In order to better police Arcadia and combat the use of criminal and terrorist armoured vehicles and Otlows the Arcadian government developed the Histool, like the older Otlow, the Histool was developed from mobile pod technology, outfited with exceptionally long spindly telescopic legs, as well as a third stabilising leg to allow the mobile suit to effectively use heavy weapons. The telescopic limbs also grant the suit a disturbing degree of urban mobility, striding through city blocks with ghastly prehensility.

Had THE funniest dream last night
#i was roommates with this couple who for some reason decided they were going to bone directly outside the house#like on the front porch more or less#except they were really worried about being seen? so i was kind of keeping a lookout for them#pretty much as soon as they.. began; a legolas cosplayer appeared complete with a camera crew#OH THAT WAS THE THING! my roommates were filming themselves but it was just on a mounted tripod#so i just opened the window and said ‘uhhh do you guys have a camera crew?’ and they looked around and screamed#had to run inside naked from the waist down. i was laughing and laughing#for some reason my next move was to post about this on tumblr but it got no notes and i was impatient so i posted about it on facebook#and TONS of people liked it immediately and then were sharing it and long story short it went viral#and there were random people in the comments saying like ‘oh this is so obviously fake’ and ‘why does she sound so unconcerned?’#because why would i be concerned?? gay sex is legal.. having it where other people can see isn’t exactly legal but they got inside quickly#and the legolas cosplayer and his camera crew didn’t exactly seem traumatised. they just looked confused if anything#also i’d written it in kind of a sarcastic and funny tone to be entertaining because it was honestly an absurd situation#why i would’ve posted this to FACEBOOK where most of my friends are my elderly relatives; ex-coworkers and high school people i don’t know#anyway that was my dream. two guys i vaguely know had four-second sex on my front porch; saw a legolas cosplayer; screamed and ran inside#OH and the other part of my dream was one of my mutuals on here (who i have only spoken to via prev tags) for some reason had my mobile#number and kept trying to call me#i had them in my phone just as their tumblr url even though they have a name and i know it? and for some reason i kept panicking#and rejecting the call and then coming up with spurious reasons for doing so#even though this person was extremely chill about it and was like ‘oh we can just talk another time!’#it made NO sense. i would absolutely speak to this person on the phone if i got the chance#but also why would i give them my number? and why would they be calling me from the states??#anyway. if you need me i’m going to make breakfast and go to pilates#personal

A prayer for Hephaestus + Digital offering
I sing of strong-handed Hephaestus who spends his days working in forges, whose keen eyes pierce through the darkness like a pair of blazing torches
Who found his way back to Olympus after being cast from heaven’s lofty height, going up as do the lava and ash a volcano shoots into the sky
Indomitable lord of Lemnos, you yourself are fire, vigorous and all-consuming, your wrath is dreaded and dire
For no creature can hold you, yet your grip sears the soul with pain, entire cities turn to mountains of ash when drowned in the light of your domain
Trees pop and cackle when you blacken their trunks and pluck their leaves, there’s no limit to the havoc your red breath conceives
Yet as skilled as you are in destruction, you excel far more in matters of creation, and time after time you’ve blessed mortal minds with ideas of world-changing innovation
When metals are melted through your ardent will and they swirl in a hot and bubbly pool of incandescence you inspire humans into molding them to their will, overtaking their bodies with your much-generating essence
So that they may forge weapons to defend themselves against whatever dangers may cross their path and utensils to handle and share their food with ease and care, armors to remain unscratched in the face of harm and sparklingly lovely jewelry to wear
Every material is subdued through your mighty sway, all-taming, smoke-cloaked god who leads the craftsman’s way
Hard rock bends to your will when a sculptor chisels it away, your embrace softens unyielding iron and hardens supple clay
Thanks to you ground-born wood is cut into endless shapes and grainy sand is turned to glass when your wisdom partakes
For you’ve taught to men from all across the earth the skills and techniques needed to reshape the matter around them into items of new that’ll help them in their day to day
Thus you’ve made our lives easier and our existences happier, and wherein we once dwelt in caves and ate flesh cold and raw, because of you we now live in houses and cook our meals over your glow, a switch worthy of awe
You devise not just utility, but also beauty beyond measure; you prompt people into begetting art that may be unto all eyes a source of joy and pleasure
Sowing the world with hope and reasons to smile, with good cause are you married to soft-veiled Aglaia, a goddess most sublime
And for those who have trouble moving you have designed tools purposed to help them on their endeavors; you yourself are supported by many devices as you attend to your labors
For they call you club-footed on account of your limping walk, and in accordance you’ve invented marvelous machines to help you move around; wonderful wheeled tripods that go to a fro on on their own account, as well as gold-wrought maidens, beauteous and mobile, that hold you as you stand
Oh, sooty prince, famed for your skill, divine blacksmith of whom hammers and tongs are the thrill
Anvil-throned, renowned warmth-bearer, heed my words and listen to my prayer
Gift me with the wits to better my life step by step and to understand how to make the best out of any situation using what I have at hand
Cleanse me in your flames so that I may be rid of all that holds me back, melt me down and build me anew, forge a version of me that’s wiser and yet kinder too
Gift me with sword and shield so that I can stand my ground when needed, yet also with a mirror to remind myself and others of the unique splendor we’ve been given
Never cease to kindle the spark of creativeness within my heart, purest amongst the blessed, you who lives in art

While the terrestrial mudskipper has many of the same organs as other vertebrates, it does have a few oddities due to its teleost lineage and tripod gait. Due to the front and back motion of the spine to facilitate the movement of the third leg (similar to how a whale and dolphin swim), the organs of terrestrial mudskippers are relegated towards the front of the body to not put pressure on them during locomotion. The second oddity terrestrial mudskippers possess is their respiratory system and lung placement. Like Earth mudskippers, the Atterran terrestrial mudskipper has four nostrils, a pair on the front of the snout where one would expect, and one pair near the eyes. Between these two eyes rests the sinus cavity, which holds the scent receptors of the animal. The front pair of nostrils is the intake pair, meaning that every time the terrestrial mudskipper inhales, the air is brought in through the pair of nostrils on their snout. When exhaling, the air is pushed out through the nostrils near their eyes. Unlike other fish with two-chambered hearts, the terrestrial mudskipper has developed a four-chambered heart like birds and mammals due to no longer using gills for oxygen acquisition.
Since the ancestral mudskippers lost their swim bladders (a gas bladder developed from a primordial lung in fish), the ability to breathe through their skin, and the flesh of their mouths and throats (like Earth mudskippers), terrestrial mudskippers had to completely re-evolve a pair of lungs to facilitate their more energetic lifestyles on land. The ancestral mudskippers held water in their gill chambers to help facilitate breathing and swallowing. Once they evolved a tongue to help them swallow food on land, they no longer needed this pocket to store water. The empty pocket instead served as a site for tissue to absorb oxygen.
Throughout many generations, this change led to the development of lungs within the necks of the terrestrial mudskippers instead of the chest like other vertebrates (thus going through a similar process to how the lungs of tetrapods first evolved). However, their lung placement made them more susceptible to neck trauma than other vertebrates. To help protect themselves from damage, they grew loose ribs from their neck vertebrae to form a pseudo rib cage over the top and side of the. Like the ribs found on snakes, these ribs are highly mobile. They flex with every breath and shift when the terrestrial mudskipper moves its head while hunting or foraging.
Another oddity that terrestrial mudskippers have inherited from their ancestors is the presence of an organ known as a Head Kidney. The head kidney is an organ unique to teleost fish comprised of cytokine-producing lymphoid cells from the immune system. It is analogous to the adrenal gland in mammals. The head kidney also contains endocrine cells that secrete cortisol, catecholamines, and thyroid hormones. The head kidney, therefore, plays a critical role in the terrestrial mudskipper's immune and endocrine systems to function, as the organization of these systems into one organ allows for extensive bidirectional communication between the two. It fills a similar role to bone marrow in mammals.
Behind the head kidney of the terrestrial mudskipper is the trunk kidney, another organ unique to teleost fish. The trunk kidney in terrestrial mudskippers helps process pathogens and toxins from its blood as part of the animal's execratory system. Like its ancestors, the terrestrial mudskipper uses the trunk kidney to maintain osmoregulation between water and salt within its body. Like mammals' kidneys, the trunk kidney also removes waste products from the blood to produce urine that is then excreted out the cloaca instead of the gills like their ancestors. In conjunction with the head kidney, the trunk kidney processes pathogens and works as an important part of the animal's innate and adaptive immune system. Many immune-related genes and interferon-stimulated genes allow for strong immune responses within the animal when pathogens are detected within its blood. The trunk kidney helps the adaptive immune system by helping to scrub and gather pathogens in the body to break down and store the genetics, creating a databank of viruses that allows the terrestrial mudskipper to create antibodies against different viruses and infections effectively.
This ability to break down pathogens in the blood makes the immune system of the terrestrial mudskipper more robust compared to other animals, but not invincible, as any disease with a high enough viral load or potency can still overwhelm the animal's immune system and lead to its death. Therefore, this robust immune system allows the animal to survive pathogens that would be deadly to other organisms and generally grant resistance against prolonged symptoms while sick. Interestingly, the ability to break down pathogens also extends to blood toxins, such as venom. The trunk kidney breaks down the toxic molecules to negate them in the bloodstream by immune cells. This makes the terrestrial mudskipper more resistant to venom employed by other animals, but not completely, as the trunk kidney will eventually be overtaxed and may even become damaged from scrubbing the blood of these toxins. This ability is believed to be a response to the ecology of the hollows, where some mushrooms deploy toxic spores to reproduce. As well as the wide use of different blood-carried venoms deployed by anthropods to subdue their prey.
The last oddity of terrestrial mudskipper biology lies in their digestive system. Their intestines are noticeably shorter compared to other vertebrates of their size. This is partly due to the compartmentalization of organ space because of their tripod gait and due to the presence of pyloric ceca. Pyloric ceca are tubes at the back end of the stomach and the beginning of the intestines that aid digestion. They secrete enzymes that break down food and absorb nutrients, acting like a condensed small intestine. This is possible because the pyloric ceca greatly expands the area of intestine absorption, allowing for a shorter but no less efficient intestinal track than most other vertebrates. The rest of the intestines help further extract the nutrition and create solid waste expelled through the cloaca.
Between the bladder and colon exists the gonads of the terrestrial mudskipper, making it the reverse order to other vertebrates in their placement of excretory orifices and organ placement. The gonads of the terrestrial mudskipper hold both the testes and the penis of the animal between them, with the uterus occupying the same area in females. In females, the uterus stores eggs until feralization and eventually lays them, with a few species giving birth to live young. Some terrestrial mudskippers have pouches like marsupials to store and transport eggs until their eventual hatch, with the father carrying eggs like in seahorses.

So this is part 2 of this post, if yall wanna give it a read for context.
In this post, I’ll be talking about how Color’s physical disability of having only one eye would influence how he interacts with his special interests in photography and travel.
As well as how his PTSD, autism, chronic fatigue, and separation anxiety from Killer could also affect things.
With one eye, Color might have reduced depth perception, which could make it challenging to gauge distances accurately. He might rely more on autofocus features, practice to enhance his spatial awareness, or use techniques like focus stacking for precise shots.
He might prefer using cameras with electronic viewfinders (EVF) or live view screens rather than optical viewfinders, which could be more challenging to use with one eye. Adjusting camera settings and composing shots via a larger display would be easier.
He might develop unique framing and composition techniques, leveraging his perspective creatively. Color could take extra time to ensure his shots are well-composed, possibly using grid overlays or other aids to help with alignment.
Customizing camera gear to suit his needs, such as using tripods, stabilizers, or remote controls, to help steady the camera and compose shots more comfortably.
He might spend additional time in post-processing to correct any minor misalignments or issues that arise from the reduced depth perception during the shooting process.
For travel, navigating unfamiliar places might require more caution, especially in crowded or complex environments. He might use mobility aids, rely on GPS and mapping apps, or travel with companions to ensure safety.
Color could engage in meticulous planning to minimize unexpected challenges, such as researching accessible routes, accommodations, and transportation options.
Color might use his experiences and perspective to connect with others, sharing how his disability influences his travel and photography, fostering understanding and empathy.
Developing strategies to cope with the physical demands of travel, such as pacing himself, taking regular breaks, and prioritizing destinations or activities that are less physically demanding.
His unique perspective could inspire him to create compelling stories or advocacy pieces about accessibility in travel and photography, raising awareness and inspiring others with disabilities.
Embracing his distinct view of the world, his photography could offer unique perspectives that stand out, turning his perceived limitation into an artistic advantage.
He might become involved in communities focused on accessible travel and photography, sharing tips, experiences, and inspiring others with similar challenges.
Autism and chronic fatigue would likely significantly impact Color’s ability to engage with his special interests in photography and travel.
In photography, chronic fatigue would necessitate careful energy management. Color might plan shorter, more focused photography sessions and prioritize rest to avoid burnout.
Streamlining his workflow, from setting up equipment to post-processing, to conserve energy. This could include using presets in editing software or organizing his gear for easy access.
He could chose photography locations that are easily accessible and require minimal physical exertion. He might also prefer locations close to home or base to reduce travel time and energy expenditure.
He would likely use ightweight equipment to reduce physical strain, possibly investing in high-quality but compact cameras and lenses. He might also use monopods or lightweight tripods for additional support.
Autism can come with sensory sensitivities. Color might choose quieter, less crowded locations for photography and use noise-canceling headphones or other tools to manage sensory overload.
With travel, he’d have to pace himself. Planning travel with built-in downtime to rest and recharge. He might avoid overly ambitious itineraries and allow for flexible scheduling to accommodate his energy levels.
He’d probably chose ccommodations that are comfortable, quiet, and accessible, ensuring he has a safe space to retreat to when needed.
He’d prefer modes of transportation that offer comfort and minimal stress, such as direct flights, train travel, or driving. He might also opt for private or semi-private tours to control the pace and environment.
Keeping up with healthcare needs, including regular check-ups, medication management, and any necessary accommodations. He might also carry a travel health kit tailored to his specific needs.
He’d combine photography with travel in a way that maximizes enjoyment and minimizes strain. For example, he might focus on travel photography during the golden hours (early morning and late afternoon) when conditions are optimal, and the rest of the day can be used for rest.
Creating content that reflects his experiences with autism and chronic fatigue, such as blogs, vlogs, or social media posts. This can help raise awareness and provide valuable insights to others with similar challenges.
Engaging with communities of autistic travelers and photographers to share experiences, tips, and support. This can provide a sense of camaraderie and practical advice tailored to his needs.
Establishing routines that provide predictability and reduce stress. This might include having a consistent photography and travel routine, preparing for trips well in advance, and creating checklists.
Practicing mindfulness or relaxation techniques to manage stress and sensory overload. This can help maintain focus and calm, particularly in challenging environments.
Utilizing assistive technologies, such as apps for energy tracking, sensory-friendly gear, or digital tools that aid in planning and organization.
Color’s PTSD from solitary confinement and isolation in the Void, combined with his separation anxiety towards Killer, can create a complex situation that both challenges and shapes his engagement in traveling and photography.
Color’s need to stay on the move due to PTSD makes traveling appealing, as it provides a sense of freedom and escape from confinement. However, this constant movement could also become exhausting and anxiety-inducing if it lacks purpose or stability.
His separation anxiety towards Killer might lead him to seek Killer’s company while traveling. Traveling with Killer could provide a sense of security and reduce his anxiety, but it also means his travel plans would need to align with Killer’s availability and willingness to join him.
Color might need to carefully plan his travels to ensure he has safe and familiar places to stay, reducing the unpredictability that could trigger his PTSD. Having a structured itinerary could help him feel more in control and less anxious.
Traveling to new and unfamiliar places might sometimes trigger memories of his isolation, especially if he encounters situations that remind him of the Void. He would need to find a balance between exploring new places and ensuring his mental well-being.
Photography could serve as a therapeutic outlet, allowing Color to process and express his emotions through capturing images. It might help him make sense of his experiences and provide a way to externalize his trauma.
Color might be drawn to photographing subjects that reflect his internal state or provide a sense of solace. He could focus on themes like freedom, movement, and connection, finding meaning and healing in his work.
Having Killer around while engaging in photography could provide comfort and reduce his anxiety. Killer might even become a frequent subject in Color’s photos, symbolizing their bond and mutual support.
Color might need to develop strategies to manage his anxiety while photographing, such as taking breaks, grounding exercises, or having a trusted companion like Killer present. This would help him stay focused and engaged in his special interest.
The mutual separation anxiety between Color and Killer could strengthen their bond, as they rely on each other for emotional support. This bond could provide Color with the stability he needs to engage in his interests.
Color would need to balance his need for movement and exploration with Killer’s needs and limitations. They might develop a mutual understanding and compromise, ensuring both their well-being while pursuing their interests.
Color might prefer traveling to places where he can easily find comfort and familiarity, such as visiting friends or known locations. This reduces the stress of the unknown and helps him stay grounded.
Establishing routines or rituals while traveling and photographing can provide a sense of stability. For example, always starting the day with a specific activity or having regular check-ins with Killer can help Color manage his anxiety.
They might have frequent phone calls if Killer ever can’t join Color on his travels, at particular times of the day.
I can see Color sticking to this routine at the exact time and getting anxious and worried if Killer doesn’t call or pick up, which is likely to happen at some point simply because he has memory issues and sticking to routine is hard for him. But Color, at least for a bit, is likely to assume the worse.
Color might also keep a photograph of him and all his friends close by on his person. (I also like to think that Delta made his camera, he keeps some of Beta’s drawings with him, and also he’s memorized the recipe for Epic’s chocolate cookies.)
If he and Killer have already had their wedding by this point, he’d likely keep his ring close and near. Perhaps kissing it before bed, and fidgeting with it becomes a new comforting stim.
Over time, engaging in his special interests despite his PTSD and anxiety can help Color build resilience. Each successful trip or photography session can boost his confidence and reinforce his ability to cope with challenges.
Color might find deeper meaning in his travels and photography by using them as tools for healing and connection. Documenting his journey and sharing it with others can create a sense of purpose and community.

Please send help y’all, I watched the 4 episode Bad Batch arc in Clone Wars today and the first 7 episodes of season one again. Gotta develop that working memory for ficcing purposes, after all, and since I’ve only seen the show once through I have a lot of braining to do XD
Random observations this time around:
It’s just so stupid cool when Crosshair uses Tech’s shoulder as a tripod, wordlessly, just to make an awesome shot to a flying lizard. Just… Crosshair casually using his brothers to pull off sick shots is adorable and I love it
That shit Crosshair does with the little reflectors in the hallway, killing like dozens of droids with one shot? To Wrecker’s absolute despair at not smashing the most droids? Like, fanning myself over here. While I have no intention of shipping the clones with anyone I reserve the right to have crushes on them for myself 😂
That damn knife thing when they’re taking on the live fire battle droids on Kamino. Just, damn. Okay, Crosshair, you really were hot shit!
In general the clear communication between the Batch, the amazing movement between each other as a team, was such a thing of beauty to see before it all went to absolute hell.
I forgot the stuffed animal was Wrecker’s before it was Omega’s, my heart ;_;
Fuck I’ve forgotten how much I miss and love Tech. It’s so not fair. It’s so not fair! And he better not be a brainwashed CX trooper! ;_; I absolutely love the fact that he just went around recording ambient sounds as a hobby.
Wrecker and Crosshair’s chips just absolutely breaking my heart over there. I remain pissed that taking screen caps through DisneyPlus is impossible on mobile. I managed to take an awful cap of my extremely dirty iPad screen for drawing reference, but even though it looks terrible it still hurts so bad.

Rewatching the show hits different because I already know and love all the Batchers now, and empathize with Crosshair even when I just want to save him from himself.
We’ll see how much more of S1/S2 I can get through this week!

FAQ + About (for mobile)
About me: My name is Milli (she/her), 25yrs. I love taking photos of nature and my Subaru. I’m a huge nerd about mushrooms, plants, and skulls. I’ve been hiking ever since I was a little kid and at this point I feel at home in the woods.
I have a flock of chickens, a boyfriend, a dog, and waaay too many house plants

What camera gear would you recommend for a beginner?
Before you worry too much about getting the best gear, make sure you learn how to use it first. You could go out and buy the fanciest camera and lenses and still not take good photos because you don’t know how to use your camera or how to “see”. There’s also a saying, “you marry your lenses and date your bodies”. Invest in good lenses, preferably full frame compatible ones in case you ever decide to upgrade to full frame, and get a cheaper body to start. With that out of the way…
If you’re just starting out, I’d recommend getting a refurbished or used camera from the D7100+ line. They’ve come down in price as of late and are pretty solid cameras. Just make sure to check the shutter count.
I’d skip anything from the D3000 & D5000 lines. They’re not bad cameras but they do not have built in autofocus meaning they rely on the lens itself having autofocus. This isn’t horrible but it does limit what lenses you can use (and some of the lenses that won’t autofocus with those cameras are good AND cheap) and that can be confusing for a beginner.
As for a lens, a 50mm f/1.8, or 35mm f/1.8 is a great lens. Both lenses are inexpensive, have good quality glass, and can used for nearly everything. The 18-55mm lens that comes with cameras isn’t bad either.
I don’t shoot Canon/Sony/whatever else so I can’t give any advice there sorry!
How did you learn to take photos?
LOTS of practice, I first picked up a camera back in 2013. In high school and college I took photography classes but ultimately I didn’t really learn much from them, they started at too basic of a level.
I did learn a lot about photography from taking art classes however. They taught me framing, how to use shadows/light, and movement in a photo (where does your eye travel when you view an image/art piece). My mom is also a professional photojournalist so I picked up some knowledge from her and my grandfather who’s also a published photographer.
How can I take better photos?
Again, lots of practice. Learn what every setting and button on your camera does, try different shooting modes, take the same photo at several different apertures and shutter speeds to see what changes. You can learn a lot from reading articles too but the best way to learn, imo, is by doing. Don’t worry about getting the best gear and the best camera, learn how to take photos first.
Study other photographers photos, and even paintings, and see what you like. Pay attention to directional lines and where your eye travels. Learn how to use Photoshop/Lightroom (just pirate it). Take photos in different weather, lighting, and times of day.
What programs do you use to edit? What presets/filters do you use?
I use Lightroom and Photoshop Classic along with custom presets that I’ve made for different situations (fog, snow, etc) to process most of my images and then I make minor tweaks. A lot of my presets started as VSCO presets and then I kept the things I liked and changed the things I didn’t.
What is your job?
I’m a real estate photographer specializing in short term rentals. I love it.
Are you related to Eddie Vedder?
Yep, we’re very distantly related. Something like 7th cousins twice removed but I’ve never met him.
Can you add a photo to your print shop?
Sure! Just tell me the name of the photo (or link it if possible, I reuse a lot of names) you want added and I’ll get it up there.
May I use one of your photos?
I’m 100% ok with people using my photos as a reference for drawing/painting, I’d even love to see the result. For anything else, just shoot me an ask beforehand and I’ll let you know. Please do not repost my photos on Tumblr or elsewhere without my permission.
