Not that he could resist their cute little faces. Guess the little guys were getting some tanghulu — sharing was caring after all. Though, any strawberry ones he wasn't about to share.

With that he gave the young girl a gentle pat on the head in response. It was sweet when she tried to defend him but she really didn't have to — not like it bugged him much.

little suns are wiggling in for snuggle time! Cuddles and naps with their warrior Two of their favorite things

Making room for the little ones to get comfortable in the nest, curling his tail around them protectively. The closest of the bunch get some nuzzles and lil' grooming nibbles while the others get pets before he settles down.

Oh, he is very much laying on the charm. With a lot of sincerity too.

Some of the little suns have discovered said onesies! They were way too big but the cubs are having fun none the less.

"Awww, precious babies~"

He can't help but gush over the cuteness before him. How could he not? They were too cute and precious for words — the king adored his little ones so much.

"I'll have to see about getting you guys your own widdle onsies now~"

It was getting harder and harder to focus. Even still, the grip around the shadow's wrist tightened ever so slight in the moment. Wanting to help quell the worry that had taken the other simian's being — hating that he was making him feel this turmoil. Why couldn't he have just left when he told him to? Why didn't he just ignore it? Now, instead he was here fretting over his well-being and causing himself nothing but worry.

Another pang ripped through his chest. He didn't deserve this type of worry, this type of care — Macaque should just leave and let him suffer. It wasn't like it wasn't deserved.

"P'ease...d'nt h've sta's 'ere w'meh..."

Feeling himself tremble softly, not sure if it was from the emotional turmoil plaguing his heart or the cold. Either way, the golden simian hated it. Why couldn't he just leave? Sure, he was in a sorry state — one brought on by his own hubris — but it would pass in time.

"...w'y d'yeu st'y...?"

Gods, he hated his mouth right now. Words slurring together in an unintelligent mess that spilled from his lips. Brows pinching as it took some effort for his gaze to move towards Macaque's own, conflict clear across them. He didn't understand this. He didn't understand why he cared — he shouldn't care. Not about him.

His grip tightened more around the wrist still in his grasp. As much as he wanted the ebony simian to leave...he couldn't help but find comfort in his presence. Hating himself for basking in it. It was undeserved attention and care after all.

Macaque sucked a harsh breath, struggling to compose himself from that soft squeeze. It was wrong...wrong to see the sage like this. His core sputtered inside his chest. Though he couldn't exactly understand what Wukong was saying, the tone was enough to put the pieces together. The damn fool was trying to comfort him, him! As if the sage wasn't going through—ugh! His claws flexed, and his next breath rattled through his chest. This bumbling idiot, putting the ebony simian's feelings above his own physical health.

His teeth ground against each other as he lowered his head to give the sick king a withering look. It did not hold as much fire as it could have. If anything he was more...disappointed. Yes, that was it. Any anger he could've had was smothered by the rising panic and the lingering disappointment.

"Shut up," he hissed. His tail whipped around behind him, lifted his other hand to grip the hand holding him. "You're anything but fine, you idiot. Focus on healing and resting, and not...this." The words were a low grumble, the other struggling to hide how much this bothered him. Not that he felt like he was doing a good job.

"How'd you even get sick in the first place?"

Heavens above, he shouldn't even be talking with Wukong. The shadow should be leaving and let the other rest. But he didn't really trust the sage to even do that right. It was Wukong, after all.
