Theory 3: The Potential Concept

(logged Nov 5th) On the Monday before October 31st, Gerard Way appeared on the podcast Carry The Fire, hosted by his long-time friend Dustin Kensrue. The podcast is about “the REALLY big questions”, according to Kensrue. There Gerard talk a lot about magick, witchcraft and his spirituality. He also talks about his meditation practices (Transcendental meditation) and ritual elements from pagan/folk religion. He mentions his wife (Lindsay Way) being into witchcraft, nature and biology. With that in mind, and the new aesthetic of the band’s graphic profile (the new logo, the mysterious symbols, the angel statue, the logo being called “merlin”, etc.) has led fans fans to believe that the (unconfirmed) potential album will have an occult, witchcraft/magick theme. My Chem has always been influenced by the occult (vampires, hell, the devil, etc.), but it’s likely that this “era” will be geared more towards witchcraft, wizards and spirituality, as this would make sense from the witchy aesthetic so far, and Gerard’s fascination with practicing magick at this moment. He seems very interested in nature and his connection to the universe, se that could be a potential lyrical theme, if we are to expect new songs.

(Note: I feel like the Gandalf from Mikey’s story is also a clue here)

People have also said that this reminds them of Paper Kingdom, the album MCR were apparently planning to do after Danger Days, where there apparently would be a witch/wizard character of some kind. Could we get Paper Kingdom or will we get something completely different?

Please let me know how you feel about this! What are your thoughts/opinions/theories? Also, please let me know if you feel like I missed something.

(Edit Nov 8th 2019: One of our followers were so kind to remind us that Gerard’s middle is Arthur, which coincides with King Arthur and Merlin. This could be a total coincidence, but it’s worth to mention another link to wizards, since we’re already talking about that.)

Mikey says it's time for sleep.

Since we both have ADHD like whoa, we're laughing about it. LOL, sleep.

I already have an entire fanfic episode running through my head.

My imagination is like the center of Mikey's mind crossed with Dimension X. Obviously more mature and thoughtful. I have uh issues with how he was portrayed in "Journey To The Center Of Mikey's Mind" but that is an entire thesis on its own haaah. Me and my fandom theses.
