True and False Monkey King
I feel bad for these women. Their sole purpose is to die so Wukong can come to some epiphany. Or is it Wukong? 🤷 The plot is all the demons want Sanzang’s staff because if he takes it to X place all the demons are reborn and if a demon takes it to X place they take over? Also we have Six Ears pretending to be Wukong. The movie makes you question which one is which because when you think you know the answer, you’re wrong. Or are you? Wukong may not be monkey man, but he looks more so than the others. Bajie is only a pig man for like a scene and why did the villagers give the Buddhist monks meat? Pig meat to boot. 🐷 why was the big baddy a giant version of Gorro?
It’s an entertaining enough movie on IQIYI.
Tumblr media
We need more Sanzang hiding behind Wukong.
I have to give the writers props. The woman talks about Six Ears lovingly and Wukong immediately says ‘like the relationship between my master and me’ they really did just slip that line comparing their relationship to the Het ship you’re rooting for.
I will say this. The ending pissed me off. I can’t believe it ended like that. They set it up perfectly and then don’t give you the ending you expected.
I’ll leave you with this cute dog thing I want.

Is Six Ears an Aspect of Sun Wukong?
I've seen some people claim that Six Ears is not an aspect of Sun Wukong's mind. They either ignore the references to "one mind" and "two Minds" (and the Buddhist philosophy behind them), or they just say it's allegory and nothing more. Well, there are actually internal story details from chapter 58 that support the close connection between the Monkey King and his doppelganger.
1) The Bodhisattva Guanyin and her “eyes of wisdom” (huiyan, 慧眼) can’t tell them apart:
The various deities and the Bodhisattva stared at the two for a long time, but none could tell them apart (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 106). 眾諸天與菩薩都看良久,莫想能認。 [And later:] Pressing his palms together, our Buddha said, “Guanyin, the Honored One, can you tell which is the true Pilgrim and which is the false one?” “They came to your disciple’s humble region the other day,” replied the Bodhisattva, “but I truly could not distinguish between them …” (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 114). 我佛合掌道:「觀音尊者,你看那兩個行者,誰是真假?」菩薩道:「前日在弟子荒境,委不能辨 …
2) The tight-fillet spell works on both Monkeys:
Asking Moksa and Goodly Wealth [a.k.a. Red Boy] to approach her, the Bodhisattva whispered to them this instruction: “Each of you take hold of one of them firmly, and let me start reciting in secret the Tight-Fillet Spell. The one whose head hurts is the real monkey; the one who has no pain is specious.” Indeed, the two disciples took hold of the two Pilgrims as the Bodhisattva recited in silence the magic words. At once the two of them gripped their heads and rolled on the ground, both screaming, “Don’t recite! Don’t recite!” The Bodhisattva stopped her recital … (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 106).
(If someone disagrees with this one, they need to show where it says Six Ears is faking the pain.)
3) Both the Jade Emperor and the imp-reflecting mirror can’t tell them apart:
Issuing a decree at once to summon Devariija Li, the Pagoda-Bearer, the Jade Emperor commanded: “Let us look at those two fellows through the imp-reflecting mirror, so that the false may perish and the true endure.” The devaraja took out the mirror immediately and asked the Jade Emperor to watch with the various celestial deities. What appeared in the mirror were two reflections of Sun Wukong: there was not the slightest difference between their golden fillets, their clothing, and even their hair. Since the Jade Emperor found it impossible to distinguish them, he ordered them chased out of the hall (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, pp. 107-108).
4) Only omniscient beings like Investigative Hearing (Ksitigargbha's mount) and the Buddha can tell the two apart:
[T]he Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha said, “Wait a moment! Wait a moment! Let me ask Investigative Hearing to listen for you.” That Investigative Hearing, you see, happens to be a beast that usually lies beneath the desk of Ksitigarbha. When he crouches on the ground, he can in an instant perceive the true and the false, the virtuous and the wicked among all short-haired creatures, scaly creatures, hairy creatures, winged creatures, and crawling creatures, and among all the celestial immortals, the earthly immortals, the divine immortals, the human immortals, and the spirit immortals resident in all the cave Heavens and blessed lands in the various shrines, rivers, and mountains of the Four Great Continents. In obedience, therefore, to the command of Ksitigarbha, the beast prostrated himself in the courtyard of the Hall of Darkness, and in a little while, he raised his head to say to his master, “I have the name of the fiend …” (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 112) … [...] Smiling, Tathagata said, “Though all of you [Guanyin] possess vast dharma power and are able to observe the events of the whole universe, you cannot know all the things therein, nor do you have the knowledge of all the species” (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 114). 如來笑道:「汝等法力廣大,只能普閱周天之事,不能遍識周天之物,亦不能廣會周天之種類也。」 […] [After the Buddha explains the ten categories of life and the four types of celestial primates (see the introduction here), he says:] As I see the matter, that specious Wukong must be a six-eared macaque … (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 3, p. 115). 我觀假悟空乃六耳獼猴也 …
In short, the twin monkeys are so hard to tell apart simply because they are representations of the true and illusionary minds (refer back to the article) within the same person.
So what does this say about Shadowpeach? I know LMK is a separate entity from the novel, but applying canon to this ship would make it more self-love, right? I'm sure those with creatively perverted minds know what I'm taking about.

Journey to the West Chapter 42
Bull Demon King (Sun Wukong) warning Redboy about Sun Wukong:
Tumblr media
And you stole his Master. And Pigsy to I guess.
This week on Journey to the West with @journeythroughjourneytothewest we continue our adventures with the fiery Redboy. So let's get into it shall we?
We start back up with where we left off, with Monkey eavesdropping on Redboy telling his minions to go invite the Venerable Great King to dinner. So Monkey hedges his bets and takes a gamble that he must be talking about his father, the Bull Demon King. And luckily for Monkey he knows what the guy looks like since they were buddy's 500 years ago. I guess Monkey is counting on the Bull Demon King not getting a new haircut in the last 500 years. Anyways Monkey skedaddles from the cave and plops himself ten miles up the path before transforming himself into the Bull Demon King.
Sure enough, as soon as the minion demons spot the 'Bull Demon King', they invite him to dinner and leads him back to the cave. Redboy is like 'Well that was quick', but quickly goes to respectfully greet his father. Anyways Redboy excitedly tells him all about the tasty monk he has acquired for them to eat. The 'Bull Demon King' asks if this monk happens to be the master of one Sun Wukong- scourge of heaven itself. Redboy confirms it, and 'Bull Demon King' recommends he just send the monk back, because Sun Wukong is far to dangerous to mess with, and if they eat the Monk he will definitely flatten this whole mountain.
Redboy however isn't worried, after all he's managed to chase him off with his True Fire of Samadhi twice now. The false Bull Demon King warns him that Sun Wukong is very tricky and transform to look like anything- like say- something as tiny as a fly- or even something as large as say- a Bull Demon King. Redboy however just scoffs and says that he would definitely be able to see through Sun Wukong's transformations! Anyways seeing that scare tactics aren't going to work on Redboy, Wukong switches to stall tactics. He says that while he would love nothing more then to have some tasty monk meat he unfortunately can't today. He's trying this new diet where he goes vegetarian once a week, and today is the that day, but he'll totally be up to it tomorrow.
Redboy however finds this suspicious since the Bull Demon King is always down for chowing on humans. So Redboy asks his minions where they found this Bull Demon King, and they say they found him on the way, not at his actual house. Redboy is fairly certain that they've been deceived, but can't be to hasty just in case it really is his father, so he resolves to question him first. So Redboy tells his minions to be ready to jump the fake king when he gives the signal, and he goes to question him. So Redboy asks him to tell him the exact time and date of his birth. Sun Wukong sweats nervously at the question because how the hell is he supposed to know that? However he gives what I consider to be a perfectly adequate dad response in: "I don't know, I'll ask your mother." Apparently unlike most fathers though, the Bull Demon King actually does know the answer, and apparently never shuts up about it. So Redboy gives the signal for his minion demons to attack. Sun Wukong of course reverts to his original form and blocks the attack before pulling off his vanishing in a flash of light trick. But not before mocking Redson for being a bad son and attacking his own father though of course.
Anyways Monkey is jazzed from his victory over Redboy and wastes no time in going to brag to Sandy about it. And while he hasn't rescued Tripitaka yet, he's feeling well enough about his victory to go fetch Guanyin himself now. So Monkey quick travels to Guanyin's place and has her secretaries announce his arrival. So Guanyin gets right to the point and asks what he's doing here, and Wukong also wastes no time in summarizing the current arc for her. Guanyin listens to the story calmly until he gets to the part where Redboy disguises himself as her in order to fool Pigsy, where in she throws her vase into the water in an apparent fit of rage. Which Monkey thinks is a shame and that she should have just given him the fancy vase instead of smashing it.
Turns out however, that the vase isn't smashed, since it quickly reappears on the back of a tortoise. Guanyin asks him to bring it to her, but it turns out he can't lift it. Monkey tries to defend himself saying he's wounded at the moment, but Guanyin just explains that the vase is currently filled with and oceans worth of water, and even Wukong isn't that strong. Unlike an unlicensed thunderstorm the water in the vase does have the power to put out the true fire of Samadhi, but unfortunately he can't pick it up to take it with him. And since Guanyin doesn't trust him to not try and hoodwink any of her attendants to steal the vase, she asks him to leave behind one of his belongings as insurance. Personally I find this slightly unfair since Guanyin is one of like three people Sun Wukong actually respects and is therefore unlikely to steal from her. It's a moot point anyways though since Sun Wukong doesn't really have anything of value that he can give her that he doesn't need. Of course he is more then willing to give her the gold fillet, if she wants to recite the loose fillet spell and take it though.
In the end however, Guanyin simply resolves to go with Wukong herself in order to save Tripitaka. So after a bit of cute 'after you, no, no, I insist after you' banter, the two head out on her lotus platform. On their way she has Moksa borrow the Swords of Constellations from his father, which she then uses to transform into the lotus platform. Once they arrive at the demon mountain, Guanyin summons all the local gods and tells them to evacuate the mountain. Once they are done with that, Guanyin pours out the vase, resulting in an ocean of water leaving Guanyin quite at home in a place that now reflects the appearance of the south sea. Monkey also comments that Guanyin is rather merciful, since if he was the one with that power he would have just drowned the whole mountain without a care.
Guanyin has Monkey giver her his hand so she can write the word 'delusion' on his palm. She then tells him to pick another fight with Redboy and lure him back to her. So Monkey does what Monkey does best, and breaks down the demon's front door and uses his taunting ability to draw in some agro. So Monkey fights him for a while, and with the help of Guanyin's power of 'delusion', he successfully lures him to where Guanyin is waiting, and dives into her divine aura. Redboy yells at her, asking if she's supposed to be Monkeys reinforcement or something, but she doesn't reply. And when Redboy tries attacking her, she simply vanishes.
Guanyin and Wukong watch from above as Redboy decides that he must have defeated Guanyin and decides to take her fancy lotus platform as his prize. As soon as he takes a seat however, Guanyin reverts it back to it's true form: a bunch of pointy swords. When the demon tries to pull out the swords, Guanyin has them hook into him so they can't be pulled out. Once the demon starts crying and begging for mercy, Guanyin once again reveals herself and asks if he will become one of her disciples. The demon of course agrees, but since Guanyin didn't specify 'no take backs', Redboy tries to attack Guanyin as soon as she removes the swords.
Wukong of course moves to defend her, however there is no need. Guanyin pulls out the final gold fillet entrusted to her by Bhudda, she throws it at Redboy and it transforms into five fillets that encircle his head, hands and feet. Once they are on the demon, Guanyin recites a similar yet different spell from Wukong's, in order to subdue the demon. And with that we have reached the end of yet another chapter.

LMK VS Ledgend
Lady Bone Demon:
Tumblr media
LMK:
Lady Bone Demon had a recurring vision in which she saw herself destroying the Mortal Realm, a dream whose significance she could not understand at the time. To end the suffering of the Mortal Realm and its inhabitants because of its imperfections, Lady Bone Demon took on the guise of a human advisor named Ivory Lady and guided a mortal Emperor to become a better person for the world and his people.
Tumblr media
However, as she observed the ruler and his advisors neglecting the plight of the innocent, Lady Bone Demon became disappointed with the mortal realm's ability to effect change. Ultimately, she made the choice to obliterate the Mortal Realm, replacing it with a brand new one, as she deemed the existing realm's flaws to be irredeemable. The presence of Lady Bone Demon in the Emperor's court had a profound impact, causing the Chief of War to succumb to her influence. In a gesture of her immense power, she bestowed upon him a portion of her own abilities.
Tumblr media
It says on her wiki page that there have been misconceptions about Lady Bone Demon serving the Celestial Realm but there are several implications of this being false some being: The Mayor mentioned that Lady Bone Demon's plan was limited to the Mortal Realm prior to her confinement, corroborating her account in the flashback sequence in "Time to Be Warriors". Lady Bone Demon did not harbor any animosity towards the Celestial Realm. Her objective to remake it as well was to prevent immortal entities from obstructing her plans for the Mortal Realm, which would enable her to rectify her error, as she had not anticipated the intervention of celestial beings during her first attempt.
Although her original plan to recreate the world only involved the mortal realm, Lady Bone Demon was met with opposition from immortal beings since she had ill will toward them. Monkey King was able to defeat her, and while he intended to destroy her, Tang Sanzang insisted that Lady Bone Demon should be locked up until she could learn the error of her ways.

Baigujing / White Bone Spirit / White Bone Demoness, Lady Baigujing A Demonic Skeleton and Ruler of the White Bone Mountain
She is presumed to have once been a human turned into a demon after death which if is true, would make her unique among the Journey to the West demons, whose original self is either a magical animal or an ordinal animal or occasionally a deity or at least a servant of deities.
She disguised herself as a village girl and offered him and his disciples poisonous fruits. Baigujing appeared as a beautiful woman with a voloptuous body, pale skin, and long pure-white hair that reached her heels. She had no eyes and in her hollow eye sockets were ghostly white flames, which extinguished upon her death  and her lower face was hidden by a veil, behind it was the lower jaw of a human skull. She wore very VERY revealing clothes. Having survived the attack from Wukong, she dug underground to recover. She returned a second time disguised as an elderly woman. She lied to the group, causing them to believe that the village girl from earlier was her daughter. She returns a third time as an elderly man who lies about having a daughter and wife. She taunts Sun Wukong, provoking him, and engaging him into attacking her by using his powers, and only he can hear her. he finally beats her with his staff and kills the demon, revealing that she was just a skeleton spirit. Tang Sanzang, who initially believes Wukong, but Zhu Bajie convinces Tang Sanzang that Sun Wukong transformed the corpse into a skeleton to evade the Band-tightening spell. He cuts his ties with Sun Wukong and sends him away.
Legends:
Her early years are described as being like any other Alpha Daemon created by the original demons since antediluvian times and pent her youth in the underworld making mayhem and becoming acting least of the gashadokuto. Some say she was older than the planet in the Solar system over 4 billion years old.
Gashadokuro literally "rattling skeleton", also known as Odokuro are mythical creatures in modern Japanese mythology.
Tumblr media
She left the underworld like other demons to earth but due to the gods she and the rest of the gashadokuro first resided in Japan and adapted as youkai there she abandoned her army and moved back to China by herself so she could leave her responsibility. It says that after her death by Wukong, she went to Diyu and seduced Yanluo Wang and became his secret concubine. She basically took control over him and ruled the underworld herslef.
Tumblr media
She was a master manipulator whose demonic charisma allowed her to wrap others around her fingers like marionettes, with centuries of experience in planning, which allowed her to always be several steps ahead of her opponents. She had no problems surrendering or even dying if it meant she could avenge herself in the future or destroy her enemies alongside her.  She was a sadistic trickster who enjoyed taunting her victims before killing them, tormenting them with mind tricks she truly believed herself to be greater than the rest of them, with no exceptions. Her true form was that of a giant skeletal daemon much like other gashadokuro and was as high as, if not even higher, than the Shanghai Tower
Tumblr media
With spirits of ghostly white flames hovering by her side and acting as her minions in combat. Dripping from her eye sockets and jaw was viscous black blood that disintegrated anything it touched, as well as transforming any human into new gashadokuro.
Fun Facts:
In the Movie, The Monkey King Conquers the Demon, Baigujing is the main antagonist and there were some changes to the novel. One major one I wanted to share was that LBD was the daughter of the Nine-Tailed Vixen aka making her related to Jin and Yin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She is also the main antagonist from my favorite Monkey King movie: The Monkey King 2
Tumblr media
Thoughts
There was a scean in LMK that interested me.
Tumblr media
In the image, we see of course in the center LBD herself, and on either side is a young beautiful woman and an older woman most likely meant to represent her old lay and young women design we see in the novel. But the two all the way in the back could be disguises but they do look like her minions from the Monkey King 2 Movie.
Tumblr media
I am not saying this is true this is just an observation.
Also maybe her mega mech might be a representation of her full tower-sized skeleton form from her legends and we see in Monkey King 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also with her connection to the Kings of Death in the Underworld and season 5's antagonist who knows she may make a comeback in away.
Tumblr media
Hope you all Enjoyed: :)

Sun Wukong
(Word Count: 430)
[Name] yawned, stretching their arms outwards as they laid on their back against the firm mattress of Wukong's couch. With the long week they've had to deal with, a lazy Sunday was the exact crowning jewel they needed to kick back and unwind, and what better way to spend them than with one of your closest friends?
Resisting the urge to let their exhaustion coax them into slumber, [Name] turned over onto their side, curious to see what Wukong had been up to during the time they had been staring at the ceiling. The Monkey King had been seated on the floor, surprisingly too focused on whatever task he was trying to complete to respond to [Name]'s movements. Upon closer inspection, in front of him was a piece of paper with art supplies scattered around him.
[Name] blinked, "since when do you draw?"
That seemed to be enough to grab Wukong's attention. "Uh, since always? Didn't I tell you this before?"
"Yeah, but… I kind of figured you were bluffing."
Wukong looked at them with false offense, sputtering in exaggeration, as if he were actually upset by that comment. "Wha- I'm shocked! Offended, even! I have my hidden talents you know. See for yourself!"
Reluctantly, [Name] rolled off the couch to get a look at Wukong's supposed masterpiece. A lingering part of them still expected to see a humorous assortment of scribbles, yet they were completely blown away once they witnessed his scarily realistic and accurate depiction of Flower Fruit Mountain, fully sketched down to it's finest details. It even had Wukong's little monkeys companions, who's sketched counterparts were scurrying around the mountain.
"How is your work not on display in a museum?!" [Name] exclaimed questioningly. They felt a little guilty about underestimating Wukong's artistic talents. They just weren't expecting him to be insanely good.
"Stage fright, or something," Wukong nonchalantly shrugged.
"Or maybe being the Monkey King is just a cover for your true identity as an artist," They mused. "I can't believe you've had a secret identity all this time and you didn't tell me."
He laughed, deciding to play along with the joke. "Caught me red-handed! And if I told you, it wouldn't be a secret."
Their exchange of friendly banter went on for quite some time before [Name] finally decided to abandon their original Sunday plans of having an intense ceiling-staring session, choosing to watch Wukong color his work before grabbing a piece of paper for themself and joining him in his makeshift "art studio." Overall, it was the perfect close to a weekend of relaxation.
Tumblr media
Macaque
(Word Count: 446)
"'Come hiking with me' you said. 'It'll be worth it' you said," a muttered complaint spilled into the air, courtesy of [Name]. Macaque and [Name] had been hiking the same mountain for a little over an hour. The rugged terrain combined with the narrow twists and turns of the trail wasn't helping with [Name]'s growing exhaustion. "It feels like we've been at this for ages! How much further until we're there?"
Macaque's voice rumbled in a soft, fond chuckle, clearly finding amusement in his friend's whining. "Relax, we're almost there. Besides, I meant what I said. You'll be thanking me once we've reached the top. Would I lie to you?"
[Name] opened their mouth to respond, but Macaque beat them to the punch with a quick "don't answer that."
Thankfully, Macaque had been truthful. A mere ten minutes after that small exchange, they had finally reached their final destination. It was the height of the Spring season, so despite the gentle chill of the flowing breeze hitting their skin, the weather was warm and comfortable. The view itself was breathtaking. The natural assortment of flora below them shone vibrantly against the sunlight, resembling the picturesque nature of a meticulously painted landscape.
The awed look on [Name]'s face didn't escape Macaque's gaze. "Told you it would be worth it." He grinned, finding a spot near the mountain's edge to sit down. "Honestly, even I forgot how beautiful the view was from up here."
"You haven't been here recently?"
Macaque shook his head in answer. "I used to come up here all the time with an old friend, so it just brings up a lot of memories, you know?" Perhaps [Name] was imagining it, but it almost sounded like there was a hint of sadness in his voice. They chose not to question it, instead letting him continue. "I wasn't sure how I'd feel about coming up here again."
'It's part of the reason I invited you,' a sudden thought that went unspoken. That was a little too vulnerable for his tastes.
[Name] walked over to where he was sat and settled next to him. They didn't speak after that, instead choosing to take in the view in comfortable silence. There was nothing awkward about it. Believe it or not, Macaque wasn't always the most talkative, so having someone he could sit with in silence was a pleasant change of pace.
Time passed, with [Name] being the one to break the silence. "Thanks for inviting me, this was actually pretty nice."
"Glad you like it. Does that mean you'll stop bugging me by asking 'are we there yet' every time we climb up here?"
"Don't count on it."

It's all good! I'm always open to talk in asks! I hope you have a great day yourself! 💞💞
Genre: Romantic
Pronouns: Gender-Neutral
TW/CW: None
Characters: Sun Wukong-Monkey King, Macaque-Liu Er Mihou and MK
☀️SUN WUKONG☀️
Tumblr media
My boy was starstruck when he first saw you. All the miscellaneous accessories that adorned you and the pieces of cloth that hugged your voluptuous figure. The way your hair framed your round face, those beautiful, curious eyes. Literally has you on his mind everyday/all day.
He definitely tells you about his adventures, always going into detail and will absolutely exaggerate things- But he can't help it! The cute expressions you make when he does makes his heart burst with joy. And in turn, he listens to all the adventures you've had, and is surprised with a lot of them.
If you ever wish to see something from the city, then he'll take you and show you at night when he knows that no one's around. He doesn't want others to see your beauty. It sounds selfish, but he thinks you're too beautiful for the world to see. A simp, if you will.
You definitely teach him how to swim. It's a bit rough at first, but he eventually loosens up. He trusts you not to do anything mean, and though he still doesn't vibe with water, at least he knows how to swim.
His monkey friends absolutely love you. You bring little gifts for them and you're always nice! They always get sad when you have to leave. You're their mermaid mom! They don't mind getting wet if it means getting hugs!
🐵MK🐵
Tumblr media
He's so fucking stoked! He's asking all sorts of questions, like if aquamarine came from mermaid tears? Do you live forever? Can a kiss give him gills? Does your tail color change according to your mood? You explain with great detail about what's false and true, and he's jotting it down in his notes.
He always has swimwear with him should he ever feel the need to jump in the water and be next to you. Which is a lot of times. At a certain point, he just started wearing them underneath his clothes. His friends find it a bit funny, but they're just happy that MK has someone like you in his life.
He's thinks you're an absolute goddess. Literally thinks you're the most beautiful being in the world. He's always thinking about you and what you're doing while he's off doing hero stuff or work. But once he's done, he rushes to your side and you both talk for hours. He's thankful that you're in his life.
He's really thankful when you help him get to FFM with safe yet fast tides. Nowadays, he gets a mini boat and talks with you as you get him there. If you want to watch him train, he'll buy one of those small, foldable bathtubs and take you up the mountain with him.
When you wanna hang out with the others or check something out, he gets the foldable bathtub and carries you around. He wants you to be able to see the world he's experienced and do more things with you. Take you on cute little dates and share his culture with you.
🌙MACAQUE🌙
Tumblr media
He's cautious when he first meets you. He's heard things about both mermaids and sirens, and he's yet to see either, only hearing stuff from all sorts of people. So he's on guard, trying to act all cool and stuff. But your curious and kind demeanor has him putty in your hands.
You're absolutely gorgeous to him. Even when he's seen you surface from the water over a hundred times, he's still entranced when he sees the moonlight cascade on you, like it's his first time. And seeing you so happy to see him makes his heart skip a beat everytime.
He's always stealing getting you sea themed accessories, like pearl earring, sea shell necklaces, bracelets, even little headbands and tiaras. Sometimes, he'll even make them himself! Those are the ones you cherish the most and constantly wear it.
He's not gonna lie when he says that he thinks that it's hot when you use your powers and don't even have to lift a finger, especially on your enemies. Seeing the quick change from your kind, happy expression to angry, hate filled makes him happy that he's not your enemy.
Should you ever want to go somewhere new, he'll be happy to take you. He doesn't have a foldable tub for you, so he'll hold you in his arms. Doesn't mind it one bit though, since he'll get to touch you and tease you about it. He definitely considers your little outings as dates.
Sorry for any grammar/spelling errors!

Character study - SUN WUKONG AND MACAQUE
Alright class today we talk about macaque and wukong for not particular reason
Did you know that aside from all the beautiful things we write about macaque and wukong being a super cute couple that eventually divorced, in the jttw canon macaque is just the dark side of wukong
(Yes everyone we are actually in Star Wars)
Killing macaque is like the representation of giving away any dark feelings to finally reach enlightenment
It’s safe to assume that macaque is literally wukong shadow-
What? Sounds familiar?
Yes obviously , cuz that is most likely the interpretation that the Lmk crew gave upon creating macaque character.
The evil part of sun wukong- his shadow
For today class we are going to take as example the lion king
In particular Scar and Mufasa - the reason is that they are , in terms of character design choices, very similar to our beloved monkeys
Tumblr media
Here mufasa, the king , his colors are gold and red, the colors of regality
The same that wukong has
On the other hand Scar is supposed to be the evil side of Mufasa , in a way a sort of shadow
Tumblr media
And so he has the same palette of colors but it’s darker, cuz you know dark side
Same goes with macaque, he almost has the same palette colors of wukong just darker to show that he is his dark side.
Tumblr media
Anyway I could stay all night taking about their colors and outfits
And since I can I will-
I really love one the first interaction that we have with macaque
Tumblr media
The fact that he has his like scarf covering all of him shows us how he is hiding his true intentions, in short a big red flag for us when he showed up the first time.
Also he is all put in a posture to show us how intimidating this sugar is
Then I like to talk about how their colors change under the influence of the lady bone demon.
Macaque :
Tumblr media
In this particular outfit macaque keeps his gold and red, to show us that somehow he is still bounded to his past life, but his colors are the one of sadness and fear- if this two emotions are his or for others to feel I leave to interpretation.
Under the service of the lady bone demon, macaque outfit is more “symmetrical” , it’s a huge change from the past one he had.
A symmetrical character is usually seen as evil and calculating
Tumblr media
See how symmetrical her outfit and pose are, this show us that she’s evil
Now for macaque it could be a representation of him being an actual treat in this season but it could also represent that he is working for a villain.
Wukong :
Tumblr media
Even for wukong his new outfit is more symmetrical. Getting rid of the scarf that created “noises” on his outfit.
The fact is that wukong original outfit is already symmetrical, differently from macaque’s; but in his case it’s done to give us a false sense of perfection in wukong character.
Us like MK always look at this character with admiration, to us wukong is perfect; only when he stop wearing that outfit in favor of the one he has in S3, we actually start to see that this character has many flaws and demons, but we had to get pass this perfect shell.
Wukong color change is the perfect representation of the downfall of a character always depicted as great and strong
Do you know Cersei Lannister from GOT?
Good cuz we are taking her as an example
In the first seasons, when she is depicted as powerful and “happy”, if you know what I mean
She is shows to wear red and gold, royalty colors, and having long hair, having long hair means that that character is free
Tumblr media
Very similar to wukong situation
But when she’s near her downfall , at her worst state, she wears silver, green/ blue, this colors infact represent the downfall of a character and the fact that they lost themselves
Tumblr media
Also she has like short hair here which shows to us that she’s not free anymore
Same goes for wukong, when under the possession on lbd he lost himself and so he wears silver and blue
But when he breaks from LBD control
Tumblr media
His colors has gone back to red and gold, cuz he found himself again, the fact that he also has WHITE in his design , which is a new color in his outfit outline the fact that he is free , “purified” from LBD control
Alright class that was all for today, I hope you enjoyed this little things ✨💕

hi, I don't know if you've heard about “Journey to the West: The Real and Fake Monkey King”, starring the actor of the monkey king from 1986? This year only the poster came out and from what I saw the project is somewhat controversial.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah I've been hearing about this one! I think this might be part of the Monkey King 2014 verse but I'm not sure as the summary of the movie seemed to have changed.
I’ve only found websites that talk about the synopsis, do you mind telling me where you saw this? Unless you are talking about Liu Xiao Ling Tong himself as he is kinda seen as a.... purist I think is the right word to use. He has become kinda a meme in recent years as he is very judgemental of Sun Wukong adaptions that do not fit his mold of what he thinks the Monkey King represents, "Parodies should not be nonsense, adaptations should not be groundless recreations" and even advocated for laws banning parodies of classics.
"The sensation of Liuxue started when a cohort of trolls poked fun at Zhang’s years-long attempt to increase his relevance after starring as Sun Wukong 孙悟空, a.k.a. the Monkey King, in a 1986 television adaption of Journey to the West (西游记 Xīyóujì). The role is widely regarded as the pinnacle of Zhang’s acting career. Seeing generally tepid reception to his subsequent works, Zhang morphed into an objectively annoying celebrity who perennially dwells on his best-received performance, constantly boasting about his legacy and attaching his entire worth on the original novel and its variations, a cultural heritage to which Zhang only made a relatively small contribution. But unlike other sellout artists, Zhang went so far that people are now questioning his sanity. It’s documented that, at certain speaking engagements, he branded himself as the only person alive who can offer definitive interpretations of the original Journey to the West. At the funeral of Yang Jie 杨洁, director of the 1986 TV adaption, Zhang filmed a video promoting an upcoming movie where he plays the character again."
In any case, he does seem to be extreme in his views but I can't say if he is considered to be controversial moreso eccentric. While I don't agree with him and I do like the advocacy of laws banning parodies is borderline ludicrous, I can't say that he actually has any power or persuasion to make these realities. I can see why he is treated more as a joke/meme as what he is saying is impossible as there have been more adaptions than ever before. I hope that if he does get this movie made then at least his actors are paid well and that the movie production itself goes smoothly.
If this wasn't what you were talking about please let me know what you hear! Would love to know what’s going on!

He OP what does it feel like to be an entire genius in terms of story implications, especially since Sun Wukong having a big bro/lil’ bro relationship with Bai Longma the dragon-horse could smack of Mr. Monkey King still clinging to his position in heaven as the pimawen, even if he expressed hatred for such a position later?
Double whammy for Liu Er on how one person makes him feel he was replaced twice over :(
I think really hard about the implications of Bai Longma being the one helping out Sun Wukong in the upcoming true or false Monkey King movie
As it stands the whole thing seems like it’s meant to be set up as this mystery thriller premise with Sun Wukong trying to figure out what’s the deal with his imposter (ie Six ear) with Bai Longma in particular helping him and going through kind of a psychological crisis over the whole thing only for it to be revealed in a SHOCKING TWIST (only not that shocking because it literally spells it out in the movie description) that it’s his little brother Liu Er who wants to replace him out of scorn/revenge/jealousy
So… what exactly does that mean for Longma, aka youngest disciple dragon-horse brother being brought into this conflict between Sun Wukong and his younger brother from Huaguao? Because if one of the major theme to this movie is going to be about brotherhood and Sun Wukong being forced to choose between his brother and his pilgrimage, then the idea that he’s gonna have to protect Longma from Liu Er, who may believe his big brother is replacing him with these new brothers of his, that brings in a whole new level of catharsis
Liu Er: (Sees SWK with his new lil dragon-horse bro)
Liu Er: And I took it personally.

One of the reasons I really like JTTW 1986 is that this Sun Wukong is a cheeky and silly (but still very competent) monkey but then sometimes he’ll pull out some of the ol’ ultra-violence that makes you go like “oh yeah he was literally a warlord for centuries.”

Finding a site where you can watch for free and with subtitles is very difficult. Some sites have a lot of advertising, so be careful when you include.
On other sites, when you start the video, you may be redirected to another site before uploading the video, don't worry, just close the tab and return to the site where the movie is
If you know another site better than the one I suggested, please email me, I'll change the link
if the site knocks out an error, it is likely that this site will not open in your area
Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope for your understanding
P.s There is a site where I watched most of the movies in October 2021. I enjoyed watching it and the site itself is very convenient. However, when I decided to look again in 2022, it turned out that now everything is paid and you need to buy a VIP. If you want to watch without unnecessary ads, etc. I will leave a link here

This has to do with the fight scene I mentioned a little bit ago. Part three of a fic I wrote, last part was "Lost Moon"
Cw// fighting, graphic death and funeral scene, as well as self destructive coping mechanism
Be careful
An Eclipsed Moon, Leaving the Sun Alone
The sky was grey. It always seemed grey, or at the very least, felt grey; empty.
The pilgrims truck into another cluster of mountains, they were nearing the end of the journey. Feeling so close to the monastery that they could touch it.
The group were becoming increasingly excited, babbling to themselves, for the thought of not needing to travel another step being within reach. Well except for Sun Wukong, he wasn't excited and his traveling wouldn't be ending any time soon.
He was melancholy. For once the journey was over, he intended to find his Moon once more. To reunite again.
Thinking he was still out there, alive and well, gave him hope but he wasn't always so optimistic. Sometimes, at night, he wonders if it could be true—that his Moon was indeed alright.
The simian felt his feet drag along the dry dirt under him, weak and tired. He would usually summon his somersault cloud to give him time to rest but it gave the king unwanted time to think, to dream.
He rubbed at his drooping eyes, puffy from crying and lack of sleep. It made him wonder sometimes, if Wukong were to find his Lui ēr again, if he'd recognize him when they saw eachother.
The sage had surely lost the features his Moon knew him for. He's sure he charming looks he had under the tired eyes and body. Was he still the Peaches the demon monkey cared so deeply for?
The stone monkey felt ears twitch at the sound of rustling leaves as they came to an area where the ground flattened, someone was following them.
He stiffened, signalling the others to stop which they listened to. After activating his gold vision, he looked around the area the surroundings. Nothing, or at least a more stifler target.
He listened closely again, there were no rustling or signs of moving.
"Looks like a false alarm, probably was just a critter-" Wukong felt a brush of wind hit him as a black blur swished passed him. 'Nevermind, it wasn't a false alarm' he managed to think before sprinting to block the assault.
He raised his staff, successfully colliding with the assailant's weapon before it hit Tripitaka.
The monkey glared towards the person before being hit with a mix of emotions. "L- Liu 'er?" He stumbled out. Relief, excitement, guilt, confusion. It all swirled around inside him, he was overwhelmed in the best possible way.
"Plum!" He cheered as the two monkeys pulled their staffs away, "I can't believe it- it's you- it's actually you!"
Wukong allowed his arms to drop to his side's casually, not knowing what to do with them anyway. Relieved, he was so relieved. "I was convinced that I was going to spend centuries alone while I look in all directions for you," his watery red eyes gazed at his Moon's longingly as the sage opened his arms up for an expected hug "but look at you! You're here, I have my Moon back- we're together!"
Excitement overtook his voice, feeling his chest become warm inside once more. Something he was convinced he'd never feel again. 'I missed you' he'd thought.
When the other monkey didn't come in for the hug, his mood faltered as he lowered his arms. "Liu 'er? Plum?" Macaque wasn't looked at his eyes, grey eyes only flickering between the fillet on the king's head and the monk. His eyes like steel, his pupil mere slits, serious.
"I'm here for the monk Wukong" the shadow weaver's voice was stern, though it seemed forced. As though it hurt to talk sternly to the stone monkey. Sun Wukong's felt his heart sink, Wukong not Peaches.
"He's the one to tear us apart, he put that stupid ring on your head and made you go on this pilgrimage," Macaque gripped his shadow staff tighter "once he is gone, no one can rip us apart ever again!"
His Moon would never think of hurt someone unless he felt himself, or people he cared for, were in danger. Monkey King had to think of something quick.
"Hurting the monk will do no good, this is something for us to settle," he tried to reason "Lui 'er- we can talk this out I promise." The other monkey's expression didn't seem to change, his eyes still cold as steel.
"No can do Wukong.." his Moon ready his stance.
"Liu 'er.. please." He pleaded. Let's not fight, stay, stay with me... I just got you back. His world was slipping.
"I'll only say this once, move Sun Wukong!"
He moved his staff to be in front him again, feeling off balance. "I can't do that Plum," "then I'll go around you!"
The ash coloured monkey snarled angrily, dashing towards the sage. He held his ground, only for the other to leap into the air. Quickly Wukong used his staff as a leverage, kicking up and pushing Macaque back a couple feet.
The demon monkey stabled himself, summoning some shadow clones before sending them to attack the stone monkey. Monkey blocked the clones' attack with his staff, stumbling backwards only slightly, before dispersing them. He caught a glimpse of something in corner of his eyes and sprinted off into the direction of whatever it was.
Macaque had tried to go for Tripitaka again while Wukong was busy with the clones. Pigsy and Sandy had put themselves in front of their master but by the looks of his Moon's face, they would quickly be ripped through.
The monkeys hands lock together, they had let their staffs drop, pushing against the other's force. "That monk is what's keeping us apart! Don't you see?!" The shadow weaver yelled, looking into the auburn monkey's eyes for the first time since he'd shown up.
"This has nothing to do with the monk, I'm the one that yelled at you!"
"Yes because of that monk!" Macaque growled, kicking Wukong in the stomach. He winced for a second but recovered quickly. No one but a few exceptions could leave a mark on him.
The stone monkey unlocked their hands and punched his friend back, holding his strength back to not hurt his Moon as the other stumbled back. He tried to make every push, every kick, punch softer.
Because a lot of things can hurt Liu 'er..
The demon monkey winces, clutching his middle. He didn't bounce back right away and a pit crawled into Monkey King's throat. 'Had I punch too hard?' he asked himself, 'broken a rib? Part of his spine maybe?'
Red eyes met grey ones once the darker monkey recovered. Please Wukong's pleaded, let's not fight anymore.
Macaque eyes soften, no longer the hard steel but gentle moonlight he remembers. It seems as though the shadow weaver was stopping himself, holding himself from hugging Wukong with the longing they both felt. His moonlight eyes saying: I wish that could be possible.
His Moon glanced at Tripitaka, eyes becoming hard again, before looking back at Wukong. A final argument about ending the monk where he stood. The stone monkey frowned, shaking his head, 'don't do it.'
Shadow weaver lowered his head, a silent apology, summoning another staff before dashing towards Tripitaka for a final attempt. "No!" The sage shouted, all cohesive thought leaving his head as followed after with staff in hand. Pigsy managed to push Macaque enough that he toppled slightly. Wukong leaps into the air, holding the staff up as he slammed it against the demon's head.
He had intended to knock Macaque out so they could tie him up, when he would wake up he could talk things out with him. Find out why his Moon thought killing the monk would solve the issue between them.
But as he lands, he looks upon his companion's body laying on the ground as blood dripped from his face. He doesn't get up, doesn't even grumble in pain or breath a shakily breathe.
Sun Wukong rushes over to him, picking him up and laying him across his lap. He had a large gash down his right eye from his brow to his cheek.
"Liu 'er?" He called as he shook the unconscious monkey's shoulder lightly, chirping. The king felt his eyes tear up. He placed an ear against his Moon's chest as Monkey King listened for a slow heartbeat. Nothing came, no breath, no heartbeat. He choked on a sob as he pulled Macaque closer to his chest.
"LIU 'ER!!"
Wukong felt like he was back on Flower Fruit Mountain, but this pain felt so much worse. At least then he knew his Moon was alive.
He had been reunited with Liu 'er and he killed him, he ended his Moon.
--
After getting the sage to let go of Macaque, the pilgrims began to assemble what they could to preform the proper burial.
Sun Wukong had flown back to retrieve a change of clothes for the other monkey to be changed into after being washed. Pigsy and Tripitaka obtain the jade that would be placed on the shadow weaver's eyes and mouth. Sandy built the coffin that would be used.
His master along with the Great Sage washed and dressed Macaque in the clothes he had gotten, they had been a gift from Wukong that the other seemed to cherish.
As he had been cleaning the wound, what had ended his Moon's life, he felt himself pause. Running a finger gently across the cutter cheek, outlining the shape of it. Moving to push some longer fur out of his companion's face. His eyes felt so raw, looking down at his Liu 'er, having been crying since he'd held the smaller monkey in his arms. He had been sure he was crying then too, but was so used to the feeling he hadn't felt the water come out his eyes.
He'd forced himself to continue on with the cleaning process.
Sun Wukong had picked a nearby tree to bury Macaque. It seemed like a fitting spot to have it. A place Moon would've liked sleeping under once everything got quiet.
Tripitaka placed the jade on the darker monkey's eyes and mouth, saying a prayer as Wukong and Sandy lowered the coffin into the hole in the ground.
The sage remained there through the rest of the day, and the days that followed.
He'd lay there at night even though he hardly slept and wouldn't join in for meals. The others left him mostly allowed beside coming to bring something in hopes he'd eat or to say prayers.
Tripitaka joined him one of the days, taking a seat next to him but no words were shared between them.
"Master..?" Wukong had called out quietly after awhile of silence, peeking a glance at the monk. "Yes, Sun Wukong? What do you need?" The auburn monkey clutched his fists atop his knees.
He gulped. "Master, I would like you to..." The king hesitated "perform the mantra that goes with the gold fillet I wear."
The reincarnation of Golden Cicada sat shocked. The mantra was meant as a way to keep the sage in line whenever he disobeyed. A punishment.
"Sun Wukong, I don't believe that is a good idea-"
"You said that Buddhists do not kill, well, you made me a Buddhist when you took me as your disciple" Monkey King turned fully towards the other. "What's so difference from the one times you used that mantra?!" Tears streamed down his face as he shouted, "I killed someone, any other time you would have already recited it, I'm asking you aren't I? So do it monk!"
Tripitaka sat stunned, Wukong faltered. "I- I'm sorry master.." the stone monkey's voice was soft as he reverted his eyes away to look towards the tree, "I should not have of raised my voice."
"The Sun Wukong that warranted putting the fillet didn't feel regret or remorse for killing," the monk gazed up at the tree "the Sun Wukong sitting next to me does."
Tripitaka sighed, "you asked for the difference from the other times the mantra was used." Monkey King nodded. He placed a hand on the monkey's shoulder, looking at him sympathetically, "the difference is that you are in pain because you lost someone so dear to you."
"It doesn't see right to use the mantra while you are grieving.."
Wukong placed his hand atop of the monk's, being extra careful to not grip too hard. "Liu 'er Mihou.. never hurt me once in the whole time that I'd known him, and how do I repay that kindness to him? I kill him!" He remarked between sobs.
Tripitaka let him cry, never moving his hand away from the sage's shoulder.
"Master I need to be punished for what I have done to Liu 'er, please, I'm begging you as both your disciple and your friend.. please!" He looked at his master as though the world was crumpling beneath him, because in some ways.. it was. He had lost his Moon and his goal for going home to Flower Fruit Mountain in one swoop, by his own hands. Wukong was looking for some way to compensate for the pain he put his Moon through, to punish himself for still being alive when Liu 'er wasn't.
"Alright," Tripitaka said with a sigh "but I would first like to know why you picked this tree for your..."
"Mate, lover."
"For your mate's burial place" he finished.
"Moon-", "Moon?" The monk interrupted, confused by the sudden name change.
"Oh! A nickname I used to call Liu 'er, we used to compare ourselves to the sun and moon," the stone monkey explained "he was the moon and I was the sun; like part of my name but he mainly called me Peaches- since I really like peaches." Wukong smiled sadly at the memory.
"I see, so the tree?"
"Right- yeah- sorry Master" he chuckled half-heartedly as he scratched under his chin. "Moon liked sleeping in trees, well most monkeys do but him especially because of his ears; since six" he made a gesture towards the side of his head.
"He'd sleep separated from the rest of the monkeys in this big tree! It had lots of flowers like this one," the tree was a light brown with smooth bark and was surrounded by an assortment of flowers "I thought it might be a fitting spot for him to.. rest."
"I'm sure he appreciates it Wukong," "if he isn't already hating my guts right now..." He said bitterly.
"Before you do it, can I have one more moment?"
"Of course."
Wukong stands up and goes over to tree, placing his forehead against the trunk in a gesture the two monkeys used to do with each other.
"I hope you can see how sorry I am Liu 'er, for everything.." he stated sadly.
He turned back to Tripitaka and sat down in front of him. "Thank you for doing this Master, I'm ready" with that the monk stood up and brought his hands together.
As his master recited the mantra, a pain coursed through his head causing him to flinch. His face scrunched up but he refuse himself from being able to yell out, to allow his body the satisfaction to keel over in pain from the splitting headache.
His Moon went through more than this. Sun Wukong deserved what was happening to him, he needed to be punished.
The Moon has disappeared, leaving his Sun alone and lost without him.
The Sun has elcipsed the Moon permanently. Something he desperately wished could be undone.
The Sun cries and cries but his Moon can not come back to him. He is to live without him and go back to the mountain alone.
To always be alone, without the moon, only the night sky to comfort him.
