Days 25-28 of TMNTtober2023

My version of The Sliver was honestly so fun to draw and color in. I might redesign his armor to not only look Samurai-like but actually take more inspiration from OG/Mirage Shredder. I think it’d be interesting to have him start out as some masked mutant that began fighting the Super-turtles before he’s unmasked and it devastates his sons so much that they couldn’t finish him off for so long.

Look at Mikey with his little trophies that he’s gonna most definitely rub in Raph’s face. He probably still does so for as long as he could. Ooh! I can’t wait to write the chapter with the rematch between him and Kluh. You’re not gonna believe how pissed Mikey gets when Kluh insinuates the kind of fate Isabella would get when the turtles and Splinter would perish. Luckily that’s not gonna happen. (Not even Splinter blames him for striking his opponent when the fight is over. Kami knows he’d do the same if someone dared say something so horrendous about his children.)

And the last one on the bottom right. I still think Leo actually took the most traits of Splinter with his self sacrificing habits. I mean they gotta come from somewhere.

Watched The Next Mutation about a month or so ago and I only got three things

One, writings all over the place. It feels like after the first five episodes they just threw everything in a washing machine and put it on spin cycle before forcing it open mid-spin and taking out a random wet thing, slapping it on a table and that was the plot of the episodes after.

Secondly, Venus/Mei absolutely deserved better. Girl really lost her father figure, found other turtles like her and wanted to be part of a family again but no writing decided to get rid of the family traits/brotherhood the turtles were always defined with for the one-sided romantic subplot. Venus deserved better than that and I’m sorry the worst part of the fandom won in getting rid of her from the franchise. So glad she’s in IDW though. (Also it’s been stated that if April and Casey were in TNM, Venus would’ve had someone to talk to and the turtles wouldn’t have ever written some enemies off as human problems because well, they have human friends.)

Thirdly, Mikey should definitely be allowed a radio show in other versions. It sounds like something he’d do. Most of it is lighthearted fun but when he does get a caller that needs help he’s willing to give that and have a deep talk with them. I mean in other versions where it didn’t flanderized his character, he’s the emotionally intelligent one and him having a radio station/podcast would be a way of reaching out to people without ever having to show his face.

mcr rabbit hole monday

I wanted to explain rabbit hole monday. It's for mcr fun. I have wanted to do a weekly thing but was unsure of what to do so this is an experiment. I am taking requests for themes/topics just dm/comment/tag/whatever works! I want it to be natural so i'm queueing these as they come to me or as often as they are requested. they're kind of a weekly look deeper into something, pictures that may have a strange or interesting unifying factor or a rabbit hole of connected information that is close together and who knows some might think it's fun to request and get to discuss different mcr related bits and pieces.
