof, in the old projection room)
And at some point, one of them had made a loop of Bing Crosby singing "You better watch out" from Santa Claus is Coming to Town, over and over, but increasing in speed/volume and gradually getting lower and lower in pitch i.e. getting more and more unsettling
They used to love playing that for each other, especially when somebody was in a particularly creepy/cold/small space
Anyway, having seen the old projector room and having heard the loop track, it's the exact same kind of energy as this music video gives off
The Rodrigues Ladies just dropped their first single and music video and I’m not brave enough to watch it with the volume on
I forgot all about that lmao. I just watched like 30 seconds and I think that's all I can do at a time without secondhand embarrassment breaks. The filters, the poses, the lip synching, the prominence of Jill's' voice over the others.......it's s just as bad as you'd assume it is. It looks like something they show in a documentary about cult survivors to show how crazy and brainwashed that used to be.
Here's the video for anyone else who wants to be Blessed by the Rodrigues girls in their matching temu outfits:

Photos from Inside the FLDS - a photo-essay for Rolling Stone by Trent Nelson
FLDS asks always send me back down the rabbit-hole a bit, and this time around I found these pictures from a 2016 Rolling Stone piece on the FLDS of Hildale, UT.

Derek Dillard dressing as trash is the best costume ever.
It really captures his essence tbh. It's actually really ironic that so many ultra conservatives dressed up as trash 😂

There's no way at least one of those kids doesn't have some type of undiagnosed learning disability/neurodivergency
It might not even be "a secret". It might not have been picked up on. Things like dyscalculia, dyslexia, ADHD, ASD I wouldn't count on them to notice
the friend who made that cute ofrenda is one of the few people who i can yap about fundie shit with, but she wasn't familiar with the Bates. so I gave her a rundown and her first question was honestly something I've thought about before lol:

The fact that she literally threw up at the altar on their wedding day AND HE DIDNT EVEN GO AND SEE IF SHE WAS OKAY
AND THEN THEY POSTED THE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE
Okay folks give me all your best (worst) Morgan and Paul moments / controversies.
They’re so insufferable and I want to create a list.

So, as far as I can tell, the embryo has implanted onto her cesarean section scar.
So it not a fallopian tube ectopic pregnancy (which is the type that @spurgie-cousin is probably thinking of). It also doesn't seem to have implanted *into* the scar, as that would have likely lead to a uterine rupture by this point in her pregnancy.
It's still a high - risk pregnancy for sure though, and it's quite scary. She has also mentioned that she lives about 30 minutes from the hospital.
huge trigger warnings:
Tumblr media
Now I don't follow this family very closely at all, I only know of them because of fundie snark communities but holy shit...........
This is just so sad and horrifying. Ectopic pregnancies are not viable 100% of the time, and they are the leading cause of death for women in the first trimester.
I don't know these people enough to know of this is something they'd lie about, but genuinely I hope they are, otherwise this mother might as well be taking her own life and choosing to leave her remaining kids motherless. I will just never, never understand this mindset.

Recently I was at a friend's house, with a group of people and somehow the conversation got onto our Google timelines/step counts.
We were all going through our timeliness and my friend (also chronically ill) came upon one where her step count was about 80 for the day. I immediately said "to the bathroom and back to bed?" and she said "YES!" and we had a little laugh about it.
But the rest of the room (maybe 5 - 8 other people) were just bewildered. Nobody seemed to believe that you could genuinely have a step count that low for the day. I really think that able-bodied people have no idea what a typical day looks like for somebody chronically ill.
If you've ever told a person who's had to be bedbound for a period of time that you wish you could "just stay in bed", DO IT.
Stay in bed. For days. But don't get up if someone needs you to, or you get bored, or you get antsy. Don't do anything other than rest. Just lie in your bed, whether you need to get stuff done around the house or socialize or anything else "productive". You'll have to cancel on people, you'll disappoint them, they won't understand.
And if you're thinking, "well, i CAN'T just be in bed. There's stuff that has to be done - I have plans", maybe ask yourself why you assumed a disabled person doesn't have plans or things to do or desires.

I would expect that, as far as "headship" stuff goes, she has found a set of surrogate parents at her church who'll fulfill this role for her.
I see your tag of how in Brianne’s mind she doesn’t have to respect him since she’s a believer and he’s not, and it doesn’t matter if her parents don’t approve because she’ll marry Sam anyway, but do you think she’d still have her parents pay for a big chunk of the wedding since fundie circles are heavy on the traditional way of doing things? “You’re unsaved and going to hell but you still need to pay for my wedding” type of deal? Would Jill and David chip in if her parents didn’t?
Also I guess in that same line of wondering, if Brianne doesn’t consider her father her headship until marriage, who would be her headship? Nathan (and Nurie) through church? Would she default to Jill and David? No headship, answering only to god in her mind?
Any of my commentary on these people and their potential beliefs is all critical speculation / assumption. I have no intimate experience or knowledge of this branch of Christianity so I welcome anyone who does to chime in.
I think what is being asked in the top part is if Brianne would accept financial help from her parents - as she obviously has no power over what they do with their finances. She can pout and yell and demand all she wants but at the end of the day it’s not her decision.
So do I think that Brianne would accept the money? Absolutely. Anyone who respects Jill would have zero issues taking financial support from (almost) any source. I’m not sure if Brianne still lives at home and/or is financially dependent on her parents but if she is then I would use that to support that she has no issues using their resources.
Another thing of note for Rodrigi weddings is that they are done on a budget and resourcefully (which is fine). They’re not shelling out for restaurant catering and an entertainment hall for hundreds of people. It is actually very simple (and dependent on volunteer work). So in regard to Jill and David chipping in - yes but probably more so in the form of having saved old decor that can be reused and recruiting friends to help.
For your second question I’m really not sure. My initial thought was that she just answers directly to God but I’m not sure that would acceptable for a woman. She’s been very vocal about coming from an unsaved family so she possibly has several people she can go to for guidance and confirmation from these communities and/or can use the head or seniors in her church to fulfill a version of this role.

Apparently it was before they were actually engaged
She joined instagram/twitter as jessa seewald on/by 26th May 2014 and they got engaged on 14th August that year
Soooo, very weird, but also not unprecedented
Can we get a refresh on who in the Duggar family is now currently unmarried? All my brain is coming up with is Josie and Jordyn(?) solely because they’re the two youngest but I don’t actually remember how old they are
Tumblr media
1. James (23), Jackson (20), Johannah (18), Jennifer (17), Jordyn-Grace (15), Josie (14), and Tyler (16) are unmarried/not in relationships.
2.
Tumblr media
Yea she did, and it looks like she recently made this account, so either she didn't (or wasn't allowed to) have a public social media account until she got engaged, or she deleted the old one and started over. Jason hadn't tagged her in any previous posts, so I'm thinking it's the former.
It's definitely not normal for most people lol, but I guess for fundie young women it's pretty common that they aren't allowed a lot of independence as far as their choices go until they're married. If you can even call it independence, since the husband still has to sign off on any choices she makes for herself, like what she wears or what social media she has. I'm guessing she's tying her IG account to her future identity as a Duggar for that reason.
