Fuck it I’m ranking the state tourism logos
Tumblr media
Alabama: looks like a button. Based Skynyrd reference. Serviceable, but boring. 5/10
Arkansas: looks like a brand of like pet food or some shit. 3/10
Florida: I live here and let me tell you you should not VisitFlorida. I like the little wave-y thing though. 4/10
Mississippi: all judgements on the state aside, the interlocking S-rings is a really cool design. 7.5/10
Tennessee: pretty good. Standard, but nothing wrong with it. 6/10
Virginia: what does this even mean. I’m so confused by it it makes me want to call the tourism office to ask some questions so it does its job pretty well I guess. 6/10
Arizona: the only thing that makes this not shit is the little thing above “Arizona”. Pick up your fucking game Arizona. 3.5/10
New Mexico: I knew I could count on the state with one of the coolest flags. This is fucking interesting. Discovery. Adventure. Pots. 8/10
Colorado: I love Colorado. If you ever have a chance to visit red rocks or Grand Junction you should. The natural landscape is breathtaking. So I’m confused on why they didn’t USE ANY OF IT. 2/10
Idaho: it’s pretty good. It’s cool when you look at it but you forget it the second you look away. Just like the state. 6/10
Montana: hell yeah get that red dead ass font over here. 7/10
Georgia: peach. good font choice. 6/10
Kentucky: pretty interesting. Cool slogan too. 6.5/10
Louisiana: fuck yeah. It’s just a cool font but that’s all it needs to be baby. 7.5/10
North Carolina: dogshit. what the fuck is this guys. 0/10
South Carolina: love the palm tree and moon design but its kinda gated community-ish. 5/10
West Virginia: mountain mama. 4/10
Oklahoma: looks kinda like a clothing brand that overcharges on t shirts. 4/10
Texas: this is like something sewn into the side of my jeans. 6/10
Utah: tractor supply ass font. 5/10
Wyoming: YEEEEEE-HAW! 10/10
Oregon: what is that even. A tree? Whatever. 2/10
Indiana: eh. 3/10
Ohio: what does that mean Ohio. People don’t think of perfect balance when they think of you. I like the first “O” though. 5/10
Nebraska: I kinda like this one. But I don’t know why. I know it’s not great. But I also don’t care. 6.5/10
Missouri: dude the s’s(esses?) are River banks! Nice! 7.5/10
Iowa: Iowa what’s with your W. 2/10
Illinois: creative way to say “our state feels like it lasts forever but that’s only because most of it is empty”. 5.5/10
Wisconsin: that’s just a bumper sticker. 3/10
New Hampshire: really charming actually. I like the little houses. I AM going to love it there! 8/10
Massachusetts: kinda laughing over the slogan. Nice font though. 6.5/10
Connecticut: if you pronounce it the way the logo is emphasizing “connect” you would be mispronouncing the state. For those unaware, Connecticut is pronounced “kin-NET-ih-cuht”. Crazy right. 4/10
Maine: must it, though? 2/10
Rhode Island: there’s not much to this, but I FUCKING LOVE NAUTICAL DESIGNS. 8/10
Nevada: honestly super into this one. Simple, elegant, interesting. 9/10
California: this looks like the logo for a water bottle. 1/10
Washington: bold move to not have the name of your state in your tourism logo. Stupid, but bold. It does sound funny to say “experience wa” though. 4/10
Kansas: I have no idea how big Kansas is so this is false. 5/10
Michigan: another water bottle. 2/10
Minnesota: I like the blue and green together, and the font is nice. 6/10
North Dakota: Fuck. Yes. 10/10
South Dakota: it’s Six Grandfathers, it’s the Black Hills. Fuck Mount Rushmore. Great design though. 8/10
New Jersey: “oh you want our tourism logo? Here you go asshole I made it in four minutes”. Peak Jersey. 6/10
New York: a classic design but one I’m not a fan of. 5/10
Pennsylvania: this looks like the logo for an elementary school. A bougie elementary school. 3/10
Vermont: I do love me some mountains. 6/10
Delaware: come on Delaware that’s Florida’s boring logo. 3/10
Maryland: fuck yeah fly that medieval ass flag proud. Looks like a logo for cans of cat food though. 7/10
Alaska: MORE MOUNTAINS?! Great design, very simplistic. 7.5/10
Hawaii: fuck yeah put that apostrophe back in there. Love the colors on this bitch. 8/10

What happens when you can’t keep your promises...?
Time; or circumstance; makes liars of us all.
We can try to get around it by clever wordplay, vagueness, doublespeak. We can make only make promises we're certain of, or have very high chances of success. But what happens when life intervenes? What happens when there's nothing left; no effort, no energy, no struggle or self-awareness; to fuel the promise and fulfill it? What happens when, despite all your best efforts and time and perhaps even money thrown at the problem, you can't do what you said you were going to?
These are the questions that have been plaguing me the past few weeks. Since I got back from Minnesota, really. I've made quite a number of promises in the past year and there's a few very sticky ones that I can't seem to fulfill; and not through lack of trying. See, I promised my boyfriend that I'd be looking for work before I even went to see him in June. I promised him that I'd be looking, and that I would find a job, so I could help him; and Sir; to get out of the mounting money issues that have been threatening on the horizon.
Surgery isn't cheap. Health isn't cheap. Rent, food, medical bills, student loans, credit card debt, none of it comes cheaply. Why should I be the only one not pulling my weight in that arena...? Especially when it was; primarily; my poly heart leading the charge to date, and our shared past that led me back into Ry’s arms.
See, being the stay-at-home is one thing when it's just you and one other partner. It can be balanced pretty well even in this day and age of multiple jobs and double mortgages if your partner has a decent job and you're not very high maintenance. Well. It turns out that in addition to being "high maintenance" despite my best efforts; *no one plans for a cancer scare or that many surgeries in that short an amount of time!*; a long distance relationship takes quite a bit of time and effort to maintain. And more money than we initially suspected.
So, the easiest option is that I start working. It's logical, it's mentally sound, and it's only reasonable. Except that my cocktail of mental health issues don't seem to agree. A few good years with the dysphoria and depression might have made me shortsighted. It's been nearly eighteen months since my last breakdown after all! I shouldn't live in fear of my triggers or hide in the house. All of this was true, until yesterday. My first breakdown in a year and a half, and it was a depression and dysphoria-induced emotional rant that left two of us in tears and one trying to find the best road out and back to stability.
What happens when you can't keep your promises?
You can be mad at yourself. Angry, and bitter, that you're not "normal." That life, for some reason, seems to have hit the Hard Mode option when it comes to you. You can bitch and complain, and some of that might even be healthy. Bottling your emotions only leads to explosions later on down the line.
You can cry about it. Mourn for everything that could have been, *if only.* But "if only" doesn't satisfy the creditors, and it certainly doesn't make that mountain any smaller. But then again, tears are an emotional release valve. All they really are is your body telling you "hey, you're feeling a lot right now. Release it, and then take a good hard look at what's going on." They're sort of a check-engine light of emotions.
You can try not to be what's causing the problem. But castigating yourself over an accident of birth or circumstance isn't going to fix it, and trying not to have PTSD, anxiety, depression, or "not being trans" will actively make it worse.
You can do the thing in spite of every emotional and mental flag waving at you saying "don't do the thing." Because you promised, and you hold yourself to be an honorable person. Because you gave your word and you keep it because that's what honorable men do. Because you're tired of offering what feel like excuses even though there's very good medical reasons not to do the thing.
There isn't a good answer. There isn't a safe, comfortable, reasonable response when your heart and your brain are at war with each other. When doing the thing you promised to do means forcibly misgendering yourself, dealing with an unkind and uncaring public, and setting you back with regards to dysphoria while you live in a state that doesn't allow you to amend your paperwork and makes HRT a pain in the ass to get.... even if you had the money to throw at the problem. Which is where this whole mess began in the first place.
What happens when you can't keep your promises...?
You explain yourself as best you can. You make no excuses and lay everything at the feet of the people you gave your word to. You offer them the truth of you, and you hope they understand. You hope they forgive you, and that eventually you can get the help you require to make all those issues and roadblocks if not go away, lesser.
Like Sir said, you can't handwave your emotions and you can't just ignore your mental health when you make promises. You can't give your word based on an idealized world.
Mostly, what happens when you can't keep your promises I've found, is that the other honorable people in your life pull you in closer instead of pushing you away, and do their best to help you do better in the future. They let you put the effort down for a little while, go through all that emotional release, and pick it up again when you're ready. And, in the meantime, do their best to figure out how to help. Whether that's not asking the impossible, or being realistic themselves in what's really possible in our non-idealized world.
We're only human. Even honorable men forget that sometimes.

RTARL’s 2020 NFL Season Week 2 Extravapalooza
Tumblr media
The first week of (mostly) fanless pandemic pro football is in the books, and I’ve gotta say it was nice having it back. Unplugging the part of my brain that’s constantly hooked into the increasingly volatile and relentlessly shitty state of our society to watch these guys run fast and hit hard was a welcome respite, for me, anyway. I was fully expecting offenses to be sloppy and rhythm-less given the lack of preseason action, but last week actually saw the most total Week 1 touchdowns in the history of the league. Clearly, I know what I’m talking about when it comes to football.
My picks are in BOLD, and the lines come to us courtesy of our friends at Vegas Insider. I use the “VI Consensus” line, which is the line that occurs most frequently across Vegas Insider’s list of sportsbooks. Your sportsbook of choice may offer a different number, and if you’d like my opinion on said number A) you are insane, and B) leave a comment below and I’ll try to answer at some point before things kickoff today.
Tumblr media
EARLY GAMES
New York Giants at Chicago Bears (-5.5)
I liked Daniel Jones going into last week’s game and I like him more coming out of it, which is kind of weird considering the Giants lost and he threw a pair of interceptions. But, he had Steelers in his face all game long and he never looked rattled. I think he’ll be good. It should be noted that I probably said the same thing verbatim about Mitchell Trubisky a couple of years ago, and look how he’s turning out!
Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys (-3)
The Falcons could beat any team or lose to any team and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest. This makes for a consistently entertaining viewing experience, but it’s a bitch when trying to make a pick for a widely-read and influential blog series. The Cowboys looked like a plate of steamed assholes last week against the Rams and I’m hoping that continues throughout the season. Not because I have anything against the Cowboys, I just enjoy a good steamed asshole.
Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (-6)
This pains me because I truly want good things for Matthew Stafford. But, with Kenny Golladay out again, and a defense that last week allowed Mitchell Trubisky to mount a furious comeback, it’s hard to see Detroit keeping this within a TD. I think the only narrative powerful enough to deny Russell Wilson the MVP award would be an Aaron Rodgers spite-fueled return to dominance. Which, if the first game was any indication, seems like a possibility.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans (-7.5)
This 7.5 is so damn disrespectful. The Jags beat the Colts last week! The Titans are going to be without last year’s breakout WR AJ Brown for this one, and their second best receiver, Corey Davis, has been dealing with a hamstring issue. Derrick Henry is awesome, but if the other team knows he’s your only option on offense they can probably (somewhat) bottle him up.
Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-8.5)
We’ve got a guy who refuses to throw the ball more than 15 yards down the field versus a guy who can’t. EXCITING. Tampa’s defense looked very formidable in a loss last week, and I expect Christian McCaffery to have a ton of catches for not-very-many yards. It’ll probably take Tom Brady and the rest of the Buccaneers offense a couple more weeks to find their footing, so this one feels like a low-scoring grind to me. Now that I think about it, the Tampa Bay QB being a Grinder is perfect, actually.
via GIPHY
Minnesota Vikings at Indianapolis Colts (-3)
It’ll be fascinating to watch Philip Rivers and Kirk Cousins battle to see who can make the most backbreaking mistake imaginable. You know what? That’s a lie. Nothing about this game is fascinating. These are two reasonably competent teams expected to be playoff contenders, but for some reason the thought of watching a single second of this feels me with a terrible combination of anger and dread.
Buffalo Bills (-5.5) at Miami Dolphins
I think the Dolphins are better than what they showed last week, and the Bills benefitted from getting to beat up on the horrific Jets. I still think the Bills will win by using Josh Allen in the same way that New England deployed Cam Newton so successfully against the Fins last week, but Ryan Fitzpatrick won’t be THAT bad again. Maybe.
San Francisco 49ers (-7) at New York Jets
An angry Niners team fresh off a loss coming to play a talent-starved Jets team run by an inept douche whose players hate him? This line could’ve been twice as high and I’d still have taken San Fran.
Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles (-1.5)
The lack of crowd noise probably makes it much easier for Sean McVay to tell Jared Goff where to throw the ball on every play, so I’m expecting the Rams to be a legit contender this season. I think the Eagles are in real trouble and I’m truly baffled by what’s happened to Carson Wentz. He was so good in their Super Bowl season! The beleaguered Philly O-line gets Lane Johnson back, which should certainly help. Unfortunately, they’re up against Aaron Donald and the rest of the Rams monstrous defensive front. Good luck, guys!
Denver Broncos at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5)
As a man who hates the Steelers it really bummed me out to see their defense so thoroughly wrecking shit in their opening game. Thoughts and prayers for Broncos QB Drew Lock, whose studly WR Courtland Sutton is iffy for this one with an injured AC joint. I've heard it takes awhile to trust an AC again after a separation.
Tumblr media
LATE GAMES
Washington Football Team at Arizona Cardinals (-7)
Washington was the only NFC East team to reach the 20-point mark in Week 1. What a crapass division. The Cardinals’ division is decidedly NOT crapass, and the teams in the NFC West are going to need to take care of business against their weak out-of-division opponents if they want to make the playoffs. I expect Calamari and the boys to do that today against a very feisty Football Team.
Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5) at Los Angeles Chargers
It’s tough to envision myself picking against Kansas City anytime soon. They are a goddamned Death Star at this point.
Baltimore Ravens (-7.5) at Houston Texans
Absolutely brutal for the Texans to have to start the season with the Chiefs/Ravens combo meal. I love DeShaun Watson with all of my heart and I’m glad he got mega-paid, but I think Houston might be in for a bit of a transistion period over the next season or two. BOB sucks and hopefully his eventual replacement can surround an all-world QB with the proper talent before it’s too late.
I don’t really have much to say about the Ravens other than that watching them usually brings me great joy these days. That statement coming out of my mouth would’ve been absolutely unthinkable prior to Lamar Jackson’s arrival.
SNF: New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks (-4)
For those who are unaware, I am a dreaded Patriots fan, and I couldn’t have been happier with Cam Newton’s debut. I don’t expect him to run the ball 15 (!) times in every game this year, but just the fact that he was feeling healthy enough to do it once was nice to see. While the QB run was effective last week, the Seahawks front seven is not the Dolphins front seven, and Cam is gonna have to throw to win. Can he do it? I truly don’t know, and I’ll be watching with my fingers crossed, hoping his arm has some of the old life left in it.
Seattle looked fantastic on offense last week, but it’s hard to say how much of it was legit and how much of it was due to the Falcons’ comically shitty defense. This week will be more of a test, for sure.
MNF: New Orleans Saints (-5.5) at Las Vegas Raiders
Michael Thomas is out for this game, which is a bummer. The fact that he manages to catch as many passes as he does when the entire opposing defense knows damn well he’s getting most of the targets is amazing. Get well soon, Michael. Another reason Thomas’ absence could negatively impact this game is that it may cause the Saints to use Taysom Hill more often, which means we will have to hear the announcers slobber over him even more than usual. Not great!
I’ve fallen into the habit of picking against the Raiders only for them to consistently play better than expected and cover the spread, if not win outright. Then, terrible thoughts about Jon Gruden maybe being a better coach than I give him credit for pop up in my mind, which pisses me off even more and causes me to pick against them again the next week out of spite. It’s a vicious cycle. SAINTS BY 3 TDS, GODDAMNIT!

These Pantry Labels Made by a Blogger in Minnesota Are Taking Over TikTok
Tumblr media
How simple, streamlined white stickers ended up in pantries across America
Before the pandemic, I never spent much time in my apartment’s tiny galley-style kitchen, preferring to dine out (or take out). Stay-at-home orders changed all of that. My refrigerator has never been more full, and while I’ve actually come to enjoy cooking, I found that recipes were taking twice as long as they should because of my overflowing spice cabinet. I’d sift through jars of turmeric and Everything But the Bagel blends, pushing past pumpkin-pie spice and paprika to search for garlic powder, only to realize I was out.
In the midst of my frustration, TikTok’s For You page, which seems to have an algorithm that knows me better than I do, surfaced an organizational video by Brooklyn-based blogger Teresa Caruso that details how she turned her “hot mess” of a spice cabinet into a pristine display. (Lest you think TikTok is just dancing teens, the #diy hashtag has nearly 40 billion views.) Caruso’s project seemed entirely doable, if a little time consuming. But the real sell for me was the streamlined white stickers she placed on each of her spice jars. Something clearly resonated with other people too: Her how-to has since been viewed over 3.4 million times.

Caruso first got the idea to revamp her cabinet after seeing a similar project by carpenter and blogger Jen Woodhouse on Pinterest. “My bottles were just multiplying — I’d buy things, forget them in the back of the cabinet, and all of a sudden was left with three huge bottles of crushed red pepper,” Woodhouse told me. She came across custom spice labels by Kim Negaard, a Minnesota graphic designer and blogger who runs Paper & Pear on Etsy. Woodhouse appreciated the stickers’ “clean, modern look,” as did her followers — after she posted about the undertaking on Instagram, she was inundated with requests for where she bought them.
While Etsy offers plenty of similarly spare spice labels by a host of sellers, Negaard’s designs are among the most popular — her minimalist and modern labels have over 2,300 reviews. When I got in touch with Negaard to learn more about her brand, she said the business was inspired by a personal need: A few years ago, in an effort to “reduce packaging waste and the environmental impact” of cooking, she and her husband started buying bulk spices at their local food co-op and storing them in old jars. But the upcycled containers lacked labels, and when she couldn’t find any options she liked, she decided to make her own. An Etsy shop soon followed.

And while TikTok has certainly boosted her fan base, she says she began noticing an uptick in business in February, just before the country went into lockdown. Suddenly, “there was this unique combination of people with extra time on their hands to tackle home projects who also couldn’t eat out,” she explains. Negaard says she and her husband are now operating at ten times the amount of sales compared to the end of 2019; from January to March 2020, sales were 3.5 times what they were during the same period last year.
The labels have experienced notoriety on other social-media platforms. Earlier this year, Domino highlighted organizer Shira Gill’s overhaul of a kitchen belonging to Identité Collective founder Anastasia Casey, and the resulting spice cabinet — featuring Negaard’s signature labels — has been regrammed and pinned hundreds of times. Negaard believes the design is so popular because “it’s something that photographs well and can easily create a visually satisfying before-and-after effect that both TikTok and Instagram thrive on,” she says.

It’s still January (why is January the longest month in the history of the world?!), so I’m still on an organization kick. I typically store my spices in a cool, dark place, but that’s not conducive to a pleasing instagram aesthetic, so I pulled them out just to snap a photo for you. #doitforthegram They’re going back into the dark closet pantry after this. . . . Casey told me that, though she loves her kitchen’s Paper & Pear labels, she believes the appeal of pantry overhauls on social media extends beyond some thoughtfully designed spice jars. “Those little moments of organization bring some calm to the storm and are a welcome mental break,” providing people with a small sense of accomplishment and control, Casey says. Adds professional organizer and Pinch of Help founder Brittani Allen, “The uniformity of the bottles and stickers eliminates just about all of the visual clutter of different spice bottles,” she says. “Our brain has less to process without all of the different packaging, which provides a calming effect every time you open your spice cabinet.” And these days, many of us welcome a little bit of calm anywhere we can find it.
Everything you need for your own TikTok-worthy spice cabinet
Tumblr media
Paper & Pear Modern Spice Labels
Negaard’s popular design even includes a label for my beloved Everything But the Bagel seasoning. But you can even fully customize the labels to fit your own spice collection.
Tumblr media
Container Store 6 oz. Glass Spice Bottle
Gill likes these 6-ounce bottles, which are larger than the average spice container, so they’ll fit an oversize jar of oregano or rosemary without causing you to throw away the extra.
Tumblr media
Acrylic Spice Rack Wall Mount Organizer
Caruso loves these acrylic shelves, which she installed onto her pantry wall. Another tip? “If you’re going to switch to uniform bottles, consider adding a small sticker to the bottom of the bottle with the expiration date,” she says.
Tumblr media
The Home Edit 9-Inch Lazy Susan
This lazy Susan, which both Allen and Gill recommend, allows you to see everything in your cabinet without sticking your arm all the way into the back corner.
Tumblr media
Trim-to-Fit Wooden Spice Drawer Storage Organizer Insert
Allen is a big fan of spice drawers, particularly if you can repurpose a junk drawer into a more functional space.

MPCA Water Monitoring
Water Monitoring
WICOLA’s early efforts in water monitoring began in 1993 with the taking of Secchi Disc readings in our lakes. WICOLA started partnering with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) in 2005 upon implementation of the Kawishiwi Watershed Monitoring Plan. The plan called for using the agency’s advanced Citizen Lake Monitoring Program (CLMP) protocols for volunteer monitoring.
Every summer, May through September, boats with 3 to 5 WICOLA volunteers, collect samples and take readings from specific, representative locations in our lakes. Currently samples are collected from 5 lakes encompassing 10 locations: White Iron (1 location), Farm (3 locations), Garden Lake (1 Location), plus Birch (3 locations) and Fall (2 locations) Lakes.  All sites were identified and selected by the MPCA. WICOLA conducts the water sampling while the MPCA provides technical support.
The Process Water monitoring is not difficult although certain procedures must be followed to ensure valid results. First the location is verified with latitude/longitude coordinates as specified by the MPCA on a GPS unit in order to sample the same locations each time. At each location volunteers take several readings and samples.
1. Water Sampling Water samples are collected into bottles at a depth of 2 Meters for laboratory analysis. The collected samples are sent to RMB Labs where the actual tests are conducted with results sent to the MPCA. Test results include: Total Phosphorus, Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen, Sulfate, and Chlorophyll A.
2. Sonde Readings A Sonde (or probe) is a specialized water quality monitoring instrument. Readings are conducted at the surface and then every meter throughout the water column down to the bottom and are recorded on a data sheet. Readings include:  Temperature, Dissolved Oxygen, Conductivity, and pH.
3. Secchi Secchi Disc is a circular disk 30 cm / 12” in diameter used to measure water transparency. The disc is mounted on a line and lowered slowly down in the water. The depth at which the disk is no longer visible is recorded and taken as a measure of the transparency of the water.
4. Invasive Species Invasive species tests are conducted at a depth of 15 to 20 feet. Water is collected in a specialized container with a magnifier and viewed on the surface to look for Spiny Water Fleas.
The Results
Collected water samples are submitted to RMB Labs (MPCA approved Lab) following MPCA protocols. RMB Labs sends the lab results to the MPCA which maintains the results in their data base. The data is available for public access on the MPCA website (see link below). The results of these sampling and monitoring efforts are used to identify long-term trends in water quality and to identify “impaired” waters under the federal Clean Water Act. The MPCA requires 10 years of continuous data before they will consider identifying any potential trends. The federal Clean Water Act requires states to identify and list polluted or “impaired” waters. A lake or stream is impaired if it fails to meet one or more of Minnesota’s water quality standards. Standards exist for pollutants such as nutrients or sediment, which are directly related to water transparency. When nutrients or sediment are high, water transparency is low.
Water transparency data collected by WICOLA volunteers are used to determine the “aquatic recreation assessment,” which describes how well a lake can support uses such as swimming, wading, and overall aesthetics. Using the total phosphorus (a nutrient), chlorophyll-a (depicts the abundance of algae), and Secchi depth (water clarity), the “Trophic Status,” or level of biological productivity, of the lake can be determined.
The 10 year average of Total Phosphorus (TP), Chlorophyll-a, and Secchi transparency values are indicators of nutrient richness of a lake. Nutrient richness ranges from “oligotrophic” which are lakes low in nutrients to “hypereutrophic” which are very nutrient-rich. Oligotrophic lakes are unlikely to produce undesirable algal blooms while eutrophic lakes are very nutrient rich and likely to produce unpleasant algal blooms.
The chart from MPCA (below) shows the results for White Iron Lake.
Tumblr media
We are lucky that the White Iron Chain of Lakes exhibits very good water quality. As an example, here is MPCA’s description of White Iron Lake’s overall condition: “Suitable for swimming and wading, with good clarity and low algae levels throughout the open water season. Concentrations of mercury in fish tissue exceed the water quality standard; for specific fish consumption advice refer to the Minnesota Department of Health website at:
www.health.state.mn.us/divs/eh/fish/eating/sitespecific.html
Results for all the sampling and monitoring are posted on the MPCA web page at where you can look up data on the White Iron Chain of Lakes as well as many other lakes in the state.
