Just a Stone Monkey and his mortal lover
🔞🔞🔞 NSFW under cut you have been warned 🔞🔞🔞
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Old Sun at some point figured out that his mortal companion was attracted to his Stone Monkey form, and confronted her about it (he thinks it's interesting and funny)
and ofc Oz denied it with every inch of her life (she thinks the Monkey King already has a big enough ego)
Cue later on Sun Wukong decides to tease her by transforming into the Stone Monkey and play a game of cat and mouse through the Mount Huaguo forest.
And after he caught her, he is gonna throw her on his shoulder, walk away somewhere private and then she's dinner.

Ariadne, the Minotaur, and Phaedra—probably didn’t have the best sibling relationship, all things considered.

I had the pleasure to be a part of 13 Days Advent - Monsters and Myths; a bestiary-themed advent calendar and zine to celebrate this year's upcoming Halloween!
The monster I depicted was Humbaba, one of the first monsters to haunt human history.
Preorders are open! Check it out!

Yandere Naga
The jungle was not a place for the careless. You had learned that much during your travels, but no lesson had ever been as harsh as this one. Caught in a hunter’s snare, your ankle throbbed where the rope had tightened. The more you struggled, the more the vines around you creaked, suspending you just out of reach of the forest floor.
Then came the rustling.
Your breath hitched as the undergrowth parted, revealing a massive form slithering towards you. Gleaming emerald scales caught the dappled sunlight, shifting hypnotically with each smooth movement. The figure loomed taller, rising until golden eyes peered at you with an unsettling mixture of curiosity and possession.
“You poor thing,” the naga cooed, his voice a gentle hiss. “Trapped, helpless… and so far from home.”
You shuddered, heart pounding. “Please, I— I didn’t mean to trespass.”
The naga’s long tail coiled beneath you, a living pillar that held him aloft. His humanoid torso was lean and strong, arms folded as he observed you. Then, with a single motion, his tail lashed out, severing the rope with practiced ease.
You yelped as you fell—only to land against smooth, warm scales.
“There,” he murmured, wrapping you in his coils with slow, deliberate care. “Safe.”
Panic clawed at your throat as you struggled, but the naga’s grip was firm, unyielding. Not crushing, not painful—but absolute.
“You shouldn’t be wandering alone,” he chided, his voice laced with something almost fond. “The jungle is dangerous. Hunters, beasts, sickness… You would not last long.”
“I can take care of myself,” you insisted, trying to push against his coils. A foolish attempt—his tail only curled tighter.
A deep chuckle vibrated through him. “Oh, little one. So fragile, so stubborn.” He brushed a clawed finger against your cheek, tilting your chin up so you could see the quiet intensity in his eyes. “But I will take care of you now.”
The words sent a chill down your spine. “I need to go home.”
His expression darkened, lips curving in a fanged smile. “No, no… That place was never truly home, was it? So cold, so lonely.” His coils shifted, the pressure more like an embrace. “But here, in my care, you will always be warm. Always protected.”
You opened your mouth to argue, but the words died in your throat as he rested his chin atop your head, humming softly.
“Hush,” he whispered. “There is no need to fear. You are mine now.”
The jungle had never felt more dangerous. And yet, for all your terror, the steady, rhythmic pressure of his coils around you felt… safe.
Time had passed—how long, you weren’t certain. The naga never let you out of his sight, his coils always near, always ready to pull you back should you stray too far. He provided food, shelter, warmth—everything you needed. Yet, the golden eyes that watched you carried an intensity that never wavered.
“Are you comfortable?” he asked one evening, his tail curling gently around your form as he rested beside you.
You hesitated. “I… I don’t belong here.”
His tail flexed, just slightly. “But you do.”
The jungle sounds filled the silence between you, the chirps of insects, the rustling leaves. You felt his warmth, his unwavering presence, and for a moment, you allowed yourself to lean into it.
“You’ll understand in time,” he murmured, his voice like the whispering wind. “This is where you were meant to be.”
And though your heart longed for escape, a small part of you feared… he might be right.

Odysseus: demanding Athena take off whatever enchantment she put on him the second the situation ends.
Odysseus: who constantly reminds Athena that he has great plans to grow old and die with his wife so don't even think about getting any ideas.
Odysseus: side eye diomedes who has started fucking glowing he has so many enchantments on him: bro you should talk to Athena about getting those removed. You're going to end up immortal or some shit
Diomedes: who has been a solider since he was 5 who has intersting thoughts about his own personhood who has a much more traditional relationship with Athena and would rather literally stab his own eye out with a rusted sword than speak out of turn: I don't know what you're talking about
#odysseus#Diomedes#Athena#This is more pulling from my own headcanons than any source material#But I have a lot of feelings about the narritive physically changing a character and how well that works with the idea that#Becoming immortal is a slow process more of a slide than an abrupt change#And I have a lot of feelings about diomedes becoming immortal and how odysseus only ever wanted to be a man#And how diomedes was having a much more mortal experience and odysseus experiencing so much magic and monsters and gods#And how every step of the way diomedes only ever politely thanks Athena never argues only does his duty#And how nearly everything odysseus met tried to change him or keep him and how he fought against that with his whole being#Also a lot of feelings about the traditional reward for heros was immortality#This obviously does not include all the times Athena treated odysseus like a barbie doll because ody was 98% not aware of that#Athena post the whole ajax going insane thing: that was fun#Odysseus: great yah super fucking fun love when my allies go mad with desires to torture me to death BTW#Take off the invisibility spell I want nobody trace of it lingering on me I am remaining mortal if it kills me#Athena: definitely not pouting you're no fun one little spell isn't going to permanently alter you#Odysseus: I am not taking any chances any invisibility I have is going to be my own fucking skill and your excellent training not magic#Diomedes: internally:after getting the ability to see through illusions and see gods#Should I mention this to Pallas Athena? Did she mean for me to keep it? Is it bad if I keep using it?#Is it even more disrespectful to not use it? Surely she is aware that I still have this? Surely it would be an insult to her intelligence#To remind her that would be casting doubt on her memory and perhaps it is part of a plan and#Who am I to question pallas athenas plans who am I but her devout weapon better to not mention it or any of the other lingering magics#Diomedes realizing a hundred years after the fact that he is in fact immortal: ....should I mention this?#Athena finds it funny to try to sneak magic onto odysseus it's a game for them because their both rat bastards#But not post odyssey it's just triggering then#Actual child solider diomedes#Greek myths

Published in 1928 'The Hodag: and other tales of the logging camp' documents American folklore in and around Wisconsin where the titular beast calls home. The Hodag is a fearsome beast with horns and spines, believed to be a product of the ashes of a cremated Oxen that had suffered at the hands of its owners. Carnivorous in nature it is said to have a particular taste for white bulldogs. Rhinelander in Wisconsin has The Hodag as a mascot and statues as well as a store can be found dedicated to this unique cryptid.
