Hey, do you know if any of the yellowjackets (adult and teen) wears cozy jackets/coat or windbreakers?

I already know about the Misty one, this L.L bean windbteaker is one of my most prized posessions ;)

I think a lot of the characters have jackets that look comfy but I don’t really know for sure as I’ve never worn nor felt most of them. I have a few of the hoodies and a coat though so I figured I’d review those for you in case you find that helpful!

Lottie’s I Love H81 faux fur coat:

This coat is the warmest of all the Yellowjackets outerwear I have and would be good if you live in a colder climate. It doesn’t have a ton of stretch so it does have the potential to limit some of your mobility (if you have experience wearing a leather jacket you might use that as a frame of reference but it’s not that extreme). The fur isn’t super soft but it’s not bad, though if you don’t like the feeling of hair on your neck this would probably irritate you if you wore it for a long period of time.

Natalie’s "UO Yogi Fleece Cropped Zip-Up Hoodie Sweatshirt”:

I love this hoodie. I think it’s so soft and comfortable plus it’s pretty thick too so it’s nice and warm. It’s great to just throw on and has a loose fit. Natalie wears a grey hoodie but it comes in lots of different colors so theres lots of options if you’re not a fan of the grey. The fact that it’s cropped though might be a deal breaker for some but I’m short so it fits me fine (if you don’t like wearing cropped clothes I wouldn’t recommend this because it is pretty cropped).

Lottie’s American Eagle "Women's Oversized Button-Up Shacket”:

This is a nice hoodie that is pretty soft and comfortable. It’s not as thick as Natalie’s hoodie but it’s not too light. It is longer in length so it’s a good option for those who like things that aren’t cropped plus it’s pretty big so it has a lot of room (I actually got one a size smaller so that it would fit better under the fur coat Lottie has). I think it would be especially nice to wear in the spring and fall.

The Yellowjackets’s Holloway "Argon Hoodie":

I think this is a pretty standard hoodie. It also isn’t cropped so it’s nice for those who like a longer jacket. It feels like every other polyester sports hoodie I’ve felt before (slightly itchy) but the inside is pretty soft which I think is really nice. It was hard for me to find one so I ended up with a kids XL but it fits me fine (I generally wear a women’s S/M top for reference).

Misty’s “Uniqlo Windproof Outer Fleece Jacket”:

While I don’t have this one, one of the listings I saw of it on Poshmark specifically said it was “cute, soft, and cozy.” If you take that statement at face value it seems it might fit the criteria of what you’re looking for.

I do have a couple of the flannels and some of the close match jackets if you want me to review those too but I didn’t know if they counted so I didn’t include them in the post. Just let me know if you’re interested though and I’ll review them as well.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of Marvel Premiere #19, featuring the first appearance of Colleen Wing! On this day in 1974, nineteen-year-old Danny Rand emerged from the Meachum office building, shaken and directionless. He has just spared the life of the man he has dreamed of killing for ten years, only to watch him die at the hands of someone else. And he has watched Joy Meachum, believing that Danny murdered her father, embark down the dark path of her own revenge quest (this issue also marks the first appearance of Joy's conniving uncle, Ward). Danny is stranded away from his beloved K'un-Lun, with nowhere to go and no idea what to do next. It's at this point, as he walks alone onto the rainy nighttime street, that a mysterious figure approaches him.

Marvel Premiere #19 by Doug Moench, Larry Hama, Jan Brunner, Dick Giordano, and Ray Holloway

With a screech of brakes that you can almost hear, the story shifts direction as the woman we will come to know as Colleen Wing grabs the wheel. She isn't interested in his revenge quest or the fact that he's just been framed for murder, and she does not take the time to explain anything-- she just tells Danny his outfit is ridiculous and then stops just short of physically dragging him into a cab. She's a woman on a mission, and it works: while Danny has no reason at all to trust her or follow her, he does, obviously stunned into silent compliance by the whole experience. It's a memorable introduction for a character who has made her own powerful sword-slash of a mark on the Marvel Universe in the half-century since this scene first hit stands.

This issue also introduces Colleen's father, and once in the taxi, Colleen takes a bit of a backseat as he becomes the focus of the story. Professor Lee Wing is an Indiana Jones-style archeologist with an interest in Asian folklore and the mystic city of K'un-Lun, and he has sent his daughter to fetch Danny because he knows who Danny is, knew where he would appear, and needs his help. Colleen herself remains a bit more of a mystery, and fades out of the narrative as Danny talks with Professor Wing and then goes off to try (unsuccessfully) to clear things up with Joy Meachum. Colleen shares very little about herself; she tells Danny that her profession is "irrelevant"-- the revelation of her combat prowess and heroes for hire business with Misty Knight, Nightwing Restorations, is saved for a future issue, and her samurai lineage will not be established for a little while yet. But this first issue marks only the start of her journey toward cementing her presence as an important character within the martial arts side of Marvel, and beyond.

okay so silas holloway used to be a chemist/herbalist on the east coast but then in 1816 (the year without a summer, a real thing, horrible storms and freezing temperatures all year) he tried to head west and met this guy (not 100% on his name yet, taking suggestions) at an inn and hit it off so they decided it was safer to travel together and eventually they were low on supplies and stuck in a little cave for shelter and running out of food so they went crazy and fought and his... lowkey boyfriend. uhh beat him to death and then ate him :/ so now he's a ghost and does a lot of weird medical experiments in a supernatural western town (goldwater, run by my dear friend @dykebeckett)

so he can like interact with stuff normally if he chooses to be able to touch / be touched, but I had the idea that maybe he has a little dagger tucked into his belt that gets sort of ethereal and misty the further it gets from him and eventually disappears and reappears in his belt, and that he had that dagger the whole time but never reached for it when actively being killed because he loved the other guy too much to even think about really hurting him.

Since you had worked late the night before, you were able to finish up work at noon. Jake had stayed with you the whole time and really enjoyed feeding the animals and helping.

The two of you walk out to your truck and Jake looks at you.

"I had a really good time this morning. Thank you," he says as he opens your car door and helps you in and you look at him.

"You're welcome," you reply as you move a piece of loose hair out of your eyes.

You could feel your heart start to beat faster as Jake's face started to get closer.

"Dr. Holloway!" a female voice yells and the two of you separate as you see Misty run out of the building. Jake walks around and gets in on the passenger side as you talk to Misty.

"What's up?" You asked, slightly relieved to be out of the kissing range.

"There's a message for you," Misty says and hands you a piece of paper. "Some guy," Misty adds after you take the paper.

"Thank you, Misty. See you in a couple of days." 'Seriously. You couldn't just hold onto this message?' your mind asks itself.

Misty smiles and then looks at Jake through your truck windows. "No problem. See you then." She takes off back into the building and you get into your truck.

"You're not going to read the message?" Jake asks as you fold the paper and put it on your console holder.

"Nah. I'm not at work."

He looks at you, a charming yet sexy grin on his face. "And what are you going to do this afternoon?"

"Do you really want to know?"

The two of you look into each other's eyes intensely.

"Yes," he replies.

You look away and start your truck. "Get some more sleep." You look at him briefly and see the look of shock on his face. "Did you need me to drop you off some place?"

He sits back and rubs his fingers through his hair. A look of trying to act not surprised on his face. "Uhm, yeah. You can drop me off at my place."

"Great. What's the address?"

When you walked into your apartment, Finley comes out of her bedroom. "What are you doing home?" she asks surprised.

"Hi to you too," you respond.

"You're supposed to be..."

"Out with Jake?" You finish the sentence for her.

"Maybe?" she says raising a questioning eyebrow.

"I can't believe you tried that," you say as you walk to the refrigerator for a bottle of water.

"Come on, Y/N. Live a little."

You take the bottle out of the fridge, open it and take a drink. "Trust me. I am. The Lifeguard competition is next weekend. Tomorrow is my last day of training. I need some rest."

"I'm sure Jake would help you with that."

You side eye her. "Not that kind of rest." You grab the message you left on the island along with your keys and open it up. You freeze and turn white.

"Y/N? Are you okay?" Finley asks as she cautiously walks up to you.

You shake your head, tear up the note, and throw it into the trash. "Yeah. I'm fine."

Finley raises and eyebrow. "You sure?"

"Yeah. I'm going to go lay down." You walk to your bedroom.

Javy 'Coyote' Machado lets out a loud laugh. "The almighty Hangman was rejected! I never thought I'd see this day."

Jake walks around the pool table. "Seriously. Am I losing my touch?" He leans over the pool table to take his shot.

"Maybe Finley can answer that questions since she just walked in," Javy said as Finley walked over to him and he placed a kiss on her lips.

"What question?" Finley asks.

"Why your friend rejected my buddy here," Javy replies as he points at Jake.

"Oh, that's easy. She needed to get some rest. The Lifeguard competition is next weekend and tomorrow is her last day of training."

Jake looked at Finley. "What? Lifeguards compete?"

"Oh, yeah. It's a big thing around here. This is Y/N's first time, so she's been really training. She's usually at the gym or swimming or jogging at the beach."

Javy looked shocked and Jake was like: What the fuck?

"Are you serious?" Jake asks. "She's an aquatic veterinarian, a lifeguard, a rescue diver and she also competes?" He says counting his fingers.

Finley shrugs. "There's probably more, but I don't want to scare you off."

"Oh, I'm not scared."

Javy looks at him. "You sure?"

Jake looks at him. "You may be."

"I'm also not saying that she'll be at the Coronado Lifeguard station at 8 in the morning, but she will be."

The Uninvited (1944)

A haunting often involves a tragic event playing out time and again, a pageant performed for unwitting guests in a home or other space by spirits who cannot find resolution in their loss.  In The Uninvited, Windward House in Cornwall plays host to a whole soap opera’s worth of ghostly melodrama.  Life in this small town proves a tangled web of intrigue as new homeowners Rick and Pamela Fitzgerald (siblings not a married couple) work to piece together the house’s sordid past that is prompting ghostly happenings each night.  What is Commander Beech hiding in his stiff upper lip silence on the abode?  How does the extremely sapphic nurse Miss Holloway factor into matters given her extreme devotion to Mary Meredith, who passed away so many years ago?  Who is this devious Carmel?  It turns into the wildest episode of Who Do You Think You Are in history as young Stella Meredith finds herself drawn to the home and its history.  

Falling into a similar vein as Alfred Hitchcock’s Rebecca, this haunting gothic tale is swathed in rich chiaroscuro, all candlelight and long shadows.  Simple elements define the haunting: ghostly laughter heard before the dawn, the scent of mimosa perfume, a clammy sense of dread in Rick’s studio.  Occasionally there are more bravura moments of shock and awe as a wine glass moves of its own accord or the pages of a medical journal ruffle to find the right entry.  The most gonzo effect comes with the apparition of Mary Meredith herself, a misty, gauzy optical effect which meshes relatively well with the rest of the image.  Complimenting the film was Victor Young’s atmospheric score, helmed by the soon-to-be jazz standard “Stella by Starlight,” which I hadn’t realized came from this film.
